Mandy has a an actual nose. She was born with one. The only problem is that it's so sensitive that I pops off her face just to follow various scents in order to pursue them. Her nose ends up getting lost so often that she refuses to go out and look for it.

This is a very common trait amongst other members of Mandy's species as well. Almost every one of them lacks a nose. Regardless of not having a nose most of the time, Mandy can still smell. She has tiny nostrils that take in scents.

Despite Mandy never being depicted with a nose in the television series, she actually has one. It's a small, black, triangular, cold, wet nose. Like an actual dog's nose, it is super sensitive. The coldness and wetness of her nose allows her to pick up even the faintest of scents and can even determine the direction of where the smell is coming from.

The reasons for Mandy removing her nose from her face are as follows:

It is highly sensitive to the point where it can drive her crazy.

And of course, if she wore it, it would most likely give away that she's not actually a human when in disguise.

Mandy is very insecure about the lack of her nose and often wishes she could wear it again. She's even quite bothered by it when other people point it out. She is also infamous for not having one so much so to the point that she became the poster child for "The Noseless Page" on TV Tropes.
