Your Purchase (and the need) vs My well being
If you shop and the purchase you want to make (the need, item, etc) becomes more of an importance than the person who’s helping you find it, you become nothing to me. As a person that wants to help anyone and everyone, this happened today and it puts me over the edge. #badapples

Happy #youthday everybody. The youth of June 16 did something about the challenges they were faced with at that time. Our hero's and heroines have paved the way for us to do something about the things we don't "like" including inequality. Our youth today if faced with a lot of challenges. Let us do something about out future and that of our children. You have it all in you to be great (yes I am referring to you). I choose to continue with my grind even on a holiday. #vukauzenzele #thegrindisreal #grindneverstops #grindhardprayharder #wechosethislife

With my date Shaun Nyalungu. We are attending a seminar hosted by my good friend Systenious Makhubele and re-engineering our lives. The speakers were Hlulani Maluleke and Sanele Zulu. Hlulani's presentation was based on Systenious's book titled: Get out of your way - Greatness awaits. Sanele's presentation was on entrepreneurship. Systenious presentation was about the mindset and spirituality. Because sharing is caring, here are the powerful points of that things I gained. Once again, congratulations Systenious on the successful seminar. - The highest form of freedom a nation can ask for is the freedom of mind. - The greatest obstacle to human development is the mind. You have to change your thinking in order to change your life. - Until we change our how we think about the things we encounter we will remain caged. - Never undermine your capacity to write down your thoughts. - Life does not get better by chance, it gets better by choice. There is power in perseverance. - In order to be successful we must be willing to do the things others won't do in order to have what others don't have. - Learn to celebrate and wish success for others. #JealousyIsNasty - Life is a fight for territory, what you don't want will automatically take over when you stop fighting for the life you want. - It is better to be prepared for an opportunity and not have one than to have an opportunity and not be prepared. - We need people who will believe in our abilities. - Freedom, dignity, culture and education are the most important things we need to succeed. - It does not matter where you come from. You have the potential to achieve your dreams! - We can lock and unlock our potential through the language we speak to ourselves. - We need to free our mind so that what comes out of our tongues is not self-destructive. - The people we hang around can suppress or improve our growth. #mothersonmoments #grindhardprayhard #thegrindisreal #thegrindcontinues #wechosethislife #selfcare

Day 3 of the Summer School Dr Sephanie Milam gave us an interesting plenary lecture about comets this morning. A comet is a body consisting of frozen mass and it moves around the sun. Comets are made up of dust, ice and rocks. It was interesting to learn that comets have a short life span before the other material such as ice melts through the heat of the sun leaving behind the rock. The long period comet was on 30 Jan 2015 the comet for three days. There is also a "happy hour" comet. This comet earned this name after it left a trail of alcohol and sugar while moving around the sun. The abundance of alcohol was equivalent to the comet producing 500 bottles of wine per second. By the way, comets eventually form stars. The young academic enjoyed her lecture so much that she even asked for a photograph with the scientist. #UNISASummerSchool15 #WeLearnEveryday #YoungAcademic #WeChoseThisLife 📷❤😀 (at UNISA-Florida Park Campus)

Day 2 of the Summer School. Today was intense which I am not complaining. Anyway one had to pause, reflect and take a selfie afterwards 😜😝. We had a lecture on Energy and Water delivered by Mr Gerhard Gerick from Eskom. I enjoyed this lecture because Gerhard made the natural science concepts more easier for people like me who are not in nature sciences. He highlighted about the water usage used to generate electricity as well as the other initiatives Eskom is working on to purify water (as way of saving energy and not using too much energy). Thereafter we had a another lecture on masculinity delivered by Dr Chris Haywood. He is so passionate about gender studies and I was moved by his talk. What stood out for me about his lecture is when he highlighted that we need to contextualize masculinity in order to understand what it is. I completely agree with his statement because the masculinity in South Africa will or may be different from how it that of Bangladesh. We then had a lecture in social power and morality delivered by Prof Sven Waldzus. I must say that this lecture got me thinking. The highlight of this lecture was learning how all cultural groups have four common structures. However the difference with these structutes is in how we are socialised. For an example, all cultural groups believe in the notion than children should respect their parents. It's only that in the African culture respect is shown to parents by not looking then in the eyes when talking to them whereas other ethnic groups portray respect differently. I think I have said a mouthful 😉. Enjoy the rest of your evening 😘. #UNISASummerSchool15 #power #wechosethislife #thegrindcontinues #youngacademic
