Here's a little post explaining the designs of the main two in my aCiP AU/fanfic!! :]

Sonic's original outfit was unfortunately ruined during his first face-off with the beast the hunters were called in to deal with, so Amy had lent her sweater and gloves to him! The setting is in late fall, so it's pretty cold. His gloves were actually destroyed when he transformed for the first time, but he simply told Amy and the rest he lost them. The jacket he wears is a signature of his profession, he's pretty proud of it!

During his encounter with the beast he also gained two injuries that made it difficult for him to walk or move, one on his leg and the other on his side. They were healed after his first transformation, but he continues pretending to hurt so the others don't find out about it, obviously, as it would be pretty suspicious.

Shadow wears the old trenchcoat he has from who knows where mostly for warmth and only during the day. He's pretty fluffy at night so the coldness doesn't affect him too much!

He still has limiter rings for backstory reasons, ones that will be revealed sometime in the future! He takes good care of them and they remain on his body even in werehog form.

Shadow doesn't visit any settlements, so he doesn't care much for hiding his identity in the woods. He only allows himself to be seen during the day by those he chooses.

I'll describe their werehog forms sometime later!! :] I'm very brainrotten about this silly au so I could talk about it for hours ehe

I wasn't claiming I “invented” werehogs/Sonic Unleashed and that SEGA stole my idea or anything lol I was only 13 years old and these drawings only existed in my notebooks, I wasn't online back then.

I've always been obsessed with horror/monster movies so starting in 2005 I came up with this story where Sonic got turned into this werewolf-monster-thing whenever the moon was out. It was literally only ever when the moon was visible though, if it was cloudy he would change back.

The main antagonist was another monster. Eggman had nothing to do with this storyline (at least not from what I remember, this was 20 years ago after all).

He was a lot more wolf/dog-like in this form so he could swim and do other dog-like things. Also, he couldn't talk when he was in this form. He could think like normal but he could only growl or bark if he tried to talk.

The story sucked (I mean I was only 13!) but I LOVED drawing him as this thing and I drew it ALL. THE. TIME.

I even drew the other hedgehogs as these creatures:

Again, I am not claiming that I invented werehogs. But you can imagine how excited I was when I ended up learning about Sonic Unleashed later and I was like this is a dream come true!
