Deadline
"This report is a day late."
Bumblebee shrugged. "I've been busy cleaning up the rec. room, like you ordered. I worked really hard, if that means anything."
Prowl scoffed. "Well, now you can work really hard on cleaning the energon tanks."
"What?"
"Bumblebee, the late report and insistently nonchalant attitude just goes to show you don't regret anything, so until you at least act as though you're trying to be a proper soldier, I can't let this insubordination go unpunished."
"It was a prank!"
"Conversation over. Get out of my office."
Bumblebee groaned. "You suck, Prowl."
"So I've been told. Get out."
Forgotten Absence
Bulkhead rubbed the back of his helm. "It's not really my kind of music, but hey, if it makes you happy, I won't stop you."
Bumblebee nudged the large bot with a look of mock indigence. *Hey, it's good music! Jazz would agree with me!*
He faltered and his doorwings wilted. Bulkhead quickly placed an encouraging servo on Bumblebee’s shoulder.
"Hey, kid,” he said. "I'm sure Jazz and the others got Optimus's message. They'll be here in no time, and we can spend all night debating about music."
*Yeah.* A little brighter, Bumblebee nudged his comrade again. *I'd totally win, though.*
Going Mental
"Well, according to my scans, there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with you, physically or mentally." Ratchet frowned thoughtfully. "And you say this is nothing like the way it was before? With Megatron?"
Bumblebee shook his helm as he stepped out of the scanner. "No, it's just voices, blank spots in my memory banks, and small processor-aches, but it feels nothing like it was when Megatron was in there."
"But you're afraid it may be something akin to that situation," Ratchet surmised.
"Well, yeah." Bumblebee rubbed the back of his helm. "I mean, it's either that or I'm going crazy, right?"
Random Singing Party for No Reason!
It started small. Russell was channel surfing and started singing some pop song under his breath. Denny passed by, heard the song, and started singing along with his son. Grimlock caught on next, singing along at the top of his vocals, with Sideswipe coming in not long after. Soon, Bumblebee could hear almost his entire team practically shouting the song from the other side of the scrapyard.
It didn't stop at one song, either - someone would always jump in with another song, and the others would follow suit. It was, strangely enough, extremely enjoyable ambiance, and Bumblebee smiled as he continued cataloging artifacts.

In my opinion Season 3 is easily the worst season of Earthspark.
It's thematically incohesive (don't trust Decepticons, but also Prowl is a prick for not warming up to Megatron immediately), Optimus is unlikeable and bitchy, Thrash's only character trait is cowardice like he's Scooby Doo or something, no good resolution for Starscream, Breakdown and Bee's friendship is broken up because ?????, the Quintessons are impersonal, unengaging enemies compared to the Decepticons (who just jet into space, bye), and a lot of parts are just really boring. (The Fairmaestro episode and the movie night episode being the biggest offenders.)
There were scenes I liked in Season 3, moments I liked, and I liked Prowl. But overall this season was hit by Ultra Magnus' Cloak Syndrome.
You know how in Netflix's War for Cybertron series Ultra Magnus goes on his own to parlay with Megatron? And he's wearing a Mysterious Cloak? And you could tell the writers were biting their lips thinking about the epic moment when it was revealed to be Magnus? But it's undercut by the reality that Transformers have very distinct sizes, colors, and silhouettes, so it's complete unbelievable that even a single Decepticon would wonder whose giant shoulder stacks those were?
Yeah, that's how I feel about Season 3 Earthspark. And just Earthspark in general tbh. We don't get a natural story driven by who the characters are. The characters live in service to story beats, whether they make sense or not.
The writers were like "It would be dramatic if Breakdown chose the Decepticons over Bee. So let's have him do that." No setup, no instances or flashbacks of Shockwave or Soundwave saving Breakdown's life or bonding moments with other 'Cons or anything to show why Breakdown would pick them over Bumblebee, who he has risked his life for before.
The writers were like "It would be cool to have a scene where Optimus and Megatron reconcile! So we'll start off this season with Optimus being mad at Megatron." No reason for it; he's just mad so that later, like the Maltos, we can clap our hands when it gets resolved.
By contrast look at the Beast Wars episode "Gorilla Warfare".
BW Dinobot scoffs at Optimus Primal's gentle and curious nature as he studies a flower. Later when Primal gets infected with a "go apeshit" virus, Dinobot is like "Well I'm sorry for the guy but this strategically good, his anger will win us the war." But then Primal's blind rage nearly gets him killed and Dinobot realizes how much the Maximals depend on not just Optimus' strength, but his calm wisdom.
The episode ends with Dinobot sitting by Primal's bed, waiting for him to wake up so he can tell Primal he's glad he's back to normal, and Dinobot leaves the flower from the start of the episode by his bedside as an oblique apology. THAT was a conflict that made sense, that arose from the core of who the characters were, and that was resolved based on a character's growth. And it all happened in a half-hour!
Like some of these ideas in Earthspark WOULD work if they were fleshed out . . . I could imagine Breakdown having a bond with other Decepticons and really caring for them; sure, I can write my own fanfic. But if I'm watching a TV show and it's a Big Plot Point then it is the job of the writers to show me that, on the screen. I shouldn't have to be filling in their lack of storytelling with "uh maybe offscreen--" and "what if--".
#earthspark#season 3#Earthspark spoilers#spoilers#Thrash#Breakdown#Bumblebee#Breakbee#(more like broken up Bee am i right)#Megatron#Optimus Prime#Prowl#War For Cybertron#Ultra Magnus#friends I cannot tell you how hard I laughed at Magnus' stupid little cloak#best moment from that whole trilogy#oh WFC Optimus Prime screaming ''TELL ME YOU FORGIVE ME'' at Megatron is another example of this unearned attempt at an Epic Moment

Bumblebee Art - War for Cybertron Trilogy
I wanted to do a complex one, as practice. Also sorry for the delay, I was doing homework!
-UPDATE- The completed version is ready, check it out here to see it!
This design I believe also appears on some IDW comics? (I have never read them) But it is very similar to the G1 version, but with grills on the cheeks in case Bee wants to do some carne asada. Here's the bigger version:
Personally, I like this design. Maybe I'll do at the end a top 5 designs or something now that I'm really analyzing Bee's designs. Time for the poll:

Prowl is from Petrex in IDW Only.
He is from Praxus in Dreamwave, TFP, and WFC for sure. He and several other who share his frame such as Barricade, Bluestreak, and Smokescreen have been referred to as the Praxian collection or listed from Praxus by Hasbro.
Dreamwave comics named Prowl's home town Praxus during his meet up with Grimlock with Jazz accompanying him. Bluestreak was also made Praxian in Dreamwave though the massacre of his home city was established as early as 1980s and grew more detailed as time went on including him being the only survivor and what fanon calls the "Fall of Praxus" originates from the Dreanwave novels which detail it from his and Megatron’s POVs.
I wanted to make one silly meme and it turned into Cybertronian geography lesson what a wonderful fandom to be in♡

They finally posted a trailer and poster for the next batch of EarthSpark. And it’s described as S3, though experience with Netflix makes me think this is just the remainder of S2… Still according to the marketing, fans finally got a third season, so that counts for something. It’s only roughly 7 episodes, but G1’s final fourth season was a three part finale, so a very short season isn’t unheard of.
This poster is a lot better than the past main posters they’ve used over and over.
These are better also, but they don’t get used much.
But after RotB & TFONE, I think we can all agree decent advertising isn’t modern Hasbro & Paramount’s strong suit.
As for the trailer itself, it continues a trend I’ve noticed where most EarthSpark ancillary stuff tends to down play the Terrans. Twitch appears for a split second and Thrash appears in a gag where he gets shot… continuing his “just kinda there” vibe.
The trailer primarily focuses on the traditional Autobot & Decepticon conflict, with a big focus put on Prowl, the newest and seemingly only Transformer added to the cast so far.
A news article further describes Prowl as an “old world” Autobot detective who trusts the hard facts & always finds the truth. He is immediately distrustful of Optimus’ allies, so presumably that includes the Maltos, Terrans and naturally Megatron. It’s interesting how he’s specifically described as a detective, perhaps that’s to avoid ACAB allegations I could see the old writers attempt through him….
Prowl’s G1 profiles cast him as a by the books, semi prickly, military strategist. This doesn’t really get explored in the old cartoon, and while it was touched on briefly in Marvel, IDW went hog wild with it, casting its Prowl as a corrupt cop antagonist towards the end of the run. IDW2 cast him as more of a detective pre-war though, possibly where EarthSpark borrowed it from, and while he was still a hard-aft, he had a soft spot for his pet dinosaur-alien.
The main villains of the season, unsurprisingly, are the Quintessons. Their leader is a female Judge, who the blurb declares it “is her birthright to possess the power of the Emberstone. She’s wise, dangerous, and her ego is so large that it’s no wonder she has five heads”.
What exactly constitutes gender among the Quints has never really been defined before.
It might be safe to say as far as the G1 cartoon is concerned, they’re an all male race.
WFC & CV attempted to insert female gender among the Judges, having some of the masks speak in a female voice.
That adds another oddity to Judge biology, as the G1 cartoon or Marvel UK comics never stated the other faces being separate personalities, instead other media describes them as different emotional states.
Alpha Q in Superlink did have multiple personalities based on which mask was displayed, each one squabbling/talking amongst themselves.
Presumably WFC/CV borrowed from Alpha Q, but the ES Quintesson Judge might be operating on G1 logic, each mask being a single (female) gender, as she has a female voice actor only.
The other big G1 thing the trailer shows is the Hate Plague. The leaked synopsis already revealed it, but like G1, those infected with the plague glow an intense red.
Once infected, they turn incredibly violent and try to kill each other. Despite the G1 show’s violence, nobody actually died ironically, at least it was never confirmed. The synopsis implies the Quintessons unleashed the Hate Plague on the Transformers, and while the 80’s Quints were instead among the victims of the outbreak, they do have a vague connection to it.
The oldest known leader within the Matrix, only known as “It”, resembles a Quintesson, with Japanese media confirming that’s what they are. Optimus Prime asks this ancient Quintesson how to combat the Hate Plague, with It saying the Plague couldn’t be outright destroyed but contained, where a wise man trapped the spores in a star. The spores nevertheless has a weakness to pure wisdom, so Optimus unleashes the power of the Matrix and uses its eons long store of wisdom to eradicate the virus once and for all… Until it briefly returns in Beast Machines.
As mentioned before, the Hate Plague isn’t exactly a popular concept cartoons like to go back to. Comics don’t like using it typically either, so its inclusion here is both unique but also a little… peculiar. I’m leaning towards it being a vague, modern topical metaphor for something, as an infected Megatron is fighting Optimus in particular. Probably some hogwash about Megatron succumbing to his biases and own hatred, but we’ll see soon enough.
Perhaps the most utterly bizarre detail is the blurb seemingly confirming the return of Spitfire and Aftermath.
How…?
Starscream yanked out their Allspar-er-Emberstone Shards, and the rock itself is dust. You can’t get any deader than that.
The only thing I can guess, is similar to Sari’s key, the Sleeves are the repository of the Emberstone’s life giving energies (the sleeves do just about anything else now so why not), and the Malto kids are incentivized to revive the two Decepticon Terrans for some reason.
MetroTitans in IDW also can grant life and that was carried over to Prime Wars, so it’s possible Terratronus can grant life too, and she restores the Terracons.
Worst case scenario is the two hellions are back up and running like nothing happened, and their death is never addressed again.
Crap writing if so, but the previous two scenarios would be preferable.
Not much longer to wait now. This might be the final batch, as the Quintessons make sense as the final end goal in the struggle over the Emberstone. The show has never been super committed to showing what’s going on Cybertron that whatever Prowl and Cosmos have to add to the matter is probably the best we’ll get. Plus the Terrans don’t have much incentive or interest to even go to Cybertron anyway; Alex would get more out of going there than his kids. Only thing I could guess is the Quints took over Cybertron off screen and that loosely ties into the Judge’s role on Earth, but eh. We’ll see.

Hey guys, I know some folks like to make a fuss over Prowl being a cop, but this is the list of continuities in which he is actually a cop:
RID01
Unicron Trilogy
IDW1
WFC Trilogy
IDW2
That's it. Most of the time, it's just an alt mode. Most writers just focus on what he's doing in the Autobot army (tactical/second in command/whatever else).

Prepare for Trouble
"Hey, can we stop talking about work? Just for a bit? I mean, I haven't seen you for awhile. I want to hear how you're doing from you, not from some weekly message."
Before Prowl could reply, a certain adolescent sparkling ran up to the two strolling bots. "Prowl, guess what!"
"Not now, Smokescreen," Prowl said automatically.
Prowl's companion broke into a grin. "Ah, so this is the kid you've been telling me about!"
Smokescreen stared at the bot, bemused. "Prowl's been talkin' about me?"
"Yeah! Prowler's told me all about you! I'm Bluestreak, by the way."
"Oh!" Smokescreen quickly saluted. "Smokescreen."
Welcome to the Family
"So, if you're not an officer, and you're not a new squad member, then what are you?"
Bluestreak couldn't help laughing at the sparkling's utter confusion. "I'm just an old friend of Prowl's. Well, I think of him more as a brother, really."
Smokescreen frowned. "You're his brother?"
"No, no," Bluestreak laughed. "Not exactly. See, after my home was destroyed, Prowl took me in. He watched over me, helped me get better, and even trained me. So in that sense, I view him as my big brother. Which, hey! When ya think about it, kinda makes you my brother too!"
Hope It's Worth It
"And you're positive it was the Alchemor?"
Jazz shrugged. "Pretty positive. I just kinda took Bumblebee's word for it, and believe me, that bot's word always means somethin'."
"Yeah, tell me about it." Smokescreen sighed, pressing a servo to his helm. "Earth... Primus, that's gonna be real pain in the aft to get to."
Jazz tilted his helm, a sign of mild concern. "Kid, I don't know exactly what you're hopin' to do, but I can tell a lotta big bots are gettin' really jumpy about it. So whatever you're doin', for your sake, I sure hope it's worth it."
"Yeah, me too."
Marks of a [Youngling]
"Hello, sir. My name is Smokescreen. I've been assigned to be your bodyguard."
The words were practiced, respectful and to the point. The bot who spoke them stood rigidly, faceplates neutral, like one standing before a commanding officer - all marks of a trained soldier, ready to take orders and obey them.
But there was something about the way his doorwings nearly quivered in their stiffness, about the way his faceplates struggled to remain neutral, that suggested something else - a youngling who wanted to be anywhere but here.
The archivist smiled warmly. "Hello, Smokescreen. My name is Alpha Trion. I am very pleased to make your acquaintance."

I apprecite Prowl's slutty design from early exrid as much as the next person, don't get me wrong, but that only came out of a quick rip off of a Bluestreak WFC design because Hasbro told Andrew Griffith at the last minute to keep the exRID designs in line with the videogame's aesthetic. And I really really wish he could have used his previous concept because I love it

In defense of both sides:A lot of Prowl's asshole behavior in the fics is influenced by IDW's writing. And even that is what we got from IDW treating Prowl the way they did, even when his reactions and lines were valid, not all fans liked that treatment.
Are there other versions that also have a more "difficult" personality? Yes, but we're talking about SG (which is SG), WFC (even Skyfire was …a thing) and Dreamwave (which was more something 50/50, more of less).
I- yes, that was the point. The vast majority of constructiprowl fics take place in IDW, home to Prowl's famous Venomous Bastard character iteration. This silly AU takes place in G1, where Prowl is much, much sweeter and down to earth. His being confused and a little saddened by the earthlings' interpretation of him is direct commentary on that :/

Prowl Art - Prime
This design, or character in general, never appeared on the show. But it exists as concept art exclusively, both WFC and Prime's design. I used the Prime design for this one.
His art is inspired from this image:
It would've been interesting to see this character on the show. I'll probably recover some his physique in my design, I'm already doing the fullbody design, at least sketches. But here's Prowl head art:
As for my design, I'll be revealing the face either tomorrow or on monday, I hope you like it!
