I've been rereading We Hunt The Flame by Hafsah Faizal and loving it all over again, all while eyeing We Free The Stars on my shelf.

We Hunt The Flame was and is still an especially lovely world to me because of characters and culture embedded in it. It's so refreshing to see the many foods, dishes and even myths that I recognised in the book, let alone see arabic words and names! Gonna be reading the sequel next and am sooo excited🖤✨️

Something interesting about team pe [ pentar and ecorridor on lifesteal season 6 ], is that they clearly care about each other however they are WILLING to lie to keep the other safe, or walk on eggshells so that the team won't fall apart, they won't fall apart. with Pentar hiding hearts from E, telling Flame to remove the part where he got himself killed, when E logged off Pentar goes back to hunting people for hearts [ what a freakazoid btw/pos ] and Ecorridor lying to Pentar about dying and probably much more because ecor doesn't stream much idk [ E release a ls video or stream and MY LIFE IS YOURS ] ... It's just so interesting because Pentar goes through extreme lengths to hide the fact that he kills and dies for Ecor, and for what? to keep E naïve? Is it for Gratification? It's quite selfish and hypocritical to keep someone in the dark so that they don't experience the bloodshed that you've been doing to other people among other things. then E finds about this he's like.... understanding? And is thankful for what pentar did for him?

Okay, so I'm re-reading all of SJM's books (well, Throne of Glass series, ACOTAR & Crescent City) before the new CC3 book comes out. And I've had some thoughts and opinions ... (I would also love if people wanted to share their 2 cents!)

・Okay, I guess I'll never have the same exciting feeling when reading this series

・It feels like coming home, honestly.

・When the book ended, I just ... I didn't want it to be over, I felt like Aelin when everyone was going back to their own kingdoms - just stay until the end of Winter!

・I cannot say how much I love Abraxos; he PLAYS in the FLOWERS, and he FALLS IN LOVE. Like??? Can we get a lil book on the Wyverns SJM please! (because technically the game of thrones dragons are actually wyverns. Dragons have four legs and a pair of wings, wyverns have two legs and wins that attach to the front.

・I can't picture Lorcan perfectly in my head and that drives me crazy. And I was also againt Henry Cavill as Rowan, but I can't unsee it. After watching the Witcher...

・Nesta ... I'm one of the people who understand her, but also ... coming from poverty myself, I know what it's like to

・Also can Feyre fall into her female rage a bit? I just feel like she has a lot of pain that she's pushed down, and down and down. She needs to ... have more healing.

・AND HER BECOMING PREGNANT GOD REALLY, it just kinda ... I hate that trope. I only like this trope with Katniss and Peeta: that's how it's done right.

・Having two sisters mated to two best friends, but then the third sister and best friend may not be mated?? It's either all in or all out.

・I wish there was some explanation about the magic involved in not only the mating, but also the cauldron. It's all too ambiguous.

・AND WHAT MAKES MOR POWERFUL?! "Her power is truth." What. Does. That. Even. Mean.

・I did like A Court of Silver Flames though. I thought it was a brilliant book about Nesta's healing.

・It took me a while to get into the book, but once I did ... omg, I have even more characters that I love.

・And I cannot wait until the next book comes out! Although there were some aspects of the book that I found boring; like the viper queen (if I even got that right)

・Also the audiobook for CC & TOG are much more superior than ACOTAR. Even though they have a 'dramatised version,' there's an even better one on Youtube by the reader hag.

・I miss Lehaba so much

・And I saw somewhere that Bryce is the long-lost ruler of a Prythian court? And that Azriel might be one of the Princes of Hel?

・SJM does a great job at forming groups that you feel apart of

・Some people find Hunt boring, I don't ... I, well I rank him above Chaol. Ruhn is cool though, Bryce is incredible. Though I hate when I look up fanart of her and it's just a skinny girl with red hair? She's got golden skin, she's fit but curvy, and I want to see proper representation.

Confession time. After destiel went canon and broke tumblr, I read the entire wiki for the main characters before watching the final episodes and felt the finale was so out of character that I mentally wrote a fix it fic.

Here is me writing it down in honour of the third anniversary. A show that to me: consists of 3 episodes, a lot of meta posts that trended over the years, jokes about loving your car, some manic wiki reading and that odd dude who inexplicably did iffy prolapse photomanip fanart.

I have made no attempts to polish this. The voices probably aren't right but I tried to write an open ending that stays true to characterisation (aka as tumblr presented these three beloved characters which may be the opposite of what the writers of manly male, rock loving, hunters with guns in a muscle car and dead girlfriends had in mind) .

We follow the final episode as it began except after the pie festival and the vamp mime first murder, they're off to hunt but a flaming meteor falls from the sky and they follow it in the car. It hits a field, they see a human figure, run and use their coats and feet to put out the flames. It's Cas. They put him in the car, they're all very shaken no answers to Sam's many questions, awkward glances in the mirror from Dean then Cas breaks his silence and asks for his slice of pie... the one in the glove box. Sam is confused, Dean looks like he's going to vomit.

We restart the episode from a different point of view: After Castiel got sent to the empty, Dean began praying to whomever, whatever would hear (silently or under his breath but constantly.) he thinks he might be insane from grief but after all he's seen he has the smallest hope) . Jack as God can't technically rewrite all the laws of the universe but he's receiving these "prayers". He smirks when he finds a bylaw that he can make a saint of Castiel so that prayers to him are redirected straight to him and cannot be diverted (heaven's bureaucracy is complex).

The empty has known no peace for six months. Dean's internal monologue of prayer has been echoing around and amplified the more the empty tried to create silence. The empty has tried to kill Dean so many times but he's got a protective barrier on his hand that looks like a scratch (placed by a grateful angel) so he's been dodging these deaths like it's looney tunes, completely unaware. (insert scenes of echoey overlapping narration of longing and yearning over near misses of murder by multiple means. For angst broken up by comedy)

Back to now, to the car. The brothers staring at Cas, Dean gets out of the car to hyperventilate and try to hold it together. We focus in on the ringing and rushing blood sound in his ears as Sam seems to be asking questions again and Cas seems to be talking. Sam gets out of the car, asks his brother if he's OK, he obviously lies and says Yes.

Sam sighs and says "Yeah clearly, you look fantastic. So uh Cas says he wants in on the vampire mimes and is eager to do more hunting evil... and I know it's not the time but damnit when is ever the right time? ... Look, when I talked about a more normal life, I meant it. We write our own stories and maybe it's time for you to go try something, anything else really. How about you take a vacation? Cas and I will handle things."

"I've, well, I've given normal life a lot of thought, I've never truly fit in and I could try but I can only fake it for so long. Funny, but when I allowed myself to daydream of a different life, I imagined careers that led me back to the road and back to making things right, you know? I think at the core, that's who I am... And, hey, since you brought it up, I never asked you if this life is the 'normal' you want....To be honest: I know it's not. and I didn't want to be alone, at least not these past few months, I know I've seemed fine but"

"Oh no no, you did not seem 'fine' but I wasn't going to go out of my way to point it out. You didn't even wash for days at your worst. You mumble under your breath sometimes. Those guns are cleaned down to the last speck of dust. I wasn't going to leave you alone, not ever."

"Okay - Ok.ay! Since we're here having the 'talk', aside from your duty as my brother, have YOU let yourself imagine what you'd want normal to be, for you?"

He blurts out "Eileen... It's Eileen. I know she's out there somewhere, I felt a strange pang and it was relief." he's speaking so fast "She's back. My mind races at the possibilities, I haven't dared to let myself start. I'm not sure how I want to live but I know it has to be with Eileen"

"I'm calling a taxi. You have a serious phone call and some travel ahead. Older brother's orders. I'll do the blood suckers"

"Work again. Will you ever open up about what's been going on with you? You wouldn't even tell me how Cas summoned the Empty."

"I, uh, these things take time, more of an actions over words kinda guy. *stares at phone* Oh your taxi is two minutes out."

"I don't know what to say"

"You don't have to say anything, you already told me through all you've done. Text me when you arrive safely, or don't, if you're otherwise occupied"

"You're the worst. And the best." They hug

A car pulls up, Sam yells at Cas though the window that they'll talk soon and to keep Dean out of trouble. Cas gives him a thumbs up.

Dean gets back into the car after watching the taxi drive away until it's completely out of view. He hands the vamp case notes to Cas to read, instead Cas puts them aside on the seat. "It could be the six months, it could be the new body: this appears to be an empty copy, my host was spared the empty thankfully. Yes it could be the new body but you were right this pie is exactly to my taste"

"I don't want to know do I?"

"Indeed, you'd be mortified, it's a word you used a lot about your inner conflicts but, you've faced hell, I promise that voicing your thoughts isn't as terrible."

"Uh your coat and top are burned and falling apart, here have my jacket."

"I mean, voicing your feelings can get you sent to the empty but that's the worst case scenario"

"Nice. Reassuring." *goes quiet*

A phone dings, Cas pulls it out of the jacket. "You have a new message from Sam: "Eileen fine and well, two exclamation marks" aww, he's going to Eileen? She's wonderful isn't she? "meeting at station at 3am. Capital T, A L K and get answers from Cas you idiot skull emoji skull emoji laugh crying emoji"

"Vamps first... then I need a drink" Dean looks out of the window with a mixture of apprehension and giddiness, there's a small smile creeping across his lips that fades into seriousness, there's a flash of fear, then the smile returns with a tremor as if despite himself.

Various old friends are sat around in heaven: they reminisce, they can't know the boys future but they know it's nothing they can't handle, the senseless cruelty is over.

From all the characters in the books, Altair is my absolute favourite. He never fails to make me smile, and his banter with every single character is incredibly fun and entertaining✨️

So there are 2 versions because I like them both a lot. The white version fits him thematically, while I love the black version aesthetically. So yeah here are both of them lol

Just to know one of my favorite content creators better: What is your favorite AND your least favorite book and why?

Oh, god, I can’t really decide between The Cruel Prince, We Hunt the Flame, and Crooked kingdom as my favorite book. Why I love these 3 is because I love the fact that the characters live up to their characteristic descriptions. When the authors say this character IS cruel (for example), THEY ARE CRUEL and show it by their actions. I love the writing styles, and I love that these books are plot-focused because I honestly prefer fantasy books with romance as a side plot over fantasy romance books. Most fantasy romance books nowadays are mostly filled with smut, and I know that’s hypocritical coming from me who mainly draws Acotar but it’s the characters and the mad potential that some of Sjm‘s ships, plots, and her world-building has, that makes me so obsessed with this series, even when she‘s wasting that potential sometimes…

Some people might hate me for what I’m about to say, so I’m going to say this: I’m not shaming anyone who‘s a fan of that book. If you love it, go for it! I‘ve liked books that aren’t better anyway. It’s just my personal opinion!

That said, Zodiac Academy is the worst book I’ve read so far. I had someone asking me on IG if I could make fanart of the main characters but after reading it... I don’t think I ever will 😭 (Except if I’m paid). None of these characters are likable, the male characters kept on assaulting the mains in every horrible way, the writing is terrible, the twins are literally the same person, and lastly, what plot? The whole time I was just thinking about what I would do if I were one of the twins. I‘d either just k*ll myself and let those guys keep their powerful positions cause f*ck that, I lived my whole life without royalty anyway. Or I‘d teach myself all the powers that I supposedly have (YouTube is free, and I’m a self-taught artist), destroy the whole academy, and then k*ll myself off because NO WAY would I ever want to live there and let some sex offenders get anywhere near me 💀

tip: if someone asks for your age and it is necessary for them to know (generally in group chats or discord servers), you can just say either: I'm a minor / below 18. same goes for adults. if you don't want to reveal your exact age, just give a range e.g. 20+ or 30+ or say you're legally an adult.

Now this doesn't mean that everyone on the internet is out to get you in real life and is going to be a big bad scary adult. However, you, as young kids, are unable to differentiate between genuine people vs those who have ill intentions. Young kids tend to trust anyone who is friendly and grow attached to them, and because of this trust, sometimes you end up revealing things that should be kept to yourself. It all depends on the person you're chatting to, they can choose to take advantage of the information you may have given intentionally or unintentionally.

+ Once you are out of the schooling system and have a good amount of experiences and understanding of people, it is much more easier to "read" people. And at that stage of your life (generally around 18+), you are free to decide whether you are comfortable to share personal information about yourself to others.

Though sometimes, us adults, also mess up being able to judge true nature of people and suffer the consequences of it. It is rare, but it does happen.

Some unorganised thoughts related to this:

keep your bio or description simple. don't write your autobiography there or in your carrd (i've seen people make carrd these days). it gives away too much information about you to random strangers. your pseudo name, your likes and hobbies are more than enough.

when someone's bio says minors do not interact (MDNI), respect that and keep away. it's because we'd like to keep you safe and away from adult spaces that tend to have a lot of sexual content. plus, most adults feel uncomfortable to know that a 12 year old or a 13 year old may be scrolling through their very explicit content. and the reason why we tell you minors to keep away from sexual or explicit content is because: IT AFFECTS YOUR PERCEPTION OF REALITY. Porn most of the time is unrealistic and are fantasies of adults, if you young children consume sexual content it will warp your perception of how sex is supposed to work in real life. These things will be very hard to unlearn once you grow up and you will have unrealistic expectations towards your partner or s/o

try not to jump on random blaming bandwagons or fan the flames of some drama or argument. you may be attacked by others

keep away from cancel culture/expose culture/witch hunting. just don't. it's not cool and very tacky of you. one day, you'll look back at your past self and feel disgusted by this behaviour of yours. so save yourself the embarrassment and dont participate in this.

stay civil on the internet, no need to be aggressive to a random stranger when you can talk nicely. even if the other person is acting rude. just block, and walk away.

don't like something? don't read it. don't enjoy seeing some sort of fanart? just mute that character's name or ship name. or simply unfollow the person. don't yuck other's yumm. you don't have to make your displeasure towards someone's craft known. just move on with your life.

This post is specifically meant to help kids and emerging adults that were not taught what you might not want to share online.

The purpose of not sharing personal information is to make it more difficult to connect up information about you, and especially to make it difficult to connect the “you” online to the “you” offline. The reasons one may want to do this range from maintaining safe relationships outside of an abusive relationship, to making it harder to put together enough information to break into their bank account, to being actively concerned about doxxing and swatting.

For any of these reasons, if you’re not completely sure you will be fine having that information on the internet indefinitely, it’s best not to share it in the first place. The internet is full of turmoil, but we all know that some posts never die, and that others are archived.

Here’s some information that is generally considered a bad idea to share publicly or privately online, with the exception of applying for jobs or working with online financial and legal systems, and some strong alternatives.

Your full legal name, or any particularly distinctive part of your legal name. My first name has less than six hundred people with it in the States. I use a nickname on this blog for a reason. Nicknames are a great alternative to legal names.

Your birthday, especially if you also share your exact age. That allows for people to look for you based on your exact birth date, which is a very powerful piece of information. Unlike your legal name, there’s no way I know of to change it. Consider not sharing this at all. For age, “minor” or “adult” are all the information a reasonable person should need.

Your precise location. Big cities, like Tokyo, New York City, or London, have a high enough population to act as a bit of a smokescreen, but as a rule of thumb, stick to stating a local with at least a million people in it. I often just use my time zone, since it’s the main thing people need to know online.

There’s other information that is questionable to share openly online, particularly your personal phone number and email, but those are the three big pieces of information that it’s generally not a good idea to share either publicly or privately. This is because they can be plugged into background checkers and other databases to try to find you offline. The more information you share, the more someone can narrow down who you are. If that is something you are concerned about, consider following these guidelines about what not to share.
