I may have written this out before, but I think the best case scenario if Harmon and Co. want to continue Rick and Morty indefinitely is to bring an end to Rick C-137 and Morty Prime's story in the next season or two and shift to following a Rick and Morty from another dimension.

This would a.) Give a satisfying conclusion to C-137's story (and a place people can jump off at if they choose) b.) Make sense in this world that the show has established and c.) Open up some storytelling dimensions that are currently off limits and allow for a sort of reboot.

I agree!! *an incoherent rant incoming* Jean imo def moved on from Kevin (in a romantic way; i think he’s not moved on from the whole ‘Kevin left me’ thing ofc but I think he obviously knows and accepts that he and Kevin won’t ever happen lol). And that scene with Renee was obviously a closure/farewell and they’ve moved on to being friends now (also imo while i like their dynamic i feel like they’d never work bc of the whole victim saviour complex, that’d be really uncomfortable and hard to overcome). Jeremy seems like he’s able to handle Jean’s crazy baggage without placating him too much or pushing him too hard. He definitely needs to work on his own shit first (i feel like the way he went all in on helping Jean is kind of giving ‘I am avoiding my problems by getting too involved in others’ problems’) but I think Jean will be the perfect person to help him with that! As you said he’s super perceptive and honestly very empathetic even if he doesn’t show it in the most obvious way. Jeremy would probably really appreciate Jean’s brutally honest approach lol. They’re lowkey perfect for each other ☹️ TSC2 can’t come soon enough

hardcore agree on every single point you made!! i feel exactly the same about Jean and Renee, as much as their dynamic is sweet, i think it would be really difficult to overcome Jean feeling indebted to her (whereas Jean and Jeremy are both growing together) + ya i think Jean has very complicated feelings toward Kevin but i don’t think he’s actively yearning over Kevin anymore

and exactlyy i definitely imagine Jean quietly picking up on whatever Jeremy’s going through and expressing concern only for Jeremy to try and pull a “my problems aren’t that bad and therefore don’t matter” which i don’t see Jean accepting. especially since Jean has an ‘older brother who cares more about other people’s well-being more than his own well-being’ vibe (underneath his slightly prickly attitude lol) i think Jeremy and Jean are really good for each other, Kevin subconsciously knew what he was doing by having Jean transfer to USC 🤨

I miss the mutual I had whose entire blog was them LARPing as Jeffrey Dahmer and wrote in the first person and there was an entire lore behind it all, apparently their version of Dahmer (they actually kept insisting they WERE Dahmer and were 100 percent serious) was alive and dating another IRL serial killer whose name I forgot but also apparently had a tumblr blog in the exact same LARP style that they would regularly interact with (who I am fairly certain was ran by the same person). They kept getting termed for obvious reasons but they would always follow me back when I was celibatepride. Then one day they never remade. I miss them a lot :( Come back...

tragic romance is exactly where I was going with it!!!! I was honestly imagining a murder-suicide situation, and it could actually go either way on who is doing the killing tbh 💀 regardless, I don't think either of them could deal with the agony of having just murdered their most beloved family. plus it is just kind of narratively fitting. neither of them were made for this world where they have to kill just to live. neither of their hearts were really made to bear the weight of murder. they are, in haruma's words, birds of a feather. I think they come to an understanding that if one can't survive, then neither can the other, and this is why the reader finds it so hard to leave kei. I think it is also why it would be very difficult for her to watch kei create the kind of world that they would have hated as children. killing him is a depressing resolution, but in a way, it's a form of escape for them both.

With one solid swing against the doorframe, the chair was smashed to pieces, leaving the legs scattered across the ground.

"We're not gonna let Emily face that bloodsucker all by herself," he said, pulling out his pocket knife as he picked up one of the legs, moving quickly to begin carving the end into a point. "But if we're gonna do this, we're gonna play it smart. We're gonna take that vamp by surprise, and with any luck, we'll give Emily a fighting chance to give her attacker a little payback."

Picking up quickly on his meaning, June and Randall moved to pick up the other legs.
