1. Spotify, SoundCloud, or Pandora? Uh… None, actually. I use YouTube and iTunes mostly. I have YouTube premium family (means that for $15, I get six accounts that can have YouTube Premium) so I don’t have to worry about ads and all that.
2. is your room messy or clean? Both? I only have a thin area of my room that can have movement, since it’s so small. The majority is taken up either of my bed or my dresser/end table/storage. So the room is full of stuff, but the main area is kept clean so I can move through it, ya know?
3. what color are your eyes? Green/blue, but mostly green. I also have brown in the center of my eyes. I guess you could call it hazel? I don’t really know what hazel eyes mean, honestly.
Here’s a close up I took a while ago. I’m looking at you!! Ha!
... I just realized I’ve not changed at all since I was a child. :-(
4. do you like your name? why? Yep! I like it. I have a long, more formal name (Katherine) but also a shorter, more informal nickname (Katie). I like this dynamic of my name. I also like how it sounds. Both of them. <3
5. what is your relationship status? Single, but okay with that. I’m starting to think I’m aro, as I don’t… ahh, like people? Much? It’ complicated.
6. describe your personality in 3 words or less Very, very, annoying.
7. what color hair do you have? I think you could call it golden?? I usually call it dirty strawberry blonde. It’s a coppery color, but also blonde. Not quite strawberry, not quite dirty. A mix?
This is a somewhat good example, but it is a bit more copper-toned than usual, due to the light next to my computer. The kids at work ask me sometimes if I dyed my hair, since it is almost completely orange on the badge my work printed for me, aha. But this shows the range of colors my hair goes through.
8. what kind of car do you drive? color? Ha! What, you think I’m a functioning adult? I don’t know how to drive.
9. where do you shop? Literally anywhere? I don’t care. I get my pants from Walmart, my shirts from wherever sells cute fandom shirts.
10. how would you describe your style? Ha!!! I answered this one in an ask, but I determined I have no style. I just prefer comfort to fashion.
11. favorite social media account Hm… I don’t tend to care much for social media accounts, personally at least. I just follow whatever is neat. I guess I like Game Grumps social media?? Eh.
12. what size bed do you have? Twin. It’s pressed up against the wall and I just sleep pressed into the corner like I’m trying to merge and become one with the wall. One day, sweet wall……..
13. any siblings? Sadly, yes. _._ An older brother. He’s actually fine, but still siblings...
14. if you can live anywhere in the world where would it be? why? Probably…. Hm. I liked New Zealand when I visited, but I don’t know if it would be the best place for me to live, since it’s just so different to how I live now. Same with Ireland, though both would be amazing for me. I think… honestly, where I currently live, since it has good weather and is familiar to me.
15. favorite snapchat filter? Don’t use snapchat! :-D
16. favorite makeup brand(s) Hm… I used to only use Bare Minerals, but they don’t have great coverage, I’ve found. I’ve been using Clinique now, but I think they make me break out, which is bad. I don’t like makeup and I always feel it on my skin, or else it makes me break out after usage. I have very sensitive skin, ya feel me?
17. how many times a week do you shower? Never! I hate showers. I don’t like the feel of being blind when the water gets into my eyes.
I take a bath twice a day, though. Once in the morning and once at night, where I wash my hair. I know I’m not supposed to wash my hair so often, but it’s a habit at this point and it helps me sleep now.
18. favorite tv show? Buffy the Vampire Slayer, mostly since it was so important to me growing up. I still love it, though! I just don’t tend to have favorites, ya know? But Buffy will always mean the most to me.
19. shoe size? I don’t… I don’t really know? Heels I’m a size 8, I think? But I wear size 9.5 for sneakers, since I like my shoes a bit big. I think??? I don’t really know.
20. how tall are you? Ehhhhhhhh I say I’m 5’4, but who knows. I think I’m 5’3 and a half. I just round up. According to my doctor’s records I shrank and am 5’2, so who even knows anymore. Height is a made-up concept to control the short. ;-)
21. sandals or sneakers? Sneakers, god. I wore sandals once for a fancy event and I got sand and dirt on my feet immediately. It was sad. :-(
22. do you go to the gym? HA!
23. describe your dream date I don’t really know. As I said, possibly aro. Maybe…… Uh…. Somewhere quiet. Private. I’m not good in groups or crowds. OR! Maybe a theme park, the absolute opposite of what I said. OR a fair. I love fairs! Anything, really. I’m not picky.
24. how much money do you have in your wallet at the moment? Oh! This one is a shock, because my dad just gave me a lot of money since I paid for dinner with my mom, since he was being an overly dramatic baby over me calling out his awful behavior and left us alone for dinner at Red Lobster, and he stubbornly paid me back. So I’ve got… let’s see… about $135, if you count the $30 I had in before.
25. what color socks are you wearing? Ha! Jokes on you! I’m not WEARING ANY SOCKS!!!! AHA!!!!!!!
26. how many pillows do you sleep with? One. Too many makes me feel weird.
27. do you have a job? what do you do? Well… I HAD job, because Covid. I was an after-school teacher, where I looked after kids, kind of daycare style, ya know? I loved it, and I love kids. Currently I’m “teaching” some of the kids I used to look after STEAM over Zoom. Apparently, the girls- sisters- missed doing my STEAM experiments each week and asked their mom to contact me to do the experiments with them over Zoom. I use “teaching” in quotes, since I mostly just do science activities with them, step by step, without much teaching involved. I used to explain why what we did was science, but I don’t want to make the kids do more work when they have so much with Covid going on. Also, I’m lazy, ha.
28. how many friends do you have? None! Seriously, but it’s okay. As I said earlier, I’m not the biggest fan of people so it’s kind of reliving to be on my own for the most part. I had been making a new friend before Covid, but we’ve not spoken much since. I did text her once and she seemed friendly still. Maybe we can meet up after this all is done with.
29. whats the worst thing you have ever done? Uh… I don’t really know? I used to get into fights online, mostly just fighting for what I believed in, but I never really attacked anyone, or I didn’t mean to. I’ve not done many bad things?? Not to make myself out to be a goodie-two shoes, but I don’t like hurting people or being “bad,” so I tend to avoid things like that. I’ve probably done things others consider “bad,” but that don’t register to me, so I don’t really know.
30. whats your favorite candle scent? Oh my god. I’m currently OBSESSED with this new candle from Bath and Body Works. It’s called Strawberry Pound Cake, but it smells like strawberry vanilla, and it’s AMAZING. I love it. I also have it in hand cream and hand sanitizer form and it’s THE BEST. It reminds me of those strawberry vanilla candy things from when I was a kid.
31. 3 favorite boy names Daniel, William, and… uh… I’m not sure. Alex, maybe? I know I like Daniel and William though.
32. 3 favorite girl names Emmaline, Clara, and… hmmm… Not sure, again.
33. favorite actor? Hm. Not sure. I don’t do favorites much. I guess Misha Collins? If this were about YouTube people, I’d say Dan Avidan in a heartbeat. Though… technically he is an actor… he did an actual YouTube show, with a plot and acting, so he’s technically an actor. So, then, him.
34. favorite actress? I’m even less sure about this one, honestly. I don’t pay attention to actors or actresses much, really. I know Misha since he does GISH, but otherwise I’m unsure about actors much.
35. who is your celebrity crush? Oh, Dan Avidan, clearly. He’s amazing. My profile pic on Tumblr has been the same for 4 years because I can’t get over the fact I met him. I used to change my profile pic every so often, with my artwork, but now I’m never changing my profile pic. Ever.
36. favorite movie? Uh…. Probably Phantom of the Opera, 2004. I love that film. Again, not super into favorite things, but if I had to pick one it would be PotO.
37. do you read a lot? whats your favorite book? Well, I DO read a lot. Mostly it’s fanfiction though, aha. And again, favorites aren’t really my thing. I used to say Island of the Blue Dolphins, but I reread that book a few years ago and didn’t like it as much. Still liked it but was more eh about it and never finished my read through. Maybe Stargirl, by Jerry Spinelli. I’ve not read it since I was a child, but I recall it being really good. My favorite book I’ve read recently would probably have to be Rebecca, by Daphne du Maurier. I had a lot of problems with it, but ultimately, I loved that book.
38. money or brains? Brains, obviously. They taste better. :-)
Though to be honest, I do say brains. Money is good, don’t get me wrong, but with brains the person can actually think about doing what is right or wrong. Money corrupts and without thought, there’s so way around it.
39. do you have a nickname? what is it? Yep! Technically I only go by my nickname, since I go by Katie, but my full name is Katherine.
40. how many times have you been to the hospital? Ooooh, personally? Once, when I broke my arm when I was 4, almost 5. Well, many times for that, but one time overall. I’ve been in the hospital often for my mom and dad, though. My mom is disabled and is a bit of a hypochondriac, so we sometimes have to take her to the hospital whenever she has pain, just to be safe. She did once have kidney stones, though, so it was needed. My dad had a panic attack once and thought it was a heart attack, so we were there for that. I also went to the hospital once when my grandma was dying, to say goodbye with my dad. It wasn’t sad, which says a lot about my and my dad’s relationship with my grandma.
41. top 10 favorite songs HA! Can’t. Seriously, can’t. I love too many songs equally for this one.
42. do you take any medications daily? Yeah. I used to take Seroquel nightly, but that just made me gain 40 pounds and didn’t help with mood much. It only helped me sleep and that was replaced by over the counter melatonin and Benadryl. So I gained 40 pounds for nothing and I’m struggling getting the weight off. Yay!!!!!!
43. what is your skin type? (oily, dry, etc) Both, I think?
44. what is your biggest fear? Death.
45. how many kids do you want? I don’t know, one or two? I don’t know if I want to get married though, so… Single mom for the win? I also might want to adopt older kids, or foster them at least, give them a place to live. When I’m on my own and have a stable, good paying job of course.
46. whats your go to hair style? Whatever my hair naturally does, honestly. I just brush it out and it does its own thing. I have thin, wavy hair, though, so it’s mostly fine. It parts in the middle, and I don’t have bangs. It refuses to grow passed my boob level, no matter how long it goes between haircuts, so it hangs there. It always grows back to boob level, but never passed. No idea why.
47. what type of house do you live in? (big, small, etc) Very presumptuous, question thing, to assume I live in a house. I live in an apartment, with my mom, dad, and older brother. It’s fairly big, with two bedrooms and a converted den for my bedroom, but it’s small for 4 of us. Less then 1500 square feet. I think 1200?
48. who is your role model? Hm. This is gonna sound conceited, but myself. Or, the person I want to be. I have an idea of what I’d like to be in life, and that is what guides me. It’s not based off anyone I’ve met, but based on my own personal desires, a mis-mesh of ideals. The only person you can be is yourself. Trying to be like someone else will only hurt you. Even wanting to be like someone else can be hurtful. Not that I’m putting down anyone who has role models! But it just… never worked for me. Putting people on pedestals hurt me, so I just look forward to being the best version of me that I can be.
49. what was the last compliment you received? Hm… I get a lot of compliments on my Facebook page, people saying I’m doing a good job with that. So that, probably. 50. what was the last text you sent? It was too my dad, who, as previously mentioned, was being a bit of a butt and was mad at me for calling him on his rude behavior to me and my mom. I texted “alright,” to him telling me to not buy him a takeout dinner. I didn’t listen though, and he ate it when we got home after sulking a bit. He’s better now, but he’s yet to apologize. He never does. -.- 51. how old were you when you found out santa wasn’t real? Uh… Wait, Santa isn’t… real…?!?!?!
Aha. JK. I don’t know. Maybe 8?? I don’t remember. I just know I believed when I was 6-ish, when Polar Express came out, since I asked for Santa bells for Christmas. I think I also believed the next year, but I don’t remember much. I learned the difference between Judaism and Catholicism around then, and eventually decided to be Jewish when I was 12-ish, but who knows, man. Who knows?
52. what is your dream car? One that self-drives and doesn’t ever crash, so I don’t have to drive myself.
53. opinion on smoking?
Bad! Bad, bad, bad!!! No smoking!
Truthfully, honestly. My mom gets really sick around smokers, especially around pot and vape smokers. It makes her have an allergic reaction. 54. do you go to college? Yeah baby! I just finished and will be getting my (probably useless) degree in the mail soon! Summa Cum Laude, baby! (Highest honors, if you don’t know what that means). Now I just got to get into grad school so I can do something with my Psych BA! Aha. Haha. Ahahaha. Ha… 55. what is your dream job? School psychologist! I want to help children, but don’t have the temperament to be a teacher. I’m too lenient and would let them walk all over me. I kind of do as an after-school teacher. The kids respect me, though, and like me well enough. I don’t think I could be the only person responsible for them, though. I get frazzled, which I learned while doing my STEAM activities and the kids would NOT listen, sometimes. I could do it, though, if the whole school psych thing doesn’t pan out. Or school counselor, would be my second choice. Something to do with kids, though. 56. would you rather live in rural areas or the suburbs? Hm. I like city life, though I think I’d prefer suburbs. I live in a kind of suburb, though I live in a major city… We just don’t have skyscrapers near where I live, only downtown. We have over a million people in my city, and 3 million in the county. So, big. 57. do you take shampoo and conditioner bottles from hotels? Uhm yeah??? Why wouldn’t you? They’re free souvenirs! I went to a kid-themed hotel once, near Disneyland, for my parent’s anniversary, which had this neat bubblegum shampoo from their kid spa. I loved it so much I asked my dad to buy me a whole bottle of it as a body wash. It was… expensive, but I still have some left over, which I’ve kept for some reason. 58. do you have freckles? Some, yeah. Not many on my face, just some around my arms, scattered. I have a big one on my left palm, at the base of the meat of my thumb, if that makes sense. Otherwise they’re just scattered all around. 59. do you smile for pictures? Yep! Well… my version of smiling. I don’t ever smile with my teeth, since they’re small and my lips are so long, so it looks awkward when I smile with teeth. Instead I just smile with my lips. 60. how many pictures do you have on your phone? HA! I had to get myself a 164 GB phone to deal with the fact that I take lots of photos. Over 2,000, now. 61. have you ever peed in the woods? Ew? No? I hate the woods. Or, going into the woods. I like the idea of woods and I like being in them, guided, but staying in them? No. Scary. 62. do you still watch cartoons? Yep! I’m currently watching She-Ra! I like it! 63. do you prefer chicken nuggets from Wendy’s or McDonalds? Oh, no contest. Wendy’s. I do like McDonalds’ chicken nuggets, but Wendy’s are just *chef kiss* mwah! 64. Favorite dipping sauce? Ranch, but I especially like Wendy’s ranch. It’s creamy and nice. 65. what do you wear to bed? Pretty much what I wear during the day. I used to literally just go to bed in my day clothes, before I started taking a bath each night, about 6 years ago. Now I wear yoga pants (ones without pockets, since I finally found ones with pockets for day use!!) and an old faded T-shirt. 66. have you ever won a spelling bee? HA! HAHA! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I can’t spell. I’ve liteally been spelling half my words wrong this entire time. Spell check is my best friend. Though! I did get to the finals of a class spelling bee once, since they gave me easy words (to me, at least) and my classmates harder ones. It was almost funny. 67. what are your hobbies? I like to draw, paint, write, do other crafty stuff… Things like that. I also read, fanfiction mostly. :-) 68. can you draw? Yep!!
Behold! My digital drawings!
This was my most recent traditional drawing, using charcoal for the first time. It was for GISH.
69. do you play an instrument? Nope! Ha, but I do wish I could, ya know? But I’m bad at doing different things with one hand vs. the other, which is why I can’t clap my hands and stomp my feet with alternating rhythm. I can only do one thing at once, ya know?
70. what was the last concert you saw? Ohh, hm. This is a good question… Hm… I think… It was at my county fair last year? A country dude with my parents. Trace Atkins, my dad said. I’ve not had the chance to see many concerts recently, sadly. :-(
71. tea or coffee? I like coffee better on the whole, but I’ve begun to like fruit teas, like raspberry or strawberry. I also like this nice orange/cinnamon tea.
72. Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts? Dunkin Donuts, is this supposed to be hard? We don’t have many where I live, though. I like their iced coffee from stores, though.
73. do you want to get married? Ehhhh…… I’ve talked about this before. I’m not sure, really. If I find someone I like who likes me, maybe. But I have a hard enough time making friends, so I doubt it.
74. what is your crush’s first and last initial? N.O.
(Stands for no one. :-) )
75. are you going to change your last name when you get married? IF I get married, probably not. I like my last name. It’s unique.
76. what color looks best on you? Hm. I don’t really know. Maybe red? I don’t have style so I don’t know. I like blue and purples, but who knows.
77. do you miss anyone right now? Eh, not really.
78. do you sleep with your door open or closed? Closed, but my “door” is a curtain, since I sleep in a converted den which has two open windows into the living room that are covered by curtains, and no door, which I also cover with a curtain on a shower rod. It was good when I was a sleepless teen, but now that I’m an adult trying to fix my sleep habits, it’s not so good, ya know.
79. do you believe in ghosts? Not… really. Not much more to say about this.
80. what is your biggest pet peeve? People being rude. Like… stop it.
81. last person you called` Hm. Prolly my dad? Or my brother. I don’t like calling people. Phone anxiety, ya feel me?
82. favorite ice cream flavor? Rainbow sherbet! Fun fact, when I was younger at camp, maybe 16 or 17, our camp counselor asked us this question and I replied with rainbow sherbet, saying it properly (sher-bet, not sher-bert) and my camp counselor went OFF, saying “Thank you!” for saying it properly. He was… something else.
83. regular oreos or golden oreos? Oooh, I like those cinnamon bun Oreos. You know the kind? They’re the BEST. I can’t buy them often or else… well. I’ve already gained 40 pounds the last couple years. No need for more, aha.
84. chocolate or rainbow sprinkles? Rainbow. Pretty!!
85. what shirt are you wearing? My “Scare to Care” shirt that I bought for charity a few years ago. It’s a charity that raises money for Camp Kesem, which helps children who have a relative undergoing cancer treatment have a nice, normal camp experience for free, I think.
86. what is your phone background? My lock screen is the picture of me and Dan, the background is the drawing I did of the Guardians of the Galaxy years ago.
87. are you outgoing or shy? Both! Aha. I’m friendly when talking to people, seemingly outgoing, but I don’t go up and talk to people. I fear I’m annoying them, ya know? And I’m awful in groups. I never know when to talk and when I do talk, I fear I’m annoying people. Actually… I always feel I’m annoying people. Aha. Ha…
88. do you like it when people play with your hair? Yep! People don’t do it often, though. Kids will, but you have to be careful when they do that. Sticky hands are not the best to be in your hair….
89. do you like your neighbors? I guess? I’ve not spoken to my neighbors since my next-door neighbors of 5 years moved out 5 years ago. They had kids my age, but we never really spoke. They were… not the brightest, or kindest. They once took in a stray puppy and locked it in their hot garage. My older brother and I freed it and kept it in our hallway outside our apartment, since we have emergency doors that we could close to keep him in, while we played with him. I’m allergic to dogs, though, and we have guinea pigs, so we couldn’t bring him inside our apartment. Luckily their parents got home after an hour or so and brought the dog to the shelter. They also had a different dog who kept escaping and my brother and I had to keep an eye on it often. It once got into our apartment and it was, ah. Fun. She didn’t hurt our pigs, though, so it was a plus!
90. do you wash your face? at night? in the morning? YES. Both morning and night. It has not helped my acne.
91. have you ever been high? Nope! Not even when I got my wisdom teeth out. I was fine the minute I woke. I felt ripped off. I was a bit over tired, but no more than if I’d not slept the whole night. Maybe I’m just always in a perpetual “high” state???
92. have you ever been drunk? Nope! I have a high tolerance, so one or two drinks does absolutely nothing for me. And I’ve never tried more than a coupe drinks. I’m almost afraid to see myself drunk, ya know? I’m so energetic usually, but keep a lot of thoughts inside, so who knows what I’d be like. I don’t like being out of control and I honestly think I’d hate it.
93. last thing you ate? Shrimp Scampi. From Red Lobster. ^-^
94. favorite lyrics right now Uh… Again, no real idea. I’m not good with favorite things.
95. summer or winter? Hm. Summer, I guess? It’s not much different where I live, though we get more rain during winter. I prefer heat to cold generally, though. So summer in general. I also like summer aesthetics, you know?
96. day or night? Hm. Day, though I do love night time. I just usually am inside during the night.
97. dark, milk, or white chocolate? Milk! I hate all other kinds of chocolate.
98. favorite month? Do people have favorite months?? February, I guess? Since I was born in February! And it’s a rebel. Only 28 days compared to the usual 30 or 31. And sometimes it has 29. Take that, months!
99. what is your zodiac sign Aquarius. :-D
100. who was the last person you cried in front of? Hm… that’s a… good question… I don’t like crying in front of people. Probably my mom or dad. I tend to head off on my own when I cry, though. I don’t like people seeing me sad, ya know?
Yay!! I’m done!! This took waaaayyyy too long. I’ve been doing this for probably over 2 hours. Hope y’all learned something. Prolly that I’m uninteresting, aha. ^-^ If you made it this far without skipping, I love you. <3 If you skipped… YOU’RE DEAD TO ME!
Ha, just kidding. ^-^
OR AM I?!?!
:-)
#My post#Personal#I don't know I did this other than I'm bored and I'm self-absorbed enough to want to answer questions about myself#I don't need you to ask me questions#I AM MY OWN WOMAN!!

Top 20 smartest UA first years
We all know which students are in class 1-A, but which students are truly A class?
This ranking will be based on the students’ intelligence and technique ratings in the official character books! Obviously a few people don’t have stats yet, so this is based on the 32 hero course students that do have registered stats, and the two non-hero course students that do as well.
•
Number 1: Momo Yaoyorozu.
Whilst she should technically come away with a perfect 10/10 if you add the 4/5 and 6/5 scores, I figured intelligence is worth a little more than technique in the rankings, so I put her first.
•
Number 2: Neito Monoma, Juzo Honenuki, and Setsuna Tokage.
This amazing trio all got perfect 10/10 scores, which would technically tie them with Yaoyorozu, but I valued her S rank over their A ranks. You guys can look at it whichever way you wish, whether you tie them or not. Either way, in this ranking, these three tie for second!
Note: Monoma’s updated stats in the second character book give him an A+ in both intelligence and technique, making him technically better than the other two. You could say that an A+ is worth a 5.5, and that would technically give Monoma a total of 11/10 and make him the most capable student in UA’s first year, but the book registered an A+ as a 5/5, so we won’t say that... ;)
•
Number 5: Minoru Mineta.
While this may come as a shock to some, Mineta actually ranks as 5th smartest in the school, with a 9/10! Honestly unsure how I feel about that.
•
Number 6: Yosetsu Awase, Kosei Tsuburaba, Katsuki Bakugou and Shouto Todoroki.
These four come in once again with a 9/10 to match the person above them, but I’ve put them one lower because once again I rank the intelligence stat more important than the technique stat.
Note: Tsuburaba’s stats in the character book actually give him an A+ for technique. Though it still registers as a 5/5, you could possibly say that it counts as a 5.5/5, putting him at 9.5/10 and a higher rank than the other three. But the book registers an A+ as just a 5/5, so we won’t... ;)
•
Number 8: Itsuka Kendou and Mei Hatsume.
This is where our support course sweetheart shines, ranking tied for eighth smartest student with the amazing class 1-B’s Itsuka Kendou, at 8/10! Living proof that just because they aren’t in the hero course, doesn’t mean that they aren’t incredible.
•
Number 10: Tsuyu Asui, Hitoshi Shinsou, Izuku Midoriya, Tooru Hagakure and Sen Kaibara.
These six are good little even stevens, all with perfect 8/10 scores. Pretty clever, if I do say so myself.
•
Number 16: Yui Kodai, Ibara Shiozaku and Ochako Ururaka.
This trio once again scores an 8/10, but the C level intelligence to A level technique puts them one spot below their B/B counterparts.
Number 19: Tenya Iida.
This good boy with a 7/10 may not be as close to the top of the rankings as we had all expected, but the fact that he still manages to be second in exams speaks volumes about his dedication!
•
Number 20: Mashirao Ojiro, Mezou Shouji, Hanta Sero and Fumikage Tokoyami.
These guys manage a respectable score of 7/10, but once again the B/C rank just isn’t as valuable as the C/B rank, and they sit at a four way tie for 20th place.
•
There we have the top 20 23 UA first year students, in order by academic and strategic capabilities! Honorable mentions fsince I still have one image slot left) go to:

Narnia Readalong #7: The Last Battle
I know it’s early, but it’s been a long time coming, y’all.
Favorite Quote: We get more Calormenes in this one, so I’m more than happy to revive “The Tisroc, may he live forever”! Have I mentioned how much I love that line? I especially love that Tirian says it to round out his ‘Calormene noble’ performance while in disguise.
Favorite Scene: Bit of an unusual pick, but I’d say the scene in Farewell to Shadowlands when Tirian meets his father again. It’s very brief, but it’s so sweet and heartfelt, and I just love it. (Remember how my favorite scene from the last one was Digory giving his mother the apple?)
Favorite Chapter: Absolutely chapters 11 and 12, where the final battle happens. It’s the whole ‘darkest hour is just before dawn’ thing that I love so much, and the fact that, from a certain perspective, you could almost say that the good guys lose (for 2 seconds).
Favorite Character: King Tirian! He’s my favorite character both from this book and from the series as a whole. I’ve loved him for over a decade, since I was a little girl listening to the Narnia audiobooks for the very first time, and he’s been my long-standing fictional crush every since. I adore him and I still don’t think enough people talk about him (all the conversations on TLB focus on Susan, and maybe Emeth).
Also, the headcanons of bi!Tirian became my first foray into ‘queering’ Narnia, long before I became aware of my own queerness.
Overall Rating: I won’t even lie. This one is my favorite of the series, and it stars my favorite character. It’s certainly the darkest and ‘most adult’ - I mean, how could it not be, it’s basically Narnia’s apocalypse! To say nothing of the constant thread of ‘futulity/all is for nothing’ that runs up til they all go through the Stable door. No problem giving this one a 9.5/10.
Random Other Comment: I was originally going to talk about the only two things in TLB that anyone seems to give a damn about - Susan and Emeth - but the section got so long that I decided to give it its own post. For this post, though, I think it may fall to me to ever-so-briefly mention . . . the ‘Darkies.’ Back in my HHB post I said that Lewis’s digestion of and commentary on ‘Eastern’ religions and cultures was loaded? Well, it’s even more loaded here. Now we have the Calormene head deity literally identified with Satan/Ultimate Evil. Yikes.
So . . . I know it technically runs til next month, but wow! What a ride this has been! Thanks, @lasaraleen, for having me involved in this read-along! Happy Resurrection Sunday to all my Christian friends, Passover for any Jewish readers, and for anybody else, just have a nice weekend!
Finis.

★ FILL IN THE QUESTIONS AS IF YOU ARE BEING INTERVIEWED FOR AN ARTICLE AND YOU WERE YOUR MUSE.
TAGGED BY: @penniesfortheferryman TAGGING: @rainbowiisms, @peeblcs, @mxgic-and-mxnsters, @doc-iplier and whoever else wants to do it!
1. WHAT IS YOUR NAME? “Dominic Elliott Grant.”
2. WHAT IS YOUR REAL NAME? “It’s still Dominic, as far as I know.”
3. DO YOU KNOW WHY YOU’RE CALLED THAT? “My mom always told me I was named after her dad. He was a war vet, but I never actually got to meet him, so I can’t confirm that his name was Dominic. I know my middle name came from my dad.”
4. ARE YOU SINGLE OR TAKEN? “That depends, I guess? If we’re just asking about this universe, or whatever Lucifer calls them... Well, alright, currently, I’m engaged to a lovely demon.”
5. WHAT ARE YOUR POWERS AND ABILITIES? “I can kill people with a glance. Haven’t had to do that in a long time though.”
6. WHAT COLOR ARE YOUR EYES? “Gold. If that’s even technically a color.”
7. HAVE YOU EVER DYED YOUR HAIR? “Yeah, I had blue hair, then orange hair, then turquoise, then black, and now I’m back to blue.”
8. DO YOU HAVE ANY FAMILY MEMBERS? “I have a brother, and my sister went missing a long time ago.”
9. DO YOU HAVE ANY PETS? “I have an Alaskan Malamute named Leo! He’s the best boy.”
10. TELL ME ABOUT SOMETHING YOU DON’T LIKE. “I don’t like arrogant people. Or overly-critical people. Or people who always play the victim even when they’re in the wrong.”
11. DO YOU HAVE ANY HOBBIES OR ACTIVITIES YOU DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME? “I love writing. I actually have a book in the works. But I’ve been working on that since I was 17, and I’m 28 now, so it’s probably not coming anytime soon.”
12. HAVE YOU EVER HURT ANYONE BEFORE? “I don’t think there’s a single person on the planet who hasn’t hurt someone else, whether intentionally or not.”
13. HAVE YOU EVER… KILLED ANYONE? “Unfortunately, I have to say yes. I will say that anyone I’ve ever killed had it coming. I had good reasons for it.”
14. WHAT KIND OF ANIMAL ARE YOU? “I’m a human, so I’m guessing this question is asking what my spirit animal or some shit it. I’d have to say a dog.”
15. NAME YOUR WORST HABITS. “I have a bad habit of telling white lies, even when they don’t matter. My dad never really gave me privacy when I was growing up, so I had to lie to do basically anything.”
16. DO YOU LOOK UP TO ANYONE? “Not really. Looking up to someone seems like idolatry, and I think that’s super unhealthy. There are people who inspire me to be better.”
17. GAY, STRAIGHT, OR BISEXUAL? “There’s absolutely more options than just those three. But I am bisexual.”
18. DO YOU GO TO SCHOOL? “I did go to school. I went to college, and graduated with a Master’s in secondary education.”
19. DO YOU EVER WANT TO MARRY AND HAVE KIDS SOMEDAY? “Yeah, of course. I wouldn’t be engaged if I didn’t want to get married. I’ve always wanted to have kids, so I can be a better dad than my own.”
20. DO YOU HAVE ANY FANS? “Uh... I don’t think so...?”
21. WHAT ARE YOU MOST AFRAID OF? “Being alone, I suppose. I don’t want to die alone.”
22. WHAT DO YOU USUALLY WEAR? “T-shirt, jeans, usually a leather jacket or a flannel, Converse... Well, I guess I wear a suit more often than not nowadays.”
23. DO YOU LOVE SOMEONE? “Of course.”
24. WHAT CLASS ARE YOU? “Like... Ranger, bard, warrior, that type of thing? Or like, economic class? I’m well off. I think I’d be a paladin.”
25. HOW MANY FRIENDS DO YOU HAVE? “Oh Jesus, like...... at least two. Probably.”
26. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON PIE? “That seems like a random question. I’d never say no to an offer of pie, though.”
27. FAVORITE DRINK? “Chocolate milk. No lie, I’m a full grown man and I will drink that cocoa moo all day”
29. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE? “It might sound strange, but I guess my favorite place is Hell. I feel comfortable there now.”
30. ARE YOU INTERESTED IN SOMEONE? “My fiancee, probably.”

35. TOP OR BOTTOM? DOMINANT OR SUBMISSIVE? “I’m absolutely a power bottom. I’m lazy, but I like being in control.”
36. CAMPING, OR INDOORS? “I love camping! Nature is pretty rad, if I do say so myself.”

What/if/it's/Us (not review exactly? SPOILERS AHEAD)
[9.5/10]
I haven't read a novel (i've been preoccupied with tons of novel-length ffn) in a while and I really enjoyed this on audiobook so I just thought I'd talk a bit about this.
I honestly thought this would be a hot mess - their relationship I mean. Like I could a lot of expectations and stuff that could have made them incompatible but when they got together they were just really really cute??? Like my heart!!! I actually went to check the end right before they got together bc I was scared of what kind of ending it would be and guess what? It wasn't really a Becky or Adam ending...IT WAS MORGAN MATSON HAHAHAAH
idk but like all the morgan matson books I've read ended in a way where I felt satisfied even tho it wasn't fully the happy ending you thought you'd get (tho the unexpected everything was really happy hehe)
Anyway....they were such a freaking cute couple and they really liked each other :( I'm really sad but the ending sounded really hopeful.
Me while reading tho tbh: THEY DON'T END UP TOGETHER AND I BLAME ADAM HAHAHAHAHAHAHA jk adam lmao but Adam's books always leave you feeling sad,,,,,,,
The book was hilarious though and I loved all the friendships and the family relationships and it was just a really great and fun read. I listened to the audiobook and I loved the narrators! They nailed it and a lot of times, I was just laughing and grinning out of nowhere bc of their drama or just bc I was squealing over everything.
And somehow, even though the events technically happened really fast, it didn't feel that way at all? Their chemistry was there and everything and I loved being part of their journey
Anyway, overall, great book BUT I couldn't fully 10/10 it just bc I had doubts in some of their decisions that made me...??? WHATCHA DOING BUDDY tho I get it. They were 16 and you don't make the smartest decisions at 16 (from my own exp hahahaha) also...the stalking on social media reminds me of my friends at that age so much oh my god. 11/10 accuracy much Becky?? Adam?? HAHAHAHAHAH.
Also, this is my fave book from both authors. I think they brought out each other’s strengths really well. The thing is, the last book I’ve read from either of them (They Both Die at the End and The Upside of Unrequited), I didn’t really like even though I liked both Simon vs the /Homo sapiens/ agenda and History is all You left Me (this one I sorta have mixed feelings about story-wise but I did like Adam’s writing style a lot) so I was kinda HMMM before I started but I’m glad I was able to read it after all.
ALSO ALSO I can’t believe there was one (1) Heathers reference at all uwu. I get the Hamilton obsession bc I like it a lot too but I just TT WE COULD BE SEVENTEEN THAT’S ALL WE’D HAVE TO DO I WANNA BE WITH YOU I WANNA BE WITH YOU TONIGHTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
okay.
I called the Only Us reference early in HAHAHHAHAHAH

Well we were on a sofa in my basement, I was cuddled up in his arms, and we had a Beatles album playing on my record player. The song was And I Love Her, and I honestly can’t remember exactly what he said (funny how things change because I said I would never forget) but it was something along the lines of “haha man this song is how I feel.” Which I kinda ignored cause I figured he didn’t mean that but he said he loved me, I looked at him and said “do you mean that?” And he said “if what I feel for you when I’m with you isn’t love, then I don’t know what is.” And it was that moment where I kinda hit me that I loved that boy all along. Let Me Hand You The Very Same Software I Use To Build Profitable Ecom Stores In Minutes With Only A Few Clicks of My Mouse! No Technical Skills Required and No Monthly Fee. Get Started Today and Have Your Very First Store Setup and Ready To Go ASAP!
Introduction
So you know the guy who named Jeff Bezos, and he’s got this company called Amazon. Perhaps you’ve heard of it? I’m just pulling your chain, of course. But what you probably don’t know is that Jeff Bezos has added an additional $34 billion to his net worth during the crisis.
Oh, and he’s the richest man in the world right now. So why do I say this to you? Because the current lockdown period has opened up a very special limited time opportunity for anyone to take part in the multi-billion dollar ecom pie. And this isn’t just Jeff Bezos. There are tons of day-to-day stores that are seeing some amazing growth and profits with their ecom businesses as well.
But I’m going to admit that getting through the lion’s den of the ecom can be a serious challenge. You have to try and find good suppliers, try to make a profit despite the fluctuating shipping charges, and then just the variables that most ecom store owners can’t see to automate.
Well, that’s until Storemerce became available today! With Storemerce, you’ll have the # 1 ecom store builder on your fingertips that will allow you to create profitable ecom stores in just a few minutes.
However, when you add to the fact that there’s some dynamic training and bonuses included with Storemerce that will hilariously put the odds of success in your favor, you absolutely can not wait to get your account today. Sounds good? Keep reading my full Stormerce review on this page.

And more than that, it has some really useful features that make it a complete solution in a box. Stormerce Review – The Features I Personally Like
[+] MULTI-USER COLLABORATION ACCESS LEVELS
If you’re like me, you ‘re likely enjoying a level of freedom in running your business. You still need to ensure, though, that the business produces profit while you’re away right?
For that is what this option is. You will be able to assign different levels of access for workers so that they can run the day-to-day process without sacrificing any profit.
[+] CONVERT YOUR STORE TO A MARKETPLACE FOR OTHER VENDORS
This, my friend, is one heck of a feature that is sure to distinguish Storemerce from everything else. You can allow other vendors to sell their products on your store by having your own marketplace while you get paid without selling the products on your own. It’s like having an Ecommerce AirBnB. Even though you don’t own any of the products, you get paid to create the network and channel of distribution. The same applies to many sites, such as Ebay , Amazon, JVZoo, Clickbank and others.
[+] LIGHTNING FAST CLOUD HOSTING FOR YOUR STORE
It will host your store on Amazon Cloud hosting at no extra charge. This is the same hosting that is used by Amazon so you know it’s ultra fast. This level of hosting will load your product pages in just a blink of an eye and be as secure as the Pentagon.
If Amazon uses this hosting to manage its multibillion dollar conglomerate, then you know that it will also work for your store.
[+] GEO-LOCATION CUSTOMIZATION
So what if you wish to have a store in a language other than English? No problem … No problem! Because of the internet the world is getting smaller, you can have your store in another language based on the region of customers. Perfect on a single order or audience never to miss out on.
[+] ADVANCED PROMOTIONAL RULES
You’ll also be able to boost your promotions within your Storemerce setup with rules. There are two types of rules which can be used in Stormerce to set up automated special offers: Cart Rules & Catalog Rules. The cart rule applies in the shopping cart to the product while the catalog rule applies to the product before it is put into the shopping cart. Having these advanced rules of promotion running with automation will surely boost your store revenue.
[+] EVERYTHING RUNS IN THE CLOUD
This is one of Storemerce’s Best stuff. You don’t need to have any fancy computer hardware or mess about frustrating installations. As long as you have an internet connection and a browser, you can use it with total freedom to build your store and drive revenues.
Stormerce Review – Reasons To Recommend This Product
Reason #1: You’ll Be In Position To Take Advantage Of The Ecom Boom
Just like rising trends in real estate, rising dot com industries and other trend opportunities, ecom is growing at leaps and boundaries. You’ll be able to position yourself perfectly in front of the ecom trend by having Storemerce, and ride the wave to big profits.
Reason #2: Everything Runs In The Cloud & Free Hosting
This is one of Storemerce’s Best stuff. You don’t need to have any fancy computer hardware or mess about frustrating installations. As long as you have an internet connection and a browser, you can use it with total freedom to build your store and drive revenues. Stormerce servers host all of you stores, too. That reduces the headache of paying your hosting monthly fees.
Reason #2: Everything You Need To Be Successful Is Included
Some people just hand you half full software. Others, theoretical training of what is working at might. Stormerce handing you a complete software solution and all of the knowledge about what the vendor used to generate seven figure money from eCom.

Stormerce User Reviews
Khara Kapas – by selling Indian boutique clothing, they now generate an average sales of 1500 items PER DAY.
Irwin Dominguez – started dropshipping items from his store and generated $1,000,000 in just 8 short months. His only regret? That he didn’t start sooner.
Leesa – a mattress company did $800,000 in its first month and went on to generate $30 million dollars later – all because he asked a few questions to an industry mattress veteran.
Watch Outfitter – started by a 17 year old, was making over $13,000 in monthly revenue by the end of its first year…due to the fact he had a passion for watches and jewelry
Nerdwax – selling all natural and organic beeswax, has generated $1,000,000 in sales to date…and that’s after REJECTING two offers from the famous tv show Shark Tank.
That’s just a few of the many stories of people who are killing it with eCom. And with Storemerce at your fingertips, now it’s your turn.
My Final Words
There are people who had Bitcoin just $1 each when it was. Others who were given the opportunity to buy Microsoft stock when it was cheap. Same with Yahoo and Google.
Those people today regret their decision not to take advantage of those opportunities when presented to them. And while they couldn’t have known any of the above would be ultra-successful, ecom isn’t the same.
You already know that ecom is profitable, and that the current pandemic has pushed even higher ecom profits. And because economies are heavily affected by the current crisis, that means only that online shopping will continue to grow.
So, take advantage of this crisis and Stormerce to take your business to the next level.
Conclusion
I’m absolutely certain that Storemerce can help you build a profitable store that will create life changing income for you like it’s done for others. That’s why I want you to take the next 30 days and use Storemerce to its fullest. See for yourself how easy it is to set up a store in minutes. Add unlimited products. And if after putting forth an honest effort, you don’t agree that Storemerce is everything I’ve said it is on this page, then I want you to ask for your money back. If the staffs can’t help right the wrong, then the vendor refund you every penny you invested in Storemerce and you can still part of our community.
Stormerce Bonuses
STORMERCE FAST ACTION BONUS #1 – ECOMMERCE COMMENT BOT & ENGAGER TOOL
This is the same tool used to make $3,718 in 72 hours by one of my beta users named Linda!
How did she do that, then? Well, she has a store from which she sells dresses. She uploaded a red and blue dress picture on the facebook page, and asked people to comment on what’s better. Red and Blue. She activated the app on the post (1 minute work) and added with auto reply and bam the ‘keywords – red and green!’ The post went viral, and $3,718 in sales over a $150 facebook ad spent 72 hours later.
And using this tool as a virtual assistant to manage your Fanpage replies, you can also employ the same strategies. You can set up an automated response (public and private), based on certain keywords and phrases, for everyone who comments on your facebook post. This will enable you to tap into significant lead generation and sales by engaging your audience in this innovative manner. You will be able to create posts, ask questions to which only a limited number of answers can be given, and then add those answers as keywords.
For those who leave comments on your posts and drive them to your offers or store, you will also be able to broadcast a message. This alone can turn your Facebook post into a sucking traffic ad without having to pay a single penny for it.
This bonus would normally be upsold at an additional $97 a month, but to make sure you have the best possible chance to succeed with Storemerce, I’m adding it to your account at no extra charge today.
STORMERCE FAST ACTION BONUS #2 – ECOMMERCE MESSENGER BOT BUILDER
With this tool , you can easily build an FB Messenger interactive ecom bot for marketing , sales, and support … without any coding or skill design. In fact, Oliver saw 440 per cent boost in sales after activating this tool in his store
With this tool you will be able to create unlimited bots and automation with automatic conversation flows for unlimited products on your store. These flows can be used to deliver value, drive traffic, convert contacts to leads and make sales. You will also be able to boost engagement on your website, respond and assist visitors (without even being in-person there) and consistently turn cold prospects into recurring paying clients.
This is a perfect way to exploit the 2 billion messages sent back and forth every month between end users and businesses. This is an enormous opportunity to move consumers through your sales funnel and boost their sales in ecommerce.
STORMERCE FAST ACTION BONUS #3 – MESSENGER BULK BROADCAST TOOL
With this tool, you can send unlimited broadcasts in minutes from a single easy-to-use dashboard to subscribers across your pages, and multiple Facebook accounts. It is the same tool used by Alex to generate 71 Ecom Sales (In 29 Hours From a single broadcast)
By combining this with the above bonus # 1, you’ll be able to drive more revenue from your store. Plus I’ll also include a broadcast messenger template you can use to send to your bot subscribers. That way you ‘re not going to have to figure out what to write or say. Just make some edits, and send them to press.
You won’t have to learn the best of all from a single line of code. Simply select a subset of people who have messaged you and hit them with a text blast, a picture, a call to action, and redirect them to your ecom store or a particular product on your store.
By having an average open rate of 85 percent or higher with messenger bots and up to 10X higher clicking through rates than email, you ‘re sure to increase engagement and profits by using this bonus in your marketing
STORMERCE FAST ACTION BONUS #4 – ECOMMERCE GRAPHICS & ADS DESIGNER
With this tool, in just minutes … with Zero Technical Or Design Skills, you can pump out jaw-dropping & high converting designs. Social media ads, posts on social media, covers on Timeline, Viral Quotes, Memes … and much more. It is the very same tool Josh used in minutes to design all of his ecom banners and ads. This allowed him to fire his graphics designer and save $400 in monthly, freelancing bills, equivalent to $4,800 in savings per year. He will be putting extra money into other aspects of his ecom business. You’ll get 1,423 premium design templates, 7.5 million stock design assets, 450,000 Viral quotes and a lot more by getting Storemerece today and having this as an added bonus.
STORMERCE FAST ACTION BONUS #5 – ECOM SOCIAL POST EDITOR
With this tool, you can now add BOLD Text, Italicized, Underlined & More on FB and other social media platforms and highlight your posts, comments, and ads and capture the attention of people resulting in a huge boost in post engagement, leads , and sales.
STORMERCE FAST ACTION BONUS #6 – INSIDER ECOMMERCE ACCELERATOR
This is a comprehensive course that will take you through the whole process of starting and scaling your ecommerce business, without all the stress. It doesn’t matter if you’re a complete beginner, or you’ve tried and failed ecom in the past. This training covers EVERYTHING that you need to use Storemerce and ALL of the bonuses / resources that we give you. Here, there is no stone left unturned. Once you have completed this training, you will be ready to in no time drive revenue with your store.
STORMERCE FAST ACTION BONUS #7 – TRAFFIC TRAINING MASTERY COURSE
In this training, I pull back the curtain and show you how to use cheap, underrated and vastly untapped methods to send instant traffic into your product listings. These include the BING SHOPPING & Google Shopping platforms. Once you’ve found a few winning products, you’ll see how this cheap SUPER traffic can be used and turned into HIGH-CONVERTING BUYERS who rave about your products.
STORMERCE FAST ACTION BONUS #8 – THE 7 FIGURE NMYC ECOM STRATEGY
You will discover in this training the simplest method yet to profit from selling physical products online without ever buying inventory or touching the products. And it’s 100% Automated

In this report I will share the exact same strategy and system that I used to generate $1 million in ecommerce sales in less than seven months. You ‘re going to see for yourself how you can clone that and start to get results from day 1. To be honest, it’s like there’s a fail proof ecom strategy. And It’s as simple as following this formula: S + F + U = $$$.

Isolated abroad during coronavirus outbreak, how some Indian students are dealing with the crisis
With universities across the globe shut down because of the coronavirus outbreak, a large number of Indian students continue to live away from family at a time they need an emotional anchor the most.
On 12 April, Indian National Congress spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill questioned the Centre why Indian students stranded abroad are not being evacuated, while the government is in "active mode" to help foreign nationals stuck in India. "The BJP (Bhartiya Janata Party) government is in 'active mode' for foreign nationals and is in 'sleep mode' for Indian students stranded abroad in this hour of global crisis," Shergill said in a statement.
Away but not 'stranded'
But a lot of the Indian students still in their dorms, private accommodations or at a relative's place, away from their immediate families, claim they are not feeling 'stranded' or 'stuck.' Some of them claim they are used to living by themselves for they left their parents' shelter years ago.
Certainly, during a global crisis like this, they admit they feel the need to be in constant touch with their parents but technology has bridged the gap. Apps like Facetime and WhatsApp video calling have allowed them and their parents to combat emotional distancing.
If given a choice, would they have taken the plunge and returned to India rather than stay away from family? Many were not in favour of doing so, at least under the circumstances they were in when they had a choice.
"I think it's much safer for everyone, including me, to stay put where they are. Going back would've put the safety of my parents, as well as (that of) potentially society, at risk, and definitely mine too. Moreover, I'm not facing any problems here so I don't see any reason for me to go back. It's just a matter of coping with living alone, and I think that's a small challenge compared to the risk I'll be putting everyone at if I went back," says Mayank Sehgal, currently pursuing MBA from HEC Paris.
Aditya Tank, who studies at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in the United States, reasons that even if he braved the risk of infected airplanes and airports, it was too late for him to escape the state quarantine. "By the time I could travel, it was already 16 March, when India had made 14-day state quarantine compulsory for anyone coming from the US. So even after going through all the hassle, I'd have to spend two weeks away from family. My parents were obviously worried but they got my decision when I explained the above point to them. So as of now, we're looking forward to the time when there are no restrictions, and I can come back without having to stay in the state quarantine."
Another hurdle that is stopping the students abroad to return to their parents' comfort is the time difference between both the countries. Since a majority of the colleges across the globe have converted the classes online (through Zoom or similar conference video calling app), they will have to wake up at odd hours in order to 'attend' the classes. "My classes and assignments are still going on so I didn't want to go back to India only to operate on a 9.5-hour time difference. It didn't make sense," says Varun Natu, currently in Pittsburgh, who believes he would barely get the time to spend quality time with parents in that case.
State intervention
Besides these technical and logical reasons, many also have the administration, either the government or the college, to blame for not acting well within time. "You know how lax the US has been about their response to the pandemic. When my parents had asked me to fly back, at that point, my university had declared the online class setting till only 6 April," says Aditya Tank. Even after the change was made subsequently to extend the online classes till the end of the semester, it was already too late to travel.
Pranati Sharma, pursuing MBA in Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, recalls the college administration initially took drastic steps to curb the spread of coronavirus, which resulted in complete chaos among the students. "We got a mail from college on the night of 15 March, giving us three days to vacate all the student accommodations under Trinity, even the private ones. However, the college sent a clarification mail a day later, allowing students to stay. This created a lot of chaos, and 90 percent of the people, including Indians, booked flights on 15 March itself for the very next day to return to India."
While Pranati chose not to travel even after the college's rather knee-jerk approach, Amishi Agrawal, studying at the University of Tokyo in Japan, has a different story to tell. "We haven't had a lockdown yet. A state of emergency was declared a few days ago but there are no rules in place. Most places are open, and you can go out if you want to. The greater challenge here is to ensure you're safe since the government isn't doing much on that front, and also the linguistic barrier. For now, we're just reading up more, and pushing for stricter rules within our dormitories."
ALSO READ: Under lockdown in Europe, Indian students go online to protest inequalities back home, keep up with academics
She explains how the lack of awareness by the state can make the pandemic even worse, if not for the information coming in from other countries. "I thought at the start that Japan was handling it very well. It turned out that was a lie as Japan was trying to conceal information because they wanted to host the Olympics (which was later pushed tentatively to 2021). Had I known the situation in Japan was so grave, I'd have definitely gone back to India then."
Even Sweden seems to be not taking the crisis as seriously despite rising cases in the country. Sarthak Prakash, currently pursuing a Master's degree in Biomedical Technology from Chalmers University in Gothenburg, Sweden, says the lockdown is not as stringent as the one in India despite similar graphs in coronavirus infections in both the countries. "There are no restrictions at all. All the pubs and restaurants are open. The only change I'm facing is online classes and virtual group meetings. People are advised to maintain social distancing. The population of Sweden is about 10 million, and they have 10,000 cases now (by the time his input was taken). It's mostly concentrated in Stockholm so the rest of the economy is open. They (government) fear bad repercussions if the restrictions are imposed for an extended time."
Mayank, however, is grateful to the French government for its transparency in dealing with the crisis. "They're communicating with us very clearly what's happening and what's going to happen (as far as they know). The confinement has been extended till 11 May, after which things will gradually open up again. Even alcohol and cigarettes are available. We're allowed to go for a walk within 1 km radius of our residence."
Daily chores, increasing constraints
Besides the occasional long queues outside grocery stores in Paris and ordering grocery for a week in advance in Pittsburgh, regular supplies has not been the primary issue for most of the students abroad. But Taruna Venkat, currently pursuing a Master's in Science Degree (Tropical Biology and Conservation) from James Cook University in Townsville, Australia, says constant delay in the lifting of lockdown will only worsen the situation for students monetarily. "I'm concerned about stretching out my savings, and avoiding asking family for money given they also require to save up. I'm also concerned about them, since they're aged and live in Mumbai, which is rapidly becoming a hotspot of the coronavirus spread."
Tasheev Bagga, enrolled in a Master's course in Fashion and Entrepreneurship at RMIT University in Melborune, Australia, still gets chills thinking about the day he realised the graveness of the epidemic. "I remember I went to a supermarket to get grocery but there was absolutely nothing there because of panic buying. All the racks you think will never be seen empty were like that. It's the basic requirement, and it wasn't available. That hit me hard when I went back home. Things are much better now."
Apart from the daily chores of cooking, clean, and buying grocery, what is keeping all the students busy are the online classes by the university and work from home for any internship or training they were employed in beside the college. Naman Jain, working as a Master's student at Max Planck Institute of Nuclear Physics in Heidelberg, Germany, explains why despite the lockdown period being "an introvert-heaven," the lack of interpersonal contact is getting to his nerves now. "Research groups are incredibly important for reasons more than just academic discussions. It's getting limited because of the 'indirect-ness' over mails or video calls. The productivity isn't as much if one doesn't discuss or collaborate," he says.
He adds he did not contemplate going back since he had only two months of training left after working there for over nine months. "My parents have spent most of the time mulling I should've come back when I could. But I get their concern. They don't know it's safe around here, groceries and medical help are easily available, people are cooperative, and there aren't as less number of people on the streets as I'd expected."
Life-altering events stand altered
It is certainly not easy to withdraw when one is so close to the finishing line. Both Purushartha Singh (BSc in Computer Science from Pennsylvania State University) and Aditya Tank were days away from their respective convocation ceremonies. "My parents were scheduled to come here from India, and then we had a little tour planned. But obviously now, all that has gone for a toss. After online classes, home assignments, and online exams, the university is even planning an online convocation," says Purushartha.
As strange as online convocation sounds, Aditya is hopeful his university will have a flesh-and-blood ceremony whenever the situation is completely normal. "But my visa is expiring soon so I'm planning to go back to India at the end of May, hopefully."
Representational image. Reuters
As some are busy getting to the end, others starting their journey have their own issues to deal with. Arunima Gitai, studying Counselling and Psychotherapy at Edith Cowan University in Perth, Australia, details her struggles to find accommodation. "I landed in Perth on 29 February, and the lockdown started here in the first week of March. Everyone was already on the edge about the virus. Most of the people were wary to give rented accommodation to people, especially who had arrived in the country recently. Everyone whom I spoke to would ask me when I landed, ask me to show my travel documents, ask if I got tested, or if I had a connecting flight from China."
She adds a "sweet man" empathised with her situation and asked him to move into a rented accommodation immediately. But she confesses she had a terrible time putting up at a temporary accommodation for a week. "It was very hostile to live among aggressive people who would ask me, sometimes even in every couple of hours, when I'd move out, or who told me I should go back to India. The epidemic was bringing out the worst in people. Humans are mean, aggressive, and self-preserving by nature, and the circumstances just happen to bring that out more openly."
Logistical issues like these only tend to add to the mental and emotional toll a young person goes through, particularly in the absence of a familiar environment. But all students across the globe that this writer talked to were on the same page of not returning to India especially because of the risks in travel involved. They would end up making their 'new home' more inhabitable, and are determined to get through with the crutch of technology, creative pursuits, and by just observing nature heal itself.
Naman's hopeful words give many like him hope that the spring is not far behind. "Nature was incredibly beautiful since I came here. Nothing has changed (on that front). It's just that spring has come around, so it's more pretty out here, but nothing else."

Sure, video is getting more popular online. Might explain why there’s a new “can’t live without it” video software released every other day. And while many marketers use video … many MORE (like, ALL of them) use images & graphics. Pictures are THE way to grab attention, drive traffic & get more clicks. They’re also way easier, faster & easier to create than video.
Images are essential for social media posts – driving up to 94% MORE views than posts without graphics. Pictures are used in every business application: from web design & content, branding, product covers and everything in between.
Sadly, current graphics options for marketers are very limited. Fancy softwares are expensive, complicated and time-consuming. Free softwares rarely have enough features for your needs. Royalty-free image sites can cost you $300 per month or more. Graphic design artists don’t come cheap and you’ll wait for results.
Facing this problem, 2 highly successful online professionals decided it was time to create a REAL graphics solution for marketers of all levels. Let’s check out my Designa Review below for more details!
DESIGNA REVIEW – WHAT IS IT?
In a nutshell, Designa is a cloud based DIY design software by marketers for marketers. It is built for pumping out jaw-dropping & high converting designs – facebook ads, social media covers, post, ecovers, business cards, mockups, pdf books, and many more in just minutes even if you have zero technical or design skills. It comes loaded with 3000+ ready-made design templates and over 3 million stock images, fonts and other graphic assets.
You’ll never need to hire an expensive designer again. Forget paying ridiculous monthly fees for complex software or royalty-free image sites. This platform is packed full of over 7.5 million images & graphic assets. 3000+ top-converting templates. And is so drag & drop simple… if you can click your mouse, you can create custom images in minutes.
Drive more traffic. Get more clicks. Make more sales. With your own unique designs that come to life on the screen. Trusted by the most demanding marketers online. Powerful, fast & robust cloud-based platform. Nothing to install, step-by-step training included.

You do NOT need to use Facebook or Amazon
You do NOT need to buy any inventory upfront
You do NOT need to do any market research

In this report I will share the exact same strategy and system that I used to generate $1 million in ecommerce sales in less than seven months. You ‘re going to see for yourself how you can clone that and start to get results from day 1. To be honest, it’s like there’s a fail proof ecom strategy. And It’s as simple as following this formula: S + F + U = $$$.

1995 SN95 Cobra and Project Car Life: Never.Give.Up.
Life has a way of sapping the once-unrelenting passion gearheads have for our project cars. One day we wake up and realize that weeks have become years and the small setback we intended to fix the following weekend silently sidelined the build for several seasons.
Thankfully, despite all odds, the tale of this 1995 Cobra doesn’t end how you might think. Mel Josafat not only managed to keep his beloved Cobra through the ups and downs of life, but he eventually built the car of his dreams thanks to levels of dedication seldom seen. Each month he stashed $50-$100 into his dream car fund, and 15 years later he built the Cobra before you. How’s that for dedication?
Most people’s project-car story goes a little like this. When we are young and don’t have two nickels to rub together, we sink every last penny into our cars, even if it means eating cheaply until the next meager paycheck. But with age comes more money and more responsibility. There it is, the wretched R-word. Responsibility has a knack of diverting time and money into anything but a project car, no matter how special it might be.
Most would not know that a corner-killing suspension and chassis combo lurks under this clean Cobra thanks to a Max Grip Box from Maximum Motorsports.
The disconnect happens sometime between the days when we spent countless hours daydreaming beneath that poster of our dream car as a kid and the time when we assumed all those adult responsibilities. We eventually abandon our dream builds after realizing the two nickels we finally can rub together are already spent on responsibilities long before they land in the checking account.
But as we mentioned, this is not a story of shattered project car dreams or failure. Instead, this is a tale of steadfast dedication and sweet, sweet victory. To those wavering with their projects, let this be motivation to remain strong!
The slammed stance, negative front camber only looks better when you notice the Saleen front bumper and T1 rear wing atop the GT rear hood—simple, clean, and mean.
Josafat says, “When the SN95 Cobras first hit showrooms while I was in college I immediately fell in love with the sleek bodylines and the proven pushrod motor. I knew I’d do whatever it took to get one after graduation.”
True to his word, in 1996, after landing his first real job outside college, he went looking for his own Cobra. “After realizing that the then-new ’97 Cobras were out of my price range, I went looking for a used ’94/’95 Cobra with low mileage.”
Simple bolt-ons are all it takes to have fun on a road course. Thanks to a BBK CAI and shorty headers, a Bassani X-pipe, and Flowmaster mufflers, this Cobra has plenty of poke on the straights.
It took several weeks, but eventually he found a pristine, low-mileage, one-owner 1995 Cobra. It was love at first sight. “It was pristine, white, and owned by an older lady who only put 6,000 miles on it.”
Thankfully, he had a small pile of money saved up. He immediately add H&R springs and Flowmaster two-chamber mufflers to make it his own. He says, “It’s all I could afford at the time, but the mufflers and springs gave it my own style—I was just happy to finally own a Cobra.”
He daydreamed of building his Cobra into a drag car, then a show car, and eventually into a road-racer after seeing the Saleen SR in 1997. “I still vividly remember seeing the SR for the first time. My jaw dropped. It was so clean and so aggressive with the chameleon paint, the five-spoke wheels, and that wing and front bumper. It was perfect.”
With the image of the Saleen SR indelibly burned into his mind, Josafat decided that his dream build was, in fact, a road-race ready SN95 Cobra with five-spoke wheels, a Saleen front bumper and wing, and full Maximum Motorsports suspension. The only problem was, he was broke. But that didn’t matter in his case because in the absence of money he had diehard commitment.
“I have never had deep pockets, but thankfully I was able to add a few mods in the first year before I could not afford to do anything for over a decade,” he explains.
Few rollers look better on an SN95 than these 18×9.5 front and 18×11 rear Simmons FRs wrapped in Sumitomo rubber and hiding a Brembo front big brake kit with two-piece rotors.
He diligently saved money every month, and in the first year he managed to have a custom set of 18-inch Simmons five-spoke, three-piece wheels imported into the U.S. via Group-A Autotrend. If you ask us, there’s no better wheel for his combo. Perfection!
“I never lost sight of my dream,” says Josafat, “but the responsibilities [There’s that R-word again! —Ed.] of life and the expense of the parts I wanted meant I would not add many parts for over 15 years.”
While he would not mod his beloved Cobra for a long time, in the ensuing 15 years his Cobra served him well as a daily driver for over 140,000 miles and through several moves, all without garages, and it continued to mature with him through a marriage and the birth of his sons.
“For years I daily drove the car and it sat outside, but I always took care of it, keeping it clean and covered every night,” Josafat says. “There were some months it was really hard to put that money in the bank, when times were rough and I sold a lot of things to stay afloat. The thought of selling the car entered my mind, but only for a minute. Thankfully, my wife was always supportive of the car.”
And so month after month, Josafat added small amounts of money to a savings account that slowly grew as the years and miles wore on. “I had my eye on a Maximum Motorsports Max Grip Box for years, and after I got married in 2010 my wife told me that I’d better finish the car before the kids came. Thankfully, she helped me fulfill my goals for the car.”
With the support of his wife and his monthly contribution of no more than $100, he depleted his savings account and threw the books at it with a complete makeover thanks to a Maximum Motorsports Max Grip Box installed by Matt Medeiros of Performance Technic. As you know, a Max Grip Box will turn any Mustang into a complete corner killer thanks to an entire suspension overhaul with a tubular K-member and A-arms, coilovers, caster-camber plates, a torque arm, a Panhard bar, lower control arms, an upgraded steering shaft, chassis bracing, and much more.
Josafat says, “The Max Grip Box was a complete game changer. It literally took the car from fun to absolutely insane in the canyons and on track.”
The newfound grip and handling prowess drove him to attend several track days, where the car was much better than he was. “I spun out several times at Thunder Hill during my first track day. The car was great, but I needed some work.”
It had taken him nearly two decades to get the car to this point, but with the greenlight before his children were born, he spent the next six months hitting it with serious upgrades.
“Since I was bitten by the track bug, I decided to add some safety, braking, and chassis and engine upgrades to finish it off,” Josafat tells us. The safety upgrades came in the form of a Maximum Motorsports roll bar, a Cobra driver’s seat with RCI harnesses, and a Sparco steering wheel with an NRG quick-release hub.
When he wanted more speed on the straights, he added a BBK Performance CAI and shorty headers, along with a Bassani X-pipe. Energy Suspension engine mounts keep the motor secured, while a Fluidyne radiator keeps it cool. Ford Performance 3.73 gears also help performance, and a Torsen differential with a T/A girdle and Moser 31-spline axles help put the power down.
Speaking of traction, a performance alignment from Roger Kraus Racing with more negative camber and max caster, along with Maximum Motorsports full-length subframe connectors, added to the Cobra’s handling prowess. Of course, we cannot forget the Brembo big brake kit with two-piece front rotors.
While the OG Simmons wheels make us drool, they would not be anything without the rest of the package, completed thanks to a Saleen front bumper and T1 wing mounted atop a GT trunk lid, which was actually sourced from a local Pick n’ Pull.
We often talk about a cohesiveness that makes certain cars stand out, and truthfully, it’s hard to define it because there is no one path to greatness. For Josafat, his road to Mustang greatness wasn’t lined with deep pockets and a mile-long mod list. Instead, while his car’s cohesiveness is striking, what’s most compelling is the blood, sweat, and tears this car oozes—it doesn’t take long to see this car has heart. Every mile it has rolled, ever nick or blemish it has amassed, is another story to tell and another memory to recall.
“I love this car,” says Josafat, as if there could be any doubt. “It’s been around forever, and it’s part of so many stories. It’s like a tattoo, I remember every story and moment with it—the sacrifice and determination it took to keep it all these years taught me a lot about sticking to something.”

The Best Travel Rewards Credit Cards for Each Bonus Category
Despite all of the advanced techniques for generating travel rewards, people are still surprised to hear that daily spending on credit cards is the most reliable way to earn points and miles. The key is to use cards that earn the most rewards for each particular spending category.
In today’s post, I want to look at the the best card for each of the major spending categories. First, here’s a summary. And then you’ll find additional details below:
In This Post
Dining — Chase Sapphire Reserve
Return: 3 Ultimate Rewards points per dollar on all travel and dining. Points are worth 2.1 cents apiece according to TPG’s latest monthly valuations, so you’re getting a return of 6.3% when you eat out.
Current Bonus: 50,000 points when you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first three months. However, higher offers may be available in-branch.
Benefits: This card made a huge splash when it was released last year. Since it earns you 3x points at restaurants (and on travel), it’s an unbeatable option for dining out. The Ultimate Rewards program offers you the ability to transfer points to 11 travel partners, including British Airways, Hyatt, Marriott, Southwest and United. And Sapphire Reserve cardholders can receive 1.5 cents per point when they redeem for travel through the Chase Ultimate Rewards travel center, which opens up several interesting possibilities. The card also offers a Priority Pass Select airport lounge membership and a $300 annual travel statement credit, and it waives foreign transaction fees.
Annual Fee: $450

In addition to earning 3x points on hotel stays, the Citi Prestige can save you thousands at expensive hotels through its 4th Night Free benefit. Image courtesy of Amanpulo.
Hotels — Citi Prestige Card
Return: This card offers 3x ThankYou points on hotels and air travel. According to TPG’s valuations, these points are worth 1.6 cents each, which equates to a 4.8% return for your hotel spending. But beyond points, you can receive your fourth night free when you use Citi’s travel agency to book four consecutive nights at a participating hotel. Though Citi recently tweaked the way this benefit is calculated, the amount you can save is uncapped — so you can easily get thousands of dollars in value from this perk alone.
Current Bonus: 40,000 bonus points after new cardholders spend $4,000 on new purchases within three months of account opening. Note that you may be eligible to receive 50,000 points after $5,000 in spending in the first three months if you use this link.
Benefits: You can transfer points to 12 airline programs as well as Hilton and Sears. Beyond that and the 4th Night Free benefit, perks include a Priority Pass Select lounge membership and a $250 annual air travel credit. This card doesn’t charge foreign transaction fees.
Annual Fee: $450

These points are worth 1.9 cents each, giving you rewards worth 9.5% of your purchase.
