IT’S FEEDING TUBE WEEK ⠀ ⠀ This is Anna, the youngest daughter of our founders, and she has a feeding tube. It may not always be visible, but this little device is critical for the nourishment of so many little cuties like her. In fact, 40% of tube fed people in America are children. ⠀ ⠀ It can be uncomfortable at times. Sometimes the site is itchy and irritated. It can get snagged and pulled. It rarely gets infected but if it does, it generally heals quickly with a simple cream. Most mornings she wakes up, comes downstairs and snuggles with me, drinks a cup of milk and watches Puppy Dog Pals. This day she came down, looked at me and just said, “No!” and dramatically threw her limp body onto the couch and slumped onto the ground like this. Ten min later she was asleep again right where she lay. Some days are different. Kids with delays and kids from trauma sometimes hit a foggy funk and just need you to float with them through it.
