Reasons why Season 8 of 911 (so far) sucks:

Bobby and Athena are aimless

They have no house. The logical development is for them to look for one, one for their future. That is theirs. Where are the house hunting woes? The disageeements and compromises? Are they ever going to have a chance to find a place they both love? Or build one, even?

Athena's job description is all over the place

She's giving school talks. She's conducting traffic stops. She's escorting a prisoner across state lines. She is mentoring new officers. She's a goddamn Sergeant but what is her job scope? Every single thing requiring the presence of police, apparently!

Hen and Karen have little direction for growth

The Mara adoption issue could have brought out more of their relationship, developed them in terms of relying on each other through a difficult time. The storyline with Ortiz could have really delved into the struggles of the foster care system, and how Hen and Karen broke rules designed to protect the kids. (Seriously, if a child is removed from a foster family, it's logical not allowing the foster parents to meet the child that was removed for the safety of the child). Where was the appeal to Ortiz as a mother? Where was the struggle? Where is the tension between the Wilsons and the Hans? Instead there was a Deux Ex Gerrard. And I am not even gonna start on the whole "why didn't you take leave for Halloween" shit, that stuff should have been settled when Denny was a baby. What are their next steps? Same old same old?

Gerrard is a joke

An established bigot and racist returns. He could have been a great way to show how the 118 has grown beyond him and his bullying. Instead they're cowed by him, and lets him yell at Buck? Whatever happened to the "who cares" courage in Season 7? And he gets the reward of his dream job?

Eddie is still not healed

He emotionally cheated on his girlfriend with his dead wife's doppelganger. Has he even processed what that actually means? No! His son moved to Texas. Has he coped with the loneliness in his house? Who knows? Certainly not the audience, since we don't see him go to therapy or, hell, have a full breakdown! He confides in people who aren't his friends, let alone his so-called best friend! Bobby gave him a prayer book but we don't even hear Eddie rage at a God who keeps putting devastation and challenges in his way. What wa the point of the prayer book then? He just danced in his underwear and somehow that made him smile and now he's moving across the country and, what, giving up on his home and his job? Is that really healing, Edmundo Díaz? Or are you just running from the problem again?

Chimney has no internal or external motivation

He was providing for Mara for a few months. Was he stressed about it? Did he think about seeking a promotion for a higher salary? Also, he is an immigrant. Does that influence how he teaches Jee? Has he and Maddie, white suburban raised Maddie, ever discussed the potential problems Jee might face? Or whether they wanna include some Korean culture in Jee's education, since they gave her a Korean name? Does he ever think about any of these issues? Is he at all conflicted? What does Chimney want?

Maddie

She was the one who wanted to meet Tommy. Has she done so outside of the wedding? What was her opinion of him? Is Maddie content to stay in Dispatch in the exact same position? Has she any career ambition? And about Jee: does she never think about the Korean part of Jee? Connecting to her own culture? Learning Korean, maybe? That would have been interesting because perhaps she wants her daughter to connect to that part of her roots but Chimney doesn't, for his own reasons. Also, if she wants to have a second kid, why didn't she discuss it with Chimney outright before the pregnancy? Was she not taking the pill? Were they careless again? What would she do if Chimney didn't want a second child? Abort? Given how the first pregnancy was traumatic for the whole family, including her brother, this development is showing her to be pretty self-centered, frankly. I don't know this Maddie. She's not the same one that gave Buck her Jeep to escape, knowing that she'll be hurt by an abusive husband.

Why is airtime devoted to a character that is barely connected to the 118? What is the reason behind giving him so much focus? Is he supposed to quit acting and become a firefighter or something? What is the rationale for his existence?

What happens to Teen Fushiguro in the Shibuya Arc after Kenjaku & Mahito kidnap her?

Ah yes, I forgot about this one. Okay, so I imagine that they take you underground or wherever their lair is and like idk... cast spells on you to keep you from using your powers against them. You continue to threaten them, hurl insults at them and they find it amusing because 1. You're a child 2. You don't even know how easily they could kill you. 3. You're a child, why are you trying to fight the boss fights??💀

Anyways, you grow on them and they do end up becoming yanderes for you too. I mean, Kenjaku is like grandfather/guardian figure to you, and if like Getou is still alive/concious inside him, then he's like an uncle/godfather figure to you. They're bothe very protective, Getou more than Kenjaku, while Kenjaku is more like those veteran granddads who want you to become the best version of yourself and be independent, so they don't help you unless they absolutely do need to step in, but nevertheless love you. And once you do learn whatever skill/lesson he wanted you to, or actually become independent, he does not want you to use those new skills or become independent and stop relying on him for "protection" (even if u don't want it in the first place) or leave him/try to replace him. Nuh uh.

Same goes for Getou too, only he's far more gentle with you. Of course he wants you to be stronger and independent too, but he's far more likely too jump in to help you way before any true harm befalls you. He's softer in his lessons, always has that gentle smile on his face as he dodges whatever attack you launch on him. Encouraging words as he pats your head while you're on the ground trying to catch your breath.

As for Mahito, he's much more like an annoying older brother who bullies you for shits and giggles but God forbid if anyone else hurts you. I mean he'd still make fun of you for getting hurt, but rest assured whoever harmed you is now obliterated.

Your time with them is spent with Kenjaku provoking you and finding whatever it is that makes you tick and then having you spar with curses or with Mahito (who takes great joy in being a jerk). And sure, compared to all of their other victims, you're in "paradise," but in reality, your mental is taking a plunge very fast. Because Kenjaku and Mahito have realised your trigger point-

Abandonment issues.

So they use that against you. Everyday, they tell you that your father left you, that Megumi never fought hard enough for you because he didn't like you, that Gojo knew Megumi had a sister but he didn't take you in with him, and that the Zenin clan did consider you a nuisance which is why they let Gojo take you to Jujutsu High, just so that Gojo can use you as a weapon.

And sure, you'd argue that none of it is true but when a lie is told enough times, it starts to feel like the truth. So with the constant feed of negative words and being cut off from the outside world, reader couldn't help but believe all those lies, and that's how her self esteem and mental health took a turn for worse. She becomes more isolated, more quiet, more... dead. She lacks the energy to fight off those curses, not even fazed as they come a little too close to actually killing you (obv Kenjaku or Mahito step in before they can). And this is the point where they think that now that they have broken you down, they can start building you up again... and have you join their side of the battle. Of course, you're still against that, just not putting any actual effort into reacting to them, but then... they bring Megumi.

Or well, Sukuna occupying Megumi's body.

You instantly recognised them both- recognised the shift in the energy, recognised the monster who was disguised as your brother and you broke down. Fell to your knees, sobbed hard enough for your body to shake until Sukuna gathered you in his arms and moved to a private space, away from prying eyes.

You cried and cried, and Sukuna didn't need you to actually say anything for him to understand. You were mourning for your brother, who you knew has a target on his back now that he was Sukuna's vessel, who wouldnt be leaving him so easily. He just patted your back and assured you that everything will be alright if you just listen to him, made you remember how he promised that he'd always be there for you, made you promise to stick by his side and nothing bad will ever happen to you.

"Sukuna?" Your teary voice croaked, the curse king hummed in response. "Promise you won't hurt Megumi? Won't let anyone else hurt Megumi?"

Despite everything, you still cared for your brother. You didn't really need him, but the way you begged... Sukuna didn't have the heart to say no.

"Okay. Only if you listen to me." You nodded, sniffling as you rested your head against his shoulder.

From there on, I think that Kenjaku will continue to help you weild your powers to become the perfect vessel for Sukuna (who has actually no intention of using you as a vessel, no he just wants you by his side for eternity, all for him to spoil and pamper). You follow Sukuna's rules, stay indoors and only come out when he let's you accompany him, sometimes he'd let you enter his domain expansion so that you could meet Megumi, who tries to convince you run for your life and don't worry about him.

Now, I like to think that a point comes when Gojo is finally free from the prison realm and is now ready to beat everyone's asses, and that's when Sukuna mentions how he has been having a good time with you, which only provokes Gojo to fucking murder him and even Megumi, before he finally decides to just beat his ass and look for you (probably when you stop Gojo from killing Megumi) and that's how Gojo ends up snatching you away as you scream for Sukuna to not kill Megumi, beg Gojo to let you go because Sukuna would kill Megumi if you're not there. And all of this sounds like Stockholm syndrome to Gojo and the gang, who again, keep you under lock and key.

A simple answer would be no. Because in a singular word, El Sin Nombre could easily say that her love was that one person who would place gentle kisses on her face and help her relax after a long day of dealing with shit at her job. Her love was that one person who kept an extra rubber band around her wrist just in case she needed to tie her hair, which usually rested in a overgrown bob around her face. Confessing to her was tougher than when you had to count money at the market for groceries, you were never good at math. Valeria would laugh and return you the change, coins clinging against each other after she sorted out the price of whatever trinket you wanted to buy, not without bargaining a little. Saw a little ring? Cannot be too much, a pretty girl like you deserves it. A small cat carved out of wood? You shouldn't pay, consider it as a gift from your best friend.

It wasn't until you were crying in her arms, tired of the world beating you down, that you realized how you much you had actually fallen for her. Yes, it was love indeed. Pure romantic love. i said i was gonna post about it and i am. i don't think william afton hates his kids. i don't think william afton is a mad scientist that kidnapped and put children in hallucinogenic gas chambers. whatever the fuck dittophobia said about afton doing all that, plus not stopping/furthering the bullying between michael and cc, is just dumb & wrong. william wanting his kids to fight, even die, is comically evil in the "bad writing" way. him being characterized as someone who experiments on children (including his own with no regard for their lives) in order to achieve immortality or whatever his supposed motivation is, is just really... nothing? as a character there is nothing to make him feel real. in an attempt to flesh out this character, they made him into a cartoon villain with "evil" being his only defining trait. whatever, i could talk for so long about how dumb i think all the dittophobia stuff is but i think most ppl on tumblr are on the same page regarding that.

to me, william afton is best characterized as someone who, at the Very Least, Doesn't Want His Own Children To Die. he can be a shitty father all around, or he can be a genuine loving father who is also a serial killer, as long as he Cares if they Die? most of what makes william afton an interesting villain, and where a lot of people interpret his motivation comes from, is how despite all his best efforts, he cannot prevent the death or downfall of his own family. he is in a tragedy of his own making, a self-imposed hell crafted by his hubris and violence. if you take this away, why should i care what happens to him? william afton was scariest when he was just purple guy and we knew nothing. william afton is most interesting when we have all these relationships and dynamics where we can seriously study and speculate the circumstances behind/around his actions, when he has something to lose (and will lose). william afton is most stale when more things are added to his story without purpose, filling in gaps that were better unfilled or we didn't even know were there – anything after UCN, basically. bro isn't scary anymore because he's either peepaw afton who's brought back despite his story being over, or he's cartoon network's newest over-the-top villian that you can't take seriously.

okay anyway. ANYWAY. william doesn't hate his kids. even if he's a shitty father, i think he still loves his kids. why else would he try and scare his kids away from the robots if he didn't want them to die? why would he design circus baby after his daughter if he didn't care for her, adore her, even? if you believe the theory that he talked to cc through the fredbear plush (idr if that's actually canon), why would he be trying to protect/comfort him?

i don't think he's a perfect, or even a good father, by any means. if you interpret him to be on the better side, that's great and fine. i'd love to hear how other people interpret/characterize afton if you wanna share! continuing on for this post, i'm going to lay out how i personally see william afton.

to me, he is someone who is very concerned and preoccupied with his image and how others view him & his family. even if he's super shitty and awful towards his kids, he at least cares that they all look good as a family unit, that they're well behaved, that he can send family portrait holiday cards to all his business partners and investors.

he strikes me very much as the typical authoritarian parent of the 80s. harsher on his sons because "men don't cry," wants his kids to say "yes, sir," and "no, sir," believes in "tough love," often says "my house, my rules," he has the final say in everything, maybe thinks hitting them from time to time is a normal, necessary punishment. not all entirely malicious, but thinks he's doing what's best, what's right, acting like a parent and father Should act, perhaps how he himself was raised. unfortunately, a very common parental mindset (even outside of serial killers). maybe he was a little scarier sometimes though, a little more unhinged or violently angry. who's to say.

but he's still just a guy who could exist in real life. he still eats dinner with his family every night, hangs his kids' drawings on the fridge, had to turn the car around because they wouldn't stop fighting in the backseat, attended awkward parent-teacher conferences, everything. he was once a new father who happily came home with his first newborn, lost countless nights of sleep over the course of two more, loves them because they're his.

meticulously and senselessly killed children, then came home and tucked his own into bed and kissed them goodnight.

he can be abusive and still love his kids. he can be a murderer and still care for his own kids' lives. maybe the loss of his own kids is what triggered his actions, or maybe it was something else. i'm fine with not knowing because we don't need to know everything, and it's more interesting when we don't.

Something Is Seriously Wrong With This Guy And We Don't Know What or Why. when acquaintances find out he's a suspected murderer, it should be shocking and upsetting. he's such a great man and father, he wouldn't murder those kids! when michael discovers his father's crimes, he should be in denial. sure, he could be scary sometimes, but he wouldn't kill anyone... right? there's a great cognitive dissonance between who he appears to be and who he actually is.

whether william descended into grief-induced madness and obsession, or was just always some kind of freak, or both, i don't think he saw his own family as disposable. even if he didn't truly love them, he at least needed to keep up his own facade as a friendly family man. personally i like to see him as someone who was a shitty father but still loved his kids, because people like that exist, and it makes him a much more interesting, realistic, and nuanced character than if he just didn't care about them At All.

So I've thought about it a lot, and I think I've figured out how I would "fix" whatever direction shinoa's character is going right now, and how it would support an overarching theme between her and yuuichiro without sacrificing shinoa's own agency

So to start off, I have two main points to my thought process. One to stay faithful to the arc with, and one I believe the arc is lacking.

1. Keep shinoa's motivations yuu-influenced

2. Let shinoa's actions center more on herself outside of her attachment to him

There's a whole other conversation to be had about the trend in ONS of female characters holding little-to-no agency outside of a man. In this particular case, I don't think yuu being the catalyst for her current arc is an entirely bad writing choice. Yuu is the main character, so he's going to have a big impact on the story and the trajectory of other characters. It also serves as a reminder to an early shinoa line:

Which I do believe is one of the best pieces of dialogue in understanding shinoa's character & how she parallels yuuichiro specifically.

As we know, shinoa grew up feeling that she was incompetent enough that her family 'abandoned' her, insignificant outside of her family name, that she has no actual will or value of her own. And we know this was mainly influenced by mahiru's abuse in order to protect her from the hiiragi family's curse.

Because of these emotional walls that shinoa has put up since she was little, she stands out in ONS as someone without any big goal/plan/desire. It's made a point in the series that characters have something they desire in their life, and that is their reason to stay living, despite how horrible the world has become. Whether that be to protect, save, or avenge a loved one, to be in control, or free to live their own life.

There is also obviously a link between desire & love in the series (familial, platonic, romantic, whatever) and shinoa is someone who has stated herself to have never known or crave any kind of love or validation. Yuuichiro was the one to break her out of that. Subconsciously or not, shinoa starts to crave the love and validation she never had before.

Much later in the story, shinoa learns about how much mahiru sacrificed for her. This didn't seem to change her belief that her life had value, as she still seems to put herself down in comparison to mahiru, but I do think it could've been a push in that direction. Or at least I wanted it to be.

Now, where my biggest hang-up starts with her arc. I do not agree with the insistence that shinoa's sudden motivation for living is because of yuu only. Yes, she admires him, he was the first person to make her feel genuinely valued. But I think it would be so much more meaningful to the story if her sudden "motivation for living" reflected this exact sentiment—

Furthering their parallels and allowing shinoa's struggle with validation to be explored outside of her attachment to yuu.

Again, it's very much what shinoa's arc is going for

She simultaneously believes she does not deserve any kind of love, yet she craves it all the same, and that's hurting her.

I just don't understand why this notion couldn't have extended to her squad. It could be so much more impactful in tying together a theme between her and yuuichiro, and her screentime would not revolve around lusting after him— because she has a whole friend group who value her just as much. She is their leader after all.

The whole "all girls fall in love at some point" thing that they're going for is flat and dumb from a writing standpoint, because I know it's just plain sexism and the author is not intentionally writing commentary on amatonormativity. I can't even tell if this is trying to be a love interest sideplot because yuu has not been shown to reciprocate anything other than friendship for her. So for my own sanity, I like to read it as a "the feeling was friendship but she had never experienced it before" type of thing.

If I were the writer, "all girls yearn for love" would be "all humans yearn for love", and it would not just mean romantic love.

Yuu would not be shinoa's motivation to live, but the catalyst to her finding it.

Shinoa's arc would still be about the human desire for love and validation, despite how undeserving you think you are of it. And it would not just cater to a love interest.

The Finn stole my baby AU

ok FINE you can all have the Eelfinn Stole My Baby in outline form

I've never pinned down the details on this, because I think it would be most interesting as an installment in a larger series and a lot of the details would be determined by the needs of the overall storyline, but this is the vague outline:

1) Fortuona has just found out from Min that her kid's going to be a marath'damane. Because a) SOME IDIOT (maybe Mat, maybe Berelain if they're on speaking terms, there's some other options depending on the scenario) made the mistake of telling her about Sindhol in some way that makes her actually believe in it, b) she's a slut for prophecy and always has been, and c) she wants to explore all her options, she wants to go to Sindhol to get some answers from the Aelfinn. The questions she intends to ask vary by setting but it's something along the lines of how to survive the current situation/protect her marath'damane child/solve the sul'dam problem/ensure stability of the Empire in the westlands/how best to reconquer mainland Seanchan. You know! #FortuonaProblems. Mat eventually agrees to escort her; both to get in, since the only way in right now is the Tower of Ghenji, and to get out.

2) But because they're going in outside of treaty rules and Mat's there, the Eelfinn are the ones waiting for them and they won't let Fortuona go see the Aelfinn (maybe they say that they won't see Mat, but they will see her, if she agrees to be escorted alone. Mat's almost like "oh, over my dead body" but catches himself just in time.) Whatever deal Fortuona makes with the Eelfinn involves something she can use to solve her existing political problems (not sure what this is but it could be something horrible, like a better male a'dam), and something for Mat (maybe a magic replacement eye?). The third item is either something else for her, something else for Mat, or a very thoroughly rules-lawyered escape clause, depending on how confident Mat was/she is about being able to escape with the ashandarai. In exchange, they take her about-to-be-born-child, which she either explicitly names as the price, or is counting on them taking as the price.

3) At least they're not gonna eat the kid; the Eelfinn want a human child who can channel to build them new treaty doors someday, and if the human child is raised by them and therefore on their side, so much the better. They're also thrilled to get another piece of Mat. I figure the Eelfinn would want the savor of Mat and Tuon fighting about this, so while there's a possibility that the world's least hygenic c-section happens before Mat cottons on to what Tuon just bargained away, I think it would be more likely that they don't strike until the price is explicit or Mat has figured it out.

Tuon's like "I understand that you're upset but it's better this way. I came to solve a problem. It's not solved the way I intended, but it's solved and I got you an incredible boon in the bargain. We can always have more children."

Mat's like "Yeah, well, you aren't having them with me! You're a monster for unilaterally trading our child to my eldritch enemies."

She's like "If I'm a monster, so are you. As soon as you found out she would be marath'damane you began setting plans in motion to take her from her destiny. From the empire. From me. Don't think I haven't noticed. At least in this situation, I'm getting something out of it that benefits both of us."

4) I honestly don't entirely know what happens next, but it's bad. Unstoppable force (Mat's desire to rescue women & his love of Tuon) meets immovable object (said woman/Tuon just betrayed him and his innocent child to his worst enemies). Would he just leave Tuon there? (maybe?) Would he try to trade Tuon's life for the baby's? (I like this because I like pain and I think he might be deranged enough in the moment to do it) Would he try to trade his life for the baby's? (maybe, but they wouldn't accept it.) Would he try to kill all the Eelfinn? (yes, and they'd still take the baby.) Like how the fuck do you recover from any of that? And the worst part is you can like… sort of see where Tuon is coming from, if you enjoy women's wrongs? And she really just wanted to meet the Aelfinn and it's Mat's fault that it isn't going as planned?

5) If there's a sequel, it would be the fully grown child showing up in their world with a terrifying knowledge of esoteric ter'angreal construction and thoroughly socialized as a *Finn some improbably short amount of time later. Maybe when Elayne and Mat mount a rescue mission in a few months. Time runs differently in Sindhol if the *Finn need it to.

Bonus: I'm still debating adding a variant of this to the epilogue of The Fox That Makes The Ravens Fly- for one thing, I haven't decided yet if Tuon is pregnant, and if she is, by whom. If I do it'll be Rand who tells her about the Aelfinn & Thom who tells her about the Eelfinn, she'll go in with Thom and someone else (Elayne, I think, in exchange for access to the dice-ring ter'angreal that replicates Mat's luck, also Elayne would love to go on that field trip, although I could see Min being interested for the metaphysics of it all), and the ostensible point is to rescue Moiraine. I think instead of that, she negotiates getting Mat back, at the cost of leaving her baby with them, and resetting the timeline so Mat never died and the canon events where Moiraine gets rescued happen, but she remembers the old timeline. I have no idea if the *Finn actually get to keep her baby, who may or may not be a sparker in this scenario, or for that matter if they get to keep Moiraine, but I bet they'd take the bargain regardless because they invested a lot in Mat & also now Tuon has some weird fucking emotions about the entire life she didn't lead. Also they're the fae, the only thing they like more than bargain eyeballs is bargain babies.

i think (and this is just personal opinion) a lot of the times wags are hated just because of who they're dating. most of the fans don't care about their problematic behaviour. they just use it to further their agenda. these fans are the same ones who make excuses for their favs (re: Lando fans defending his comments about Trump or max fans when it's brought up that max willingly supported Nelson Piquet and called lance stroll (or esteban) a mongol as an insult). but when it comes to these two driver's partners people will bend over backwards to drag them at any given point but don't reserve the same energy for the drivers (I'm not saying that the wags should not be criticised but a lot times the criticism is rooted in misogyny (like calling Kelly, "an old hag" or saying she looks ugly) there's so much they could've chosen from, but most of the time (from what I've seen; totally not saying that there is not valid criticism present about them not being a good person, supporting questionable leaders etc.)

also, this idolation of the exes. like that relationship is over, why are you still hung up on it? 😭 both the parties have moved on to different relationships, it's been a fucking year, give it up guys. especially with charles and charlotte and carlos and isa. the carlos fans (and a lot of gossip pages, other fans) call rebecca a prostitute or an escort and say how much better isa was to rebecca and how rebecca is not good for carlos yadda yadda as if sainz is not a 29 year old grown up who knows what's best for him. they behave as if rebecca has physically restrained him and is preventing him from doing whatever he wants. same with lando, as if he's not an adult who probably knows about his partner's actions and chooses to stay with them.

Was very invested in biology and anthropology. Enjoyed making crochet blankets and scarves. Was trying their best to get a job at the local library before it all stops. Current life: One of the many humans from the Phoenix. They meander about, tending their garden and getting by. Their newfound durability makes doing a lot of work a bit easier with their condition, if only because they worry less about their pain meaning actual damage to their body. It's mostly managed with edibles they make from herbs Chayne got ahold of for them to grow in their garden. Is deeply suspicious of the Order for reasons they cannot put a finger on, due to the amnesia. Is prone to popping up at villagers homes at odd hours because something jogged their memory and they needed to tell someone, anyone about it. Gets extremely stressed out if told someone hasn't eaten in a long while, or that there's food insecurity. Has a protective streak for the kids in town. They have an entire room dedicated to treasure chests full of random trinkets, gemstones, and craft projects. Another room is totally dedicated to being a walk in aquarium, with their best catches cared for as needed. Can and will relay random stories they remember to the townsfolk; this includes epic adventures and once a story about a man-eating plant from outer space. Tends to stare at people's noses for long periods of time while they think, before blinking and going about the conversation. Has passed out in the woods from pushing themselves to get things for people before.

Shepp: They haven't asked one yet, mostly because they're anxious. Something sits in the back of their head that gives them pause about linking reputations with someone else.

Close to: The Daiya family makes them feel a weird homesickness for a place they can't remember, and they spend a lot of time discussing life with them. Feels a kinship with Reth after hearing how people talk about him, and doesn't really understand why until they remember a bit more. They and Tish bond over lingering illnesses, though Tish pointedly doesn't clarify much past that hers started in childhood.

Schedule: Gets up around 10 am, tends to the garden and eats breakfast. Leaves to go fishing and foraging at around 12 pm, and can be found wandering between Kilima and the Lighthouse on the coast until around 8 pm. Then they are either found in the Inn from 9 pm to 12 am, or the underground during the same times. Gets home around 1 am and eats dinner. On bad pain days, they come outside their house long enough to send a letter in to order take out before spending the rest of the day in bed. Spends Sundays and Mondays helping out on the farm--no one involved knows what those days are, but at some point they looked at a calendar and nodded, so no one argues. On these days they leave the house at 5 am and return home around 9 pm.

Close to: No one specifically yet, but Elouisa is probably the closest. Mostly because she'll take and run with any story they tell, coming up with a million theories that they promptly chat about. Jina is a close second, if only because she actually makes them think about details and that gets uncomfortable quickly.

Notes: They are, essentially, on the cryptid end of the 'humans that just showed up' scale. Largely because getting a supply of things that can treat their fibro AND their ADHD is a bitch. Because while the Majiri have stimulants, they need to work really close with Chayne to not overdo it while trying to focus. Which is very difficult with the tools available in Kilima. So instead they end up just spacing out, or jumping topics or being so laser focused on one that others rapidly find them rude for steamrolling the conversation. Tends to get very close to people and loom to illustrate their point/emphasize whatever they're saying. Will only look into people's eyes directly when they're trying to convey that they're not fucking around with what they're saying. Writes down literally everything they remember when something jogs their memory. It tends to look like gibberish to everyone else, because whatever writing system they know is complicated by their poor handwriting and misspellings. A bit too willing to nod along with Reth and Zeki's underground things, so long as no one is physically harmed. Mostly because they're too interested in where it'll end up. Is an unnervingly good shot, provided you do not want the head of something to be in tact. Which is annoying to Hassain, entirely because they have the shakes most other times and can't hit a target if he physically points them at it. They frustrate him a lot expressly because while they listen to him and learn from him, they don't map properly to every other human he has to interact with. Likes to chew on things. A lot. Their wooden spoons often have bite marks on the handles. The only reason anyone gets a gemstone as a present instead of every single one just being in their house is that they have too many. More so because they don't collect them based on value, they work on a purely "i like this one" vibes system. Has purposely touched every single fabric in Jel's shop before ordering anything and then spent fifteen mins trying to articulate their way into getting a tank top and cargo shorts. This was complicated expressly because Jel kept trying to add embellishments to the sketch of the idea and they had to explain that if he put embroidery on their shirt it would touch their stomach and it would kill them, sensory wise. The following order for trying to work out compression garments for their hands/arms and feet/legs felt like they were fucking with him. Randomly vocalizes at other autistic humans as a vocal stim and devolves the whole group into 'awawa's to the bafflement of every majiri and unfamiliar human nearby. Hates dealing with Eshe, but manages a perfect customer service voice when they have to. Kenyatta is told to speak like they do and tries to not laugh. Hates the Palian chocolate because it's texture it off. Reminds them of something called Valentines Day and cheap candy bought after it. Isn't sure what the holiday is for, though, assumes its to do with bees.

Pyramid Head. Outside of Marcus, who's actually going to be able to tell him 'No Kidnapping' and not get chopped in half for it? Besides, even though he doesn't have boyfriend privileges, he is Marcus's patron god. He does what he wants. (Within reason)

Michael. He has ✨Michael Privileges✨ (aka he does whatever he wants... usually within reason)

Jason! They all trust him not to hurt Marcus (more than they trust Michael anway), and he's generally a little more level headed anyway. If he's got a reason to kidnap Doc, it's probably a good one.

Philip, only because Danny, Evan, and Amanda all trust him. He's one of the last people who would ever purposefully hurt Marcus, so again, if he's going to kidnap him, he's probably got a good reason.

Carmina is actually on the list, mostly for the same reasons as Philip. As well, she can traverse the fog far better than anyone. If she's with him, there's little to no chance of him getting lost in the Realm somehow.

Caleb. Honestly he doesn't even know there is a list or that he's on it. If he did, he'd claim he doesn't care, but he very much does care. He's flattered that Marcus trusts him enough to allow him on an 'approved kidnapper' list. He doesn't know Marcus doesn't even know who's on the list, or that he just learned there is a list...

Max, by default. He does a lot of heavy lifting for Caleb, and if Caleb needs to kidnap someone for some reason, there's a good chance he'll send Max to actually do the nabbing. Carrying a body is hard work when you've got a bum leg!

Bubba. He considers Marcus a friend, and they all know that means he'll protect the vet with his life. If he does kidnap him, it's probably cause he wants to spend time. And he'll do his best to keep anyone else from kidnapping him.

Adiris. As long as Anna isn't around, he should be perfectly safe with her.

The Legion. All of them. They wouldn't purposefully hurt Doc, but they're absolutely going to get him involved in some kind of shenanigans and get him in trouble. If they're going to kidnap him, someone with more than two brain cells should probably be with them.

Lisa. It's not because they think she'd hurt Doc, but she definitely wouldn't stop him from climbing into an alligators mouth or picking up venomous snakes, spiders, and other dangerous, life endangering wildlife...

Kazan. Only because it's unclear if anyone could survive trying to stop him. Better to just... tag along? Hope not to get turned into a fine paste?

Sally. She shouldn't have a reason to kidnap him, but she can be a bit odd sometimes. She's never shown any indication of wanting to hurt Doc, but until they'd actually gotten a chance to talk, it would be better if she didn't kidnap him...

Freddy. Although nothing can really stop him from walking into Marcus's dreams whenever he wants to hang out (and force someone to talk to him about Little House on the Prairie) he shouldn't have any reason to be kidnapping the vet...

Nemesis. Although they're all pretty sure he'd never kidnap Marcus under his own volition, he still doesn't get kidnapping privileges.

Dredge. He really just shouldn't be kidnapping people...

Demi. That was terrifying! For everyone involved! Also, it took a week for the grime left behind from his flesh portal to come off the wall of Danny's kitchen! Ew!

Sadako, Rin, and Kayako. They absolutely don't need to even know he exists as far as Danny is concerned. (They know he exists, they just don't have a reason to care) God forbid Marcus does something to piss off a ghost, much less one with a big family of vengeful spirits!

Samara. Hahahahahaha no. People she takes an 'interest' in tend to be found dead a week later. Sometimes sooner if her moms realize she's 'in danger' because of a human.

Charlotte and Victor. It is unclear how they actually feel about the vet and although it seems mostly positive, it's better not to risk it. All it takes is Victor getting underfoot one time and any good favor Marcus had curried with them would gone.

Talbot. It's very likely he still wants to kill or at least maim Marcus. Actually, if he so much as looks at Doc, just call Pyramid Head or Michael.

Anna. She wouldn't actively hurt him, but she wouldn't not lead him deep into the woods and 'lose' him along the way...

Herman still seems to be under the impression that he and Marcus are 'arch-enemies'. He'd be safer getting kidnapped by Wesker.

Kenneth. Things are better than they were, especially since Marcus helped Maurice, but it would probably be better not to push things.

Ji-Woon. Oh, he'd absolutely actively hurt Doc in whatever way he could find.

I saw someone asking why I labeled something as Peko/Buki even tho I'm a Kuzu/Peko shipper. Other then the fact multishippers exist, I didn't consider that as a Kuzu/Peko comic. Ibuki expressed more interest in Peko than Fuyuhiko.

Call me asexual but I don't think just because Fuyuhiko was close to Peko's hip, it should be considered explicit shipping.

So just to be clear on my stance, I am okay with you ppl labeling my art as any ship but there are some boundaries.

Don't label it with problematic ships like incest or age gap.

If the art is clearly about one couple, don't make it about another. But if it's just a group of ppl chilling then you can find whatever couple you like.

I personally hate Mahi/Peko but I know I'm gonna draw things exploring Mahiru's crush on Peko so that's on me if ppl interpret it that way. Just don't be weird, because I have no quams with never drawing Peko and Mahiru within 5 feet of each other. I've drawn Case 2 ten times and I've only drawn Mahiru once.

I made a list of Peko's relationship with others if you wanna know my stance on her ships.

Hajime -I will never let people forget Hajime has a canon crush on Peko. Besides that, Hajime is Peko's first true friend. Outside of Fuyuhiko, Hajime is the only person Peko feels comfortable confiding in her secrets. He doesn't judge and is very kind. Meanwhile Hajime goes to Peko when he needs a cool headed and rational opinion.

Chiaki - Queerplatonic, they snuggle a lot. Chiaki is chill and her games makes it easier for Peko who has no experience talking to people have things to relate to. Peko understands when Chiaki is emotionless for the most part and then burst into excitement when it's something she's passionate about. They developed their own little language in those situations.

Nagito - Nagito likes to take advantage of Peko’s kindness and clings to her. Peko doesn’t mind hanging out with Nagito but stares dagger into him when he’s being too forward with others (he doesn’t read social cues so he’s not gonna catch it). Nagito thinks of himself as a diet Fuyuhiko. As long as Peko provides support, he'll look out for her.

Teruteru - He's super turned on by Peko but gets flustered when she genuinely cares about him (turns out he does not have a mommy kink). Peko enjoys Teruteru teaching her about cooking so the two eventually bond over that.

Imposter - Peko’s best friend on the island. They both relate to not knowing who they’re supposed to be. At the same time, they don’t see each other as just victims. They’re both people trying to grow and become better. When these two are together some say they're TOO COOL (actually Ibuki is the only one that said this)

Mahiru - Mahiru has a giant crush on Peko. At first she believe she knows what’s best for her and tries to takes her away from Fuyuhiko. Once she accepts Peko doesn’t want her help, she tries to be happy for Peko and Fuyuhiko.

Hiyoko: Is jealous of Peko so she lashes out at her a lot. Originally it was for looking mature/sexy and gardening Mahiru’s attraction. But after she learned of Peko’s past, she’s jealous that she didn’t have her own bodyguard to protect her from the multiple assassination attacks she went through.

Ibuki: Queerplatonic, they kiss A LOT. Ibuki loves seeing Peko awkwardly cheer for her at concerts (imagine Pearl from Steven Universe type of awkward) Peko made Ibuki realize that quiet is okay. Because only when it’s quiet, she can hear Peko’s heart beat speed up. I think they would be a cute fling but these two come from two different worlds. Ibuki is a party rocking planet and Peko is a silent moon. Maybe if the stars aligned they could've made it work. But that doesn't mean you can't appreciate eclipses.

Mikan: Mikan’s ability to read micro facial expressions helps her interpret a lot of Peko’s hidden emotions. Peko likes Mikan but Mikan mistaken Peko’s quietness with secret resentment (she can read that Peko isn’t mad but sometimes mental illness makes you ignore facts). Mikan is had to get close to and Peko doesn't have the social understanding to truly know her.

Gundham: He has adopted her as his own. He feels the need to protect this person on par with his traumatic backstory. She must realize this too, that’s why she keeps flocking to him and his four dark devas. Meanwhile Peko only understands 50% of what he’s saying but she’s trying. Sonia (and Gonta in non despair AU) has to interpret sometimes. Giant Big Brother and Little Sister energy.

Sonia: Sonia is the extrovert who adopts an introvert. Sonia wants to hang out with all her classmates and one of the few who doesn't see Peko cool demeanor as disinterest. Sonia is the only one who can relate to Peko's isolation and only she knows the kind of loneliness that can come with being around others. Peko doesn't realize this on her part and it hurts Sonia. But Sonia doesn't stop trying.

Kazuichi: Scared and aroused by Peko. I head anon one time his trash picking robot accidentally took Peko’s sword and it exploded. Kazuichi was so scared to admit it to Peko but once he did - Peko was more concerned about him than her sword. He’s convinced she’s in love with him and begs Fuyuhiko to ask her out for him. Peko bluntly declines.

Nekomaru - Nekomaru passionately talks with Peko about a lot of things. At first it was Kendo, then it was training, proper diet, and it spiraled into Nekomaru talking excitably about his day. Peko is a good listener but even she can go deaf from all the yelling. Ibuki bails her out sometimes. I think Nekomaru and Sonia are the only people who know how to push Peko out of her comfort zone without overstepping. Ibuki can be too excited in getting Peko to do new things. Hajime and Chiaki doesn't see a problem with Peko doing her own thing.

Akane - The girls bond over being asexual together. No talk about love or mushy stuff. They talk with battle! At least according to Akane. Peko is hesitant to train with Akane because she believes only someone strong like Sakura could handle her blade. Akane takes that as an open challenge and tries to blindside Peko until she takes her seriously. Akane does have to learn boundaries at one point. Maybe the person who grew up in constant danger doesn't want to keep looking over her shoulders in case her classmates attack her.

Fuyuhiko - Ultimately, though everything, this blog will always be a Kuzu/Peko blog. Growing up, Fuyuhiko developed a crush on Peko but never acted on it. Only after a chance conversation with Sakura about what being in love is like, Peko realized in middle school she is in love with Fuyuhiko. By that point their relationship is strained. Fuyuhiko is constantly telling Peko he doesn't need a tool and pretend they don't know each other. Peko doesn't want to be forgotten by Fuyuhiko, this person she spent everyday with. She planned on asking him out, as equals, but then Twilight Syndrome Murder happened. There was no time for love when there was so much hate in his heart. Eventually after everything, the two realizes they need each other. Fuyuhiko only pushed Peko away because he thought she couldn't grow as a person if she was constantly worried about him. Peko realizes she can still care and protect Fuyuhiko as a fellow warrior by his side. These two understand each other so well that they don't need to talk. But this also leads to terrible miscommunications.

This'll be long so I will put all my rambling under a cut haha

I know that Abiteth/Dabi have the easiest time with Tsuki, and Oniya, their most easy-going kids. Isei, they would have a tendency to favor without really realizing it, due to her situation (and being adopted; Abiteth/Dabi never wanted Isei to feel like an outsider of the family). Thankfully their favoring of her lessens when she's a teenager and brings it up to them herself!

Dabi has a very difficult time with Nikkou because of how similar they are quirk wise - like Nikkou has the wrong body/wrong quirk issue that Dabi has, and for a period of time Dabi does treat Nikkou like Enji treated him (but more aggressive/hostile in the way of "I said you can't be a hero" "why?" "BECAUSE I SAID SO AND I'M YOUR DAD SO YOU LISTEN TO ME BECAUSE I KNOW WHAT'S BEST FOR YOU", that kind of aggressive/hostile). He and Nikkou are able to smooth things out once Dabi learns that Nikkou starts hiding the frostbite and other injuries caused to Nikkou by Nikkou's quirk, and Dabi has that epiphany moment of "oh god I'm sending him down the path my dad sent ME down". So they are able to rectify it (with Abiteth's help).

Abiteth has a very difficult time with Kanara because they're both very headstrong and therefore butt heads a lot more often. Kanara also doesn't respect Abiteth the way she respects Dabi (total daddy's girl - Oniya, by comparison is a mama's boy haha). Kanara gets chided by Abiteth a lot because she is frequently getting into fights at school (this being Shiketsu, none of the DAbiTou kids go to UA), she's always coming home with bruises and scuffs, and Kanara thinks Abiteth should praise her (like Dabi does) because she won though!! "You should see the other kid" behavior! She and Kanara don't get things sorted out until two things happen: 1) being that Kanara tells Abiteth to shut up when Dabi is home and he hears her and he comes down the stairs like a raging bull and this is the first time Kanara actually gets to see the villain her father was and always will be looking at her, and 2) when she gets into a trouble a little too deep but Abiteth swoops in and gets her out of it and instead of berating Kanara she comforts her and tells her she's just grateful Kanara is safe.

I do think that the troubles Abiteth/Dabi would have with Tsuki and Oniya is them feeling kind of invisible? Since Nikkou sneaks around and keeps hiding his injuries from Dabi, he gets a lot of Dabi's attention (even if it's negative), and Kanara of course gets a lot of Abiteth's attention (again, even though it's negative) because Nikkou and Kanara are the "bad kids", so the "good kids" Tsuki and Oniya go a little unseen as pre-teens/teenagers.

And then there's who the kids are mentored by!! These are still works in progress, but here's my little list:

Kanara is Kirishima's sidekick!

Nikkou is mentored by his uncle Shoto, of course!

Tsuki gets mentored by Deku and is the only sidekick who can handle Bakugo's temper! (HE'S VERY PROUD OF HER!!! HE'S VERY "THAT'S MY FUCKING GIRL LET'S GOOOO" ABOUT TSUKI!!)

Oniya is Tokoyami's sidekick!

Isei isn't mentored by anyone but Hawks provides her with tapes of her mother using her quirk so that Isei can learn how to use hers 💙

ALL CHILDREN receive self-defense and hand-to-hand combat training from Abiteth's entire family (which is very hard for Isei because she is fearful and extremely non-combative but Abiteth helps her through it by expressing that she wants to ensure Isei can protect herself!!!)

I think that's everything my little brain was thinking about hahahaha. Oh and for the curious, the heroes in the family are: Tsuki, Kanara, and Oniya (don't have a hero name for Tsuki yet but I'm leaning toward Amaterasu - Kanara's is Rengoku, and Oniya's is Behemoth).

Nikkou's was Solstice, but he goes by Equinox in story~

Atm I don't really know how things between the kids and parents would change if it was Touya (like, Enji was a good father and was good to his family Touya), or if this was a Twin AU, just in that case I know Tsuki of course gravitates toward Touya, and Nikkou gravitates toward Dabi.

they're fucking INSANE and codependent and becoming eachother in a way that's hard to describe if you haven't watched the show. say what you will about the hybrid arc in S9 but I like it. throughout the whole season there keeps being mention of this "hybrid" being like the most dangerous and powerful thing etc but as the series goes on and clara and the doctor become more and more alike and more and more codependent you start to realise they are the hybrid and at the end of the universe me says about how they're so similar that they drive eachother to extremes both good and bad. My fav part of their relationship is probably how it is in motoe where clara is trying to tell herself this is the end because she HATES him but can't bring herself to "leave on a slammed door" and she starts to understand him in this episode and omg the twelveclaras are just too good in motoe

clara oswald is the only character in the world and twelve is the best doctor and I love them both and they will always be my fav. claras relationship with the doctor paralleled to her relationship with danny is soooooo interesting but I've talked about that before. for twelve I think clara is his first love since rose and obv there's been over a thousand years in his life since then obv there's river and maybe some minor characters but river is different they're married. clara parallels rose really nicely too which is something I'll go about another time but the thing most different between them is the doctor sent rose away to protect her but there's nothing that could separate him from clara until he is literally forced to forget her existence

OK PERHAPS JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE ...

(revision after i wrote everything. it was not a little bit)

i imagine it all starts off where till is off doing his normal cryptid hunting things in the woods on like a friday evening and happens to catch a glimpse of sua and ivan outside of a spaceship in the middle of the woods. he watches one of them transform into their human form from a far distance, and manages to snap a singular blurry photo. the flash goes off and gives away his location, though, so he instinctually runs off before he can see more

(btw, the disguises don't change their clothes, only their body. the human clothes are real. although they were probably synthesized through weird alien technology or they stole them not 100% sure yet)

cut to monday, he's in class, and one of his teachers introduces two new students who have just transferred to their school from some unspecified other country. till is immediately like THATS THE ALIEN I SAW BEFORE and the two of them also talk strangely and have some weird device attached to their ears. he calls them out for being aliens, in front of the entire class, very embarrassingly, though of course this gets him nowhere.

i dont have like this ENTIRELY planned out at the moment but pretty quickly the main 4 settle into a sort-of friend group. mizi is incredibly friendly and befriends the two new students immediately, and till reluctantly spends as much time as possible with the two of them out of wanting to protect her and keep an eye on them for possible funny business. mizi doesnt NOT believe till that ivan and sua are aliens, but she befriends them anyway. till and ivan immediately settle into the type of relationship the two of them had in anakt canonically---they're constantly bickering and probably getting into fights in the hallway.

as much as mizi and till are best friends, mizi is quite the busy gal. she's always involved with school events and is in multiple clubs so she's only free during lunch about twice a week, of which she always spends with till. the rest of the week, till spent that time alone until the aliens showed up. he doesn't think about it for a while but eventually realizes that maybe theyre not so bad to have around. till's mom tells him after a few months of having them around that he seems happier. he's not sure what to think about that

this au is just lighthearted silliness mostly, ivan coming up with (real? fake?) world-conquering schemes to rile up till and get his attention and mizisua slowly developing a very cute romance. some aliens come to earth and accidentally learn how to love.

i think what i settled on for ivan and sua is that they were in fact sent to earth to do some kind of scouting of the planet to see if its worth anything for their crazy conquering alien empire, but they pretty quickly discover that they actually kind of like it there despite all its flaws. they are eventually discovered (by a familiar face maybe?) as being "traitors to the empire" or whatever but itll all end up fine in the end i promise i have no angst bones in my body

if this was like a serialized TV show i would imagine after enough time has passed and its clear the aliens aren't really a threat to mizi or humanity or anything like that till just kind of accepts the fact that theyre here and part of his life and he allows himself to be fascinated by their existence and their technology. ivan shows him his disguise willingly and till probably stares into his eyes which look like tiny galaxies and its pretty gay. if i was a more prolific fic writer the ivantill romance would be such a slowburn

so like assuming this is a tv show like the first season (or maybe even two? idk) of the show would be almost entirely set on earth and then once some big season finale event thing happens they start having adventures in space afterwards. i want mizi and till to get alien disguises at some point i love drawing aliens if that wasnt obvious
