Tony: I just think it's unfair that one day I’ll be old and saggy when you continue to look hot.
Stephen: When we get to that point can I call you my sugar daddy?
Tony, affronted: Because you said something rude you could only call me daddy…BECAUSE YOU’RE NOT GETTING ANY OF MY SUGAR!

Stephen: I don't like this place.
Tony: You're just tired and horny. Don't worry, we'll leave soon, hon.
Stephen: The only good thing about this place is the corn punch.
Tony: ...The what?
Stephen, holding an entire bowl of "corn punch": It's good.

Hi. I saw this post asking for a fic that changed one's brain chemistry. Now there are a lot of fics I like; over 2000 bookmarked on ao3. And a lot of fics I love; I have 400+ of those fics tagged 'fave'. Of those 400, there are only around two dozen I would say legitimately changed me as a person. 1% changed the way I saw relationships and the world, changed the way I read and write. And I couldn't narrow it down to one - or ten - and didn't want to dump in OP's tags. So have this list of fics that permanently changed who I am as a person.
Warning: I love long fics, and some of these are the same specific tropes that I love or that really affect me personally (ex. arranged marriage). Expect angst, and especially angst with a happy ending. That said these fics are all objectively amazing.
(sorry to people who don't like long fics, but we are simply not the same. and that's OK.)
listed in order of fandom, then length.
Banshee In A Well - 43k, complete, DC, Tim Drake. Childhood trauma, childhood trauma, came back wrong/can't stop coming back! Tim is a little FREAK and I luv him.
straight on 'til morning - 102k, complete, DC, timkon/Kon-El. This is within the niche genre that for some reason appeals to me specifically, of characters having a LOT of feelings about sex and dealing with it poorly.
variations on a theme - 5k, complete, MCU, ironstrange. This is one of the fics that made me truly love ironstrange. Stephen sees through millions of possibilities and in doing so, falls in love with Tony. Evocative, beautiful, succinct.
The Art of Losing - 33k, complete, Red White and Royal Blue, firstprince. This fic made me cry. This fic BROKE MY HEART. And I WENT BACK TO IT. Multiple times! This is a breakup fic that breaks you down then puts you back together. You will come out different, and only you can say if it's for the worse or the better.
With so much of my heart (that none is left to protest) - 65k, complete, Red White and Royal Blue, firstprince. There are so many firstprince fics that essentially translate the events of the book into a different setting. And I love all of them. (My own fic, then fucking have me, also does this, self plug self plug self plug). I had to narrow this selection down to just one, and this is probably my absolute favorite.
You Don't Have To (Say Yes) - 192k, complete, Star Trek, spirk/Jim Kirk. This is within the niche genre that for some reason appeals to me specifically, of characters having a LOT of feelings about sex and dealing with it poorly (yeah, again).
THE MARRIAGE OF TRUE MINDS - 262k, complete, Star Trek, spirk. Star Trek arranged marriage epistolary fic. I read this 4 years ago, and I STILL think of a line from this fic constantly (we're aligned, we're aligned, we're aligned). If you don't read anything else for the rest of your life, read this.
DON'T THE WAVES PULL THE SAND? DON'T THE MOON PULL THE TIDES? - 58k, complete, Star Wars, finnpoe. I don't even go here. And yet. And yet. This is within the niche genre that for some reason appeals to me specifically, of characters having a LOT of feelings about sex and dealing with it poorly (yeah, AGAIN).
Not Part of the Plan - SERIES, 8 works, 337k, complete. Supernatural, destiel. This is an arranged marriage fic au series, that started with a oneshot pwp, and somehow grew into a sprawling, world and character building EPIC. And that to me is always a marker of quality. You KNOW it's good if the author couldn't stop themselves.
wander your own land - 379k, incomplete, Yellowjackets, shaunajackie and others. I told you I like long fics. Girl survival situationships, cannibalism, jealousy, cabin fever, hallucinations, trying to keep a fucking baby alive in some of the worst possible circumstances.
Infinite Variations of a Summer Day - 76k, complete, X-Men, Pietro Maximoff. I love Pietro, he is one of my favorite characters of all time, and this is such a great character fic. See Pietro slowly driven insane in a time loop that examines his relationships with himself, his team, his family, and his powers.
drop your own recs in the notes. and if you have any suggestions for griddlehark/the locked tomb, pLEA- *gunshots*

For Little Troublemakers -
While coming back from Peter's and Strange 's house, the Little!Reader can't help but take one of Little! Peters hoodie because he smells so good 🥹
Daddy Tony is very disappointed that she stole something and when he tries to return it to peter, he tells that it's okay for Little Reader to have it because she gave him her bracelet 👉👈
And the bigs can't help but see how cute their littles are 🥹

Tony was just casually walking past your playroom and had to make a double-take of you. You were sitting on your fluffy carpet with various toys laying around, but what actually got his attention was the big sweater you were wearing.
He did not recognize that one!
Tony knows exactly what's in your closet because he dresses you mostly every day, there's also a drawer with some of his t-shirts and a few hoodies because he knows you love how they smell like him.
The thing is he can't remember a pastel blue one where little paws were splattered on the back.
That was not one of his and neither yours.
"Baby?" he knocked softly on the door frame to get your attention.
You turned your upper half a little and waved at him with a smile.
"Hi, daddy! Look, I got my bunny dressed!" you said and showed him your bunny proudly that was wearing a purple dress.
"She looks great, but can you tell me where you got that hoodie from sweetheart?" he asked while walking over to you, hands in his pockets.
You looked down and fiddled with the end of it. You were afraid that he would get sad that you were wearing a hoodie from someone else and you don't want to hurt his feelings. You love your daddy's clothes but Peter's have such a different texture and smell so good as well, you always think of him when wearing them.
"Uhh...from Peter," you mumbled but Tony heard what you said with how shocked he looked.
"Did you take it with you last time we were visiting?" he asked.
"Yes, but-"
"No buts, that's not good baby, you can't just take something that's not yours. You will give it back to Peter at the weekend, okay?" he raised his eyebrow and you pout a little, nodding your head anyway not intending on making a scene.
"Yes daddy." you sighed and made grabby hands for him. "Up, please?"
Tony gave you a small smile and picked you up, kissing the side of your head, not pushing the subject any further.
⭒⎊🕸️۞⭒
The weekend came quickly and you were knocking excitedly on the front door. It opened a second later and when you saw it was Peter you practically jumped in his arms, giving him a bear hug.
"I missed you lots! We have so many games to play, come!" Peter told you and grabbed your hand, wanting to drag you behind him but a cough from behind you made you stop in your tracks.
"Didn't you forget something, sweets?" Your daddy said, nodding his head to the bag that he was holding.
"Oh...right." you let go of Peter's hand and took your bag, opening it you pulled the baby blue hoodie and Peter's face fell a bit.
Did he do something wrong for you to give it back to him?
"I wanted to give dis back to you." You said and wanted to hand it over to him.
"Why?" he asked, clearly confused. He thought you liked it, don't you like him anymore?
"Hello, little one" Stephen greeted you with a pat on your head and went to hug your daddy, longer than usual, then turned back to you and Peter. "What's going on here?"
"She took one of Peter's hoodies and I'm-" Before Tony could say anything more Peter interrupted him.
"She can have it! Look, she gave me one of her bracelets!" he said proudly and showed his wrist to them where he was wearing one of your self-made bracelets. Peter brought his attention back to you when you hung your head low, the hoodie still in your hands.
Tony and Stephen looked at each other and could've melted on the spot, both their littles were getting along so well and they couldn't be more happy. They watched Peter, who was helping you putting on the blue hoodie, giving you a kiss on your cheek.
He took your hand again and made you twirl around one time. "It looks gweat on you!"
You giggled and Peter now took the chance to take you to his room to finally play all the games he had in mind.
"You know, your little Casanova here is the reason she's a giggling and blushing mess every time I say his name," Tony said while crossing his arms.
"They're faster than us..." Stephen said and turned on his heel, making his way to the kitchen with Tony not far behind.
"Then I guess we have to catch up on them." Tony winked at him.
Since that day they have to keep an eye on you and Peter because Stephen noticed that a lot of Peter's clothes went missing more often and he put two and two together when he found a box full of colorful bracelets. He figured out that probably every time you gift the boy something he exchanges his clothes to return the favor.
It took Tony and Stephen 2 hours to explain to you both that Peter just can't give you all his clothes.

I'm loving your dabbles! If you are still taking promts here is mine. Ironstrange - sugerbaby Stephen <3
Hopefully this is close enough to count... Thanks @infiniteeight8 for the help with this one!
When Stephen had been eighteen he’d ended up in a sugar baby arrangement. It hadn’t worked out, Stephen had fallen for Justin, while Justin had seen the relationship as purely transactional. But the affection Justin had shown him had clicked for Stephen. Gifts, showerings of affection, being shown off… Stephen loved it.
Stephen was too old and too financially stable to be seen that way, now.
Which was why he wasn’t sure what to do with the gorgeous silver and blue watch in his hands. It was expensive enough that it wasn’t the sort of thing a person gifted on a whim. But there was no anniversary or birthday to explain it.
It reminded Stephen of the gifts Justin had given him.
“I can’t accept this,” he said, though he desperately wanted to.
Tony raised an eyebrow at him. “You want to,” Tony said. “I can always tell.”
Unease twisted in Stephen’s chest. That was the other problem. Stephen craved this, but he loved Tony. He couldn’t bear Tony seeing their relationship as transactional. Or worse, couldn’t handle Tony thinking that Stephen saw their relationship that way.
How could this last if Tony thought Stephen was in it for money?
Tony moved closer. “Hey,” Tony said gently. “I like giving gifts, okay? I like seeing my partners spoiled. I like doing the spoiling.”
Stephen turned the watch in his hands. Time with you is too precious to waste, stared up at him.
The personalization stopped him. Justin had never personalized anything. Money had never been a problem, but sentiment had never been there.
He ran his fingers over the inscription. Something in his chest eased.
“We both want this,” Tony promised. “I love you, Stephen. I also like spoiling you. So let me.”
Stephen’s heart fluttered. “Well, if you insist.”

redone prompt
I skipped prompts on April 1 because I figured it would get lost amongst The Boopening. (And also I was chasing the 1000 boop badge. lol.)
Today’s prompt is a post instead of an Ask reply because I decided to rewrite the prompt that I answered and then deleted on March 31. I’m glad I did! I like this version much, much better than the other one.
The prompt:
@mystical-magician asked:
Ironstrange prompt: arranged marriage. Maybe with royalty au, maybe magical shenanigans, maybe it's canon background? Maybe something else completely.
-
Tony leads his new husband to the suite of rooms that has been prepared for them. He wishes he could follow, instead; the back of his neck is prickling like crazy, and the words of the negotiators who hammered out the marriage contract are echoing in his ears: The negotiations were too easy. They hardly asked for anything. They must want something else. Be wary of your new husband.
Tradition forbids armed guards on the marriage night. It will be only the third time in Tony’s life that he’s been outside the reach of his guards. It’s the perfect opportunity for Stephen Strange to murder him, if that’s what Kamar-Taj wants.
But when the suite doors close behind Strange, all he does is pull off the elaborate headdress his traditions call for and drop it and the heavy marriage robe on the floor, leaving him in a much lighter, royal blue tunic. “Thank the Vishanti,” he groans, taking a seat on one of the low settees in the suite’s receiving room. “Whoever made those so heavy when they have to be worn from dawn until dusk is a cruel man.”
Tony is left dumbstruck for the first time he can remember. Strange looks up at him and takes on a sheepish expression. “I apologize, I know no one has explained anything to you. The Elders couldn’t decide whether or not it was permitted prior to the marriage, and ultimately they decided to err on the conservative side. But I can explain now.” He gestures to the other settee, placed perpendicular to the one he’d claimed.
After a moment, Tony shrugs out of his own marriage robe and sits. “The negotiators did suspect something else was going on,” he says. “I take it they were right.”
“Yes, but nothing political.”
“I’m a prince and you’re The Ancient One’s prize protege,” Tony says dryly. “It’s political by definition.”
Strange snorts a little. “For you, maybe. Not for Kamar-Taj. We didn’t need any of the things we asked for in the negotiation. It just seemed like the done thing.”
Tony frowns. “Then what did you want?”
Strange looks slightly… embarrassed? “When a Sorcerer of Kamar-Taj attains the rank of Master, a spell is performed. It reveals their most ideal romantic partner. You’re mine.”
“Your most ideal romantic partner,” Tony repeats, staring. Strange nods. “This is… a love match?”
“Well, not yet,” Strange says, blushing slightly. “But unless something goes very wrong—and it can, this isn’t a guarantee—it will be.”
Tony can’t help it: he laughs so hard actual tears start leaking out of his eyes. Every time he thinks he’s going to stop, he looks up at Stephen’s bemused expression and starts laughing again. Eventually, he sucks in enough breath to gasp out, “They thought— They warned me you might— might try to kill me.”
After one gobsmacked moment, that sets Stephen laughing, too.
Not a bad way to start a marriage.

Here's the thing.
RDJ is Tony Stark. Nothing can change that.
I'm happy to see him back, but as Doom? Its iffy.
I love RDJ as much as the next person, but I'm not sure how he'll portray this character. We don't need another Tony. We need a new character that's unique and straight from the comics. Why couldn't they cast a new face (an actual Romani face)?
I just don't want his sacrifice in EG to be in vain. He's a hero- nothing can change that.
I don't need Marvel to be stupid and do what they've done to too many characters: ruin their development (ahem.. Dr Strange, Wanda, Hulk, etc).
I know it's the multiverse but still.
On the bright side, the ANGST.
Pepper's enemy being her multiversal husband, Peter seeing Tony again only for it to be Doom, maybe some twisted Ironstrange content??! (Doom and Strange were huge in the comics.).
There are so many possibilities!!
In short, I feel conflicted, but I'm curious to see what happens.

Here's some little christmas gifts for some amazing mutuals that have made this year a whole lot more bearable with their amazing content and their amazing interactions and just being amazing in general :']
Long post ahead so divider here to spare your scrolling. (I am also probably gonna get a bit sappy so if that makes you cringe: you've been warned lol)
@lilbitofmac Thank you for being my introduction to the fandom here on tumblr :'''D I really think I wouldn't have stuck around if it weren't for your initial warmth and encouragement. Your Tony remains my fave Tony I go feral over your art orz I may or may not have the clingy ironstrange drawing as a phone wallpaper-
Tumblr media
Hope next year is kinder on you man! I know we don't really talk outside of tags/replies, but if you ever need smthn I can help with my inbox is always there.
@strxngetimes I'm just tagging this one blog because I don't want to spam all your other blogs lmao. Thank you for sharing your interpretations of the characters with us, not only the rps with other muses but also the headcanons and brainrot. It's always such a pleasure both to see you on the timeline writing with other muses and on the inbox with the disaster man.
Tumblr media
I specially like how you include his Cloak in the mix and give it a personality- I absolutely adore the Cloak :'') So here's it being all clingy to the disaster man. Hope to see more of you having fun with all ur muses in the coming year :D
@starkkawajiri Pretty art!! Hilarious and heart wrenching character interactions!!! I love your designs and lore building so much. Fanboying over the same disaster man and making him suffer always brings a smile to my face. I've wanted to draw your Strange for a while now, so this was also the perfect excuse, I love him so much you have no idea-
Tumblr media
Can't wait to see more of your amazing designs and lore stuff for this AU! (and anything else you create next year :])
@nekojetto I think your Strange is the purest Strange there is and the fact that it's based off Supreme makes that so much more impressive. Your animatics are simply breath taking, and whenever I go back to check your concepts and sketches for character interactions I always get a smile on my face :D
Tumblr media
I'm sorry I haven't gotten to the collab just yet :'') Plz know I still have it in mind, haven't forgotten about it and am still just as excited to finally get to it as I was the first day!
@infiniteeight8 Your words make me cry and laugh so much all the time :'') You write the disaster men so beautifully both in serious, fluffy, angsty and funny situations. Reading ur stuff keeps the creative juices flowing!
Tumblr media
I remember you liked the vampire Stephen prompt you were sent, so here's some of that, even if it's more halloween-y than christmas-y.

So the timeline I live on as an Ironstrange shipper is that Tony and Stephen are gay and have been on and off dating for a while (they met at some gala or place rich types with egos converge).
After Afghanistan things get a bit more serious as Stephen realises he could have lost Tony and Tony realises how much Stephen does for him.
Tony is all set to propose after events of Ironman 3 but then Stephen has his accident and pushes Tony away and eventually goes on his Dr Strange journey.
This is why he's not around for Ultron and Tony is throwing himself into work and creating Ultron.
Next they meet is when Stephen senses something is very wrong with Tony (since getting powers he's been keeping tabs on the man he loves) and his life force is slipping.
Stephen is the one that finds Tony in Siberia and helps him back to health while gaining a healthy amount of animosity towards Steve.
They start to rekindle things and Tony Proposes at the end of Spiderman Homecoming.
Now they have time to get ready for threat of Thanos in a way that Tony doesn't die ( some kind of soul linking, life energy sharing magic Stephen uses after Tony does his snap). Though at beginning of Infinitey War they are having a bit of a spat about the venue for the wedding which is why Tony is out running with Pepper venting and Stephen is being all extra. But during the journey to space they patch things up.
Tony is devastated by the snap but knows there's an endgame and has faith his choices will lead to restoring the snap and saving the day like Stephen told him. Which of course everything works out and we get a wedding instead of a funeral.
Sometimes there's variations on this headcanon but it's my main Ironstrange one.

Epilogue: The Coronation
Tony woke up from a ray of sunlight tickling his eyes. He grimaced at the interruption to his peaceful slumber. He squeezed his eyes shut further in a futile attempt to keep out the light.
Grumbling, he turned from his back onto his side, pulling the blanket with him to shield his face from any further disturbance from the sun.
But now something else tickled him in the face.
Tony opened his eyes in irritation – and noticed a flop of black hair with white streaks poking him in the nose and eyes.
Tony’s lips curled into a relaxed smile. He still wasn’t fully used to this; Stephen staying in his chambers overnight, to him being the first thing Tony saw in the morning.
Tony adored it. And he didn’t want this to ever change, their routine that they had built together. One he wished continued, for all the days to come.
A more than pleasant warmth spread in his chest, slowly radiating into every one of his limbs, filling him with deep-rooted contentment and peace. And love.
Tony could tell the sorcerer was still sound asleep by the steady rhythm of his chest. He didn’t want to wake Stephen yet – although he knew they had to get up soon – so he just put his arm around Stephen's shoulder and buried his face in that dark hair, inhaling the scent of his husband.
Stephen must have been only at the brink of sleep, because he stirred. Slowly he moved his head up, in search of the source of the sensation that had torn him from his sleep.
He noticed Tony and looked at him with sleepy eyes, blinking a few times before having any coherent thought.
It was unbearably cute. Tony had no choice but to kiss him, placing a little peck on the sorcerer’s lips.
“Hmm…” Stephen closed his eyes again and hummed delightfully.
“Good morning,” Tony whispered fondly, a smile permanently etched onto his face.
“Morning.” Stephen's voice was raspy from the lingering sleepiness. It was and will forever be Tony's favorite thing to hear in the morning.
The king smiled and lifted himself halfway onto his arms to lean over Stephen's face. He pressed a soft kiss onto his lips.
“It’s your special day.”
Stephen cocked up an eyebrow. “Oh really? I almost forgot because it’s merely the only thing everyone talked about these last few weeks.”
Tony shoved him playfully. “Douchebag.”
But before he could withdraw to the other side of the bed, Stephen slung his arms around him and pulled him close. Tony's resistance was half-hearted at best and died down fast. He settled against Stephen's chest.
“We could stay in bed all day and reschedule to tomorrow,” he suggested.
“Great idea.” Stephen buried his face into Tony’s soft hair. “You’re the one telling Pepper.”
“Absolutely not.
“It’s my special day,” Stephen reminded him. “So I won’t do it either.”
Tony couldn't argue against that. “We can ask Jarvis,” he settled and Stephen agreed, not taking this whole argument seriously anyway.
He moved his hand into Tony’s hair and started playing with it, brushing his fingers against the scalp. Tony let out a content noise and closed his eyes.
It was the day of Stephen's coronation and there were still a thousand things left to do – yet they couldn't seem to care, basking in each other’s presence.
Until a knock on the door finally reminded them of the world outside these four walls.
Jarvis entered, carrying a tray with breakfast. “Good morning, Sirs.”
“Is there any possibility we can stay another hour in bed?” Tony asked, groaning. He turned his head back to Stephen, who had sat up, putting his feet on the carpet. “Don’t get up. He hasn’t answered yet.”
Stephen rolled his eyes affectionately, and fished his robes from where they hung over the back of a chair.
“I’m afraid duty awaits,” Jarvis dashed Tony's hopes of a lazy morning. “Your bath is drawn and Miss Potts awaits you in the throne room afterwards.”
“I’ll use my own bath,” Stephen told him and the manservant nodded.
“I will inform Wong.”
Stephen saw his husband off by pressing another brief kiss onto his lips. Then he left the King’s Chambers – not without taking the tea Jarvis had brought with him.
By now, he almost slept as often in Tony’s bed as in his own; still he enjoyed the luxury of his own space.
______________
An hour later they met with Pepper in the throne room to go over everything one last time.
As the already reigning king, Tony had taken the role of the officiator, signifying that he approved of the to-be king.
He stood in front of the two thrones, solemnly, facing the room. This area was elevated by a step and since Stephen was standing on the lower level, Tony registered with a sly smirk that – for once – he was taller than the sorcerer.
Waiting for him to speak, Stephen noticed his smirk and raised one eyebrow.
“Consort Stephen, are you willing to take the Oath?” Tony asked, quoting the ceremonial speech.
“I am willing,” Stephen said. He had the easier part of the two of them; he mostly had to answer the questions.
“Will you, Consort Stephen, get drunk with me…” out of the corner of his eye, Tony saw Pepper’s eyes shoot up in a glare next to them as he changed the text on the spur of the moment. His smirk got even bigger. “…before the ceremony, to be able to bear all the people and their long and boring speeches?”
“Tony, please. We’re on a schedule,” Pepper scolded him exasperated. Normally used to his antics, she had been extra stressed these past few days before the event she had basically been planning on her own for months.
Sighing, she turned to Stephen and expected him to step in. Between the two men the sorcerer was usually the more dutiful one.
Stephen's eyes were on his husband. “I’m so glad you asked. Please! I really do.”
Pepper threw her hands in the air, giving up. “Not you too! Fine! If you want to make a fool of yourselves in front of no less than seven realms, be my guest.”
She seemed truly upset this time, which was why Tony stepped to her, raising his hands placatingly. “Pep. My friend. Best coronation planner of all kingdoms. We have been rehearsing this for weeks. Stephen and I know every single word and every gesture by heart.”
His reassuring voice made her take a deep breath, calming her down a bit.
Maybe she was the one needing a drink, she thought.
Tony took her hands, smiling at her calmly. He was joined by Stephen, who stepped next to them. “Everything will go smoothly,” the sorcerer promised.
“Exactly,” Tony agreed. “We’ll make you proud.” Like she was a mother of two not always well behaved boys.
“This isn’t about me.” Pepper was quick to object. And really, this was Stephen’s day. He was going to be crowned a King today.
“But we couldn't have done this without you.”
Pepper tried to hide her blush and the smile on her lips. “Alright. I guess I really prepared you the best I could.” She already was very proud of both of them. No matter how this day would go.
“You did.” Tony let her hands go and she shooed them both away.
“Fine. Enough rehearsal. Go get ready.”
Amused, Tony and Stephen took the opportunity to leave. They still had a little time before the guests arrived and they had to get changed.
“Getting drunk really sounds tempting,” Stephen admitted in a low voice.
“It really does,” Tony sighed. “But Pepper is going to behead us and proclaim a republic if we do that.”
“Vishanti forbid. In the end, she will install a democracy..”
“Just imagine.” Tony clutched his heart, dramatically. “The horror…”
Laughing, they went to enjoy their last hour alone before the palace would be filled with people.

Finally, the time had come for the coronation. The palace was packed; more so than at their wedding. It was so full that some guests were even happy to just stand in the back of the throne room.
It was a joyous day. The windows showed a perfect blue sky – as if even the gods blessed this occasion.
The guests chattered amongst each other, using the event to catch up with people from the other kingdoms that they rarely saw.
But as soon as the music started, all eyes turned forward expectantly.
Tony entered the room from the side door in the front. Everyone stood up respectfully on his arrival. Tony eyed the front row while walking to the center: it was reserved for family and close friends.
He spotted Donna Strange, who beamed happily. He winked at her. Her brother was about to arrive.
Tony stood in front of the thrones, solemnly, facing the room. The music changed and the big double door in the back opened.
Everyone watched the procession with Stephen as the main act. His ceremonial gowns were still robes in the style of Kamar-Taj but in the colors of the House of Stark. It was an art of red and gold.
One of the pieces looked suspiciously like the red cloak Tony had gifted his husband.
Stephen stopped in front of the king the same time the music ended. A cushion marked his place in front of the steps that led to the thrones, and Stephen kneeled on it, lowering his head.
Tony stood straighter and raised his eyes back to the crowd before he opened his mouth.
“People of Midgard, Allies of Midgard, Friends of Midgard. Before you kneels – humbly – Stephen Vincent Strange, Consort of the King of Midgard, Prince of Kamar-Taj. If you have any objections to his approval as a King of this kingdom, you may object now.”
There was a deafening silence. As if everyone was trying not to make even a noise by breathing.
Tony smiled, his eyes back on Stephen. Even though the sorcerer appeared calm on the outside, Tony knew he was nervous. He noticed the little tells: the shaking hands, the tight jaw, and that he refused to even do as much as glance up to him.
They had rehearsed this many times. Like Tony had said: Stephen knew his words by heart; he didn’t do things halfway.
But the public was unpredictable. There was always a last doubt left; would everything go as planned?
As if the hall wasn’t filled with people that loved and adored the man. Not just friends and family but also nobles and members of the aristocracy, as well as citizens.
There were several royal servants assisting. One of them stepped at Tony’s side, presenting him a golden scepter on a cushion. Tony took it and gave it to Stephen, who took it carefully.
“Consort Stephen, are you willing to take the Oath?” he asked his husband, his voice strong enough to carry even to the last row of their audience.
And Stephen answered, “I am willing.”
“Will you solemnly promise and swear to govern the People of Midgard according to their respective laws and customs?”
“I solemnly promise to do so.”
“Will you – to your power – cause Law and Justice, in Mercy, to be executed in all your judgments?”
“I will.”
Another royal servant brought a pillow on which the crown was resting. The boy tried to hide his excitement, but he was only partially successful; the barely concealed smile betrayed him.
Tony exchanged a quick glance with him. He had personally chosen Peter for this task; it would be his last as a servant boy. Stephen and he had agreed that it was time for the boy to get a full royal education.
It was never soon enough to secure the future of the realm.
Tony took the crown – a beautiful piece made by a master of his craft – and turned back to the sorcerer. He held it in the air right above Stephen's head.
“I hereby declare you, Stephen Vincent Strange, King of Midgard.”
He lowered the crown onto his head. It fit perfectly.
Stephen lifted his face and his eyes met Tony’s who grinned proudly at him. Infected by it, Stephen mirrored it. He elegantly rose to his feet and the trumpet call rang out, signaling that a new King now joined the former as rulers of the kingdom. The royal court offered up three cheers.
“Long live King Strange!”
“Long live King Stark!”
“Long live the Kings!”
The crowd was on their feet and the cheers went on when Tony extended a hand – their fingers entwining – as he led his husband ceremoniously to their thrones.
They turned around like the unit they were, presenting their front to the audience. The cheers grew louder as they sat down.
Midgard now had two Kings.
This marked the end of the official part of the ceremony. Next up, guests would present gifts and congratulations to the new ruler.
Donna was first to step up to them and she lingered in a curtsy. “Your Majesty, congratulations and sincere best wishes on this special occasion. I wish you and King Stark a long, successful and joyous reign together.”
“Thank you, Princess Strange.”
Donna looked up at her brother, so very proud of him. A servant approached them, carrying a casket that was opened in front of Stephen.
Donna gestured to its contents. “I took the liberty to hand-select the gifts to the new king myself.” Her smile turned into a mischievous one.
Stephen spotted family heirlooms from the House of Strange. Most of them were normally passed onto the first born child; but Stephen was sure their parents had never wanted them to leave the Kingdom of Kamar-Taj.
Donna clearly hadn’t told them what she had packed.
Stephen was touched by the gesture. It was a piece of his old home he was allowed to keep.
“Thank you, Donna.” He spoke quietly and more intimately than the occasion normally would allow. “I look forward to your coronation.”
He really did.
The siblings looked at each other, smiling softly. When they were children, they would have never thought they would be standing here in front of each other for this kind of event. It was reassuring that after everything that had happened, they still had each other; even when they belonged to different realms now.
With another curtsy, Donna left, heading to the ballroom, where the rest of the festivities will take place.
Next in line were Thor and Loki; both grinning broadly.
“On behalf of the King and Queen of Asgard, we wish you a long, happy and successful reign,” Thor spoke first as the older one, addressing both kings.
A wooden chest was put down in front of them. Loki opened it with a swirl of his hand, revealing – to Tony’s surprise – an axe.
In his eyes it didn’t seem fitting; while it wasn’t an unusual gift for this kind of occasion – even if there were better choices – Stephen wasn’t known for wielding them. Not with his own hands. Especially a heavy one like this.
But glancing at Stephen, Tony noticed him looking at it with awe.
“The Axe of Angarruumus.” Stephen's eyes moved from the chest back to Loki. The gift had definitely been the mage’s idea. “I see you use your time in Kamar-Taj well.”
Stephen had heard that soon after he had proposed Loki for the position of Sorcerer Supreme, Loki started spending more and more time in the Sorcerer’s Temples. Becoming Sorcerer Supreme was a long process with many tests before he was awarded the title. But Stephen had no doubt the Asgardian prince would manage it; if he set his mind to it.
“Actually, this is from the vault of our father. I believe you can make better use of it.”
“I will. Thank you. I’m very honored to receive this.”
“You should also visit me in Kamar-Taj soon. I’m thinking about redecoration,” Loki added, teasingly.
Stephen smiled and had no intention to bite. He didn’t feel the urge to compete with Loki anymore – at least not in this regard. He was happy where he was – at Tony’s side, ruling the Kingdom of Midgard. Maybe he would make plans to bring magic into this realm; which would be a task for a whole lifetime.
“I’m looking forward to hearing your ideas,” he therefore replied.
Loki’s smile grew more honest, they were past their days of competing and one-upping banter.
Thor and Loki left to go to the ballroom and the next guests in line stepped forward. It would take a while to exchange friendly words with everyone but Stephen couldn't mind less. He was happy; this was a joyous day. Not only because he had been crowned a king, but also because of his fantastic husband at his side.
In a short break between two guests, Stephen took Tony’s hand in his. Brown eyes looked at him, silently asking if everything was alright.
Everything was just perfect.
Stephen kept his voice low, when he asked, “I was wondering: is there something like a coronation night.” He winked at Tony, who caught up immediately.
“Oh absolutely.” His smile became wicked. “I will show you how to be a King outside, and in the bedroom.” His words were husky, promising.
"I look forward to that," Stephen said with a smile of his own. "Your Majesty."

Oh wow! This is going to be so much fun!!!!! I really like the idea and I am so excited for you and to see where it goes.
Umm I feel like I am spoiled for options there is so much I am curious about. Did they first meet at a conference? Or are we going back to childhood? Ooo I cannot see Stephen being calm about iron man yes tony stark no or well watching the love of his life handle a nuke through the wormhole....but on the flip side imagine tony freaked out of his mind not knowing if stephen is safe in the aftermath. This is going to be sooo good 😌 so so good
ok so you sent in many questions & scenarios, so ill answer them briefly first.
1. they meet right before IM1 at a medical conference/fundraiser and Stephen was volunTOLD to be there as punishment for something by Metro General and didn't want to be there initially.
2. Let's just say Tony never had the chance to even look at the report because Stephen deemed it not worthy of attention. Even years later, he will GO OFF about that report & Fury at the drop of a hat.
3. Stephen did NOT take the nuke thing lightly.
4. Tony constantly stressed about Steph just as much because Steph (even while being a civilian) wouldn't back down from facing whatever Tony was fighting with him. Here's a ficlet because the inspiration hit me:
"Sir, shall I call Doctor Strange?" JARVIS spoke softer than Tony had ever heard him say before. Tony's heart clenched painfully at the reminder that he's leaving Stephen behind. He'd promised his husband he wouldn't just die on him without telling him again. But he'd hoped he never had to make the call ever. Especially not so soon after the last time. Tony had only wanted more time. God how he wished they'd had more time. That clearly wasn't in the cards for them. He didn't want to make the call but he's promised. It was written into their vows and Tony was nothing if not true to his word, especially to Stephen. "Might as well." Tony stated simply, keeping the fear out of his voice. "Patch in directly to his watch-gauntlet J." Tony knew there was a chance Stephen might not pick up. But he only ever removed the watch gauntlet for surgeries and procedures, so Tony was banking on Stephen still having it on today in this chaos. The call rung for a few seconds as he put all his strength into making the turn up the side of the tower. Just as he almost clipped the building, the call connected, and Stephen's voice came through. "Tony?" Stephen asked quietly, almost as if he'd been holding his breath until then. Tony had never hated himself more than in that moment. He didn't want to say goodbye. "I never wanted to leave you behind. I'm so sorry Stephen" Tony bit out quickly. "Tony? Please don't do this." Stephen rasped. He must have known what Tony was preparing to do then. Tony counted his blessings that he didn't need to explain. "I have to baby. There's no other way. I love you so so much Stephen Strange-Stark." The portal grew closer. "I love you too Anthony Stark-Strange. Please come back-" The call cut off as Tony entered the portal, leaving New York far behind as he ventured into the abyss of space. He let go of the missile when he could no longer hold on, letting go of the only thing that had kept him moving. His eyes stayed locked on the scene before him for a brief few seconds until the ship exploded. With the phantom voice of his husband pleading for him to come home in his ear, Tony shut his eyes. With his last breath, he apologized softly for breaking promises he never should have made in the first place.

Witchdoctor
IronStrange Week : Day 3 Prompt: Love | Hatred @ironstrangehaven
Featuring Witch Stephen Strange, Witchfinder's son Tony Stark, Cat Levi, and more than enough angst to make your eyes bleed!
---
For some reason, the eucalyptus tree seemed to have a very ancient aura to it.
Stephen had noticed it many times before. This was a route they frequented on to travel between the two towns separated by this forest, but it was the first time they had stopped to camp so close to this particular tree. He wondered if there was a reason for the tree to have such strong aura. Perhaps it had been planted here by another witch for some specific reason. Or perhaps it was just a randomized luck that it grew to be more aura-rich than others.
He pulled out the knife Tony had himself forged for Stephen, and started carving the bark of the eucalyptus. With precise movements, he created the shape of an eye, and within it he created the Sigil of Vishanti, the symbol that had represented his coven for centuries.
He stood back to inspect his work. There; if this tree did belong to another witch or a coven, he would simply find the sigil gone the next time he saw this tree. The other witch would remove any foreign symbol of claim from it.
“Stephen!” He heard Tony’s call from beyond the greenery, and the next moment, the genius emerged, pushing past some tree branches. “I found a small clearing with a pond— what’s that?” Tony’s eyes fell on the mark Stephen had just carved out on the eucalyptus tree.
“It’s, ahh.. I just felt like leaving our mark here.” A lousy excuse, Stephen knew. But he couldn’t exactly tell Tony that he was a witch and this was their coven’s symbol.
Tony raised ay eyebrow at the mark. “Lame. That’s not how you leave a mark. Gimme,”
“Wait,” Stephen spluttered, but Tony simply took the knife from his hand, moved near the tree, and started carving out his own mark, right under Stephen’s.
‘Tony Was Here’
“There,” Tony grinned proudly at it. “Now anyone who sees it will know exactly who was here.”
Stephen huffed. Well, that mark would mean nothing to the witch who owns the tree — if there is one — so he supposed there was no harm done.
“Come on,” Tony said, nudging at Stephen’s arm. “We need to setup camp before sunset. I found a nice spot.”
Tony led them to the spot in question and it was, indeed, nice. A conveniently large area was cleared around a pond. While Tony was setting up a fire, Stephen discretely cast a simple ward around the area to deter any predatory animals that may try to approach their camp. It was truly a surprise that Tony had never once, in any of their visits, noticed that they’d never had a run-in with anything bigger than a wild cat.
Town boys.
Tony had no idea just how many times Stephen had saved his ass. He wished he could brag about it, but that would require him to reveal certain other secrets, such as him being a witch.
The sun had set by the time they had set up their camp for the night. When the fire had grown bright and warm, they huddled together close to it, leaning on each other, watching the blue sky turn darker and darker, until it was black, the bright radiance of a thousand stars twinkling overhead.
It was nice.
“Let’s run away,” Tony suddenly said.
Stephen blinked. “What?” He sat upright to stop leaning on Tony, and tilted his head at his partner.
Tony looked back at him, eyes reflecting sincerity. “You heard me.” He was entirely serious.
Stephen was well aware of the situation with Tony’s life. He was a Witchfinder by day, Blacksmith by night. He hated his job as a Witchfinder, a career he’d been forced into by his father, the head of their town’s Witchfinders sect. Tony passion was creation, not destruction. He disliked taking lives of the healers and midwifes who were frequently accused of practicing witchcraft (most of them weren’t even true accusations, and yet they were mercilessly burned at the stake).
For Tony, living with his family was comparable to hell, and his escapades with Stephen were a much needed reprieve, where he would use the excuse of ‘inspecting suspicious activities’ to visit the neighboring town with Stephen, and let his creativity loose in the private forge he owned there.
Stephen’s own situation wasn’t the most ideal, either.
While his family was open-minded and would have easily welcomed Stephen’s male lover to the family, the problem was glaringly obvious: Tony was a Witchfinder, in fact, he was The Witchfinder’s son. Hence they disliked it whenever Stephen lingered too much around Tony. Tony had, of course, taken note of the passive hostility Stephen’s family always seemed to aim at him.
He hadn’t told anyone that he and Tony were in a relationship, not even Donna.
But just because they had all these obstacles to reach a near-perfect life, didn’t mean they should just run away. Stephen was 17, and Tony had recently turned 19. They still had their entire life ahead of them to achieve that ideal life.
“No, Tony. What about your mother? Your friends?”
Tony huffed, letting his back slump down until he lay flat on the ground, Stephen turned further to face him. “It’s suffocating. I can’t take it anymore.”
Stephen sighed, massaging his face with a hand.
“It’s suffocating for you too,” Tony continued. “I know it is. You think you’re so good at hiding but you’re not.”
Tony was right.. but Stephen felt suffocated for entirely different reasons than what his partner might be imagining. Stephen was a witch dating a Witchfinder’s son, how could his life not be stressful? He didn’t even know what Tony would think if — when — he was to find out the truth about Stephen’s identity. Would his love turn to hatred?
Stephen liked to think that it wouldn’t...
“Think about it, Steph,” Tony insisted. “We can be free from the expectations of our families. We can build our own family. Buy a house. Or just be a nomad and make a hut in the middle of the forest.”
Stephen snorted. “What, like here?”
Tony shrugged, grinning. “Why not?”
“You aren’t built for the nomad life, Tony. You’ll die in less than a day without me.”
“Then it’s all the reason that you should accompany me,” Tony said, pulling Stephen down to the ground with him, and they turned into a laughing and giggling mess, limbs entangled together, their bodies pressed close against each other. It turned into a slow, sensual kiss.
Tony broke apart. “I’m willing to make a house anywhere in this universe, as long as you’re by my side.”
A warm feeling took over Stephen at that, and he basked in its comfort. “I love you so damn much.”
Tony gave another peck on his lips. “Me too, my witchdoctor.”
Oh, if only Tony knew just how much more accurate that title was for Stephen...
