Other necessities such as tahini are marked at $13.38, a small bar of soap costs $5.89, and butter is priced at $4.01. These prices not only highlight the severity of inflation but also reveal the harsh impact of scarcity and restricted imports due to the blockade.

The economic devastation caused by years of war and isolation has crippled Gaza’s local industries, leading to widespread unemployment and poverty. Families are left struggling to meet their daily needs, while children, the elderly, and the sick bear the brunt of this humanitarian disaster. Healthcare, clothing, and adequate shelter are becoming distant dreams for many, particularly as winter approaches.

This situation demands urgent action from the global community. Efforts to lift the blockade, ensure the supply of essential goods, and provide financial aid must be prioritized to alleviate the suffering of those in Gaza.

-Gifts and acts of service is a subconscious thing for him that he doesn’t even realize he does and likes until he spots the shelf next to your bed filled with all the little things he’s made. Gold or silver jewelry [he quickly figured out which one was favorite through trial and error you didn’t even notice], little metal flowers he’d welded with his fingers, which were literally made with love. There’d be things like lollies and packets of gum he’d realized you liked and promptly bought when he went out, fairy lights he’d made in the shape of hearts, candles with your favorite scents he’d made from when Hazel had a wax-y crafts phase, and more.

for your next poem/story (pt. 3)

CAULDRON

In understanding symbols, sometimes it is useful to simply look at the shape and see what it resembles.

The traditional cauldron represents nothing so much as the belly of a pregnant woman and, unsurprisingly, it is an important female symbol all over the world.

The circular shape of the cauldron gives another clue; the circle is a symbol of never-ending life and regeneration, and these themes recur repeatedly in stories containing cauldron symbolism.

The way the cauldron is used also gives a hint about its symbolic meaning.

Things are put into the cauldron, heated, and something different is taken out; the basic ingredients are transformed.

Therefore, the cauldron also symbolizes germination and transformation.

Traditionally, cauldrons have three legs:

The number 3 in this instance represents the triple aspect of the Great Goddess, or the three fates.

Shakespeare alludes to this when the three Weird Sisters—arguably the most famous witches in literature—cook up trouble at the beginning of Macbeth.

In pre-Christian literature, countless legends feature magical cauldrons, and it may be because of this that the cauldron has its witchy associations.

Celtic tales tell of cauldrons that contain an unending supply of food or of knowledge.

The dead are frequently thrown into a magical Cauldron of Rebirth and climb out the next day, alive once more.

Mythical warriors and heroes who died in battle are restored to life in this way.

Ceridwen (one of the most powerful witches in all of Celtic mythology and is typically depicted as simultaneously a mother and a wise woman) had a cauldron full of inspiration and magical powers.

CHNOUBIS

The Chnoubis is a hybrid creature, with the head of a lion and the tail of a serpent.

It was carved onto stones for use as an amulet, providing protection against poisons in particular.

Amulets featuring the Chnoubis date back to the first century and it is supposed that this odd-looking creature may be related to Abraxas, whose image was used in a similar way.

CLADDAGH

The Claddagh is a popular symbol, often incorporated into the design of rings.

Traditionally used as a wedding ring, it is so-called because it was originally made in a Galway fishing village of the same name in 17th century Ireland.

However, the elements of the design are much older, stretching back into pre-Christian Celtic history.

The Romans had a popular ring design, the Fede, which featured clasped hands.

“Fede” means “fidelity.”

The Claddagh symbol features a heart held by a pair of hands.

A crown usually surmounts the heart.

These features represent love, friendship, and loyalty.

CORNUCOPIA

Also called the Horn of Plenty, the cornucopia is often depicted in paintings and on friezes where it symbolizes the notion of boundless abundance, as flowers, fruits, sheaves of wheat, and other produce spill out of a hollow horn or a twisting basket woven in the shape of the horn.

The origin of the cornucopia is found in the Greek myth of Amalthea.

Amalthea fed the infant Zeus a drink of goat’s milk and was given the brimming goat’s horn as a reward.

Sometimes the infant Zeus is depicted being fed the milk from the horn itself.

The Cornucopia, as a symbol of a bounteous harvest, is also associated with Ceres, the Goddess of corn, and also with Fortuna, Goddess of good fortune.

CROSSROADS

In fairy stories and myths, it is often at the crossroads where mischief awaits, usually in the form of other-worldly spirits.

Effectively, the crossroads symbolizes the intersection of two paths, making four potential routes, and a place where a decision must be made, not only practically, but metaphorically too.

The X of the crossroads marks a spot where two worlds meet.

The origins of this story go back to African folklore, where a deity called Esu was the guardian of the crossroads.

When Christianity took over, these old Gods were, quite literally, demonized, and Esu was transformed into the Devil.

Hecate, too, personified as the Queen of the Witches, was called the Goddess of the Crossroads.

In Celtic mythology, corpses belonging to those considered “unholy” were buried at crossroads in order to prevent them coming back to life and because the crossroads was a Gate to the Otherworld. Gibbets were placed at crossroads for the same reason.

thinking about the life series and seasons.

3rd Life is the end of fall. Winter Is Coming and all that. life going into hibernation. only the last leaves still clinging to the trees.

Last Life is the dead of winter. the ground of the snow fortress covered in a layer of snow itself. the fairy fort protected by a grove of evergreens.

Double Life is mid spring, flowers all starting to bloom. the weather is perfect for farming, be that cows or crops or wardens. love is in the air.

Limited Life is hot, sickly summer. the salty ocean waves meet the shore. the wheat isn’t quite ready for harvest. the days feel both like they last forever and go by far too quickly.

Secret Life is fall once again, but not completing the cycle just yet. the leaves have only begun to turn. the slightest chill comes with the whispering of the wind.

The third fairy is Flora. She is a fairy of nature. And accordingly, I immediately compared her with Demeter, who is the goddess of the harvest and agriculture, presiding over crops, grains, food, and the fertility of the earth.  Demeter's attributes are sheaves of wheat or corn, baskets of flowers and fruits symbolizing the wealth and fertility of the earth, as well as poppies - symbols of sleep and death. According to legends, Demeter was the first of the earthly beings to harness a bull to a plow and plow a field. Then she threw oat seeds into the soil. People who watched the goddess's actions were sure that the grains would rot in the ground under heavy rains. But, contrary to their expectations, friendly oat seedlings appeared above the surface of the plowed field. Later, Demeter taught people how to take care of crops.

one  midsummer  night,  when  the  stars  seemed  brighter  than  ever,  a  son  was  born  to  the  royal  couple.  his  hair  shone  like  the  golden  whisper  of  a  wheat  field  at  twilight,  and  his  cries  rang  out  like  a  melody.  they  named  him  aurore,  for  he  was  as  radiant  as  the  dawn.  invitations  to  his  christening  were  sent  far  and  wide,  summoning  three  godfathers,  each  renowned  for  their  virtues  and  gifts.

claiming  he  wasn't  angry,  he  promised  to  bestow  a  gift  on  the  child  as  well.  aurore  would  grow  in  grace  and  beauty,  beloved  by  all  who  know  her,  but  on  his  sixteenth  birthday,  aurore  shall  prick  his  finger  on  a  spindle  and  die.

the  court  gasped  in  horror,  but  before  maleficient  could  be  caught,  he  fled  the  castle.  the  third  godfather  stepped  forward,  explaining  he  still  had  his  gift  to  give  and  even  though  he  couldn't  undo  the  curse,  he  could  soften  it.  aurore  shall  indeed  sleep,  but  his  slumber  will  last  only  until  one  who  truly  loves  him  finds  him.

in  their  sorrow  and  depair,  king  stefan  and  consort  leah  banned  all  spinning  wheels  from  the  kingdom  while  sending  aurore  to  live  with  the  godfathers  in  a  small  cabin  deep  in  the  woods  and  the  years  passed  peacefully,  though  aurore  was  kept  isolated  from  everybody  except  the  godfathers.  aurore  grew  into  a  young  man  of  extraordinary  beauty  and  kindness.  His  brown  hair  shone  like  a  gentle  harmony  of  earth  and  light  that  speaks  of  quiet  elegance  and  natural  grace,  and  his  laugh  was  a  balm  to  all  who  heard  it.  but  no  matter  how  joyous  the  days,  the  shadow  of  the  curse  loomed  ever  near.

on  the  morning  of  aurore’s  sixteenth  birthday,  the  castle  was  alight  with  celebration  for  he  was  to  return  home  in  the  night.  the  prince,  oblivious  to  his  fate,  wandered  the  woods  alone,  where  he  met  another  young  prince  -  one  who  he'd  dreamt  of  many  times  before.  excited  to  have  met  another  person  -  a  stranger  he  danced  with  in  a  dream,  excitement  bubbled  over.  but  as  time  passed,  he  knew  he  had  to  return  home  to  the  godfathers. 

with  his  birthday  and  return  imminent,  the  godfathers  told  aurore  the  truth  and  in  the  early  evening  hours,  the  sun  just  setting  on  the  horizon,  they  started  the  journey  back  home.  unbeknownst  to  them,  maleficient  had  not  stopped  looking  for  the  young  prince  and  he  had  his  eyes  and  ears  all  around,  catching  them  going  back  to  the  palace.  heartbroken  by  exchanging  one  cage  for  another,  aurore  hid  in  his  room,  wanting  to  be  left  alone,  but  evil  found  him  once  more  and  lured  him  upstairs  where  a  spinning  wheel  awaited  him.

soft  whispers  drew  him  closer  and  closer  and  the  young  prince  reached  out.  the  spindle  pricked  his  finger  and  as  the  first  drop  of  blood  fell,  the  curse  took  hold.  he  collapsed,  his  breathing  slow  and  steady  as  sleep  claimed  him.  the  godfathers  had  been  searching,  but  unfortunately,  they  found  the  young  prince  too  late.  distraught  and  unsure  how  long  it  would  take  for  true  love  to  find  young  aurore,  the  godfathers  enveloped  the  entire  castle  within  an  enchanted  forest,  its  thorns  impassable  to  all  but  those  brave  enough  to  seek  the  sleeping  prince.  within  the  halls,  time  slowed  to  a  crawl,  ensuring  aurore  would  awaken  as  youthful  as  he  had  been  the  day  he  fell  asleep.

the  prince  lay  in  deep  slumber  for  years,  his  face  serene  -  untouched  by  the  passing  of  the  years.  the  kingdom  whispered  his  story  far  and  wide,  many  ventures  to  find  him,  drawn  by  the  tales  of  his  beauty  and  grace,  but  none  who  attempted  to  breach  the  thorns  ever  returned. 

and  so…  ends  the  tale  of  aurore,  the  sleeping  prince,  for  his  story  is  not  one  of  endings  but  of  beginnings.  somewhere  beyond  the  forest’s  edge,  his  savior  may  yet  be  born,  their  destiny  entwined  with  his.  until  that  day,  he  dreams,  unbroken  and  unbowed,  waiting  for  love  to  stir  him  from  his  slumber.

until,  seven  years  later  -  once  more  on  his  birthday  …  someone  beats  the  odds  and  wakes  the  sleeping  beauty.

the problem with my sdv farmer as a character in the fiction of the game is. i would just be telling the bachelorettes about my crop maximizing #strats just like i tell them to my partner (who hasn't played sdv since pre ginger island days) who has to listen to me even though. it's boring as hell. sorry girlie but if you plant wheat during the last week of summer as your non-multiple yeild crops mature and are picked. you don't have to till almost at all come fall. get back here, i need to tell you about the effect of flowers on honey production! you can do the same thing with sunflowers to transition into fairy rose and get more value during the growing period! just don't plant every space near the hives with sunflowers! put some wheat in there 4 days before fall 1 to make the aforementioned tilling skip work!!!

Also?? Within this research I also found out that Hawthorn is also a flower?? Like it’s a tree and a flower. They symbolize faith, fertility, and “the need to stay protected at all costs”. The trees are also sometimes called “fairy trees” because it was once believed that they could house fairies because the fairies favored the trees because they bore fruit, flowers, and had thorns for protection!

And Ya! Hawthorns have little berries and flowers! I love their symbolism too...

And I think its fitting that there are 2 types of Hawthorn in California, the English Hawthorn which is invasive, and the Black Hawthorn which is native (only to a tiny area but im taking my liberties hehe)
