Danny grumbles, going limp as the Spirit plucked him up, holding him out like some sort of stray cat. Their golden eyes stared across him, white hair shimmering and bloodied feathers rustling as they tilted their head. 

“You sure he’s not somehow ours?” Bludhaven asks again, setting him down once more to circle. Amity laughs, wild hair the color of wheat fluttering in a non-existent breeze and portal pulsing like a heart as she rests a hand on his head. 

“Well darlin’, I am asking if you would be open to adopting,” the Spirit laughs, the sound as familiar as the birds outside his window in the mornings. “Well, I suppose I could always ask your dear sister Arkham-” 

“No no, I would be honored,” Bludhaven smiled a literally sharp grin, something mischievous and violent about it in a way Danny was slowly growing used to. “I’m just- look at the little ghostling! He looks like he could be from ours! My hair, your eyes… he’s just missing markings…” 

“Markings he’ll get once you give me an answer darlin’...”

“OH- Yes, of course! Sorry, I got whelmed there.” 

“You have been stalking your vigilante a bit too much there Blud.”

not to go off topic but i think that ideal post-canon dungeon meshi situation for kabru is for him to simultaneously have a slowburn domestic cozy noodles and rare escapes to go monster hunting and falling asleep in the same bed situation with mithrun AND some sort of high politics high stakes power dynamics they can't escape, manipulation equally matched by hopeless affection, glances shared over council tables, getting caught in the closet with the king again (explaining basic social protocols to him) thing with laios.

then just as he's coming to terms with his own feelings and the possibility that they might be romantic he learns that mithrun and laios have in fact been carrying on some sort of psychosexual no-strings affair the whole time (mithrun sits on the dresser and dispassionately explains horrific and bizarre monster situations from around the globe while laios gets off seven feet away)

As of today (6/9/24) we are less than a week out from Download festival. Download festival is sponsored by barclaycard, which has directly funded Israel in their assault on Palestine (more info on that here, here, here, and here). Fall Out Boy is currently set to headline this festival, and many other bands are set to perform throughout the weekend. Over the last few months I know many of us have been reaching out to the labels of these bands, particularly fall out boy, and urging them to reconsider their participation in this festival. With no word from any bands on withdrawing their participation, it is very possible they will not - whether due to contracts/prior agreements, not being adequately educated about this issue, or something else altogether. Regardless of the reason, I will be very disappointed in every band involved.

I encourage all of you to send another round of messages this week, not only to Fall Out Boy but to any band on this schedule that you enjoy (a possible template is written out here, as well as contact info for fob’s label/management teams). Some of these bands, such as Pinkshift and the Used, have been vocal in their support of Palestine in the past. Reach out to these bands too. Urge them not to participate in this festival.

Regardless of the outcome, I plan to use the weekend to focus in on sharing ways to give to Palestinians through fundraisers, or highlighting stories of those in Gaza. I will not be blogging about any of the bands sets/music/members/etc or otherwise giving “airtime” to this festival or anyone involved, but instead elevating Palestine and its people and sharing ways to help.
