Wereknight could turn into knights "when they are needed", so I think that the transformation should not be cyclical but rather based on some kind of stimuli. Ideas:
- war horn/drum
- sound of clashing metal (PTSD metaphor)
- during the day, when the country of the wereknight is at war ( forced conscription curse)
- sound of a call for help
:0 Such amazing ideas oml!
Imagine like a wereknight hiding from the destruction, not wanting to turn, but at the cries of help they just cannot control themselves.
I love the visuals of an abnormally large knight shambling out of a shed, dragging a greatsword behind them. There is literally so much that could be done with these additions. Might write something about this fr

i don't really like when people say dungeon meshi is accidentally good autistic representation, because while i understand not wanting to make conclusions without explicit confirmation from the author, there's always the weird assumption that non-western authors somehow don't know about things like neurodivergency/queerness/etc. (on top of the assumptions that east asian authors are somehow more naive or oblivious to "western" social issues).
given that dungeon meshi started being published in 2014, it's not really a "work belonging to its times"—it's as contemporary as any other media we discuss on this site, which means it should be fair to assume it engages with contemporary topics (and at the very least, you shouldn't say that the representation is accidental with so much confidence)
but anyways, the chapter "perfect communication" in ryoko kui's "terrarium in a drawer" is some of the most straightforward autistic representation I've seen, and from now on I'm going to assume that laios's character writing is absolutely intentional in that regard:

Final Bug Fact:
The world NEEDS bugs. They keep the soil healthy, pollinate, control pests, and contribute to the worlds' ecosystem. By the end of the century, it is estimated 40% of insect species may go extinct due to habitat loss. Yes, that is very scary. But with even one beetle spared, one caterpillar rescued, and one Hollow Knight comic of all things, things will change. Because I know there's a lot more Dewi's out there than most people realize. Stay curious.
Thanks for going on this adventure with me. ♥︎

Comic Thoughts and Pictures Below!
I wanted to put here how amazing and sweet everyone has been with this comic. I finished a 75 page comic in 3 MONTHS. I am at a loss for words. That sounds crazy and it IS crazy. But man was it fun. Even on days were I wasn't able to draw due to fatigue or business, I loved working on it from start to finish. And guess what!? This is my first ever FINISHED comic :D I'm so proud of myself. I know there's some things I want to change and the art is wonky in most places...... but I'm content to let it be. What an amazing summer adventure!
I'm hoping to post the full comic on another Comic website. I may or may not edit some of the art ^w^ So I'll let y'all know when I release it.
Interested in learning what you could do to help your local insects? This is the basic stuff. Maybe make some Insect Hotels if you have the time!!! And never forget to spread the word about bugs. They need our help just as any animal on earth.
Still Here? Well you can look in the tags for little lore dumps if ur looking for stuff like that ;)

I keep on hearing people go all "The voice of the Smitten is such a creep. All he wants in the princess is someone to control and keep as a pretty object. He'd drop the princess if she wasn't the perfect petite maiden like in the damsel route." and I will not stand for the Smitten slander.
Like- He's been in love with her as a burning corpse ghost lady:
A terrifying ghost woman who wants to bring fear and chaos to the world:
And even a murderous blade monster woman who would kill you and enjoy every second of it:
Like, he ALWAYS loves the princess no matter what she looks like or how she acts, he loves her for being herself no matter what or who she is. That's the point of his character and I'm tired of people slandering my boy.

In like the wereknight idea! I think you could have different types of wereknight. You could have wereknight temperaments a la DnD alligments or you could have "white knight", "dark knight", "green knight", "old knight" wereknights etc.
They could feel differently about themselves about themselves out of the knight mode. Maybe a total sweetheart would have a knight that protects the weak or maybe a brutal warrior. Maybe somebody would become a knight that guards one specific thing at night.
I love D&D
Hell yeah!
My partner and I def agree with the different personality out of knight mode, that's what go us started.
There could even be a guy who specifically despises knights, and unfortunately turns into one on specific nights of the full moon (or any other condition we feel like making up

Bug Fact: More than 90% of all Bee species are solitary. But they pollinate just as much, if not more, than bees belonging to a colony. Pictures Below
