Eddie feels like the luckiest man alive, that he gets to count Steve Harrington and Robin Buckley as his best friends, but he wasn't sure about it at first. No matter how often his new little sheepies praised Steve, Eddie remembered high school. He remembered the Steve that was a grade-A, top-choice asshole. But then--Robin comes out to him. And Steve knows. Steve knows and he's cool about it. So, Eddie comes out to them and Steve is cool about that too.
It fucks Eddie up a little, if he's being honest. Like, Steve, objectively, is hot, but Eddie's only ever been superficially attracted to him. He thinks the whole jock archetype just doesn't do a lot for him. Too much negativity attached to their whole thing. But he'd be lying if he said part of him isn't intrigued.
He doesn't develop a crush on Steve, though. Somehow, through all the charm and bitchiness and not-so-secret kindness, his heart remains unmoved. It must be the jock thing.
And then he's scrolling on Twitter. He's scrolling on Twitter and he's not looking for porn, not even in a "Oh no, I never look at porn on the internet" way, and there's this video.
The first thing he sees is the lowered waist band of a pair of 90's-style basketball shorts, Pacers logo just visible. Then it's the long fingers, the broad hands. They're skimming down a tanned, toned torso, not a six-pack but it's somehow sexier this way. Their path draws Eddie's eyes to the dot of moles, the spread of freckles. They're so kissable, Eddie's mouth waters. Those fingers, they linger against the trimmed thatch of dark hair just peaking out over the elastic, before pulling that waistband lower.
Eddie's hard. Rock hard. Fuck, he's so hard a wind gust could make him come.
The guy on screen, he's got his gorgeous dick in hand, giving himself slow strokes and thumbing at the tip to collect the obvious slickness beading there.
It's not really a decision when Eddie unzips and shoves his jeans just low enough to take himself in hand. On screen, the hand speeds up, the stomach shivering, breath coming in soft bursts, somehow almost more intoxicating than the jerking off.
Eddie times his strokes with the video, coming apart faster than he ever has watching porn. He can tell the guy is close, his grip goes tighter, his breath shorter. Eddie's about to go off like a fucking rocket.
The hand stills, the guy's cock fucking quivers, and he's ready for the money shot, will totally come at the same time, except--it doesn't happen.
The screen goes black.
Eddie comes all over himself.
"Fuck, shit, goddamnit," he hisses. He flails around trying to find something to clean himself up with and pause the video so he can read the fucking text.
As wiped up as he can be without showering, Eddie runs the video back a few seconds to see the words, "want the full experience? Subscribe to my OnlyFans."
He's never clicked a link so fast in his life. He's never really explored OnlyFans before, but he signs up for the free trial without a second thought.
The guy's username is KingJock016 and under usual circumstances, Eddie would be disgusted, but it's too late for that. He's already scrolling through thumbnails of hands and dicks and asses and butt plugs and dildos, pausing briefly at a preview of one where KingJock is bent at the waist, perfect ass--dotted with freckles-- framed by the bands of a jock strap. He's deliciously hairy, deliciously ripe, and Eddie is firming up again.
Without fully meaning to, he hits play, and the video starts with KingJock already rocking his cock into his fist. He's moaning in this one, full throated, almost desperate. And there's something about it, something that catches in Eddie's brain, but he can't focus on that when he's watching KingJock trace a finger around his own asshole.
It's insane that Eddie is this far gone without seeing the guy's face, that his toes are curling at the mere sight of KingJock fucking himself. The sounds are obscene, the slick and snap of skin on skin, the throaty moans, the creak of the bed as KingJock rocks into his fist and back onto his fingers.
Eddie's not even touching himself, and he's already standing at complete attention, a heady ache already starting in his balls.
And then KingJock flips his head back, revealing a shock of chestnut hair, the taut lines of a mole-kissed throat, the hard line of a jaw. One eye flashes open, looks directly at the camera, at Eddie.
It's fucking Steve Harrington.
Eddie comes all over himself again.
It's Steve. His best friend, Steve. His straight best friend. Making content clearly targeted for queer men? I mean, Eddie can't fault him. Like, nice work if you can get it, but Steve???
He hasn't done anything to clean up because his thoughts are spiraling too hard. How long has this been going on? Does Robin know? Should Eddie subscribe ? Leave a comment about how this video made him come untouched? Join a live? No, no, of course not. Steve was his real life friend. He couldn't hang out with him and then watch him fuck himself on a wall-mounted dildo.
He hits subscribe though. He'll hate himself for it later. It's only for the trial period, anyway.
He wipes himself off, but the come is already drying, sticky, against his skin and in his body hair. He needs a shower. He needs to practice being normal around Steve now that he--
Shit, Steve. They're going to the movies tonight. Steve's supposed to pick him up in, shit, fuck twenty minutes.
Eddie hurls himself into the shower, moves so quickly he doesn't really have time to think about Steve having an OnlyFans, about how hard he got off to his friend, about how he keeps having flashes of Steve's perfect body play through his head.
It's hard to ignore it when Steve is standing at his door in his form hugging jeans and little t-shirt and Eddie's done for, a dead man; here lies Eddie Munson. He's just standing in the doorway, smiling at Steve and he knows it's manic, but he can't slip it.
"Are you okay?" Steve asks. Eddie hears the words but all it does is remind him of KingJock's breathy moans.
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" He keeps smiling.
Steve's eyes narrow. He leans into Eddie's space. "Did you drop acid again? We told you not to do it alo--"
"I didn't! Nothing's wrong."
"Your face is all flushed. You feeling okay? You could have a fever."
Before Eddie can react, Steve's resting the back of his hand on his forehead. Eddie flinches, swatting Steve away, which devolves into a brief slap fight.
"I don't have a fever, man. I'm fine. Hot shower, is all."
"If you say so. Ready to get going?"
Eddie nods. He can totally do this. He can pretend he doesn't know about the OnlyFans and the face Steve makes when he's about to come.
The drive is quiet. Too quiet. He thinks his bones are trying to rip through his skin.
He starts talking, isn't even tracking what he's saying. Dnd and then suddenly it's hobbits and then Star Trek for reasons even he doesn't comprehend. He glances over at Steve, and he's burnished golden from the light of the setting sun. He's so beautiful. How did Eddie miss it all this time? Why did he--
"Get any new subscribers lately?" He hears come out of his mouth.
Steve slams on the breaks, sending Eddie careening into he dashboard.
"Jesus Christ, what the fuck," Eddie shrieks. The car behind them lays on the horn, then speeds past when it's clear they aren't moving.
"Why are you saying what the fuck at me?" Steve hisses back. He hits the gas, pulling the car to the side of the road. "Eddie--what the fuck?"
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," he chants. He hides his head in his hands. "I didn't mean to--I'm so fucking sorry."
"How'd you find it?"
Eddie snorts. "One of your videos showed up on my TL. That's the algorithm for you."
"Jesus christ," Steve mutters. "You weren't supposed to--it's--"
"What are you even doing, man?"
"My Family Video salary won't cut it, if we're moving to Indy."
"You're not even gay."
Steve mumbles something, but he's looking out the window and not at Eddie at all.
"What was that?"
"Maybe I am!" Steve doesn't shout, but it's forceful.
Eddie's mouth drops. "Does Robin know?"
Steve stares forward, hands tightening on the wheel.
"And you didn't tell me?" It hurts, he's surprised how much, so much it takes his breath.
"It wasn't like that, Ed."
"Oh, no? Then what was it like?"
"It doesn't matter."
"The fuck it doesn't! I'm the first person you should've come to! I know exactly what it's like."
"No, you don't." Steve explodes. "You don't because you made me realize. And I couldn't talk to you about it because I like you. And, yeah, maybe starting an OnlyFans as part of my gay awakening is weird to you, but it's done a lot for me, okay?"
Steve said a lot of stuff just there, a lot of important things, but Eddie's glitched out on one part. "You like...me?"
"Yeah, like. Have you met you?" Steve slumps in his seat, like he's defeated. "You're fucking beautiful, dude. And smart and funny and passionate. Nerdy as hell. I didn't stand a chance."
"But I'm--" Eddie shakes his head. "I mean, look at me."
"I have." Steve nods. "A lot. I really like what I see."
"When I realized it was you in those videos, I came all over myself. Untouched," Eddie blurts. He flushes deep crimson immediately. "Oh my god, I can't believe I just--"
Steve is laughing, hands pressed over his mouth.
"Shut up, shut up," Eddie swipes at him. "It's not funny, oh my god."
When Steve gets it together, he finally looks at Eddie, and there's pink in his cheeks and a shine to his eyes. "That might be the most gratifying thing anyone has ever said to me."
"Yeah, well. It was humiliating."
"It's hot, Eddie."
His blush hasn't cooled even a bit. "Yeah?" His voice comes out deep, husky.
"I wouldn't mind, uh--that is, if it's cool with you--seeing it for myself?"
Eddie giggles. "You wanna make me come untouched, sweetheart?"
Steve shifts in his seat. "I'd really like that. Will you let me?"
"Uh-huh, absolutely, definitely. If you don't put this car in drive and get us back to my place, I'm going to literally die."
Steve laughs again, a bright, free thing, and he swings back onto the road. "Not yet, you aren't."
That sends a shock of pleasant shivers down Eddie's spine, right to his dick.
"Maybe we can even make a video together sometime."
Eddie, much to his deep embarrassment, whines, hips shifting with the sudden need for relief. "Oh, you didn't want me to die before because this is how you're planning on killing me."
Steve turns to him, a smirk on his lips and a devilish glint in his eye. "You have no idea what I'm going to do to you."

Ziolet Songs: Day Fourteen
Day 14 - Grow Old With You
I wanna make you smile whenever you're sad Carry you around when your arthritis is bad All I wanna do is grow old with you
I'll get your medicine when your tummy aches Build you a fire if the furnace breaks Oh, it could be so nice, growing old with you
I'll miss you Kiss you Give you my coat when you are cold
Need you Feed you Even let you hold the remote control
Below you can find a fanfic excerpt and a little Ziolet background info, please note warnings for pregnancy discussion/description.
Zach and Violet become pregnant with Varina shortly after their wedding. The pregnancy, like all of Violetâs pregnancies except the one with Victoria, was very difficult.
During the pregnancies Violet dealt with physical and emotional struggles, feeling gross from her appearance and symptoms. But Zach cannot see it, he truly thinks she is stunning throughout her pregnancies, and heâll do anything to convince her of that fact, including singing the aforementioned song, because he loves her so.
I laid on the couch in Zachâs headquarters watching The Wedding Singer. My hands rested on my ever growing baby bump as our daughter fiercely kicked within my womb. I was officially in my third trimester, and I was a mess. I was still suffering from morning sickness, which was a complete joke because it could last all day, and I was beyond exhausted and emotionally drained. I felt like I couldnât go anywhere or do anything due to the debilitating nausea, so Iâd resorted to laying down a lot more and watching old romantic comedies to pass the time.
Zach was at his workbench building his latest robotic achievement, and although Iâd been trying to help him, be the good assistant and wife I longed to be, I just couldnât do it. If I wasnât still, I was getting sick. So, I remained curled up, resting my head on the arm of the couch. I was ready to doze off when my favorite scene in the movie came on, and I immediately perked up.
I rose to a sitting position, cradling my bump as Robbie sang Grow Old With You to Julia. I could not stop the tears that fell from my eyes: the hormones were brutally beating me up. Zach called out to me, coming to my side and sitting on the couch next to me, a worried look crossed his face.
Zach reached his hand out, covering my stomach with his open palm, âVi, why are you crying? Whatâs wrong? Is something wrong with Baby V?â
âNo, Iâm fine, sheâs fine, itâs justâŚ.itâs so romantic and beautiful!â I sobbed. Zachâs expression instantly turned from one of worry to amusement.
âI thought something was really wrong, youâre crying like someone died!â He snickered.
âI canât help it, these hormones are killing me!â I sobbed louder, Zach continued to laugh and pulled me onto his lap, cradling me to his chest.
I sniffed before continuing, âitâs - itâs just that he loved her so much, he sang this beautiful song to her telling her that no matter what heâd love her. Even if sheâs not young and beautifulâŚand I feel so gross right now, and I look awful soâŚitâs just really nice to see thisâŚitâs just beautiful Zach!â
âYouâre not gross ViâŚâ Zach reassured me, he paused tilting my face up so he could look me directly in the eyes, sincerity filled his voice, âyouâre beautiful, far more beautiful than this sappy movieâŚâ
âIâm a hormonal mess, and she wonât stop growing, and Iâm sick all the time, Iâm grossâŚâ I whimpered, tossing my head back and pouting.
Zach groaned, pushing me off his lap and standing up. He glared down at me, and waved his index finger, âyouâre gonna make me do it, arenât you?â
âDo what?â I whined.
He rolled his eyes, âSing to youâŚsing you that song to make you feel betterâŚâ
I looked at him in shock, âno, you donât have toâŚâ
Zach gave a huff, crossing his arms over his chest, âIâll do it, because I know itâll make you happy, but you have to promise me something.â
I wrinkled my brows, âpromise you what?â
Zach leaned toward me singing,ââI wanna grow old with youâŚââ
He paused after seeing my face light up, âpromise me that youâll stop talking about looking gross. Youâre beautiful, youâre carrying our child, and no matter what changes your body goes through now or 50 years from now Iâll always think youâre beautifulâŚpromise me youâll stop?â
âI promiseâŚâ I whispered in excitement.
Zach nodded, âGood, and if youâre a good girl, I might just learn how to play it for you on the violin for our wedding anniversary. How does that sound?â (@novazentryx has me hooked on the idea of violinist Zach)
I nodded enthusiastically, and I chewed on my lip as he started singing to me, as soon as his voice filled my ears, our baby girl began kicking again. I figured she must have enjoyed the sound of Zachâs voice just as much as her momma.

cobra kai, but make it a Wedding Singer!AUz but like, the 1998 Adam Sandler rom-com.
i donât have a full thought for this, but i just think Wedding Singer!AU, but itâs Johnny falling in love with Carmen while heâs supposed to be helping her prepare for her wedding with a fiancĂŠ that sheâs not sure is right for her anymore.
Johnny is a wedding singer. he takes small gigs of any kind, really â mostly bc heâs got *awful* reviews. he shows up late, gets drunk, and his singing is⌠yeah. that being said, heâs pretty beloved by some people. old ladies think heâs a riot and if heâs on his best behavior, kids and teens think heâs the coolest guy (mostly bc he encourages them to say cuss words).
if he were reliable (or maybe stopped getting into fights with the catering), heâd be pretty successful!!
Carmenâs fiancĂŠ is proving to be a useless asshole, so Johnny is there for every cake tasting, every meeting with the wedding planner, picking up the dress, etc. everything bc Carmen asked for his support bc he seemed like a nice friend to have. all the while, Johnnyâs just some deadbeat guy that isnât sure about this âheart of goldâ aspect that Carmenâs family thinks he has.
he gets along well with her son, Miguel, and her mother. Miguelâs probably the one that convinces Johnny to confess since itâs becoming more and more obvious to everyone that Carmenâs fiancĂŠ is terrible.
as a note, i want to believe that Johnny lives in his shitty apartment from the show. his relationship with Robby is rocky, but decent enough that Robby comes to stay every other weekend. heâs another factor in Johnny chasing after Carmen in the end.
bonus trope: Miguel and Robby scheming as a team to get their parents together. it benefits both of them. Carmen brings out the best in Johnny and Carmen is happy with someone that actually respects her and her family. itâs a win-win.
bonus points!!! Billy Idol still shows up and Johnny gets to have the sickest confession ever.
#cobra kai au#johnny lawrence#carmen diaz#spoilers for the 1998 movie wedding singer#thereâs no karate#just johnny getting the romcom romance that he deserves#bruh i love carmen#just as a note i love miguelâs mom and yaya so dearly#a rare moment of me loving canon heterosexual ships#this is my favorite movie#you should watch it for Drew Barrymore#cobra kai#cobra kai johnny#cobra kai carmen

JAMES POTTER | GENUINE
SUM. : your boyfriend finally takes a role who has a romantic interest but his expression is hardly convincing; only you can get a genuine reaction from him
LENGTH : 1.8k
TAGS : actor james potter au ; modern au ; muggle au ; singer reader au ; actor/director sirius black au ; actress marlene mckinnon au ; fluff ; celebrity couple goals ; james can't do romantic roles ; he's too loyal!
âCUT!â Sirius shouts and James drops his shoulders in disappointment, his expression of âhopeless loveâ also slipping off his face. This is why he wasnât suited for romantic roles. As Sirius shouts for everyone to take a short five-minute break, James catches Marlene sending him a sympathetic look before moving to her chair with the help of her make-up team, who lifted the heavy skirt of her wedding dress for easier movement. âCome on James, whatâs gotten into you?â Sirius asks, making his way over as Remus touches up Jamesâ hair and suit.Â
âIâm trying Sirius,â the actor sighs, âI think I just need a break to collect myself and then I can finally get that winning take for you,âÂ
âYou better,â Sirius playful threatens, âI know youâre a lovesick fool so I know the type of infatuated expressions you can pull. Just try to emulate that and youâre golden, okay?â
âItâs not that easy if it isnât herâŚâ James was tempted to protest but settled with a simple, âOkayâŚâ satisfied, Sirius walks away with Remus to discuss some things with the camera crew while James leans against the setâs alter.Â
As an actor, James should find it easy to perform his charactersâ expressions and emotions, his stardom and recurring roles in thriller, action and adventure films were a sentiment to that. However, his current role requires romantic displays, something he had actively avoided in his acting career.Â
Characters that had passionate, romantic and intimate scenes were roles James tended to avoid primarily due to his endless loyalty to you, his childhood sweetheart. As young teens, you and James fell in love long before your successes. Since then, you have only grown a deeper love for each other, fostered by the hardships that came with your dreams of becoming a singer and his of becoming an actor with Sirius.Â
His best friend eventually divulged into directing his own films whilst James continued expanding his career as an actor â as much as heâs able to with the number of scripts heâs dropped for their romantic interests and amorous scenes. It didnât sit right with him having to kiss another girl let alone look lovingly at someone that wasnât you. He felt like a cheat. Many, including Sirius, however, have told him that it was part of his job but James was insistent on making no exceptions. He respected you and the love you shared too much. The same way you would play your own love interest in music videos while wearing a short wig and masculine attire. It was a show of mutual respect you both had for the other before and after your relationship became public.Â
The only reason James had taken on this role was due to Siriusâ insistence as the director, the lack of intimate scenes as well as the dominating adventure, and fantasy genre. It would all be underpinned by small heartfelt moments with his characterâs love interest played by his close friend Marlene McKinnon. The two charactersâ love story will end in tragedy, haunted by the trope of âright person, wrong timeâ. James believed he could convincingly play his loving expressions only brought on by you in the rare, romantic moments his character shares with Marleneâs but itâs proving harder than he originally thought. Simply thinking about you wasnât enoughâŚ
Mulling over his characterâs story, James imagines you in Marleneâs place. He only had three minutes remaining to focus on how he should convey his characterâs âhopeless loveâ convincingly.Â
To concentrate, he closes his eyes and thinks deeply, ignoring the sudden scuffle and whispers around him. On an adventure to rescue his unrequited loveâs significant other, James selflessly volunteers to aid in her quest, protecting her and cherishing her throughout the arduous journey, putting his life at risk for a girl who would never love him back. Unselfishly, he continues forward without drawing any attention to the deep love he holds for her, the audience kept in suspense of his mysterious ambitionsâ that is, until the dream sequence. In his sleep, influenced by the surrounding, foreign plantsâ effects, James dreams of his ideal future, one where he gets to marry his love, who will reciprocate his feelings wholeheartedly. Itâs the moment all audience members realise Jamesâ true motivations, encouraging a swell of heartache amongst them when they are forced to accept the reality his own character is made to face: that he cannot be with his love no matter despite his efforts. Her heart belongs to another and if he were to fall for the plantâs trap, he will never wake up from his heavenly dream-come-true and become living fertilsier to continue the plantâs life. The heartache of that realisation is further emphasised when James doesnât stop loving her in his own, silent and benevolent way.Â
This is going to be a big moment for Jamesâ character; he needs to put his all into this!
Before he has the chance to open his eyes, however, James is already being led to his spot on the set by Remus. The brunette informs him that the short break is over and instructs him to start before his turn to face Marlene.Â
âAgain, the shotâs focus will be on your face, James, Make it a good one,â Sirius instructs from his directorâs chair and, with a small pause cues for the start of the hundredth take.
Opening his eyes gradually, as if waking up from a dream, James takes a moment to analyse his surroundings. He meets the eyes of his groomsmen, shooting them a confused look before slowly turning and raising his gaze. Heâs become familiar with Marlene in her wedding dress now so her off-centred placement doesnât deter him. He also fully trusts in the team, if they saw it fit to make any changes, heâll help follow through. Marlene is only slightly off centre, he realises, to accommodate the cameraâs view of his expression more clearly. James fully expects to only see Marlene, however, when he finally raises his gaze, in the distance, he sees you by the camera.Â
And James immediately smiles.Â
He completely forgets where he is, rather, he savours the warmth that fills his chest at the sight of you, the burst of elation in his brain when he sees you smiling at him, dressed in his oversized sweater and your casual jeans. Youâre not in a wedding dress nor dolled up the same way Marlene is for the take but youâre just as gorgeous. Thereâs a tingling itch in his fingertips to reach out for you and he almost does but stops when he remembers where he is and whatâs happening around him. His look of sweeping joy and deep affection falters ever so slightly but is completely captured by the cameraâs close-up shot. Jamesâ internal berating of another failed performance barely begins when Sirius is suddenly cheering in delight.Â
âCUT! AND PRINT!â Sirius claps and laughs at the success but James is left blinking in confusion. Did he hallucinate you? He looks in your direction again. No, you werenât a figment of his imagination, youâre really here! âFinally! That was what I was looking for! Great idea on putting her beside the camera, Moony,âÂ
Remus nods his head in graceful humility as you giggle from where you stand. You had planned a surprise visit for James and called Remus beforehand for access to the set. It was the perfect surprise considering you had barely seen each other the last few weeks; he was busy filming with Sirius and Marlene while you were recording songs for your new, up-and-coming album. That only seemed to add to Jamesâ favourable reaction, however.Â
âBREAK!â Sirius announces with a wink directed at you, âLet's give the two love birds a moment, as thanks for finally getting the job done. Letâs give it ten!â it seemed as though succeeding after multiple failures had made Sirius a little too happy and laidback but who was James to complain? As Marlene knowingly smirks at him, he runs past and launches himself at you. With a squeal, you return his embrace and giggle into his shoulder.Â
âI missed youâŚâ he whispers into your crown.
âSurprise!â you announce despite the lateness and giggle again. Music to his ears.Â
âThanks for helping me with my scene, love,â he pulls away with deep affection swimming in his hazel eyes and he cups your jaw while resisting the urge lean in and kiss you endlessly. He loves the sound of your voice just as much as the feel of your lips against his own so, for now, heâll willing listen. He can taste your sweet lips later. Â
âI didnât really know what was happening but Iâm happy to help,âÂ
âYouâre so cute,â he sighs and finally pulls you into passion-filled kiss before you can utter another word. "I can't believe you're my lady,"
"Your lady?"
"Yes," James giggles and kisses your cheek again and again and again, "my lady, the same way, I'm your man,"
"Mmm, sounds good," you utter against his lips, "I'll have to feature you in my new music video then~"
â
Ëâ⧠ଳ â§âË â
â

â...tell me about that scene. It was such a big moment for the audience and your character. How did you manage to look so in love but then so heartbroken?â the interviewer asks, smiling but tilting his head in curiosity when Marlene burst out laughing.Â
âOh, this is such a good story!â James looks away, unable to meet his co-star and friendâs mischievous smirk and glimmering eyes, âCan I tell him?â she doesnât even give him the chance to answer before ingeminating the tale, âJames couldnât get that moment right for multiple takes. We were all getting tired of him, really. But since Sirius knew he was capable of being a love-drunk fool, he persisted for over an hour! And this is just for a one minute section of the film!â James finally chuckles despite his flustered expression when Marlene makes a side comment about how the wedding dress was a chore to wear for such an extended period of time and didnât appreciate Jamesâ slow uptake, âthere wasnât even an after-party for me to let loose in, my supposed âgroomâ had his brain elsewhere,â the two share a laugh and James picks up on the story.Â
âElsewhere, meaning my girlfriend. She actually planned a surprise visit during filming and was brought in by Remus. He put her right by the camera and the reaction you saw on film was my reaction to seeing her instead of Marlene.â his co-star coos at how adorable he is whenever heâs around you and gossips with the interviewer about how cute of a couple the two of you make behind the scenes.Â
âIs that why youâve become her love interest in the music videos for her new album?â the interviewer asks impromptu. Heâs on the edge of his seat and is a clear fan of your music, which makes James happier than if the man was to say he was a fan of him. Â
âNaturally,â James smiles to himself, âshe did say I was the inspiration for her love ballads,â
NAVI.
A/N : this was inspired by this tiktok and a daydream i had! the anime is called 'Frieren: Beyond Journey's End', I've never watched it but it was on my fyp, i did some exploring and, now, here i am (ŕšËĚę´ËĚŕš) i hope you darlings enjoyed the read!

Cw: modern au, Rockstar!Eddie x Pop!princes wife reader. Age gap, Eddie is a filthy simp for his girl, soft!Dom Eddie (sir), oral (f receiving), p in v (unprotected), small bit of anal fingering. Talks of pregnancy.
2.3kwords
We are back baby!!! From the Wildflower universe, if you want more of the lore on these two.
âYou ready, Angel?â Your husband smiles at you.
Husband, it still has a nice ring to it. Youâve been married just under a year. Giving birth to your little one put the wedding on the back burner, but you started the wedding planning once Lila Rose was 7 months old.
âYeah, I think so,â you smile. Youâre already in your hair and makeup, just waiting for your turn to get on stage.
The rowdy crowd of music festival goers grow impatient as the crew tirelessly works to remove the previous acts' set design.
âYou think theyâre going to like the new song?â You fiddle with the bedazzled mic in your hands.
âYou kidding me? Theyâre going to love it!â
Eddie always encouraged your work, even if it wasnât his thing. He loved every song because it was yours.
âAll performers take their mark,â you hear the stage director in your ear.
You give Eddie one quick kiss and make your way to the stage.
The set went perfectly, but the riding anticipation of the new single was still in the back of your mind.
âOkay, Coachella! Iâm going to need you to help me out with something.â You smile. âThis is my last song of the night, and itâs brand new, so Iâm a bit nervous.â You pace the stage.
âNow I have a special someone backstage with me, and I know he wonât come out unless we pressure him, so Iâm going to need your help, okay?â you walk over to side stage and look him in the eye
You knew he would kill you, but you needed him for the extra moral support, and you kinda had a plan up your sleeve.
âCome on out, Eddie, baby,â you smile, and the crow starts to chant Eddieâs name.
Feeling embarrassed and a bit proud of you for getting what you wanted. Eddie stocks onto the stage, giving a small wave, not wanting this to be about him.
âSit,â you speak into the mic and point to the fold-out chair in centre stage.
Eddie sits, and before he can protest anymore, he hears the first few beats of the music.
âNice,â you sing in your breathy tone your husband canât get enough of.
Now he's thinkin' 'bout me every night, oh Is it that sweet? I guess so Say you can't sleep, baby, I know That's that me, espresso Move it up, down, left, right, oh Switch it up like Nintendo
Eddie really loved that last lyric. He thought it was very clever of you because he knew it was about him and how he eats you out.
Say you can't sleep, baby, I know That's that me, espresso.
You and your dancers moved to the beat without missing a step.
I can't relate to desperation My 'give a fucks' are on vacation And I got this one boy
You turn to your husband and wink.
And he won't stop calling
You take a few short steps around to the back of the chair.
When they act this way
You lean in from behind and run your free hand down his shoulder to his chest and back up.
I know I got 'em
You swear you hear him moan.
I'm working late 'cause I'm a singer
You twirl your hair around your finger, then summon Eddie to come closer.
Oh, he looks so cute wrapped around my finger
He gets up and follows you like a puppy as you strut across the stage. My twisted humor, make him laugh so often My honey bee, come and get this pollen.
You flick up the edge of your mini skirt, and Eddie can see the lacy underwear beneath your stockings.
He needs this song to be over so he can finally have you. You've been rehearsing for this moment for months now. Stressing over it and with the baby, you and him have had hardly any time to have sex like you used to.
He's thinkin' 'bout me every night, oh Is it that sweet? I guess so Say you can't sleep, baby, I know That's that me, espresso Move it up, down, left, right, oh Switch it up like Nintendo Say you can't sleep, baby, I know That's that me, espresso
Eddie is back in his seat by the second bridge, and your dancing is driving him absolutely crazy. You know what you are doing. He can see it in your eyes; your mischievous gaze tells him you had this all planned out. You probably faked being nervous just to get him out here so you could seduce him.
Eddie was losing the battle of not getting hard in front of the thousands of fans watching. He couldn't help it; his bombshell of a wife was so irresistible.
Is it that sweet? I guess so That's that me, espresso
Eddie listened as you thanked the crowd. He took your hand and yanked you off stage once he thought it had been enough time for your final bow, letting you soak in this moment before he whisked you away.
âEddie!â You squeal while trying to keep up with him in your platform go-go boots.
âGotta have, you know,â he growls in your ear so only you can hear.
âReally baby? I worked you up that much?â You swoon.
After all this time, Eddie still makes your heart flutter. You never thought soulmates existed, but when you met Eddie, all that changed- especially after having his baby. The way he was with your newborn had you wanting to jump his bones before the doctor okayed you for sex again.
The trailer was close but not close enough in Eddieâs eyes. A thin sheen of sweat was starting to form on Eddieâs brow, and he couldnât tell if it was from the hot Californian sun or the fact that his cock was about to bust through his jeans, and he was trying not to have anyone notice.
âGet out,â Eddie commands as the trailer door swings back. Eddie opens it so hard.
Your team looks startled as you and Eddie enter the small space.
You give them an apologetic look and they place down their stuff and leave you both alone.
âYou were perfect up there.â he pulls you in for a kiss. âSo fucking proud of you.â He kisses down your neck.
âMmmm, thank you, babyâ
âYouâre a goddamn succubus, you know that, Angel?â Eddie shuts the door behind them and locks it before drawing the blinds.
âIs that right? Mr. Munson.â
âOh, it is, Mrs. Munson.â Eddie pulls you in by the waist for a heated kiss. Still, after all this time, you both were so greedy for one another. Nothing can ever break the bond between the both of you⌠not again.
âGod, Angel, you were a goddamn tease on that stage; you got me looking like a simp.â
You pull back, curious as to where he had heard that term.
âSimp?â
âVR tells me things.â Violet Rose, Eddie's oldest, whom youâve adopted, is now twenty two.
âOkay, old man,â you giggle, and he walks you back to the sofa in the trailerâs back corner.
âEnough talking, more kissing.â
Your tailored dress, made just for you, was not easy to strip. Eddie was having a hell of a time trying to get out of it, only to groan when he saw your pantyhose as another barrier.
âWhy do they make these things so tight.â He grumbles as you giggle at him.
âYou werenât complaining about it ten minutes ago,â you snide.
âDonât make me put you over my knee.â He smirks.
âNo, Sir,â you put your lip.
Finally, once you are out of your garments, Eddie kneels right between your legs.
âBaby, youâre going to hurt your knees,â You push his long hair back. âWhy donât we go -OH - to the couchâ Not listening, his lips are already on your throbbing cunt.
The plus from your clit was relieved as Eddieâs tongue grazes it before quickly lapping and flicking at it.
âOh fuck!â Your legs buckle, and your grip on Eddieâs hair tightens. He growls at the pain in his scalp, but he loves it all the same.
You feel his tongue go down, then to the left, then the right and finally circles your clit.
âMmmmm, tastes so good, Angelâ
âPlease donât stop!â
You feel Eddie's skilled tongue glide through your slick folds before you feel his hands nudge your legs, signalling to open them wider.
Eddieâs thick long fingers pump up into your warm wet cunt until youâre losing the battle to say upright. Your body is hunched over as Eddie sends waves of pleasure through you.
âMmmm, thatâs it, thatâs my good girl. Cum for me.â The pads of his fingers graze you g spot each time. He doesnât stop until he knows you are satisfied.
âThat was a big one, baby; singing for me, go, you all worked up, didnât it?â He stands and leads you to the couch until youâre lying down, legs spread nice and wide for him.
âMmmhmmm,â you hum as you watch Eddie finally strip.
His body never looked better; he wants to be the healthiest to watch your baby grow up and maybe put another one in you soon.
âYou ready for me, sweetheart?â
âYes, sir, more than ready.â And it was true; itâs been a few weeks since youâve had time to have sex, and it was long overdue.
All the pent-up sexual tension between the both of you is finally being released when Eddie's hard cock slides into yours effortlessly.
âFuck I missed my pussy, baby girl.â His head tilts back, and you take the opportunity to suck on his neck, just as you know he likes it.
âSo fucking beautifulâ his cock pumped in and quickly backed out.
The tip of his dick ring never failed to make you see stars. Already youâre a moaning mess for him, cock drunk, and itâs not even been a minute yet.
âThere she is, thereâs my good girlâ Eddie palms your tit as he continues to thrust deep inside of you. He watches your eyes roll to the back of your head, blissed out by how he makes you feel.
âMoreâ you moan.
âMore what?â
âSir, please, I need you. Baby, I love you. I love you, please, I need it.â You babble.
Eddie's heart swells. He loves you so much he would give you the moon and stars if he could. Hearing you love him, especially when the two of you are like this, really makes him kick into high gear.
He will never take for granted those three words when you say them to him; your past is too painful not to.
âTell me what you need, baby girl.â
âFill me.â You pull him down into a kiss. Your tongue explores his mouth.
His hand that was planted on your waist is now travelling lower to your ass.
âThis what you wanted, baby? All of your holes filled?â His finger teases your puckered hole.
âYes!â You gasp.
âI think that can be arranged. Suckâ he points his finger at your face, and you take as much of it in your mouth. You suck on it until itâs dripping with your saliva.
âSuch a dirty girl, letting me fuck you and play with your ass hole.â His finger slowly glides in, and he pumps it to match the rhythm of his thrusts. âIsnât that right?â
âYes, sir!â
âGod, I love you.â Eddie canât help but to fuck you frivolously. The sound of wet skin slapping together filled the thin walls of the trailer.
âPlease, please, please.â You were so close you could feel the pit building.
The pressure of his piercing brushing your g spot with every heavy thrust, each shape snap of his hips making him slide deep inside-mixed with the pressure of his finger pressed deep inside of you was bringing you to the edge of bliss.
âYou going to come when I tell you to, Angel?â
âI canât-canât hold it!â
âYes, you can,â he growls.
âF-fuck,â you curse him. You canât hold it for much longer.
âMmm, thatâs right, babygirl. Youâre going to listen to what I tell you.â
Your pussy naturally grips Eddie's cock so tight he almost loses it.
âPlease, Sir. I want to cum. Please!â
The look in your eyes has Eddie reeling. The way you beg and submit to him, his perfect girl. His perfect wife, the perfect mother to his children.
âCumâ he growls, and you let out a cry of relief.
With your arms wrapped around the back of Eddie's neck, you pull him down into you on instinct. His body weight pressed into you, and your cunt grips his cock so deliciously Eddie is coming with you.
âShit, baby girl, I think you nearly killed me that time,â Eddie chuckles as his legs give out and his total weight collapses on top of you.
You giggle dumbly as Eddie plants kisses all over your face.
You look up; his face is red and sweaty, but heâs never looked more beautiful.
âThat was long overdue.â You sigh with relief.
âYouâre telling me,â he chuckles with you.â âLetâs get you cleaned up, mama.â
âYou trying to knock me up, Munson?â Deep down, youâd love to have another baby.
âWhat if I was?â He looks back over his shoulder, catching you checking out his juicy ass.
âThen Iâd say we should keep practicing.â
âWait for real?â
âYouâre no,t getting any younger, â you giggle.
âOh, you little minx, youâre in for it.â He runs back towards you, lifts you off the couch, and plops you in his lap.
âIâm sorry!â You laugh as Eddie tickles your sides.
âYou really want to start trying?â He asks genuinely.
âYeah,â you nod.
âGuess itâs time for round two, gotta make sure it really sticks.â

⎠a/n: i'm a yapper sorry, but happiest birthday to heeseung <3 that's my pookie! i love u.
four months ago.
"you're getting married?"
you and heeseung had been best friends for nearly twenty years. the two of you met at a park during a winter storm, both of you having begged your mothers for a chance to go see the snow. a coincidence really, the two of you having somehow lived the same experience (one that heeseung was convinced was fate, while you just boiled it down to two four-year-old kids giving into the natural urge to plunge their grubby little fingers into cold, unforgiving snow.)
however, in the last few years, you'd grown apart.Â
you were freshly out of university, and heeseung had recently taken a job as a backup vocalist for one of the local entertainment companies. he'd been a singer his entire life, something you never allowed yourself to pick up because your mother had always taught you that safety nets were better. while heeseung openly explored his talents, eventually learning guitar and slowly, piano - you buried yourself in mathematical equations that made your brain hurt but forced yourself through it all because, after all, you needed a plan.
heeseung lived life on the edge. he didn't care if he had money, if he had belongings - life was more than that to him. he ventured out into the city with nothing but his headphones sometimes, not even so much as bothering to bring an umbrella if it looked like rain. "if i get soaked, i get soaked! life is more than staying inside with your head heavy from studying." he told you once, and you had just shaken your head.
"come on, y/n! don't you want to dance in the rain? don't you want to risk getting sick and having your mom make you that soup you really like? live a little, life is too short to waste away in our bedrooms." he tugged you out of your house that day, making you leave your phone behind as you trekked the entire city by foot, and once the rain did start falling, you were a mile from your house. "heeseung, i can't get sick! i have a presentationâ"
"screw that presentation! live in the now!" he held you close as the rain pelted your backs, spinning you around as your laughter echoed in the neighborhood. "isn't this fun! aren't you enjoying this newfound freedom, no expectations? no logarithms, no polynomials!" he exclaimed, making you only laugh harder. "hee, i'm a finance major. that is fun for me!"
"and i'm a y/n major, i know you fucking hate math!" he giggled as he set you down, his fingers brushing your wet hair off your face. "i don't have things like you do, hee! i need a plan, i need something to fall back on. you work to make money to invest into yourself, you don't follow dreams!" you say as the two of you make the route back to your house, making him scoff.
"are you saying i'm wasting my time living the way i do?" he asked, a twang of hurt in his voice going unnoticed by you as you nodded. "i do. i think you are wasting your potential." your words pierced him, but he said nothing more as the two of you reached your mom's house. "see you later, hee."
"see you later."
that had happened three years ago. heeseung noticeably distanced himself after that day, limiting your hangouts to once a week instead of dropping by whenever he felt like it. soon, what were weekly hangouts became biweekly, before you were only meeting him for dinner on a random wednesday night in the middle of the month. you never asked so he never explained, and he simply assumed your silence on the subject meant that your puzzle of a life no longer had a need for a lee heeseung-shaped piece.
it pained him to think that you were outgrowing him.
heeseung was taking classes while working, having finally let your words get to him. you were right, in a way - he couldn't live his life on the edge forever, but the fact that you actually said that to him after constantly reassuring him that you believed in him was...unexpected, to say the least.
"she's just worried about you, hee." his older brother rattled, and heeseung shook his head. he had long told him about that day, and continued to try and decipher it for the years after. he didnât really understand why it bothered him so much, but his only guess was the same â you had pretended to have an interest in his life, but yet, just like everyone elseâŚ
âŚyou had no faith in him.
âyes, hee, iâm getting married! focus!â you tapped your pen on the notepad in front of you, the ice in your matcha long melted. heeseung was gripping his mug of hot chocolate for dear life, wondering where he missed the fact that you were even in a relationship to begin with. âi didnât even know you had a boyfriend, forgive me for being curious.â he scoffs, making you roll your eyes.
âyou would know if you answered any of my calls.â you say pointedly, making him groan. âokay, sorry iâve been so absent from your life. whatâs this guyâs name anyway?â
âsim jaeyun. you can call him jake.â you scribble something onto the notepad, before tearing it off and handing it to him. âthis is his number, youâre going to have to talk to him at some point for what iâm about to ask you.â
your smile is mischievous, one that heeseung could never forget. it was engraved in his memory, it lit up his dreams and haunted his nightmares. the same smile heâs written endless lyrics about, the same smile heâs fallen in love with but refused to admit it.
ây/n, i havenât seen you in six months. how can someone possibly gauge if a person is marriage material in such a short time?â he argues as he folds the scrap of yellow paper. you huff with a frustrated look on your face, âjaeyun and i have been seeing each other for a year! we made it official nine months ago, and weâve been engaged for three months! i told you this already!â
âwhen the fuck did you even mention him!?â he groans, and you click your pen angrily.
"hee, if you hadn't been so focused on your own life, you'd be up to date with mine." grimacing, you reach into the knapsack you brought with you. pulling out a pink binder, you set it on the table, facing him. the paper sheet behind the vinyl reads the sims - may 2026.Â
he snorts inwardly, before you open the binder. "i know we haven't been as close as we'd like the past few years." you start, clearing your throat as he glances at you. you pull apart the binder rings, pulling out a folder as you continue to speak. "but, i know that you're still doing the singing thing, and i wanted to offer you a gig."
sliding the folder across to him, he glances down at it. it's thick with pieces of printer paper, lyrics typed neatly in times new roman. he recognizes the first song as he slips it out of the folder, his eyes scanning the sheet over and over.Â
"you want me to sing at your wedding?" he asks incredulously, and you take a sip of your watered down matcha. you press your lips together as you nod, staring at your fingers. "i showed jaeyun some clips of yours from a few of your other gigs, and he really liked it. this is our song, and we want you to sing it for our first dance." you tap the paper with your pen, and heeseung sighs.
"then why are we here alone? why isn't he here, showing face and asking me with you?" he accuses, and your frown is deep enough that he's sure you're about to throw your drink at him. "he's at work, if you must know. he's busy."
"and what does he work in that he can't come with his future wife to a measly two-hour lunch?" he taps his finger on the table, his eyes boring into yours, searching for any sign of the best friend he'd become estranged from. you weren't there.
"he's..." you bite your lip, staring at whatever was behind him in order not to meet his eyes. he looks at you pointedly, brows raised in expectation - a look he'd always hated from other people. you grimace before responding. "he's a singer, he's recording his album right now." heeseung blinks slowly, something you knew meant he was about to either get up and leave, or he was going to scold you once he processed the information. your best friend was nothing short of an open book, but as he looked down at the sheet in his hand and shook his head, you suddenly couldn't read him anymore.
"after all the shit you gave me." his tongue drips with poison before he shoves the sheet of paper back in the folder, tapping it with his hand before grimacing. "when is the wedding? do i have to be there for the whole thing?" his eyes are full of fire as he stares at you, and you can feel yourself shrink under his gaze. heeseung was rarely ever mad at you, even during these years of estrangement. you were never really on the receiving end of his anger, so you never handled it. "may second. you don't have to stay, if you don't want to. but i'd love for you to be there." your words are softer than you intended, and you can really feel the tug on the invisible string that ties the two of you together.
he nods, pressing his lips together as you watch his eyes brim with tears. "okay." he looks away as the first tear falls, wiping it away quickly before getting up. "justâŚsend me the address when the time comes." he tucks the folder under his arm as he quickly walks away, trying not to let any more tears fall as he exits the cafe.
he can't help but hold everything in as he walks to his apartment, his mind spinning with potential thoughts. when did you get so far? how did he let you stray so deeply, and where did you even meet this guy? why didn't you tell him sooner? or did you, and he just blocked it out? he can't remember, no matter how hard he skims his memory. "fuck!" he screams as he slams his door shut, throwing the folder onto the table in the foyer.Â
he slides down the door, a sinking feeling taking over his stomach as he hits the cold tile. he can't help but sob into his hands, his shoulders shaking violently as he does. you're getting married and he missed the entire thing, he's missed the past year of your life and has no remorse in doing so. he only feels sorry now, now that he's realized he's too late.
april 30.
heeseung was increasingly stressed.
you had told him over text (because he wouldn't answer your calls) that he had to take the week off so he could participate in bonding activities with your fiancĂŠ's groomsmen. he'd been reluctant, and said he'd get there the thursday before the wedding, nothing sooner â making you upset. he didn't care, he wouldn't lie to himself â he felt betrayed that you were getting married to someone else. it was childish of him and he knew it, but as he aimlessly wandered jeju island alone â it only sank deeper into his bones that he had truly fucked up.
he didn't bother to bond with any of your bridesmaids, either â despite their starry eyes and warm smiles, he could only see the dread in your eyes, the twitch in your lower lip as you greeted your guests with your fiancĂŠ. he kept his hand on your lower back at all times, and heeseung wonders if jake knows that he did that in the past. heeseung wonders if jake knows that he held your hand as you both skipped through the sand on family vacations with your families, heeseung wonders if jake knows that he shared a bed with you on nights where thunderstorms would scare you out of your sleep and heeseung would run the three blocks to your house to comfort you.
heeseung wonders if jake knows that he was your first kiss, in the back of heeseung's '96 civic when you were both juniors in high school. heeseung wonders if jake knows that he is in love with you, and that he wasn't sure he'd ever be able to stop.
not that jake knowing any of this would matter, because come saturday night, you'd be out of his grasp forever. he would never place his hand on the small of your back to ease your nerves, he would never hold your hand, he would never share a bed with you. he would never kiss you again, and he'd rather never see you again if it were up to him.
but it wasn't, was it? "heeseung! you made it!"Â
heeseung turns to see park sunghoon walking towards him with his hand shielding his eyes from the sun. "oh shit, hey! i didn't think you and y/n kept in touch after high school, it's great to see you." heeseung greets him, and sunghoon snorts.Â
"we didn't, actually. jaeyun and i go way back." sunghoon nods. sunghoon had been a friend of the two of you, but it was hard to keep in touch due to his prominent ice skating career. he was always busy, and it was easier to cut ropes than continuously make promises to see each other only to fall short.
"i'm sorry i didn't reach out more." heeseung starts, but sunghoon shakes his head. "don't even worry about it! my life was too crazy to keep tabs on everybody." sunghoon shakes his head, and heeseung tilts his head at him. "was?" sunghoon shifts in the sand, picking his cuticles as he sighs. "i had to quit, i got injured pretty badly during the finale of my last competition. i won, though, so at least i went out with a bang." he shrugs, and heeseung can see the disappointment in his eyes before offering a hug. "i'm sorry, hoon. that really fucking sucks."
sunghoon rejects the hug with a shake of his head. "it's fine, i'm doing other things now. i work as a backup vocalist for jake, me and jay. oh, jay's here, too! have you seen him?" sunghoon gestures to the air, and heeseung offers a small smile before shaking his head. "haven't seen him yet. to be honest, i don't want to be here." heeseung's confession, if surprising, doesn't seem to faze sunghoon. instead, the younger boy nods. "i figured you wouldn't. you're singing for them, right? i heard through the grapevine." sunghoon smirks, and heeseung rolls his eyes before lightly punching his arm. "stop lying, you brat. you read it on the wedding program."
sunghoon gives him a soft pat on the back, before leaning closer. "she wasn't going to wait forever, heeseung." with a curt nod, sunghoon continues down the beach towards the resort, leaving heeseung with wide eyes and a heavy heart. what did he mean by that?

the night was heavy as the last of your guests straggled in, and your feet were swelling in your shoes from standing for so long. jake had offered to take over as you went up to your room to change them, and you were internally thanking him as you hobbled to the elevator.
only for you to arrive and see your best friend waiting there calmly, headphones over his ears as he softly nods along to whatever is playing. he looks up when the elevator finally opens, completely oblivious to your lingering presence behind him. it's only when you get in after him, feeling the shift of the elevator's floor, that he looks at you.
his eyes are unreadable as he skims them over your face, a soft tilt to his head before he presses button six, hand hovering over the button as he waits for you to speak. you put up five fingers, and he presses it carefully as the doors close. it's silent, and for the first time ever since you were four years old, heeseung feels like a stranger. a polite stranger that presses the elevator button for you, that has come all the way from seoul on a ferry to sing at his estranged best friend's wedding.
except he's not a stranger, and you're the estranged best friend getting married this weekend. you're the estranged best friend who lied about your fiancÊ being excited for him to sing your first dance song, and you're the estranged best friend who wants it to hurt him. you want it to hurt, seeing you dance with your soon-to-be husband all night, you want it to burn in his chest when the two of you kiss at the end of the aisle.
you want him to ache as badly as you did when he basically abandoned you for no good reason. you want him to stay up all night in tears like you did when he wouldn't answer your calls, you want him to rant passionately about you to whoever gets the privilege of being his girlfriend like you did to jake when the two of you first started dating, and you want him to ignore the questions of if you're in love with each other.
just like you did.
loving heeseung was a thing of the past. he was out of your heart and out of your head, for the most part. you only ever thought of him when you'd talk to jake about old high school stories, skipping over the parts where you and heeseung shared loving caresses that the two of you convinced yourselves were nothing more than platonic. it didn't matter now, though, because there was no piece shaped like you in heeseung's puzzling life anymore.
you love jake. he's your endgame, and you're glad to be marrying him.
"are you excited? big day soon." he says gently, and you can feel your stomach turn as he nudges you with his elbow. you nod, a small smile on your lips as you glance down at your engagement ring. jake had it custom made, a marquise diamond nestled onto a thick gold band. it was a little tight, but you promised yourself you'd get it resized after the wedding.
"very excited. are you nervous? about your performance, i mean?" you ask, genuine concern in your voice as he shakes his head. "just another gig, really. it's special to you, though, so i've been putting my all into the rehearsals." he itches his neck, a nervous tick you'd picked up on through the years. you nod, patting his shoulder gently. the conversation stops as the elevator does, the number five on the elevator's neon sign.Â
"my stop. i'll see you at the rehearsal dinner tomorrow, right? you need to be there." your eyes are pleading, and heeseung can't help but sigh. "i'll try."Â
the answer doesn't seem to satisfy you, but you nod anyway, turning on your heels to go to your room. the doors close, and he lets out a shaky breath. you're very excited to marry sim jaeyun in less than thirty-six hours. you're very excited to be mrs. sim, you're very excited to have your first dance with your husband to the sound of your best friend's voice singing the song that reminds you and jake of your relationship.Â
a song that insinuates the two of you are unbelievably high off each other in every which way, and how ruined one of you has made the other for anybody else. but this song doesn't take into consideration how he is ruined for anyone else, how he is in pieces at the mere thought of you wearing white while meeting someone else down the aisle.
he doesn't want to feel like that anymore.
may 01.
"hey! you must be heeseung, i've been waiting forever to meet you!"Â
heeseung doesn't recognize the voice as he turns, eyes swollen with sleep when he looks to see you, and who he presumes to be sim jaeyun. he nods absently, before glancing at his cup of hot water. he'd stumbled down to the hotel's complimentary lounge, a packet of fennel mint tea in his hand.
"give me a moment, i'm sorry. i'm barely here." he apologizes sheepishly, tearing the bag open and dipping the bag into the cup. he wipes at his eyes once more, before turning to face a smiling jake. "you're jaeyun, right? nice to finally meet you man, y/n has said some awesome things about you."
lies. heeseung doesn't remember a single thing you have ever said about jake, just that he's a singer. but out of courtesy, and jake's business-like grip on his hand, he smiles through it anyway. "i heard that you asked for me specifically. your wedding song is beautiful." heeseung sees you wince out of the corner of his eye as jake looks a bit taken aback. he tilts his head slightly, but goes along with what heeseung now knows is a lie. "i'm glad you could make it. y/n talks a lot about your singing skills, are you working on any projects right now?" your face is pained as heeseung looks you dead in the eyes, "no, i'm just a backup vocalist. i gave up on that dream a while ago." he looks back at jake, who has a sad smile on his face. "the fame, the moneyâŚi was never suited for that life, anyway." "i'm sorry to hear that things didn't work out for you." jake sounds genuine, a flash of sadness in his eyes as he shakes heeseung's hand again. "i hope to see you at the rehearsal tonight. have you got a girlfriend? there'll be quite a few people at our singles' table." jake wiggles his brows and heeseung wonders when you're going to speak.
"actually, heeseung won't be able to stay. he's got another gig on sunday." you lie, and jake's eyes widen. "oh, you'll be missing our reception?" "i'll be leaving right after your dance, i do sincerely apologize." heeseung gives jake a sheepish grin, to which jake nods slowly. "that's unfortunate, there's a lot of people you could network with here! take advantage of it, dreams are meant to become reality." jake finalizes, before giving heeseung another warm smile.
"i will do my best! thank you for having me." heeseung says, and you can feel the fake tone of happiness in his voice seep into your bones. you'd been the only person to ever recognize it, and heeseung knows you're aware he used it as he takes the tea bag out of his mug. "i will see you both tonight."Â
he spins on his heel as he hears jake whisper to you.
"you asked him to sing our song? when? why didn't you tell me?" "we can talk about this later, okay? he's really good, i promise."
đ â đ â đ â đ â đ â đ â đ â đ â đ â đ â đ â đ â đ â đ â đ â đ
your mother had been staring at heeseung for the last fifteen minutes, and heeseung was almost sure she was trying to figure out if he was who she thought he was. he gave her a small smile and waved, and the moment her eyes lit up, the person in front of her turned.
jake. he frowns as she walks away from him mid-conversation, stumbling over only moments before the rehearsal dinner is set to start.
"sorry, sweetie. i didn't know you and my y/n finally made up! it's so good to see you!" her embrace is crushing, and heeseung doesn't have the heart to tell your mother that you're a horrible liar. you hadn't 'made up' â he was simply doing you a favor, something else you'd lied about. he just smiles as she pulls back, ruffling his hair gently. "love the red, it really suits you." "thank you, auntie. it's nice to see you again." he remains relaxed as he sees her eyes soften. "what's wrong? not ready to see your little girl walk down the aisle?" he teases, and the older woman sighs inwardly. she turns, her shoulder brushing his as they stare into the room full of tipsy bridesmaids and boisterous groomsmen. "if i admit something to you, you'll keep it quiet, right?" she murmurs, and heeseung suddenly feels like this conversation isn't going to be one that favors his unruly feelings for you. "of course, auntie. who am i to tell?" "i always thought you'd be the one to marry my y/n." she sighs, clasping her hands in front of her as her eyes watch jake speaking to you gently as he hands you a glass of wine. heeseung's eyes follow hers and the two of them can see as your face falls and jake quickly moves to hide you from any lingering gazes. "i should go see what's wrong. it's nice to see you, heeseung. please enjoy the wedding!" he nods as your mother quickly crosses the room, her arm around you as jake gets pushed to entertain the guests while you get taken care of. jake looks nervous, and heeseung can't seem to stop his body as he also crosses the room, a small smile on his face. "good evening, jake." "oh, hey! how are you liking the venue so far?" a small flash of relief passes onto his face, and heeseung feels guilty as he shrugs. "it's what i expected for someone like y/n. so floral, so bright. are you sure you had any part in this?" he snickers, and jake laughs genuinely.
"she wouldn't let me even look at the flowers with her. babe, you're going to pick the wrong ones!" he imitates you, and heeseung shakes his head in amusement. you'd always been a bit of a control freak when it came to your visions, and now that your life revolved around financial decisions, you were wound up extra tight. "yeah, she's always been like that." he sighs, and jake doesn't miss the slight tone of sadness.
"listen, i don't know you very well," jake starts, reaching for a bottle of cabernet across the table. he grabs two glasses, uncorking the wine as he leans to pour. "but i want to say thank you." he holds the wine out to heeseung, and he tries not to look curious as he takes it.
"thank you for what?" heeseung asks, and jake gives him a pointed look as he blindly pours his own glass.Â
"for taking care of y/n all these years. i know you and i probably won't be the best of friends, i'm the first to admit that i'm not very good at sharing her attention." jake grimaces to himself as he replaces the cork into the bottle. "but i'm glad that she has someone as reliable as you, that can just⌠be there for her. it's a beautiful thing, your friendship."
heeseung almost feels nauseous as jake continues talking about how sweet your lifelong friendship with him seems. it just confirms that you told jake everything and anything you could about it, and based on his mention of jealousy, that includes the first kiss you shared. he can barely hear jake over the sound of his heart beating in his ears, but understands enough when jake pats his shoulder.
"...and i figured i'd be honest. y/n didn't say anything about you singing our song, we had originally planned for sunghoon to sing it with the band we hired. i guess she thought you'd be better for it, and i trust her judgment." jake says, pulling heeseung back in. "oh, i'm sorry." "don't even worry about it, man. hey, why don't you just relax, enjoy the dinner tonight. tomorrow is going to hit us like a fucking train, we should be well rested today." jake nods, and heeseung reciprocates with a gentle smile as someone else calls for jake's attention. "remember, just chill! network!" jake gestures to the room as he walks backwards towards the people looking for him.
heeseung can't shake the nausea from his throat, setting down the glass of wine to wander to the bathroom. but, the hall seems to get longer and longer, the temperature changing from the cold air conditioning to the humid spring air. he can feel a breeze in his hair, and then he realizes he's on the beach. his feet are buried in the warm sand, shoes in his hand.
sighing, he reminds himself he can't zone out like that all the time. it's not healthy, you had told him once. what if you end up in the middle of nowhere?
he reaches into his pocket, pulled out his spare headphones. he was supposed to bond with everyone at your stupid rehearsal dinner, but he didn't care to do so as he stared at the crashing waves. plugging the headphones into his phone, he gently speaks to siri as he lays on his back, looking up at the cloudless sky.
"hey, siri. play are we still friends? by tyler, the creator."
he stares into the water as the song pours into his ears. he doesn't know where things went to shit, but he knows it's his fault. he should've told you that what you said hurt his feelings. he should have communicated, then maybe it'd be him sitting next you in the private jet your mother rented solely for your honeymoon escape after the reception.
maybe it'd be him spinning you around in your beautiful wedding dress, and whispering sweet nothings in your ear as you dance the night away. maybe it would be him, like your mom had hoped. maybe it would be him, like he had hoped, too.
his fingers dig into the sand as he swallows the lump in his throat. there is nothing in hell, heaven or earth that would stop you from trekking the aisle tomorrow afternoon. nothing would stop jake from kissing you tenderly right in front of him, and doing it for the rest of your lives. it would taunt him, it would haunt him like the ghost of your friendship. you weren't friends anymore, the two of you knew it. things would never be the same between you, and yet, neither of you was brave enough to ask the question.
why?
"heeseung! are you out here?!" he can hear sunghoon's voice over the fourth replay of the song, lowering the volume as he tilts his head to find him. "over here, what's up?" "what's up? they're waiting for you, man!" sunghoon is standing in the doorway of the resort, the soft breeze blowing his hair back as a bridesmaid also peers over his shoulder. heeseung sighs as he stands, wiping his pants of sand and shoving his phone into his pocket. he walks quickly, humming quietly to himself to semi-prepare his voice for the perfect delivery of the song you wanted him to sing.
everyone is chatting quietly around the tables as heeseung steps inside, running his fingers through his hair as he walks forward. your mother catches his eye, a concerned look on her face, but he can't hold eye contact. he faces the floor as he reaches the small stage the venue has set up for the band, jay perched on a stool holding a guitar.
"hey, hee. you ready?" he asks as he tucks in his in-ear monitor, and heeseung shrugs as he takes his place behind the microphone. only then does he notice that the chatter he heard was just two bridesmaids, kim sunoo, riki nishimura and yang jungwon â all friends of yours and jake's that he hadn't bothered to meet further than reading their names in the program.Â
he watches silently as you and jake take the center of the dance floor, your eyes slightly reddened as you gingerly drape your arms over your fiancĂŠ. your smile doesn't fill your cheeks as jay begins playing softly.
heeseung takes a deep breath, and your eyes catch him as he begins to sing.
one touch, and you've got me stoned. higher than i've ever knownâŚ
you were both thirteen.
he remembers the way you held onto him the night that you lost your first mathletes competition. you cried so hard that you'd almost thrown up, and heeseung could only soothe you by dragging you to the nearest convenience store and shoving a melona popsicle in your hand. you went silent after that, gripping his hand tightly as he walked you home. you'd squeezed his hand three times that night, something he'd always done but you'd roll your eyes at.
"why would i squeeze your hand when i can just tell you, hee?"
you call the shots and i'll follow. sunrise, but the night's still youngâŚ
you were both seventeen.Â
he remembers when you called him to come over while it was storming, because your mother was out of town. your house was a little over a mile away and normally, he didn't mind the walk. it was almost three in the morning, and he'd been sleeping when your ringtone went off for the third time. "hello?" "hee, please come over. it's storming so bad, i'm soâ"
he hadn't even let you finish before ripping his bedsheets off his body and sprinting for the door. his clothes, his shoes, everything was soaking wet by the time he got to your house. you'd embraced him anyway, your own clothes soaking through as he trudged into your home â only for the storm to stop a few moments after his arrival.
no words, but we're speaking tongues. if you let me, i might say too muchâŚ
you were both twenty.
he remembers when you asked him, in the middle of your kitchen during your graduation party, if he could kiss you. the house was empty except for the two of you â his parents and your mom had decided to throw a joint party, using the excuse that two best friends should always stick together. your mom had sent you inside for more hor d'oeuvres, and you'd dragged him inside with the excuse that you couldn't carry them all yourself.
"you don't have to, hee. i'm sorry." your eyes were full of embarrassment as heeseung stared at you, a bit in shock at your question. only as you begin to move further into the kitchen does he register what you've said, and grabs your arm, pulling you toward him. "ask me again, i'm sorry. i zoned out, i thought you asked me to kiss you."
"i did." you repeated quietly, and heeseung blinked twice before nodding. "o-okay. yeah, i can do that." he cleared his throat, looking over your shoulder into the foyer to ensure no one was opening the door.Â
"are you sure? i mean, it's your first kiss, wouldn't you want to have it with someone special?" he's rambling, and your gentle laugh pulls him right back.
"you are special, hee."Â
without another word, he backed you up against your kitchen counter, his hands on your hips as he softly kissed you. your hands were on his biceps, and he could feel your nervousness seep through your locked lips. he carefully circles your thighs to lift you onto the counter, your arms instinctively wrapping around his neck before he breaks the kiss.
"how was that? okay?" his eyes searched yours, a shy smile playing on his swollen lips as you blinked. "uh, i'm not sure. i thinkâ" "you want to try again?" his head tilted to the side, a habit you loved and eventually also caught. you nodded silently. his smile was wide as he closed the gap between the two of you, the hands on your thighs squeezing softly. once, twice, three times.
i love you.
your touch blurred my vision. it's your world, and i'm just in itâŚ
you're both twenty one.
he remembers how he stared at his bedroom ceiling, clothes soaked in rain from prancing around the city with you. how piercing your words were, how he thought for so long that you believed in him. how all of these events he can't stop thinking about, are about you. how proud he was of you, how lucky he was to have you, how insane it was that you wanted him. you wanted him at one point.
how he didn't care that he got sick, but certainly didn't understand why your sore throat and stuffy nose didn't make him feel a pang of distress. how he didn't care that no one else was refuting his talent, because they weren't you. he didn't care about anyone else in this world, but you.
even sober, i'm not thinking straightâŚ
you're both twenty two.
he remembers his birthday going abhorrently wrong. you weren't there, per usual â you were too wrapped up with school to give heeseung a second thought. he'd long realized that he didn't want to lose you, but it seemed that you no longer cared to keep the friendship alive. he still has the messages he sent you, and is still amazed at the lack of typos despite being absolutely shitfaced.
message to: my y/n <3 [2022.10.15 | 11:23pm] it's my birthday, baby. [2022.10.15 | 11:24pm] you can't be here for me today? [2022.10.15 | 11:24pm] i miss you. i miss our friendship. [2022.10.15 | 11:26pm] i can't believe you're missing my birthday. i never miss your birthdays. [2022.10.15 | 11:30pm] is this it? are we done? [2022.10.15 | 11:34pm] when will you come back to me? when, how much longer? [2022.10.15 | 11:35pm] when you graduate? i can wait. (not delivered!) [2022.10.15 | 11:47pm] just tell me how long. i'll wait. (not delivered!)[2022.10.16 | 12:02am] i'd wait forever for you (not delivered!)
he changed his number after that. he still doesn't know how you got his new one. he doesn't care to ask, either.
cause i'm off my face, in love with youâŚ
you're both twenty five.
he's watching you slow dance with your fiancĂŠ, fingers interlaced behind his neck as jake's hands rest on your hips. he hates the jealousy that boils in his stomach, but doesn't bother to break eye contact with the tile on the ceiling with water damage.
i'm out my head, so into youâŚ
he can feel his fingers tightening around the microphone stand, but can't seem to stop his eyes from averting as jake spins you gently, before your soft giggle hits his ears. you look up at jake with what he can only assume is adoration, before resting your cheek on his shoulder. you're looking right at heeseung, mouthing along to the song.
and i don't know how you do itâŚ
you're fixing your posture instead, still staring at heeseung as jake takes your hand in his, kissing your knuckles. you instinctively smile at the feeling, and heeseung's eyes zero in on your fingers as you squeeze jake's hand.
once, twice, three times. i love you.
but i'm forever ruined by you, ooh, ooh, ooh.
"i love you." your eyes haven't left heeseung as you whisper the words, and you can see the way his eyes fill with fire as he looks away. you get a twisted feeling of satisfaction in your gut, before finally averting your eyes back to your fiancĂŠ. jake is smiling softly at you, and you quickly close the gap between you as heeseung continues to sing. your lips press against jake's smoothly, before he swiftly moves away. "i can't wait to marry you tomorrow." he whispers.
"me, too."
liar.
may 02.
the wedding is in twenty minutes.
your pantyhose has ripped, you tripped going up the stairs. you're not even wearing your dress yet. there are storm clouds gathering, and you canât help but feel like everything in the universe is working against you. the only thing holding you together is your mother, her arms are wrapped tightly around you.
âare you sure we canât just run away and elope?â you mumble into her shoulder, and your mother laughs. ânot anymore. but,â she pulls away from you, cradling your face in her hands gently. âi love you, honey. everything will be okay.â
you hate the churn in your stomach at the word everything. because if everything were okay, it'd be sunny. if everything were okay, you'd be staring down an aisle full of people and only see heeseung at the end of it. if everything were okay, you would've never said yes to that first date.
âi love you.â you repeat, your hand resting on her wrists as you nod robotically. âiâll see you out there, okay?â
âokay.â you breathe out shakily as she presses her lips to your hairline, lingering slightly before pulling away and leaving your room. you were alone now, and you glanced out the window at all the guests gathering on the beach. everyone is dressed so brightly, bunches of pinks and lilacs scattered across the sand. jake is waiting patiently at the end of the aisle, the forest green of his suit making his skin glow slightly brighter. how he does it, you don't know.
and then you see heeseung.
heâs dressed in black, despite the theme of the wedding being floral and natural. you grimace, forcing yourself to look away before spotting your dress hanging on the back of the door. you'd have to shimmy into it on your own, having sent everyone out in a fit of anxiety.
sighing, you unhook the heavy dress from the door, carefully letting the skirt pool on the floor as you step into it. it slides on perfectly, and you can't help but lose your breath at the sudden weight of the world on your chest. you're getting married, and you love jake.
but he'll never, ever be heeseung.
"tighten up, y/n. you've got this." you shake your head, reaching back and forcing the zipper up as high as you could. you had a hook-and-eye closure at the top, something you'd simply have to forego if you wanted to make it downstairs on time. groaning to yourself, you attempt to pull up the zipper just a bit more, before giving up and covering it with your veil. grabbing your bouquet, you give yourself a final glance in the mirror.
"you've got this. everything will be okay."Â
your voice is shaky, but you swing your room door open anyway â only to be met with heeseung on the other side. his eyes widen, mouth slightly agape as you come into his view. "wow, you lookâŚ" "what are you doing here? you're supposed to be downstairs." you scold, shoving your keycard into the pocket of your dress. oh yeah, you've got it like that. "your mom asked me to come see what was taking so long. i told her you'd be down soon, but she insisted." he shrugs, so nonchalantly.
like none of this is eating away at him.
"ugh, whatever. come on." your tone is angry, but your face shows nothing but fear. his eyes follow as you storm towards the elevator, seeing the zipper of your dress slowly sliding down as you reach the doors. "here, hold on."
his fingers move your veil carefully as you step into the elevator, before pulling the fabric tighter together and pulling the zipper to the top. he carefully clasps the closure, and you swear you feel every hair on your body sticking up when his fingertips gently graze your back. "don't touch me, heeseung."
"i'm trying to help you. otherwise, you'd flash that entire crowd." he scoffs, pressing the floor button. you sigh, wrapping your arms around yourself as the elevator becomes silent. the tension is thick between you, you know it. your eyes never leave the neon sign, watching the floor numbers go by before heeseung reaches over and pulls the emergency lever.
"what the fuck are you doing?! i'm already late!" you gasp, hitting his arm with your bouquet when he stands in front of the lever. "i can't let you do this unless you hear what i have to say."
"heeseung, i'm getting married. this is the biggest day of my lifeâ" your whining is cut short by his hand on your mouth, and only then do you see the unshed tears in his eyes. "the biggest day of my life was when i met you on that stupid playground. i never, ever in my life thought our friendship would end this way, and you know what, it makes me kind of sick."
he breathes deeply, removing his hand from your face as he sees the shock in your eyes. "you're saying you're already late to your big day, well i just want to say i beat you in that department. i've never had a problem with punctuality, but i really missed the mark on this one." his chuckle is dry, humorless as he looks at the bouquet in your hand. "i don't think i'll get over this, ever. i'll never get the chance to be in his place. but," he steps back, fingers gripping the emergency lever in his hand.
"i want you to know that it should be me. i should be the one waiting for you at the end of the aisle. i should be the one who gets to love you until the end of my days, and even then, you'd never die. you'd be loved by me forever, the evidence strewn all over the world in compositions and lyrics. i would never let you die."
he pushes the lever back, before moving back to his original spot next to you. the elevator doors open, revealing an empty lobby. the storm clouds are no longer that far away, and you can feel the humidity through the open plan of the resort.
"i am foolishly, hopelessly, irrevocably in love with you. and i hope you realize this is the biggest mistake of your life." his voice is soft, as is his smile when he offers his hand. "here's to your forever, my love."
you say nothing.

if heeseung was anything, it was a sick bastard. a sick, rat bastard who had no shame. your mother took you from his arm at the end of the aisle, and you didn't even realize you'd allowed him to lead you there. jake's eyes shone with what could only be identified as jealousy.
he smiled the entire ceremony, clapping and whistling alongside your other guests through the vows. the sappy vows jake had penned were poetic compared to yours, but he knew what you meant anyway. you felt several fat raindrops plop onto your head and shoulders, while heeseung had come prepared and shared his umbrella with your mother.
he even helped her inside once the rain really started pouring, just after your first kiss as a married couple. your stomach was boiling over in fury as you watched him laugh with her, his eyes only meeting yours once with a soft smile.Â
you and jake slipped away to change into your reception clothing, his suit jacket abandoned and sleeves rolled up, showing off the watch you got him for his birthday. your ballroom white dress, now stained with sand, was traded in for an a-line style. jake met you in front of the resort, his fingers curled in yours when he finally spoke.
"we really did it, huh." he says quietly, his eyes scanning the shut doors of the reception venue. you nod, your breath caught in your throat when he takes a step back, his hand squeezing yours. "two years." your ears twitch at this. "what?" "all i ask for is two years. we can have a kid. we'll have an heir to our wills. we can get divorced after two years, and you can be with him." he breathes, eyes following the pattern on the heavy wooden door. you choke out a scoff of disbelief, your throat burning. "what the fuck are you talking about, jaeyun?" he winces at the use of his name, so used to gentle baby and sweetened honey. a sigh escapes his lips as he turns to face you. "i know you love him, y/n. you don't have to hide it from me. you wouldn't have brought him all the way out here, you wouldn't have gone behind my back and changed the plans for the band. your mom loves him, for crying out loud. i never stood a chance." he chuckles sadly, and your tears are hot as they flow down your face.
"how can you say that, jaeyun? i'm married to you, i've chosen you, over anything and anyone in this world! how can you say such things?!" your hurt is evident, but he can't figure out if it's because of the little blame game or if it's because you truly, deeply love him. he doesn't know what to say, but reaches to wipe your tears. you jerk away, a frown etched on your glossed lips as you wipe them yourself. you take a deep breath, grabbing the door knob.
"fix your face." you mutter, a tone jake had never received from you as he sighed, painting a smile of everything's okay on his face as the two of you threw the doors open in unison. your crowd of guests cheered loudly, rice flying everywhere as they welcomed you in. the band was loudly playing got to be real by cheryl lynn, and you almost forget jake's painful words behind the door. you almost forget that heeseung will be queueing up to sing for you and your husband, for free, on the very stage you're now standing in front of.Â
jungwon hands you a microphone and two champagne flutes, before slinking away to his seat. you hand one to jake, who swirls it nervously.
"wow, it's such an honor to have all of our loved ones here today." your voice is shaky as you take them all in, dozens of eyes staring you down. "i mean, i've waited for this day since i was a little girl. it's a blessing to finally see it in color, in person. thank you." jake breathes in deeply, before looking away to blink back tears. "i'm not crying, my eyes are just sweating." he speaks into the microphone, earning an empathetic laugh from the guests, your hand ghosts over his back, and he stiffens at it. "i'm soâŚso terribly in love with y/n. i can't believe this day is real." a soft aww echoes in the room, your chest tightening as you see heeseung sitting next to your mother. he's cooing with everyone else. "and i can't wait to be a man that is continuously worthy of her love. to y/n."Â
you almost burst into tears as everyone raises their drinks to you, the clink of glasses adding to the emotion as you and jake find your seats at the end of the hall. you sit gingerly, holding jake's hand under the table tightly. "i love you, jake." "i love you, y/n."
đ â đ â đ â đ â đ â đ â đ â đ â đ â đ â đ â đ â đ â đ â đ â đ
the speeches were a mess. jay was a mess of tears, and minjeong spewed bullshit about the two of you being like sisters. heeseung hadn't met her until five minutes after the ceremony, and if you had been close to anyone enough to consider them a sibling, he'd know them. no one knew you like he did.
"and now, for the newlyweds' first dance! we have a very special guest singing for us today, please give a warm welcome and round of applause to y/n's longest friend, lee heeseung!"Â
he smiled nervously as he took the stage, a puffy-eyed jay sitting behind him as he tested the microphone. "thank you for having me, and congratulations to the newlyweds. y/n, i'm eternally proud of you and so grateful to be here on your special day. i love you." none of the guests know it means something more to him, to you, as they let out an aww. how heartwarming, that your lifelong best friend was here for you. how lovely, that he was supporting you every step of the way.
he sang carefully, watching as you and jake held each other tightly, swaying to the song. he can hear your sniffle, a soft sob into jake's shoulder as he lovingly strokes your back. he looks away.
it should be him.
it should be heeseung, that gets to see you wear white. it should be heeseung, that gets to plan a tedious wedding at your instruction. it should be heeseung that gets to take you on a romantic honeymoon and spend all day in the sun and all night glued to your bed. it should be heeseung that gets to shampoo your hair for you when you're feeling too tired, it should be heeseung that gets to watch you put lipstick on in the morning just to ruin it before you're out the door.Â
it should be him. and everyone knows it, no matter if they know your history or not.
"thank you, everyone. let's hear it for the newlyweds!"
october 15.
"hey."
it's been over a year since your wedding. you and jake had happily posted tons of wedding photos, piled over with honeymoon flicks. you and heeseung hadn't spoken since the wedding. he left right after the first dance, catching the first ferry back to seoul. he didn't bother contacting you to see if you'd made it back safely, he didn't bother to message you a happy birthday when it came around. he just didn't care.
he dropped out of college for the second time, and spent the summer going around seoul auditioning for companies. decelis entertainment finally gave him a break, and only after he got his contract did he find out that jake and all of his friends were also at this company.
he was polite in the hallways. he smiled, he waved, he engaged in small talk and perused the past. he didn't ask questions, he didn't initiate. he spent his time holed away in the studio with a producer named yeonjun, recording for hours on end without a break. he was set to debut in two weeks, having dropped his first teaser just two days prior.
all without you to cheer him on.
"what are you doing here?" his voice was cold, nothing you weren't used to at this point. his hair wasn't red anymore, now a natural chocolate brown. it suited him. "came to visit, heard from jake that you've been training for a year." "what's it to you?"
he's being harsh, he knows he's being harsh.
"hey, y/n. nice to see you." jake calls from across the hall, exiting his studio with jay and sunghoon in tow. the two of them seem to say nothing at the sudden casualties between you and jake, or the insinuation that he hadn't seen you in a while. heeseung gives you a glance, your hands holding a gift and a grocery bag. "may i come in?" "i'm busy, at the moment." he coughs, ignoring the way your eyes roll. "too busy for a slice of cake?" you hold up a bag in your fingers, and his eyes narrow. he leans back into the studio, his eyes scanning the calendar for any potential special dates. he's not even flipped to the right month, the calendar reading july.
"shit, did i miss something?" he whips out his phone, which you simply cover with your hand. a soft laugh escapes your lips as you lift your other hand, the gift bag screaming happy birthday in gold glitter flashing at him. "oh, man." he moves away from the door, allowing you to walk in. you look around, and although the studio doesn't belong to him, it sure smells like him. it looks like him, it's covered in him, it feels like home.
"happy birthday, hee." you say gently, setting the gift down on the couch and slowly sitting down to unwrap his cake. "i know it's not much, but i'm barely here." you chuckle, tapping your temple as he takes a seat in his desk chair. he's wary, you can tell.
"something on your mind?" "why are you here? i debut in two weeks, i don't need any bullshit." he rubs his temples, and you only frown. "you know, once upon a time, you would've been happy to have me here." your tone is pointed, and heeseung sighs. "fine, fine. i'm sorry."
"i'm the one who should be sorry." you murmur, and heeseung says nothing. he knows you're right.Â
you're both quiet, before heeseung notices the candle next to the cake. he rolls the chair over, his fingers carefully centering the candle. "have you got a light?"Â
you shake your head no, a sheepish look in your eyes. "i'm sorry. we can pretend, if that's okay?" he hates the way his lips twitch into a smile at your wide eyes. "yeah, we can pretend."Â
you sing for him softly, your cheek squished into your hand as you lean on the armrest. he closes his eyes, making a wish and blowing the makeshift flame out. "what'd you wish for?" you yawn, and he shakes his head.
"won't come true if i tell you." shrugging, he rolls back over to his desk, leaving the cake on the table. you just make a noise of agreement, before a sigh slips past you. "i heard your teaser, you know." he doesn't care to react, only giving you a short sound. "mhm?" "is it about me?" you ask, and he straightens in his chair before spinning around to face you. "all my songs are about you. every single one of them." he gestures to a tattered journal on the soundboard. it's covered in stickers, andâŚa taped photo of you and him as toddlers. "oh."
"i mean what i say, y/n." he rolls his eyes, before spinning back around. "if it were me, i'd never let you die."
but it is you, you think. it's always been you.
"why did jake say it was nice to see you?" he asks, too cowardly to look you in the eyes. he hears your sigh, before hearing you shift around on the couch. he spins around again, only to see you have removed your shoes and tucked your legs beneath you. his eyes scan you, before looking at your fingers. your ring is gone, replaced by a chunky painite stone in silver. your eyes are gently burning into him, and he shivers in the warmth. "wellâŚwhy?" "before the reception, he told me he knew." you shrug, "he knew how you felt about me, and how i allegedly felt about you. he brought up my mother, and how he felt like he'd never stood a chance."Â
"but he did. you married him, after all." heeseung rolls his eyes as you shrug, blinking slowly as you speak again. "we gave it a good shot. maybe i should've listened to all those superstitions, they're not such bullshit. the tripping, the rain, god, the way my ring was too tight." you scoff sadly, before glancing back up at him.
he seems to understand. if he doesn't, he doesn't say anything. sighing, you reach over to rustle the gift bag with your fingers. "you've got to open this, you know."Â
"y/n, i can't do this." he breathes out, eyes screwed shut. "i can't sit here with you and pretend like we're all good, like you're not married to the same guy i share a company with. we stopped being friends a long time ago, what are you trying to do here?" "i'm not trying to do anything but reconnect. i fully accepted the fact that whether or not you're with me, you're still someone i love. i spent years trying to figure out why you drifted away from me, and then jake and i sat down at our dinner table a few weeks ago after meeting with the lawyer and he asked me about our friendship. so i told him everything, from the very beginning."
heeseung can't breathe as you get up, walking towards him and slowly sinking into a squat. your hands are on his knees, giving a gentle squeeze before you speak.
"i'm sorry i made it seem like i had no faith in you. i said horrible things to you, even if they seemed right to me, and i'm so sorry that it took someone else to tell me that i'd treated you so badly that day."Â
his eyes are brimming with tears, but he looks away from you. he can't cry, not now, not in front of you.Â
"you've always been like that, though." he murmurs, picking at his cuticles when you carefully take his hands in yours. he suppresses a sob as the warmth of you envelopes his fingers, "i was projecting. i thought that everyone had to be like me, that everyone had to have a plan. some people are just better at flying by the seat of their pants, i mean, look at all you've accomplished despite me saying such shitty things to you. you're about to debut, you're going to see great success. everyday i'm rooting for you, even if i'm not the person you go home to."
you give his hands a firm squeeze. once, twice, three times. i love you.
"are you divorced?"Â
you scoff out a soft laugh, looking down at his jeans. "jake and i haven't been together since the wedding. we spent the honeymoon playing mermaids and crying over whiskey sours."
"i can't forgive you right now." he confesses, making your head snap up to look at him. he swallows hard, "i can't forgive you right now, because i'm still mad at you. for saying those things to me, andâŚand you hurt me, when you asked me to sing for your wedding. it hurt me a lot, y/n." "i'm sorry, hee." you whisper, your thumbs wipe at the tears spilling from his eyes. he leans into your touch, before pulling away. "i know you are, y/n. i know."
he gently pushes away, offering his hand to help you up. you take it, and he waits for you to put your shoes on before leading you back to the door. "i'll call you, okay? when i'm ready."
you step out of the studio, peering up at him with sad eyes. "you promise?"
he sighs, nodding his head. "i promise, baby."

AUSTIN, TEXAS. 2024.
âwhat if someone hears us?â you breathe out shakily while charlesâ lips are attached to your neck. his hands digging into your hips giving it a soft squeeze before he spins your around almost bending you over the counter and facing the mirror.
âhas that ever stopped us? come on, baby. it is my birthday after all and you said i can have whatever i want. what i want is you,â his fingers slip under your skirt, pushing your panties to the side, âi think you want it too. youâre soaked for me.â charles kisses your shoulders as he adds two fingers, slowly stretching you out with your eyes connected to his through the mirror.
âremember our first date? you were practically begging for me to fuck you on the table right there in front of everyone. but only i get to ever see you like this, a mess for me,â he taunts, fingers moving deep inside of you, curling against your g-spot as he pushes your face to the side pulling you in for a deep kiss until you were both gasping for air.
âcharlie, wanna cumâŚplease,â you choke out, already feeling close with your walls fluttering around him. you push yourself against him already feeling his cock through his pants, you needed him.
"uh uh, baby," he purrs, "tonight is my night so i want you to cum all over my cock. before that i wanna come in your pretty mouth. on your knees, cherie.â he slowly pulls his fingers out and you moan at the loss of fullness before heâs tapping your ass signaling to kneel on the cold tiles.
charlesâ eyes grow darker as you sink down on your knees and pull his pants down, his cock springs free. without notice you wrap your lips around the tip of him and his pre-cum coats your tongue as you take him further.
âmon dieu bĂŠbĂŠ, ta bouche est tellement parfaite. merde,â his hand tangle in your hair and around the back of your neck. your hand wraps around whatever doesnât fit in your mouth and you speed up your movements, âshit. âm gonna cum mon amour.â he groans as you hollow your cheeks around him.
with just a few more strokes before thick ropes of cum fill your mouth, charlesâ head thrown back in pleasure catching his breath before helping you up. he wipes the tears off your face gives you a sweet kiss teeth clashing as you both smile, âi love you so much.â laughter now fills the restroom as you jinx each other with the sentence.
his hand intertwined with yours after fixing each otherâs appearance you walk out of the restroom and go back to sit down at the dinner where some of the other drivers and their partners were seated.
âfucking finally! you filthy whores weâve been waiting 20 minutes for you guys. couldnât you wait until after dessert!â max curses at the two of you and you give him the finger before sitting next to charles and lily right beside you,
âi got my dessert already.â you chuckle leaning your head on charles, his hand resting on your thigh. the rest of the group doesnât mind, seeing the two of you with a smitten smile obviously enjoying yourselves but their faces turn sour at maxâs next comment, âyeah, a salty one.â
âmax!â
âââââââââââââââââââââââââ
after dinner you all headed out to your own cars and to the club where the real birthday celebrations would start for charles. however, you had one small wish to make on your behalf despite it not being your day. âdonât pout at me, baby. whatâs wrong?â charles rubbed his thumb on your knee as he drove to the next destination.
âwhatâs wrong? you didnât let me cum! i gave you a fucking blowjob with my knees on a filthy floor and i donât get to cum? itâs your birthday butâŚiâm mad. i gave you a song, an entire album this year, i gave you leo, and what do i get? nothing!â you cross your arms and push his hand away.
âmy love, is that why youâre upset? fine,â he takes a quick turn into an empty parking lot and you look at him confused because this certainly wasnât the club you had booked. âcharles, this isnât theâ.â you stop when he undoes your seatbelt and places you on his lap.
âhave your way with me, ma chĂŠrie,â he leans in pulling you into a kiss, his hands on your face as you deepen the kiss and roll your hips against his causing him to let out a groan. clothes are quickly shrugged off to where your aching pussy rubs against his hardened cock.
his cock slipping in as you let yourself moan as he stretches you, âyou take me so well," he grunts. "thatâs my girl, just relax for me. gonna give you exactly what you want.â
now fully seated on charles, cock deep inside of you as he holds your face in his hands, âj'aime toujours Ă quel point tu es jolie quand je t'ai comme ça. [always love how pretty you look when i have you like this].â he grunts letting you rock your hips against him.
âstill donât know what youâre saying but i love how you talk to me in french,â you press your lips to his as he squeezes your hips. he thrusts up meeting your movements as well causing you both to let out loud moans as the car shakes, âtu me prends si bien, chĂŠrie. [you take me so well, sweetheart.]â
"don't stop, please, don't stop." you whimper feeling one of his hands pull away from your hip but gasp when it goes to your clit adding pressure to it, âcharlie,â your moans coming out loud and needy, grabbing onto his shoulder and fucking yourself harder on him.
charles canât help but let out a string of curse words mixed in french and italian. you have no idea what he is saying other than his usual pet names for you but it has you close to your orgasm and he could tell, âthatâs it, baby. taking my cock so well give me a little more and you can cum.â he grabs you close to him your chest pressed against his as he forces himself up into you hitting your sweet spot with every thrust.
âcum with me, pretty girl.â a small nod and you capture his lips in yours letting out a moan against his soft lips as you reach your orgasm. a loud groan escapes his chest as he empties himself inside you.
you let a few minutes pass as you both catch your breaths and share a few sweet kisses, âbest birthday ever, from my favorite gift ever. i love you,â charles smiles at you, his cock still buried deep inside you making the moment much more intimate for you, âi you, charlie.â you kiss his nose which makes him let out a low chuckle.
âwe should probably get going beforeâ.â as charles speaks up about heading to the club some bright car lights shine in your faces causing you to wince. you jump up startled when you hear a knock on the window, âfuck! mon amourâŚstill inside you,â charles groans feeling your walls clench around his cock.
âyou guys have been gone for an hour! we get it you like to fuck but we couldnât get into the club until you arrived. i need a fucking drink!â max yells through the window stressed as if you had missed an importat meeting. in his eyes, you did.
however, his little tantrum caused the two of you to throw yourselves into a fit of giggles as he curses in dutch the only words you can understand are gin & tonic. âbest birthday.â charles repeats, his loving smile directed at you. his best gift ever.

DOUBLE TAKE w. joshua hong
wedding au ; kinda meeting the family trope + fluff and crack (730)
pairing: hong jisoo (joshua) x fem!reader
featuring: kim mingyu as your cousin
note: thought about this on a whim during a car ride to a wedding anniversary party i attended. enjoy !! please rb and like <3
youâre standing in a sea of pastel-dressed guests, the soft hum of chatter and clinking glasses filling the garden. itâs a beautiful eveningâpeach-coloured skies, fairy lights strung across trees, and the distant strains of a string quartet playing something vaguely familiar. you spot mingyu, your cousin and the groom of the lovely event, laughing with a few friends near the buffet table. heâs always been the golden boy of the familyâcharming, successful, and annoyingly smug about it.
and thatâs when you see him.
joshua.
youâve never personally met him before, only knowing about him during the wedding rehearsals as a former wedding singer about three years ago from one of the bride's band of bridesmaids. you thought to yourself about how with a face like that, how could anyone still be single. thereâs no denial in that.
there was something about the way he carried himself while balancing a plate of hors d'oeuvres with an easy smile. heâs tall, lean, with a soft kind of confidence that doesnât need to shout to be noticed. joshua looks up, and for a brief moment, your eyes meet.
your mind races. mingyu had spent the last week teasing you about being single, nudging you about how everyone in the family was settling down except you. âwhatâs taking so long? donât you have anyone?â heâd asked with that insufferable grin.
and just like that, an idea blooms. a ridiculous one at that. a crazy idea that makes you hope would work despite not thinking about the logistics of it.
you make your way across the crowd, weaving through clusters of guests, until youâre standing right next to him. âhi,â you say, flashing your most disarming smile.
he glances at you, startled but polite. âuh, hi?â
âlisten,â you lower your voice, leaning in slightly as you draw out the plan. âi know this is going to sound strange, but could you pretend to be my boyfriend? just for a moment. itâs complicated.â
joshua's brows shoot up in surprise, and you can see the gears turning in his head. âpretend ?â he echoes. âwhy?â
âiâll explain later,â you promise, grabbing his arm before he can protest. âplease, just trust me.â
before he can respond, youâre pulling him towards mingyu who is chatting up a few of the bride's own guests.
âgyu!â you call out in a tune, your voice bright and cheerful.
your cousin turns, grinning as always. â(your name), there you are!â he goes in for a hug before his eyes flicker to joshua, curiosity sparking. âand whoâs this?â
you squeeze joshuaâs arm lightly, as if urging him to play along. âthis,â you announce with a casual confidence you donât feel, âis joshua. my boyfriend .â
mingyuâs grin falters for a split second before he recovers. âboyfriend?â he repeats, a touch of disbelief colouring his tone.
âyes, boyfriend,â you reply smoothly, shooting mingyu a pointed look as if daring him to question you further.
joshua, to his credit, doesnât miss a beat. the man next to you extends a hand, his expression friendly but calm. ânice to meet you, man. (your name) has told me a lot about you.â
mingyu shakes his hand, still looking slightly suspicious. âfunny, sheâs never mentioned you before.â
âoh, you know how she is,â joshua says with a laugh, playing along effortlessly. âalways keeps me as her little secret.â you stand up a little bit straighter when you realise his hand has moved to rest on the small of your back.
you canât help but feel a pang of gratitude for how natural heâs making this look.
but then mingyuâs eyes narrow, a sly grin creeping onto his face. âyou must be serious if sheâs introducing you now. whatâs next? a wedding?â
you freeze, scrambling to think of an answer but joshua speaks up before you do. he chuckles, pulling you closer. âfunny you should mention that,â he says, his tone light and teasing, âweâre actually engaged.â
âwhat ?! â you and mingyu exclaim in unison, though for very different reasons.
you shoot joshua a wide-eyed look, but he just shrugs, a mischievous glint in his eyes. âyou dragged me into this,â he whispers under his breath, lips barely moving, âmight as well commit.â
mingyu looks utterly delighted. âengaged? well, this is news! congratulations, you two. shall i announce this during the toast? ooh, the family would be so glad toâ,â
you cut him off before he could continue and eventually inform the rest of the guests about your endeavours. "everything's fine, thank you!"
âweâll let you get back to hosting,â joshua says smoothly, steering you away from mingyu before the other man can protest.
once youâre safely out of earshot, you whirl around to face him. âengaged? really ? â
joshua grins, entirely unapologetic. âwhat? you needed help, and it seemed like the logical next step.â
you stare at him, torn between annoyance and reluctant admiration. âyouâre unbelievable.â
âand yet, youâre still holding my arm,â he points out, his smile softening.
âso, whatâs the plan now, fiancĂŠe? â
â please do not copy , translate or repost any of my works anywhere.

Drowning in the Light Part 1
Summary: Once excited about your job as a lounge singer, now you can barely get through it, thanks to your less than charming boyfriend. Can a blue eyed bodyguard pull you out of a horrible situation? Or are you both doomed by the life you chose?
Warning: extensive reference to domestic abuse (not by Bob), language, guns, mob bodyguard Bob AU (yes he comes with a warning you'll see)
***
Sharp pain seared throughout your body, starting at your legs, bruised from kicks, up to your shoulders, sore from being shoved against a wall. Then your head, God, your head. You must have hit something when you got knocked down.Â
The throbbing pain surrounding your right eye was familiar. From past experience, you knew it would be bruised, no need to look in the mirror. But the sharp, stinging pain near your scalp was new. Gently, you placed your fingers on the area, feeling something wet.Â
Blood.Â
You should get up, take care of yourself, try to leave before the man responsible for it all comes back. But instead, all you could do was curl into a ball.Â
It wasn't always like this.Â
For as long as you could remember, you wanted to sing. Selling out Madison Square Garden wasn't your end goal. No, you were content to land a job where you could sing at the same place every night. No more wedding gigs that took up your entire weekend. No more supplementing your income with that lousy waitressing job. Plus, the owner was sweet on you.Â
At first.Â
Slowly, you sat yourself up, thankful the pain in your arms from a few days ago has subsided. It wasn't fun wearing long sleeves in late spring, but you didn't have the time to cover it up with makeup. No, you were now far too busy helping run the club, despite making almost no money from it. After all, who was going to restock the bar? Clearly not the owner. Nor would he clean up the room he just destroyed. Chairs had been knocked over. A now broken bottle of Bourbon had clearly been smashed against the wall, the scent burning your nostrils.Â
But no sign of the man who was the cause of all this.Â
Looking back, the red flags were obvious, but at the time, they were easy to ignore. You were living your dream and had found someone who supported it. That was all you wanted since moving away from your family to pursue your ambitions.Â
So what if he got a little jealous when you spoke to male patrons? It was easy to calm him down and besides, you quickly learned to be on the lookout for him. When he suggested you stop interacting with your family, it seemed to come with good intentions. They had never supported your dreams and their phone calls always ended with an offer to pay for graduate school, scoffing at the possibility you were truly happy.Â
In retrospect, itâs possible they saw the red flags you were blind to.Â
Moving in together was a no brainer. It meant you could quit your temp office job that you did only to make ends meet. It also made sense why you were giving part of your paycheck to him, to help cover household expenses.Â
You were now lucky if you could stash away a few dollars from your nightly tips before he got to it.Â
Running a club was stressful, especially one where clients did seedy business. They never harmed you or other patrons, unless provoked (by someone who had too much liquid courage and not enough wits about them). He started off just yelling, which then turned into shoving, which had now turned into you lying on the floor of your dressing room, surrounded by destruction.Â
So you didn't get up right away. Your eyes remained closed as you attempted to block out the sounds of an argument on the first floor. Your so-called "boyfriend" was probably giving some bullshit excuse as to why he was unable to pay someone on time.Â
Again.Â
Tonight, you had interrupted to offer a much better reason as to why he couldn't pay a vendor on time. You even got an extension, something the club desperately needed. Canât run a place like this without alcohol, after all.Â
But that wasn't good enough. You made him look incompetent, stupid. Like he couldn't manage his own lounge. It was the truth, one that everyone could see, but making it known was a sin. You knew it would be bad with the way he grabbed your wrist, practically dragging you back to your dressing room, ignoring the stares of onlookers.Â
This was a new low for him. Funny how he kept surprising you, even a year later.Â
Sounds of men talking downstairs were muffled, probably one of the many seedy customers who stayed past closing to discuss less than legal matters. They were loud tonight and you'd probably have to clean up whatever mess they were making. After all, your boyfriend was far too busy to help.Â
But first you had to clean up yourself. Standing up was painful, your knees throbbing from being pushed onto the hard wooden floor earlier. If things kept the way they were going, you would need a walking cane before you turned forty.Â
There was no way in hell you could put up with this for much longer. You wanted to leave, it was escaping that was the problem. The other night acts felt pity for you, but they also had to make ends meet. Assistance came with a risk, whether it was losing a huge chunk of their income or worse, facing his wrath. Same with the bartenders, the bottle girls. Looking the other way was much safer. Besides, you werenât the first theyâve seen in this situation. Wonât be the last either.Â
The broken mirror encapsulated the damage done to your body. Your tights were now torn, a sleeve ripped, revealing the constellation of healing bruises on your arm. The skin around your right eye was swollen, no doubt turning into a blackened bruise by tomorrow. Some of the blood near your scalp had begun to dry. That would be a pain to hide. Applying makeup would run the risk of infection. Perhaps you could come up with a believable excuse, should Bob ask.Â
Bobby.Â
The thought of the blue eyed man brought a sense of warmth to your body. How such a kind man ended up working as the bodyguard of a gang was a mystery, how he kept that kindness even moreso. His boss Maverick had been a repeat customer for several months now. Where they went, Bob followed. He always made sure to comment on how well you did up on stage, even sneaking you a tip. Bob had the sweetest smile you ever saw; pink lips forming into a thin, slightly lopsided grin, the corners of his eyes subtly creasing. He didn't smile during his shifts, just with you.Â
His beautiful smile entered your mind quite often. It was the nicest thing youâd see all day. Yes, you were in a relationship, but itâs not like you were in love with the guy. No, if you had a choice, it would be Bob, the man who always spoke respectfully to you, always asked how you were doing, always genuine.Â
But you didnât deserve a guy like Bob Floyd. Before, you hoped for luck. That youâd finally win this time and be happy. Be loved.Â
What a fucking joke.Â
Wetness began to form around your eyes. Looking up, your reflection revealed eyes brimming with tears. A year ago, you rarely cried. Now it happens almost every day. You had become numb to it, barely registering as you grabbed a tissue, trying not to physically wince as you blotted the open wound.Â
It was time to fix yourself. Stuff it all down and go out and sing. Just like you did every other night.Â
**
Bob Floyd had always been quiet. Truth was, he preferred to mind his own business and not get in anyoneâs way. Ironic, considering his job.Â
He didnât want to do this. But when his father died and left Bob, his mother, and his four other penniless, his sixteen year old self knew something needed to change. Temporary, he had told himself, it would be temporary. Enough to get his family back on their feet. Besides, it was more de-escalating situations rather than causing them. Usually his stern voice and presence was enough to deter folks, meaning the amount of times he had to resort to violence was rare.Â
It was supposed to be a temporary job.Â
But he was good at it. He got promotions, more money, more stability for his family. He was able to send his mother back to school, giving his family a better life. When Iceman retired, Bob was kept on for the new generation due to his valuable knowledge and established connections.Â
Jake called him a stealth pilot. Quietly lurking, observing. Taking mental notes to share later, keeping track of every detail. It was how Bob realized what was going on with the lounge singer.Â
Bob had been going to the club with Jake and the rest of the crew for almost a year now. Maverick wanted to keep a low profile, so he sent the latest recruits who had proven themselves. The first sign was how the light had steadily left your eyes, even when you were singing. When Bob first met you, you were like a ray of sunshine, eyes bright, smile radiant.Â
Then came the tense arguments with the owner. Bob could never hear them but he could tell from your face afterwards it wasn't a two way street.Â
Bob didn't hate most people. But he fucking hated Beau Simpson.Â
It was obvious he didn't treat you well. Bob noticed how prevalent bruises had become on your arms, how often you âbumped into something' to explain a black eye. No person could be that clumsy.Â
So when Simpson had come up short on payment again, Bob didn't show mercy.Â
âIsn't this the fifth time he's been late? Why donât we go down and talk to him?â Bob suggested to Jake.Â
Jake, always eager to please Maverick (and annoy Bradley) was more than happy to take him, Javy, Mickey, and Natasha over. They were a well oiled machine; Bob would find and corner him, Jake would ask the questions directly to the traitor, Javy and Mickey were there for muscle while Nat was getting the real answers from others and looking into their systems if need be.Â
The coward made eye contact with Bob and then swiftly turned around, no doubt attempting to avoid him. What a fucking joke. Bob hated this was the guy you were tangled up with.Â
So yeah, maybe he should have used his voice before putting his hands on Simpson. A saying his mother always told him and his siblings, her school teacher career showing.Â
She also still thought Bob worked in construction.Â
Bob couldn't lie, it felt good to slam him against the wall. Make him feel a tenth of the pain he caused you. It would never be enough, not unless he saw Simpson six feet under.Â
But when he came into the doorway of your dressing room, the rage disappeared. It was gone the moment he saw you hunched over the vanity, applying makeup despite the steam of tears on your face.Â
"Dove?"Â Â
As soon as you turned your head, he made way to the vanity, carefully stepping over broken glass and knocked down chairs. Â
Bob knelt down, his hands near yours, but not quite touching. You couldn't even look him in the eyes. Normally his special nickname would bring a smile to your face, but you were too ashamed of how he found you.Â
What a fucking pathetic site.Â
"Dove," he repeated, his voice now soft, barely above a whisper, "Who did this to you?"Â
He knows the answer and has for months now. It's the confirmation he needs. But it's also the hope that maybe with your confirmation, he could help you begin to heal.Â
The name was on the tip of your tongue. But that would mean admitting it. Not just that he hurt you. But the fact that you had become some pathetic singer who was stuck with an obvious piece of shit. This wasn't supposed to happen. When you first started working here, it was full of excitement.Â
It was easy for your mind to think of Bob when you were with your partner. It was easy to think of those surprisingly soft blue eyes. In bed, you did your best to pretend it was his hands touching your body. It was an escape. A fantasy you indulged in as a desperate attempt to not think about your current situation.Â
Like he would want to be with you! You were a liability. You didn't deserve him.Â
That didn't stop your heart from fluttering when you felt his fingers gently cup your face, tilting your head up to look at him. His fingers were calloused. You knew what his hands were capable of, having witnessed him sling punches, like they were nothing.Â
But Bob Floydâs touch was soft. You could feel them on your face, but he refrained from adding pressure. And gentle, oh so gentle. He avoided the bruise that was forming near your right eye. The way his thumb gently stroked your mascara stained cheek was comforting.Â
Soft. Gentle. Comforting.Â
When was the last time you felt any of that from someone touching you? It was a foreign concept, one you so desperately chased that you were willing to ignore the bright, beaming red flags and run head first into danger.Â
By all means, he should be seen as a danger. A huge scarlet flag. His 'job' required him to oversee and commit violent, illegal acts. He didn't hide it. And with those expensive suits, rings, and those dark eyes, he looked almost like the Devil, ready to trick you into signing your soul away.Â
But he wasn't like that. At least, not to you. A sweet smile, reserved only for a selective few. Eyes that pierced through your soul. His presence brought an ease to you.Â
He leaned in, his forehead almost touching yours. A battle of emotions was going through his eyes. Rage. Anger. Concern. It felt nice for someone to be concerned about you.Â
"Did Simpson do this to you?â He asked, voice barely above a whisper.Â
When you nodded, it felt like a weight being lifted off your chest. Finally, someone else knew.Â
Bobâs jaw tensed as he nodded his head in understanding, "And was he responsible for all the other injuries you've had?"Â
He did notice. Why he was paying attention to you, some lowly singer, was beyond your comprehension.Â
You nodded your head, tears filling your eyes, "It'sâŚ..it's all been him, Bobby."Â
He nodded, the tension in his jaw remaining. He wanted to say so much, but knew what was most important: you. Your safety.Â
"Let's get you cleaned up Dove," He said softly, standing up. He stuck out his hand, clearly gesturing for you to take it.Â
It felt as though all the air had been sucked out of the room. His large hand felt like a peace offering, a shining lighthouse in the midst of the dark, bleary night. But taking it meant Bob would now be involved. You didn't want that, couldn't have that. If he found outâŚ.sure, Bob could take care of himself. But you would feel guilty if anything were to happen to him. Besides, what would happen to you? What if Simpson found out? The beating would probably send you to the emergency room. Even worse, it probably meant you wouldn't get to see Bob anymore.Â
You needed that lopsided smile and kind eyes to get through the nights. The thought of not seeing them scared the shit out of you.Â
"You need a first aid kit, not concealer," Bob explained, sensing your hesitation.Â
So sensible. But you didn't have time for any of that. Shaking your head, you turned back to the vanity, âI have to go on soon.âÂ
âWe shut down the place. Need Simpson to explain why he's gone two months without paying us.âÂ
When you still didn't move, Bobâs hands trailed down your face, landing on your shoulders. He kneeled down, looking into your eyes, âCan I help you? Please?âÂ
"Bob, it's not worth it. I don'tâŚif he finds outâŚâ The very thought of what could happen made your eyes brim with tears. Â
You were right to be hesitant. Bob wished he could scoop you up into his arms and take you far away from this place. For now, first aid would have to be done and he needed you to see that.Â
âDove, I can make sure he never touches you again, if that's what you want.â God, he hoped you wanted that, âBut getting cleaned up is the bare minimum of what you need. And the least I can do after not saying anything earlier.â
So he had noticed all the bruises you tried to cover up. How the light in your eyes only came back when you were up on stage singing or talking to him. He noticed how quickly that light drained from your eyes, how fear replaced it at the sight of Simpson. Bob should have said something earlier, instead of waiting so long.
Never again.Â
You didnât know this at the time. But something, deep in the back of your mind- call it hope or wishful thinking-told you he meant it.Â
So you took his hand. He could see you limping and placed an arm around your waist, allowing you to put your weight on him. Sage flooded your nostrils, his scent comforting. Bob led you to the couch in the Manager's office, walking away to find the first aid kit. It was quiet, but not in an awkward way. You enjoyed it, to be truthful. So much of your life was loud, violent, chaotic. To sit in peace was refreshing. Though you couldn't help but look at the door, the thought of anyone being able to come in at the back of your mind.Â
âHe's not going to come up. Mickey and Javy are currently holding him down while he answers Jake,â Bob commented, not even bothering to look up from the first aid kit.Â
How did he know? The question was soon replaced by another one, âWhy aren't you down there with them?âÂ
Bob made his way to the couch, gently laying the kit on the coffee table, rummaging as he picked up sanitation wipes.Â
âI wanted to make sure you were okay,â He confessed, the tops of his cheeks turning a dusty pink. The admission made your heart flutter. Despite his job requiring a cold, hardened demeanor, a kindness shone through.Â
You witnessed it the first time Bob met you. Oh, you had seen him beforehand. It was hard not to miss the tall handsome man with the piercing blue eyes, clad in a well fitted suit. The top of his shirt unbuttoned just enough to reveal a silver chain that reflected against the lights.Â
God, he was so attractive. Still is. It was your first day on the job and the last thing you wanted to do was ruffle one of the patrons. Beau had warned you that they would leave you alone as long as you did the same.Â
Looking back, you wondered if his advice had other intentions, more self serving ones that out of kindness. You tried to follow his advice, situating yourself near the bathroom while waiting for your cue. Once the previous act waves goodbye, you knew it was time to move. But God, you were so nervous that day! So nervous that you were too busy inspecting your dress for any possible wrinkles instead of looking up.Â
Your head ran into a firm chest, large hands quickly stabilized your body. When you looked up, you found yourself face to face with Bob Floyd.Â
Instead of a scowl, there was a small smile on his face as he asked, âYou alright ma'am?âÂ
You had been smitten ever since. Keeping a distance made sense, he didnât deserve you. Which is why you brushed it off as just a silly crush and looked elsewhere for affection.Â
âWhatcha thinking about Dove?â Bob asked before gingerly applying the sanitizing wipes to your forehead.Â
âThe day we met. You were so sweet, making sure that I was okay and wishing me good luck,â you spoke fondly of the memory, sharing a smile with him, âI think about that day often.âÂ
âI do too,â he confessed, making your heart flutter once again. It made you want to explain, want to tell him everything that had happened.Â
âI....it's all been going on for a year. It wasn't bad at first. Like yeah, he would yell at me, but he'd apologize afterwards. At first heâd just grip my shoulders real hard. Then he'd shove me out of the way. But he would still apologize to me afterwards. Sometimes he'd even get me flowers. I knew business was rough, so I convinced myself it wasn't personal,â you paused, âI must sound so fucking dumb.âÂ
âNo. There's nothing wrong with wanting to see the best in someone,â Bob mumbled as he shifted through the first aid kit, finding the right size gauze, "Doesn't make you dumb."
âThat's what I kept telling myself when it got worse. Over time, heâd stopped apologizing. Made me feel bad, like it was my fault. And I knew it wasn't, but I didn't want to set him off again. By the time I realized it wasn't going to get better, it was too late. Did you know you need ID to enter those shelters? Can't get in if you don't have it. I've been trying to save up what I can to get a ride back to my hometown, but it's been six months and I don't even have half of what I need,â your cheeks felt wet, no doubt being stained by tears.Â
âHe takes your earnings too?â Bob asked, trying to contain his anger by clutching a rag in his hand.Â
You nodded, âI can only take a little here and there, so he won't notice. I didn't want him to find out andâŚ..âÂ
A sob escaped your chest. Once it was released, you couldn't stop. Given how often you cried, it shouldn't feel any different.Â
But then a strong pair of arms wrapped themselves around you, gently pulling you into a broad chest. Resting your head in the crook of Bobâs neck, you felt a sense of safety for the first time in who knows how long. A soft pair of lips gently pressed against your temple, a thumb caressing your cheek.Â
âWe can make sure he never touches you again. And we will,â Bob murmured against your skin.Â
âHow?â you sniffled, âI have a contract and itâs legally binding, I canât leave.â
He shook his head, âWe can take care of that.â Your hands found his, fingers skimming over his long digits, tracing over each ring, every crevice and line. It was comforting, helping you slow down your breathing.Â
Bob continued, âNatasha found out he's been running this place dry on purpose to commit fraud. He doesn't have enough to pay us back, so Jake is gonna make him sign over the place to Maverick.âÂ
You had heard whispers about Bobâs boss. Apparently he wasn't a fan of Simpson anyways. Not a shocker, the man didn't even try to be pleasant.Â
Looking up at Bob, your faces were now inches apart. You could see flecks of gray in his stubble and at his temples. Faded freckles were scattered across his face, like stars in the night. Sandy brown hair that curled at the ends. A button nose that accentuated his pink lips. Did he have freckles else along his body?
âWhatcha looking at Dove?" He asked, a small smile creeping across his face.Â
âJust admiring how handsome you are, Bobby." The words left your mouth before your brain could process them.Â
You expected him to push you away, to shrug it off. Instead, his cheeks turned a bright red as he ducked his head into the crook of your neck. You figured that Bob heard it all the time. Besides, he was just being nice, done because he felt bad for you.Â
You certainly didn't expect him to become flustered, unable to form a coherent response. His soft lips pressed a kiss against your collarbone. You could feel his smile burn into your skin, like sunshine. When you grabbed his hand, Bob intertwined his fingers with yours. Â
Perhaps you weren't the only one who craved affection, for gentle touches.
âYou're too sweet for me, Dove.â His breath was hot on your skin, sending a spark of electricity up your spine.Â
There was always an unspoken tension between you two. So many maybes. Maybe he should have spoken out sooner. Maybe you should have tried going for Bob rather than settling like always.Â
âI feel the same way about you,â it felt good to finally admit it, like a weight leaving your shoulders. For a brief moment, you forgot the circumstances of the situation. For once, it felt normal, as if you two were simply friends who met through work.Â
Bob gave your hand a reassuring squeeze before sitting up straight. He studied your face, taking in every mark and line, everything that made you you. Bob also took in the bruise forming around your right eye.Â
âWe need to ice that eye. I'll be right back okay?â After receiving a nod, he untangled himself from your body, much to his dismay and yours. But he wasn't doing it because you repulsed him, no. Rather, he wanted to take care of you.Â
"So will Maverick be the new owner of this place?" You asked, eyes glued to Bob as he moved about in the room.Â
"More or less. Though he's still looking for a partner. Someone who can be at the club and help run things," He looked back at you, "Someone who has been working here for a while and was already unofficially running the place."Â
You knew damn well who he was referring to. Your lips tightened as a pang of panic peaked through your brain at Bob Floydâs proposal. Was that why he was doing all this? So he makes a business deal?Â
He must have sensed this, as he quickly came back to the couch, bag of ice in hand, "If you want to. If you want to keep on singing here, you can. I also don't blame ya if you want to get the hell outta here."Â
Choices. You had multiple choices to choose from. When was the last time that had happened?Â
"What are you going to do to him?" It was haunting your mind. Was it worth staying here if you would always have to look over your shoulder?Â
Bob leaned in, his hand gently touching your knee, avoiding the bruises, "Whatever you want us to do."Â
Whatever?Â
"If you want me to put him six feet under, I'll do it," He elaborated, "If you want me to scare him off, make sure he never comes within twenty feet of ya, I can do that too."Â
More choices. It was your problem, you should have a say in how it was solved.Â
"It's up to you Dove," He said, his thumb softly stroking your knee.Â
You liked his touch. You wanted more of it. He was so gentle.Â
"I wantâŚ..I want him gone Bobby. I want to never worry about whether he'll show his face again," You revealed. The idea of it being a threat, always looming in the shadows, was terrifying. How could one expect you to sleep soundly at night?Â
Bob nodded his head. He leaned in and gingerly pressed the bag of ice to the corner of your eye.Â
âIâm sorry,â he said as soon as he saw you wince, âIt's going to hurt a little, but the cooling will help with the bruising.âÂ
âIt would be nice to sing again and actually enjoy it. You think Maverick can actually turn this place around?â You placed your hand on his wrist. Bob wanted nothing more than to take yours and kiss your soft skin.Â
That would be taking it too far. Yes, ironic, considering he already kissed your temple and collarbone. Was a collarbone kiss more intimate than a wrist kiss? Or was it the other way around?Â
âBobby?â A soft, sweet giggle fell from your lips upon seeing how his brows knitted together when he was in deep concentration.Â
âSorry Dove, what did you say?â Bob asked sheepishly. He didn't know what was worse, confessing he was distracted by your beauty or that he was thinking about kissing your body.Â
âDo you think Maverick will turn this place around? Not trying to doubt your boss, but if it's just seen as a way to get back at SimpsonâŚ.I don't know if I'd want to stay.âÂ
Bobâs heart sank. If you wanted to walk out of this place, he'd burned your contract in a heartbeat. He couldn't blame you for desiring it either. But selfishly, he wanted you to stay. He wanted to hear your voice, see your smile, and speak without having to walk on eggshells in case a certain someone was listening.Â
âI think he will. Heâll probably give the place to either Jake or Bradley, either one of them will do a good job just to piss off the other,â Bob chuckled, âBesides, he doesn't want the transfer to be a big deal, so I don't see him firing folks, other than those that are loyal to Simpson. Which isn't that many. Maybe three?â Bob scratched his head, trying to think of the actual number.Â
You snorted, âThree's a pretty generous number.âÂ
When Bob Floyd laughs, the corners of his eyes creased and he threw his head back. It was the sweetest discovery. It was also the first time you truly laughed, full belly, that day. Probably the first time in weeks. Lightness flooded your body, despite the bruises and cuts that currently marked it.Â
âAnd if Maverick owns it, I'll be here more. I can make sure you're safe. If that's what you want!â Bob added the last part quickly. You had just gotten out of a relationship from hell, one that involved controlling behavior. The last thing he wanted was for you to think similarly of him.Â
Your lips stretched into a smile, âI'd like thatâŚto see you more. Whenever you came to visit, it was always the highlight of my day.âÂ
Bob couldn't help but beam, his heart fluttering at a pace that should be medically concerning, âI felt the same about you Dove.âÂ
Upon receiving a bright smile from you, Bob removed the bag of ice from your face, fingers delicately skimming over the bruised skin. It was as good as it was going to get. He would be happy to help you ice it later, if that's what you wanted. Bob would give you the world if he could.Â
Gathering all the courage he had (ironic considering he's killed people before), he leaned in, allowing his lips to press against your cheek. This time, it wasn't stained with tears or smudged makeup. A refreshing change that Bob hoped he could help keep.Â
You leaned into his touch, fingers finding purchase in the lapels of his black jacket. Looking up, your noses brushed, his lips inches away from yours, if that.Â
You could stay like this forever. In his arms, you felt safe. You felt like you could joke and laugh and be yourself.Â
Knowing how soft his lips were made you wonder how theyâd feel against your own. It wasn't the first time this thought flashed through your brain. But it was the first time you were close enough to find out.Â
Simpson will be gone, Bob would make sure of that. There wasnât anyone to fear, you could just lean in and-
A loud knock interrupted the sweet moment. Fear swept through your body as you buried your face into Bobâs chest.Â
He pressed a quick kiss to your cheek before telling you to get in the corner, right behind the mini fridge. You did as you were told, crouching down to make yourself invisible to whoever walked through the door.Â
In your position you could see Bob, pulling out the gun he had tucked in the waistband of his pants. He quickly cocked it as he moved swiftly towards the door. It was locked but that didnât deter people here.Â
âFloyd, you in there?â A familiar voice rang out on the other side. Relief flooded your body at the sound of Natashaâs voice. She was a rare sight, working more behind the scenes. It must be pretty bad if they brought her in.Â
But Bob remained silent, back pressed to the wall, gun in hand. He couldnât take any risks. Not when it came to your safety. The way he effortlessly demonstrated his care made you wish that Natasha had waited twenty seconds before knocking.Â
âThe rodeo is all cleared,â Nat said. At the sound of their code word, Bob let out a sigh of relief. With his gun still in one hand (just in case), he opened the door, revealing the dark haired woman, who also had a matching gun in hand.Â
âWe finally got him to sign over the place. Now weâre figuring out what to do with him. Got any ideas?â She asked with a smirk.Â
Bob turned to your direction, as you were now standing by the couch, âI think thatâs her decision. She had to bear the brunt of him after all.â
Natasha peered over, taking in your bruises and cuts. She nodded, to silently show her understanding, âWhat would you like?â
You had a choice. What even was the right thing in this scenario? Was it letting someone live, despite all their wrongdoings? Or was it preventing him from hurting anyone else? The blood wouldnât be on your hands, literally. But you still played a part.Â
âIâŚ.I want him gone. To not be able to come back to this place and hurt people. You guys know how to do that better than I do.âÂ
You saw them nodding to each other. They had probably made a decision. It was obvious what was going to happen, but you didn't say it out loud. Does that relieve you of some responsibility?Â
Maybe. Probably not. But it made you feel better inside.Â
âYou wanna come atch?â Natasha asked, motioning to you and Bob.Â
Seeing you shake your head, Bob mimicked, âI'll stay up here with her. Make sure she's all cleaned up.âÂ
You sat down on the couch, waiting for Natasha to leave. It warmed your heart that Bob chose to stay with you. Maybe he also felt it too, that spark of kismet that circuited back and forth.Â
Bob kneeled down in front of you, eyes and hands inspecting your arms and your legs. His gentle touch left goosebumps along your skin. You shifted to the edge of the couch, clearly to help him inspect the rest of your wounds.Â
No other reason.Â
âI gotta clean up this scrape, don't want it to get infected.â A lovely gesture, considering you didn't make enough money to qualify for health insurance.Â
You nodded your head. His large hand placed itself on the back of your leg, the other gently pressing a wipe against the cut.Â
âYou'll hear a gunshot pretty soon,â he warned, not wanting you to be alarmed. You nodded, bracing yourself for the imminent noise.Â
Except you didn't hear a gunshot. You heard several voices arguing.Â
âWho the fuck are you?!âÂ
âGet him!âÂ
âGet the gun!âÂ
Then, you heard a gunshot.Â
âGod dammit,â Bob cursed under his breath. His eyes darted to the door that Natasha left a hair open.Â
He moved quickly, not even waiting for you to stand up. Instead, he wrapped an arm around your waist, the other underneath your thighs and picked you up. He carried you to the closest, gently sitting you down in the dark space.Â
âIâll be right back, Dove. But I need you to stay here. I'm going to lock the other door, but don't open it to anyone. Even if you hear my voice, don't open it unless I use the rodeo, okay?â His voice was hushed, his ocean eyes piercing your soul.Â
He was leaving. A fight had broken out when they tried to off Cyclone. Started by either him or his two loyal goons. Bob was going to leave you.Â
He might not come back.Â
âNo,â your voice shook like a leaf in the wind, âPlease- don't leave me!âÂ
His fingers stroked your cheeks in an attempt to bring comfort, âIâll be back, okay? But I gotta go in order to protect you. I donât want him or one of those goons to find ya.â
In the distance, a familiar voice yelled out your name. A voice that made your blood turn to ice.Â
Bob was operating off of adrenaline, off of the primal need to protect you. Desire was coursing through him as well. Your tears were for him, not because he brought you pain but rather you cared so much for him that the thought of him not returning tugged on your heart strings. He wanted to wait, to make sure you were ready and then take you out on a nice date.Â
The nice Italian place that was secretly a front for Sliderâs real business. Despite being a front, it made some of the best penne alla vodka in town.Â
But a nice date wasn't at the forefront of Bobâs mind currently. Rather, it was your lips and how they were quivering, how soft they looked.Â
His mama would smack him upside the head if she could see him now, kissing a girl he hadnât taken out on a date yet.Â
She would also smack the shit out of him for lying about his job all these years.Â
Bob was too lost in the softness of your lips. Your hands found their way into his soft hair, gripping the strands to deepen the kiss. His lips were so soft, his hands gentle as they cupped your jawline, as though he didnât want to apply additional pressure, as though he didnât want to cause you any harm.Â
You truly believed that was his intent.Â
The kiss seemed to go on forever, but simultaneously not long enough. Sounds of heavy footsteps and yelling in the hallway caused him to break away. Your hands remained on the lapels of his jacket, silently begging him.Â
Please. Don't go. Stay with me. Please.Â
âI'll be back, okay Dove?â he whispered before pressing a quick kiss to your lips once more. He removed your hands from the lapels, silently standing up. Bob paused for a brief moment, for what you hoped (in vain) was him considering staying. Instead, he took off his jacket and placed it on your shoulders.Â
You wanted to shout, but that would be deadly. All you could do was watch Bob close the door, listen to the sound of his gun cocking and then a second door closing.Â
Left in the dark. Alone. Bringing your knees up to your chest, you tried rocking yourself back and forth, silently willing the tears building up to go away.Â
They still fell.Â

im so tired but i want to get this out before i forget. this might end up uncomprehensible byt whatever. anyways.
shen qingqiu. shizun. shen yuan, right? that guy. for some reason i have this really strange itch that just- a singer shen yuan au would cure. like im thinking barbie princess and the pauper type singer au. like he was transmigrated a bit after uh binghes blakening ig. maybe he just got out of the abyss, right? on his way to go torture his shizun and all that gof stuff.
shen yuan was just placed into this npc type guy, not relevant to the plot really. maybe hes a brother to uh one of bingges future wife? but anyways, his family's pretty poor so they do all they can to make a few extra coins. he finds out he has a pretty nice voice from um, singing his little sister to sleep? something sweet like that. his family urges him to give it a try, telling him everyone would love his voice. after getting over his embarrassment, he gives it a shot. I imagine he like tries to remember certain songs from yknow. barbie.. barbie songs. i love Barbie.
and hes all like "well no ones gonna recognize it ill just say i wrote it its fineeee" and then that kind of backfires on him when airplane stumbles upon a random dude singing "i need to know" from the hit barbie movie babrie as the island princess. (im just like you, youre just like me!!) actually it'd be funny if he only sung barbie songs. like theyre just melted into his brain after all the times his little sister had forced him to watch them with her. anyways, they hit it off.. in more ways then one. that sounds like a sex joke, its not. im implying he beat bro up. pidw author and all.
anways uh maybe airplane like helps him out and like they get shen yuan to start performing for like important things. idk. uh. good entertainment for the richer ppl yknow. hes become pretty popular now. its hard to book him, with all the requests hes getting now. now this is where bingge comes in. bro needs a performer for an upcoming.. wedding? i guess? he needs to entertain guests so he books the most popular guy right? shen yuan, upon realizing binghe, the heavenly demon emperor, wants to hire him, absolutely freaks out.
he doesnt want anything to do with the protagonist!! he was living a pretty good life!! and every man that comes into contact with binghe either ends in a gruesome death or are thrown into cellars! thats just how pidw was written!! so obviously, the best course of action is to ignore it! ignore everything! uhhh.. bad idea, really. he basically just sends a letter back saying "haha sorry cant, busy!!!"
and binghe.. binghe does not take that all too well. who would've thought. not shen yuan. who dared ignore the literal emperor!? conqueror of realms??!! and so, he sets out to go see for himself how "busy" this lowly singer is!! que dramatic scene where binghe walks into a pub and theres like at least 50 or so people crowded to the back. hes confused at first, before he hears this almost angelic voice. it seems to wash over the entire pub, entrancing its residents. like a siren calling out.
there isnt exactly a "stage" in this pub, so he cant really see whos singing. he quickly makes his way towards the crowd and pushed his way through. after the people realize who he is, its easy enough. his eyes land on one of the most beautiful humans he's ever seen. his eyes are almost crystal clear in this lighting. a warmish brown, almost orange. his auburn brown hair is fully down, embellished with golden jewels and hair tinsel. a strange look.. but it works on him. and his skin..
before he can ogle anymore, the angelic mans voice tapers off, leaving the crowd disappointed. binghe looks up to see the other staring at him, eyes wide.
might continue this tmr or like fix it up a bit.. but yeah.. singer shen yuan save me.. please i need him so badly. also i love fics that have bingge and shen yuan bickering theyre always so good. i love them being silly in strange ways. part 2!!!
