I understand why these streaming services keep releasing documentaries as mini series instead of feature-length films (it helps their viewership numbers etc) but it's a real pain in the ass when I've got a goal to watch 100 movies in a year and I've already decided that those didn't count

So in my elementary and middle school years, I used to be a huge fan of writing. (I am sad to say that this is no longer the case.)

Because I’d have so many silly quotes, poems, and ideas floating around my head, I made a habit of texting them to myself for safe keeping.

watching a random netflix documentary about that viral hitchhiker from years ago and like I've never personally had to sleep on the street (altho we were technically homeless for a couple weeks due to bullshit leasing dates one year we were able to stay with assorted parents which was Awful but still not the street) but I had an ex who became a drifter and I've had friendly chats with a lot of homeless folks and stuff like that and even just from that it's like damn none of these fuckin reporters have ever talked to a homeless person before huh. they're all like astounded that he was a loose cannon and that he'd steal stuff to share out with the other homeless folks and stuff and it's like yeah? that's how this works?

do they have any sensitivities to smells?

absolutely. i think that's one of the things garry is really sensitive about. anything that's too aggressive for her senses, that could overwhelm her and freak her out, or cause her to shut down. think, for example, the smell of petrol at a gas station. or standing really close when somebody opens a new bucket of fresh paint. strong smells can really affect her well being if she's not prepared for them, or if she can't escape from them when she wishes to.

there's also something about ... think, walking through the hallways of the gallery. the velvet floor, and walls, and ceiling. a tight space that seems so far away from reality that you're not sure if fresh air ever existed here in the first place. stuffy and uncomfortable, smelling of old furniture and aged, wooden frames. crayon.

do they have a comfort movie? book? tv show?

i don't think garry is one for watching movies, and she's only just started dipping her toes into the world of art and creativity. if anything, she probably really likes watching cooking or baking shows. like, she probably loves kitchen nightmares or that one british baking show. and don't be fooled, being able to critique or joke about the people on screen is part of the appeal for her, since nobody ever gets to hear it outside of herself. documentaries in general are kinda interesting to her as well, if she's looking for something a bit more chill to hang out with or get high to. nature documentaries are her favourite, but she also likes fashion documentaries or historic documentaries occasionally.

what do they do when they are deep in thought?

she absolutely chews her nails, to her own dismay. she really wants to keep them looking pretty, but it's an impulse that's really hard to ignore for her. the skin around her nails isn't safe, either, though that, she manages to stop herself from occasionally, not wanting to accidentally hurt herself by ripping too much.

i think she also chews on her lips, sometimes a little too hard. she usually exfoliates her lips so there's no peeling skin for her to bite off, she's just chewing for the funsies. and other than that, she wiggles her fingers, or shakes her hands and legs, or softly scratches her thighs. she fidgets a lot in general, but it's very noticeable when she's deep in thought because she's not speaking, she's just fidgeting.
