04/20/2025 Progress Update:
TLDR: About 1.5K written, we're at 26K drafted for chapter 6. Done with third section, now it's just fleshing out completed drafts of sections 4 and 5.
Sweeeet we got section 3 done. Now it's time to flesh out 4 and 5 and draft will be done. I have no eta on this because this is the last week of finals and I'll be pretty busy, but I'm hoping to get it done asap. YES SO HAPPY!!
Very sorry I didn't do a progress update yesterday. I wrote like a tiny bit (mostly just went over pre-written sections and moved around some things, small edits, that sorta thing) but then I started playing poker and got distracted lmaooo. I would call it fic research if I was not already done with the poker section. Just wanted to unwind and LORD I had so much fun. Won four tournament rounds and got second in two more. It's just Xbox poker so it's not that impressive but I still always love playing it, even in online form.
I fucking love poker. Have I said that enough lol? I don't think I'm the best at it, but I have a Texas Hold'em obsession and I am not ashamed lol. I would play it all the time if I had the option.
Anyway, I'm sleepy and getting the Sunday blues so we're gonna relax the rest of the night and get more writing done tomorrow. Looking forward to this chapter being done, we're getting there!! Sending all the good vibes your way for a lovely sleep and a better Monday.

coachella is my favorite time of the year if only because all the influencers and rich kids and the worst people you'll ever meet leave and the east village is enjoyable again. doubly so this year since it was gaychella so influencers AND gen z gays were gone. librae line took ten minutes tops. walked into [restaurant i'm gatekeeping] with minimal wait for brunch. this is bliss! can't wait for weekend 2!
#wasn't impressed by the croissant today at librae tho#i still think they're too big AND the espresso pain au chocolat is a classic flavor profile but not a good combo in execution#with the delicate buttery sweetness of the croissant the espresso comes up as an acrid and burnt note#which makes it hard to tell if its just espresso i'm tasting or if they burned the croissant lol#not what you want when eating a pastry that very easily burns to begin with#should have gotten the feta dill scone like a smart person which BANGS#anyway otherwise incredible day and the sun came out and i love being a hateful and spiteful new yorker <3

Yes, Choji has three starter pokemon evolutions on his team. I couldn’t help myself and neither could he, apparently. Choji’s definitely been abroad a fair few times, both before and after becoming his town’s gym leader, and it’s like he’s got a sixth sense for finding the pokemon in each region that are going to give him the biggest challenge. The rarest and most difficult to catch have all been starter pokemon so far (and Castform, which he may or may not have stolen/liberated from a weather research facility in Hoenn). Cinderace is his ace (ha) pokemon, and it’s… totally because he’s got the kanji for rabbit in his name (correct me if I’m wrong but that’s why everyone uses the rabbit emoji for him, right?). Also fire types just felt fitting for Choji. Bright and burning like the sun, just like him! Hence why Castform is perpetually in its Sunny Day form. Monferno matches his acrobatics in a fight and Torracat is for Shishitoren!
As for Litleo… gonna be totally honest here, I briefly forgot Torracat existed and thought this was the closest I was going to get to a tiger. And then I did find Torracat, and I thought about dropping Litleo from the line-up. The eyes, though. Litleo’s damn eyes reminded me too much of Choji, so I kept it. Also it’s cute and I can very vividly imagine Choji play-wrestling with it. And probably playing soccer/football with Cinderace. Choji would dominate in a lot of sports but I’m partial to soccer, so. Might as well tack that headcanon on.
(Also, hey. If my very tired brain is misfiring at the moment and shishitoren’s animal is a lion, not a tiger? I did Litleo on purpose)
Last but not least, Charcadet. I said this in another post but I literally have no idea what goes on in Scarlet and Violet. I don’t know if this is a rare pokemon, or one Choji could feasibly have without completing some plot-relevant quest. But we’re throwing logic out the window for this one because I took one look at Charcadet and said, yeah, that’s Choji’s. No need to look for a backup sixth pokemon, that’s him all over. Tiny fire child warrior!! No regrets.

I made a lmk oc
#they’re supposed to be some sort of experiment to see if people could recreate Sun Wukongs stone egg. the goal was to make a more controlled#and tame version using carved wood and cultivation. but eventually they got worried about it becoming too powerful and scrapped it#eventually they come to life and live in the abandoned temple they were built in#their bottom half is made of wood because when they came to life their creator/s left them unfinished when they scrapped the project#they had to carve the rest of their body out of hunger and frustration because they couldn’t eat or move much by crawling on their top half#this is also why they spite their creators and hate irresponsible creation. because of abandonment issues and feeling like they have no#purpose or direction in life#their power is also very limited to due being man made since they were originally a wood carving#meo gave me the idea but one reason would be because they’re half finished. the sculpture was still half stump so it was completely untouche#that half can channel power in its raw form but the other half cannot once it’s been carved by man#so technically they could have the same level or potential for power as the stone but that was dampened#the other thing is how they were created to be a duplicate or recreation of a stone monkey and a celestial looked at that and was like#‘we’re not doing that again’ LMAO#i think the case of them carving their own legs doesn’t take away their power though. that balance was made#before they came to life so carving the legs or not can’t affect it anymore. like making a cake and slicing it#their energy levels are also naturally low because of that so their movements are sluggish and they aren’t very active overall#constantly lying in the sun to charge their batteries and get some stuff done. just like me fr#I actually don’t know what I’m gonna do with this character besides Put Them In Situations with other ppls ocs.. so if you have#a lmk oc you have been warned /lh /j#I wanna make some backstory art for them though.. maybe even the animatic treatment if I can get through dear wormwood which is 25#SECONDS OUT OF 3 MIN BTW#doodles#Lego Monkie kid#lmk#Monkie kid#lmk oc#monkie kid oc#myart#my art#xin ya

#sometimes the sun is a twink and he loves you and he refuses to leave your brain apparently#he's just so fun! what if instead of knitting thneeds he spins water into clouds! and they can be anything bc they can be any shape!#i realize in hindsight i have a tendency to make characters that embody some aspect of nature and may or may not be a deity lol#so maybe the others could make an appearance! sunler playing a lyre or smth singing about them#the stars and how she knows the fate in the cards#the siblings summer wind and rain#the beast and her orchard#but of course ending with how he's totally cooler and more important than everyone else#and it turns out apollo is not only the god of the sun but also of art and music so it really fits him methinks!#i doubt i could ever pull off running an askblog. however#i like the idea of him causing mischief. oh someone wants this thing to happen? let's make it a game!#keep your friends close from epic comes to mind#i don't have much in the way of story but. there are these two scenes in my head that are SO good#i wanna talk about em so badddd but i don't wanna spoil in case i do something with em#but i will say that one of them is a really really fun reference >:D#and the line “RED IS THE NEW GOLD”#but anyways i think an important part of him is that he loves people. he loves these silly little humans running around more than anything.#because all of this ultimately stems from the idea of the sun missing you when you've been inside for a long time#wanting things to get better for you and being there to celebrate the little victories yknow?#my nonsense

As a third shift employee, and someone who is nocturnal by nature…
I have so much fun imagining the DCA w someone like that.
Especially if we go w the “Wi-Fi connected brain” route & I hit them with ‘yeah I think it’s like… delayed sleep phase something or another?’ & they look it up & gotta realize ‘damn you fr build wrong huh?’
Like… what now loser? Is sun gonna tuck me in? Moon gonna frolic w me? Or are we turning off/on the lights so the correct individual can do their “job”? Do I get a vote? Take turns?
Say “sucks to suck loser!” And forcibly tuck me in at 10p???

Shadow is giving me some real grief in the IAU, I know how he shows up and some of what he does after that but I have no clue what to do with him after the stuff in the second movie occurs
#*shakes him* I WANT YOU AROUND BUT I CAN’T DECIDE WHERE TO PUT YOU#I have how he shows up planned out pretty well but after that?? nope#do Time and Malon adopt him? maybe it would be better if Sky/Sun did instead?
