So we’re watching Bad Monkey, which is a lot of fun. And a great showcase for Vince Vaughn.

And it reminded me that back when we were doing Welcome To Sanditon, YouTube was running a cross-promotion with Vaughn’s soon-to-be-released movie “The Internship.” They asked a bunch of web series to pitch how he might make an appearance on their show.

So, I wrote a short scene. Of Vince Vaughn talking to Mayor Parker over Domino. Talking about how much he loved Sanditon, all the amazing things he saw in town, and was looking forward to the premiere of The Internship at the Sanditon Cinematheque.

They said thanks, no thanks. I don’t think they quite expected a show like ours.

I wonder if I still have that script somewhere.

If you’re submitting propaganda for your hot man, I don’t accept propaganda that is of the actor outside of their Specific Jane Austen Adaptation but I do accept propaganda from them in their respective books. I would love to be tagged in gifsets and fancams, and I'd like to boost propaganda that tells us why your Jane Austen man is your favourite :)

I won’t post or boost negative propaganda. If you really hate that a certain hot man is winning, send me positive propaganda for their hot opponent. I may make exceptions if your propaganda is of another Austen character bad mouthing him though...

Why is the propaganda so uneven on this poll? To stay impartial I only add propaganda to the main poll that has been sent in before each round's polls open. If you submit any after then I will reblog or post and add to the winner's propaganda in the next poll. If it's uneven it's because you never sent any in, not because I'm being biased.

“Who was included in the original tournament ?” We started with 64 opponents readied their duelling pistols to defend their own hotness! I included men from Pride and Prejudice 1940/1995/2005, Sense and Sensibility 1971/1995/2008, Emma 1996/1996/2009/2020, Northanger Abbey 2007, Persuasion 1995/2007/2022 and Mansfield Park 1983/ 1999/2007 as well as a couple from Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, one from Sanditon and one from Love and Friendship/Lady Susan. Most are the main hero/anti-heroes but there are a few others scattered in too.

Have you included Spin Offs ?”  In the Silver Foxes Poll - Yes! However the only strictly none Jane Austen adaptation in the original poll were from Pride and Prejudice and Zombies because it is set in the correct time period, the characters are basically the same in terms of personality and I thought the casting was great! In terms of Sandition, Sidney Parker is the only man I have entered as he is mentioned in the book as well as the TV so sadly as much as I love the other Sanditon Men they aren't included!

"How have you paired up the men ?" I did start to try and vaguely seed the men but I will be honest I did get a bit slap dash towards the end which means a couple of the match-ups are maybe a bit too even but fun I hope!

If I see repetitive, trolling, and/or bigoted remarks in the comments, I may block you from this bracket. If you want to point out a hot man’s flaws or misdemeanours, that’s fine, but if I see consistent bad-faith trolling, you will be blocked.

The Tilney Family Album: Volume XXI

We're going to drop in with the Tilneys of Sanditon today, where there have been a lot of birthdays recently.

For a Shy Loner, Felix has a surprising number of friends. And just like all his family, he loves to dance - his chum Octavius is more than happy to join in too.

He's happy to strut his stuff at home, and amongst friends, but he draws the line at making an exhibition of himself on-stage.

The first birthday of the week is little sister Dinah's. I think she's completely adorable.

Even as a mum of four - with one of them only a toddler - Georgiana still manages to carve out some time for herself, getting stuck into her garden, which has been rather neglected over the winter.

It's not long before we have a second teen in the family, with Dora taking a break from her lunchtime sandwich to age up.

hey,

i requested the recent obi-wan one-shot u wrote and i absoluetly loved it.. but since I didnt watch sanditon I wanted to ask if u would write a 2nd part (or reworte it -thats up to u). I just love the dynamics of couples that love each other just as much as they did at the beginnig of their relationship when they have been married for 10 years and I‘d love to have a Moder!Obi experience that.

First Glance

The morning sky welcomed you gently just as it had done ten years ago. Time was a silly little spindle that kept spinning, allowing you to weave a fabric of reality that was filled with a love that kept you warm. The weather was cold, heading towards winter, all the leaves had fallen, the pavements ran wet with sprinkled rain and everything felt crisp although it wasn't spring. Maybe that was just his presence that was a constant, making you forget the changes in the season because no matter what happened on the outside, he still remained the same.

As he held your hand now, walking down the garden trail by the local park. He wore his woolen coat and you wore your puffer jacket. The yellow taxis drove past as the leaves held a distinct crunch beneath your boot. You have walked the same trail the past decade that it began to feel sacred now, that as you passed by certain places, it held milestones for your relationship.

His soft laugh broke you away from your thoughts to look at him as his eyes sparkled with the same love he held back then.

"I saw you for the first time by that green gate.", he said pointing towards a garden gate that was now worn down with ivy grown over it.

"You were running late for your class at university.", you reminisce along with him. He pulled you in closer to kiss your forehead.

"And you were heartbroken.", he said.

It was true. It all seemed bleak then, that you were convinced you would never love again but looking back now, that was when your paths were meant to cross. But he went on to attend his class while you sat there mending your heart. It was the start, the first glance.

You continued down the path to walk past a fountain. It still sat there happily spouting water over giggling children and young lovers tossing in their coins. This was where you found him again, a year after that moment by the gate. The night sky had turned magical with faint stars, he sat alone tossing in a coin as he pursed his lips thinking of a wish.

You were there to do the same. But even before you could toss in your coin, his eyes found yours and there was that spark again, that tug in your heart, you didn't need a coin for wishes. He was right there in front of you.

You rested your head on his shoulder. "I was wishing for love.", he said quietly, to which you hum.

"And I was searching for you.", you look up to him but as usual he leaned in to kiss you. Nothing felt different and you loved the comfort of stillness. That though the world rotted around you, this feeling never withered.

The final point in this pilgrimage was the gazebo, no one used it anymore but it held that magic as it sat by the pond. The floorboards creaked under your weight when he spun you out of his embrace, your mouth filled with laughter once again that over these years you had forgotten what sadness tasted like. You couldn't care for it either, this joy was all that you needed.

The birds chirped and the trees swayed as he led you into a slow dance.

"This will always be my favorite spot.", he whispered and it brought forth a smile on your lips.

"Why?", you asked having heard the answer a million times.

"Here, I had found my person.", he looked at the weathered structure but his smile still remained entranced as when he had asked you to marry him right in the spot you stood now.

"Obiwan.", you said softly, as you looped your hand behind his neck.

It always made you emotional, whenever he said it, that you were his. Because long ago you believed you were no one's.

So you pull him closer by the lapels of his coat, his cheeks turning red as always, somewhere between where your lips found his or his hands held your waist he said he loved you making the world fall away.

Time can continue to spin, you'll be here, in his arms, spinning along in this little music box of yours.

Help In The Kitchen (Arthur Parker x OC)

Summary: When Arthur pays a visit to the bakery, Della shows Arthur the ropes of how to bake bread.

Word Count: 588

Warnings: Pure fluff

In the quaint bakery only recently opened in Sanditon, the aroma of freshly baked bread wafted through the air, pulling Arthur in from his stroll. In the back of the small shop, Della Mondale, a particularly spirited young woman, had found herself kneading dough, face marred with streaks of flour, yet she greeted Arthur with a chipper, "Hello".

"Good day, Miss Mondale."

"It is a good day, isn’t it Mr, Parker," Della exclaimed with a twinkle in her eyes. "It would only be made better if I didn’t find myself short handed. Father's gone off for more supplies, says he couldn’t wait for the delivery man to get here. I’ve got half a dozen loaves left to bake, and only two hands to do it. You any good at baking bread, by chance?"

Arthur, ever the reserved gentleman, raised an eyebrow but couldn't deny the infectious enthusiasm emanating from Della. "Bread, you say?"

With a nod and a flourish, Della unveiled a well worn recipe book. "Pretty simple, really. Flour, water, yeast, and a bit of patience, that's all we need."

Arthur had his apprehensions about assisting, as he was entirely inexperienced in the matter, but the smell of the fresh bread was enough to convince him to give it a go. With Miss Lambe occupied for the day, he had little else to occupy his time.

The kitchen soon became a canvas for their culinary arts. Della measured flour with precision while Arthur hesitantly poured water into the mixing bowl as instructed. As the two worked side by side, a camaraderie blossomed between them and Arthur began to feel a little more at ease with the whole thing.

"Kneading is an art," Della declared, as she caught a glimpse of Arthur's eyes fixated on the rhythmic movements of her hands. "You want to feel the dough beneath your fingers, and coax it into doing what you require. Here, let me show you."

Arthur, initially reserved, found himself swept up in the joy of the process as Della handed off the partially kneaded dough to him. She guided his hands, swirling the dough around with some vigor until he had gotten the hang of it. The tension in his shoulders eased, and a smile tugged at the corners of his lips. Together, they shaped the dough into loaves, their laughter reverberating around the warm kitchen.

As the loaves baked in the oven, the scent of the rising bread enveloped the room. Della leaned against the kitchen counter, eyes brimming with satisfaction. "Job well done, I’d say. It certainly went quicker with your help. Thank you."

Arthur, his gaze fixed on the golden loaves in the oven, nodded thoughtfully. "Oh, you’re quite welcome, Miss Mondale. I never imagined baking could be so...enlightening."

Once the bread emerged some time later, all crusty and golden, Della and Arthur shared a moment of triumph. They sliced into the warm loaf, steam rising as the knife cut through the crust. Breaking bread together, they savored the fruits of their labor.

"This," Arthur declared between bites, "is surprisingly delightful. Perhaps there's more to life than I've allowed myself to experience."

Della grinned, toasting their success with her slice of bread. "Indeed, Mr. Parker. Sometimes, all it takes is a willingness to dive into something new and embrace the simple pleasures."

And so, in the heart of Sanditon, a friendship took root over the aroma of freshly baked bread, a testament to the power of shared experiences and the joy found in unexpected companionship.

A Battle of Wits

When Eleanor Parker returned to Sanditon, she had expected a warm welcome: the prodigal daughter, home at last.

What she had not expected was to find the man she had refused seven years ago right at her brother's side, whispering in his ear.

Francis Lennox had successfully repressed every thought of her for seven years only to meet her in a quaint little seaside town that offered neither diversion nor respite from her presence.

This time, he is determined not to let her humiliate him.

This time, she is determined not to let him fool her.

Ironic since, as Facebook Memories reminded me, it was 10 years ago today that Welcome To Sanditon narrowly missed out on an Emmy due to a case of category confusion.
