I’m going to be brutally honest in saying this but I had almost forgotten about Wally due to my mind hyper focusing on Howdy and Sally, and Julie lol. Any fun acts about Julie? If that’s okey?

I'm head over heels for Julie more than Howdy tbh.

Aside from always having tons of energy, Julie is completely confident in just about anything she does and sometimes that confidence boosts others up, it's what makes her so likeable and popular on the mainland.

Julie has always been torn on either owning a flower shop or a beauty salon...it was so conflicting that she ended up getting both. Of course she has lots of employees in both places to keep things going when she isn't around, same situation as Howdy with his restaurant.

With such a huge success came lots of attention both in-person and online and she is thriving off of all the attention she gets on social media and the many people surrounding her (I told ya, finfolk are vain with huge egos).

Surprisingly out of all the neighbors Julie is the least bloodthirsty (yes, even Poppy does kill, though very little, she's feels guilty about it usually) even when she's at risk of being found out by a puppet on mainland. That doesn't mean she won't kill at all though. If you make yourself a big enough threat she will do something about it and mercy is longer an option. IF this certain puppet marked for death has done anything to really tick her off or harm a loved one she is prone to torturing the victim. This is rare though. She's patient but there are some puppets on mainland that really know how to test their luck.

Having such a bubbly and confident attitude is sure to attract a lot of potential lovers of course, it's like Julie is playing life on easy mode sometimes. Who wouldn't want someone as beautiful, kind, bubbly, and wonderful as her? Yeah sometimes her ego and vanity make a small appearance...but it's that punch to the ego that caught her attention when you so politely turned her down on an invitation to a tea party. She never gets a no from anyone, everyone is always wanting to go shopping with her or make an appearance at a large tea party just to be seen with her. Maybe she was too forthcoming?

Stalking is somewhat of a hobby she has when scouting out suspicious people. Or just people she is suspicious of knowing too much that could be catching onto what she is. If that's the case, she just buys a potion from Howdy and hires a cute remora dog or shark dog at his restaurant to serve it to the person of interest. But this time was different. She really liked being around you. You are so calm and zen around her even when things got loud or energetic, you stuck around and remained soft-spoken no matter what. Such a cutie.

Usually she tries getting you to come along with her on shopping trips just to show you off or get outfits for you. It's weird at first, but her confidence eventually gets you to come along with her on trips. Sooner or later after getting to know Julie, she asks you to come along with her on vacation during the summer.

You said yes, unassuming of her true intentions.

Scary parts of the Reader

★ You might not think of yourself as intimidating, but from their perspective, you're a walking anomaly. A creature unlike anything they’ve ever seen. Even frank didn't know what you were! And he's supposed to be the smartest neighbor.

★ Puppets tear, unravel, and fade. Requiring patches or stitches. Even after that, they never look the same. But humans? You heal, your body repairs itself. Leaving you good as new after getting a scrape. That alone could make you seem unnatural.

★ There’s a fine line between strange and scary, and in Home, you might find yourself stuck between it. At least when you first move in. Even so, the tight knit community welcomed you.

★ If you use your teeth to open something, be prepared for some strange looks. Poppy might flinch, then look at you with concern. "O-Oh my goodness, oh dear. Why would you do that?! Is this just… normal for you?" Eyes darting between your mouth and whatever was torn open.

★ On days where you didn't have any sleep, Eddie gets nervous around you. It's something about the way you move that unsettles him. Partnered with the unfocused look in your eyes. Would Eddie be scared? No, not exactly. But he keeps his distance until you’re back to normal.

★ The worst thing Frank learned was that you're a predator. Specifically, an apex predator at the very top of the food chain. Before, Frank saw you as merely an oddity. Now, he sees you as something a little more dangerous.

★ After figuring out human's hunt prey by chasing them to exhaustion. Frank refuses to play tag with you. Saying "Absolutely not." While crossing his arms. "There is no way I'd willingly put myself in a situation where I have to outrun you."

★ Julie loves you, she really does! But sometimes you can be a downer. Even if it's not on purpose. Your serious moments just throw her off. Having a more realistic view on the world would make you stick out in the neighborhood.

★ Your stomach growing freaks out Barnaby. To him it sounds like a dog growling at him. And he reacts accordingly. Leaning back to put some distance between himself and whatever might be dwelling inside of you. Maybe just a little scared.

★ Howdy once saw you bite down on a plastic cord. Cutting it without the need for scissors. "Whoa there, neighbor! Did you just..." He gestures towards the cord, trying to process what he just witnessed. Watching you bite through tough materials is too much for him.

After the latest Welcome Home update and the character development we received for Julie, I’ve felt a strong urge to write something about her—and this is the result of some frantic typing, haha! I really enjoyed working on this and have an idea to possibly turn it into a multi-chapter x-reader fanfiction, but I’ll only move forward with that if there’s enough interest. ✿ At first, it’s cute. She’s bouncing up to your doorstep every morning with a bright grin and a new game idea. “Wake up, Silly! The flowers said your face needs fresh air! I brought dice and lemon tarts and a spoon! Now we just need a blindfold!” You play along—how could you not? But over time, her visits start earlier. Then earlier. One day, you find her waiting outside your window before the sky has turned blue, waving and tapping her paw against the glass like a metronome. “Couldn’t sleep! I thought of a game! I call it Twilight Breakfast Tag!” She doesn’t blink.

✿ She gives you gifts. Lots of them. Handmade, glitter-caked, often vaguely resembling you. A sock puppet named after you. A spaghetti drawing of your house. A flower crown woven from plants you never planted. “The garden told me your dreams last night were blue. So I made you this! It’s a BLUE-DREAM BONNET!” You smile, say thank you. But later, you notice some petals in the crown are from Frank’s private garden—and he never lets anyone pick from there. “Don’t worry,” she says, when you ask. “Frank doesn’t mind! He just doesn’t know yet!”

✿ Julie always loved making up new games. But lately, the rules have been getting strange. You’re “It” now. Forever. No one else can be “It.” Even when you stop playing. Even when you’re tired. Even when you’re crying. “Oopsie daisy! You can’t quit! You’re the STAR of the show! If you don’t play, the Neighborhood goes dark!” Her smile twitches at the corners. She’s still cheerful. Too cheerful. But her eyes don’t sparkle the same way anymore.

✿ You used to hang out with Frank. With Eddie. With Wally. Now? Every time you try, Julie just… appears. She plops between you and Frank with an exaggerated huff. “Awwwwww, Frankie! You’re not keeping my favorite neighbor to yourself, are you?” Then she throws her arms around you and laughs so loud it drowns out anything Frank tries to say. “I’m just sooooooo jealous! We never play anymore! Let’s fix that! RIGHT NOW!” Her grip doesn’t loosen, even when you pull away.

✿ You tell her you’re busy one day. That you need time alone. Julie goes quiet for the first time. Her head tilts just a bit too far. “…Alone? Without me?” A beat. Then she smiles. “Well, that’s just silly! You can’t spell ‘JULIE’ without ‘U’!” That night, when you get home, your bed’s been made. Your fridge is full of peanut butter and honey sandwiches. There’s a flower tucked in your pillowcase. You never gave her a key.

✿ The neighbors whisper now. You hear Sally mutter something about “Julie being Julie again.” Frank’s been quieter, distracted. He asks if everything’s alright. You lie. But Julie’s not blind. The next time you try to talk to someone alone, she drags you off mid-conversation. “This is OUR Special Time! We can’t let the others get in the way of our bond!” Then she smiles so wide you swear her cheeks might split. “They’re just jealous! They don’t understand the RULES of this game!”

✿ Julie starts wearing pieces of your clothing. “You left this at my house!” she says, even when you know you never visited. “Smells like YOU! So warm and comfy and YOU!” She twirls around in your shirt, giggling like it’s the punchline of the world’s best joke. Later, you notice a cup missing. Then another shirt. Then your spare toothbrush. Julie’s room starts looking eerily familiar. You ask about it, and she says, “Well of COURSE I’m building a YOU corner! Every queen needs her co-star!”

✿ One day you find your name scribbled on the pavement outside your house. Over and over. Hearts around it. Smileys. “Julie + You = Forever!” in bold sidewalk chalk looping endlessly around your front steps. It wraps around the base of your home. Up the mailbox. Even over the windows. “It’s a Surprise Sidewalk Spectacle!” Julie sings, arms flung wide. “I wanted to see your smile first thing in the morning!” But her eyes don’t match her voice. They’re desperate.

✿ She starts talking to your reflection. You catch her giggling into the mirror in your hallway. “Oh! You’re such a card! We’re so perfect together! Aren’t we? Aren’t we?” She’s holding one of your shirts, petting it like it’s alive. You freeze. Julie sees you, but doesn’t flinch. “Shhh. Don’t interrupt! You were telling me all your secret secrets!” Her expression turns serious and her tone flattens. “And you said you’d never leave me.”

✿ The last straw is when you try to go. She catches you at the edge of the Neighborhood. Breathless. Still smiling. “You can’t leave yet! The game’s not over! Don’t you remember? You’re It!” You run. You don’t get far. The trees around the place are strange. Too twisty. Too bright. The sky doesn’t move right. Julie’s voice echoes everywhere. “Come back, come back, come back! I’m sorry, just—!” Then silence. When you open your door the next morning, she’s sitting on your porch. Covered in glitter and dirt. Cradling a piece of your torn clothing, whispering to herself “I’ll give them everything they want. I don’t understand why they keep running. Am I not enough?...” You had never heard her voice drop so low. Now you know that all her blunder, all her cheer, it’s just a facade and the Julie Joyful who was sitting in front of your house, back turned, was the real deal.

Frank could admit to his supposed flaws. Out of all the neighbors, he was the one who was the most prickly, so to speak. He went with logic rather than feelings and was the polar opposite of his best friend Julie. He could admit that his snippy personality could make him difficult to be around. That it could make him unapproachable to some. Yet he wasn't an unreasonable man or puppet. But at the moment.....

'I'm gonna start killing people.'

The grey puppet thought briefly as he grounded his teeth to not get into an argument. Praying to any deity out there to give him some patience. To spare his last nerve that was on its last leg. Across from him was Barnaby, the large blue dog puppet looking just as annoyed despite his easy-going grin.

"I just don't think it's a good idea exposing us."

The larger male said his tone lazy but firm. Frank took a deep breath, reminding himself that Barnaby was only thinking about the others. Just like himself.

"We can't keep this hidden forever. Sooner or later (Y/N) is gonna find out about us. And I think it'd be wise if we eased them into this rather than spring it on them."

Frank explained, trying to get Barnaby to see what he was saying. Just as he'd been trying to in vain to get him to see for the past two days.

"And what makes you think that we can trust (Y/N)?"

Howdy piped up, ever the question asker as much as a salesman. His eyes were narrowed a bit, staring Frank down. The smaller puppet wasn't phased, but he didn't respond. He didn't know how to convey that just from watching you for these past few weeks, he'd just got this gut feeling that you were trustworthy. Not in a way that was the logical manner that he was known for.

"Because they've been fixing us up! Despite all the bumps and road blocks, (Y/N) has done nothing but put us first! If they're willing to fix us old puppets, then I'm sure they're trustworthy!"

Julie chimed in, speaking Frank's thoughts exactly.

"I mean, look at my dress! My hair! Eddie's mailbag and Poppy's feathers! For goodness sake, they'd cleaned you up Howdy! And they just finished Frank's vest!"

The chipper puppet explained, holding the end of her red dress to show your handy work. The tears and holes that once littered the skirt were now patched up with adorable flower styled patches that were sewed on and ironed on. Some of them looked a bit bad, but they were stable enough to stay in place until you could figure out how to make them look better. Yet it was clear that they were done with care. And you'd gotten quite a few burns and pricks from trying to fix it. Poppy, who'd been quiet, jumped a bit, her feathers looking much better since their arrival to your home.

'Countless hours spent preening and fixing those feathers.'

Frank noted remembering how long it'd taken you to get the worst ones out.

"Julie darling....just because they fixed us doesn't mean that they're trustworthy with this."

Sally replied, sounding like she was exhausted and uninterested. The actor was next to Poppy, looking rather unimpressed with Julie's arguments.

"Now, now, let's not fight, please. This is a discussion, not an argument."

Poppy said, ever, the motherly one, as she sensed the possibility of an argument brewing. Julie, who had opened her mouth to reply, closed it, and Sally just sighed, not commenting.

"Well.....I don't know about you and Ms. Starlet, but I agree with Mr. Frankly and Ms. Joyful. (L/N) has been nothing but thoughtful. I think if we just explained, they'd understand."

Eddie, who hadn't really given his stance, put in. Frank looked at the larger mailman, who was nervous but steady in his words. Not wanting to stare too long, he quickly looked away.

"This could end badly if we tell them, you three realize this, right??"

Howdy asked his tone, judging.

"Howdy is onto something, pal. I'm not saying that (Y/N) is a bad person, but they're not him. Humans aren't always nice."

Barnaby threw in, looking a bit regretful at Julie and Eddie's expressions falling. Poppy and Sally didn't say anything else, but by their expressions, they were taking Barnaby and Howdy's words into consideration. Frank wanted to tear his hair out because he understood where they were coming from. He knew humans sometimes were not kind, especially to people or things who were different. But he couldn't give up. Something within him just couldn't let himself completely agree.

Not after watching you fix and clean them. Not after having you talk to him, always friendly save for when you were tired from work and other things. Not after watching you burn, cut, and prick your fingers and hands so much just to make them look better. Everything you did, it just screamed kindness. He wanted to give you a chance to be eased into this, not be taken by surprise.

You deserved that much, at least.

Frank steeled himself to again argue his, Julie, and Eddie's case on trusting you when a voice spoke up.

"No, they're not him. (Y/N) won't ever be him, but........they have his kindness. They've spoken to us and treated us like living beings. I think.....that they can be trusted."

Wally, who had been silent the entire time, had caused them all to quiet down and look at him. The smaller yellow puppet was calmly sitting on your armchair, a thoughtful expression on his face. Frank could see the others' expressions becoming resigned despite their displeasure. While Julie and Eddie perked up immediately at another one of their group agreeing.

"Wally buddy...."

Barnaby started to say, but Wally looking at him with a head tilt, quietly listening to his best friend, made him stop. The dog puppet just gave a sigh, knowing that Wally wasn't one to put his opinion in unless he was sure. And trying to change his mind was futile.

"I don't like this. You better think of a plan on how to do this, Frank..."

Barnaby said, gaze boring into him. Frank just thinned his mouth, meeting it head on.

"I always have a plan, Barnaby. I'm a bit offended you'd think otherwise."

So, seeing as I added Welcome Home to my Fandom list, I thought to make something for it before leaving to visit family! Hope you enjoy it!

Sum: You moved into the neighborhood and meet all the occupants of the place.

❤️ After moving in, the first neighbor you met was the most darling of them all; Wally Darling! Naturally.

🧡 He's the one to show you around and introduce you to all his friends in the neighborhood. Julie, Frank, Eddie, Howdy, Poppy, Home, and Barnaby!

💛 Of course, he introduced you to his best friend first; Barnaby B. Beagle. The blue dog of which cracked a joke not long after meeting you. (Read: immediately after meeting you.)

💚 Julie would love that they all have a new neighbor! She'd rope you into whatever she was doing before you're taken away to meet the others by Wally if she didn't drag you to meet Frank before he does so.

🩵 Frank wouldn't be the most enthusiastic about a new neighbor, unlike Julie. He'd probably be studying some bugs before being interrupted by Julie dragging you behind her, shouting out to him to meet you. If you share a similar interest, he'd be pretty happy about that and would probably share some facts about them with you.

💙 Eddie. Sweet Eddie Dear would help you move the furniture into your house if he didn't have any mail to deliver that day.

💜 Poppy, having heard of a new neighbor moving in, would have made some cookies for you; giving them to you when you go to meet her.

🩷 If Howdy didn't have a shop to run, he would also offer to help move things into your house; but unfortunately, he has to stay in his store to make sure a certain blue pompadour haired puppet didn't steal any apples.

🤍 Now Home. Home is unable to talk because it's, well, a house. So, instead of that, it makes a bunch of noises by opening and closing the window shutters in greeting.

I.. Kinda got lazy at the end... Also, can you tell who my favorite is? Lol

ᜊ. Karaoke with none other than your favorite neighbors is rather exciting and enjoyable! Taking turns with who is singing while cheering them on or having a duet with either of them!

ᜊ. The neighbors wouldn't mind if you were bad at singing, since all of you were out to have fun! Even Wally is rather bad at singing, so both of you could cheer each other on when it comes to either of you singing! (And possibly giving Wally assistance with the song too).

ᜊ. Frank and Julie would have the most fun when it comes to singing, with Julie mostly doing small dances when singing and hyping someone up when it's their turn, it's best to say Julie is the number one fan of everyone!

ᜊ. Sally was more dramatic and was doing it over the top when it was her turn, she felt like a star and shined like one! And she absolutely had to show it to everyone that she truly is one, too!

ᜊ. Eddie was mostly attempting to sing a long the lyrics while having fun, if it were a more faster song Eddie would be stuttering a bit over the place when he couldn't finish singing the previous line, and afterwards immediately missing a line since he forgot where he was.

ᜊ. Barnaby had the most fun, he was mostly joking around when it was his turn, changing the pitch of his voice to either something deep or high while not taking it seriously one bit, which is what made it fun for him!

ᜊ. Howdy who mostly hummed a tune or two occasionally was pretty average when it came to singing. Not being the best at it, but certainly not the worst either. He'd tap one of his foots to follow the rhythm and to keep up with the tact. Howdy did enjoy singing along, but he definitely would continue sticking to humming.

ᜊ. Poppy was mostly sitting and cheering all of you on quietly, being the one who was more anxious and nervous to sing along with either of you, all she could do was cheer you all on! In her own way, she did have fun! (And just maybe, you could convince her to sing a long!)

ᜊ. It was a enjoyable time! Laughing with them all and having a fun time, having a duet with whoever you wish to have one with and later on going back to the neighborhood while talking about how you should do it again when the time comes!

ᜊ. Bidding goodbye to all of them for today and wishing them a nice rest, you returned to a house you call yours, with a warm morning soon to meet you, you went to bed and slept till the morning sun came back up. Starting a new and fun day for you and your neighbors once again.

Julie, Frank, Howdy, Poppy, Sally, Barnaby and Wally & Reader who asked them what they think about death

Julie

★ When you first bring up the topic, her grin widens, clearly unfamiliar with the word. "Death?" she repeats. "Thats a funny word! What kind of game is that?" Her eyes wide and curious. Assuming you wanted to share some new game with her.

★ As you explain its meaning, her grin softens. “So… things just stop? They don’t play anymore? Not ever? That sounds so sad.” For a moment, Julie's playful demeanor faulters. Attempting to wrap her head around such a thing. "Are you sure that's right?" You nod, feeling some guilt for breaking the news to her.

★ But Julie, being Julie, tries to bounce back. She reaches out and places her hands on yours. “Well, maybe it’s not really the end! Maybe it’s like when the flowers take a nap in the winter, and then they wake up all bright and happy in the spring!” She says, trying to comfort both herself and you.

Frank

★ He understands death more than the other neighbors. Life cycles and food chains are critical for any ecosystem to function. That he knows well. Frank even has several books about the topic! But that's different. Animals are not people. When you bring up death, he gives you an impromptu lesson about how life cycles work.

★ Frank begins by saying "death isn’t merely an end” in that factual tone he so often uses. "It's an integral part of the natural cycle!" You already know that, but let him have his fun. Educating you on a topic you're more than familiar with.

★ However, he assumed that human lives were different. You weren't an animal, bug or plant. So why would someone like you die? The thought never crossed his mind. You'll need to break the news to him as gently as possible. Good luck.

Howdy

★ When you ask him, Howdy tilts his head and looks at you for a moment. Trying to figure out if you're being serious. "Well now, usually a question like that would cost a pretty penny." You nod. "But this time" he says, pulling out a chair for you "it's on the house." With a nervous smile, He gestures for you to sit.

★ He explains it to you in the simplest way possible, like you're a child. "Death's kinda like when the store closes for the night. The lights go out, the shelves are empty, and everything goes real quiet." While speaking, he keeps his tone soft. Again, treating you like a child.

Poppy

★ "Oh! What an... Interesting question" she says. Honestly, the topic makes her a bit nervous. Nevertheless she answers you "That's what happens if you aren't careful, and... break." As she speaks, she fidgets with her wings. Showing her discomfort.

★ Her nervousness is understandable, given her tendency to avoid risks and stay in her home. Where its safe. “But, um,” she adds quickly, attempting to lighten the mood. "We just have to take good care of ourselves, and each other. So nothing bad happens to us."

Sally

★ To her, it’s less of a sad reality and more an opportunity for storytelling. It's a tool for drama. Not something to be feared or mourned. As she goes on, it's clear that Sally doesn’t fully grasp the weight of death.

Barnaby

★ Barnaby doesn't like thinking about death. When you ask him about it, he treats it like a joke. “Death, eh? Well, that’s what they call it when somebody goes to live on a farm.” His tone is light, steering the conversation away from anything too serious. “You don’t need to worry about stuff like that, kid.”

Wally

★ When you ask him what he thinks about death, he tilts his head. Trying to recall where he's heard that word. “Death?” he repeats. "it's when someone goes away, isn’t it?" If you had to guess, Barnaby told him that.

★ He never really dwelled on death before. To Wally, life in Home had always been a continuous loop of joy and games. Death was a word he’d heard in passing, but it never stuck out as something important or relevant to his little world.

★ The more he learns, the more curios he becomes. “Does it happen to everyone?” he asks with a morbid fascination. “Do they know when it’s going to happen? Or is it... a surprise?” Despite how unsettling his questions are, it’s clear he’s genuinely trying to learn.
