I went to Trader Joe's yesterday to pick up some of my beloved chocolate peanut butter pretzels, and one of the cashiers was a tatted up butch wearing pointy elf/Spock ears, and you know what, I have a new type. I don't think they'd be into me for several reasons, but I learned something new about myself today.

We're not appreciating the Weird Barbie enough. It's said in the movie that she helps everyone who need help while they always see her as someone who's not as good as them. She was friends with all dismissed Barbies and Kens, was there to offer support and safe shelter for everyone who needed it in Kendom, without her nothing in the movie would've been alright. When Stereotypical Barbie calls her "ugly and unwanted" she still helps her.
She was representing a woman in women's world who was pushed aside by other women because she didn't fit in but still had more wisdom and kindness than everyone who thought they're better than her.

So what if it is normal or not? (rhetorical question)
"It isn't normal for older people to have teddy bears." "It isn't normal to stim." "It isn't normal for adults to like 'childish' things." "It isn't normal for people to never drink (alcohol)."
"It isn't normal to..." "It isn't normal..." "It isn't normal..."
Okay, and? (rhetorical question) So what? I do not care. It doesn't matter.
Do it. If you want to or need to. If you have are choosing to or you have to. If it is "normal" or not. Do it.
As long as you aren't harming. What does it matter if society considers it abnormal? (rhetorical question)
Carry toys. Stim. Watch kid shows. Play kid games. Stay sober. Wear the clothes. Do the things. So what?
It doesn't have to be considered normal by society before you can do it. Yes "normalise xyz". But also, do the things now. When they aren't normalised.
Live your life. Have fun. Be yourself. Normal or not. And hey, maybe find joy in being weird.

I am so tickled by the thought of Daniel’s family seeing him at almost 80 branch out into a new social circle comprised of beautiful men in their 20s and 30s that are also the most intense and bizarre people anyone’s ever met and worse now Dad is acting Exactly Like Them

Scytinium turgidum
When I see people tag my lichen posts with #plant, I have to admit, a part of me dies inside. Because like, cyanolichens like S. turgidum have to plants parts. This guy is composed of an ascomycete fungi and a cyanobacteria -- no plants involved whatsoever. This jelly lichen grows on calcareous rock often inundated with runoff. It has shiny red-black to blackish-olive lobes which are wrinkled and thin when dry, thick and gelatinous when wet. The upper surface is covered in granular isidia, and often brownish-red apothecia. S. turgidum has a Nostoc photobiont.
