āI can't believe my alternate Devil's Minion posting brought you into my inbox and not my 'Marius/Armand/Lestat + Lestat & Armand being brothers' smut postingā thatās because I MISSED IT. For some reason Tumblr has been doing me dirty lately and usually shows me either old posts or posts that Iāve already seen at the top of my feed and thereās so much incredible stuff I miss unless I take the time to check pplās blogs individually (which in your case Iāll gladly do ofc š„°). ANYHOW. Iām caught up now, back to business. In my head Lestat and Armand are always competing for Mariusā attention/approval (the Succession anon was REALLY onto something here omg), and things tend to get frisky when Marius ultimately ends up favoring Lestat/lets him get away with shit heād never let Armand get away with. A major Lestat fuck up that ends with Marius laughing it off and calling him a brat prince/damned creature is equivalent to 2 daily whipping sessions for 5 consecutive days for Armand. So the thought of Marius bending them both to his will while outrageously favoring Lestat and saving the worst for Armand while Lestat initially has the time of his life but then his competitive streak starts to kick in once he notices how much Armandās genuine desperation to please Marius actually GETS to Marius and starts rewarding himā¦ it does things to me, I wonāt lie š„¹ āBut it leads me back to my thought of Armand baby-trapping Lestat with one of his own nieces or nephews during the French Revolution.ā WITH ONE OF HIS OWN WHAT??WHEN??? Imagine Armand holding two mini Lestat clones on both arms while all three of them look at him like š„ŗš„ŗš„ŗ āprovide? ššā and Lestat now has a whole ass family to take care of. I NEED IT. Missed you too! xoxo DA
DA here again, brain wonāt stop conjuring up imagesš«£ what if Marius started getting a little too rough with Armand (even for his standards, which as we know are pretty damn rough already) which made Lestat feel extremely protective of him but unsure about what to do next WHICH would of course be noticed by Marius so heād end up getting some of Armandās blows as punishment but heād take them like a champ for his ahem, brother. And then Armand would lick his wounds clean while they both hold each other and cry š«
Work melted my brain and I forgot to check my ask box for a few days, but oh what a lovely Friday treat! š¤§ā„ļø
Where do I even begin? š„¹
Tbh the most scandalous aspect of all of this is the visual of Armand looking all barefoot and pregnant, holding two blond babies while making his canonical Puss in Boots eyes at Lestat (like he isn't an entire deranged Satanic cult leader).
And you know what? You and I and everyone else knows it would work as long as Gabrielle wasn't around to shut that shit down. Shame, because Lestat deserved to be trapped with two kids and a husband that's incurably psychosexually obsessed with him by the ripe old age of twenty-two (this is my hill to die on today). Armand rocking those babies and going, "Would you really refuse me now after I have saved your own flesh and blood from the guillotines? š„ŗ"
Instead of being disgusted like Louis was, Lestat would be simultaneously terrified and enamored (it's his Armand default, he can't help it). The debate of whether Armand truly does have more morals than Lestat when it comes to turning children can be sorted out once and for all.
NOW LET'S TALK MARIUS.
Not to get too meta when we're talking smut lmao but I feel that in general, Marius is one of those people that the more he loves you, the more you suffer (Lestat is too, and also Armand pre-his 'healed at Trinity Gate' era).
So on the surface, it appears that Lestat is the favorite but in the end Armand gets more of Marius's attention and frustrations. Lestat's way too competitive to take that lying down (so to speak), and maybe it reminds him too much of his childhood and it's upsetting!
But you're right, Lestat is actually extremely gentle and tender when it comes to Armand! At least compared to how he treats Louis, David, etc. Remembering how he lets Armand cling to him in BC while he cries and then Lestat kisses him. š„¹ And Armand is also protective/possessive of him! Nobody gets to hurt Lestat (except Armand).
The only thing better than Lestat crying is both of them crying together and licking up each other's tears. š„µ But it's a good crying, like 70% of their present-day issues stem from Marius directly or indirectly, so it's sort of poetic that him hurting both of them would give them something to bond over.
Maybe Daddy does know best sometimes. šš¼
#thank you for these little love (kinky) letters DA sorry it took me a minute have a good friday <333#dungeon anon#you ask and hekate answers#armand/lestat#lestat/armand/marius

Anonymous asked:Ā If it's not to much trouble could we get some general relationship headcanons for winter, Glynda and raven please ?
{notes: fun fact - glynda was actually the first character to capture my heart, winter is so calming to write for me, and raven? she is a complicated woman volume five tailored to splendidly. now, I admittedly am inexperienced with these ladies, so hopefully I portrayed them properly. but regardless, thank you very much for requesting, and I hope you enjoy ā¤}
ļ¼ ļ¼·ļ¼©ļ¼®ļ¼“ļ¼„ļ¼² ļ¼³ļ¼£ļ¼Øļ¼®ļ¼„ļ¼„ ā
ā In the course of a procedure, Winter would be inclined to scold any of your misbehavior or foolhardiness. It's to project a smoother route for what has been relegated down to her. Never sheepish towards how imprudent you can behave every once in a while, but she wouldn't be reluctant to be verbal concerning such minor offenses. Don't fall out of line. The Atlesian calvarium thoroughly understands she can confide with you, your immeasurable faithfulness an object of unconditional affection. Even with your persistent silliness. And whoever said the eldest Schnee couldn't take part in your fun herself?
ā Abrasive geeks clacking against the asphalt, you and your lover would saunter throughout Atlas. No paladins crawling behind you, none trailing behind in a clunky, robotic march. General Ironwood wouldn't infringe on her spare time, not prodding with responsibilities relevant to the armer forces. You aren't to be tasked with being fearful of what lay beyond the outer reaches of the unknown tomorrow. Acclaim cultivates your connection, admiring what has been achieved in one another's years. Brief chatter sneaking in, marveling at the sights and such. It's an excellent time for her to forgive and forget and be around you in public.
ā Critique, constructive and degrading, has not stopped popping up in the esteemed fighter's life. She has conquered what comments were made, but sometimes those who are the most powerful require protection, too. It's a lovely surprise when you insist she trains you. You want to protect her, as it seemed nobody else was willing to be her valiant guardian. Ā The justification for your actions triggers emotion evaporated in the presence of others. You're doing it for her. Flattered, Winter rewards you for your hot pursuit however you wish.
ā Following a string of military tasks, Winter would be heaving with exhaustion once arriving home. It's suggested you prepare a little something nice for her, allow the blizzard to come to a still. Interruptions or anything that wind her up aren't anywhere. She would embroider your bodies as if they were a singular mold, propping you into her abdomen. Pursing her lips, the oldest of three would feel honestly weightless as worries die down. She can breathe; it makes you feel calmer, knowing the harshness of a potential war between kingdoms hasn't stripped you of your lover.
ā Public displays of affection? Dismayingly, there would be roadblocks. It wouldn't tarnish the upper class woman where she stands nor the reputation she must uphold. But keep in mind Winter is a maiden who would preferably bury those desires, conserving them. In private, she doesn't squander the chance to express herself. You would be appeased, dwindling in the liberality. Behind closed doors, she would be tangy as marmalade, passionate as you are littered head to toe with kisses and embraces galore. Not too excessive, not too little. Just the right amount. If you were to ever have an exchange of PDA, it would be the oh so subtle pressing of your palms. It reminds her you're loyal, at her side whenever she needs you to be there.
- BONUS:Ā
ā You are worthy of respect, in Weiss' book. How you have untangled the stubborn knot tied around her sister's heart would be stunning. Not many have seen that side of Winter. Winter holds a special place in Weiss' heart, being the only considered family - along with Klein - from the Schnee lineage she had. If you mean a lot to Winter, you mean just as much to her little sister.
ļ¼ ļ¼§ļ¼¬ļ¼¹ļ¼®ļ¼¤ļ¼” ļ¼§ļ¼Æļ¼Æļ¼¤ļ¼·ļ¼©ļ¼“ļ¼£ļ¼Ø ā
ā As the headmaster's assistant, Glynda would be strapped with numerous hassles. Dealing with the rambunctious huntsman and huntresses in the making, keeping order in good repair, mudslides of paperwork. Don't forget how she serves as a millennial protector of Remnant! The pay off though is admittedly gratifying. But the backbreaking work on a daily basis would leave wares and tears on her. As the stress accumulates, take action. Distract your sorceress from the heavy burdens she carries however you presume would be helpful. Massage the tension to oblivion. Whip up your finest cuisine (she'll be appreciative, even if your cooking skills aren't anything to write home about, or completely atrocious). Help out with the mountains of grading. Just let her have the space to breathe.
ā Slow dancing would be marvelous. Record spinning, the euphony is liquefied gold poured all over you as you are transported magically to a ballroom ripped straight from Disney's "Beauty and the Beast." Hands firmly clasped on her, shoulders bumping, thighs trembling with an easy going sway as you rock rhythmically. It draws a high resemblance to the obsessive fantasies of a young girl. Miss Goodwitch would be your fair maiden, you mastering the role of her dashing partner.Ā
ā Juveniles are naturally bringers of stress as they sort out their own ups and downs of the world. With those rampant hijinks, the captivating magic wielder could be reduced to a nagging although motherly contrast of her namesake. She'll preserve a second or two for your sake, comparable to buried treasures you carry in secrecy. But such duties must be attended to and interaction may be brief. Forgive Glynda, for under those set of circumstances, there won't be an abundance of PDA.
ā Disciplinary doesn't automatically translate to insensitivity. Home is where tenderness runs wild! Aversions nowhere to be seen and no troubles to speak of. Above all, you would shimmy on up to the highest peak where you are the highest priority of the one and only Glynda Goodwitch. She wouldn't hesitate to extrapolate your importance. Wholesome phrases, happy dazes, comforting squeezes and truthful answers to your "Do you love me?"'s. The headmaster's right hand woman couldn't imagine a better way to spend those select moments alone.
ā Restraint raises constraint on school conversation, but that doesn't mean any second would be wasted. Every fortnight, you would inscribe scriptures edifying all fractions of your ardor. Slipping them into your sweetheart's desk whenever she isn't around, you would be brightly illuminated all throughout the day wondering how she'll react. It would generate an admiring smile and gentle shake of her head. Glynda would always take your messages to heart.
ā The fall of Beacon was heartbreaking, especially for the professor. She doesn't express it often, but she holds every student near and dear, latching onto them and astounded at their achievements. Yet she couldn't protect all of them. As your lover mourns the fallen, raise her spirits, and grieve alongside her. Don't leave her alone - she needs you.
- BONUS:
ā Ozpin would rejoice at how you can assuage his assistant. He takes notice of her stress and your company has appeared to be a useful remedy. Occasionally, the wizard let's your romantic escapades slide, freeing you two lovebirds so you can flutter your wings. Particularly as his conscious has been converted into a disembodied voice infused with a young farmer boy, Oz knows he can trust you to comfort Glynda as you rebuild Beacon.
ļ¼ ļ¼²ļ¼”ļ¼¶ļ¼„ļ¼® ļ¼¢ļ¼²ļ¼”ļ¼®ļ¼·ļ¼„ļ¼® ā
Ā ā "I love you"'s would be rarities, the intervals of it transpiring difficult to foretell. The language of exchanging amorous drivel doesn't suit Raven's fancy often. She's an arbitrary, cutthroat tribe leader expressing herself through the tongue of the pitiless to those threatening members. Don't measure her infrequent expressions as measly grains of salt. The scarcity shouldn't delude; every time she utters these three words, there is magnitudes of sincerity laced on them. No ruthless spatting injecting venom - honest and profound, rather.
ā The Branwen would be very territorial. She'll stamp you with her marking, . You would be front and center on the throne. Possessive at times, yes, but Raven wouldn't treat you as a prisoner. You're the Omega connected to her, the Alpha of the pack, by the red string of fate. You are confined, bound to one another. Two birds on a wire, as they say. You wouldn't be bidding her farewell soon.
ā Qrow's sister prioritizes stable authority. One mishap could deconstruct the gang of thieves and troubled souls who lick her boots. Thus, the rabenmutter would rebuke all public displays of affection as to maintain balance. She doesn't want to be mocked by her alleged family. Ridicule would in rather displeasing consequences.
ā Not to say you are an embarrassment, but Raven goes in line with the other ladies mentioned before. The clashes would be heavily secluded, as to avoid generating unwanted disturbances. Fervent as the daughter she conceived, the collisions strike, a match inspiring so much touch of vigor. Rough, straight to the point, never beating around the bush; no betrayal, no lies, no denial or force. Only what you would please.
ā Taiyang's departed lover would be very defensive over you. Flying in with a flash as her avian equivalent when you are in danger as she has done for Ruby and Yang, Ā eradicating the threat on sight. You'd given her another thing to protect, even as molten lava has sweltered. Your strength would be heightened as Raven aims to ensure you are battle ready. If you wanted to thrive, you must be strong enough to survive.
- BONUS:Ā
ā Based on how his sister has strayed, Qrow would be staggering from learning of your relationship. She was a strange one, only tamed once before by Taiyang. Though justified distance has strained their kinship, the bad luck charm would be thankful someone's keeping tabs on her.

How to Handle a Nico: Idle Idol
Primary Pairing: NicoMaki Mentioned Pairings: RinPana, NozoEli Words: ~1.5k Rating: K Time Frame: Some time while Maki is still in college but after Nico has graduated. Story Arc: Stand Alone
List of all HtHaN scenes
Authorās Note: Just a bit of Latin used in this scene. I am not enclosing it in brackets as I would in other scenes, as I believe āpro bonoā is common enough in English usage - though that could just be a personal bias caused by having lawyers in the family. Also, the other words are close enough to their English equivalents that I figure most readers should be able to get the gist of it.
Nico sighed as she stared at yet another listing for renting office space. Bored. Who knew setting up a business would be so boring? Apply for a license, then wait for its approval. Fill out a form online, then wait for the email reply. Wait for this. Wait for that. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait.
At least things seemed to be running smoothly. Or at least as smooth as Nico would assume, as she had little personal experience to which she could compare. But Nozomi and Eli reminded her regularly that she was having a much easier time than they had with their restaurant. Though they never mentioned it directly, they occasionally implied that finances were playing a fairly significant part. Paying up front greased a lot of gears.
And as for the finance depart, Maki had been nothing short of a godsend. Tsubasa had invested an impressive amount, but even that was dwarfed by the trust fund. The doctors Nishikino had, with no shortage of convincing, granted their daughter full control of one of her funds and Maki had immediately set about jumping through the necessary hoops to grant access to the fledgling Egao JÅshÅ.
Nico smiled as she thought about the companyās name. While everyone involved had their ideas, ultimately it had been Tsubasaās suggestion that won out. It was a name that gave a direct nod to the founding idols; Nico and the members of A-RISE.
But now they were waiting on something else. Yet another approval or whatever. So Nico was biding her time continuing her search for the perfect location for her new company to call home. But honestly, it was boring.
Obviously, Nico missed the stage and lights and the cheering crowds that accompanied being an idol, both in school and going professional, but she also found she was missing the practice. Sure, she may have occasionally dodged idol practice back in high school, and in college she had to divide her time with studying. But during her brief stint as a full-time professional, she had gone all out. And now she found missed the routine physical exercise.
While her energy levels were nowhere near that of some of her close friends, sitting around setting up a business was leaving her with too much to spare. Lately, Nico was finding herself tapping a foot anxiously, fidgeting unconsciously or just generally feeling restless. Daily walks helped a little, and Maki was more than willing to exhaust her in the evening, but part of her wondered if she would ever be able to get back into a practice routine once Egao was up and running; to say nothing of getting back on stage.
Nico jumped at her phoneās incoming message tone. She reached over to the device and unlocked the screen to see the sender. Hanayo. Perfect timing. Nico smiled. What wonderful idol news would they talk about today? What glorious idol related topic could she use as a distraction to take her mind off things for a few moments?
RiceQueen: Nico-chan
NicoNii: Whatās up, Hanayo?
RiceQueen: Would you be willing to help me with something?
NicoNii: Of course
NicoNii: Nico always stands ready to help her friends!
RiceQueen: Thanks Nico-chan
RiceQueen: Itās about Rin-chan
NicoNii: Oh?
RiceQueen: You know about her internship, right?
NicoNii: I remember you two talking about it
NicoNii: But I donāt remember the details
NicoNii: Something about assisting the PE department of a local high school?
RiceQueen: Thatās right
Nico furrowed her brow. What the heck was Hanayo going to ask of her? Nico knew next to nothing about being a teacher.
RiceQueen: A few of the students recognized Rin-chan as a former member of Āµās
RiceQueen: So they asked her advice on starting their own school idol group
Ah, so it was idol related after all. Nico smirked and decided to tease.
NicoNii: What, and Rin doesnāt think she can handle it?
NicoNii: I thought she did just fine as the leader of the group when Honoka stepped down
Though she was using it to joke on Rinās behalf, Nico was being honest about her assessment of the younger girlās capabilities.
RiceQueen: No thatās not quite it
NicoNii: Oh?
RiceQueen: I think sheās doing fine
RiceQueen: The group is already prepping for their first live
NicoNii: So whatās the problem?
RiceQueen: Sheās overextending herself
RiceQueen: Between her normal classes and the internship, her schedule was already busy
NicoNii: And sheās too prideful to ask for help?
RiceQueen: I donāt think thatās quite it either
RiceQueen: I think sheās having too much fun to realize how much she is overworking herself
Nico laughed out loud. Apparently, she must have forgotten for a moment that they werenāt talking about Maki. Or Umi. Or Eli. Those three were often stubborn about doing things themselves.
NicoNii: I suppose that does sound like something Rin would do
NicoNii: So you want me to lend a hand?
NicoNii: Ease her load a bit?
RiceQueen: If you would be so kind, yes
RiceQueen: But only if you have the time yourself
RiceQueen: I know how busy you must be setting up your company
RiceQueen: I only wish I could help more
NicoNii: Youāve helped plenty so far
NicoNii: More than you probably realize
NicoNii: And I know youāll be helping even more in the future
NicoNii: Just concentrate on your studies for now
RiceQueen: Thanks Nico-chan
RiceQueen: So do you think you can help Rin-chan and the new school idol group?
NicoNii: It would be my honor
NicoNii: You know itās funny, I was just thinking about how I was missing my practice routine
NicoNii: Then you messaged me
NicoNii: Itās like the contrived setup in a sitcom or something
RiceQueen: That is an interesting coincidence
RiceQueen: But a good one
RiceQueen: Thanks Nico-chan
RiceQueen: I know Rin-chan would love to work with you on this
RiceQueen: And for the girls to have not just one but two famous school idols help them
RiceQueen: And one of them being the No. 1 Idol in the Universe
Nico grinned. Now Hanayo was just stroking Nicoās ego unnecessarily. Not that she had any intention of stopping the younger girl, of course.
RiceQueen: I think theyāll love it as well
RiceQueen: No, I know theyāll love it
NicoNii: It sounds like it will be fun
NicoNii: Iām looking forward to it
RiceQueen: Iāll tell Rin-chan right away
RiceQueen: Sheāll be thrilled
RiceQueen: Thanks again Nico-chan
NicoNii: I should thank you for thinking about giving me such an opportunity
NicoNii: You know
NicoNii: Depending on how it goes, maybe we can make it a regular thing
NicoNii: Helping new school idol groups
NicoNii: It can be something special that Egao does for the next generation of idols
RiceQueen: That sounds like a really good idea
RiceQueen: But you wouldnāt charge for it would you?
NicoNii: Of course not
NicoNii: It would be pro bono
NicoNii: Pro bono publico
NicoNii: Pro bono idoli?
RiceQueen: Pro bono schola idoli!
NicoNii: Yes!
NicoNii: Thatās it exactly!
NicoNii: If big name law firms require, or at least strongly encourage their lawyers to do a certain amount of pro bono work, I donāt see why we canāt do the same
NicoNii: Everyone that works for Egao will need to put in some hours helping some school idols
NicoNii: Well, I guess Iām not sure if weāll make it mandatory or not, but I think we should at least offer some rewards and incentives to those who do
RiceQueen: Would that still be considered pro bono if theyāre being rewarded?
NicoNii: Well the students wouldnāt be the ones paying for the services rendered and the rewards would not be in the form of regular payā¦
NicoNii: Or maybe it will be paid?
NicoNii: I donāt know
NicoNii: Soā¦ maybe?
NicoNii: Iāll ask Maki-chan about it
NicoNii: Surly she has a lawyer or two in her family
NicoNii: They canāt all be doctors
RiceQueen: Maybe
RiceQueen: But if Iām going to be working for Egao soon
RiceQueen: Perhaps I can get an early start on my quota?
RiceQueen: The more we talk about it, the more I want to help you and Rin-chan with her group
NicoNii: I think that would be great
NicoNii: Get the Navigators back together
NicoNii: But like I tell Maki-chan all the time
NicoNii: Donāt let it take precedence over your studies
RiceQueen: Understood
RiceQueen: Maybe just on nights I donāt have early classes the next day?
NicoNii: Whatever works best for you
NicoNii: But Egao is going to need the power of the knowledge and skills youāre acquiring with your degree
RiceQueen: Iāll do my best
NicoNii: I know you will
NicoNii: You always do
NicoNii: Anyway, Maki-chan is going to be home soon, so I will need to get started on making dinner soon
NicoNii: I can keep talking but there may be delays in my responses as I prepare stuff
RiceQueen: Alright
NicoNii: And I suppose I should make something for Nozomi and Eli as well
NicoNii: Have Rin send me the details when she can
RiceQueen: Will do
NicoNii: So did you catch the latest PV for that new group we were talking about last week?
Rice Queen: Yes!
RiceQueen: It was awesome!
NicoNii: I know, right?
And just like that, the two-idol obsessed girls fell into their happy routine of chatting about their favorite topic.
Authorās Note Continued: This scene serves as the in-universe beginning of an idea I had for Egao JÅshÅ way back when I āfirstā introduced it back in HtHaN 6; the company dedicates a portion of its resources to helping school idol groups, free of charge. Pro bono schola idoli, for the good of the school idol.
And sure, the students benefit from the program, but its not completely selfless on Nicoās behalf. Itās a win-win situation. More successful idols out there means more songs for her to listen to, more concerts and lives for her to attend, more PVs for her to watch, more merchandise for her to collect, etc. And itās good publicity. If the school idols Egao has helped decide to go pro, the company that helped them get to where they are is going to, at the very least, cross their mind when they start looking to sign with someone.
Lastly, while I was tempted to throw this scene into the āA Career Changeā story arc, I think Iād rather write a new arc that follows the adventures of the former After School Navigators/Āµās Public Relations subgroup as they start helping a fledgling school idol group. Which of course means more notes for the collection and more scenes added to my āTo Writeā list... Que zura, zura... ā®(ļø¶ā½ļø¶)ā
Edit: Also, I used a bit of Google-fu to look up pro bono law services in Japan. Apparently, while they donāt use the same terminology as the States, the core values are essentially the same; encouraging services to be provided to those who otherwise cannot afford it. I didnāt read into extreme depth on the topic, however, as I figured that any inaccuracies in the scene can be dismissed as ignorance on the part of the characters. Of course, I would hope that nobody is seeking hard facts about how the world works in a fluffy fanfic.

10 Questions Tag Game
tagged by @julesruleswritesĀ
before I answer your questions, may I just comment thatĀ āhissedā is totally valid for describing phrases without enough sibilants. Itās the cross between wanting to yell and trying to whisper where it comes out all breathy and forced. Absolutely a worthwhile descriptor, even for regular sentences, imo.
1. Who would you dedicate your wip to, if you ever wrote a book dedication for it? (Or if youāve published, who have you dedicated things to before?)
Ooh. Iāve published fic, which doesnāt really get a dedication section, but Iād probably dedicate my book to whichever friends/partners/metamours were most helpful in the editing process, and the ones who let me inevitably ramble at them nonstop about the book while it was in progress.
2. What car does/would your OC drive? Can be as specific or vague as you want; I know Finley drives an old Civic, but who knows what the heck Logan drives.
boring answer, but Mason is 12 and shouldnāt be driving. In an emergency he might attempt to drive the vehicle of whichever adult he is spending time with, which at the moment would be an aging pickup truck. Better hope itās automatic because heās not going to figure out how to drive a manual transmission car without guidance, and especially not while panicking.
Erin is a Hogwarts student and also doesnāt exactly have access to cars. Sheās happy to fly the school Cleansweep broom, but she isnāt all that enthusiastic about Quidditch or racing brooms, so sheāll take whatās available for transportation.
3. Do you prefer to do your writing in the morning, afternoon, evening, etc?
I do my best work between approximately 10:30 am and 3pm, but unfortunately Iām usually at work during that time, so evenings are a tolerable substitute. If I succeed at getting up on weekends and Iām not drowning in other commitments Iāll take that midday block for writing and that generally feels rewarding.
4. If your wip got a movie, what would that be like? Animated? Or nah?
animation is very underrated, and I wouldnāt mind an animation of anything I made, but given most of my actual WIPs are fanfiction, a true movie of them would likely match the original canon adaptation where relevant. Some animated, some live action.
5. Whatās the most recent change youāve made in your writing process/style?
Idk if this counts, but my resolution this year is to not let previous failures prevent me from following up on things I want to do. I havenāt actually pulled out Duolingo or my other language learning apps that I previously lost motivation for when I broke a streak, but this applies to my writing too. for example thereās a #jewishjanuary event that has daily prompts, and Iāve been letting myself write for whichever ones inspire me without getting stuck onĀ āoh but I havenāt written for _____ yet.ā In theory, hopefully, this will encourage me to write more consistently, at least this month, and if Iām really good about it, that habit will stick when I go back to myĀ āusualā WIPs in the absence of daily prompts.
6. Please tell me about your most beloved side/minor character, even if they donāt have a name or have had a different name every time they appear.
Again, writing mainly fic complicates my answer to this question, but looking at what Iāve created recently, I really like my OC Erin Fawley (from my #jewishjanuary prompt fills, since in many of them, Iām depicting Hermione being unapologetically Jewish at Hogwarts and in the magical world in general) Erin is a Gryffindor prefect, in the same year as Percy Weasley. Sheās also a half-blood, which she will claim proudly. Erin most often shows up early in the golden trioās first year, before Hermione is friends with Harry and Ron, and not only checks on Hermione for being the outcast of her social group (thereās always one, usually for no good reason), but when she realizes theyāre both Jewish, she helps Hermione feel a little more welcome by not having to fumble through rituals alone at boarding school. Erin is a good balance to Percy, because she has the mentorsā instinct of who needs her help, and in fact she occasionally lets her homework slide in order to help younger years with theirs or with other settling-in needs. Most teachers are understanding, and when she turns in her work on time, it averages EE grades. When she turns it in late, it could otherwise earn an A-EE but, depending on the teacher, gets marked down for lateness. Anyway, all of Gryffindor house besides Harryās yearmates and the Weasleys and the Quidditch team are a blank slate and I enjoy slowly filling that in.
7. What scene are you most excited about writing right now?
When I get all the in-between written, Iām looking forward to, in my fic Eavesdropping, writing Kaito and Akako interacting, with him putting aside his mistrust in magic to ask for advice, and her being slightly less cryptic than usual, in sympathy.
Also, Iāve half-finished yesterdayās prompt fill for Sukkot (for #jewishjanuary) and Iām looking forward to finishing that, and showing the origin of Erin and Hermioneās friendship, and also depicting the struggle of making do when the people running your school have never heard of your traditions, let alone know what to provide. (etrog? You think they have an etrog in scotland? they probably substitute a lemon unless Erin got one in August and had a family member put a stasis spell on it and brought it with her. Willow branches are definitely from the whomping willow - Erin asked McGonagall, who asked Hagrid, who collected them)
8. What font do you like to write your wip in?
I donāt go out of my way to set a font, so Iāll tend to use whateverās the default in whichever program Iām using at the time, but I have something of a preference for serif fonts.Ā
9. What and when is your next self-imposed deadline? Ex: mine is to finish this draft by May. Howās progress on that?
I would like to finish my Sukkot prompt fill before the other High Holy Days prompts roll around in the #jewishjanuary list, since I didnāt succeed in writing it day-of. (Iāve been aiming for finishing each prompt day-of, but again, this year Iām not letting lack of progress towards daily goals prevent me from continuing. Thatās my goal) I uh... didnāt make any progress on it today and I havenāt checked the prompt list to remember how long I have until I miss this deadline...
10. Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate?
Hot chocolate! Sometimes tea if Iām in the right mood (or if itās a good spiced chai from the Indian restaurant across the road from my office. I will never turn that chai down). But in general, I havenāt acquired a taste for coffee or alcohol or black tea (without enough milk and sugar) or anything else in the category ofĀ āvaguely bitter adult drinksā
My Questions and tags under the cut (also, feel free to answer and tag me back even if I didnāt tag you)
In your WIP, how many other people face equivalent struggles to the protagonist? How many others are on equivalent journeys that the audience may or may not hear about?
What is a worldbuilding detail you are proud of but that you havenāt been able to include in your WIP?
What is your method for coming up with names for OCs? How often do your charactersā names reflect the journey they will take?
Music, white noise, or silence while writing?
Whatās your routine for writing (if you have one)? Which part of it is the hardest to stick to?
What is your OCās biggest weakness? Do they realize it?
Do you hoard notebooks? When you write in them, do you prefer pen or pencil? (classic vs mechanical pencil? ball point vs fountain vs gel pen?) Or is everything just digital for you?
Tell me something good about an OC you dislike (or about an antagonist, if you love them all)
Which sense (touch, taste, smell, balance, ...) do you most like writing descriptions for? Are there any you leave out, intentionally or not? (Iāve sent out this question for STS before but itās one of my favorites to ask)
What accomplishment are you proud of right now?
And my very short tag list (lmk if youād like to be added to or removed from my general tag games list, or for any particular WIP or fandom) @writebusofdoomā @bexminxā participate if youād like, and you have the time and energy to.
