David said, “Stede’s gonna be a mermaid.” And Gypsy said, “Great! And he’s a goldfish.”

The writers said, “Never left.” And Taika said, “Great! And I’m gonna add a foot touch.”

Someone said yes to the nose jar.

Someone said yes to the double sandwich slap that broke Nathan.

Someone said yes to “La Vie en Rose.”

It’s no wonder the fans of this show are running around yes-and-ing each other with art and memes and fics and muppets.

Con is right - we all need to reach out for that yes, in every aspect of our creative lives. That’s when the cool shit happens.

THIS WEEK, ON WJW

Con chose violence once again by teasing us about Izzy's backstory.

- Izzy's biggest regret was not having let himself fall in love. Seeing Ed and Stede love so fully only made him regret it more.

- Izzy's emerald ring that he keeps on his necktie is related to that love.

- Con had a tattoo put on the inside of his wrist by his stylist in S2. It was a name and it had cut marks over it. We never got to see it.

- We would have that story developed in S3

- The scene where Izzy walks in on Wee John preparing for Calypso's Birthday was much longer. It ended with them both looking at Wee John's mirror and Izzy saying "Make me pretty."

I saw on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the writers room for OFMD was bad because of the recently revealed scrapped plot lines. I get that you might not like those side stories but they didn’t make it into the show for a reason. Like they were cut for a reason, I don’t know how you can say the writers are bad for NOT going through with plot lines that are bad. I’m not a creative writer but I do academic research and let me tell you I have had horrible ideas that I pursued to scrap later. I imagine it’s the same for creative writing. Sometimes you gotta develop half baked ideas to find out what actually works.

The first time I saw this image, I knew I wanted to try to re-create this party. We're doing it this June for Pride Month at Pearl Moon in Woodstock NY! Date TBC, Sunday in June 2024. Dancing, costume contest with silly prizes, OFMD themed cocktails (and mocktails), and maybe a surprise fuckery...

Original script: Wee John was supposed to play cupid cause the crew was so frustrated with the sexual tension between Ed and Stede, so Wee John gave Stede a makeover and then they danced and hooked up

Izzy had so much left to be told. A tattoo of a name that was put on by makeup in every scene. His emerald ring. Falling in love. An entire backstory that Con has been sitting on and hoped to flesh out.
