Astrology Observations 🤍✨
Hi friends! Welcome back to another post 💅🏻 today we’ll be looking at astro observations! Please like, comment and reblog to help this blog grow ✨
Aries + Taurus pairing as friends/couple are the show stoppers. They draw attention wherever they go, there’s so much fire between them. Although Taurus is an Earth sign, Taurus does enjoy the finer things in life and passion! Aries helps to bring the heat in the connection and the two have a lot in common. Aries is headstrong, Taurus is as well. Both are self starters and independent. Both know what they want (taurus is a fixed sign) and both know what it takes to create + sustain it.
Aquarius sun experienced being the quiet one in group settings, especially if they were with people they didn’t necessarily understand or get along with. Its not that they aren’t smart, or capable of human interaction. They’re actually great at it, they just preserve their energy for better people/interactions.
Gemini’s love to story tell and embellish their stories! They love adding jokes, flare, and drama to their stories. They’re a bit like Leo-great at storytelling and communicating! Both Leo and Gemini love to entertain 🤍✨
Transits in your 4th house-family will require your attention more, and specifically the Mother could be around a lot more. Physically, emotionally and mentally even if you may not have a great connection. She may try to wiggle her way in your life during these 4th house transits. If you work with ancestors, they will be sending you dreams and messages day to day even more than usual. Expect the things that you need to liberate yourself from will come up in dreams, or day to day. Dreaming of your childhood for example can be triggering to some, whether the dream was good or bad.
Sagittarius are often quiet but have a lot to say when in a proper group setting. They think a lot of the world around them, and I notice they like to be in situations where they can mansplain 🤣 but offering advice and mediating conversations is their specialty. They’re blunt, honest, and get to the point.
Leo women often walk with a lot of respect, flare and spirit. Their head is held high.
Cancer women love going out and love staying home! They have their homebody moments too 💅🏻 cancers love a good time! And are not stuck in their shell as ya’ll may think
Cancer women may also be the type to have fairy tattoos, or tattoos that are delicate. They have tattoos that have a whimsical charm to them, even if it may be considered “dark.” There is an ethereal vibe to it!
Virgo women love planning, decorating and getting family together! Or who they consider family. They love setting the mood, setting the atmosphere, environment. They would be great party planners/wedding planners!
Pisces women may be into cars 👀
Scorpio moon women may get into nursing at some point or considered studying that!
Gemini women may love doing their own nails, and being proud of their art! They love to show off anything that expresses their skill.
Gemini Venus women want to speak different languages but may get frustrated at the effort required 😂 as a gemini venus myself yes
Capricorn moon women may enjoy having a minimalistic setup in their room, colors that are light and simple, but with a dash of darkness or vivid color! They love creating balance in their room and have an eye for intensity through detail
Leo rising commands all the attention in the room for themselves. But I’ve noticed if a Leo rising is not feeling confident in themselves, they can come across as arrogant, and self absorbed. It’s because part of them needs their own attention and space, but the native isn’t realizing that. Or the native doesn’t know how to meet their needs.
Thank you all for being here! I really appreciate it 🥹💗 Please enjoy the little observations I put together! Feel free to like comment and reblog ✨

   planning for michael’s wedding makes jamal wonder about his own.

The crisp spring breeze carried the promise of summer as Jamal pulled you closer, his hand snugly clasping yours. The two of you had just arrived at Michael Olise’s favorite café, a modest spot tucked into a quiet corner of Munich. Michael and his fiancé were already there, seated at a small table adorned with wedding planning binders, color swatches, and an open laptop. The scene was so unlike the Michael Olise you’d come to know that you couldn’t help but stifle a giggle.
Michael was usually the embodiment of cool indifference—a player so composed on and off the pitch that it bordered on comedic. Nothing fazed him. He always had a deadpan response for every situation, even when Jamal would crack the kind of jokes that had everyone else doubled over.
But today?
Today, he looked like he was plotting the heist of the century as he discussed floral arrangements with his fiancé, an absolutely lovely woman who was as detail-oriented as Michael was laid-back.
“About time Jamal.” Michael stated to the two of you as Jamal helped pull out your chair.
“You told us to meet you at noon; the clock hasn’t even hit twelve yet.” Jamal pointed out, grinning as he leaned back in his chair, his arm draping instinctively over the back of yours.
Michael’s fiancé, Imani, laughed, her eyes sparkling as she reached over to pat his hand. “He’s just stressed. Don’t mind him.”
“Stressed?” Jamal asked with raised eyebrows, glancing at you like you were both witnessing a rare phenomenon. “Michael doesn’t get stressed.”
“He does now,” you teased, shooting Michael a smirk. “Apparently, weddings are his kryptonite.”
Michael rolled his eyes but didn’t argue, which was a win in itself. You’d learned over the years that Jamal and Michael’s friendship was built on this kind of easy ribbing.
They were polar opposites in many ways—Jamal was warm and expressive, while Michael was cool and reserved—but their bond was undeniable. And as Jamal’s girlfriend, you’d been lucky enough to be pulled into their tight-knit circle.
Imani laughed softly. “Honestly, he’s been amazing. You should’ve seen him at the cake tasting. He took notes.”
“Notes?” Jamal said, feigning shock. “Olise took notes?”
Michael shot him a glare that was more amused than annoyed. “Do you two want to help, or are you just here to annoy me?”
“Bit of both,” you said cheekily, and even Michael had to laugh at that.
The next hour was spent flipping through endless photographs of flower arrangements and venue setups. Jamal kept leaning over to whisper funny comments in your ear, his breath warm against your skin. You tried to keep a straight face, but when he pointed out that Michael’s intense focus on table linens looked like he was deciding on where to aim a penalty kick, you lost it.
“Okay, okay,” Michael said, pretending to be exasperated as Jamal tried to keep a straight face.
“Laugh it up. But wait until it’s your turn. I’m going to make you suffer through cake tastings and centerpiece debates.”
“Don’t threaten me with a good time,” Jamal replied, winking at you.
The wedding planning wasn’t just confined to these casual afternoons, though. In the weeks leading up to the big day, you found yourself spending more time with Imani than you ever thought possible. The two of you had bonded over dress fittings, invitation designs, and brainstorming ways to keep this information away from the public.
She was sharp-witted and kind, with a calm presence that seemed to balance out Michael’s newfound stress. It was clear to everyone who saw them together how much Michael adored her.
“Have you ever seen him like this?” you asked Jamal one evening as you lounged on the couch in his apartment. The two of you were scrolling through pictures of potential bridesmaid dresses.
“Never,” Jamal said, shaking his head with a smile. “It’s hilarious. Michael’s the guy who barely flinches when Davies tackles him at full speed, but when we went to the jewelers he’s suddenly sweating.”
You laughed, leaning into Jamal’s side as he slipped an arm around your shoulders. “It’s sweet, though. You can tell how much he loves her.”
Jamal kissed the top of your head. “Yeah, he got lucky. Kind of like I did.”
It was moments like these that made your relationship with Jamal feel so special. Even amidst all the chaos of wedding prep, he always found ways to remind you how much he cared.
-
The week of the wedding, the Bayern Munich squad got involved in the preparation. Alphonso Davies, Harry Kane, and a few of the other players insisted on throwing Michael a dinner celebration. The night was full of jokes and friendly teasing.
“So, Michael,” Alphonso said as they all lounged in a private booth at a trendy Munich bar. “What’s it like being whipped?”
Michael gave him a withering look as Imani blushed. “Do you ever get tired of talking?”
Harry Kane laughed, shaking his head. “He’s been whipped for years. He just hid it well.”
Jamal, who was sitting next to you, smirked. “It’s true. Remember when he bailed during our FIFA match to go watch a movie with her?”
“That was one time,” Michael muttered, but the tips of his ears were pink.
You and Jamal exchanged amused glances. It was rare to see Michael this flustered, and you had to admit, it was fun to watch. But, of course, the teasing eventually turned on you and Jamal.
“So, when are we getting invites to your wedding?” Alphonso asked, grinning mischievously.
Jamal choked on his drink, and you felt your face heat up. “Um—”.
“Oh, come on,” Harry said, clearly enjoying this. “You’ve been together for years. What’s the hold-up?”
Jamal shot him a glare, but there was no real malice in it. “How about we focus on Michael’s wedding first?”
-
The wedding was everything Michael and Imani had envisioned: elegant, romantic, and full of personal touches that perfectly captured their relationship. As the ceremony unfolded, you couldn’t help but squeeze Jamal’s hand tighter. The cool breeze from the vineyard mixed with the soft murmur of the guests, and for a moment, it felt like time had stopped.
You, ever the observant one, seemed to notice all the small details—Michael’s hand shaking as he held Imani’s, the way Imani beamed as she walked down the aisle, and how Michael’s eyes softened when their hands met. Jamal’s thumb gently brushed over your knuckles as you both watched the couple exchange their vows.
“You good?” he asked in a quiet tone, his breath warm against your ear.
You nodded, blinking back a tear. “Yeah, I’m fine. Just… a little overwhelmed, I guess.”
Jamal’s smile softened, and he leaned in closer, his forehead lightly touching yours. “I get that. It’s a lot of love in the air.”
“You’re not wrong,” you whispered back, feeling your heart flutter. “It’s just so… real.”
Jamal squeezed your hand tighter, his voice a little lower now. “I know what you mean. But hey, I’m glad we’re here. Together.”
You turned your head slightly, catching his eye. “Always,” you said, the words feeling like a promise as much as a response.
The ceremony continued, but you could feel Jamal’s attention lingering on you. As the vows were exchanged, he kept glancing at you with that signature, soft smile of his—the one that made your heart skip a beat. You both watched Michael, a man who had always been so composed, lose his cool for the first time in a long while. His eyes glistened as he looked at Imani, and that made Jamal chuckle beside you.
“You think he’s gonna lose it when they kiss?” Jamal murmured, his lips near your ear again.
You let out a quiet laugh. “I wouldn’t be surprised.”
When they did share that first kiss as husband and wife, Michael wiped his eyes quickly, and you caught Jamal’s eye, both of you trying to suppress your laughter.
“Okay, I admit it,” Jamal said in a mock-serious tone, “that was a really sweet moment.”
“Really sweet,” you agreed, your voice teasing but with a fond undertone.
Once the ceremony ended and the reception kicked off, the playful atmosphere returned. You and Jamal found yourselves twirling on the dance floor, his hands secure on your waist as he moved you in a slow circle.
He leaned down close, his lips brushing your ear. “How’s this? The song’s not overly romantic, is it?”
You chuckled, feeling his warmth radiating against you. “It’s way too cheesy.” you said softly, your fingers brushing the back of his neck.
Jamal smirked, twirling you with a little flourish, making you laugh. “Oh? So, why are you still here then? Am I just that good of a dancer?”
You raised an eyebrow at him. “You wish.”
His smile widened as he pulled you back into a close hold. “Well I must be decent enough to keep you around, huh?”
You pressed your cheek against his chest, feeling his heartbeat steady and calm beneath your ear. “You’ve definitely got me. For good.”
Jamal’s voice dropped low again, the teasing tone from earlier gone. “I can’t imagine my life without you in it. I don’t want to, either.”
You lifted your head to meet his gaze, the sincerity in his eyes making your chest tighten. “Me neither.”
As the night went on, the fun continued—jokes from the other boys, Michael rolling his eyes at Jamal’s speech, and plenty of cake. But through it all, Jamal never let you out of his arms. He was constantly pulling you closer, stealing small kisses, and murmuring little sweet things that made your heart feel full.

This is interesting. The 1867 Jones Mansion is a Second Empire style home. It's original to the point of being a bit shabby, but it's currently operating as a venue for weddings, parties, etc. Located in Findlay, Ohio, it has 5 bds. on the 2nd level, and 3ba. $659,900. In the back of the house there's parking for 21 cars, so the events it hosts must be fairly small.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at how original and timeworn it is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This room would be the main sitting room. Look at the patina on the walls. This room is empty, so it must be one of the rooms they rent out. Beautiful marble fireplace.
Tumblr media
Look at the mantle in the reception room- it's a glass display case. They must rent this room out also, b/c they put lights in the beams.
Tumblr media
The dining room has a lovely ceiling and a marble fireplace.
Tumblr media
They've got coffee and a bar set up in here.
Tumblr media
Nice pedestal sink in the restroom.
Tumblr media
Well, they gutted the kitchen and put in a commercial setup. So, the new owner has a blank slate but would have to invest in a new kitchen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, we're on the 2nd fl.
Tumblr media
This is a bedroom. It's very large and has a great fireplace.
Tumblr media
Bedroom #2, also spacious. Beautiful ceiling and fireplace.
Tumblr media
Looks like the baths are combinations of vintage and modern.
Tumblr media
The description does say that each bedroom has a fireplace. This one is different and it's beautiful, too.
Tumblr media
This is another hall with stairs to the 3rd fl. The description says that it's not finished, but it has potential.
Tumblr media
Beautiful sunporch on the 2nd floor.
Tumblr media
The back of the house is so pretty and it's a fine brick home with a mansard roof. You can see by the shape of the roof and all the windows that there's potential for a finished 3rd floor.

The sun was setting, painting the sky with strokes of orange and pink as she closed her eyes and took a deep breath, her heart fluttering at the thought of the past weekend. The smell of the beach still lingered faintly on her clothes, reminding her of the warmth of Jamie's arms around her, and the sound of the waves crashing in the background as they avoided talking about anything serious. But now, back home in Dallas, she couldn't stop thinking about their whispered admissions in their hotel in Fort Lauderdale.
Her phone buzzed on the desk, jolting her out of her reverie. She picked it up, expecting a message from a client but instead found a text from Jamie.
Miss me already?
Characteristically simple. She couldn't help but smile, her thumbs flying over the screen as she replied.
Depends.
On what?
He shot back, the conversation picking up steam.
Depends on if you're coming to Dallas for Jeremy's wedding.
Already picked up my suit from the cleaners. You're gonna have to work hard to keep your hands off me.
Jamie teased, the anticipation in his message palpable.
I think I'll manage.
She replied, unable to suppress the smirk that danced across her lips as she pictured his cocky grin.
She had been planning to attend Jeremy's wedding herself, one of the other girls at her planning firm was in charge of it and had asked her to help with the setup. The event was at a gorgeous high-class venue, and she had held onto the hope that Jamie would decide to come, even though he hadn't played with him in years. Now it seemed like fate had decided to give them an unexpected opportunity to figure things out.
The weeks flew by in a blur of wedding preparations and late-night texts. The tension between their casual flirtations and the weight of their unspoken feelings grew heavier with each passing day. She found it difficult to focus on anything other than his impending weekend in Dallas, her thoughts often drifting to the towering defenseman who had somehow wormed his way into her heart.
Finally, the day arrived. The venue was a grand hotel, the kind that screamed luxury with every gleaming chandelier and perfectly manicured garden. The air was thick with the scent of roses and champagne, mingling with the occasional whiff of nerves from the wedding party. She was in her element, her eyes darting from the meticulously laid tables to the bustling kitchen, ensuring that every detail was perfect.
The sound of a familiar deep laugh echoed through the hallway, and her stomach did a little flip. She could sense him before she saw him, that magnetic pull that had been there since the first time they met in a situation so similar to this one. His suit was crisp and freshly pressed, the navy blue complimenting the blue of his eyes. As he turned the corner, his gaze landed on her, and she felt the room shrink around them. He walked over, all six feet and seven inches of him, that goofy grin spreading across his face.
"Hey, you look gorgeous, as always," Jamie murmured, leaning in to kiss her cheek, the brush of his beard sending a shiver down her spine. She rolled her eyes but couldn't hide her smile as she walked him over to the guestbook.
"Thanks, I try," she replied, trying to keep her voice light as she handed Jamie the guestbook pen. "I like the blue on you," she said, her eyes lingering on his tie.
"Someone told me it was your favorite color," Jamie said, his eyes sparkling as he fiddled with the pen. He took a step closer, and she felt the heat from his body. The professional inside her took a backseat as she was drawn into his orbit, the scent of his cologne mingling with the floral aroma of the venue.
"Is that so?" she asked, raising an eyebrow playfully. "Who's your source?"
"Just some wedding planner I know," Jamie said, his voice dropping to a whisper as his right hand found its way around her waist. She felt the warmth of his touch and the familiar stirring of desire. "I should thank her for the tip."
"Oh, you should," she murmured, her eyes locked on his. "You can start by signing the guestbook." She stepped back slightly, pointing to the open book with a sickly sweet smile, trying to regain some composure.
Jamie chuckled, signing his name with a flourish. "All the best to the happy couple," he murmured, his hand lingering on the page as he signed his name with that familiar flourish. He glanced around, the other wedding guests chatting and laughing nearby.
"Rig!" a jovial voice called out, breaking the intimate bubble around them. It was one of Jamie's old teammates, slapping him on the back. "I knew I saw your big ass when I walked in. You're not crashing this wedding, are you?"
Jamie laughed, reaching forward for a brief chest-to-chest hug. "No, I was invited actually." He nodded towards the groom, who was busy chatting with relatives. "Specifically to keep an eye on this one," he said, winking at her.
The teammate's gaze slid over to her, a question in his eyes. "Oh, apologies, I didn't catch your name," he said, sticking out a hand.
She replied with her name, taking his hand. "It's nice to meet you," she added, easily slipping into her professional demeanor.
The teammate looked from her to Jamie, a knowing smile playing on his lips. "So, you're the one who's been keeping him busy," he said, nudging Jamie with his elbow. "Girlfriend, then?"
Jamie's hand slid around her waist again, and she instinctively curled into him. "Well, she's a tough one," he quipped, his voice low and teasing. She couldn't help but play along, rolling her eyes. "But I'm working on it," he added softly, just for her to hear.
The coworker she was helping, Teagan, caught the exchange, her eyebrows raising in amusement. "Well, if you two are going to get married, I call dibs on planning your wedding," she said with a laugh, bustling by to manage a minor crisis with a soft tap to her shoulder.
Jamie's teammate laughed, offering a warm 'Nice to see you," and wandering away to find his date, leaving them alone again. She felt the weight of Jamie's arm around her waist, the reality of the situation crashing down. They were standing in a crowded wedding venue, surrounded by the very essence of commitment and love, and here they were, playing a dance of denial with their own feelings.
"So, I'll see you at the reception?" Jamie whispered, his breath tickling her ear as they stepped aside to allow another group of guests access to the guestbook.
"Where else would I be?" she quipped, her voice a blend of tease and nerves. She watched as Jamie's eyes searched hers, processing her words, looking for some sign of what she truly felt. His expression was soft, his gaze lingering, and she knew he was feeling just as torn as she was. "Just don't get drunk without me. I can't drink on the job."
Jamie smirked, his hand sliding down to gently squeeze hers. "I wouldn't dare," he promised, his voice dropping to a murmur. "But maybe I'll save you a dance?"
"Only if things are going smoothly," she teased, trying to ease the sudden tension. She watched him saunter away, his tall frame blending into the crowd of guests.
The wedding went off without a hitch, the bride and groom beaming at each other as they exchanged their vows. Her eyes stole glances at Jamie as she stood out of the immediate sight of the guests. He was seated a few rows back with a couple of former teammates, his eyes occasionally meeting hers with a secret smile.
The reception was a whirlwind of laughter and music. She found herself at the edge of the dance floor, sipping water and watching the festivities unfold. Teagan had everything under control, so she allowed herself to relax a little, her eyes scanning the room for Jamie. She spotted him speaking to the groom's mother, looking surprisingly at ease in the elegant surroundings. His knees bent slightly, his shoulders relaxed as he attempted to ground himself to hear the smaller woman over the music.
By the time she caught sight of him again, she was sitting at a table with Teagan, their conversation a pleasant buzz around her as she picked at her salad. He looked over, his gaze locking onto hers, and she felt a sudden warmth spread through her. Her eyes trailed his figure as he crossed the dance floor, the light reflecting off his shiny black shoes.
Teagan chuckled, leaning in to whisper to her, "Please tell me he's not just a fling. That man looks like he wants to eat you alive."
She smiled at the observation, her eyes still glued to Jamie as he approached. "Well, he's definitely trying to upgrade himself," she admitted, her voice a soft whisper. Teagan raised her eyebrows, looking between the two of them, before nodding knowingly and leaning back in her seat.
When Jamie finally reached the table, he sank into the chair next to her, his hand immediately finding its way to her thigh beneath the table. She giggled, swiping at his hand. "Having fun?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.
"Now I am," Jamie murmured, his eyes locked on hers, the heat of his touch burning through the fabric of her dress. Her breath hitched as she tried to maintain her composure. The music grew distant, the conversations around them fading into a muted hum as their eyes held a silent conversation of their own.
"This is Teagan, by the way," she introduced her friend, breaking the spell. "Teagan, this is my friend, Jamie."
Teagan's eyes sparkled with curiosity as she offered a firm handshake. "You played with Jeremy on the Stars, right?"
"Yeah, we go way back," Jamie said, his eyes not quite leaving hers as he shook Teagan's hand. "You did a great job with the wedding," he told her, his voice sincere. "Everything looks fantastic."
Teagan beamed. "Thanks, I couldn't have done it without this one. She's a great mentor," she said, giving her a warm, sideways glance.
"Mentor?" Jamie raised an eyebrow, his hand sliding a little higher up her thigh, sending a shiver through her. "I didn't know she was nice enough to take on students."
Teagan laughed, shaking her head. "Oh, she has her moments. But she's taught me so much." She turned to her, her smile fading a touch. "Hey, I need to go check on the DJ. You two behave. Don't do anything I wouldn't do."
The moment Teagan walked away, Jamie leaned closer to her. "So, is a quickie off the table too?" he murmured, his breath hot against her ear.
She laughed, eyes sparkling in response to his flirtation. "Just until we figure out what's going on with 'us'," she whispered, unable to quite meet his eye.
Jamie's hand tightened on her leg, his thumb tracing small circles. "Is there an 'us' to figure out?" he asked, his voice thick with hope and a hint of vulnerability that she hadn't heard from him before.
She swallowed hard, the beat of the music seeming to throb in her chest. "I think we both know there's something here," she said, her voice barely audible over the murmur of the party. "But we need to talk about it. I don't want to jump into anything without being sure."
Jamie leaned back in his chair, his hand sliding away from her thigh. He took a deep breath, his eyes searching hers. "Alright," he said, his voice serious. "Let's go for a walk."
"Jamie," she sighed, her heart racing as she took in the sight of him, "I can't just sneak off with you. This is a wedding, and technically, I'm working."
"Come on, hon," Jamie whispered, pushing his chair back with a gentle urgency. "Just for a few minutes. I promise I'll bring you back before anything goes wrong."
"Where could you possibly be taking me?" She asked, her curiosity piqued as she allowed Jamie to pull her up from her seat. She slipped her hand into his, the warmth of his grip grounding her as he led her through the bustling reception, dodging clusters of tipsy guests and the occasional stray child.
"We're not leaving the venue, just finding us some space to talk," Jamie assured her. "You've been asking too many questions tonight, and I need you to just trust me." His voice took on that low, heavy tone that always made her insides melt.
Jamie pushed through the heavy ballroom doors, muttering a, "Goddamn," when the bright fluorescent lights of the hallway slapped him in the face.
She followed as closely as she could, the height difference between them becoming more pronounced when she had to wear heels. His long limbs ate up the space quickly, and she found herself half-running to keep up. The erratic click-clack of her heels echoed through the hallway, contrasting with the steady thud of Jamie's footsteps.
"Jamie," she protested, a laugh escaping as she stumbled in her heels. "You have to slow down if you want me to keep up."
He stopped abruptly, a sheepish grimace crossing his face. "I'm sorry," Jamie said, turning to her with a look of genuine apology. "You okay?"
"Barely," she said, breathless and laughing. "These heels are not made for sprinting."
"We can fix that," Jamie murmured, his voice deep. Before she could respond, he bent down, his hands on her ankles, and began to unbuckle her heels. She watched him, her heart racing as she balanced on one leg and then the other, the cool floor against her stockinged feet a stark contrast to the heat of the moment. She could feel heat bloom through her as his hands brushed her skin, the intimacy of the action setting her on edge.
"What are you doing?" She giggled, trying to balance herself as Jamie knelt before her.
"Making sure you don't break something," he said, his eyes meeting hers with a playful twinkle. "And maybe looking for an excuse to get on my knees for you."
She rolled her eyes, but couldn't help the smirk that played on her lips. "Very smooth, Mr. Oleksiak," she murmured as he slipped her shoes off, setting them aside. "You still haven't told me where we're going."
"Patience," Jamie said, standing with her heels in his left hand, holding out his free right hand to her. She took it, and they continued down the hallway, the music growing fainter with every step. They turned a corner and the hallway opened up into a lush, private garden. The moon cast a soft glow over the manicured lawn, the scent of jasmine filling the air.
"This venue is one of my favorites," she hummed, taking in the serene beauty of the garden. The moon shone down upon them, casting a gentle glow over the well-tended flowers and shrubs. "They always do such a good job with the landscaping."
Jamie's hand tightened around hers as they strolled further into the secluded area. "It's beautiful," he said, but his eyes remained fixed on her, not the surroundings. "But not as beautiful as you."
"Corny," she said with a smile, her heart racing as she felt his eyes on her. But she didn't disagree.
They found a small, secluded bench nestled between a pair of blooming magnolias. The air was cooler out here, the noise of the reception muffled by the walls of the venue. She sat, her dress rustling around her as Jamie took a seat next to her, his hand immediately finding hers again. He cleared his throat, his thumb rubbing over her knuckles.
"So, you're not going to make me wait all night, are you?" she asked, her voice teasing but her eyes searching his, looking for answers.
Jamie took a deep breath, his heart hammering in his chest. "Since we both know we're feeling more than just...benefits...I can't help but wonder if there's something more we should explore." He paused, his thumb still tracing circles on her hand. "I mean, we get along great, we have amazing chemistry, and I just...I can't shake the thought of you."
She felt the weight of his words, her heart swelling in her chest. She studied their joined hands, the contrast of his large, calloused fingers against hers.
"I don't have a fancy speech, and I'm terrible at big romantic gestures," Jamie continued, his voice low and earnest. "But I know that I don't want to keep playing this game, pretending like what we have isn't special. I want to be more than just someone you see whenever I'm in town, or someone that you sext when you're bored." He paused, a soft smile pulling at the corners of his lips as she failed to suppress a laugh. "I want to be the one you come to when you're happy, or sad, or just need someone to take your mind off work. I want to be there for all of it. I want to feel everything with you."
Her eyes searched his face, the seriousness of his expression making her pulse quicken. "Do you wanna ask me something?" She whispered, a hint of amusement in her voice.
Jamie's smile grew, his thumb still drawing lazy circles on her palm. "Well, yeah," he said, his voice thick with nerves. "I wanna know if you're willing to give us a shot. Like, for real. No more playing it safe, no more 'we'll see where it goes'. I want to date you. Only you."
The silence between them was a living thing, pulsing and growing heavier with every beat of her racing heart. She studied his face, the way the moonlight painted shadows on his cheekbones, bringing life to the dark circles under his eyes and illuminating their blues. He was so earnest, so hopeful, it was hard to believe that this was the same cocky hockey player who had swaggered into her life a year ago, all muscles and charm.
"Jamie," she said finally, her voice a soft exhale. "You better be sure about this because if I say yes, you'll never be able to get rid of me."
He leaned in, his hand sliding to cradle her cheek, his thumb tracing the line of her jaw. "I'm sure, baby," he smiled, the warmth in his eyes sending a shiver down her spine. "You've ruined me for anyone else."
She felt a rush of emotion, her heart swelling in her chest as she stared up at him. She leaned into his touch, her hand rising to cover his. "Good," she whispered, closing the space between them.
Their kiss was soft, a gentle exploration of each other's lips that grew in intensity with each passing second. She felt the weight of the decision they'd just made, the gravity of it settling in her bones. It was no longer just a fling, a fun time between the sheets when they could manage it. This was real, and it was terrifying and exciting all at once.
When they pulled away, panting slightly, Jamie's eyes searched hers, looking for confirmation. She couldn't help but grin, her heart feeling lighter than it had in weeks. "So, is that quickie still on the table?" she whispered, her eyes gleaming.
"When I get my hands on you, it's going to be anything but quick," Jamie murmured, his voice thick with promise. "My girlfriend deserves so much more than a quick fuck in a garden."
Her eyes widened at his words, the possessiveness in his tone sending a thrill through her. "Girlfriend," she said, testing the word on her tongue. "I like the sound of that."
Jamie's grin was triumphant. "Good," he said, leaning in to kiss her again. His hand slid from her cheek to the back of her neck, his fingers tangling in her hair as he deepened the kiss. The garden around them disappeared, and it was just the two of them, lost in their own world.

Wedding Season - Jack Harlow x f!reader
Summary: Jack is invited to an old friend’s wedding and he’s been convinced by his friends to bring the girl he hates as his plus one.
Tumblr media
It was a rather chill summer day for Jack. He had gone to the studio earlier in the day which allowed him to have a relaxing rest of the night. So that’s where he was now, chilling in his living room of the apartment he shared with Urban while the both of them ate the takeout they ordered.
Earlier in the month, both boys were invited to an old high school friend’s wedding back in Louisville and neither one of them had the heart to say no despite their busy schedules. Now there was only a couple days until the wedding and Jack felt like an absolute loser for not having a date.
“You bringing anyone to Colton’s wedding?” Jack asked Urban before he scooped up a mouthful of mashed potato to eat.
Urban couldn't help but smile. “You know how I started talking to Nia again?” Jack nodded, showing that he was listening as he chewed. “Yeah...invited her as my plus one...gonna try to make things official with her after the wedding,” he explained.
Jack groaned, “fuck outta here, man. You letting me ride solo on this one?” he half joked in question. Urban only shrugged with a laugh. “Not my fault you ain't got anyone at the moment...or you know...you could always ask y/n to be your date,” he suggested cautiously.
Upon hearing that, Jack scoffed. “Bro--y’all gotta stop bringing her up I swear,” he muttered. “We have never and will never get along,” he persisted arrogantly.
“She’s Nia’s best friend--”
“And what does that have to do with me?” Jack asked in annoyance. “You just want to get on Nia’s good side but I’m the one that’s gonna end up suffering.”
Urban furrowed his brows before he scoffed. “You’re so fucking dramatic bro. I don't even understand what happened for you to hate her so much,” he tsked. “It’s like you were in love with her one minute during high school--wanting to ask her out for junior prom-- and the next you hated her guts. But whatever man. If you wanna be the hottest rapper out there and still not be able to cop a date then that’s up to you,” he shrugged.
Jack rolled his eyes before he let out a defeated sigh. “I’ll think about it...but no fuckin’ promises,” he mumbled.
__
You stood in front of the mirror, staring and picking apart your appearance in the dress you had chosen for Colton and Grace’s wedding. It was an outdoor wedding and so you dressed in a simple silk-like dress that hugged your body perfectly and the colour complementing your beautiful and glowing skin. Despite knowing you looked good, you couldn’t help but be nervous.
“You need to stop picking apart your look,” Nia spoke up matter of factly, noticing your nerves, as she applied her gloss. She looked absolutely stunning as well, her dress choice also being the most perfect look for her. Urban was going to be hella impressed to say the least.
You let out a sigh. “I’m not I’m just--I don’t understand why Jack asked me to be his plus one,” you frowned. “I feel like it’s some cruel prank,” you mumbled, smoothing down your dress anxiously.
“Well I mean people change,” Nia pointed out. “So give it a chance. Maybe this is him trying to make amends,” she offered, ever the optimist. “Now come on! We’re gonna be late!” she exclaimed, grabbing hold of your hand before the both of you stumbled out of the apartment with your heels clicking behind you.
As you arrived to the venue, you were in complete awe of the setup. It was beautiful--from the grand archway, down to the details in the flowers that stood as centrepieces on each table.
You took in a breath as you scanned the venue, noting how you were met with familiar faces from your high school days. “This...is gonna be a long ass day. I can already tell,” you whined, your friend humming in agreement.
“There’s Urban,” Nia breathed out with love struck eyes, causing you to giggle. “Ooooh your man looks good,” you teased, causing her to blush madly. “Shut up,” she mumbled while still blushing. “He’s not officially my man...yet.”
When Urban finally set eyes on you and Nia, he started approaching with Jack dragging behind him reluctantly. Truth be told he was nervous. He hadn’t seen you in quite some time and the last time he spoke to you, it was full of hostility.
Urban immediately pulled Nia aside, whispering in her ear and complimenting her in all the ways he should, leaving you and Jack standing alone.
“Hey,” he mumbled in greeting. “You uh...you look nice...I guess.”
You smile awkwardly and begin to anxiously play around with the rings on your fingers. “Thanks. So do you.”
As the night progressed, the tension between Jack and you seemed to linger in the air. Despite the polite exchanges and forced smiles, there was an underlying current of animosity that couldn't be ignored. It was as if both of you were tiptoeing around a minefield, waiting for the first explosion to occur.
After dinner, the DJ started playing a slow, romantic song, and couples began to take the dance floor. Nia and Urban shared a loving glance before swaying together, lost in their own world. Feeling a mix of discomfort and curiosity, you and Jack found yourselves standing near each other.
Jack cleared his throat. “Do you want to dance?” he asked. You shook your head. “Not really,” you responded quietly, causing Jack to audibly scoff. “God you’re such a bitch,” he muttered, running his hands through his curls. “I don’t know why I’m even trying.”
Your eyes widened as you took full offence. “I’m the bitch?! Oh I’m sorry for not wanting to dance with the guy who’s always been an asshole to me! If I remember correctly--you’re the one who blocked me out of the blue!”
“Don’t act like you don’t know why y/n.”
You scoffed. “Actually why don’t you enlighten me because I don’t remember ever doing anything to you to make you hate me so much! I liked you and I thought the feelings were mutual—”
“They were until I overheard you telling your friends you thought I was ugly and that I was stupid for trying to pursue a rap career,” he mumbled.
Hearing that made your heart sink to your stomach. “Jack,” you sighed. “You weren’t supposed to hear that,” you say softly. “Because I didn’t actually mean any of that—”
“Then why did you say it?” he asked, his voice quiet and almost quivering. “I really fucking liked you and I know I always played it off like I’m a confident motherfucker but that crushed me.”
Your heart absolutely broke at hearing his confession. “Oh Jack—I only said that because Tina was a bitch and she noticed you and me getting closer and she started saying that someone as likeable and popular as you wouldn’t romantically go for someone like me. She also said that the two of you had started hooking up and it wasn’t long before you would’ve started dating so I had to back off and the only way to protect myself in front of her was to make it seem like I never cared about you from the start,” you explained softly.
“She’s a liar. I never fucked around with her like that—”
“Yeah well how was I supposed to know?! She was the blonde skinny popular white girl—and I was me—I guess it just made sense to me,” you sighed.
Jack groaned, “well that was up to me to decide don’t y’a think? God—I just wish you would’ve just told me or something.”
“Yeah well can’t change the past now,” you muttered sarcastically under your breath but loud enough for him to hear.
Jack licked his lips in thought before a small smirk started to make its way onto his lips. “You’re right…but we can definitely influence the future,” he hummed, taking your hand and pulling you onto the dance floor.
The slow romantic song was still playing so he took the opportunity to take both your hands and place them on his broad shoulders before his own rested against your hips, leading the dance with gentle sways.
Your cheeks were on fire at the entire interaction, but you welcomed it easily, thankful that he was the one that was able to take charge.
The both of you swayed in silence, you choosing to look anywhere but his eyes while he stared intently at you, loving the chance to admire you up close.
“Jack…I really am sorry. I never meant to hurt you,” you whispered, the guilt eating you alive.
“I don’t think I stressed enough earlier how beautiful you look,” he mused, looking down at you with his charming smile.
You can’t help your own smile making its way onto your lips. “Jack.”
“Y/N,” he mocked back teasingly.
“I was being serious!” you laughed.
Jack rolled his eyes playfully. “Isn’t it obvious that I forgive you already?” he asked with a raised brow, his hands giving your hips a squeeze.
You shrugged. “Just want the confirmation.”
“If you let me kiss you would that be enough confirmation?”
“Yes,” you whispered timidly, a blush overtaking your cheeks.
As the words left your lips, Jack wasted no time in closing the distance between you. His hand cupped your cheek gently, his touch sending a shiver down your spine. And then, his lips met yours in a soft, tender kiss.
Time seemed to stand still as you melted into the embrace, the animosity of the past melting away with every lingering touch. The world around you faded into the background as Jack deepened the kiss, his other hand finding its way to the small of your back, pulling you closer.
When you finally pulled away, breathless and with flushed cheeks, Jack rested his forehead against yours, a contented smile gracing his lips. "I've wanted to do that for so long," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper.
A genuine smile spread across your face as you looked into his eyes, seeing a mixture of vulnerability and hope. "I wish I had been honest with you from the beginning," you confessed. "But I promise, I'll make it up to you."
Jack's smile widened, and he brushed his thumb gently across your cheek. "I believe you," he said softly. "We both made mistakes, but we can start fresh--starting with a proper first date?"
“I’d like that a lot.”

I have a headcanon that in any universe where Shadowheart saves her parents and later gets married, all her friends go to comically-ridiculous lengths to Shar-proof the wedding venue so she can't ruin Shadowheart's special day. And idk this just seems like it fits the NLS vibe so I had to tell you about it.
Omg I love that 🥹
I think it would be really sweet if everyone banded together to Shar-proof the wedding!
Gale with warding spells/glyphs on the perimeter, Wyll with his fancy Baldurian security detail for extra hands on deck, Karlach bringing her good axe just in case 👀, Lae’zel running a perimeter check and criticizing their “extremely exposed and incompetently planned” setup…. Jaheira bringing some Harpers….
Tbh I think it would be the ultimate comedic disaster if Sharrans actually did show up to cause problems and everyone just frantically scrambles to stop all their attempts without Shadowheart and Tav ever catching wind of their presence at the wedding.
Like, they’re taking their vows, completely oblivious to the fact that a literal assassin is getting dragged off behind some bushes by Lae’zel.
Shadowheart goes to cut Tav a piece of (poisoned) cake and Karlach takes one for the team by “falling” into the entire thing, rendering it inedible.
The musicians playing loudly, Shadowheart and Tav swaying together blissfully as Withers absolutely decimates an entire group of Sharrans into a pile of bone and dust, just outside of view.
Astarion stumbling back to the dancing area with blood on the corner of his mouth and when they ask what he found to eat a little suspiciously he just shrugs like “…a very large rat…?🙄”
Anyway yeah lol I love the idea! I think it’d be a fun way for everyone to show their appreciation for their favorite cleric 🥹💕 and Tav and Shadowheart really do deserve a night off!!!

[Ringing the Bell of Blessings With You] - Chloe SSR Card Story Translation
Tumblr media
Ft. Arthur and Akira (Western wizards mentioned)
Bonds Tied With a Ribbon - Chapter 1
[Estate Courtyard]
Tumblr media
Akira: I’m glad the wedding ceremony was a success.
Arthur: I agree. Things were a bit rough in the middle, but everything came together in the end. The ceremony itself was absolutely gorgeous.
Chloe: The decorations up at the venue and all around town were beautiful as well… Not to mention the bride and groom’s attire! Their outfits really brought out their best features!
Chloe: Gosh, I hope I can make an outfit like that someday, one as bright and beautiful as the person wearing it.
Arthur: I’m certain you will. Even the outfits we have on now are perfect.
Arthur: You know Chloe, if I were to ever marry, and I’m allowed to choose my own tailor, could I leave my wedding suit to you?
Chloe: Huh!? For real!? Like, for real for real!?
Akira: That sounds like a wonderful idea! Wearing something made by a friend would make your special day even more special.
Chloe: It’d be such an honor…! I wonder how it should look?
Chloe: Arthur works well with a traditional style, but maybe I should go for something a little more personal and out-of-the-box!
Chloe: Ohh, I just can’t decide, but if there’s one thing it needs, it’s gotta be ribbons!
Akira: That sounds like a good start! I’m sure it’ll look lovely.
Arthur: There are ribbons on these outfits too. Do they mean anything?
Chloe: Yep! I learned about this while traveling through the Western Country…
Chloe: In one of the towns we stopped in, ribbons were used in a ceremony meant to strengthen bonds as a symbol of tying people together.
Chloe: I thought that’d be perfect for you since you’re always working hard to improve the relationship between humans and wizards!
Arthur: Chloe…
Arthur: Thank you so much…! I truly appreciate how much thought you put into this.
Akira: Ribbons as a symbol of strong bonds… What a lovely idea.
Chloe: Right? Actually, they became a trend among Western wizards for a while…
Chloe: Even now there’s a bar game related to it!
Akira: Ohh, is that what the Western wizards were doing with all those ribbons the other day?
Chloe: Yep!
Chloe: The rules are everyone takes turns professing their love, and at the end of the round, we vote for whomever had the best lines by tying a ribbon around their pinky finger.
Chloe: The person with the most ribbons at the end wins the game.
Akira: Well that explains why you all had so many! Who ended up winning?
Chloe: About that… We got a little carried away with tying the ribbons, and lost count of the actual score.
Arthur: Ah, so that’s why Murr was somersaulting through the dining hall the other day yelling something about a ribbon from Shylock.
Arthur: What an interesting game. It seems like a good way to improve your relationships with others too.
Chloe: Right? That’s why it became so popular in the first place.
Chloe: …Hey since today is all about celebrating bonds, why don’t we play it too?
Akira: I’d love to!
Arthur: Count me in as well. I would never pass up an opportunity to get to know someone better.
Chloe: Yippee! I’ll get everything setup then!
Opening his magical sewing kit, Chloe took out a handful of ribbons from inside.
Arthur: These work perfectly for the game.
Akira: We’re supposed to profess our feelings, right? I’m getting nervous, but I’ll do my best…!
Chloe: I can’t wait to hear what you’ll say! Alright, since it looks like we’re all ready, I’ll go first!
Bonds Tied With a Ribbon - Chapter 2
Chloe: I’ll go first!
Chloe: “I can’t help but feel envious whenever you wear clothes made by someone else.”
Chloe: “Forgive me, but could you only wear my designs from now on?”
Chloe: Ehehe, how’d I do?
Arthur: I could really feel the passion in your words. If it were me, I’d probably end up saying yes.
Akira: You were a lot bolder than usual too. It really got my heart racing.
Chloe: To let you in on a secret, Rustica and Shylock helped me with that one.
Chloe: Although they told me that using someone’s name and addressing them directly would make it even more effective.
Arthur: It’ll be hard for me to beat the three of you combined, but I’ll definitely give it a try. Ahem…
Arthur: “Didn’t you know, darling? You’re mine, all mine. I’m holding you tight and never letting go.”
Akira: Whoa…! Hearing you act all possessive is making me flustered!
Arthur: I wanted to go for a “gap moe” approach like the former Sage taught me and decided to use one of Bradley’s pick-up lines.
Chloe: Way to go, Arthur! You really played into your strengths there!
Chloe: I bet you could give Rustica some real competition in the “I Love You” game!
Akira: The two of you did that so easily… Is there a trick to it?
Chloe: Hmm… Well, what would make you happy to hear? Whatever it is, I’m sure it’d work on us too!
Akira: (What I'd like to hear…?)
Keeping Chloe’s words in mind, I opened my mouth.
Akira: When I first came to this world, I had no idea what was happening, but the two of you reached out to me anyway. Thanks to that, we can have fun just like we're doing now. I love you guys.
Akira: …Was that alright?
I hesitantly watched the two of them for a reaction. They looked at each other for a second, then burst into laughter as if someone had tickled them, before taking my hands.
Chloe: That was amazing…! I love you too, Master Sage!
Arthur: Just as Chloe said, I owe you my thanks for always thinking of us.
Akira: Thank goodness… I was so nervous, but I’m glad my message got through to you.
Overcome with relief, I began to laugh as well, and now it was Arthur and Chloe’s turn to look sheepish.
Chloe: That’s everyone then. Who will be the winner of this round...
Arthur: I’ve already decided.
Chloe: Me too!
Akira: That was quick! Who managed to steal your hearts?
Chloe: Well… <<Suisipicibo Voitingoc>>
Arthur: <<Pernoctant Nixzo>>
The two of them cast their spells and…
In the next moment, a red and a blue ribbon tied themselves around my pinky finger.
Chloe: Our winner is you, Master Sage!
Akira: M- Me!? But why…?
Arthur: It didn’t matter who we were talking to. Our lines had a fair chance of making anyone swoon.
Akira: Oh, I get it now… The difference is that I addressed the two of you specifically.
Chloe: Which made me really happy!
Chloe: Hey, can we play again? I wanna say something to you guys too!
Arthur: I agree. There are several things I’d like to say.
Akira: Ahaha, I wish I could be as forward as you two, but I’ll keep doing my best!
Bonds Tied With a Ribbon - Chapter 3
Chloe: I had so much fun playing that game!
Akira: We probably could’ve kept going forever too if Figaro hadn’t called Arthur over. It’s funny how we all tied in the end.
Chloe and I walked through the gardens, laughing as we talked about the game.
Akira: You two could’ve given me a heart attack with how intense your lines were.
Chloe: Ehehe, I felt the same way. It was giving me goosebumps.
Akira: I absolutely understand what people mean now when they say the game strengthens your relationships.
Akira: Didn’t you say it originated from a ceremony in the West…?
Akira: Does that one involve exchanging passionate confessions too?
Chloe: Umm, that one’s a little different. It goes something more like this…
Akira: …!
Chloe suddenly kneeled before me, the long hem of his jacket fluttering in the wind before it hit the ground.
As I froze in shock, he reached out with a white-gloved hand and grasped mine, his violet gaze meeting my eyes.
Chloe: Master Sage. Thank you for always keeping me in your thoughts.
Chloe: Because of this precious bond you’ve forged between us, like tying a ribbon around our hearts, all of us can spend each day in happiness with one another.
Akira: Chloe…
Chloe: I want to stay with you forever.
Chloe: To ensure our bond never falls apart… I’ll gift this red ribbon to you.
Akira: Ah…
Taking a glossy red ribbon, Chloe tied it around my pinky finger.
His eyes glimmered with happiness as he pulled the bow taut and leaned his forehead in.
Chloe: …Ehehe, that was a little embarrassing, but I wanted to show you what the real ceremony was like.
Akira: I- I see…! That certainly got my heart racing…
Chloe: Right?
Chloe: Rustica was the one who taught me about this…
Chloe: I was on the receiving end that time, and it was super nerve wracking. I was sure my chest would explode.
Akira: I really appreciated hearing your thoughts though…
Akira: I’d love to tie a bond with someone too... Although I’m sure I’ll be just as nervous on the giving end.
Chloe: Do you have someone you’d like to gift a ribbon to?
Akira: Of course! I’d love to give one to every single one of you!
Chloe: All of us!? I’d love that!
Chloe: I’m always happy to receive something from you! And when that time comes…
Chloe gently held up the ribbon tied around my pinky and blushed.
Chloe: Could you start with me? I want your very first ribbon, Akira.
 Akira: …! Of course! I’d be happy to!
Chloe: Ehehe, thank you so much! I was so worried you would say no, but I’m glad I asked!
With his cheeks still a rosy red, Chloe smiled.
Seeing the expression on his face, I knew that this was a bond I wanted to last forever.
Beware of Western Games - Card Episode
Akira: Afternoon, Chloe. I found this ribbon on the floor of the common room. Is it yours?
Chloe: Oh wow, thanks for finding it! I’ve been looking everywhere for it since I noticed it was missing earlier.
Akira: It’s no problem at all. This brings back memories of that game we played the other day.
Chloe: Right? All of us were pretty fired up about winning, but that’s what made it fun.
Akira: Are there any other bar games that Western wizards play?
Chloe: Several actually! The one I remember most is “Tryst of Numbers”. We played it at Bar Bennett with some of the other guests.
Akira: What’s that?
Chloe: Typically the game is played with a deck of enchanted cards that are laid out on a table facedown, and you have to match the pairs…
Akira: (My world has similar memory games doesn’t it…?)
Chloe: If you guess wrong, the numbers will levitate off the card and attack you.
Akira: Wait… Attack you!?
Chloe: Oh, don’t worry! It’s only a prick, so it doesn’t hurt.
Akira: (That doesn’t reassure me in the slightest…)
Chloe: What you really need to watch out for is the penalty if you lose…
Akira: W- What does that entail…?
Chloe: Well…
Chloe: No, it’s too much, I can’t say! I’m sorry!
Chloe: You won’t have to worry about us…
Chloe: But if any other Western wizard invites you to play, tell me right away! I’ll take your place!
Akira: O- Okay! I’ll keep that in mind.
Akira: (What in the world could they be doing…)
Home Screen Voice Line
“Rutile told me that in the Southern Country, people often swear their love beneath the open sky…! Since most weddings in the West are held indoors, I wonder what an outdoor one would be like. I’d love to know more about wedding traditions from other countries, especially since we have representatives from all over at the manor. Someday, I'd want my wedding to be the best of the best for my beloved.”

Not So Berry (Straud Descendants) Gen 9
Today's (8/30/2024) Episode: Preparing To Wed
Luigi woke up the day of his wedding still pondering what to tell his son about the watcher, but seeing Noemi refocused his priorities.
He gave his girl a big hug and a kiss good morning. “It’s taken us a long time to get here, but I’m so excited to finally make this thing official.”
“Honey” she replied laughing “I think, wedding rings or not, we’ve been “official” for awhile now.” She gave him a serious look. “I thought I’d feel jitters worse than before my first wedding, having had it fall apart on me once already, but I’ve been more and more excited to marry you every day.”
Her man gave her one last tender kiss and headed off to cook up some breakfast while she gave Skye a bath. “You are going to smell so nice for your sleepover with Auntie Isra and Uncle Rhys.” she told him. “E-Lee! E-Lee!” he cheerfully chanted, clearly looking forward to seeing his playmate, Elyse.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once everyone was clean and fed it was time to deliver all the non wedding participants to their various temporary homes, as Noemi and Luigi would be heading off on their honeymoon immediately after the ceremony.
Their first stop was just down the beach to deliver Skye and Blossom to Isra and Rhys. Beau and Breanne had planned to host Blossom so she could visit her kitten, but Beau’s delivery of their new daughter Betty hadn’t gone as smoothly as that of his firstborn. He was still recovering from some post surgical complications, and Breanne bowed out of the added responsibility of another cat on top of a newborn, toddler, and ailing husband.
“Thank you, again, for taking both of them” Noemi told the pair as Luigi got everyone settled “Its our pleasure” Isra replied “I’m sure Elyse will love having a cat and especially a friend her own age around. She gets so frustrated that the twins are still too small to really play games with her.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The couples next stop required donning their cold weather gear. Arriving in Galloping Gulch Amaya launched herself at the bride-to-be “🎶Someone’s Getting Married🎶” she sang “and I get to be in the wedding! You sure you can deal with that hot stuff?”
“All good” Luigi called back from the porch, rolling his eyes as he gave her husband a briefing about all of Roach’s preferences and fears. He was sure Noemi was likewise filling Amaya in on the needs of her “four-legged baby”, but he’d actually come to care for his little “mascot” quite a bit and wanted to ensure he would be well taken care of and happy until they returned.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With all their babies settled, the pair returned to the beach, arriving early to ensure their waterfront venue was perfectly prepared.
A couple special guests were there to greet them when they arrived. Neither Jack nor Peachy were going to miss their boy's big day and both were equally excited to be a part of the “prep crew”.
While Noemi filled Peachy in on Skye’s latest culinary explorations Luigi practically bowled his Papa over in his excitement to see him and tie the knot. “It’s really happening!” he cried, earning himself a fatherly grin. “Congratulations! Noemi’s a great gal, and it’s obvious you two are very happy.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once everyone had a chance to say hello Noemi headed over to the ceremony space to check that everything was setup correctly.
Luigi, who after much discussion had gotten his fiancée’s permission to film the whole thing, fired up Yoshi and headed down to a nearby fishing hole with his dads. They were collecting a fresh, locally sourced (and Luigi diet approved), seafood feast for dinner.
Luigi was all smiles as he helped fish up their meal. The general distaste he’d developed in young adulthood for getting up close and personal to the slimy denizens of the sea barely detracted from the joy he felt getting to spend quality time with his dada and papa once again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When they'd decided they had enough fish to feed their guests it was time to turn their catch into something delicious.
Jack and Peachy met up with Anderson, who was providing the vegetable side dishes, inside the kitchen pavilion to get started on their contributions, while Luigi got his own dish started on the firepit before joining the others to whip up a fresh batch of Kava.
His wedding day had barely begun and already Luigi was feeling on top of the world.

Tumblr media
November 30, 2024
"Tell me it's there, at the house," said Bucky, as he spoke to Janice on the phone.  "I'm sure I last saw it on the dresser in the bedroom.  NO, don't let Tracey know I forgot it.  Just make sure you bring it with you when the limousine brings you to the hall.  Sam will be waiting at the main door to take it from you.  As long as we have it before the ceremony."
He hung up and bent his head.  How could he forget the marriage license?  Other than himself and his tux it was the only other thing he had to remember as Sam had the ring.  He felt Sam's hand on the back of his shoulder.
"Janice found it?" he asked.
Bucky nodded.  "Still can't believe I left it there yesterday.  How do people who get married more than once do it?  I'm a wreck and this is the only marriage I hope to ever have."
"Don't sweat it, Buck," said Sam.  "I'm sure I'll be a basket case on my wedding day.  You know I'm really happy for you.  Tracey's an incredible woman and you two have such a bond."
"She is," sighed Bucky.  "How lucky was I to meet her right on my front step?"
"It was meant to happen," replied his friend.  "I believe that.  After all the shit that went wrong in your life karma was bound to look kindly on you at some point."
Bucky smirked.  "Too bad I don't believe in that.  You're picking us up from the hotel tomorrow and taking us to the airport, right?"  Sam nodded.  "I've given you the location of the beach house and I'll have my cell phone with me.  If anything happens to Rebecca, you just text Brooklyn and we'll get on the next flight back."
"Nothing is going to happen," soothed Sam, knowing it was Bucky's anxiety talking.  "She's healthy, walking like a champ, and with Janice and I staying at the house and her aides coming during the day we've got her needs covered.  You can have a great honeymoon."
"I just worry, you know?" said Bucky.  "If ever there was a time for Rebecca to get sick it would be now.  Not to mention the complete disappearance of Ross and Fontaine has me concerned.  Even Walker hasn't heard from them."
"Rhodey is on top of it," replied his partner.  "If either of them shows their faces around your sister they'll be arrested, immediately.  We’ve done all we could to prepare for anything. Now let's finish getting ready and get over to the venue for the best day of your life."
Nodding his acceptance of Sam's ministrations Bucky buttoned up his dress shirt and tried to put the bow tie on.  After the third try Sam came over and did it right the first time.  Next came the jackets and both men made sure nothing was out of place before packing their bags and leaving one at the front desk.  Bucky's would be transferred to the bridal suite while Sam would take his with him in Tracey's car which he would drive after the reception.  Both men headed down to the car and were soon at the Metropolitan Ballroom where Bucky nervously walked through the setup for the ceremony.  Pepper was already there with Happy keeping Morgan occupied while she spoke to the facility manager.
"We think alike," she said to the nervous dark-haired Avenger.  "I walked through as well and couldn't find anything out of place."
He blushed and coughed nervously.  "I just keep thinking of everything that could go wrong."
"Nothing will, Bucky, and even if it does, you're with friends," she said soothingly.  "Where's Sam?"
"Waiting out front for the limo," he replied, blushing again.  "I forgot the licence."
"There you go, that's likely the worst thing that will happen today," she said.  "I take it the ladies will bring it?"
"Janice will," answered Bucky.  "I didn't want Tracey or Rebecca to know."
An errant strand of hair hung over Bucky's forehead as he had grown it out a little, so it didn't look so severe for the wedding ceremony.  With a smile Pepper brushed it off of his face.
"That tuxedo looks really good on you," she said.  "You could have been a model."
He smirked.  "Sure, the swimsuit photos would be a hit.  Bucky is wearing vibranium arm by Wakanda, along with swim trunks by Walmart."
Pepper squeezed his flesh arm.  "You still look good in a tuxedo.  Tracey will look stunning in her gown, I promise."
"Sorry," he ducked his head.  "It's just anxiety.  I was never like this when I was young but the PTSD just does something to a man."
"It's alright," she replied softly.  "Tony had his own PTSD issues.  On our wedding day he hyperventilated almost to the point of passing out but ten minutes later he was back on his game.  You'll be fine, really."
Guests were starting to arrive and she shooed Bucky to wait in the small vestibule set up for him.  Rhodey and Torres came back to see him, standing with him for several minutes but eventually they left him alone where he waited until Sam came in and handed him the marriage licence.
"How does Tracey look?" he asked his friend.
"Beautiful," replied Sam.  "Rebecca looks twenty years younger.  So does Janice for that matter.  Rhodey will be blown away."
Bucky looked sharply at him.  "I know they danced a lot together at the engagement party but is he interested in her?"
Sam shrugged slightly.  "I talked to him a couple of times since then and he asked me about her, mostly about whether her divorce had gone through yet.  You know he wouldn't hurt her."
"I know but she's just got through a long abusive marriage," replied Bucky.  "It's her call but I think she should wait before jumping into another relationship."
"You're right, it is her call," said Sam, bluntly.  "I think she's adjusting well."
The officiant came into the vestibule and asked for the license.  With Sam grinning at him Bucky pulled it out of his jacket's inside pocket and handed it to him.  The man left to check on the bride's readiness and returned a few minutes later.
"Gentlemen," he said.  "They're ready and I believe everyone is here."
Sam stuck his hand out and shook Bucky's hand, then patted him on the shoulder.  He left as he would escort Rebecca up the aisle.  Even though she walked the distance by herself at the rehearsal the night before both Bucky and Sam felt more secure if he supported her.  With a nod the officiant led Bucky out to the square arch covered in roses and chrysanthemums.  Tracey had chosen the song for the processional and asked for the original recording of it, a song by a group called Chicago from 1970.  Called Colour My World, Bucky could see why she chose it as it was slow enough for the walk but had lyrics that were meaningful to them both.  He liked it so much that he suggested they print out the lyrics on a keepsake card for themselves, intending to get it framed after they got back from their honeymoon.  As the opening piano sequence started he took a deep breath and looked to the beginning of the aisle where Sam and Rebecca appeared.
She did look twenty years younger.  With Rebecca's hair, makeup, and the cut of the steel blue dress with a necklace borrowed from Pepper Stark making her look like a movie star, she walked confidently on Sam's arm, smiling at her brother.  A chair was provided for her to sit in, but she chose to stand, her face radiant.  Then he turned to see Tracey and her mother, arm in arm, walking towards him.  Wearing an ivory coloured gown with lace over the bodice and down into the skirt, Tracey wore a sheer veil that didn't hide the big smile on her face.  As the processional song wound down the pair made it to him, and Janice kissed her daughter over the veil then placed her hand in Bucky's before kissing him on the cheek and kissing Rebecca after.
"Dear friends, we are here today to witness the joining of Tracey Harris and Bucky Barnes," began the officiant.  "I've only had the pleasure of their acquaintance for the past month, while most of you have known one or the other through various means, with a select group witnessing the development of their relationship since they met just seven months ago.  They are truly suited to each other, devoted to the other's wellbeing, full of understanding and empathy for the one they love.  Before we begin the proceedings is there any reason why this couple should not be joined in marriage?  Speak now or forever hold your peace."
There had been a concern that Marty Harris, Tracey's father was looking for the location of their wedding to interfere, but if he did find out he certainly wasn't there to say anything.  The officiant asked the couple to face each other and he continued.
"Marriage is more than just saying vows to each other.  You have a lifetime ahead of you to find happiness together, to find the good things in life to share with each other, to find humour and joy in your daily interactions, to comfort one another, and to seek forgiveness and solace when you are troubled.  Love will prevail if you allow it to, and it will always make you stronger.  You'll enter this marriage as individuals but will leave here today as a bonded pair, husband and wife.  It is a great adventure that will require patience and sometimes sacrifice to put the good of the other before your own.  Your friends and family are part of this adventure as they witness you commit yourselves to each other today, as they will support you in your marriage in the future.  The question we all ask of you today is do you both agree to proceed with the exchange of vows and rings to seal the bond between you?"
"We do," replied Bucky and Tracey in unison.
"Bucky, will you say your vows and present the ring to your bride as a symbol of your bond?"
Bucky nodded and took a deep breath.  "From the moment I saw you on the front step, when you first touched my heart, I knew I wanted a life with you.  I didn't know your name or anything about your life but I saw in your eyes something warm and soft that I had been searching for.  The two months you spent in Belize, fulfilling your need to distance our professional relationship showed me how principled you were as an individual.  Since then you have shown me your love and support in ways that have made me feel needed and desired.  I promise to be your confidant, to be your faithful husband in thought, word, and deed, at all times, to share all that I am with you, to support and honour you to the best of my abilities."
He turned to Sam who handed the ring to him and he held it at the tip of her ring finger.
"Repeat these words," said the officiant.  "With this ring, I take you, Tracey Wendy Harris, to be my lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward; for better and for worse, for richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish until death us do part."
Bucky repeated it as he slid the ring onto her finger.  Then he smiled at her and they held hands again.
"Tracey, will you say your vows and present the ring to your groom as a symbol of your bond?"
"Yes," she said softly.  "You opened the door to your house that day and it opened my heart to you at the same time.  That was the beginning of falling in love with you, a serious yet compassionate man who just wanted help to look after your sister.  I felt the power of your inner strength immediately and it drew me in as you showed me the kindness that was inherent in you.  That you felt the same for me was evident, and on my return from Belize I knew my future and yours would follow the same path.  I will always believe in you, in your humanity and the good man that you truly are, I will be with you forever as your faithful wife, to be honest and truthful with you, to share a path of love and honour with you for as long as we both live."
She turned to Rebecca who took a ring off her thumb and placed it in Tracey's palm with a smile.  She held it at the tip of his vibranium ring finger.
"It will break," he whispered.
She shook her head.  "Shuri made it out of vibranium.  It will flex with your hand and never break."
He looked into the assembled guests and made out the smiling faces of Queen Shuri and her guards Okoye and Ayo.
"Everything okay?" whispered the officiant.
"It's perfect," replied Bucky.  "Please continue."
"Okay, Tracey, repeat these words," continued the man.  "With this ring, I take you, James Buchanan Barnes, to be my lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward; for better and for worse, for richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish until death us do part."
Bucky watched with amused interest as the gold coloured ring expanded over his finger joint then settled into the gold groove that marked the space between the knuckle and the joint of his ring finger.  He clenched his fist and released it, confirming that the ring flexed with his finger.  For a moment he wondered if Shuri had manufactured it before he became engaged, hoping for him to be married some day.  It just reaffirmed how much he felt obligated to the Wakandans.
Looking at Tracey he could feel the swell of emotion building within him as they both waited for the final words of the ceremony.
"Without further ado," stated the officiant, "I reiterate that Tracey and Bucky have come here today of their own free will, and in the presence of all of you witnesses, by openly declaring their love and commitment to each other.  By the power invested in me by the State of New York, it gives me great pleasure to formally pronounce you husband and wife.  You may now kiss to end the spoken part of the ceremony."
Bucky lifted Tracey's veil off of her face and placed one hand on her neck with the other around her waist.  Pulling her close he pressed his lips to hers in a soft but meaningful kiss that produced many sighs from the assembled guests.  Then he kissed Rebecca while she kissed Sam and the four were directed to a table where they signed the documents that verified the wedding.  While they did so the sounds of Marvin Gaye singing How Sweet It Is to Be Loved by You came over the speakers.  When they finished, they stood before those who were seated.
"It gives me great pleasure to introduce to you Mr. and Mrs. Bucky and Tracey Barnes," announced the officiant.
With applause they stepped onto the carpet runner than walked down the aisle, stopping to kiss or hug those who sat closest.  Sam and Rebecca followed closely.  From the ceremony room the wedding party stood to receive their guests into a place for cocktails and refreshments.  This time they were greeted by everyone as they transferred into the next room.  After about ten minutes of welcoming people Rebecca sat on a chair, mostly to be certain she retained enough stamina for the rest of the evening.
When Shuri, Okoye and Ayo approached the wedding couple Bucky looked at the young queen / scientist with some scrutiny.
"I wasn't sure you were coming," he said.  "You didn't exactly give us a reply."
"Sergeant Barnes, there was never any doubt in my mind that we were coming," said the regal young woman.  "Especially since I learned of attempts to force you into your previous profession, partly to assist certain individuals in satisfying their corporate masters."  He looked at her with some surprise.  "Oh yes, we know of Thaddeus Ross, and Valentina de Fontaine's plans with the former Secretary of State.  But we will speak of it with others, including your President, while you are enjoying your honeymoon."
"When did you make the ring?" he asked.  "We only sent the invitations four weeks ago."
"It was always our hope that you would find a life partner," interrupted Okoye.  "King T'Challa ordered its creation at the time of the arm's manufacture.  The ring was devised to become part of your prosthetic, never to be forced off by anyone against your will.  It is a symbol of what we hope your marriage will be; a union between two loves that will stand the test of time."
"Then I owe even more to Wakanda for having that hope for me, because it wasn't until I met my wife that I began to hope that for myself."
"We always had hope for you, Sergeant," added Shuri, softening her tone, then turned her gaze to Tracey.  "Mrs. Barnes, you have bonded with an extraordinary man, whose loyalty to those he cares about is unmatched."
Tracey strengthened her hold on Bucky's arm.  "I learned that quickly," she said.  "He is my champion, in so many ways.  Thank you for coming.  It means a lot to both of us."
All three women gave a respectful dip of their heads in response and went on to join the group gathered around Rhodes.  In truth, he had notified the Wakandans early on about the speculation of the reasons behind Ross's and Fontaine's activities.  When he was given the green light to formally reassemble the Avengers Shuri was one of the first people he contacted, as he considered she would inherit more than the throne.  It was also the young queen's intent to visit the newcomer's centre as she had been impressed with Bucky's involvement with the agency set up to assist refugees and immigrants from around the world to adapt to western living.  Considering the number of refugees that came from African countries she wanted to know for herself how they had been treated, and like Pepper Stark, was contemplating further assistance to the group.
After the last person had been greeted by the wedding party Bucky got a scotch for himself and a glass of white wine for Tracey, while Sam got himself a beer and wine for Rebecca.  They visited with everyone until the announcement that dinner was ready.  After everyone was seated and the wedding party announced dinner was served, with those who had identified as Muslim receiving a halal meal.  They also made sure African dishes were on the menu which the three Wakandans noticed and approved of.  Once everyone had eaten their fill a break was called to make the vaulted hall ready for the dance.
The dozen member band that played at their engagement party had swelled to sixteen, including a woman singer who would share singing duties with one of the musicians.  When they set up, the piano player, as the de facto leader of the band, took the mike for just a moment to address the guests.
"Since we last played in that little jazz club, word got out about a guy who absolutely loves jazz and blues classics from the 1930s and 1940s," he began.  "Don't worry, we'll play some newer stuff as well but we had several people approach us to get involved in the performance at this guy's wedding.  We've had a blast rehearsing for it and it's safe to say we've had some interest in putting on a concert here and there so it looks like getting together as a one time band is expanding to become a regular occurrence for us in the future.  We have Bucky Barnes to thank for that, or more precisely the man who originally approached us on Bucky's behalf, Captain America himself, Sam Wilson.  So let's get this dance off the ground by inviting the happy couple up for their first dance as newlyweds, to the Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong version of The Nearness of You."
He looked to the drummer who counted it down and they began playing.  Bucky had the biggest grin on his face as he twirled Tracey around the floor.  The woman singer had the most beautiful clear voice, while the musician who took on the Louis Armstrong vocals had the same gravelly intonation of the legendary singer / musician.  By the looks on the faces of the band members and guests who were watching, the song was enjoyed on many levels.  When the band began playing more of the older classics the dance floor became crowded with people enjoying the music that Bucky and to a lesser extent, Rebecca had grown up enjoying.  Just like at the engagement party she danced with a lot of different men, charming all of them with her enthusiasm.  When she got tired she sat and watched, clapping along with the beat.
Bucky, who danced mostly with his new wife, relived much of his youth with the sounds of the band and the lights of the ballroom.  Everything about it was enjoyed by him and by extension, Tracey.  When the band played I Only Have Eyes for You, she whispered in Bucky's ear.
"We should go," she said, knowing only he could hear it with his superior hearing.  "I have some things in mind for you."
Placing his mouth next to her ear he replied just loudly enough for her to hear.  "Mrs. Barnes, that's awfully forward of you.  What would people think?"
She looked at him with her eyes so full of love.  "They would think it's about time we got out of here."
Placing her hand on his cheek he lowered his head to hers and kissed her gently, then he nodded.  They both left the dance floor and came over to Sam who was sitting with Rebecca and Amina.
"Oh Mr. Bucky, what a wonderful time my husband and I have had at our first American wedding," she said, with enthusiasm.  "We even tried dancing to one of your songs.  We need practice, much practice."
"I'm glad to hear you've enjoyed it," he replied, then he looked at Rebecca and took her by the hand.  "I think we're going to get going.  You'll come with Sam to pick us up and see us off tomorrow?"
"That's my plan," she replied.  "Make sure you don't forget your passports."
She had a sweet smile on her face, and he shook his head in mock exasperation, realizing she knew he forgot the wedding licence.  Kissing her on the side of the head first, he hugged her, then leaned towards Sam to let him know they were leaving.  Nodding, Sam gave the signal to the piano player to play the last song for the couple before they left.  When they finished the current song, he announced the couple would be leaving after one more song, What a Wonderful World.  A space cleared for them, and they danced with a spotlight on them.  Quickly, Tracey tossed her bouquet into the crowd, laughing when her mother emerged with it.  Sam extracted Tracey's overnight bag from the cloakroom of the facility as Bucky's was already in the hotel room, left from earlier when he and Sam left the hotel, placed them in the limousine then assisted Rebecca outside to say goodbye.  Everyone was given eco-friendly confetti to toss at them as they made their goodbyes out in the cool night air then they got into the limousine, and it pulled away.
He kissed Tracey's hand in the back seat then leaned over to kiss her.  "As fun as that was, I'm glad it's over," he said.  "I haven't danced like that since 1943 when the USO brought a show to an army base in England and allowed the local girls in so we had someone to dance with."
"It was fun," agreed Tracey.  Snuggling closer to her new husband she kissed his ear.  "I hope you don't mind if I try something fun tonight."
"Oh yeah?" he smiled as he put his arm around her.  "Any hints?"
She shook her head smiling at him.  "I think you'll like it ... Sergeant Barnes."
A small giggle escaped her lips and he kissed her passionately, noticing the privacy panel go up between them and the driver.  Twenty minutes later Bucky knocked on the panel and it came down.
"Thank you," said Bucky, to the driver, reaching over the back of the seat with some folded cash.  "I appreciate your discretion."
"You're not my first newlywed couple," smiled the driver, taking the cash.
On his way back Bucky noticed Tracey's panties still on the floor of the limousine and picked them up, placing them in his tuxedo pocket as he took his place beside her again.  It felt like something old Bucky would do.
After check-in at the hotel Bucky carried Tracey across the threshold of the bridal suite door, tipping the bell boy for bringing her bag up.  It was pointed out that his bag was already in the room and that the food and drinks would be delivered shortly.
"Come here," said Bucky softly.  "Did I tell you that you looked incredible tonight?"
"No, but you did say I looked beautiful, stunning, good enough to eat, and what was the other word ... like a goddess," she smiled, as she approached him.  "Did I tell you that you looked handsome?"
"About a dozen times," he nodded.  "I liked hearing it every time."
Reaching to her veil he gently undid the bobby pins, releasing it, then found the bobby pins that were still in her hair, removing them and running his hand through her long locks.  A knock on the door interrupted them and Bucky opened it to room service bringing a plate of oysters and chocolate covered strawberries, plus a bottle of champagne and two long stemmed glasses.  He tipped the server and locked the door behind him.  Tracey looked at the oysters and grimaced slightly.
"It's okay, they're for me," said Bucky.  "I ate them in Romania to help my brain heal.  In my youth they were thought to help in other ways."  A sexy smile crossed his face as he picked one up in the shell, raised it to his upturned face and let it slide into his mouth, chewing a couple of times before he swallowed.  "Not bad.  Do you want a strawberry?"
She nodded and came close to him again as he picked one up and held it up to her lips, watching intently as she bit into it, sliding his free hand around her waist as she chewed it.  A piece of chocolate was stuck on the outside of her lip, and he gently licked it off.
"We need music," murmured Tracey.
"We do," agreed Bucky, and he pulled his cell phone out of his pocket, bringing her panties with it.  "You surprised me in the limousine."
"I surprised myself," she answered, with an amused look on her face.  "Maybe marriage is bringing out a bit of the wild girl I was never allowed to be when I was younger."
"God, I love you," he suddenly said, embracing her then kissing her deeply.
When they finished kissing she turned her back for him to undo the many buttons on the back of her dress.  As the skin on her back was exposed he ran his fingers down the opening, realizing that she hadn't worn a bra, and with her panties coming off in the limousine she was mostly nude under the dress.  It had an immediate effect on him, which became more evident when she dropped her dress off her shoulders to show she was only wearing a garter belt attached to stockings.
"Someone has a problem," she said, pouting her lips slightly as she turned to face him.  "Someone is overdressed for the occasion.  Do you need help getting undressed?"
"Darlin', I like how you're talkin'," replied Bucky, his Brooklyn accent suddenly coming out.  "Just let me get this music going and I'll let you undress me."
He opened his playlist, and it began with a mixture of their songs from their first date in the back yard.  As Tracey undid his tie Bucky removed his jacket tossing it aside, then caressed her body as she undid his shirt and pulled it out of his pants.  They kissed again, both of them stroking the skin of the other.  When Tracey undid Bucky's pants, revealing he was fully aroused, they both looked down at his bulge.
"Damn, baby," he gasped, picking her up and kissing her feverishly as he carried her to the bed.  Lay, Lady, Lay began playing on the playlist and Bucky smiled at Tracey.  "You're so beautiful."
Smiling back, she reached for him, cupping him over his briefs before pulling them off and pulling him into her.  There was no hesitation as he entered her and began thrusting.  For both, what happened next was basic instinctual biology as they each lost control of any inhibitions they may have previously had.  It was quick, almost violent, and brought them to a loud and very physical release.  After they were done they tried to piece together just what happened as Bucky brought some warm wet facecloths out to clean around some definite bite marks on each of them.
"I'm sorry," he whispered as he gently dabbed around them on her breast.  "It was like something came over me and I turned into a wild animal."
"What about what I did to you?" countered Tracey, wincing for him as she gently pressed the facecloth into the broken skin on his neck and shoulder.  "What the hell happened to us?"
"Lost in the moment I guess.  I'll heal quickly but you, you're going to be marked.  I feel terrible."
Gently, she put her hand on his cheek and kissed him.  "It's alright.  It was an incredible orgasm, for what it's worth."  She thought of something and quickly went to the bathroom, coming back a few minutes later.  "Bucky, my IUD isn't there.  The threads to it are gone."
His head came up and he stared at her.  "What does that mean?"
"I could be pregnant."  At first, he said nothing.  "All night, I've really wanted you and when we got into it I felt like nothing else mattered but feeling every part of whatever we were doing.  Increased sexual desire is one of the signs of early pregnancy, no more than a couple of weeks, possibly.  Do you know if your super soldier pheromones are strong enough to affect your partner?"
"No, I don't know," he replied.  "I haven't been with many women since I escaped HYDRA and the men, well they were pretty much all demanding it quick and rough.  We didn't really talk or cuddle after."  He looked away, embarrassed.  "Are you disappointed in me?"
She was in front of him in a moment, kneeling down and holding his face in her hands so quickly it startled him.
"Never," she replied in a voice so intense he could feel it deep inside.  "You are everything to me and what you did before you met me was how you coped with a basic human need, that's all.  We've kept it pretty low key since we became physical, which was fine but maybe it was just us getting used to each other or we were just not allowing ourselves to let go and it all came out tonight."
"Do you have any other symptoms?" he asked, in a voice that sounded both plaintive and hopeful.
"Well, possibly, but we've been a bit stressed with the wedding so I may have attributed it to that," she replied.  "I could take a home pregnancy test.  The really sensitive ones can tell early in the pregnancy.  It's best to take it in the morning when the pregnancy hormone is at its strongest concentration."
"Then we'll do that," he said, smiling softly at her.  "What about tonight?  I don't have any condoms with me."
"If I am pregnant then it's already happened," she replied.  "If I'm not ... maybe I'm meant to be, if you want."
His quick answer surprised him.  "Yeah, I want it.  I've wanted it since the war.  Would you be the mother of my child?"
"In a New York minute."
They kissed passionately, accepting that what happened between them was meant to happen.  Whatever made them lose control was gone as they made love several more times during the night, in ways that were much more gentle but just as satisfying to them both.  Bucky promised to run to a pharmacy in the morning and buy a home pregnancy test to find out if they had even more to celebrate.  Until then they wouldn't worry about it.

(Repost) Naruto/Boruto Headcanon: Chocolate Flavored Potato Chips, The Marriage of Karui & Chouji pt.4 - THE SECOND VENUE
(that’s where it gets interested, bear with me)
Tumblr media
At the early hours of the evening everyone left the first venue, taking place late in the afternoon. All the guests move from the terrace to a huge reception hall located in the middle of downtown of Kumo.
The building is GIGANTIC with a very different vibe from the previous venue. It’s basically a high-end night club.
Tumblr media
They have installed round tables so the dinner can be served, it is assigned as follows:
The Uchiha Table: Sasuke, Itachi, Shisui, Obito, Rin, Madara
Chouji’s Friends Table: Lee, Naruto, Kiba, Shino, Sai, Neji (watching closely Hinata)
Sakura, Hinata, Tenten, Karin, Suigetsu, Juugo
Hanabi, Konohamaru, Temari, Kankuro, Gaara,
All The best man & Bridesmaids have their own tables
The Sensei Table: Kakashi, Guy, Iruka, Asuma, Kurenai, Tenzo
There are countless other with Kumo ninjas.
In the middle of the room there’s a large dancefloor who can be illuminated (for future use),
Tumblr media
This huge reception hall is where the meal will be served and other things as the night follows its course. As assigned, Kankuro takes place at his table admiring the setup. He is quite impressed and even takes notes. If Gaara hears him one more time point out details so “they can do better for Temari’s wedding’’ his eyeliner is going to melt but he calmly sits down and waits for the event to continue while people take the time to socialize.
Naruto being the star (he thinks he is) can’t close his mouth about how much his stomach can’t wait for the meal. He tries to talk to Sasuke by engaging in small talk like:
“Hey, Sasuke. How are you doing? I wasn’t expecting you to be here. Where is your seat?’’ Suigetsu who happened to be between the two looked at Sasuke expecting an answer:
“You’re not going to say anything right?’’. Only for the three men to stand in a dreadful awkward silence. Well, his raven best friend would rather vaporize than engage in small talk with anyone. In these moments, he wishes Itachi would intervene and entertain Naruto knowing his sweet little brother is moody again.  Sasuke quickly looked around seeking help only to find nothing. Obito was nowhere to be found and Madara was busy passionately conversing with any bridesmaids or foreign women he could put his hand on often his hair being the entry point for conversation. Sasuke blinks twice, now understanding why he insisted on coming smh.
“It’s better talking to you, I guess…” he sighed to Naruto's excitement. Suigetsu left both with a screeching smile on his lips. He also prevented Karin from interrupting them. Juugo helped him trying to distract her knowing running up to the Uchiha would displease and anger him.
As time went on, more people came. It's like the entire village was invited to the second venue. There’s a clear distinction between “regular’’ ninjas and “higher class’’ individuals. This is interesting because this wedding appears more open and inclusive than Hinata’s wedding but it’s still a ceremony in the shinobi world.
“It’s them Sakura, do I look ok?’’ Ino who appeared out of nowhere whispered in her ears. Since the shinobi sister were meeting up before going to their assigned tables. All of them looked at Ino with a confused look not fully grasping what she was trying to say.
Also ‘’ARENT YOU SUPPOSED TO BE ORGANIZING STUFF, SHANARONNNN’’ thought Sakura. Without speaking the blonde just pointed towards a table in the ‘’VIP area’’ where were sitting recognizable faces.
“Oh my-‘’ whispered Hinata.
Tumblr media
Tenten rolled her eyes. Like it was nothing Lee, Kiba, Naruto & Shisui were casually talking to the members of Kumo national basketball team. LIKE IT WAS NOTHING! Sakura would probably never admit that she probably liked them as much as Ino, but her blonde friend vanished saying “Watch me light up the stage!’’
Meanwhile, in the VIP area, heated discussions are taking place.
“Hey, look at you, Rock Lee! My man is in shape. Looking good as always!” says basketball player T.
“Really! What’s up with your fountain of youth secret? I bet you could make a team by yourself!” added player G with sounds of approval of his bandmates. They encouraged bushy brows to confidently affirm himself and were eager to hear what he had to say, happy to interact with him.
Rock Lee slightly blushed. He is a little surprised at being acknowledged (before Naruto) to this degree. It even shuts down Kiba and Naruto who weren’t expecting this situation. Trying to hide his true feelings (HIS PRIDE AND EGO GETTING HURT) Kiba waved off whatever Shino wanted to say. Regardless, they all took pictures together and exchanged info, having a good time socializing.
Finally Sakura decided to go and talk to them. She somehow managed to get Hinata to go with her, but are stopped on their way.
“No’’ said Sasuke and Neji firmly holding their arms preventing them from moving any further. Confused, Sakura was trying to make up something to say but was quickly interrupted by the sharp paper fan smacking the back of Neji and Sasuke’s head causing them to release their grip. It was Hanabi, clearly angry.
“You two old rags! Don’t break the fun! They just want a photo and chat a little, YOU KNOW STUFF FANS DO! On top of that they are super friendly! They heard about Sakura and would be glad to see her! AND NEITHER OF YOU STOPPED THE MARRIED NARUTO FROM TALKING TO THEM OR ON ANYTHING IF I’M CONCERNED, SO WHAT ABOUT THAT??!! She barked at them. Not waiting for their reactions she grabbed Sakura and Hinata,
“Come on, let’s go. Leave the party crashers alone!’’ She said before making her way to the basketball players' table with Sakura & Hinata, where Shisui was winning a mini arm-wrestling tournament in the lively atmosphere.
“You know they call me the GOAT’’ laughed Shisui with the basketball players surprised at their loss. Sasuke and Neji went to sit down arms crossed, in silence.
As people sat at their assigned tables, the atmosphere settled as they waited for the latecomers while sipping on non-alcoholic beverages. Most engage in lively conversions, The Uchiha table remained strangely quiet aside from Rin who got offered a bridesmaid’s flower bouquet (for being cute I guess) chatting with Obito. Finally, Itachi made his way into the venue. Right after passing the door, half of the crowd goes berserk.
Especially coming from the athlete VIP area, many clapped in the way friends would do each other. The raven waved at it and made his to his assigned place while countlessly greeting many people along the way.
“MAN, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?” Said one of the basketball players hands raised in surprise. He and Itachi started a small conversation as an answer to his question.
Sasuke stared in confusion. He couldn’t shake off his total mental anguish trying to understand why his brother seemed to know everyone in the room and everyone (from Kumo) wanted to chat and take selfies with him Itachi being popular again making Sasuke look like a charcoal bag of rocks (Madara’s words). He crossed his arms and acted unbothered because the setup/people were strange. He can’t wait to be out of here.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Killer Bee got on the stage and announced the start of the second venue. In a tsunami of applause and cheers, Karui and Chouji were welcomed and went to sit at their assigned table which was prettier than others. Their position in the room gave a premium view of the dancefloor and the pending spectacle as Killer Bee joyfully shouted into the microphone:
“First, we had to welcome the bridesmaids and groomsmen! And as the tradition in Kumo goes, IT’S TIME FOR THE ULTIMATE HONORABLE DANCE BATTLE OF THE CENTURY! Where the bridesmaids and groomsmen fight each other in a merciless dance battle for the honor of the party they represent.” He continued as the crowd warmed up. “You guys know, at every marriage, the newly married get 3 wishes granted by the higher state BUT the winning team wins an ADDITIONAL wish for either the groom or the bride. They have exactly 2:30 minutes to fight for their lives and the public decides who wins.”
This is THE event of the night, so many were dying of impatience for this part of the wedding. As Killer Bee was announcing the coming event, the crowd was already heated while Sasuke just sank deeper in his chair.
“We need to adopt that tradition in Konoha!” screamed Naruto. Kiba laughed beside him getting his camera ready.
“YOU HEARD THAT KAKASHI?! IT’S A TRAINING, I LIKE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!” yelled Guy burning with passion. Kakashi signed but a small smile drawn itself on his lips through his mask. It hadn’t started yet but Temari was already standing like she was attending the most heated baseball game ever
“HA HA SHIKAMARU NARA BETTER NOT DISAPPOINT! NOT ON CHOUJI’S WEDDING! NOT TODAY! She yelled and Kakuro was literally jumping out of his seat.
“This is the best wedding ever!’’. Along with them, Hanabi and Konohamaru couldn’t hold in place.
Killer Bee continued. As tradition says, ladies first.
“Now get ready to welcome the bridesmaids with the female graduates of ninja school of Kumogakure; Ino Yamanaka, Mabui, Samui along with female kunoichi of Kumo’s special forces.
(Don’t die Neji! Don’t Melt yet Sasuke the mess is just starting…)

As expected, the crowd goes berserk. Through the screams, Sakura looked at her blonde best friend dancing and almost felt something in her admiring Ino’s confidence. Her green pupils slid to the left and caught Hinata watching the scene in awe, she was enjoying the show but the fiery darts sent by Neji not far behind her caused her to shift back her focus to the dancefloor. It’s not the time for negativity. Meanwhile, Tenten asked a waiter for any alcoholic beverage they could give now but only received a glass of water.
KARUI WAS HYPE LIKE NEVER. She didn’t expect the bridesmaid team would come together like that to put on such a show. While everyone knows it is a wedding tradition in Kumo, the result is always a mystery to anticipate.
“Oh Yeah! What a Performance!” screamed Killer Bee. “Oh no, we are not over yet! Get ready to welcome the groomsmen team made of Darui, Omoi, C, Atsui, and Shikamaru Nara along with the main unit of Kumo’s special forces!”
Temari was clapping like a seahorse on crack and a dolphin high on adrenaline. Kakuro camera in hand moved earth and sky to get the best spot to capture his soon-to-be new Instagram post even if the space was wide enough for anyone to see. Gaara looked at his older siblings acting a fool.
“So, people really like to see their friend dance…’’ he thought. Asuma pulled a sake bottle from his jacket as the groomsmen entered the venue:

OFF COURSE THE BRIDESMAIDS WON but Naruto and Kiba now have blackmail material against Shikamaru good enough for a decade.

Gonna share some of my favorite pics from the wedding so reblogs are off
It was such a perfect day and I had so much fun! We had a very chill ~10 minute ceremony where my best friend was our officiant and she wrote a very sweet, simple, heartfelt intro, let us say our vows, and then smooch! (And then go hide in the corner of the tent and cry for a minute 😂)
The food was amazing! My cousin is friends with an amazing local chef and got him to cater for us. He even made a whole vegan side menu for the handful of vegan friends we have 🥺 everyone was obsessed with the mashed potato bar, which is the first thing I said I wanted at the wedding 😂 it was so cute, the chef made these insanely good mashed potatoes (and a separate batch of vegan 🥺) and then made different gravies, crispy pepper oil, mushrooms, caramelized onions, various sliced veggies in the onion/scallion vibe and god it was incredible. I think everyone went back for more like 4 times 😂 and the main course was either an incredible spicy vegan pasta, honey glazed roasted chicken, or harissa crusted roasted chicken and they were all 👌👌
We even got super lucky and the wildfire warning notice got lowered enough that we got to have a fire and make s'mores in the absolutely adorable octagonal bench swing setup thing my cousin has. It was so perfect 🥰
It went so well my cousin is thinking about dipping her toe in to see if she can rent her place out as a venue for other people now too! Which she would absolutely crush, she did like 75% of the planning for us and 100% of the decorations and it was so so perfect.
Anyway, I'm married now!! To the most amazing man on earth!!! And I could not be happier 🥰

Summary: Your best friend is getting married and you, her maid of honor, have to work with the best man, Seungmin, to help plan their wedding.

photo not mine credits to owner.
An enormous binder filled with wedding ideas that your best friend had been collecting for who knows how long sat on the kitchen table in front of you.
“You know just looking at this binder makes me not want to get married,” you remarked, lifting the top flap and letting it fall closed.
“Oh stop!” your friend smacked you on the shoulder. “Planning a wedding may take a lot of work, but it’s so worth it in the end. Look how beautiful these setups look,” y/f/, tells you opening the binder to a bunch of photos of different wedding venues. A knock on the door broke your attention away from the binder. “That must be Seungmin,” y/f/n says, getting up to answer the door.
Seungmin was the best friend of your best friend’s soon to be husband. The two of you had hung out occasionally, always with the company for your best friends of course. You were friendly with each other though, you both got along well.
“Hey,” Seungmin kindly greets you as he enters the kitchen, taking a seat at the table across from you.
“Hey,” you greeted him back casually.
“That makes me not want to get married,” Sungmin stated, his eyes bulging as he stares at the practically overflowing binder.
“That’s exactly what I said,” you laughed.
“Well aren’t you two just perfect for each other,” y/f/n jokes, retaking their seat at the table. Y/f/n and their fiancé often joke about how you and Seungmin should date. They say how it would be cute. Two pairs of best friends dating one another. You and Seungmin always just brushed it off though. You guys weren’t really that close anyway.
“Ok let’s get planning,” your friend excitedly says, opening the binder.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today you and Seungmin had an appointment to select the flowers for the wedding. Both of you arrived at the shop and Seungmin held the door open for you to enter.
“Thanks,” you said with a small nod.
“No problem,” he smiled, following in after you.
“Welcome, what brings this love couple here?” An employee brightly asked.
“Oh, we're not a couple. We’re the maid of honor and best man for our friends’ wedding. We’re here to order flowers,” you corrected the employee.
“My apologies. You two just look really good together. We have some catalogs over here for weddings that you can look through,” the employee says, leading over to the catalogs.
After ordering the flowers you and Seungmin had to go double check some things with the venu.
“Seungmin, what do you think is better? The cream tablecloth or the pearl tablecloth?” you asked, holding the tablecloths side by side for comparison.
“Aren’t they both just white?” He questioned looking at the cloths.
“You’re not being useful,” you grumbled, going back to trying to find what color tablecloth is better suited for the wedding.
“I’m sorry. I live in a twelve color crayon box,” Seungmin chuckled out. “Look I know you want everything to be perfect for y/f/n, but who’s really gonna remember the color of the tablecloth?” Seungmin comes to stand beside you, placing a hand on your shoulder.
“You’re right, but I don’t want to let y/f/n down in any way. You saw that wedding binder,” you told him.
“Yeah I did, but you know she wouldn’t have put you in charge if she wasn’t confident that you do a good job,” Seungmin comforts you. His words bring a small smile to your face.
“I think the pearl one is the one,” you said, lifting the pearl tablecloth.
“Then let’s use the pearl one,” he smiles contentedly at you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You went with Seungmin to get his suit for the wedding. Seungmin claimed that it would be best for you to come with him since he would never understand all the different shade colors that the suits come in or have any clue about what tie he should get.
Your eyes scanned the collection of dress clothes adorning the racks before pulling the suit pieces.
“Here, go try this on,” you told Seungmin, handing him the clothes. A few minutes later Seungmin emerges from the dressing room.
“Your girlfriend has a good eye. That suit looks great on you,” the tailor said as he monitored Seungmin's appearance.
“Thanks. It’s because she lives in a one hundred twenty colored crayon box,” Seungmin tells the tailor.
“Sungmin, here this tie is the same color as my dress,” you informed, walking up to where he stood.
“Do it for me,” he tells you in a lively manner. You pull him a little closer by the lapels of his suit jacket and reach up around his neck, beginning to tie the tie.
“There,” you say once you’re done, moving back to see the full look. Seungmin turns to look at himself in the mirror, but his eyes trail to where you're standing.
“So does this get your stamp of approval then?” he asks you.
“Yes, you look really good,” you told him. Maybe he’s imagining things, but Seungmin swears he sees a faint pink color on your cheeks that wasn’t there before. Seungmin was right, you were indeed blushing. Seeing Seungmin in that suit made you realize just how handsome he was and it had quite the effect on your heart. Spending all this time with Seungmin planning the wedding made you think about all the time your friend talked about how you should date him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was a few hours before the wedding and you and Seugmin, but mainly you were scrambling to make sure that everything was perfectly set up.
“Does this centerpiece look like it’s in the middle of the table to you? I think it’s a little too far left,” you question Seungmin.
“You’re doing it again y/n. Calm down, everything looks amazing,” Seungmin tells you. You take a deep breath to try and relax some.
“Ok. I should go get ready then,” you say, looking around once more to double check everything is still in its rightful place.
“Yes, go get ready. I’ll see you when it’s time for the big show,” he tells you playfully.
The ceremony was beautiful. Y/f/n looked like a princess and you don’t think that you’ve ever seen her happier. The same can be said about her now husband. They’re eyes shined and pure joy was on every ounce of their faces. Most importantly you're happy that your best friend found somebody to love and who loved them unconditionally. You may like to play an anti-romantic, but truthfully you wish to find someone to love as much as y/f/n and their husband love each other.
“May I have this dance?” Seungmin asks you, sticking out a hand for you to grab. It was now time for the reception and the newlyweds were having their first dance.
“You may,” you replied, setting your hand in his. Seungmin then guides you over to the dance floor. He placed one hand on your waist and you placed one hand on his shoulder, both of you leaving your other hands interlocked.
“I’d say we did a fairly good job. Don’t you think?” Seungmin takes a look around the room, admiring all the work the both of you did.
“Yeah I’d say so. Y/f/n told me it was everything she imagined and more,” you happily remarked.
“So I guess the pearl tablecloths were the right choice then,” he pokes.
“Do you live in a thirteen color crayon box now?” You poked back.
“I’ve been thinking about upgrading to the twenty-four pack,” he tittered.
“I think that would do you some good,” you responded cheekily. The both of you then laugh lightheartedly. A part of you feels a bit sad that after today you won’t have a reason to see Seungmin so often. Who knew planning a wedding with someone could be so bonding.
“What is it?” he quizzes you upon noticing the slight change in your face.
“I’m gonna miss spending time with you,” you told him honestly.
“Then don’t stop spending time with me,” he states like it was obvious.
“What are you saying?” you question him.
“Look maybe I shouldn’t say this at someone else's wedding, but I think it would be nice if we dated. Like how our friends always joke about,” he confesses.
“I think that would be nice too,” you admitted. Seungmin pulled you closer by your waist and let go of your hand to wrap you up in a hug. You slither your now free hand around his other shoulder to reciprocate the hug. Both of you slowly swaying to the music.
“It only took us getting married for them to finally start dating,” your friend tells her husband when she notices you and seungmin together.
“Guess we should’ve got married sooner,” he joked.
In case things weren’t cliche enough you caught the bouquet of flowers when it came time for the flower toss.
“Guess it’s time to start planning our wedding huh?” Seungmin jests from behind you, whispering into your ear.
“After this one I think I need a year to recover,” you dramatized.
“I can wait. I could use the recovery time too,” he responds, pulling you into his chest. You simply leaned into his embrace enjoying the moment.
Orion arrived only after a flurry of nearly-red lights and near-miss pedestrians.
It's an outdoor setup- A small one, at that- and though Orion knew that every guest was in attendance for reasons of small-scale diplomacy or family obligation, the thought still crossed her mind that the celebration should not be limited to that.
The ceremony had barely commenced. Eliza's journey to the alter had not even concluded. A man, presumably her father, led her via means of an iron-grip on her arm to her awaiting fate.
Elton, posing as her knight in shining armour, looked simply bored enough that searching through a haystack would entertain him. Elegant, flawless, adoring, yes, but also deeply uninterested in his soon-to-be wife.
When she reached him, she paused, reaching to straighten his tie. That's my job, Orion thinks, rather dejectedly. Though, a perpetually crooked tie is a curse of sorts. One that applies solely to Elton Rhymes.
He smiled when she reached him, close-lipped and good-natured. Eliza returns a toothy grin, her enthusiasm not unlike that of a boiling pot's.
On paper, they are the perfect couple. Elton Rhymes and Eliza Landhoff: A nuclear family waiting to happen.
The assumed Mr. Landhoff claimed the remaining seat in the front row beside a woman, twenty years his junior, who immediately took hold of his sleeve and began dramatically sobbing. Awkwardly, he pet her hair, mussing the crown of blonde braids. Her theatrical display quieted after a minute or two and the ceremony continued.
The venue is marked by two marble pillars, joined in an arch over Orion's head. From that entrance, of sorts, a carpeted aisle and eventually the altar.
Orion slipped past these barriers and into a curiously empty seat, looking to any inquisitive minds like a guest who simply misjudged the ceremony's starting time.
The officiator motioned for his congregation to sit and silence fell among the spectators. Sixty people, gazing with falsified adoration at the couple. Or, if accuracy is of consequence, gazing at Eliza.
Even Orion had to admit that she looked flawless. Majestic and without even the most minor of imperfections. She refrained from the expected white dress, opting instead for a two piece outfit consisting of a simple flared skirt and a fitted corset, both with lavender embellishments. The corset is tied with lavender ribbons that cascade down her back, tangling with blonde curls- Those which are not arranged atop her head. Embroidered flowers circled her waist- Hyacinths and violets, as well as the hem of her skirt. In addition, she sports a clean, off the shoulder blouse with flowing, fairy-tale sleeves. Her shoes are white Mary Janes, hand-stitched with miniature purple hyacinths- Custom made a gorgeous.
Orion considered the sheer amount of precious stones gracing Eliza's body. The ruby encrusted beret nestled among her golden curls to the sixteen carat gold clasps on her shoes. Orion wondered if this was truly the meaning of a higher society. If so, she wanted no part in it.
Regardless of circumstance, Eliza beamed, the elation clear on her face. An act, to be sure, but a believable one on all accounts
Their eyes met with no exchange of warmth. Nothing akin to love, or worthy of being 'cherished'. Every smile or touch is nothing more than a role they must play.
Eliza suggested they give the relationship a try early in their engagement. Elton claimed to have shut her notion down immediately and Orion trusted this, as she has no other option than to do so.
Orion had met the blushing bride since, of course. A function here and a business trip there. She smiled and waved, hanging off Elton's arm late into the evening. No one seemed to question her own work, despite her PhD and various other achievements. They merely inquired about the wedding. Eliza often gained a sour disposition early in the evening which didn't fade until safely tucked in bed, bidding her fiance goodbye as he hurried to the adjoining bedroom.
Orion could not trust him unconditionally, and she believed he knew that. It was simply not her place to pry in his world- That of ruby-encrusted berets and gold clasps.
She could, however, love him unconditionally. Without pause or consideration, she could stand by his side. Elton would consider one as valuable as the other.
"If anyone here objects to this union..." The officiators voice was ancient, crackling with each vowel, but it pierced Orion's trance nonetheless.
Her chance had arrived. Only, she wasn't entirely certain what it was a chance for. Eternal love or potential heartbreak? Elton? Is it that simple?
She shook her head in an attempt to clear her thoughts, to tidy them away into neat boxes for later perusal.
Elton's face became clearer. He straightened his back, as if reminding Orion to do the same, and set his lips in a clear line. Orion ran a hand through her hair, still damp and dripping onto her collar.
She stood and every individual person simply became static in her peripheral vision.
Elton released a shuddering breath and Eliza, bless her, looked stoic. Slowly, she fell back toward her awaiting bridesmaids. The maid of honour had come prepared, a box of tissues in her hand. The rest were simply armed with looks harsh to kill.
"Sorry." The word tasted like sand in her mouth, "No one actually objects, I know."
Slowly, Orion moved into the aisle. She could only imagine how she looked to the guests- Crazy, perhaps. A crazy woman with sunglasses and damp hair.
To everyone's apparent surprise, Eliza laughed.
"Elton." She said, and though he doesn't show any indication of having heard her speak, she continued, "You better go to them before I drag you by your ear." Elton broke his trance to gawk at her, along with the rest of the congregation, "Being here wasn't my choice either." She cast her father a meaningful, withering glance. He had the decency to shrink back in his seat.
Elton looked at her with a certain apologetic softness. Eliza waved him off with a soft, sad smile, remorseful in a way, but relieved.
The ensuing silence shifts Elton's attention where it is needed most. Orion cleared her throat, "I am suddenly very aware that you haven't made any indication to whether you want me to leave or not."
He opens his mouth to reply, but his voice was drowned by another from the sea of guests, screaming, "Kiss him already, Rhymes!"
“Her, actually.” She corrected him, “But I agree, if it counts for anything.”
“Sorry.” The person yelled back, apparently considerate enough to offer an apology.
Elton did not waste another moment on hesitation. He marched down the aisle and grasped her arm. Then, he was sprinting. Truly, fast-paced sprinting in his dress shoes and best suit.
This is our chance, Orion thought, squinting against the oncoming sunlight.
How to Choose the Right DJ Lighting for Small, Medium, and Large Venues
When it comes to creating an unforgettable DJ performance, sound is only part of the equation. Lighting plays a critical role in setting the mood, energizing the crowd, and enhancing the overall experience. Whether you’re performing at a small party, a medium-sized wedding, or a massive event venue, the right lighting can make all the difference.
But how do you choose the perfect lighting setup for venues of different sizes? This blog breaks it down for you, providing tips and guidance to help you select the ideal DJ lighting for small, medium, and large venues.
Why Lighting Matters
Before diving into specifics, let’s talk about why lighting is essential. A well-designed lighting setup:
Enhances Atmosphere: Lights can transform a plain room into a vibrant, dynamic space.
Captures Attention: Proper lighting directs focus to key areas, such as the DJ booth or dance floor.
Boosts Energy: Flashing, color-changing, and moving lights can create an energetic environment that keeps the crowd engaged.
Whether you’re hosting an intimate gathering or rocking a massive venue, lighting is your secret weapon to elevate the vibe.
Small Venues: Keeping It Simple and Impactful
Small venues, such as house parties, coffee shops, or small clubs, typically don’t require an elaborate lighting setup. Here’s what to keep in mind:
Tumblr media
1. Compact and Portable Equipment
Since space is limited, prioritize lightweight and portable lighting fixtures. Consider options like LED par cans, small wash lights, or a basic laser projector. These are easy to set up and don’t overwhelm the space.
2. Focus on Key Areas
In small venues, less is more. Highlight the DJ booth and the dance floor with focused lighting to create an intimate yet lively ambiance.
3. Add a Splash of Movement
A small moving head light or a simple sound-activated lighting effect can create motion without being overbearing. Pair this with a fog machine for added drama.
Always test your lights in advance to ensure they’re not too bright for the space. Small venues can quickly feel over-lit, which can ruin the vibe.
Medium Venues: Striking a Balance
Medium-sized venues, like banquet halls or larger clubs, give you more room to experiment. The key here is balance—creating a dynamic experience without overwhelming the space.
1. Layer Your Lighting
A layered approach works best in medium venues. Use a mix of wash lights for overall ambiance, spotlights to highlight key areas, and effect lights for movement and excitement.
2. Utilize Zones
Divide the venue into zones:
Dance Floor: Prioritize dynamic lights like moving heads and strobe lights to keep the energy high.
Seating Areas: Use softer, static lights to maintain a relaxed atmosphere.
DJ Booth: Make this a focal point with an eye-catching lighting setup, like color-changing LED strips or uplights.
3. Sync Lights with Music
Consider investing in DMX-controlled lighting to synchronize your lights with your music. This adds a professional touch and keeps the crowd engaged.
4. Don’t Forget the Ceiling
Using lights that project patterns or colors onto the ceiling can make the space feel bigger and more immersive.
Large Venues: Go Big or Go Home
Large venues, such as concert halls, outdoor festivals, or massive ballrooms, demand a lighting setup that matches their scale.
1. Power and Coverage Are Key
In large spaces, your lighting needs to be powerful enough to reach every corner. Opt for high-powered moving heads, large wash lights, and high-output lasers.
2. Create Depth with Layers
To prevent the space from feeling flat, layer your lighting:
Front Lights: Illuminate the DJ and performers.
Overhead Lights: Use trusses to mount moving lights and strobes for an overhead spectacle.
Backlights: Add depth and dimension by placing lights behind the DJ or stage.
3. Embrace Special Effects
Large venues allow for creative freedom. Incorporate effects like CO₂ jets, confetti cannons, or large-scale projection mapping to wow the audience.
4. Plan for Outdoor Challenges
If you’re working outdoors, ensure your lighting is weatherproof and powerful enough to compete with ambient light from the environment.
Always work with a lighting plan or diagram for large venues. This ensures your lights are strategically placed for maximum impact.
Tumblr media
General Tips for Choosing DJ Lighting
No matter the venue size, keep these universal tips in mind when choosing DJ lighting:
1. Know Your Audience
Are you performing for a laid-back crowd or a high-energy dance party? Tailor your lighting to match the vibe.
2. Consider the Venue’s Characteristics
Every venue is unique. Consider the height of the ceilings, the layout, and the existing lighting when planning your setup.
3. Test and Adjust
Always test your lights before the event. This allows you to make adjustments and troubleshoot any issues.
4. Prioritize Quality
Investing in quality equipment ensures durability, better performance, and a more professional look. Purchasing from a professional audio shop not only guarantees quality but also provides expert advice tailored to your specific needs.
The Importance of Proper Setup
Even the best lighting equipment won’t deliver the desired effect if it’s not set up correctly. Take the time to position your lights strategically and experiment with angles, brightness, and colors to find the perfect balance.
Conclusion: Light Up the Night
Choosing the right DJ lighting for small, medium, and large venues doesn’t have to be daunting. By understanding the unique needs of each space and following these tips, you can create a visually stunning experience that complements your music and captivates your audience.
Whether you’re lighting up an intimate gathering or a massive crowd, remember that lighting is an art form. With the right tools and a bit of creativity, you can transform any venue into an unforgettable spectacle. So, step into the spotlight and let your lighting skills shine!
