literally why are we still discussing whether a victim of physical and verbal abuse at the hands of his mother whose father never protected him, and a girl who lived in perpetual terror of people she cared for dying in various horrible ways, finding a quiet moment to consider what they, themselves, actually want, and ending up chosing to have children---two fat, happy children who will learn the easy way to be brave, who will never know the fear and pain their parents used to live with---is a good or bad ending? obviously this is a positive thing. obviously.

honestly kudos to Elementary for gender swapping John Watson in what we all thought was an attempt to make johnlock palatable to the masses and then proceeding to not only make them entirely platonic but also become the ONLY modern adaptation where i actually feel like them being platonic makes complete sense

Hilary Swank isn't a survivor or law enforcement ❌ Ugh
Walter has ulterior motives / I think Walter's ulterior motives are literally just that he's obsessed with Misty and will do anything to keep her in his life. Whether that means he murdered Lottie himself I'm not sure, but we already know he will resorte to murder to feel wanted by Misty, like Misty resorted to dooming the YJs to life (and death) in the wilderness to continue "belonging." Speaking of...
Teen Natalie does something kind/sacrificial for Misty ✅ / She's absolutely going to keep Misty's transponder secret hence "Hey Misty, you crazy fucking bitch."
Last Yellowjackets theories before S3 kicks off:
Teen Shauna straight up murders somebody (I'm 50/50 on Adult Shauna also murdering somebody tbh)
Mari is the first pit girl, but NOT the pit girl from the pilot
Walter has ulterior motives
Jeff and Walter become friends and Jeff tells him things he shouldn't
Ben didn't burn down the cabin (but I'm undecided who did)
Hilary Swank isn't a survivor or law enforcement (the latter is more so my hope rather than a prediction.. please let us be free of the Adam Martin shit)
Tai is the world's worst wife who shamelessly cheats with Van while Simone is hospitalized (and we probably don't see Sammy 😔)
Teen Natalie does something kind/sacrificial for Misty that explains why Adult Misty is so fiercely loyal to her and not the others
We don't see the rescue this season, but likely reach the time of the feast from the pilot
BONUS: Adult Lottie continues to be hot af

I'm a diehard believer that Juliette Lewis leaving the show after S2 screwed the show's original long term plan. Obviously I don't know anything and this is just speculation, but I'm thinking Shauna is the only adult character getting their original storyline as outlined when they all started. I think her and Nat were meant to last until the end, along with Misty. It would make more sense in terms of paralleling the wilderness story if it were Nat who had found a bit of peace after S2 & her experience with Lottie, and that in itself triggered Shauna to return to the worst version of herself.
Despite her deep unhappiness with her life, I think she always saw herself as superior to Natalie due to Nat spiralling into addiction after rescue. She was dismissive and rude about Tai paying for rehab. If Nat were to start demonstrating more of a sense of peace with herself and their shared past, it would only trigger Shauna's resentment and rage that she's no longer as outwardly miserable as she is. It would essentially be like Shauna ceased to wield power over her (aka stopped living rent-free in Nat's head). I can see a scene with similar dynamics to the Shauna-Melissa confrontation, and the way it exploded in violence (adjusted to the specifics of Shauna and Nat's relationship of course).
Shauna despises that Nat turned out to be a great leader who was well-respected and liked by the others, while Shauna could only rule through fear. She was supposed to blossom into the person she always saw herself as once Jackie was out of the picture, but all the trauma and horror she experienced changed her irrevocably and seeing Nat doing alright would stir up all those old bitter emotions.
Anyway, this is just my sense of how the character dynamics could have played out. As much as I like Hilary Swank, the Melissa character still isn't particularly compelling and is a poor replacement for Natalie, Lottie OR Van. If we were going to get another survivor after Nat died, it should have been Mari.
