Eywa brought me to You
“I see you”
Pairing: Neteyam x f!reader
Notes: This is my first Avatar fic, sooooo it's probably not the best but it was an idea I've had, the peeps will probably be ooc, so I apologize. The war hasn't happened in this fic.
Warnings: fluff, bulling, Ao'nung is kind of a dick, but we love him, Neteyam and Ao’nung are a little ooc
The Desert Na’vi, or the Neni people. The most feared clan on Pandora, the humans are unaware that they exist, for the most part. Only few have entered the terrain, and none have come out alive. The desert Na’vi are fierce and are unafraid of anything or anyone. They live far up in the mountains, in a hole filled with dryness and barren ground. The wind blows constantly, sand and dirt always being inhaled, eye stinging with the sand, skin burning from the heat. It’s the way of life, but even the natives of the land need a break.
•••••
It was silent in the desert, the wind creating a gentle breeze, stirring up every grain of sand. In the middle of the unforgiving desert was The Dome, Where the desert clan lived. Behind the great walls, was the village. It was full of hustle and bustle; vacation is among the people.
“My people!” The thick accented voice of the chief echos among the village; all eyes are on the chief. “Our great departure will begin!” Cheers erupt from the people, whoops, hollers and war calls echo in the Dome.
“We ride!” The chief declares, pulling his hood over his head.
“We are so late, they are gonna leave without us!” Wails the youngest son of the Neni tribe, Seze. Tsamsiyu rolls his eyes annoyingly at his baby brother, such a baby sometimes.
“Just hold on, Seze...”
•••••
You sit on top of your spirit sister, Loran, a mighty serpent of the desert. Her beautiful purple scales shine in the sunlight, her tail rattles at the sight of her riders siblings; racing across the desert to get home for departure.
You giggle, hopping off and open the secret entrance into the dome, Tsamsiyu and Seze race through. You lead Loran into the Dome and close the door. Your brother rolls his eyes and sets Seze on the ground.
“Can you see the inside of your head when doing that, brother?” You smirk, your brother growls and pushes you with his shoulder as he walks by. “Heh, you’re lucky it was me who seen you and not-”
“And not us?” Your elder sister emerges from the shadows, war paint covering her tan skin, green eyes narrow, tail swishing aggressively with worry.
“You are stupid, brother” Syawn flicks her brothers forehead, he gives a small hiss and moves his head away. “Very stupid for bringing Seze along too”
“Shut up, Shxawng” Tsamsiyu glares at his twin sister. “You’re not the eldest, I am. So, stop acting like it”
Syawn hisses, baring her fangs with ferocity. Tsamsiyu brushes her off and finishes putting the rest of his valuables on his sattle and leads his spirit brother out with the rest of the people.
Syawn motions for you to finishes helping Seze and follow her out of the stable area. You set your younger brother in your sattle and lead his serpent out while Loran follows you. Seze just learned to ride his spirit brother and prefers to ride Loran until the departure.
Your father nods and watches the sky for your eldest sibling, Atan. He watches over the people from the sky, destin to be the be the next Olo'eyktan. He is promised to a beautiful woman from the Metkayina clan, they have yet to be mated under Eywa and mated for life.
Atans Ikran screeches, before landing infront of your father. Atan jumps off his Ikran, making sure to take his queue from his spirit brothers. He greets your father, his hands making a cone shape with his fingers dragging it from his forehead out and down; your father does the same in return with a big smile.
"My son, Toruk makto!" Your father brings Atan into his side by the shoulders, Atan much taller than your father. "Has returned! We ride! To the sea!"
The people cheer and connect their queues to their snakes, and with a war call they take off fastly through the Dome gate and out into the desert. Your brother and his group take flight on their Ikrans, watching for any enemies.
You help Seze on to his snake and carefully help connect their queues, his eyes widen; still not used to have such a deep connection with his animal yet. You motion for him to follow as the last of the clan close the gate and locks it; the gate will not open for another few months when you and the clan return home.
•••••
After the long journey to get out of the desert, through the forests and down to the shoreline. The clan waited for their snakes to shed their rough terrain scales and become a sea serpent.
Instead of being her normal dark purple, Loran was the color of the sand, a cream white. Out of the clan, Loran is the fastest, most agile snake in water; very hard to ride if inexperienced.
The next day and a half was spent traveling through the water, not once to stop and rest. The snakes will be extremely tired upon arrival at your Uncle and Aunts islands.
Tonowari and Ronal are not your biological family, but your father and them grew up together.
•••••
As you and your family come into the reef, fisherman and scouts blow through their shells, alarming the clan and the Sully's of the Nenis arrival.
Loran swims behind your sister’s snake and follows then onto the surface. Loran bends her neck, allowing you to slide off her scaled body and disconnect your queue. One your off, Loran shakes off the remaining water, her rattle shaking as she does so.
The Metkayina people smile and welcome you with open arms, Tonowari smiles and greets you and your family with the traditional 'I see you', before giving you and your sisters small hugs.
Tonowari and your father begin talking and walk away towards the village. You sigh and walk over to your snake; she bows her head when you begin to rub on her.
Usually, Tsireya is here with her father to greet you and talk about all the things you've missed in the past year; yet she nor Ao'nung are here. You and Ao'nung have a complicated relationship. You are a very nice person to everyone unless they mess with your family, and Ao'nung is the opposite. It's very hard to get along with someone who is the opposite of who you are, but you make it work for Tsireya.
"Y/n!" You turn your head to the shoreline. The person you were looking for dove off of her Ilu and into the water before running on land. She collided with you, her fin like arms surrounding your slim body. You giggle and hug your best friend back just as tight, her wet body rubbing onto your cloak; drying her but getting you wet, again.
"Tsireya! I've missed you"
You smile sweetly. She agrees with you and tells you she needs you to meet the new members of their clan. You look at her confused but follow along. She leads you through the village, stopping to say hello to any friends you have missed. You come to the edge of the village and stop in front of a mauri. Inside where dark blue Na'vi; Forest Na'vi.
There are four of them, two boys, two girls. Two of them had 5 fingers, two had the traditional na’vi four. Tsireya smiles at one of the boys with a small blush, the boy does the same in return.
You watched the tallest boy stand from his spot on the floor, his gold eyes staring into yours. He stood tall, blue skin damp from being in the water.
This must be Jake Sully’s family. The great Toruk Makto, who lead the 15 clans to victory against the sky people.
“Everyone, this is Y/n” You give a small, gentle smile and use your hand to greet them. The smallest one waves and skips over to you.
“I’m Tuk!” She looks up at you, taking in the detail of your face and ears. You almost look like Kiri, the way your nose points instead of being flat. You have a lot more human features. she gasps when she sees your hand. You have five fingers, just like Kiri and Lo’ak.
She grabs your hand and lifts it up high for everyone to see. They all look surprised, except for Tsireya. They look even more shocked to see you are not blue, but a tan color; looking even more human along with your odd hair color.
“You are human?” The eldest girl asked taking you hand and looking over you. “Half human” You correct her. She looks over you amazed.
“I’m Kiri, those Shxawngs are Lo’ak and Neteyam” She points to each brother. You smile kindly and Kiri leads you to sit down next to her and her brothers to. They begin to ask questions on how you look so human when being so Na’vi at the same time.
*****
Over the next few weeks, you and the Sully kids became best friends, especially you and Neteyam. He bonded with you because of your kind nature and selflessness, he respects you on a high level as you do him. He would be lying if he said he didn’t find you beautiful. Oh Eywa, your eyes are his favorite, especially at night when they glow, a traight your people have to be able to see through the sandstorms or when traveling at night or just in dark places.
Last week, Neteyam got the courage to ask to court you, and when you said yes, his dreams came true. He has yet to ask your father for his blessing, but nobody knows, not even Tsireya.
You and Neteyam walk along the beach, Kiri and Tuk lay in the water with their Ilu’s, Lo’ak is with Tsireya at the docks weaving new baskets for the fisherman.
“Your brother, Atan, is also Toruk Makto?” Neteyam asks watching the largest Ikran in the sky above. You hum in response.
Your tail swished behind you; the sound of his voice twists your stomach with butterflies. Neteyam’s ears twitch at the sound, he focuses on your tail, his gently brushing against your leg. The tips of your ears became red, he is such a tease.
Ao’nung and his little group of friends walk in front of you and your mate, a devilish smirk on his face.
“Is this all you do now, hangout with these freaks?” His friend laughs behind him. You pin your ears glaring at the bag of dicks in front of you. “Why does it matter to you, Ao’nung?” You hiss.
“Because you are gonna be promised to me, and not some forest freak” Neteyam growls, watching Ao’nung brush a piece of you fallen hair out of your face.
He grabs Ao’nung’s wrist harshly with a calm face. “Please, do not touch her”. Ao’nung swipes his hand back, looking between you and Neteyam. “She is mine, I can touch her when I can” Ao'nung bites back.
“No, she is mine” Neteyam growls. He grabs you by your jaw, bringing your lips up to his. By now the rest of your friends are watching and they gasp. Ao’nung’s eyes went wide.
“Haha! She’s taken fish lips!” Lo’ak laughs. Tsireya smiles at you and Neteyam. You two are meant for each other, she can feel it and so can you.
Later that evening, Neteyam asks your father for his blessing, and with the help of you sister and mother, he granted him with his blessing. After that, you went to Jake and Neytiri, Neytiri was spectacle at first, but she also gave her blessing.
Small waves crashed gently against the dock, you and your mates’ feet dangled in the water. His hand held yours gently, his thumb grazing over your knuckles lovingly.
You turn and face him, he looks at you from the corner of his eye. his stare intense. You giggle and bring his face to look at you. You caress his cheek while looking into his eyes.
“I see you, Neteyam” You whisper. Neteyam’s heart flutters as he presses his forehead against yours.
“I see you, my love”
Probably spelt names wrong, not very proofread sorry y’all.
