WEDDING COUPLE: Alexandra & Wesley
INSTAGRAM: @alexandraannamua and @bluewes80
WEDDING DATE: 20th June 2019
WEDDING LOCATION: East Quay Venue, Whitstable @eastquayweddings
WHERE DID YOU MEET: Tinder- we both swiped right, talked for about 10 days before we had our first date on the Southbank in London. We stayed out drinking and dancing to a Luther Vandross cover band until our last train home
WEDDING THEME: Nautical, Boho, Vintage, Colourful

THE WEDDING DAY:
We both wanted a wedding that reflected us, relaxed and fun but still beautiful with lots of little touches making it personal to us. Wes has always lived by the sea, so a seaside location was important too. We wanted our children to be involved as well, so each of them even down to our two year old had a part to play in the wedding itself. Dylan, Wes’ eldest was his best man and ring bearer- he’s autistic so this was a huge job for him which he did brilliantly, Wes’s daughter Arwen was one of our bridesmaids and the two youngest boys were both page boys alongside our nephew.
As soon as we walked into East Quay Venue we knew we had found our venue, it is right on the beach in one of the most beautiful and quirky little seaside towns in Kent. Not only was Wes happy with a seaside venue, but Whitstable has always been one of our favourite places to visit, even more so as Wes can see his beloved Southend across the Estuary on a clear day!
I arrived in a vintage VW Beetle and my bridal party in a vintage VW campervan, I cried as soon as I saw the venue decorated as it was even better than I had imagined! I walked down the aisle to an acoustic version of “Times Like These” by Foo Fighters. Sung by the amazing Redfords acoustic duo.
We had Katie Keen from True Blue Ceremonies conduct our ceremony and she wrote a perfect script for our ceremony, telling our story of how we met and how we had gotten to our big day. We had so many comments on how lovely our ceremony was and how great it was to hear how we met as some people didn’t realise we were a Tinder match! Katie also suggested one of our readings for our fifteen year old to read as some of the readings out there aren’t suitable for a teenage girl to read about her dad! She read an excerpt from Wild Awake by Hilary T Smith and my friend and bridesmaid Beth read “He’s Not Perfect” by Bob Marley. She gave the most perfect dramatic pause after the opening line “he’s not perfect” which had everyone laughing.
Following the ceremony The Redfords sang “Never Too Much” by Luther Vandross which we first danced to on our first date and then we walked out to Three Little Birds by Bob Marley which is a song that means a great deal to us and our little boy was born to that song.
The Redfords then continued to play out on the beach during our drinks reception which just added to the relaxed beachy vibe we were going for.
During the photos we served Pimms and a Pimp your Prosecco stand for guests to have a bit of fun with.
I Do Devoted Dreams provided us with a lot of our decorations for the tables and the venue itself. We hired a lot of fairy lights from them to decorate inside and outside the venue. I bought pastel lanterns from a friend who had used them for her wedding and Emily and her team put them up for me over the dancefloor- they created such an impact.
My bridesmaid Jane hand painted our name cards for us, our tables were named after bands we had seen together; we had mini chalkboards with our music themed table names and in the week before the wedding we decided to add album covers to each of the tables as well to really show off the music theme we had gone for.
I do Devoted Dreams provided wildflowers in jars for the tables, hessian table runners and we had tealights in lace covered jars.
We provided a couple of Instax polaroid cameras for people to use and write in our guestbook, blankets in a basket for if people got cold in the evening as we were on the beach and a flip flop basket for those tired feet!
It was so lovely seeing it all come together on the day as I had worked so hard to try and think of little touches to make the day more special. It meant a lot that many of our guests told us how much they appreciated everything we had done. My nana and grandad even told me it was the best wedding they had ever been to which is high praise indeed!
For the evening entertainment we had a DJ so people could request whatever they liked and I also hired the amazing Luxurious Glitter, an eco friendly glitter bar to come and glitter up my guests! Wes isn’t a massive glitter fan but he knew how much I love it! I actually ended up working for them following the wedding and as of this month I now own and run it so it was most definitely meant to be!
The whole day went by so quickly and we still wish we could do it all again. We had so much fun and it was personal to us and everyone we know told us how special it was and they had never seen a venue like it!

ANY TIPS ON GUESTS, FAMILY:
We hired a creche to come in from 4pm until 10pm to look after the little ones. It was quite possibly the best money we spent on the wedding as it allowed our families and us to enjoy the day. We used Carousel Creche Company @carouselcreche
BUDGET SAVING IDEAS: Food! If your venue allows, do it yourself. We originally looked at having a hog roast for our evening food but that would have been around £1200. We ordered Papa Johns in for less than £250 and it was so popular!
WEDDING FAVOURS: We had charity pin badges for two charities close to our hearts @demelzahospice where Alex works and @nationalautisticsociety as Wes’ eldest is autistic
TIPS FOR FUTURE BADASS BRIDES:
Keep it you. Don’t do something because you feel you have to, it’s yours and your partners day so do you what you both want 🙂

Alice & Ben‘s
Most Beautiful & Colourful Wedding
.
WEDDDING COUPLE: Alice and Ben
INSTAGRAM: @alicekathryn_ @penberry_
WEDDING DATE: 05/10/19
WEDDING LOCATION: The Riverside, Stratford-Upon-Avon
WHERE DID YOU MEET: Third year at De Montfort University both “modelling” (term used VERY loosely) in a charity fashion show.
WEDDING STYLE: Colourful surprise wedding with bonus dinosaurs!
.
📷📷📷
.
THE WEDDING DAY:
We always knew we weren’t “traditional wedding people”, don’t get us wrong we love weddings and some of our nearest and dearest have had amazing pretty traditional days and we’ve had the best time celebrating their love but it was just never very us.
Ben floated the idea of a surprise wedding around a while ago and I never expected we would actually do it… But we did! It meant we didn’t have all the hype, the constant conversation about nothing but the wedding and it took a lot of the stress and pressure a wedding can bring off us. Also it took away that expectation, people just came to celebrate our engagement and have a party and instead we surprised them by getting married! We really didn’t care that they hadn’t got their hair done or bought a new outfit we just wanted them there! It was exactly the relax unique and happy day we’d always dreamed of.
We got married at 5pm which meant we had all morning together (everyone always says they didn’t have enough time just bride and groom on their big day) before doing a first look with our photographer once we were all dressed up! This meant we got all of the photos of us done and out the way before we walked down the aisle together after revealing the surprise we were getting married. Post ceremony we could head straight into the party and people didn’t have to do all that waiting around that usually occurs at weddings.
We created all our decorations ourselves including a senbazuru (1000 paper cranes) to bring good fortune as origami has a special meaning to us, Ben folded me a paper bird the first night we kissed. We loved how colourful and us the venue ended up looking. We had the best most us day and wouldn’t change a thing.

WEDDING FOOD: It was really important for everything edible at the wedding to be vegan so we could eat away without a worry. We had an epic Mexican feast. We also had an amazing doughnut wall which was from @thesteamhousebakery
ANY TIPS ON GUESTS, FAMILY: You can’t please everyone but the reality is when it comes down to it they love you, want you to be happy and want to be there to join you in your happiness.
BUDGET SAVING IDEAS:
Getting married later in the day is a really good way to save a few £££s as food ends up being the most expensive thing and it means you only have to feed people once! Our photographer was amazing and worth every penny but was also our biggest expense, having the wedding later meant we could save a couple of hours charge!
WEDDING FAVOURS: The classic sweetie bar with personalised love hearts, all the sweets went down a treat and were from @theconsciouscandycompany
TIPS FOR FUTURE BADASS BRIDES: Do what you want and do it how you want it – if you’re having a good time the people that matter the most and love you will have a good time knowing you’re happy!

Lucy & David’s wedding at the Madonna Inn
If you are a crazy pink person like myself, you will not get enough of this wedding inspiration, OMG talk about a fabulous wedding 🙂
.
📷📷
.
WEDDING COUPLE: Lucy Luxe & David Gatt
INSTAGRAM: @thepinkpinup @mrluxedesign @thelucyluxe
WEDDING DATE: 25 April 2018
WEDDING LOCATION: The Madonna Inn, San Luis Obispo
WHERE DID YOU MEET: David and I met when he photographed me in the Garterbelts and Gasoline Pinup Contest in Australia in 2014. Little did we know he’d go on to take many, many photos of me and become my love for life too!
WEDDING THEME: It’s a nice day for a pink wedding
.
📷
.
THE WEDDING DAY:
Billy Idol praised the white wedding but me, well, it turns out I’m all for a wedding that’s as pink as possible!
Our vintage, pink wedding was inspired by our first trip to the pinkest place on earth: The Madonna Inn. The one of a kind, kitsch interiors and decor featuring so much of my favourite colour had me smiling bigger than David had ever seen.
It was this, which made the Inn the perfect place to get hitched. When I managed to get my mitts on my dream, vintage pink cupcake prom gown, it sealed the deal.
We decided to be wed in our favourite suite in the hotel: With pink glitter walls and golden cherubs hanging from the ceiling, it was hard to go wrong! As we only had a handful of close friends attending, space wasn’t a concern. With all the formalities out of the way in the matter of half an hour, we were husband and wife and ready to paint the Inn pink!
.
📷📷
.
HOW MANY PEOPLE ATTENDED: 4
PHOTOGRAPHER: Jill Kerswill @jillkerswillphoto
HAIR: Hair by @neciahairstyling
WEDDING FOOD: With a party of 6 in total, a simple dinner reservation was all the organising required for the reception. The décor of the Madonna Inn Steakhouse is the ready to go equivalent of the vintage wedding decorations of our dreams, so it was positively perfect. We did plan ahead and pre-order a cake from the Madonna Inn bakery to ensure out sweet tooth’s were satisfied: A cake lover like myself couldn’t leave this to chance!
.
📷📷
.
BUDGET SAVING IDEAS: Ahead of our ceremony, David and I got ready together, ignoring the traditional stance stating it’s bad luck. I even decided to do my own makeup and get wiggy with it thanks to pre-styled locks by Necia’s Hairstyling. I saw this as another easy means of eliminating both cost and potential stress.
TIPS FOR FUTURE BADASS BRIDES: You can have your do, and do you too! I think it’s important to play your day, your way: We were so happy we followed our hearts and married in our pink vintage heaven. We are also evidence you can have the vintage wedding of your dreams, minus all the dollar signs. You just have to think outside of the box!

Check out the SweetStyled Badass Wedding Shoot with Bianca and Danilo
So well, we met last year in September; my boyfriend is Italian but was living in London, and I am based in Italy, at the time he was in Italy on holidays visiting his family.
We suddenly came across each other on Instagram, he is tattoo artist and I was caught off guard by his work, so we start following each other. A few weeks later after one first “reaction” (by me) on his instagram story, we started talking, the whole day.
.
.
📷
.
He proposed to me, the day after he would come to my city, which was a couple of hours away from the Riviera where he was, I couldn’t do anything but accept!
.
.
So the day after my door bell rang, and there he was ! We went for a drink on top of a hill, looking at the city, talking and laughing all the time.
It ended with a pizza and a kiss.
..
📷
.
.
He drove back to his family and we kept chatting the days after!
To be honest, the distance wasn’t really a match point for us, we both were very busy with our jobs, cause I am a travelling Burlesque Performer and he a full time Tattoo Artist in London, so basically, none of us wanted a relationship, or worst, a long distance relationship!!
..
📷
.
.
But after this first encounter, a kiss and a pizza, we kinda were already too much into each other.
..
The week after our first date he visited again before flying back to London, I thought it would end with that second date, but no chance!
We felt disgustingly in love.
.
.📷
.
The month’s after we managed to see each other a few times, always less then 48h. But kept talking and video chatting every day. In december we spent more time together in Italy and in London.
.
.
…
📷
.
.
I knew Ludovica and Valerio since we had already done a few shoots together years ago, she was looking for a real couple to shoot with, since I think my boyfriend is one of the most beautiful men in the world, I asked him if he would like to do a shoot, he wasn’t really into it in the beginning, but loved the idea in the end to have something special just of and for us.
It then escalated quickly!
..
..
📷.
He asked if we could do it in London, cause he would like to have a fusion of us in that city that he felt in love with, in order to have something from both, me and the city, I couldn’t be more happy for his idea, Ludovica accepted immediately!
.
.
📷
📷
.
.
What we feel today, is like we had a real wedding, celebrating with ourselves, our love. We said our funny vows and went to one of the best music shops, because music plays a big part in both our lives, and we had a beautiful day walking around London aswell.
..
.📷
.
.
In the end we didn’t even notice Ludovica and Valerio, we were totally focussed on each other.
Maybe one day we’ll have a real wedding, with our friends and a huge party,
but its also beautiful to have had a day just for us, which is the most important right?
The love for each other !!
.

Andie P Artistry
Hair and Makeup artist based in Las Vegas
.Hi Andie, I have seen your incredible insta profile and your work is genius
Hi! Thanks for the kind words 📷.
I was curious as to how long you have been doing hair and make up in fabulous Las Vegas and what was your inspiration to be a stylist
I have been doing hair and makeup professionally since 2008. I started working for MAC as a freelance artist and I hated the sales portion of the job so I decided to go to cosmetology school.
I was SUPER into the Rockabilly scene since about 20 years old so I was always the “pinup girl” attempting to do victory rolls and winged liner. 📷
📷
..
After finishing cosmetology school i tried to assist a hairstylist with cuts and colors and she was HORRIBLE. I was her – “go get my lunch and coffee girl ” instead of really being inspiring to me.
I worked at several blowout bars, but what really inspired me was meeting the owner of HeadsWillRoll, Dottie Vee. She was sooo good with pinup hair and I was sooo interested in getting better. She saw something in me and asked me to be a part of her team. I fell in LOVE with my PINUP brides.
.
📷
.
Do you have any particular, style of hair and makeup that you love doing
My specialty NOW after soooo many years is the vintage waves 📷 I took a few classes from His Vintage Touch and Miss Rockabilly Ruby but was able to come up with my own way of doing it 🥰
.
📷
.So for the Bride to Be – and for the bridesmaids what would be your advice in booking a fabulous stylist like yourself ..Any tips for a smooth experience ?.
For the soon Bride to Be- DO YOUR RESEARCH! Google, Instagram, Yelp and even Facebook, wedding groups have tons of ways to research certain stylists.
Make sure you look for stylists that specialize in what you want. Not everyone can do it, just because they are a licensed cosmetologist doesn’t mean they know BRIDAL.
..
.
📷
..
.
Hashtags on IG are sooo important to find your perfect artist too. also, pay attention to how the stylist is speaking with you. You want someone that is professional and isn’t going to stand you up and always ask for an invoice or contract. Pleaseee do not assume because someone has over 30k followers on IG that they’re good 📷 I’ve heard stories about brides thinking they’re getting someone sooo amazing and popular but they’re ehhh not that great.
..
.📷
..
Hair and makeup is soooooo important,as well as the photos you’ll look at for the rest of your life. Don’t skimp on a good Artist for your special day 📷
.📷
..
.
What other services do you offer eg: photo – tv – commerical etc. Have you met anyone famous any cool experiences.
.
I do photo shoots and am available for any Tv or commercial shoots. I work for an amazing agency out here Leivagency that gets me the coolest gigs!
I haven’t worked with any big time celebrities and I honestly don’t care too lol I’ve been asked to and I’ve declined them. I’ve worked for certain jobs that require discretion and well the anxiety it gives me to work those jobs just isn’t worth it 📷
They DO pay sooooo well tho, but I’ll stick with my amazing fun brides.. thank you! Lol
.
If someone wanted to book you how do they get in contact with you.
Best way to book me is through IG. I’m on there 24/7 and am always checking my messages or you can email me at
.

Kathryn & Brent

WEDDING COUPLE: Kathryn & Brent

@katmeowreyna @brentreyna
WEDDING DATE: 01/04/2020
WEDDING LOCATION: The Pattison House (Pattison, Texas)
HOW AND WHERE DID YOU MEET:
Brent and I had been working together for quite awhile and went to lunch with a friend. An hour later Brent and I were talking nonstop for our love of basketball. Over the next 3 years we fell in love over endless basketball games, Harry Potter marathons, and our golden retriever Duncan.
.
📷
.
WEDDING THEME: Badass Pop Culture
THE WEDDING DAY:
We really wanted our wedding to reflect who we are and what we love. We managed to pull off a wedding that included Star Wars, Harry Potter, and leather jackets. All our big ideas came together and our day was bliss. We truly got to sit back and enjoy every moment of the day stress free with our family & friends.
I wanted that cliche photo of Brent getting the first look when I walked down the aisle, so we opted for a first touch. We shared our written vows then and it just set the day up to reflect us.
Our ceremony included music from Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Game of Thrones. All of the bouquets were made of Harry Potter book pages, and the boutonnieres had Star Wars lego pieces. Standing in front of Brent and being able to take in all these elements, it was truly us.

ANY TIPS ON GUESTS, FAMILY: The best advice I can give when forming your guest list is to remember that it is your day. When you are feeling overwhelmed, take a break and breathe for a moment and remember the meaning behind the day.
BUDGET SAVING IDEAS:
The biggest budget saving thing for our wedding was not doing any real flowers. I folded origami flowers out of Harry Potter book pages to make my bouquet, the bridesmaids bouquets, and the corsages. We used faux flowers (Hobby Lobby) to make the boutonnieres that had Star Wars lego figures glued on. For the tables we used the Harry Potter book pages to make 6-12 ft garland and folded more pages to make flowers. It was time consuming, but one of the best ideas we had.
Brent works for a wine/alcohol retail company, so finding a venue where we could bring in our own alcohol was important to us. This saved us a lot on our budget. Even if you don’t work in the industry, this will save you TONS!
Instead of doing the huge wedding cake, we opted for Nothing Bundt Cakes. That saved us a lot and we were able to order a custom made cake topper to represent us.
I designed and printed all of our invitations. This saved us so much, the invitations I though I wanted were over $800. I ended up doing it all for under $200.
Also, I gave my bridesmaids leather jackets as a gift. I got them during the summer on clearance and made less than I would have for faux leather!
TIPS FOR FUTURE BADASS BRIDES:
Do not settle for anything. If you want something bad enough to be in your wedding, try and make it happen. We recently got our wedding video and it was so incredible to sit back and watch it with no regrets. We truly made the day reflect us and didn’t let any opinions stop us. Remember this is y’all’s special day.
Last tip, if it can fit in your budget, please choose to have a videographer as well as a photographer.

Our wedding took place on a sunny day in October under a pergola surrounded by flowers and our dearest loved ones! We said our vows in private during our first look. Nothing in our wedding was traditional. It was not only the best day of our lives but probably one of the most bittersweet with my father in law being able to attend . 8 months prior to our wedding my husband had donated over half of his liver to his dad so he could be there to see us say “i do”. Our wedding was nothing other than amazing for not only me and my husband but for everyone who attended!

Flamingo Bridal
Unique wedding dress ideas
By
Katy Friday and Steph Vassallo
.
Please tell us a bit about your background
We are good friends, both living in Potterspury. After busy lives in London and 8 years looking after our children, we wanted to get creative and to work for ourselves in what is possibly the most fun job ever!
You’re just about to launch your vintage and retro bridal gown business, tell us how this has come about!
We have both always wanted to work within the bridal industry – who wouldn’t want to spend their days surrounded by beautiful dresses and happy brides (and a little bit of prosecco…)?! With many years of retail and bridal experience between us we have spent a long time dreaming of our own unique take on the business, and as Flamingo Bridal launches later this month, the dream is becoming reality. We have a shared love of finding something old and forgotten and restoring it to its former glory, or even transforming it into something new.
.
📷
.
Do you think that there is a market for vintage dresses?
Definitely! Everyone we have spoken to about our ideas, and those who have seen our dresses, have been really excited. There is such a movement towards sustainable fashion, and this is also true in bridalwear. Lots of brides would like a dress that is not from the mass market and would like to invest in a little bit of fashion history. All of our dresses are sourced from within the UK; they are beautiful, unique, ethical and affordable – and will be available in a luxurious bridal environment which is so important to us. Brides who would like a vintage or preloved dress shouldn’t miss out on the full bridal experience; we will offer high end vintage, bridal luxury and affordability in one place.
Where do you source your dresses?
We source our dresses from a variety of places. We rescue beautiful dresses from the back of old wardrobes, online auction sites and charity shops.
What made you decide to open your boutique in a caravan? (How big is it? Has it been fitted out? Will it be damp proofed? Etc.)
We wanted to offer something different; not just amazing dresses but the complete bridal experience in a fun and quirky environment. As such our appointments will soon take place at our beautifully restored vintage caravan, Penelope! We are so excited to use a vintage van for our boutique. Penelope is 20ft long and is currently being customised to become elegant and cosy, with space to view and try on a huge variety of dresses. Every bridal party will have the entire van to themselves, making it a really personal experience.
Penelope will also have the perfect backdrop, just outside Milton Keynes at the stunning Potterspury House. Although principally based at Potterspury House, we love the idea of being able to take the whole Flamingo Bridal experience to fairs and festivals around the country in the future! We are the only mobile bridal boutique in the UK that we know of; the mobile boutique business is something that seems to be really taking off in the United States and Australia, and only just starting over here.
Apart from Potterspury House (3 Poundfield Road, Potterspury) where else can brides to be see your range this spring?
Brides can visit our newly launched website www.flamingobridal.co.uk to see our current range, follow us on social media and contact us to book an appointment.

Mix in some untapped chemistry and here we are 9 years later!.📷.WEDDING DRESS:Deb, dress from The Bridal Studio, Palmerston NorthGROOM SUIT:Mike, custom suit by Barker’s WellingtonHOW MANY PEOPLE ATTENDED: 80WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER:Tash & Colin Macona Images @maconaimages.📷.HAIR / MAKE UP STYLISTS:Teena was in charge of hair and so freaken awesome! Totally in her element and the level of professionalism second to none! @studiofifty18Michaela Kaye @michaelakayemakeup This chick travelled from Auckland to us! Beautiful and professional, loved her makeup.📷.WEDDING FOOD:We got in a local catering company – Nosh @nosh_nz We had vegetarians, halal meat and pescaterians all catered for magnificently! Super stoked with the food & service. We did speciality cocktails, his & hers, we gave nosh our recipes & they executed them perfectly. Huge hit with the guests too. FYI the brides cocktail was the most popular (the bar staff kept count for us)📷📷BRIDESMAIDS & GROOM ATTIRE:The bridesmaids were wearing Stella Joy dresses, ordered from Australia all from the same collection but in different colours & styles. The groomsmen all wore suits from Halenstiens and our grooms lady wore an infinity dress she choose and poured through hours of YouTube to pick her favourite style..📷.WEDDING FAVOURS:Our way of wedding favours was to have a temporary tattoo station, they actually all loved it & we had about 100 tattoos there that all got used! We also had some retro tattoo buttons/magnets for them to take home if they so wished. All of which were snagged up immediately haha. Huge hit and everyone that knows us knows we love our tatts.Temporary tattoos from Buttonhead Esty Retro tattoo magnets from Distinct Design Unltd Esty.I also purchased the art prints around the station from Esty and now we have them on out walls at home, win win..📷.TIPS FOR FUTURE BADASS BRIDES:My tip would be to stay true to you and your partner, embrace your love & all your favourite things and people! I planned for a little under a year. Venue first, catering next, then a big gap of figuring out the things we wanted included which set our “theme”. We really didn’t have a set theme to be honest, it all just evolved slowly. I liked the look of something, boom let’s have it and so on. Mike choose his suit colour and details before anything else was figured out haha. Long story short, don’t stress about pleasing anyone, go with your gut and enjoy it! It will always be perfect regardless 📷EXTRA INFO:Our florist, Rose from @wildroselevin, most beautiful human I got to meet in my wedding planning journey. Super helpful, super calm and knows her shit! I gave her a general description of what I like and more what I don’t like and left her to it. Our bouquets were beautiful and the flowers on the tables were awesome. Very blessed to have had her. When I told her my idea for macrame flower wraps she was stoked and all in.Mike’s wedding band – authentic Lord of the Rings ring. Brought from Weta Workshop Wellington. Made by Jens Hanson Gold & Silversmith. We had a beautiful bespoke Lovelight, it was so much bigger than I was expecting and owned by a husband & wife team. @thelovelightnz It was stunning and featured heavily in photos from the day. Fiona was a treat to deal with and travelled along way (on her own) for us.Our flower wall was also something I had seen and really liked the look of @blushandconzagain awesome to deal with. All our vendors, we just clicked with, it made the whole planning experience so very much easier for me. They are after all the experts and didn’t take over or bully me, but made me feel very as ease and in control, I was very lucky..Love xxx Deb & Mike

1 📷. Check out this alternative Badass Grunge Wedding Couple…. who eloped and it was Oh So COOL……. ..HAPPY COUPLE: Vincent and Alexis JarusINSTAGRAM:Vincent: @yourcuhzvinny Alexis: @merced3zaWEDDING DATE: January 25, 2020WEDDING LOCATION: Spokane CourthouseHOW AND WHERE DID YOU MEET:We met at a two day metal show here in Spokane, which was at a venue called The Pin. First night he accidentally hit me on the head while in the pit, but we didn’t actually meet until the second day because I photobombed him and his best friend. Also it turned out that he lived in the same apartment complex as my friends and I would see his hand built motorcycle out front and always enjoyed looking at the handy work, only to find out when going over to his place that it was his bike! We truly believe we were meant to meet at some point in our lives.WEDDING STYLE:We did not want to stick with tradition, as it can be very costly and didn’t fit us at all. We are both spontaneous and enjoyed the thrill of eloping at a courthouse. He wore a band tee, slacks, a blazer and his vans while I wore a pink dress, floral leather jacket and vans. This alternative/grunge theme suited us best!THE WEDDING DAY:Just how we wanted it, very laid-back and went with the flow. We both got ready “together” at our place but did not reveal the final look until our party, and photographer Becca were there to capture the moments. We all met up at the Spokane courthouse and had a quick ceremony in front of our immediate family and closest friends. Afterwards we all met up downtown at a quiet and intimate Indian restaurant and proceeded to celebrate our marriage.WEDDING ATTIRE:This was why we eloped. The money to spend on a medium to large sized wedding was at our disposal, but we did not feel comfortable spending thousands on one day but rather use the funds for traveling abroad and getting ourselves well prepared to become homeowners. After courthouse fees and other expenses we still had a blast not even spending $500 for the whole elopement!HOW MANY PEOPLE ATTENDED: 20WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER: Becca @thepapertigerphotographyWEDDING FOOD: Our favorite Indian restaurant, Mango Tree.BUDGET SAVING IDEAS: Get eloped! If you both do not mind saving money and keeping things simple this would be a perfect way to save money for bigger and better things in the future!TIPS FOR FUTURE BADASS BRIDES: Stop stressing and enjoy yourself! Do what makes you and your spouse happy, not what your family will approve of… this is YOUR big day and you can make it however you want it. Love Vincent & Alexis xxx LOve . 📷

Heather & Matthew’s
Divine Colorado Wedding
Ahhh… 2020… Who knew that this year would be the year that facial masks would be our most popular accessory ?! Or, for that matter, who knew that so many brides and grooms would have to postpone or cancel their dream weddings—along with graduations being cancelled and proms rescheduled.
When it comes to weddings, does it really matter what or where, or who is there?! As long as you have each other, and as long as you have LOVE, that’s all that really matters.
My husband & I met online back in 2013 (let me interject—we did NOT meet on a dating website, haha). We “met” thru a shared love of fitness and health—he messaged me out of the blue for advice as he had followed my many popular blogs & posts regarding nutrition, health & fitness.
We slowly developed a friendship as I coached him in personal training. I eventually moved from Texas to Colorado in 2016, to be closer to my family, but I still wasn’t interested in dating anyone—so I kept him in the friend zone, despite his very persistent and aggressive advances.
We met on 3 separate occasions to hang out as friends, but things remained very platonic across the span of nearly 4 years. I eventually accepted an actual date with him, on the condition that he came up with something unique & out of the blue — and I (mean girl fashion) gave him a task to find my favorite beer for our date—which I knew he could never find in Colorado.
That date was the beginning of an amazing friendship, partnership, and eventually, he proposed me on February 2, 2019. We married in the courthouse in Pensacola Beach, FL on 3/25/19, with the plan to have our dream wedding in front of all our friends & family on 3/25/2020 at the Landshark/Margaritaville, Pensacola Beach.
Of course, COVID19 hit and shutdowns happened nationwide. We decided to elope to a secluded cabin up in the mountains just a few hours away from our house as a mini-get away, so he could finally see “the dress’ and we could recite our vows to each other.
It was just the 2 of us. It was his idea to pose with masks he’d acquired at the fire station and one of our favorite beers, Corona just to “mark the times we’re living in”. Cheers to all you beautiful, badass brides out there—remember it’s not the location or the people there—your day is just about the two of you! Be flexible and be-YOU-tiful 🥰
Love

Jessica and Adam’s Fairy Tale and a little bit Rock & Roll wedding
WEDDING COUPLE: Jessica and Adam
INSTAGRAM: @daydreamgypsyqueen
WEDDING DATE: February 1, 2020
WEDDING LOCATION: Indian Hills Country Club in Marietta, GA
HOW AND WHERE DID YOU MEET:
On December 3, 2011 in a land far, far away…ok, maybe not THAT far way. It was Florida. The land was Florida. That’s beside the point!
So…there were these 2 people mostly intent on not having a relationship, at all. They saw one another whilst attending a barbeque…for zombies. Eyes locked across the room and they ran in the other direction.
The night wore on and they eventually spoke because of mutual friends and all that jazz. They spoke a few times, planned a few things that didn’t work out, then eventually met up again on New Year’s Eve.
There were longing glances, an exchanged kiss (or several hours of them!), and they were all in from that very moment. These two folks were doomedto a forever of happily ever afters♡♡♡
THE WEDDING DAY:
The day of, was both very intense and very relaxed. For the most part, getting ready and to the club was easy. There was a lull whilst getting dressed and putting on makeup and we both had a couple of drinks.
Once the photographer arrived, things began to get moving. She took care of all the detail shots and the groom’s shots were taken first. The bridal shots were completed, and then it was time to walk down the aisle.
The ceremony started at 4pm and was held outdoors. It was a bit windy and cold, and had rained a little bit earlier in the day (but that’s said to be lucky!).
We didn’t have a large wedding (only 40 guests) and no bridesmaids or groomsmen. Adam’s nieces and nephews brought the rings down the aisle. I walked down the aisle to All For Love by Bryan Adam’s, Sting, and Rod Stewart.
The vows were even a little offbeat. He promised never to hinder my book addiction and I promised never to block video game consumption!
Millionaire by Chris Stapleton saw us off. We took photos while the guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. We entered the reception to Slaughter’s Spend Your Life. We spent the night dancing and enjoying the absurd buffet of sweets.
We cut the cake with an axe, whilst Pour Some Sugar played in the background. The food and drinks were perfect. The coordinator was amazing. Spending time with closest friends and family was the best. The wedding was perfect. I married my best friend. And at the end of the day, that’s all that matters.
BADASS WEDDING ATTIRE:
Dress: Melissa Sweet
Shoes: a gift from a best friend.
Necklace: a gift from the groom and a replica of The Even star from Lord of the Rings.
HOW MANY PEOPLE ATTENDED: 40
PHOTOGRAPHER:
Rachel at Mike Moon Studios
HAIR / MAKE UP:
My friend Victoria Nizzari (who is a hairstylist) wove the decorative wire into my hair and my mum helped get the veil in.
I did my own makeup.
DID YOU DO FOOD AND IF SO WHAT: We did a buffet style menu. We had 2 types of salad, 3 types of meats, various veggies, and a mashed potato bar! We also served 3 different types of Hors D’oeuvres during the cocktail hour and had an open premium bar..
WHAT DID THE BRIDESMAIDS/MEN WEAR:
The groom dug through his closet and found a lovely vintage jacket from Shrine of Hollywood, black jeans, a nice new black button up, a funky HexTie, and cowboy boots.
There was no bridal party. Grooms niece and nephew held rings for us.
ANY TIPS ON GUESTS, FAMILY:
You don’t actually need a seating chart. People are 100% capable of chairs for themselves!
Make sure you have someone to help coordinate and that this person is aware or any issues that could come up.
BUDGET SAVING IDEAS: Don’t discount dollar stores! Vases and votive holders can get expensive. I found mine at the dollar store, and definitely shop smart for flowers.
Shop smart and be flexible! The first thing you see might not have the best price & you may end up liking something else better in the end anyway. Oh! And read your contracts, keep copies, and don’t throw away reciepts!
WEDDING FAVOURS: We did a few different types of favors. 1/4 of our guests were kids so we had glow sticks, flower crowns, inflatable guitars, and coloring books for them. We also gave out keys that double as bottle openers for the adults.
TIPS FOR FUTURE BADASS BRIDES:
Take a moment to yourselves after the ceremony. 5-10 minutes helps.
And don’t forget to have fun!

Welcome to Melanie & Scot’s Dark Glamour Wedding
WEDDING COUPLE: Scot and Melanie Munro
INSTAGRAM: @cherryleelewis
WEDDING DATE: October 12 2019
WHERE DID YOU MEET: We met through friends in high school. We have been friends for over 15 years, but always dated other people. In 2017, the stars aligned and Scot asked me on our first “date” which I didn’t know was an actual date… the rest is history!
WEDDING STYLE: Dark Glamour
THE WEDDING DAY:
Our day was perfect. I have been in the events industry for over 10 years and did most of the planning myself. It had been a bit stressful leading up to the day (naturally) but when the day came, we were both so relaxed and prepared that even if there was a hiccup, we wouldn’t have been too bothered.
We decided we wanted to do a first look to keep things relaxed, and to take advantage of the time prior to the ceremony, to take photos with our bridal party. Our ceremony didn’t start till 5pm, so we didn’t want our guests waiting around while we did photos.
The ceremony went off perfectly – short and sweet. The bridal party walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of a Rancid song, and me to an instrumental Elvis song (we got engaged at Graceland!)
Between our ceremony and dinner, we had each guest join us on the stage for a photo (everyone really commented on how much they loved this, and it was perfect to print a 4×6 and add to their thank you cards)
We had a buffet dinner with speeches throughout. Following dinner, we had our first dance. An Elvis song played and when the chorus hit, our entertainment – an Elvis impersonator reveled himself and continued with the rest of our dance then into a full half hour set to get the party started!!
Elvis came back for another set and we rocked and rolled all night. He was a huge hit and we were so happy we kept this portion a surprise!
BADASS WEDDING ATTIRE 1 : Angela and Alison @angelaandalison from Tiffany World of Colour @tiffanysvancouverbridal
BADASS WEDDING ATTIRE 2 : Men’s Warehouse
PEOPLE ATTENDED: 80
PHOTOGRAPHER: Brittany Colman – Alder and Grey @alderandgrey
HAIR / MAKE UP: East Vanity Parlour – @eastvanityparlour Shimona Henry – @shimonahenry Kristi – @evp_bosslady
FOOD: Yes, we had a buffet from Austin Gourmet, the preferred caterer of the hall.
BRIDESMAIDS/MEN WEAR:
Bridesmaids – Dresses from JJ’s House Groomsmen – Moores
TIPS ON GUESTS: Try not to lose your mind too much over things like seating charts!
BUDGET SAVING IDEAS: My favorite budget saving tip is to check out prom dresses. I wanted something pretty specific (and very glittery) I wasn’t having any luck with traditional wedding dress shops so I tried a prom dress store. I found my perfect dress for $600. The staff at the store told me that so many dresses actually do come in white or ivory but usually don’t put them on the floor so you just have to ask!
WEDDING FAVOURS: We did custom matchbooks. They were inexpensive and felt very retro-cool (both of our parents had matchbooks at their weddings)
TIPS FOR FUTURE BADASS BRIDES: As stressful as it can get, try to enjoy the process. This is a huge exciting part of your life and you should enjoy it as much as possible! Everyone is also going to have an opinion on every aspect – who you should and shouldn’t invite, what you should serve at the bar, what the invitations should look like… Just remember this is a special day for you and your future groom and only you know what is best for the two of you!

The most inspiring Beach Boho weddingThat is the gorgeous couple:Barbara Mahony & Geoff Peake
The most inspiring Beach Boho wedding
WEDDING COUPLE: Barbara Mahony & Geoff Peake
INSTAGRAM: @Babs10110
WEDDING DATE: 20/09/19
WEDDING LOCATION: Elias beach hotel, Limassol, Cyprus
WHERE DID YOU MEET:We met while working abroad in Tenerife, Geoff is from England and I’m from Ireland and after moving in together quite quickly, we decided to move home to Ireland and see how it all went!
WEDDING STYLE: Boho/beach with a more casual style
THE WEDDING DAY:We both enjoyed every minute of our day! It’s true what people say, the day does go so quick!! We both knew we wanted to get married abroad in the sun and this was just perfect! I have seen photos of the pier and just knew that it would be perfect for our ceremony!
Considering we had never been to the location, or met any of our vendors in person until the day, it all went so well and ran very smoothly!!
We couldn’t of asked for anything more!.
BADASS WEDDING ATTIRE: When it came to picking a wedding dress I really struggled, it was the hardest part for me! I just wasn’t getting that feeling, I knew what I wanted, and struggled to find it! In the end I picked an Eddy K dress that was so light and comfortable for the 30 degree heat of Cyprus.
BADASS WEDDING ATTIRE: Geoff just wanted something light and relaxed, he got a white linen shirt and cream linen trousers that also suited the heat well. . HOW MANY PEOPLE ATTENDED: 35
PHOTOGRAPHER NAME AND INSTAGRAM NAME: Alexander butchart @alexanderbutchart
HAIR / MAKE UP STYLISTS: Alisha Owen @tipsandtoescyprus_alishaowen This part really worried me as I didn’t have a trial until I got there, but Alisha listened to everything I had to say and did it exactly as I wanted! She is a complete pro!.
DID YOU DO FOOD: We had canapes on the pier after the ceremony and for dinner we had a buffet style banquet with about 15 different options and about 10 options of desert after.
ANY TIPS ON GUESTS: We only asked people we spent time with, we didn’t ask any extra people, which meant we got to spend more time with all our loved ones.
BUDGET SAVING IDEAS: Shop around, don’t just pick the first person you see, as you will be amazed at the vast difference in prices you can be quoted for the same things.
ANY TIPS ON GIFT IDEAS: We didn’t ask for anything bar their attendance, as we know asking people to go abroad was a big enough ask of people. We’re so glad most were able to go.
TIPS FOR FUTURE BADASS BRIDES: Get a videographer!! A lot of people debate this and we did too, but I’m so glad we did! it’s defo worth it and so nice to bring back all the lovely memories & emotions of the day!
EXTRA INFO: Planning a wedding abroad can seem daunting, but it is actually a lot easier then you would think, just do your research and give yourself plenty of time to organize so it is stress free.
