Reminder: even if trump wins, we’ll be ok. God that new update for tgs I need to just rant about so if you haven’t read it yet spoilers are under the cut! Pictures at the end!

Ok ok, so it’s hard to put my thoughts in the words but I had to get them out somewhere and I usually do that on tumblr,

Ok first the dehumanizing of Hyde? Like yeah he and Jekyll share a body but that dosent mean Hyde isn’t human, he has is own personality, his own opinions, he isn’t just like some creature that you can dehumanize because Hyde has feelings (he’s my little anxious boy🫶)

Just the whole Frankenstein outing Hyde (and therefore Jekyll) thing is just fucking insane and made me kind of mad. I mean it gives the same vibes as publicity outing someone as gay, not to mention that Jekyll also finally trusted his childhood idol and poured his heart out to her just for her to tell everyone. I mean I get that she’s excited but it makes sense why she said scientists loses friends to become a true mad scientist because it’s like she dosent think when she’s excited about something, she’s blinded in a way.

Like this is something Jekyll needed to tell Lanyon himself! The two are dating now (I think at least) it’s better that Lanyon gets told in a slow and considerate way, not just being told by someone else in front of everyone.

But that’s also what makes this scene so great and impactful, it’s so high stakes and it makes you feel on the edge of your seat to know what happens next week which is how almost all the chapters feel, The glass scientists is just so well written!

With that said though I still like Frankenstein, I think she is a flawed character and that’s what makes her great. She’s not perfect, she’s not this perfect role model Jekyll thought her out to be and the story telling in that fact alone is beautiful. (BUT IF SHES THE REASON LANYON DIES OH MY GOD FRANKENSTEIN!)

session was fine (/lh) highlights for me were gem's power being one of the coolest feeding the "associated with the watchers" allegations and her almost succesful escape of a practically impossible trap (yes im gonna ignore pearl's comment about gem's eye, i want to smash pearl with a hammer after that). and also gem is so obsessed with pearl it’s maddening, sadly pearl is the most oblivious player on the server 💔

so now lets focus instead on the potential of superhero!gem whose body practically dies when she projects her soul and superhero!pearl who excessively worries and protects her in that state while fearing one day gem won't come back to her body :D

we got a session with relatively normal gempearl moments!!! (well. as normal as they can be. anyway)

glad that watcher lore enjoyers are getting fed with watcher-leaning Gem and listener Martyn, i dont go here often but god thats some good material

the wild card this session is honestly very fun!!! mostly banger episodes, i would’ve taken a whole season of just this gimmick ngl but i also see why it’s only for a single session (currently watching Martyn’s ep and god it’s amazing if you ever were/currently are a bnha fan), also Gem trying to get joint custody of the zombies is. peak. gemrot enjoyers get your food

THE PEARL COMMENT…girl…she’s trying so hard to justify failing that trivia bot question it’s just funny. sorry to all the fic writers who have to find a way to justify Pearl not noticing/remembering the eye of ender situation. somehow simultaneously down bad and horrible at remembering what Gem’s done

like i said, the superhero AU stocks are skyrocketing… i dont do superhero AUs that much but if i were to spitball one rn it would be interesting to explore both superheroes Gem and Pearl, who aren’t on the same team/agency but know of each other and have this ongoing rivalry, where their powers are both useful in intel gathering (Gem by projecting and Pearl by flying nearby and listening in on conversations, though Gem’s probably better at it), but they’re also fighting villains on the field, and Pearl’s ability gives her an advantage in combat, while Gem makes up for it with her on duelling expertise

and yeah. maybe sometimes Pearl would fly by and spot Gem using her powers by herself. and maybe Pearl would hover around the area just to make sure nothing happens to her while she’s out of it… she doesn’t really know how Gem’s powers work in its entirety, but better safe than sorry, right?

(one time Gem finds out that Pearl is watching over her body while she’s astral projecting, and she decides to scare the ever living hell out of Pearl by suddenly jumping back into her body with no warning— Pearl nearly falls off a building with how much of a spook that gave her and Gem has never let that go since)

Ok it’s not letting me like officially tag her but @camel-kong’s tags gave me the inch I needed to bitch about the au episode. Ppl talking about who died or what impacted it or what the real change was are blowing me bc the REAL au has to be that it’s a world where the council would care about a dead kid from zaun. I was talking to my brother about this and for the changes to be so significant the real alternate universe had to be that the explosion blew up the entire block and everyone in it and maybe a councilor was visiting that day if we’re stretching - bc ur telling me they stopped the production of hextech over jayce? Over VI! Like yes they weren’t aware of its true potential or whatever but even a weapon of that magnitude means more than one dead kid especially a dead kid from the UNDERCITY!! The au just doesn’t work for me bc it affords the council and piltover in general a benefit of the doubt that they not only haven’t earned - but have proven time and time again they don’t fucking deserve. Like it’s the equivalent of saying if politicians knew how bad poor poc felt they’d stop- like hello?
