Random werecreate thing I have for my oc's universe

Werecreatures are anthropomorphic animals of which can stand and communicate like humans, but share features like appearances and behavior that match the animal/beast that it came from.

All of them have symbols similar to spellcaster elven. The mark determines the mystical elements that they have (another speices of mine but basically weird marks on their skin that can glow magic wow!!!) along with their beast-like features. Like for example, a werewolf with the symbol of floral magics, they will be connected to nature magically the same way elven would be and will be resistant to harmful plant-related defenses/attacks, and plants they tend will grow faster. And plants they touch at the full moon will grow even faster and stronger.

The full moon is when they feel the most beast-like. Most won’t rampage but will most definitely transform. Only the angriest werecreatures rampage. Sometimes their symbols would glow. And symbols DO show up in human form.

There are stages to how much beast shows up on their person. Stage 1 would be some features like ears or a tail. Stage two would be the basic werewolf look. wolf head, digitigrade legs, claws, the works! stage 3 would just be something like straight up wolf or approaching. Certain were creatures can be locked into a stage, like for example one would stay stage 2 forever, and can not go below or past stage 2. They would likely just be born that way and be stuck after their first transformation

A werecreature born as a werecreature would only be able to transform when they reach puberty.

The Little Frog that Could(n't)

So for some context here: my players have set out for a weeks travel in order to save the parties Captain, Miandriel who has been captured by their current boss enemy, Elluin. (Actually he drank a genderswap potion and befriended Elluin so he’s quite alright) Elluin is a smart but weak enemy so he set up a master plan to defeat them. Exhausting them to death. Every time the party would try to rest they would be attacked and forced awake by a ground tunneling shapeshifter called an Ol. This had only gone oncfor two nights but as they lost their horses and carriage, and stacked up multiple levels of exhaustion they werecreally getting stressed. So when the Ol rolled a crit fail for its attack the party recieved an opportunity to strike it at long last. They actually almost one-turn-killed the thing. The whole party is hopped up on adrenaline after finally hitting their tormentor. Rogue - FINALLY! Now let me sleep you *profanity* Witch - Don’t let it get away! Shieldbearer (ooc) - I put on my broken druid ring! Me: Okay you turn into a *rolls* Frog Shieldbearer (ooc) - That works! I jump in the hole! Everyone - What? The party tried, and failed to stop him so he managed to jump into the hole as a frog. They waited for him to come back out, but he never came. The witch used locate creature and much to the party’s dismay, they found out that the Shieldbearer was dead.
