Hi Cat 👋! Woooah this latest chapter thoooooooo so much happened, I’m actually a little lost for words.🤧

The flashback was amazing, like I know you said your fave was the first one but like I genuinely think each flashback per chapter gets better than the last. Tho that could be because we get more context each time and also more interactions with the brothers which I’m fucking dying for. Speaking of you don’t know how many times I had to stop, put my phone down, and take a breather for this chapter lol, because of all the interactions we got.

The beginning flashback was such a good insight into how the brothers are so concerned for us, they only wanna protect us, tho they doing it in a dumb way. But has me wondering if they want to protect us because they care so much (which I highly assume is that) however I bet they’re just telling themselves they need to protect us because they owe us for helping them out so much. All these flashbacks showing the early stages of our relationship with the brothers just makes me so excited to finally get to see when their feelings for us come across as genuine and they understand their own feelings for us, like when it finally smacks them in the face lol.

Damn so much is going on and becoming overwhelming I feel so stressed irl for us. We’re stuck working with ppl we don’t want to, we have to distance ourselves from our fave boys, we have a whole ass ghost after us; I don’t even know how we going to get ourselves out of all this shit. When we got caught by Ran and Rindou I just wanted to cry to them and ask for help and to take us away. So glad that they instantly recognized that we were lying, and hope they stick with it too. Asdfjkl I can’t even with all the wordless conversations we had with the brothers I fucking love it, this is peak connection between characters and we love to see it. The chase scene had me hyperventilating it was so good, kinda gave me omegaverse predator and prey vibes and I eat that shit up.

I don’t know if it’s a good or bad thing that Hanma knows about us and the brothers, good because he doesn’t seem to want to tell on us yet, bad because he could use it as blackmail. Which if he has plans to blackmail us makes me think he’s also just here with this group with his own ulterior motives like Senju seems to have, wonder what game he’s playing cuz we all know he just wants to be chaotic for funsies. Also, YEESSSSS pls keep the jealousy over us being near Hanma and South going I love this shit so much hehehe😈 . Also, hella curious why Hanma wants to hang all over us all the time, can’t tell if he’s doing it as a way to intimidate us or make us uncomfortable to put himself in an “elevated” position over us psychologically. Or maybe he just thinks we’re hella cute and this is his odd way of flirting, both work tho I like both lol.

The explosion omg, Senju was in the basement so I wonder if she was a part of setting it off or not, I really hope she’s ok I want her as an ally😟 . Also where is our baby Ran? While I don’t believe he’s dead he could be seriously injured and I don’t want that for our boy, please I beg🥺 . I’m assuming Hanma is the one who threw himself on us since he was just beside us but still unspecified, maybe South? Hopefully, he made it back in time to help us or at least I hope so.

I.. I’m kind of at a loss for words. I’m. That’s it, huh? It’s really over. It doesn’t FEEL over. There’s so much unfinished business. Well, the only way to really neatly wrap everything up as neatly as S1 did would have been to get ALL THE WAY through the Garou arc, which obviously wasn’t going to happen, but this is not a great spot to leave off if we’re going to endure another few years hiatus. My hope is that, with biweekley manga updates, we should wrap up the Monster Association/Garou stuff (assuming it doesn’t diverge from the web comic too much) some time next year, and I’m HOPING that s3 is already being planned accordingly along side manga publications. So MAYBE it will at least be announced around that time 2020. That’s my wishful thinking at least. I don’t think I can survive 3 years. anyway

You could really tell JC Staff poured their hearts and souls into these last 2 episodes. Absolutely gorgeous, paced well, so completely satisfying and making every second of s2 worth while. For me, at least. I’ve already seen people still complaining and I’m just sorry they didn’t have as much fun as I did. 

Seriously, thank each and every one of you guys. This has been a wild ride, I’ve barely had this blog a few weeks before season 2 started airing (and honestly just got into opm maybe a month before that?), so I owe a lot of the success on the blog to the anime I bet. This was the first series I’ve never tried live bogging, and I honestly can’t believe that they were as popular as they were? Especially since I never have any idea what I’m doing but yall listen to me ramble anyway?? Yall are crazy thank you so so so much. Now my tuesdays are gonna feel really empty… next week is gonna be weird as hell. Though I’m gonna get mad nostalgic good vibes rewatching this season in the future in no small part from sharing my experience with everyone who's stuck around. And grrr why do my tastes in manga/comics run to the less known? It’s so hard to find fellow fans and fanworks for the stuff I like... TTATT

There’s this one manga series I’ve been following since the translations first came out early last year. It’s called I Opened a Cafe in Another World (Isekai de Kafe wo Kaiten Shimashita). I absolutely love it! Its super refreshing compared to most of the Isekai novels/manga I’ve read, and it’s a pretty drama free slice of life series which makes it relaxing to read. I also really love the slow paced romance it has going on so far?? Like there’s almost no hint of it yet, tho romance is listed as one of the genres, and I totally ship MC and her employee/student/ex-knight like aaAAAAA they’re so cuteeeee!!!

I’m honestly so thankful for the new translators who picked it up since we got no new updates for almost a year. Hahaha what did I even take formal-ish Japanese lessons for 3 years for? I can’t even read this stuff for myself! Vocabulary is the hardest part of learning any language :/

Fairy Tail ch 526 & 527 rant

I haven’t done the rant post for 526, so I decided to combine it with 527 because I definitely have a looooot to say about these two.

*WARNING* This post contain spoilers so if you haven’t read it yet and don’t wanna be spoiled, get out. Oh, and this is a long ass post so if you want to read. Please just bear with it. It’s a rant post after all. Lol Okay, so here it goes

Ch 526 Three words. MAJOR PLOT TWIST. And just WHAT?! Who would’ve thought that August was actually THE ACTUAL SON of Zeref and Mavis?? I mean this whole time, us readers was somehow led to think that Larcade was actually the son right. But then Mashima-sensei just twisted it up and boom surprise motherfuckers. Something like that. I gotta hand it to Mashima-sensei tho, he really did a good job. Messing with our brain. I can’t help thinking about all those fanfiction & fanart on Zeref, Mavis, & Larcade little family tho. What they thought was the truth turn out to be a complete lie (Sorry I kinda want to laugh but I get why some people are pissed but I can’t help it LMAO! Sorry 🙏). Personally, I’m not upset about it. This chapter explain really well on August’s background (how sad it is that both Zeref & Mavis didn’t know that they have a son 😭) and though not exactly fit, it somehow made much more sense. Tho there a few questions that lingers, but I’m not so confused as before. I mean take Precht. So Precht (who later become Hades) knew it all, right. I just can’t help but question why and how he fell to dark magic if he knew about it all. This might not exactly related but it’s just sad that he later becomes Hades and becoming a baddie. I mean he had a role in this, so he knew about it all and why did he fell to darkness? I guess I’m just curious. So apparently, I was wrong about the whole August & Larcade thing (if you read my 525 rant post you know what I’m talking about). It’s not that August was angry with Zeref because he abandon Larcade and how August actually care and act like a father figure to Larcade. That’s totally not it because well he is the son lol. Oh, and I was also wrong about the battle between Larcade & Sting. I went back a few chapter and Sting apparently just whooped Larcade’s ass. How did I miss that? Lol. Regarding Larcade, so he was one of Zeref’s demon. In Zeref words “The ones that turned out best was given the name Dragneel”. Okay, that explains why he was like all “Father, father” on Zeref and why Sting said he has the same scent like Natsu. Just like Natsu, Zeref made him. But doesn’t that mean he doesn’t know?? He actually thought he was really his son? And Zeref just had to attack him? Poor guy 😭. Oh, and the memes about “Everybody is Dragneel” was hilarious lol. Overall, ch 526 was quite a shock alright but it somehow the plot twist put FT back on track. It’s no joke that the story almost become ridiculous and didn’t make sense but this plot twist is a good thing. Mashima-sensei still needs to do some explaining but I have a lot of hope and pumped to know what will happen next (that is until I read ch 527, and it all went to shit)

Ch 527 WHAT.THE.FUXK. LIKE WHAT THE HELL ASDFJKL?!!🐗💨 It’s easier to break it down in points, so let me break it down: 1. Larcade’s death. WHAT THE HELL? So he really died? And Zeref killed him. Just like that? I get why Zeref did that, it’s his curse of contradiction (pointed out on how he was shaking after he killed Larcade and said “I ended up killing everyone I love). I just can’t 😭😭😭😭😭

2. Natsu’s acknowledgement & stuff Natsu finally called Zeref “Brother”. Okay. Not really a big deal for me. I was right tho on how Natsu be like “how can you do that to your nakama” and that usual power up and they gonna fight ‘till whatever. And apparently Mavis knew how to defeat Zeref which only (surprise surprise) Natsu can do (and how exactly nakama power up? He didn’t have Igneel’s secret weapon anymore) and there is a way to save Natsu which involve “Friends” a.k.a Nakama. Yawn.

3. August’s death NOW THIS WAS TOTALLY UNCALLED! Okay Mashima-sensei, maybe you need to kill him too in order to make the story more interesting or just maybe for the sake of fucking with our feelings I don’t know. But, why was his death was so sudden?? And how?? HOW DID HE EVEN DIE. So after he was about to emit some insane Magnolia-destroying magic, he glance at Mavis and then he just die???? This is very anti-climatic and beyond stupid! This is the thing that turns me off the most. Not to mention when August said “At least once I want to be held by you, Mom” wasn’t tear-jerker enough. It just pointed out that Mavis has ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA and after he died, poof nothing. Zeref & Natsu still fighting. The FT mages were busy again on battles and defeating the enemy. Bleh. August’s strory was way too rushed and he deserve justice! This is not justice!

Ch. 527 was pretty much shit. Just when I thought things gonna make sense, it all falls down and nope. SMH. Idk what to feel about upcoming chapters, a lot of thing were rushed, but this chapter just went too far and I think just really idiotic. I just hope that Mashima-sensei will eventually execute it perfectly and it could all end fairly well.

Very funny because literally today I revamped/remade the A Modern Ghost Story playlist b/c the original didn't have the right vibes. This story is very much just Vibes atm for the most part (at least, aside from Roach), but I will share some of the Vibes Tunes. And also I will share a song or two from the separate Roach Playlist,,,,,, because yes I made a Roach playlist.

Actually one of my favorite things to do, as a lot of people I talk to on discord can attest to, is to take songs from my playlists and analyze them/explain why they relate to that story. I might...do a little of that... here.... Not to the extent that I usually do, but some of it.

So the first vibes song that I will share is The Perfect World by Marty Friedman! Just in general the vibes of apathy towards faith and accepting death, and like. Saving yourself and creating our own perfect world instead of relying on external forces... yeah <3 That vibes a lot.

Some lyrics I think are particularly fitting:

Broken people, broken feelings Feeling numb but know they're bleeding Light and darkness bond together "Faith will save you" (Yeah, whatever…)

And then also:

Sometimes we try to feel how things just used to be in yesterdays But never seem to believe in what we see today No one ever make it better, no one ever lives forever Wake me up and let me go

This song's vibes are Impeccable.

Aside from that, other songs that I think vibe pretty well are Along Came A Spider by Czesław Śpiewa (I know it's a song about World War II but the Vibes..... really feels like a good horror song in general), The Business of Paper Stars by Hawthorne Heights (which is apparently about the education system but I am relating it to my OCs because it's got good vibes <3), aaaaand Bird With a Broken Wing by Owl City (idk how to explain this one but just the vibe of like. the idea that ghosts in A Modern Ghost Story are just sad, lonely, scared people).

OKAY so now I want to share a Roach Song. The Roach song I'm thinking of is one I actually used to associate with a different character, but it's a Roach song now. That song is Kiss Me, Kill Me by Mest!!! Specifically I relate this song to their relationship with a character I've deliberately been kinda quiet about, Vulture!!! He'll be explained a bit more in part two of Vultures are Holy Creatures (the Roach Ramble).

The TL;DR of Roach and Vulture's relationship was that it was super nasty and toxic and codependent and it's the reason behind a lot of Roach's persisting self-esteem issues, and that's the vibe I get from this song </3 I'll share some lyrics I like tho:

And also:

I kinda wanna type up a full summary/analysis of Kiss Me, Kill Me and why I think it fits Roach and Vulture, but I'm gonna wait at least until after I finish part two of Vultures are Holy Creatures.

Anyway to round this off, rather than sharing a bunch more Roach songs, I want to share songs that make me think of the other characters. Because I feel bad about how much I latched onto Roach. I won't share lyrics for all of them, I'll just share the song and explain it briefly.

Sydney Ambrose - Toxic Thoughts by Faith Marie (vibes of Syd's struggles to live up to their own expectations and their relationship with themself) (Fun fact this is also a good song for my OC Ink, but he's not in this story, and that's for very different reasons)

Yara Key - I Don't Daydream Anymore by Unlike Pluto (the vibes of this song are kind of wild but they make me think of Yara's desire to live her life to the fullest and enjoy it while she can rather than dwelling on what comes after)

Oliver Cox - It's Alright by Mother Mother (vibes of Oliver struggling a lot with his own mental health but putting off helping himself in favor of helping others, and him struggling with doubt but still trying to stand strong and have confidence in himself)

Vincent Cruz (new guy) - TV Head by Elliot Lee (vibes with Vincent being raised with very strict standards that he couldn't quite live up to and his need to lie to make others think he's something he's not so they'll like him)

Juno London - Dead Girls by Penelope Scott (honestly could vibe with most of the voids, but for Juno I relate this song to Juno's self-hatred that they mask by being an asshole to everyone, as well as the fact that they aren't a very empathetic person but still make the choice to show compassion, even if their methods are unconventional)

Asher King - Cradles by Sub Urban (also a song that applies to most of the voids, but for Asher this makes me think of her desire to mask her true feelings from others and come off as always cool, collected, and competent)

Apollo - Sleepwalk by Forrest Day (this song once again fits all the voids but for Apollo specifically I think this song fits his struggles trusting himself and his own perception of reality)
