ive been avoiding playing deadfire because I feel like I did all the quests in like the wrong order and fucked something up. idk. and I haven't brought maia anywhere at all because ive been nice to the huana and i have basically no respect for the RDC. so I barely know her. I do know about the outcome of her personal quest and to avoid doing it, but I mean, I'd at least like some reputation with her or something? I want to give her a chance, but I feel like she'd just hate me lol. and by the time I got her, I already did a lot of the more dutiful dialogue responses to get aloth's rep up early on because he's mr no fun allowed (affectionate) in this game
then there's pallegina who I obviously like and don't want to piss off and force out of the party, but fuck the VTC honestly. i think you can side with the huana and keep her, but definitely not maia and it just seems silly to recruit her, never do anything with her, and then have her leave. like what was the point of any of that
I'll probably just tell everyone to go eat a dick and do the last quest by myself once i get there but it's frustrating. and I think I like. ignored the principi for too long and probably missed some content there too. there's no chance i would have sided with them but ughhh.
basically I can see where the complaints about petty factional politics overshadowing the actual (extremely dire and urgent) plot are coming from. ostensibly i am to be tracking down a divinely possessed jolly green giant on the explicit orders of the actual gods to get my fucking soul back, but 90% of the time im more concerned with shit that frankly isnt any of my business.
I think I want to start over with more of a gameplan so to speak but also that sounds like a pain in the ass. idk.

tag rant but man i fuckin hate the new direction for loz

Summary: Your partner doesnt really into playing online games, but you do, so what do they play when you introduce them and what would they be interested in playing.
Warnings: mentions of blood, and horror games but nothing bad jsut the mentions of it, otherwise just fluff, modern au
Note: love the idea of playing games with someone who has never really touched an online game, so you introduce them to some not so weird games and play with them. i sound so lonely- love you

Pantalone
He definitely lives in a giant place, so you have your own room with a pc and all that stuff, even though he doesnt really understand it he loves you, and your hobbies are apart of you.
Would love to play something with you, but he for once isn't sure how to ask, and he doesn't have much free time. But would love to play some cozy games with you, either on a console or with him sitting in your chair while you teach him how to play.
Likes playing more business-focused games, just so he can also show off all his knowledge of marketing to you, but could also get into horror games if you played with him.
He plays the sims with you at times, and he definitely has one of the sims run a store and can make a lot of money really quickly, even without knowing what he's really doing.
Childe
He has played a few games, but only combat games where you could also see blood, so think shooters and that stuff. so if you play more cozy games, or just sweet games i dont think he would be very interested at first.
But if you wanted to play with him he totally would, he would sit next to you at his own desk and look over to see what you were doing once in a while when he was lost.
He likes playing with you but doesnt do it often, only when he really feels like it. Also loves horror games, but especially if you get scared easily so he can tease you and comfort you, plus he gets to hold your hand.
Albedo
He is definitely interested in video games, and has some on his phone that Klee can play when she's with her but he's busy.
So he has gotten you to talk a little about the games you play, and seen you play as well. But has never actually tried playing it, so he would like to try.
Likes to play dress up games, just for fun but also because he can draw the outfits and get inspiration form them. Plus he has you beside him so he can tease you by drawing you in a rather embarrassing outfit.
He's not really into the concept but still likes to just watch while he's doing an experiment, but would play science games on his own if he found one he liked.
Think if Dr. Stone made a game, so stuff with a lot of scientific aspects to it. Games that would put you to sleep after he started talking about it.
Nilou
Loves to look at you play, she sits on your lap at times to get a better view. She doesn't really take an interest to what you're doing as much, but would still love to play with you.
She would like playing the sims, making both of you and building a pretty house for you to live in. She has also made you kiss many times, but got embarrassed when you commented on it.
Would also challenge you in fitness type games, but she wins almost every time. You now have a Wii in your living room where you both do yoga together every week.
Tighnari
He is way more interested in nature, plants, and the outside world of living beings, so he hasn't really touched the concept of playing games on a computer, more so looking up information.
But he would be so into Stardew Valley, yes he does know way more about all these plants and will rant on and on about why these plants need to planted in the spring and stuff. But he would have so much fun playing if you got im into it.
GRASS, did i scare you? go out and touch some please, you need it
And yes, he is interested in what you play otherwise without him, and would encourage you to talk about it for hours just like he does with plants. He's very supportive of you and likes just looking at you play games while he studies a special species of fox that he just learned about.
Walks into your room from time to time and opens the windows, because you need more sunlight, and he doesn't accept the excuse of him being your sun, though he does blush if you say that.

Hiding behind anon despite the fact ive been non-anon on here hi guys whatsup I have random mostly Grujaja centered things but theres others...............cause....yeah.... -Would be the best at hide and seek, he could just bury himself into the ground and turn the cone until you cant see the face. Would spend hours in one spot because nobody can locate this guy... -Would be that one guy at the party who stands awkwardly in the corner with a red cup. He didnt want to be there but someone else dragged him there and now he has to deal with it. -I feel like Grujaja would wear things like ear mufflers or sunglasses. He wears that cone all the time (as someone who wears headphones alot when you take them off its like getting hit by a truck sometimes.) Would probably also have a moment because the cone gets in the way of his breathing a little. -Hides small things in his cone, basically carrying small items on his head all the time. Things he can just drop whenever he wants them. -P would probably be concerningly good at combat games. P has got some inner demons or something. -Al constantly thinks he is that guy. He is infact not that guy. -Vib is an artist, P is also an artist. The two would probably do art together. -I feel like- whatever Bizzyboys are- they have really strong tails, some of them have tails that can support their bodies weight, kind of like a cool chair. I don't know if youve ever played monster hunter but if you look up the Great Maccao you'll see where im going with this. -They also have good hearing and eyesight too, but its...selective? Its very easy for them to just tune things out or loose focus if they want too. Their emotions/environment probably get in the way of this though. -The Bizzyboys have AT SOME POINT done a Team Rocket type skit.

the point about breathing being hard in the cone was an actual concern i had for him during the edge of milldread fight. its hot there he's gonna get heatstroke <:[ I also hc him bringing sensory headphones for when life gets too loud post game.
Patty gamer rage is so real and true in my heart. shes so sweety until you boot up mortal combat or guilty gear and then she immediately goes feral. fight those demons girl its scary in here.

I headcanon each of the bizzyboys we see as one form of artist or another! they all seem to have artistic tendencies! all were seen drawing in buzzhuzz, even Grujaja, he drew on his cone! Capo included as well. that mans art is cooking to me. Fun fact: on king posters posted to the limbolane account theres graffiti in red with a small Al drawn in the corner implying Al can draw <3
I dont think they can balance on their tails due to the thickness not being enough to support a whole body upright like a Great Maccao, but i do subscribe to their tails being strong enough to support their weight similar to how people portray possums hanging by their tails (though that isnt something possums can actually really do) It's common to pick up young drainfolk by their tail like this in my heart.... or adult ones if you're tall enough and have a death wish! Bonus: I also headcanon young drainfolk climbing onto adults when spooked or upset. (usually parents, though Grujaja Didn't have those anymore so...)
I agree on this one, though i'm biased because i'm the same way. I've had to be physically grabbed sometimes while reading books to get my attention and even still sometimes that didnt work.

hello logmore! silly question but i was curious about your thoughts on like a dragon: infinite wealth so far. you mentioned being bored by the first few chapters (fair) so i’m curious what your impression is now that you’ve played more of it. i wish sega was a bit more transparent about the development of the yakuza games because im kind of fascinated by some of the decisions they made in this one
I finished the game last night so I can reply now. I will talk about Infinite Wealth spoilers here:
Things I like:
Combat: Just Yakuza 7 combat but fleshed out, which is perfect. Being able to position your character is great, the team chain attacks and weapon attacks and stuff are fun to set up. The one flaw with it is that it does not interact with Kiryu very well, and by the end I was actually doing less damage with Kiryu if I got a tag team or weapon attack instead of a basic Brawler attack.
Classes: There were a lot of classes I ignored in 7 because they just weren't doing anything; it was just better to leave Joongi, Zhao, and Eri as their defaults and go to town. I think 8 has an improved skill inheritance system that made it more worthwhile to try out different classes, so by the end I switched every character away from their base class. Desperado and Aquanaut stood out as being very flexible and fun.
Kiryu: Technically this is an Ichiban game, but its more of a send-off to Kiryu than anything. I like how there was a ton of content dedicated to Kiryu revisiting characters from the past games, delivered in a way that I still liked it even though I only played 0 and 1. I thought the way they introduced leveling up his stances + gaining the ability to go beat-em-up mode was pretty clever. I also liked equipping him with gear that gave him buffs every turn so he could tear enemies apart like King's Hawaiian rolls.
Yamai: They knew what they were cooking here. You have to fight this guy like 4 times and I enjoyed it every time. He's cool, he looks cool, even the main characters say he is cool, and if he isn't playable in Yakuza 9 I'm gonna be astounded.
Things I don't:
Slow start: The first chapter got me pretty invested, but after Ichiban goes to Hawaii the story is a fucking slog for like 15 hours. I got so bored I stopped playing, and when I came back it finally picked up again.
Side content that I wasn't ever going to do: This is the reason the start of the story is so slow. I'm sure Dondoko Island and Crazy UberEats and all that is fun, but it isn't the type of thing I'm playing these games for, and when so much time in the story is spent ramping up all these side games to play, I just feel like I'm wasting my time. Next game might as well have a Virtua Fighter 6 tournament in the middle of it, why not?
Villains: Bryce and Ebina are just lame characters. This is a game with essentially 2 final bosses, but neither of them have the emotional core or the weight of the bosses from 7. Bryce is literally just 'a weird guy shows up', and while I understand what they were going for with Ebina, his goals seem so disconnected from what the protagonists are experiencing that him taking his shirt off and fighting Kiryu doesn't feel like a real climax. Getting Danny Trejo on board was a pretty inspired choice, but you fight Dwight so early that it framed him as a weakling that didn't matter. And he keeps coming back, in spite of that! There were a few showdowns in 7 where it felt high stakes/intense, but in 8 they had to bust out Sawashiro again to capture that.
Managing 2 parties at the same time: On one hand its cool because it means I get to use every party member, but I wish they bumped up the XP of whatever party you weren't playing, so that when you switched between them they were both at the same level. There were a couple of points where I had to grind because the difficulty of the content was scaling based on what my previous party had left off at, so I needed to get my current party to that level first. I also had to spend a lot of time doing the dungeons to get the materials for weapon upgrades on 9 characters. Just kind of time consuming, but it isn't the worst thing in the world.
Tatara Channel: Its dumb, but this is the only thing in the game that actually made me mad. The social media aspect of the story already feels dated in a way, and I don't care about Vtubers to begin with, but the thing that actually got me upset about this shit is that all the Tatara Channel scenes are just story recaps with unskippable dialog where something relevant MIGHT happen at the end. At one point I got tired of it and just skipped the cutscene, and then all of the sudden Kiryu is in front of Tojo HQ ready to fight. I hope they never deliver a plot in this way ever again
Even though I wrote more negative things than positive things, I still liked this game a lot. 7 is a way better story, but I think Ichiban and Kiryu are just too strong of protagonists to truly hate on the story, even if a lot of things surrounding it are dumb. I'm looking forward to playing pirates with Majima, and I will wish on a genie's lamp for Yamai to come back as a playable berserker-type character

Star Fox 64 Review (Nintendo 64)

I present to you one of the greatest games ever made. When I first played this game it was like magic, and i still see it that way honestly. I'm constantly amazed by the fact this game was made on the Nintendo 64 of all systems, it feels like a miracle. What this game was able to accomplish with the hardware is truly astonishing. Whenever I come back to this game that is always what I think, but don't worry this game isn't just entertaining to look at, it is also great to play.

This is game is basically a remake of the Super Nintendo original but completely revamped to like a million. Its a flyin and shootin game at least that parts simple. You chart a linear path through the level and destroy other crafts, robots, and bosses as you go. You have a charges and quick shot at your disposal to take down enemies. You also have a few you can also collect a liited number of bombs to throw out when things get extra tough. Its crazy just how good everything really feels during combat. Though it can be tough to get through especially when you've got enemies coming from the back, but thats when manouvers come in. You have the very iconic barrel roll which deflects most basic damage from enemies, and then you also have the ability to U-Turn and somersault. There is the regular flying mode and also an all range mode which kicks in sometimes, depending on which mode your in determines what moves you can actually do. But of course when all else fails you cant forget that your not alone.

One of the most iconic parts of this game are the allies of team Star Fox who are always with you, well unless you get them too banged up and they leave that is. The voice lines uttered by these 4 are so iconic and one of the best parts of the game. They will sometimes ask you to help them out when they are in a jam and you will have to take out the enemies that are behind them. All 3 serve a general function as well, Slippy will tell you the health of the bosses for example and Peppy will even give advice on where and how to combat certain situations, Its crucial you try to keep them with you as much as possible. However if you do let one die, they will be back after you complete a level to get repaired. Its amazing to me how great the VCs are in this game, the audio quality is quite good and both enemies and allies alike say some great stuff. One of those games that will have you quoting the lines for weeks after playing.

There are a series of levels you have to complete to reach the final boss but one of the awesome things about it is that it is not completely linear. There are three paths in the game and depending on what you do within the levels will determine which levels you go to next. However only the hard route will net you the true final boss and the true ending. Having to beat the game all in one go on limited lives may seem a little harsh at first but i promise if you stick with it it will be worth it in the end. I wont say anything about the true final boss but oh boy are you in for a treat if you tough enough to make it.

A fun story i tell about this game is that when i played it as a little child the final boss scared the crap out of me so bad i had nightmares about it. Something about the head sitting in the black void was so terrifying to me. Feels extra good whenever im finally able to take him down for all those scares from when i was a kid.

Its no doubt that i recommend this game. It is absolutely without a doubt my favorite game for the 64. Its one of those games that is infinitely replayable because everytime you lose it just makes you want to come back and try again to get better. Please if you havent yet do yourself a favor and PLAY THIS GAME.

so it all comes to this.
to say i was excited to play 3 would be wrong. actually i was sort of dreading the game. i went in with expectations for the worst and was pleasantly surprised. which is not to say that its good. but its certainly a game! that i played! and now you get my thoughts. unfortunately a lot of my thoughts about the end of the game are kind of hard to separate so. if youre wondering where my thoughts on endgame stuff is. its at the end.
(also i havent played remind so theres no remind thoughts here. its all just base game kh3)
combat (with some other gameplay notes)
so. im not a big fan of the combat. to preface, i played the rest of the series on standard, but with kh3 i was told it was easy so i did proud! and yet it was still the easiest kh game.
kh3 is the first game in the series where i feel as though 'mash x to win' is a valid criticism <- thats not entirely true at the start, but later in the game it does feel a lot like that. almost every fight is mindless because of how easy it is. you can see it in the enemy health bars, theyre absurdly large because of how easy it is to take them down. they need to have that high of health so the fight isnt over in under a minute.
i dont think the base combat is bad. unsatisfying, maybe. But not bad. except for attraction commands.
attraction commands feel like part of a pattern in kh3, where they try to recreate what made the other games so good without understanding WHY it was good. what theyre recreating ofc being reaction commands. technically its the same as some reaction commands, sure, being a giant dramatic attack, but it doesnt work because theres no situational awareness in them.
attraction commands dont feel cool because theres nothing in them that requires use of your surroundings or that is tailored to the enemies youre fighting, since theres only a couple that can be used at any time. there's nothing strategic about using them either- reaction commands normally would give you a specific advantage, or could be used to avoid attacks, only sometimes dealing damage on their own. in kh3, all attractions do is deal damage. they are impersonal and often obtrusive- if youre like me and hate attractions, youll still often accidentally use one, since theres no way to disable them.
this is more abstract than anything, but something about attacking feels unsatisfying. the combat feels like it lacks any real sense of impact or weight to me. but thats all personal and not exactly good criticism so. i digress
also the bosses in 3 suck. you know its bad when the most memorable boss fight in your game is the tutorial. most of the boss fights in this game are so unmemorable that ive literally forgotten them. except of course demon tide. i despise demon tide. it was fine in 0.2 but not here. every time you fight it feels like a missed opportunity for something cooler.
i think flowmotion is worse now. i get that it was a bit too overpowered, but with how much it was limited i ended up hardly using it. i didnt like flowmotion because of the attacks, i liked it because of the movement. so to me, it ended up being a reminder of how kh3 failed instead of a fun feature.
also i know a lot of people like being able to switch keyblades in fights, but honestly i feel like it removes an element of strategy the other games had
the ui (and other visual things)
this isnt something i talked about in my other reviews. but in kh3 i must bring it up. if you follow me you may know my hatred for kh3s ui. so im going to talk about it again! this is the abridged version though. heres my whole rant if you want my full thoughts on it. but the short version is that i dont like it. i am someone with terrible vision and i can play every single kh game without glasses because the ui is just big enough that i can read it. most of the time i can read subtitles too. but in 3? i struggle even WITH glasses to read anything. the ui is too small to make out anything almost all the time. its really only by muscle memory that im able to play. my glasses broke while i was playing, and i literally couldnt play until i got new ones because i couldnt make out a single word on screen. its bad design.
im also upset that there ui art has been replaced with renders. its just a shame honestly. i loved the art in the older games. the renders feel bland in comparison.
and thats generally my take on the look of modern kh. sure its pretty, but its bland. kh has always had a certain cartoonish vibe to it thats starting to die out, and i think the shift to unreal engine was the first marker of that change. i like the look of old kh. its not too technically impressive but its incredibly charming. kh3 is anything but. the characters feel far less expressive, the worlds are realistically rendered, it feels unfitting for a series like kh. its hard for me to find kh3 as charming as the other games. the only word i can think of to really describe it is corporate.
i dont know if this is a rare take, but i think technically impressive visuals are far worse than distinct ones. kh used to have a unique look! now it just looks like every other semi-realistically rendered rpg.
story (featuring: more gameplay notes)
my problem with kh3's story was unavoidable really. dream drop distance set this game up for failure and so im not going to complain about dream drop distance. ANOTHER TIME ill talk about dream drop distance. i dont have time to make a post that long. i do have a lot of problems with the story that werent a result of ddd being terrible so i guess ill just bring up those.
one of my biggest issues with the game is how unimportant the roxas plot is. youre led to believe the game will revolve around it but then sora does nothing to further it. at all. at the start he CONSIDERS doing something, and then hes told by ienzo "no its fine ive got it. go do something else" and its barely ever mentioned again until the end.
this relates to my overarching problem with the plot: it feels aimless. in every kh game theres a REASON theyre going on a journey. soras looking for his friends, roxas is working a 9 to 5, the wayfinders are all following each other, etc. but in kh3 sora is looking for "the power of waking". what is the power of waking? i literally have no clue. thats how poorly defined it is. its an abstract goal, its not tangible or even really achievable. its just a macguffin. when the plot suddenly decides to happen at the end the whole journey feels pointless. you could skip every disney world past twilight town and you would probably be fine. it's not a journey, you're not exploring for a purpose, you're just killing time until other people handle the plot.
i also really hate the new organization (i refuse to call them the real organization. theyll never be the org). theyre painfully boring and poorly put together. the old org had structure, they had very specific goals, every member had a purpose. you knew how they worked and why they did what they did. the new org is just completely lacking in that. calling it an 'organization' is stupid because there's nothing organized about it. and even disregarding all that, the new organization also lacks any real personality. the members feel so boring, which sucks, because almost all of them are returning characters who used to be really fun. and why are most of them even there? no one except maybe xigbar seems to actually care about their mission. the old organization had a common goal and a reason everyone was there. they were nobodies, they wanted their hearts back. there's no reason for any of the new members to stick with xehanort. and if you say "well they were norted!" i then must ask. what exactly is norting? like really. it hasnt been possession since birth by sleep. norting is whatever nomura needs it to be in the moment. its not clearly defined, its just another macguffin.
also because i dont know where to put it, the battle of 10,000 heartless is just a terrible successor to the original fight. there's no stakes, no buildup, no friends fighting by your side, no reason to care. they just throw thousands of heartless with no ai at you. literally no ai, if you stand still they wont attack you. its a drag if anything, an homage to a better game done absolutely no justice.
back to what i was saying about the roxas plot, roxas' return is just such a nothing scene. theres nothing about it thats cathartic, his lines are impersonal and bland, theres nothing 'roxas' about it. roxas' defining feature has always been how emotional he is, and there's none of that here. its nothing. and then he does nothing afterwords. he has seven whole lines in this entire game, six of them are in this scene, and the last one is an inconsequential jab at sora at the very end. and then he fades into the background.
the writing in this game in general is actually weirdly worse than normal. it feels a lot less, idk, human? the older games were weird and absurdly cheesy but this is just. strange. look at the scenes with riku and mickey in the realm of darkness and youll see what i mean.
WHILE IM ON THAT SUBJECT. RIKUS KEYBLADE BREAKING IS BULLSHIT. remind me to rant about that another time though im not gonna go on a tangent about that here
also i would give my thoughts on the ending but i literally couldnt care less about xehanort. so i dont really have any! the final boss was alright though
i have more specific thoughts, but generally, the game feels aimless and underwhelming.

i love axel and kairi! theyre a fun duo and ill never shut up about their parallels so seeing them together is nice. i wish they did anything but thats BESIDES the point im being POSITIVE here
also. the music is great. i love the music sm. its nowhere near my favorite kh soundtrack, it feels a lot more grand which isnt my thing but its still some of yoko shimomuras best work. also hearts as one. its the PERFECT conclusion to roxas' theme and arc. the progression of it from melancholic (roxas) to desperate (the other promise) to triumphant (hearts as one) is just so good. i wish the rest of this scene was as good as the music so i could compliment it more wholeheartedly yknow?
its actually funny also! kh isnt the funniest series, most of the time when it IS funny its completely on accident. but kh3 is like days in the way that it just. actually has funny writing. the jokes intended DO land and its just a breath of fresh air.
oh also riku being well adjusted is the funniest possible conclusion to his character arc. 10/10 im so happy hes normal. never give that boy an emo arc again nomura

over all, kh3 is exactly like how my teachers described me in elementary school: it has a lot of potential, but doesnt apply itself. this couldve been a decent game but it simply doesnt do most things very well. i give it a 5.2 / 10. its not an actively bad game but its a game i have trouble enjoying. sidenote im retconning my opinion on bbs to say its 4.7 / 10 because a: my opinions have changed and b: i think 3 is better but i dont want to give it a very high score.

btw now that i can get to it (was busy and had someone over) i can babble a little abt zzz and give my thoughts so far on it if anyone is still wondering whether they should try it or not
first thing i have to say is, to me it feels like a cozy casual kinda game. and i love it. i think thats the part i saw some ppl complain abt
it reminds me a lot of P5 w the overall vibes etc (i played on first release years ago but not the additional stuff afterwards so idk if there were changes to the plot or anything with whatever royal is about) and it was a comfort game for me back then so yea. this might add a lot to why zzz feels like such a comfort game to me
the siblings are not active, playable characters in combat since theyre the proxy guiding and supporting the playable characters (agents) in the hollows (compare it to domains). outside of the hollows you run around with ur chosen sibling and whoever you picked, the other doesnt disappear or becomes irrelevant. they are a unit, run their video store together, theyre one proxy, supporting each other. i already love how trailblazer is more vocal than traveler but the siblings are active, talking parts in cutscenes and whenever theres dialogue choices, your chosen sibling ACTUALLY SAYS IT. this is smth i wished for a while in gnshn so seeing it in zzz made me super happy. it gives them sm life and gets me into it idk how to say it

anw its not overwhelming like gnshn feels to me. gnshn has sm to explore and sm story and its smth i both enjoy and feel exhausted by. now, if you played persona or are familiar, its easier for me to use for comparison. you get to run around as the chosen sibling in the city but the fighting (w the agents you pull from the gacha) all happens in the hollows (similar to when you enter the metaverse). it runs with a day-night cycle and depending on the time, npcs and quests pop up. you can pass the time if you need a specific time of day for an objective, by doing hollow exploration or simply resting in ur room. theres side stuff you do, like running your store and visiting the arcade and play snake akjscbk
the combat itself reminds me of HI3 and wuwa and feels super smooth and fun to me
it has cutscenes etc but the story parts in between are illustrated and presented in a comic/storyboard kinda way? which fits the whole video/movie aesthetics well. its pretty cool
overall, if you didnt try it out yet bc you think it requires lots of energy and time like gnshn, its nothing like that at all. ofc im not through with everything but so far it feels like a very nice game to play casually, w a big cozy bonus when youre spending the day freely in game. i play only on pc or on console when i wanna lay down but this game even i would play on phone or ipad to chill akjscbk
the characters are also pretty fun and cool looking! like, look at them, so far we got
the most chaotic ragtag group in all of new eridu (they share one braincell and its anby who is in charge of it)
fresh looking heavy industry workers (they have a bear)
classic horror housekeeping service who will poison ur tea ig
motorcycle gang (oggling the glasses guy and boss lady super hard, they will be mine when playable-)
public security (they have an actual catboy in case weve got catboy enjoyers here)
special hollow operation elite squad aka the coolest strongest mfs out there taking care of hollow disasters
ALSO THE NPCS!!! LIKE!!! look at the cook!!! tinmaster running the coffee shop!!! the girl selling gadgets or the bunny person running the arcade!!!
even the regular npcs just roaming the streets. theres lots of cool details and life in every bit, its really cool

ii NNEEDS TO GET THISQOUT OF MY SYSTEM
i havve been in þe mcsm fandom for 6 monþs. ive been obsessed w jesstra for 6 monþs. ive noticed people around me change interests MUKTIOLE times but im stuck in mcsm but heu þats not what i need to say
AHEM. this will be long.... yap incoming. jesstra. analysis. jesstra clicking in your head after an excruciatingly long explanation, wiþ þe satisfaction of knowledge after. it's yours to read... only if you have an hour of freetime
im replaying s1 on my switch- got it for christmas, im collecting new info- as you do. finished ep4.... and questions hit me like WATERFALL. why in þe world does petra say hello to jesse first, aswell as say "your gang" n stuff? what is þeir history? þeir history as friends isnt close eiþer, þough, considering how jesse gets super giddy about even seeing petra (synonymous to petra being excited over jack but shh later). þough, petra exclusively trusts jesse over everyone else if you save her from þe witherstorm (wouldn't know about amnesia petra, because i cant faþom playing 2 episodes without petra). and þen when lukas realizes, petra still only really prefers to trust jesse..... AND WHY????? like . þeres no reason for her to be open about it at all to jesse. jesse becomes essentially þe grouo leader by general consensus ig but also like lukas is tryna be 2nd leader and kinda bitches about it (sorry lukas s1 enjoyers. switch remake made him mean) and she confides in lukas þen ig???? but also shes not þe one to listen to leaders. petra is almost exclusively shown as a loner in þe first 4 episodes, hiding absolutely anyþing she þinks would make her look weak. AND WHY WOULD SHE LET GO OF SOME GUARD NEAR JESSE????? like i need to know. i do. "oh yeah let me be honest with the dork over þere" LIKE EXCUSE ME I WANT ANSWERS!!!
alas. moving on! ep5 when jesse and gang are adventuring to þe temple ivor tipped, petra once again confides in jesse, mentioning how she's still getting used to friendships and having people worry about her. and yet she smiles, knowing jesse is þere, appreciating her existence ISNSKDKDDK i þink þis is when petra starts falling for jesse ngl. like. petea originally pulling jesse off to þe side to show wither sickness is secretive and a skittish topic for her- alþo mentioning her worry about it- compared to her more expressive self as she bares armor and a sword laced with deaþ. not to mention þe "warrior whip" move þey do later on which will start a new paragraph.
what do we know about prior-e1? dumbfoundingly noþing aside from s2 lore. between ep4 and ep5, we actually know more þan one may consider. þink about it; þe gang just defeats a witherstorm and find beacontown to reside in. (still unsure of how in ep4 þey just Have A Town Now And Jesse Leads It but sure.) þe gang- enjoying spending time togeþer and looking to further þeir heroic ways- begin training for adventures. we know þis because each friend of jesse has þeir own duo move, showing coordination. no coordination in þe world was shown in the disaster prior likw þis!!! aside from lukas being hella good w a bow tho and ofc petra always leading in combat. safe to say, þey had to train w eachoþer for þis!!! combat skills dont happen overnight or during super stressful world ending situations. like, yeah sure, maybe jesse got better at combat gradually þrough s1 (its a literal mechanic; she swings faster the latter episodes!) but ep5 combat just feels so.. fresh. and esp considering s2 combat being so nice and fluid, she definitely consistently trains w people. but wait, you dare say. how does þis relate to jesstra???
well. guess who knows up-close combat? petra. guess who has a sudden jump from "i feel terrible yucky because people care about me" to "maybe having a friend or two is fun!"? petra (only when youre killing þe witherstorm does petra show true honesty, not gonna lie. she admits her weakness and does nothing. þen is happy to be alive when she's. well. alive bur its short ngl) SO I DARE ASK!!! how would she be friendly w jesse?
þey trained togeþer, awaiting adventures...... and þinking of nibo fanfic snippets i þink þe two would've had quite a few more intimate moments where jesse is learning how to dodge and roll and petra can admire jesse without her vision shaking from withersickness (she mention's it :3). like imagine a training montage but þe longer frames is like,, petra holding jesse by þe waist correcting her fighting stance eeehhehe NOW DO YIU SEE???? its falling into place!
now cut back to ep5, in þe temple. jesse and petra talking. suddenly ir makes sense- petra appreciates jesse for being tbere as a friend and also for þeir time just generally spent togeþer! and as þey travel þrough þe portals, jesse and petra see þe bad sides of eachoþer- but also have an undying care for eachoþer. arguing. near-death. jesse wishing a pama'd petra didnt die. ... can i ask how gay this is?? id say like, maybe 7/10. ywah. BUT THE IMPORTANT PART IS rhey learn sm about eachoþer! þey go þrough hell but as petra puts it, she's still glad to be by jesse's side!!!! and þats what i call inseparable besties!
which is why jesse going w petra in s2 ending makes þe most sense to me. they experience so much togeþer. jesse gets to see petra meet her favorite legend, happy and giddy. realize how far apart þey really drifted. THEN RECONNECT!!!! like hello...þey want eachoþer!! þink about it! between s1 and s2, gang really settles down in þeir lives. jesse, lukas, axel and olivia- rhey all reside in þeir homes, going out less and less often. jesse is þe last to really fizzle out of petra's nonexistent home.
yeah, you heard me right. noþer side tangent, PETRA HAS NOWHERE TO GO WITHOUT HER FRIENDS AND THATS AO FUCKING LONELY LIKE HELLO??..... her þing is to adventure. not stick in one place. she goes to champion city looking for somewhere to reside in but she's stuck on þe low end of being a "champion" to bitch stella. do you know how lonely she is? no. can we assume þat her friends leaving her makes her repeat cycles she did prior-s1? yes, yes we can, because it's petra, petra þe "i dont know how friendships work but i miss jesse" petra :3 (GO MY ANGST WRITERS... WRITE!!/j)
ikay so back to jesstra. when jesse finallay meets w petra, its like a reintroduction almost. not only for player's sake but because its þe truþ- jesse and petra have changed. you can tell immediately, petra þinks of jesse dearly- yet feels like she's being left out. props to her for honesty!!! and þis makes jesse wanna hang out w petra more as to fix that. and ao rhey adventure. and get caught in trouble regarding a gauntlet. and þe season plays and CAN I JUSF SAY IR ALREADY???? þey yearn for eachoþer so bad when times get tough. like. after jesse gets þe gauntlet, þeyre inseparable- not to mention þey BOTH freak out and need to stop themselves from worrying. but also jesse feels left out when petra and jack talk about adventures- petra still doesnt expect jesse to come wiþ. jesse yearning is ON....and my heart is tearing apaet so naturally romeo comes in and makes þem scared shitless AGAIN and þey fight him again and again meanwhile during þis, never wanting to part. i feel þis is because of fear- þey have unsaid worries about eachoþer. þe þought of þe oþer dying already spooks petra at the water temple, so its safe to assume þe latter adventures she would protect jesse from everyþing and anyþing. which she does! actually! whole noþer post but HOO WEE.
and þen þeyre in admin story learning mode and just. jdjsonsaodkdskndk. þey realize þeir lives kind of mirror þe admin's, growing apart (as if þe old oots wasnt enough of a parallel) and petra fears being alone. boþ of þem do. its not very explicit, but jesse does rely on petra. þey immediately find eachoþer in þe ice tower, uhh,, oþer places, and þe jail institution, all þat jazz- so reflecting on þem drifting apart makes one.. cry. and petra does cry, for þe first time, infront of someone, honestly. and jesse is SO ACCEPTING OF THAT. i could gonon foreever about þis but like. HELLO. ITS. YHEYRE SO. THWIR WORLDS REVOLVE AROUND eachoþer AND þey CANT faþom A LIFE WHERE þeir BESTFRIEND IS GONE. AND þat MAKES ME BAWL. þeir relationship is so, so twisted and complex and beautiful. i could talk about it for hours!!! i say typinf about it for .. about 2 hours

at first i wanted to swap sakumo with a kiri shinobi. then i realized, nothing ever changes. one man doesn't start or stop a war. he didn't change the system. fandom misconception: apparently sakumo gets blamed for a mission that started a war? what are timelines? who said that? i know that when one is writing a fic it's easy to conspiracy-brain this & say something like "root sabotaged the mission" to keep sakumo like... "perfect"? or that danzo for some reason staged his death? we're just adding crimes to the old man's portfolio huh sakumo's kiri existence leads to sakura's parents -- in this they are civilian merchants -- settling in the land of water and having a child earlier. let's say they are originally from around wave. they are fairly shinobi-positive: "our bloodthirsty little girl wants to learn to stab people? okay sweetie :)" ...sakura may or may not have younger siblings (who remain civilians) i'm keeping some fun sakumo & kakashi material to myself for now ^^

let's be real, you're here because of rin. some of this is just my unwillingness to derail canon too much. rin follows canon kakashi's path: anbu, maybe a short stint in root, jonin, some more anbu work alongside visible jonin missions, and finally jonin-sensei! she doesn't spend hours staring at the memorial stone; she carries everything on her. she stares at people. all the time. sometimes hidden with genjutsu, sometimes just standing there like a statue. blink goes the sharingan. don't mind her. canon kakashi came to meet his new team late; rin was standing in the (ceiling) corner since early morning

rin sees the aftermath of eyeball politics:
fact: obito voluntarily gave a body part to an allied combatant (who previously lost an eye)
was obito's body his to give away? or does it belong to his village? or his clan?
decision: hiroto can keep the sharingan but he's on thin ice
fact: hiroto later gave the same body part to another allied combatant
fact: rin was part of the original team, obito's other friend, so she's someone who could have received the eye then if the situation was a tiny bit different
suddenly it's all "would obito want rin to have the sharingan?" and "we don't know that", obito's decision is now the law, not hiroto's, so please give it back to the uchiha
thankfully obito's dying words weren't "go be hokage"; she would burn the hat
decision: rin can keep the sharingan but can't even think about gifting it to anyone else, since her original team is gone (and minato doesn't want it)
when the uchiha die, rin's first thought is "who gets to keep the eyeballs?"
(answer: danzo. probably)
rin has a complicated relationship with being a medic. as in, she refuses to be called that anymore. when she meets tsunade it's going to get messy -- whether it's upon waking from the itachi mind torture special or not. “no medic ninja shall ever die until they are the last of their platoon” <- all-consuming Rage 🔥
most of rin's relationships are... weird. people think she's weird; she agrees, but their reasons are so wrong. (someone misunderstanding rin? never seen that before...) however she has a best friend, who deserves a whole separate post. who is it? not that hard to guess, but very hard to describe what they have going on. that relationship is built. they could feature in any "siblings or dating?" game. the answer is obviously neither. (most adult interactions to be fleshed out later)

I'm guessing by your banner that you also like Minecraft sooooo, turtle Minecraft headcannons to spare please 🥺? Just in general, all the Donnie's are definitely into Minecraft. I feel like all the rise turtles are also definitely into Minecraft and Leo, mikey and Donnie all had a big Minecraft phase in their childhood and maybe they still play multiplayer with each other when their bored and have nothing better to do. Maybe gaming headcannons in general for the turtles?
i play it for like. a week once a year. then i get distracted by something else and forget i was playing. this cycle repeats once every twelve months. the neo-mayan calendar.
i'll do rise specifically bc im feeling soft for it rn
donnie loves fiddling with command blocks to set up the server, and he loves setting up fun traps for his brothers. he's huge into redstone and builds amazing contraptions. his base is one where you have to fall through lava to get inside, and he has, like. fifty secret rooms for all his loot. he has the most optimum selection of armor and always wears his elytra so he can fly out of trouble. he has 500 cats at every build so creepers can't come by and blow them up.
raph loves the combat. he never uses a shield bc it makes it 'too easy.' at any given moment, the lower left hand of the screen is filled with his death messages. he also loves the exploration part, and he's always sending coordinates for interesting things for people to check out later. his base is a dirt box with a single bed and one chest filled with some string, a single diamond, four pieces of steak, a dark oak slab, a soul strider book, and two brown mushrooms. full netherite armor (mostly bc he keeps dying in the nether and everyone got tired of him burning through all their diamonds, so they pulled together and farmed up enough netherite to give him something that wouldn't burn up)
mikey is the builder on the server. he likes to beautify things and terraform, and his base is a custom mountain valley he built in the middle of a flower forest biome. he can make every block look good. raph's house actually makes him angry, like legit, but raph won't let him pretty it up for him. he dies to creepers a lot bc he never remembers to light up his builds, and they sneak up on him while he's listening to music and building. he wears unenchanted iron armor (except when donnie forces some blast protection iv on his ass) except for his feather falling iv diamond boots.
leo's here for the mining. he loves collecting shit and bringing it back home. he'll go out with an inventory of shulker boxes, stuff 'em full, then bring them home and go back out again. he's the spine of the server; sitting afk at the witch farm so donnie can get enough redstone, going out and getting more terracotta so mikey can finish his trading hall, and helping raph collect his shit when he dies in the end and oh god maybe his elytra landed on the side???? he'll also put on a playlist and just strip mine for hours until he runs through his fourth diamond pickaxe and has to go to the gold farm to repair it up. never upgrades to netherite armor because the diamond armor is blue.

know your enemy fallacy unlocked in my brain so ive played 10hrs of datv after snapping & the review isnt looking good. ive limited spoilers to just one minor one but look at thyne own risk my honest review thus far---
this game is optimized worse than early access bg3, whole environments just dont load or even unload as i run around sometimes stuff not loading for minutes at a time. i have collected loot from chests locked away clearly from places im not meant to be because the damn wall never loaded sooooooooo
dragon age 2: the sequel right down to varric clearly telling the story like he's written it already. this is not a benefit for me, thats a big negative
the prologue is incredibly disappointing after inquisition's MASTER CLASS in how to begin a game. i could literally play by play moment by moment go into why the prologue of inquisition is one of gamings best openings but haha its funny rook beat up people in bar because bad ass teehee
actually the writing overall has taken a step backwards, most quests are uncreatively predictable & the dialogue is flat & lacks any sort of life. its giving MMO quests.
the combat is fun but it doesnt work half the time with the game forgetting the mouse buttons or number buttons exist ive died twice solely because i couldnt actually attack bc the game didnt register i was clicking my mouse or pressing hotkey 1
custom character gets reset at random & i have to reload the game several times for the game to spawn the correct edited character
i would love to care about neve but its hard to give a shit when her voice actress doesnt give a shit about delivering her lines. bellana's actress over acts and thats fine considering her character but these two have scenes together and its soooooooooooo embarrassing to see which actor cared and who wanted a paycheck
actually it feels like 70% of the various cast of npcs are just flatly reading the script & its violently immersion breaking not to mention the game treats the player, the protag, AND the npcs like they are stupid. rook parroting information to a character who parrots it back is not effective or good writing thats just repeating the same words several times so the player doesnt forget, addled by this happens in scenes back to back multiple times about any major plot point which wastes time & paints me, the player, as too stupid to pay attention when i was told the first time
$80 for 40hrs of main story. youre joking. supposedly theres 60-80 overall if you 100% it but the main story can be beat in 40 flat. for eighty goddamn dollars.
so far this has been a mid tier triple a game with dragon age packaging, it took about 4hrs before i actually felt like i was playing a dragon age game vs a copycat styled game. over the shoulder camera sucks im so over this goddamn pov. it plays, looks, & feels like a sony ip in a bad way. god of war last of us resident evil ass controls camera and gameplay.
its jank, the animations glitch & ragdolling just happens, hair textures muck up, again my enVIORNENTS DISAPPEAR. despite running on ultra bc my rig can handle it the textures & some of the models are plain ps3 looking, not nice at all not a loading issue they are just poor assets.
corridor simulator. i sure love that we finally broke free of the curse origins put on da2 where we had repeat maps long hallways & got to never explore bc dai was more open world & while some of the maps were too big we have regressed to going in a straight line, limited exploration, & each widdle level gives you a chest as a pat on the head because we are playing a very pretty platformer :)c $80
why do i have health pots in boss battles, is this a zelda
companion ai is nonexistent & the tab to open the spell / ability menu to tell my companions to do their job is clunky & invasive & in previous games companion ai let the party fend for themselves just fine why does harding have to be told to heal me when any mage in origins 2 or inquisi just already knew because low health trigger
rook is just hawke again. 3 options for dialogue red purple green dont fix it if its not broke i guess but the inquisitor had more options AND the warden had tons of dialogue choices to really flesh out a character. multiple origins are nice but whats the point of these elaborate backgrounds that are constantly mentioned by both rook & npcs if i didnt get to see or play these events. it feels like im playing someone elses character or that rook isnt a player protag its just the character you play vs one you create
f to jump, not spacebar ???? thats not how video games work bioware even you know this because spacebar to jump is the default in inquisition you absolute morons
if you survived this far heres some positives, the first being that i heavily enjoy the legacy characters popping up to support various factions maevaris tilani the bad bitch that you are i gasped when she walked into frame & i could recognize her INSTANTLY which dai failed to do with its legacy cameos like teagan fiona hell even loghain and alistair are uhhhhh not great so im glad we took greater care in making these characters more identifiable

it is pretty, i will give it that its a pretty game. the artstyle is a hit or miss tho
i like when rook smiles its the same smile animation the inquisitor had in dai its very cute

im not having fun. like honestly im not. this game is disappointing but im at this point willing to finish the main story at least to get the lore and closure i want from this franchise. this game is this odd thing that doesnt fit in the series & is vastly different from its predecessors in what i see is a detriment. gaider and weeks are VERY different directors and have split this franchise in two for better or worse. while i love dai its not perfect and started the stray away from the formula leading into scary new territory but at least it felt like dragon age. veilguard just feels generic and boring as any EA or ubisoft title out there it feels like a product im aware im playing a product instead of a game. that hurts the most honestly

Hiiii I have still been playing avowed I'm 16 hrs in and I feel like I've hit a slump? Like I got to the 2nd part of the island. the emerald stair or whatever and idk. Not trying to give any spoilers bc idk where you are but I want a companion and it's bumming me out I'm having to do a bunch of fetch quests for her. Like I didn't have to do ANYTHING for Kai and Marius we just get them. Idk. I'd probably complain less if I found the fetch quests interesting but it's just a little awkwardly done I suppose? How are you fairing with the game? Tl;dr First 8 hrs were great, second 8 hrs have me like ready to throw in the towel.
to be honest with you. im at the EXACT SAME SPOT. and i haven’t picked up the game since hitting it.
the second location was real stuttery for me so i was already like Okay -_- and then you meet my girl and it’s :D but you don’t recruit her… and then you meet the other girl and it’s :D and then you don’t recruit her… like please i didn’t even want these boys but i had zero power to deny either of them. like recruiting marius felt so out of no where and when he wants to leave ur given 4 dialogue options that all say :( pls stay :( like why can’t i say ok bye. why can’t i even dismiss them? why am i forced to boy squad but they tease the gals in front of me like a prize i need to work my ass off for and it’s not even FUN. when kai jokes about u becoming assistant i was like. i don’t like this. this is boring. and quit and haven’t felt like playing again
this game starts off so strong with so much potential and it’s so exciting… i love parkour i love explore i love find things i love the voice story parts… but the second i hit zone 2 it felt like i was back at that part of the start of the game where it’s slowly teaching you the basics in the city . except then at least i felt good about fucking off first because there’s a cool lighthouse nearby. here i feel desperate to get the next companion cuz i’m dying here but i need to learn how to do the most boring talk to 3 different people side quest i don’t care about because i’ve known this gal and this town for 2 seconds and i just don’t care about them. it’s like they thought showing them starving and giatta being exiled was enough to get u soooo motivated to save her and help them and stuff and it’s like no. i’m sorry. your writing is just not powerful enough to get me that invested from some idle npc dialogue and one argument with multiple npcs i’ve never seen before and kai chiming in like “yikes” “that’s awkward” “cringe” OK KAI SHUT UP STOP INTERJECTING anyway. yeh. i agree. i wish the game kept the same feeling i had at the start but it’s like the more i play the more.. dull it is. unexciting. repetitive? i feel like if i keep going it’s just gonna… loop zone one. it doesn’t feel like it’s gonna do anything more. and maybe it will! but. it flopped so bad so fast i don’t feel motivated to see it. i literally feel zero motivation to play now? and it sucks. because i was loving it
also i was feeling drained from the combat which i’m surprised about . like u need so much money to buy better stuff or u need to really grind in ur exploring to find all the materials (and stick to one type of weapon or u will need so much more) and because things don’t respawn you can’t like. actually grind for mats. so i felt like i was being fucked by wanting to try more combat things and be more well rounded. and i felt weak. and stuck. like how am i supposed to get more money or more mats. i’m confused. ok next zone: ok everything is way more expensive here and oh my god there’s another fucking bear i don’t want to kill another bear i don’t wanna explore this location and find 50 bears i don’t even wanna try to find my materials because i’ll just weakly fight more bears!!!!!!
anyway. the reviews who gave this game lukewarm reviews… i see it . i can understand why someone would push through and finish it. even replay it (i like that backgrounds do give lots of dialogue choices - don’t like that most dialogue choices seem to be the same thing said different ways but alas) . but man idk if i’m that person. especially when i’ve experienced performance issues and glitches/bugs . maybe if they gave me women to hang out with i’d be happier. can you tell i don’t really like kai or marius . also why can’t i be any kind of evil . i gave up and decided to be the nicest cunt around because the game seems to really reward and like that. but being a dickhead doesn’t seem to be a choice i can make a lot. or being downright a bad person, that seems to be like. never. lol anyway i’m rambling in my disappointment

to be honest, i do love this game, but i hate the company & community. my love has wavers the more natlan stuff comes out cause,, let's just say natlan is NOT good chat they peaked w/ fontaine and had to balance it out w natlan (my opinions on this game do go farther im just keeping it short)

i dislike the fandom even more than genshins. and that's saying something. but i think the game is very interesting when it's not trying to gooner bait

i felt like it was very very very hard to figure out what to do. also the CONSTANT sexualization of high school girls and younger is.. interesting. other than that i think it was interesting and i like that the characters repeat in other hoyo games

-skull girls- i really liked this game. it was one of those games that truly brought me out of depression, so i have a special place in my heart for it. it's not particularly good, but i do love it. (6/10)
-infinity nikki- i really love this game!! im aware a lot of the lore is very dark, but even if u dont pay attention its still fun. the dress up part is awesome and i love the wishing screen (8/10)
nikke- yes the gooner game. i actually liked the story at first, i think it had a really interesting premise. then it got to the part where it was full gooner and i bounced. i miss blanc tho i love her (4/10)
arknights- it was just an ehhh game for me. not bad, but it was just mad boring to me. nothing really sucked me in but i enjoyed the characters
ptn- ohhh how i miss you ptn <33 i didn't play much of you but i still cherish you. i miss that lady with the giant scissors as weapons.
wuwa- i miss this game a lot to. it was very fun n the characters ahhh <3 sadly it just wasn't,, all that story wise to me.
cookie run: played it for my friend, for about a week. i got 3 of the gods and one dragon and all of them were the ones my friend wanted ahahah i have good luck in games i dont play for long
lad: pretty solid game. i like the combat but the story was pretty eh to me. i like the mc tho

I am a fan since: 2017, I got it for Christmas in 2016 so I always just say '17
Favorite Game of the series: By virtue of simply replaying it the most, three. I really love the combat in it so I've played it near thirty times? But all time fave would have to 1 because of the aesthetic, tone, and story. There's something about first discovering a world which is what me1 is about.
MShep or Femshep? Gotta go with Femshep. I have played both, its just hard to capture the male shepard image I have in my head in the character creator so Femshep it is.
Earthborn, Colonist, or Spacer: earthborn! My main Shepard Jenn is earthborn so that's what I'm going with. Though, I have numerous Shepard's are various background combinations. I have feelings about each background trust me
Biotics or tech: Both! Though I really do love biotics, you can do some cool stuff with them, setting up and detonating both biotic and tech explosions.
Paragon or Renegade: I have to repeat what nowandthane said, paragon choices, renegade dialogue.
Favorite Class: Sentinel. I love the versatility of the class, but I do have an affection for Infiltrator because that's what got me through me2 on insanity.
Favorite Companion: Tali. By story value, Javik. He's like one of the most important characters
Least Favorite Companion: Javik, throw your attitude out the airlock. IM JOKING! (he has every reason to be like he is. I love him very much) Liara is my answer though only because I don't like some of the story choices the devs did with her. (ex: why does she have Shepard's armor in a display case when i didn't even romance her??? I can't mention this at all??)
My squad selection: For Jenn's playthrough: Wrex/Tali in me1. Garrus/Mordin/Miranda generally in me2. Thane and Miranda/Samara for the collector base. Kaidan/Javik/James in me3. Of course, I mix it up based on story aspects and the difficulty settings. But me3 is pretty fixed bc I always play on insanity.
Favorite in-game Romance: Tali and Garrus. I'm a sucker for awkward, wet cat of a man like Garrus is. But Tali's romance man.... her parting line to Shepard during the beam run "I have a home" makes me insane actually
Other pairings I like: Obligatory Nihlus/Shepard/Kal (and the duos within in this throuple) mention here. Other than that, Joker/Miranda and Joker/James, Ashley/Garrus, and Shepard/Wrex, I could list a whole lot so I'll keep it to those ships lol
Favorite NPC: Nihlus and Kal'Reegar for sure. Victus and of course Niftu Cal our favorite biotic god.
Favorite Antagonist: Saren. He's the best one that we get in all three games (Harby could have been number one if they did anything with him in three but that's a rant for another time lmao)
Favorite Mission: Haestrom/Tali's Loyalty mission because that's when I get to see Kal <3 and blow up a colossus with the Cain. Also, the Collector Ship mission I have to mention because it's frankly the only mission besides the two previously stated where I've loaded up the save to play it on insanity when I'm bored. It's fun. Of course, this is with the Infiltrator.
Favorite Loyalty Mission: Tali for numerous reasons. Kal mention here. But I love the insight into Quarian culture we get. Also we see that fire in her when she's talking to the Board which I always appreciate. Along with her dialogue at the end, "I got better, Shepard. I got you." and then on the ship afterwards, "I don't think life is about what we deserve." I love her so much.
Favorite DLC: Leviathan. Only because of the horror aspect.
Control, Sythesis, or Destroy? Destroy. I have so many issues with the ending and that's the least worst option in my opinion so. (I too ignore that it wipes out the Geth and Edi fuck that)
Favorite Weapon: The M-90 Cain or the M-99 Saber aka the "Big Iron". Lancer in three was my favorite weapon before I found the Saber. Special mention to my bud the Mattock, I have been convinced of its glory. I do not think the Harrier is better anymore lol which my brother would be happy to hear
Favorite Place: me1 Citadel my BELOVED.
A quote I like Quotes I Like: The ENTIRETY of Sovereign's dialogue on Virmire GOD ITS SO GOOD!!!! / "Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters. The silence is your answer." / "Does this unit have a soul?" / "Just followed your example, Shepard. Yell loud enough and eventually someone will come over to see what all the fuss is about." / "I won't let fear compromise who I am." / "I MADE A MISTAKE!" / "Help me out here, Shepard. The line between friend and foe is getting a little blurry from where I stand." / There are so many great quotes in these games I could go on and on but I'll stop myself

as a FFXIV player I am VERY curious to learn more about bastion’s lore!!! Is there anything you’d be able to share?? Like, maybe for example.. what are his canon classes and when/why did he pick each of them up?

SO this will maybe be kind of a partial answer because its an aspect of his character stuff im actively working on (ignore the fact i did write a small essay under the readmore)!! i wanna try to start actually answering asks or floating ideas even if its not 100% set in stone bc knowing myself ill get too caught up wanting to replay the entirety of msq and read everything three times to make sure i know Exactly what im talking about. and if i do that it will take 50 years to get anything done or answered <:3
that being said. tldr im playing around w the idea of his canon classes being
- realm reborn: acranist/summoner
- heavensward: red mage
- stormblood: samurai
- shadowbringers: dark knight/black mage
- endwalker: paladin
more thoughts under the cut :3 im certain i missed smth obvious.
for context before i start truly yapping in game ive mostly stuck with samurai bc i was too scared to branch out and have only Just started scratching the surface w other classes.... to say nothing of actually getting into the job quests and stories and whatnot. plus i played thru arr/hw/a lot of stb Literal Years ago before taking a huge break and only just returning recently... so a lot of early msq is truthfully fuzzy for me.. (=w=) all that being said.
the only thing set in stone right now is bastions starting class with arcanist into summoner!! #limsagirlies <3333 while esp early game hes not doing well and is terrified of everything, he is forever and always defined by a desire to explore and learn things and didnt necessarily have the chance to do that at all with his pre msq circumstances, so i think the moment he had the opportunity to pick up a book and start learning things he took it and ran <3 also i just think its very fitting for his first step to be the "summon a friend so youre never alone" class. you know arr bastion is emotionally dependent on his carbungle :3
i do think towards the end of realm reborn he starts realizing how much shit hes in and comes to the conclusion he needs to get physically stronger too so i could see him starting to dip into red mage for heavensward so he can really get his hands on a weapon. still gets to stick to using magic but now he has a Sord <3 also red mage looks really cool.....
his class around stormblood is definitely gonna be samurai... id like to replay this general part of msq to really refresh myself i dont have too much to say lol and it feels like a rly obvious pick since its my actual main class in game... i think stormblood got the worst of my memory problems tbh
for shb i could see him starting out picking up dark knight (im thinking back in hw he messed with it a little meeting fray and whatnot but wasnt able to fully embrace it until now) though.... i can make it sad. so i will. his classes have been getting steadily more into physical combat and big swords but i think as shb goes on and he gets progressively more fucked up lightwarden style he starts to regress back into wanting to stick with spellcasting/becomes too weak to reliably fight physically the way he has been. (bonus points what if he tried to pick summoner back up but got too upset bc his emotional support carbuncle now looks about as corrupted with light as he does :3c.....) no i think itd be fun for him to pick up black mage around this point. i think clothing wise he probably also uses it as an excuse to start wearing more long robes and clothes that cover up what is happening to him so no one worries <3
a little uncertain past this point for endwalker though im leaning towards paladin (it helps that the lb3 for paladin is quite literally called Last Bastion). something something finally comfortable living up to his name protecting and fighting for what he believes in <3 also i ahm. ummm. i like the idea of him looking like a dashing little knight <:3 im sure gwaha does too.
and final note i took a break after finishing endwalkies so i have no real thoughts regarding post edw/dawntrail yet...
(truthfully i was SO interested in you talking abt clio n lorenzas classes a while back. it was so so in depth and interesting and i love the idea of hybrid classes or just one class picking up skills and flavoring from another and how they blend togther... i do think i need to get the barebones of bastions Everything down before i get into finer details like specific stances and skills and styles of fighting. but i was super looking at how you break down clio n lorenzas classes its so so good!!!)
