The soft glow of fairy lights hung across the room, casting gentle shadows on the walls. You were sitting cross-legged on the floor, a mountain of colorful wrapping paper and ribbons scattered around you. Beside you, Aventurine worked with the same calculated precision he applied to everything else—carefully wrapping a gift with smooth, expert folds, his expression calm yet focused.

“Do you think this paper is too much?” Aventurine’s voice broke through the ambient sounds of the room. His eyes flicked over to you, his gaze light and playful despite the intricate task before him.

You paused, looking up at him, taking in the way his golden-ringed hands meticulously smoothed the paper. He looked every bit the elegant risk-taker he was, even in something as simple as wrapping presents.

“No,” you said with a grin. “It’s perfect. Though I think the real gift is sitting right here.”

"There," you said, securing the bow firmly. "Now you’re the best present I could ever ask for."

Aventurine blinked, his fingers pausing mid-air, as though processing the surprise. His gaze flickered between the bow and your eyes, a moment of soft vulnerability crossing his features. Then, he laughed—a low, rich sound that filled the room with warmth.

I feel like Jer often handles daycare pickup but I feel like this particular day they just both had a terrible day and were in a slight "just mama" mood so they started crying because they wanted us so bad after their bad day and Jer showed up instead even though he's the one that always handles daycare

We're like "mama hates seeing her boys so sad so I thought why not give you bubs something super duper special tonight!" and we give them brownies and a rootbeer float probably too and have some fudge/chocolate sauce to put on the brownies and the boys eyes light up like it's christmas

I feel like Aus would savor and make sure to eat every single crumb while E eats a bit fast at first and we're like "aht, careful mister! This one is yours okay but if you finish yours first, don't you reach over and try to take your bubbas okay? This is all your getting of your treat okay?" And E nods super seriously and makes sure to slow down and be more careful. He looooves chocolate sauce after that and asks you to put it on EVERYTHING And loves when you give him chocolate milk bottles

(i count them as one because of how much i love them and also to be able to count another album in my top). dear reader and yoyok are also some of my faves off midnights!! i must confess it took some time for the album to grow on me (in contrast to folklore, which was love at first sight and listen) but i agree on it being very raw and honest. on that note, seeing taylor grow and mature, not just as a person but as a musician and lyricist, is a very special thing to witness; and watching her most recent work, such as midnights, portraying and embodying that growth (which many of us have had too along the years), is just something that makes me very touched.

I eat coriander salad every day to deal with the lingering summer heat. I love coriander, this time of the year, large junks are sold at various greengrocers near me 🙄 I used to see them often around spring but then they suddenly disappeared during the extremely hot summer months. Now they are finally back and I've been seeing them more and more often recently (I wonder if it a coincidence). For my salad, I lightly toss coriander and sliced ​​onions in sesame oil, add some white sesame seeds, a bit of salt, sugar and vinegar.

Today, I'll be posting a lot of photos from my Billboard Live OSAKA on September 1st and Billboard Live YOKOHAMA on September 9th! First of all, let’s start with some pictures from Osaka! Here we are after the 1st stage is over. We are ready to go again. And here we are with a big smile on our faces after the 2nd stage. At that point I was super hungry from singing so much Both Takebe-san and Fukuhara-san told me that I was in high spirits from beginning to end. I think it’s because both the 1st and 2nd stage were were filled with so much warmth and passion, I had a total blast!  Now here is a picture of the three of us after the 1st stage in Yokohama. All of those trio shots were taken right after we had come off the stage so everyone’s face still looked quite heated. (ﾟ∀ﾟ) And another picture after the 2nd stage! Taken just 10 seconds after the official end of all 4 performances in Osaka and Yokohama! ! Then we have some rehearsal pictures. I really like the fancy lights! ! Everyone is taking a bow＼(^o^)／Thank you for the warm applause!!

This time, we unveiled a brand new song to everyone, it’s one out of a few songs I am currently working on. It's called "標(しるし= Shiroshi = Sign/Mark/Symbol)". This song was written by singer-songwriter Yoshiko Hanzaki. When we were discussing the song, I burst into tears and poured out my heart to her. Hanzaki-san listened patiently to me while I was shedding tears. We talked about a very special and precious topic, family. My father passed away in the spring of 2020. Back then I felt an unbelievable sense of loss and unbearable grief, I honestly thought the day would never come when I would be able to laugh again. I was only able to motivate myself because you have always been there for me and provided support. Even though I was sad, I knew I would be able to overcome that sadness one day. I wanted to put all of those feelings in a song and convey them to you. At that time my love and appreciation for music increased considerably. The reason I can smile like this now is because all of you have been there for me. Also, from wherever my father is watching, I just want him to see me happy. Even now, whenever I'm singing I hope it transcends time and space to reach him. "Shiroshi" is a song that probably couldn’t have happened without the strength everyone has given me, it’s a song about my feelings for my father. Now, I would like to show you a few close-ups of my outfits~♪ This is the white dress I wore for the 1st stage! The floral pattern is subtle, nothing too crazy, just the perfect amount of pretty. I think it’s honestly so cute🥺💕I also like the sheer, puffy sleeves. That’s probably my absolute favourite part about the dress! Next we have my dress for the 2nd stage! I chose it because the vivid colours appealed to me😆 There is a lot of attention to detail in the design, which is something I really appreciate. For example, I really like the shoulders and the difference in texture between at the waist and wrist section! 😍

OKAY DUDE YOU GOT IT

so the episodes are a little wonky on netflix because the christmas specials are just wedged in at the beginning or ends of seasons, (or both for season 5), so it’s not consistent in citing. i’m going to use the actual episode titles (episode 1, episode 2, etc) and not the netflix coordinates.

also i ended up having 12 faves, and bonus christmas specials. and if you factor in that two christmas specials are two-parters, we actually have like. 16 episodes here. but hey, we did it gang. also these aren’t listed in order of most to least favorite, because i have no idea which is most. this is just chronologically ordered. anyway enjoy.

1. season 1, episode 1

it’s just a really solid pilot. it’s intense and absolutely throws you in the deep end, which i appreciate. it introduces each character really nicely, from jenny’s walk through the east end, to sister evangelina and sister monica joan bickering about the missing cake from the cake tin, to fred asking the girls about his new scheme enterprises. they even introduce dr. turner as a very plucky and young (younger, anyway) doctor that doesn’t have much status yet, so you even get to watch him mature into the senior physician - STAPLE in the community - he becomes. i also just like season one as a whole, no specific other episodes but these early season are just nice. so jot that down.

2. season 2, episode 4

i just like this episode probably because the kids are the same age differences as my oc kiddos so it’s just. nice for me personally <3 but also it’s a sweet ep !!!! the baby boy is born with spina bifida which i don’t know ALL the details but it’s a problem when his spine that renders his legs useless. but his mother struggles to accept his disability and it causes a rift in the family and jenny tries to keep them together. and eventually the mother does come around when she realizes she doesn’t wanna lose her son (meaning, they briefly consider sending him to a Home for “invalids.”) but she just can’t do it!! at the end she picks up her baby and she’s like “he’s MY baby boy >_>” and holds him so close and it’s very sweet. the daughters aren’t in it much because obviously it’s centered around the mom and baby but 🤌 love it

3. season 2, episode 8

gosh, an emotional episode!! chummy has a difficult birth that puts her in the hospital and there’s this long scene of everyone at nonnotus house just. Waiting. they’re knitting this blanket to pass the time and you can feel the stress. but also patrick and shelagh have their MOMENT!!!! on the road!!!!! sjdksjdksj!!!!!!!! AND shelagh then officially renounces her vows to the order and when she hugs sister julienne i always cry a little. everything is okay with chummy, too, but it’s just. SUCH an episode.

4. season 3, episode 8

also quite an episode. the finales honestly hit 🤌 (opposite of friends where i literally don’t care about any of the finales haha) chummy’s mother is dying and jenny’s back from the mother house but she has her last patient that isn’t even successful but then she happens to meet her future husband BUT THEN ALSO PATRICK AND SHELAGH ADOPT LITTLE ANGELA🥺🥺🥺 a very solid rollercoaster as well.

5. season 4, episode 2

it’s like barbara’s first delivery and it’s so AH. the couple is very very cute and they love dancing and call the baby she’s pregnant with their lil dancer (which is VERY adellecore) and it’s nice but then it’s AAAAHH because they didn’t realize they were having twins (remember when sonograms didn’t exist so you just. would maybe have twins. classic. but also even in this show (mid-50s to mid-60s) they can diagnose twins later into the pregnancy if they hear two heartbeats with the pinard. but that just doesn’t always happen. but i digress.) so the first baby was a girl born stillborn and so barbara’s very shaken by it. and this couple thinks they’ve lost their baby. but then the next baby comes and it’s a boy and it’s so bittersweet because they were only expecting one baby and there they got one but they KNOW they lost the other :( also it’s phyllis’s first episode and she’s funny in the beginning because she didn’t expect to stay and she’s very Ship-Shape Upright Tidy about everything but in ONE episode everyone melts her heart a little and she decides to stay. and at the end barbara is like :D so you’re staying?? and phyllis is like >:( we’ll see. *stays forever, has not left the show yet* sjdks love her.

6. season 5, episode 5

okay honestly all of season 5 is just really solid. like i was looking through the episodes and i liked pretty much all of them. so i’m picking 5x05 just because the story is interesting - a woman who was a prostitute and is now married to a much older man (who is very rich) and they’re expecting a child but she just doesn’t feel like she’s worthy of this “perfect” life with wealth and a husband and baby. and her finding her own worth and learning to love her lil baby is sweet!!

7. season 5, christmas special 2016 pt. 1 & 2

it’s the christmas special where they go to south africa! it’s the first time (of the two times, lmao) that they’re not in poplar so it’s just a fun change of pace. all the little stories are interesting and some pretty intense. it’s a compelling and wholesome time. and tom and barbara get engaged!! precious. we love them.

8. season 6, episode 2

first episode we meet my beloved valerie!!!!!!!!! automatically perfect!!!!!!! it’s not her first episode as a midwife, which i ironically don’t like (not because of her of course, but the story is just. stupid imo. it’s that one i ranted to you about haha, anyway) but it’s her first appearance! and the story is honestly quite good. on the same day a couple’s son is born, the father is at work and there’s a factory explosion. he survives but he’s blinded. and he struggles with his blindness and he doesn’t want to meet his son because he can’t see him and he hardly even wants to talk to his wife. and it’s just very heartbreaking. and she says a line that i probably love because of my beauty and the beast brain, but when he’s fighting her, she says “don’t you know me? i love the bones of you, george.” I LOVE THE BONES OF YOU??? it’s one of the few lines i think about often. what a line. i love the bones of you. anyway valerie helps with the explosion because she was working in the pub down the street but was a nurse in the army. great ep <3

9. season 6, episode 6

this one is so good. it’s like valerie’s first, if not one of her first, deliveries. but it’s complicated because the mother is somali and a certain cultural practice makes the delivery complicated. i dont need to go into details but it’s just interesting. and valerie learns some humility because after all this, she keeps calling her mrs. farrah, and eventually she explains that in her culture they don’t take their husband’s last name. and she carries on to tell valerie off, about her name, her culture’s practice, and it’s just like an intense learning moment for val. and on top of all of this, england is under the impression that nuclear war is about to break out (i really don’t know my 1960s history that well but i’m assuming it’s cold war related) so they all sort of think this is their last day on earth because they’ll get bombed. there’s just a compilation of them huddling together with their loved ones. the nuns praying together, barbara and tom snuggled in a bench, fred and violet slow dancing in their living room 🥺, phyllis just ironing her uniform like it was any other day… just very.. like damn. what would you do if you knew that was your last night on earth. anyway all around really cool episode.

10. season 7, episode 5

this episode. there is something with it. something’s up!!!! okay i’ll explain. when i first started call the midwife in 2020, i was just watching it every friday night. it was like my lil end of school week treat. and when that school year was done in 2021, i just stopped watching. idk, got bored. and it was halfway through THIS episode that i had left off. idk why i never finished the episode, but that’s where i was left. and since then, i have watched this show a hundred more times. but i swear something always happens during this episode. i have gotten sleepy and been like “mm maybe i should pause and go to bed…” and i look and it’s THIS EPISODE. also when my parents visited, my mom wanted to see this show i’m always talking about, and I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS EPISODE. like ?????? what is it man. i don’t know. it is not even that special. it’s GOOD it’s NICE but like. HELLO? anyway i have to list it or the cosmic call the midwife gods might smite me. it is a good episode though, a great lucille episode! (also lucille is here now!! love her too)

11. season 7, episode 6

okay this is actually a cool episode. it’s very tragic and like ?? it’s very sad. BUT it’s cool. this family comes from ireland and they have two kiddos and the mom is pregnant. just after moving in, like literally THAT DAY, the husband gets in a car accident and dies. LIKE ITS SO SAD. and they were gonna run a little corner shop and live in the apartment above it and it’s just like. now this gal, who has two kiddos and another on the way, they’re not even FROM here, has to just. figure shit out. and fred, who is a widower himself, tries to reach out but she just wants to do everything herself. anyway there’s also a really cute scene of barbara and phyllis walking home arm in arm from seeing a movie or a play together. it’s literally SO cute they’re best friends. but then they walk down the street that that woman’s shop is on and there’s a FIRE !!!!!!!!!! so phyllis and barbara are a couple of heroes and go into the burning building and save the family. the place of course is destroyed but the community bands together (led by fred) to help rebuild the shop. meanwhile the woman gives birth and PLOT TWIST has twins!!!! AAAHH. good episode. and don’t even worry about barbara getting sick at the end of it and dying in the next episode what i can’t hear you hahahahaha anyway

12. season 9, episode 5

aaahhh i love this one actually! one of the plots is about this fussy, worrisome expectant father and finding out that he lost his own father when he was five and was raised by a terribly abusive step-father. thus explaining why he’s so worried about getting things right for his own newborn son. (oh the adam of it all😭). the other plot involves the fact that the sound of music JUST came out. and everyone is like !!!! excited about it. which is valid because that film slaps. but anyway, sister monica joan (our beloved eccentric well-over eighty-year-old) is trying to win this raffle of two free tickets to the movie. eventually, however, patrick & shelagh’s daughters win the tickets and their older brother is like “oh PERFECT” and they give the tickets to their parents so they can have a date night :”) and it’s funny because after they see the movie they’re like “wow super relatable” because shelagh was also a nun who gave it up for love sjdkj. beloveds. AND also another interesting plot here is: sister julienne faces hate for being a nun and like, not really knowing what poverty & supporting a family is like. so she does something very wild and disrobes and takes off her habit and dresses in normal clothes and goes out in public. just to experience not being a nun for an hour. (and, she’s been a nun for probably thirty years.) so it’s like WHOA. and she also sneaks in to see the sound of music haha. anyway just lots of intrigue and cool vibes!!

BONUS: the 2019 AND 2020 christmas specials!! (at end of season 9)

in the two-part 2019 christmas special they go to scotland, the outer hebrides, and it’s very cool because 1. change of location and 2. cool stories!! it’s like the south africa episodes, it’s just fun and intriguing and cool that they’re somewhere new.

and the 2020 christmas special is fun because the circus comes into town and phyillis lives out a dream of hers (another little moment i always smile wide at) and a woman who struggled for years to hold onto a pregnancy (that you meet a few seasons before when shelagh is struggling with her own pregnancy) has finally carried a baby to term and shelagh helps with the delivery and it’s just really emotional and beautiful. also there’s a part on the circus side of the ep when a fire breaks out and reggie (fred’s nephew who he kind of ‘adopts’ when his mother dies. he’s like 20 something but has down’s syndrome so it’s just better for him to live with fred and violet) anyway reggie went with two of the circus kids to look at the donkeys when the fire breaks so fred is panicking looking for reggie and the mom of the two boys is also panicking looking for her sons and it’s so intense and the emotion builds and it always makes me choke up a little cuz i just. i feel how worried fred is oh my gosh!!!! anyway at the last moment you see reggie holding either boy by the hand and walking out of the firey area together. all well and safe. but gosh the way this show gets me tearing up at the same parts every time. impeccable.

anyway that’s all i have. what a show! i haven’t seen seasons 10 and 11 enough times to have gotten attached to any episode yet, but they’re good too !!

Doctor Who status report! and from a couple other shows too because we are both head over heels in love with David Tennant and are watching all his body of work lmao

Alright so we finished DW S5 and are two episodes into S6 and I'll say 11th has grown on me a lot since my last report! Matt is so cute! we enjoyed the episode "The Lodger" it had some of that feeling I was missing from the previous seasons I think, and the two final episodes of S5 were cool!! And S6 started strong with the first two-parter, we are...so confused but in a good way? It's different and the writing quality wobbles but we are enjoying it very much nonetheless! I do feel like some of the values and handling of certain topics has been inconsistent since the writer swap so it feels a bit strange sometimes but it's still early so we'll wait and see! OH and the christmas special was so lovely!!

Then we also watched "Casanova" BBC 2005 miniseries for David and IT WAS SO GOOD honestly we were not expecting much and we both ended up crying lmao, it's also so funny!!

And we also watched "Around the World in 80 days" 2021!! It may not be very loyal to the book but it's great on it's own and so adorable and fun and SO BEAUTIFUL!! the locations, the costumes!! David's Phileas Fogg is the most loveable pathetic wet cat of a man just the absolute babygirlest I've seen him, this show was made for me I swear to god I was clutching my knees the whole season, please watch it!! I think it's getting a second season inspired by Twenty thousand leagues under the seas? I hope it does 🥺

Oh and belated Happy Halloween!! I didn't manage to draw anything for it this year but we did dress up as Edwardian vampires and went out! I think half of Madrid asked to take a picture with us and yet I didn't take any good ones askjfh but it was so fun, everyone was so nice to us 😭 The weather also got very cold and rainy all of a sudden and we are elated!! it's wool coat, gloves, hats and boots season again, I'm at my most powerful!!

Anyway I go back to drawing for now, hopefully I will be able to squeeze in some fanart and photos soon 😊

Ok here we go, Bones Season 3 and 4 review (warning: long post, sorry)

Overall: the season 3 finale SUCKED, can't believe Angela and Hodgins broke up :(( , the Booth/Bones (ship name?) teasing is KILLING ME I need them to get together like yesterday

Season 3! I will be honest, I don't remember my overall feelings of Season 3, I watched it a while ago and it took me some time to get through it. I did enjoy it in general but I didn't like the Gormogon story (for many reasons, specifically the episode, but we'll get to that later), mainly because the story was just too confusing. There was too much lore/backstory and I just couldn't follow it and of course the ending was just naff and disappointing.

On a more positive side, I LOVE Sweets he's so adorable I think he's going to be one of my favourites.

Favourite episodes:

- The Boy in the Time Capsule

- The Santa in the Slush: I loved Bones making Christmas special for her dad and Booth and Parker bringing a tree was so cute

- The Baby in the Bough: Oh the what ifs!!! Seeing Bones and Booth with a baby was adorable! The imagination was running wild 🥺

- The Verdict in the Story

- The Wannabe in the Weeds: the last 60 seconds of this episode was STRESSFUL! (I wish I had a heart monitor or something but my pulse was RACING)

- The Pain in the Heart: oh yes, the episode.... I have... feelings. The first scene was confusing as hell, I didn't understand the point behind Booth faking his death, I feel like they could have built that up more over the season. The rest of the episode was an emotional rollercoaster, it was exciting in a way of everyone becoming a suspect at one point or another but, it was STRESSFUL when Zack BLEW HIS HANDS UP and the ending... I hated it! It didn't make any sense and there was NOTHING suggesting that Zack was Gormogons assistant and I miss him :((

Season 4!

Another good season! I have come to the conclusion that the writers aren't so good at writing season-long plots, there was a couple of plots in this season that didn't really fall right? Or just felt a bit anticlimactic idk.

ANGLEA AND HODGINS! WHY DID THEY BREAK THEM UP! I hope they get back together 🥺

But! I did like the rotation of all the new interns, I think my favourites are Wendall and Vincent (I don't like Colin 😅). Daisy annoyed me so much in her first episode BUT I love her and Sweets together and my friend reassures me that she'll grow on me so well see.

Episode Highlights (or low-lights maybe?):

The Perfect Pieces in the Purple Pond: Zack 🥺 I loved seeing him in this episode and I loved that he snuck out to help them solve the case.

The Passenger in the Oven: This one was so good! I loved Booth trying to seek into first class and the rush at the end trying to get the warrant before they landed was so exciting.

Fire in the Ice: This episode was weird? I don't quite understand why Booth was number 1 suspect just because they had a fight. I don't know, it just felt excessive.

Hero on the Hold: I was so excited when I read the description of this episode, Booth being kidnapped by the Grave Digger... and yet? The ending was a let-down? Just some random woman, idk just a bit meh. But I loved watching Booth interact with his army friend and when he said he named Parker after him 😭😭.

The Doctor in the Den: Oh Cam 🥺 I felt so sorry for her, watching Michelle turn her away at first was so heartbreaking but the ending fixed it.

Mayhem on the Cross: Sweets' backstory??? OH MY GOD 😭😭😭 I just want to hold him and wrap him up in bubble wrap (I was also watching this on the train to uni so absolutely could NOT CRY).

The Critic in the Cabernet: This was a wild one! Bones just randomly saying she wants a baby? Saying she wants Booth to be the dad? The Family Guy hallucinations (I didnt like this)? BOOTH HAVING A BRAIN TUMOR!!!! WHAT WAS THAT! (part 2 of the "not very good season-long plots" bc I had no idea this was even becoming a plot until the end of this episode).

The End in the Beginning: I was confused for the first 5 minutes of this episode. Why would the writers tease me into thinking they were together??? 😩😩 It was a good episode but it just felt a bit random. AND THEN BOOTH DIDN'T REMEMBER BONES! (and then he was fine in the season 5 opener?).

Anyway, onto Season 5!

New crime show obsession?

I've finally decided to dive into the world of Bones and I'm going to take you on the journey with me! So here goes!

I've watched the pilot and am immediately into it. I'm intrigued by the focus of the show as when I'm watching CSI I find the scenes where they recontruct a victims face from the skull really cool and the people who do irl and soooo talented!

Also, the opening scene? The skull in the bag? Obsessed!

Already in love with Brennan and Booth's dynamic, feels very Finn/Russell - there's been some angst in the past that we haven't let go of - I'm excited for their back-and-forth-banter.

Straight away, I like Brennan and Riva, they're funny and cool and I hope they have as good of a relationship as this first episode has shown.

I probably won't write my thoughts on EVERY episode, maybe do mid-season and season finale summaries idk we'll see!
