There's a rush of radiant energy in the air, whenever Anna & Jacob are posing together before our cameras. From the beginning of ceremonial events to Anna bidding farewell to her family, we felt like we are living a divine dream lit up by the power of true love. Our stunning bride Anna was dolled up in a classy wedding gown, finely crafted by Wed2B Dublin. Her breathtaking look of the day was aced with delicate diamond jewelry from Alphaclarte Diamonds. The refined and smooth bridal makeover by Anez Anzare accentuated the look in a minimal yet elegant palette, by adding that much desired bridal glow. Anna's beautiful 'Manthrakodi' is from the very famous Milan Design. Our crew was completely in awe of the intricate details of event decor planned and coordinated by the professionals at Executive Events. For the photos, we have aimed for top-notch clarity and quality achieved through our advanced grading techniques. The groom and bridal portraits of Anna & Jacob are polished with very minimum adjustments to preserve the lively palette of the day as such. Our signature black and white sequels are prepared by handpicking the most invaluable shots from the wedding, that really moved our hearts. As we see, the couple portraits of Anna & Jacob are full of life and love with their sparkling chemistry. The low angle ceremonial shots from the church own a spacial place in our hearts as they are solely composed of pure candids brimming with emotions. The venue shots and flatlay detailing consist of rich Mahagony undertones brushing up the homely feels of Kerala Christian Weddings.

Making my own wedding check list because all the ones online were useless for me.
Choosing a date:
You can have a special day to you and your partner or you can work around the dates your venue has available like we did. Some venues will give discounts for out of wedding season or for a weekday wedding. A Friday in March saved us a few grand.
Choosing a venue:
Do an internet search
Ask some friends where they’ve attended weddings
Go view a few, when you know you know. There’s a feeling.
Find caterers and DJs and decorators if not provided by the venue find a photographer
Discuss things you may want with your venue and see if they can accommodate, ours pretty much worked around anything we wanted.
What time do you want the ceremony?
We choose late afternoon and skipped a sit down meal.
Called your registrar and book them for your day, pay a deposit and ask when you need to give notice.
Giving notice is something you need to book at your local registry office, you and your partner will have separate interviews to ensure you know each other and are marrying for the right reason
Choose your bridal party.
Bridesmaids
Maid of honour
Bestmam
Ushers/groomsmen
Discuss what food and drinks you want at the wedding with your venue or outside caterer
Are you having desserts or using your wedding cake?
Oh and look into wedding cakes p.s shop around and you can get free samples.
Have you chosen a theme or just some colours?
Look into this with your partner
Start to look at dresses and suits etc
Wed2b in wednesbury were great. But you can totally get the extras and accessories cheaper elsewhere.
Dapperdans suit rental are good to! 6 suits for the price of 4!
Ask what your bridesmaids are and are not comfortable with wearing.
Look online and in stores for bridesmaid dresses.
Have you brought matching shoes? Or shoes for the bridesmaids?
Guest list! Don’t try to invite everyone you’ve ever met and really put your foot down with people inviting other people. It’s your wedding! They can invite them to their own or to sit outside with them after you uninvited them! It’s your mom!? Still not her wedding!!!
We didn’t stand up and say no enough!
Invites!
First save the dates about a year before! To day guests but you can do evening if you want
About 8-6 months before the big day send out invites. Separate for day and evening. Use words like invite you to their evening reception or invite you to their wedding ceremony to keep confusion out.
Include a rsvp date on the invite, about 2-3 months before the wedding
Once these return you can finalise your guest list.
Buy your dress, rent your suits!
Find a seamstress if you need alterations! Book in for dress fittings! Take your shoes, bra, veil, underskirt and any accessories you have for your dress.
Okay time to finalise it all! Pay it all
Make an appointment with your venue, caterer and any other bits you’ve booked.
Have a fab hen/stag you don’t have to drink!

Returning back to work
25/04/21
In the last week a lot has happened
A previous employer I have mentioned in this blog contacted me to work for them again. Wed2B, a bridal company have asked me to work for them again while I’m at home for the next couple of months as they are understaffed and need staffed who are fairly trained. I agreed as I loved working for them before leaving to go to university also it will really helpful to work so closely with wedding dresses again as most of them have built in corsetry and boning. I feel il benefit a lot from this as well as use this as inspiration. I could also look further into the idea of a placement with the design team here as I discussed in the beginning of the year.
Now lockdown has more or less come to an end I have been called back to my pub job. I know it sounds crazy to work two jobs along side this placement but I have worked multiple jobs along side major final projects when studying in college so I don’t think it will be that challenging. It will take a bit of time to get use to as I was expecting to have a couple of weeks in between starting back at both jobs the ease into it but the pubs are opening earlier than previously expected.

Where Should I buy My Wedding Dress?
https://www.the-hungryplaice.uk/where-should-i-buy-my-wedding-dress
Where Should I buy My Wedding Dress?
So the exciting time has come for you to pick your Wedding Dress….there are so many to choose from and places to go where do you start?!!!
What options are there to buy a Wedding Dress and should I buy my Wedding Dress Online?
1. Specialist Bridal Wedding Dress Shops
For the full experience of Wedding Dress shopping there is nothing like a Specialist Wedding Dress Shop or Boutique, you will be given a first class service and treated like royalty.
Most of these shops will be appointment only and you may have to make a payment for your appointment on booking.
There will be a wide range of dresses to choose from in all shapes and sizes and some of these shops will specialise in specific designers.
These types of shops will make your dress to your requirements and you will have to order your dress in advance so you would need to allow a number of months from the time of ordering to when your dress will arrive, you will then need to allow time for any fittings to ensure it is fitted to your figure.
Prices in Specialist shops will vary but it is expected that you will probably be paying more than other types of shops as these gowns will be made especially for you.
These shops will likely offer a range of accessories like Wedding Shoes and Wedding Veils so you can have a one stop shop for your special day.
A number of such shops will also sell other Wedding Party outfits such as Bridesmaids dresses and Grooms Wear but you might decide to pick somewhere that is exclusively Bridal Dresses.
2. Off The Peg Wedding Dress Shops
If you want to take your Wedding Dress away on the day and would like to spend less money you can opt for a Wedding Dress shop that sells off the peg.
The dresses that you will find may have been tried on by several people and so you may have to contend with small marks here and there and loose threads for example but you might come across something completely unique and special to you.
You should be prepared that you may come across a one-off special dress and it is not the right size for you so go in with an open mind.
You will have to consider having a fitting done for any of these off the peg Wedding Dresses so keep that in mind whilst browsing through the rails, remember to take a look at the seams and ask the shop owners for help on their opinion of whether your dress could be altered for you.
A lot of shops will also sell Wedding Accessories like Specialist Bridal Stores and in some cases these items will be the same in Off the Peg Shops but you should find these are a lot cheaper which will help your Wedding Budget!
3. High Street Shops that Sell Wedding Dresses
There are several High Street Department Shops that sell Wedding Dresses such as Debenhams, John Lewis and Monsoon as well as Designer Stores like Ted Baker.
You have the advantage of being able to buy these straight away but you will have to consider fittings and these will not be very exclusive to you as they will be sold across the country.
As these are likely to be mass produced I’m guessing that Wedding Dress Designers may argue that the quality may not be as good as you find in specialist stores in terms of the layerings and seams so that these can be altered during fittings.
Here is a list you can see on the Cosmopolitan website
https://www.cosmopolitan.com/uk/fashion/style/g4924/high-street-brands-that-sell-wedding-dresses/
4. Wedding Dress Chain Stores
There are Wedding Dress Chains such as Wed2B and David’s Bridal these chains have a number of shops around the UK and you may be able to see prices of dresses on their websites and could be able to call and check stock availability if there were particular dresses that you liked.
These are specialist stores so you will expect to find designer ranges and good quality dresses, again bear in mind you will have to pay for any alterations to be made to your dress.
5. Buying Online
If you chose to buy your Wedding Dress online the choices are endless, there might be a specialist dress shop selling online, or a clothes manufacturer that sells Wedding Dresses, there is even a surge in websites like wish.com, aliexpress.com and lightinthebox.com where they sell a huge range of items alongside dresses.
You could end up finding a bargain on that Designer Dress you had your eye on and save yourself a great deal of money.
Obviously there is a huge risk in buying something that you cannot see from photos on the internet so be prepared for poor quality non-standard sizing and colour differences, some people would argue that the photos of the dresses are nowhere near what they received. You may also have issues with customer service and language barriers that would make it difficult if something went wrong with your order.
I would recommend that you check out any feedback if you can which can help you with your purchase I'm sure there are some great dresses to be found if you know where to look.
Watch out for delivery timings and allow yourself for extra time should your item not turn up.
6. Secondhand Shops and Online Auction Sites
This is well worth a mention and you never know what you might find! There is no harm in buying second hand in fact there seems to be a revolution right now in sustainability in the world and clothing is no different.
A Wedding dress has only been worn once and in some cases for only a few hours so after a dry clean they should be as good as new, you’ll be doing something for the environment and you’ll save yourself lots of money that you could put towards another part of your Wedding Budget.
Ebay is an obvious place to start, there is also Facebook, Gumtree and Shpock, it will take some trawling to find something you like but by putting in a little effort you will be saving yourself £100s.
I would also recommend you try looking in Charity Shops to find your perfect Wedding Dress, there are so many independent shops that have opened recently in large City Centres as well as the larger well-known names.
Oxfam has gone one step further and has a bridal section on their website check out this link
https://www.oxfam.org.uk/shop/local-shops/oxfam-bridal-departments
So, there are many places to think about when buying your Wedding Dress it doesn’t just need to be limited to the Specialist Boutiques have a look around and see what is on offer and think about all the other points discussed above
…happy Wedding Dress Shopping!!!

Julia and Scott’s
Gorgeous Cool Shabby Chic Wedding
WEDDING DATE: 02/09/2017
WEDDING LOCATION: Risley Hall, Derbyshire
HOW AND WHERE DID YOU MEET: We met on a dating website
WEDDING THEME: Funky boho, shabby chic
THE WEDDING DAY:
Being artists, portraiture and Professional DJ we wanted our wedding to be traditional but with a hint of our vibrant personalities (and my hair) and creative flair. Our skills enabled us to do everything ourselves from the invites, personalised sweetbar, cake, to the flowers and all the personal touches that made our day so perfect and special.
Our colour palette was inspired by the approaching autumnal colours and we were blessed with perfect weather which added to the vibrancy of the day. We wanted it to be a happy, relaxed and fun affair and I think we achieved that while still retaining the traditional values of a church wedding.
Essentially we wanted a wedding people would remember, laugh and smile about for years to come, something a little bit outside the box. It’s a day we will never forget and I think that is because it was a DIY wedding.
DRESS DESIGNER: WED2B
WEDDING BUDGET: £10500
HOW MANY PEOPLE ATTENDED: 76 day, 110 evening
PHOTOGRAPHER: Shell Woodward
HAIR / MAKE UP:
www.frostandbuxton.co.uk.
Tracey buxton and Camille Thorpe
I did my own makeup
TIPS FOR FUTURE BADASS BRIDES:
Always negotiate with the venue. We had a cake of cheese with crackers,
( homemade food ) instead of an evening buffet saving £1500 and didn’t have tea/coffee saving £230
Doing your own flowers is easier than you think and I made 5 bouquets, 5 button holes, 9 flower arrangments, high low top table and 2 x pedestals for £300 probably saving £600.
Don’t bother with hiring cars, ask around and see if you have a friend with a nice set of wheels you can borrow. Save you 100’s
Don’t bother hiring men’s suits, we just asked the groomsmen to wear a dark grey suit and it looked great saved £500
When you have a food tasting, take a picture of the food as it is presented and send to the venue a few days before…as we found different chefs interpret menu selections in different ways!
Love Julia xxx
