i swear to god why do minecraft mobs want nothing but to seek out the nearest and most ridiculous way to end their own miserable lives. why are they programmed like this. my friend had to rescue my pet eel in our modded server because he so gracefully flopped his way out the little pond we have in an attempt to shrivel up and die

The Minecraft movie would've been so good if they'd just. Made it in earnest

#ramblings #i saw the trailer lol. wasn't gonna talk abt it at all and just pretend it's some weird fever dream #but i've been playing a bit of minecraft again recently and like. the makings for a good story are Right There #a movie abt someone waking up in and unfamiliar world learning how to survive in it #being in awe of its beauty and its dangers #going on new adventures every day and discovering more and more abt the world #building with the blocks they find along the way #and at the end you have the end poem read to you aloud #it could have steve and/or alex as the main characters we follow. or we could have a new character #a character that's explicitly a stand-in for the viewer/player. going on adventures with steve and alex #and maybe. steve and alex are the ones that recite the poem at the end #because they were the ones watching the player in their dream of the game all along #or something like that idk. anyways what i'm saying is they should've turned rt game's playthrough into an animated movie #instead of making an obvious (and ugly as fuck) cash grab #tho ig hollywood isn't really known for making things in earnest is it

Whats better than a giant underground ancient library?

a giant underground ancient library with a bigass fantasy tree of course!!!!

i also decided the pillar that the tree is on doesnt need a big interior, so i just made a cozy little tunnel with some lecterns for significant books from my world :3

And here we are! 31 Days of building finally reach there conclusion. This has been such a fun challenge to participate in, and it has really pushed me to improve in several different kinds of building (as well a revealing what blocks and styles I default to)

starting another WIP lol this ones based on a train station in philadelphia (inspo source). Used tons of light blocks around the ceiling and floor and addded a skylight so the inside isnt pitch black. will eventually add some sort of train platform area to it...

im also debating whether i should download farmer's delight...

#it looks rly cool and pretty vanilla but also like #a part of me feels like some of these mods that add new decorative and homely blocks #could maybe detract from the creativity of using minecraft's existing blocks to represent things in more abstract ways #like all the weird ways ppl use combinations of stairs and trapdoors and buttons and job blocks #by just giving u the thing ur trying to represent #but then also i dont know how to build anything nice and lack the motivation to try so mb this would encourage me more?#also some of it will probably clash with my resource pack which makes crops and mushrooms more three-dimensional...
