Shadow of a Deity (A LU/FoT crossover)

Chapter 1: A Portal Awry

Link had a mask that was a deity. In one universe, that deity became a father. In another, he didn't. What happens when those two realities collide?

The portal was askew as the nine heroes named Link tumbled out of it. 

The journey had not been a good one. Something had gone wrong.  Instead of walking calmly between one time and the next, they had fallen into this new one.  All the other trips had been a seamless journey, instantaneous from one place to another.  This had taken too long, with a pressure that squeezed and pulled at them, like their destination was somewhere they didn't belong. Instead of an open door, the portal was a crack in a wall they had to force their way through.  When they finally found fresh air, they stumbled, fell and nearly lost the contents of their stomachs as they sprawled under the great, spreading branches of many trees in a deep, dark woods. 

"Where are we? When are we?" Legend climbed shakily to his feet, sharp eyes taking in every detail.  There were so many dark forests in Hyrule over many years that they could be anywhen at all.  He spun at the sound and feel of collapsing magic and watched as the portal fizzled away into nothing.  "Well, there's that. We're trapped here."

Was thinking more about my monster au and if it would have substance or just be " the dads are monsters" and I realized it would be funny if they were monsters from the forgotten realms and got sucked into the normal world to find their sons. Their sons haven't fully hit " monster puberty" or some dumb shit yet so they blend in easier and the dads have to find them in mundane and safe places where they stick out.

Also it would be funny to find out that Henry wasn't always a Harpy but got adopted by harpies as a baby and he kinda. Got magicked into one. Even funnier if Jodie is a demon upon showing up but finds out he's human and has a magical girl transformation to be normal,,,

Also I'm still not over Selkie Ron like Lark cooked so hard with that. My little seal fella,,,, he winds up in an aquarium and had to pretend to be so incredibly normal but ends up stealing a herring bucket.

Baron Omatsuri is technically before Water 7, obviously. So now I can't stop thinking about Luffy's burden of carrying everything that happened while going through Water 7/Enies Lobby. Because, unlike what happened in the movie, in Water 7 it's not somebody taking his crewmates away from him, but themselves choosing to leave him. That's an even worse nightmare.

Sokka should've never let Zuko talk him into this. But with the ten year anniversary of the end of the war coming up, with their plans to fix the world failing, with the rise in Ozai sympathizers, they really didn't have a choice. Of course, they turn to time travel to fix things And of course, the ritual goes terribly wrong. Now, it's up to Sokka to make sure they win the war, again. Only this time, they'll win it better.

TBH I'm only reading the manga to see how it ends. BNHA dropped off a long time ago. I'm going to finish my fic though because I gotta, dawg.

oh yeah, i'm like VAGUELY on what's going on, i would like to know the ending but man, the moment it focused too much on the todorokis and bakugou and shoving izuku more and more out of the spotlight while being on a huge war and no longer the school aspect of it, like huh! i don't... care anymore......

actually on the topic of old drawings; the first-ever drawings I did of Rich, Liam, and Sol turned up on my deep-dive of old discord messages and I was compelled to redraw/compare!

Rich very much predates the worldbuilding of the Michigan Fleet universe, as one of Key/rollerskatinglizard's oldest OCs, and was originally just a normal amount of un-tweaked big and buff dude, although I also sucked at drawing people with body mass back when I drew these lol. It does make me laugh that the huge crooked nose and sad, downturned eyes have been a constant from sketch one!

Liam predates the Michigan Fleet as well and was originally mine! He..... hasn't changed much actually haha. Although his size/prettiness/temper being a genetic modification is new, from the first lengthy discussion of mods where fourhands and hastings both got established (although not by those names). It looks like I coined the mod name "Babydoll", which I do NOT remember doing.

Sol was the most Group Effort of these three, looking back at the messages: Key invented a salty little gorgeous asshole with modded hearing for a snatch of interaction in a wildly different context than his new introduction; roach was the one who suggested the elf ears and iridescent hair to go along with it, I was the one who suggested he was from New York and threw several large pinches of "a big tsundere about Rich" into the mix, and a lot of the much later patrician worldbuilding was roach.
