in japanese his name is リシオン Rishion
So I imagine it would be like lee see on? You can put リシオン on google translate and make it say it out loud with the japanese voice if you're curious
#Lycion#ask#anonymous#I'm bad at sounding out words in english#translation#Like I didn't know english speakers were reading Falin like Failing and not fah lin#Cause the japanese pronunciation if often similar to portuguese (not perfectly similar but the sounds are often closer than english)#So I did just read leeseeon and fahlin cause I just go with the portuguese way of reading as default#we do read some words wrong tho cause we have more sounds than japanese#the worst one is how brazilians read anime#we go 'animi'#there's too many ways to read 'me' here and the japanese one isn't even the default#I gave up on saying it the right way LMAO#Sorry I'm just rambling now I like languages

DISCLAIMER: I HAVE NOT PROPERLY READ THE LIL LUCIFER AU. I AM WORKING PURELY OFF OF WHAT CC HAS SHOWN US AND WHAT I’VE LEARNED AB GABRIEL’S CHARACTER WHILE DIGGING THRU BRIGHTGOAT’S VARIOUS BLOG(S) & SKIMMING LL. U’VE BEEN WARNED.
i feel like we dont acknowledge just how menacing the character of gabriel truly is. for all us purely cc viewers, we know next to nothing about him other then he’s one: quite obviously the Archangel Gabriel (also mugs you IDIOT how can you not see that PLEASE /silly), two: weirdly fixated on mugman & mugman alone (we have not seen him interact meaningfully with ANY OTHER MAIN CAST CHARACTER in cc other then mugman except for once when he introduced himself to cups), and three: he does not mean mugsy well.
now, ik some of y’all’re gonna argue with me on that last point, but i feel like it’s pretty clear?? he baited mugs with the encohian, he has this menacing/condescending look on his face a good 40-50% of the time (ALL WHILE AROUND MUGS, MAY I ADD) and i think it’s quite obvious he’s behind the statue(?) disappearing in the recent comics.
and remember, we don’t even know WHY he turned up in the first place. the obvious/easy answer is that he/the archangels/only-God-knows-who (quite literally) noticed that mugsy was getting too close to “going rogue” when it came to wanting immortality, but the thing is, that just seems too easy.
1: Mortals who want immortality/fear death enough to do something… rash are, i’d bet, practically a dime a dozen, ESPECIALLY in the isles where immortal beings (devil, all the other lords of hell, the calix animi, etc. etc.) are, if not exactly the norm, then at least vaguely known of; so i doubt that ANY of the archangels’d “waste” one minute on some random mortal or another going insane with their want for immortality (like mugman seems to be on the path of.)
2: now, one COULD make the point that due to the fact that cuphead & mugman are both a: the last descendants of the Calix Animi, and b: people who’ve been revived over 100 times makes them “special cases” in the eyes of the Heavens Above - but that begs the question of why didn’t the archangels/heaven/God stop the Calix Animi from reviving people? revival is a form of immortality, after all, even if an unreliable one, and if them wanting to STOP mortals from accessing immortality was the reason Gabe approached mugs, then the whole Calix Animi would likely not have ever even existed. so it’s that’s not the reason
3: pointing a big fat thumb back at my earlier point of “why did Gabriel even become AWARE of Mugsy’s immortality problem in the first place”, i propose this: something happened. something Big. something that we did not see. cc’s pulled the missing scene trick before, after all, with the Mortal Blues comic strip, and so i propose that cc is pulling that trick AGAIN and that Mugman did Something Big to trigger getting an archangel’s (potentially multiple) attention(s) on him. what the hell did Mugman do, i don’t actually know, and nor do i have any concrete guesses, but i’m betting he did something, and that THAT something is what got Gabriel to approach him.
anyways, all this to say is I Do Not Like Nor Trust Gabriel (and neither should you), and am very scared indeed for what Camodiel has planned for my bbg mugsy :cri:

Don't mind me but can you plz rant about colly a lil more... :3
I'll do you one BETTER @ch1-kasak0
I'm gonna talk about Colly AND do an accidental Cuphead analysis on the side lmao
I will say, it is crazy to me that years ago, one of the reasons I had for why I didn't like the idea of Cupanny was because I perceived Fanny as someone un-ambitious, who seemed to have a bleak outlook and no real hope for a better future, something that was completely antithetical to what Cuphead needed in his life.
Obviously I don't hold that viewpoint about Fanny anymore, but I do think it's funny how that critique of mine (which I never shared on here I should add and I regret it lol) came back around but in an unexpected way. The Labyrinth arc was genuinely the deepest look we've gotten into Cuphead. With the thing that hit me the most stepping into Cuphead's dream and really seeing how much of himself is consumed by the guilt he feels about making a deal with the Devil, was how that guilt had basically consumed his personhood in a way.
Mugman dreams of being a pilot for the Calix Animi, of marrying Cala and having a whole, completed family; that his parents never left, that his dad was alive; Mugman dreamed of a future for himself. A fantasy that could never really be real, at least mostly, but it was a future nonetheless. Everyone, except Felix who's a special situation given his circumstances, dreamed of a future. Something that they were fighting towards even after they left the Labyrinth.
Except Cuphead.
He could never envision a future for himself, because so much of what made up who Cuphead was as a child was stripped from him that he's essentially a husk of who he was. We saw the real Cuphead in his dreamscape. He had aspirations, and goals he wanted to reach. But when your whole is spent struggling to survive it's hard to have real goals and aspire to them. It's hard to dream a dream that you hope comes true.
And then the gala happened.
Something that seemed out of reach for someone like himself suddenly seemed like a real, genuine reality within his reach. All because of his love for Holly. His love for her made him finally see a real future. A real dream. For one second, Cuphead didn't think about a bleak horizon that he was walking towards, but instead a beautiful sunrise that he wanted to walk towards hand-in-hand with Holly and it says a lot. It really does. In my Cuphead analysis I did say that his dream was still him in the background playing the role of Cuphead the Supporter rather than playing an active role in his own future where his own ambitions and drive exist alongside Holly's. But it doesn't detract from how much his love made him see something that for the longest he never saw as possible and that means something. It really does.
But oh, bitch I'm not even done yet. Y'all asked for this!!!
There's this one scene, I'm too lazy to go back and find it again (EDIT: I couldn't find it for some reason so my source is trust me bro), where Cuphead and Holly, and maybe Mugs was there I think, were talking and Holly said something along the lines of "I like your childish side" (paraphrasing). And that stuck with me, because when, in the other previous relationships that Cuphead had, has he ever been told that being his actual true self is the part they like the most about him? That the sulking badboy persona who's all rough edges and mysterious isn't nearly as interesting as the real him.
The thing I think a lot of people sort of forget, is that for Cuphead it's not a persona, it's just who he is. Because everything else has been stripped from him via abuse and threats to himself and his brother. From unethical experiments forced on him as punishment, to beatings from the boss when they screw up a job, to being yelled and cursed out by Hat because they messed up during training, and so on. So much of who he is, who he was, was taken from him and all that's left is whatever identity Cuphead needs to put on in that exact moment. Mugman was right when he said that for Cuphead, it's always about the damn mission. Keeping him and his brother safe, desperately trying to right his wrongs, and just trying to not have anyone see his weaknesses means the Cuphead we saw before in the Labyrinth is a ghost. Someone else entirely. A speck in the distance that feels entirely out of reach now to Cuphead.
But there's this part of him that he's tried to keep safe and held close and we see that in the Wonderful Winter arc. When Cuphead and Mugman started chasing each other, throwing snowballs at one another, it's the closest we get to seeing Cup in a light where he's not putting on a persona; the real him. And Holly notices that, too. But not just that she notices that, but that she is intrigued by it enough that she wants to get to know him more.
Holly had a crush on Cuphead, but the Tree Princess chapter is where she really fell for him. Which makes sense cause that's the chapter where she truly realizes the depth there is to his character and how multifaceted he was as a person. He wasn't just a killer thug like she'd first assumed, but a true complex person, just like her and all the other Questers.
And I think that's fucking beautiful man.
Of course I'd love to gush about Cuphead's perspective on Holly, but there's not really enough to say outside of:
You know it's true love when you're willing to spill all your secrets to this one person; to bear your whole heart and soul to them if it means being able to have them back in your life.

Joel Miller x f!reader smut. Inspired by this comment by @miss-mandalorian
Dressing Up
"You have got to be shitting me!" Ellie's voice rang out through the partially dilapidated store.
Joel cracked a smile in your direction. Things between them hadn't been great. They wouldn't talk about why. It's wasn't your business to ask but you couldn't just let it go on.
A week ago you came out this way on patrol and stumbled across this place. As well as it reawakening your own long forgotten obsessions, you knew Ellie would love it. Maybe her happiness would soften her towards Joel. She had practically fallen over herself to get inside when she saw the comic book store. Once inside she only grew more excited. Forgetting herself she even grabbed Joel's arm to drag him over to her favourite comics. "Look at all these! They're all perfect. They were kept in these little bags. Weird but so fucking cool."
Half an hour later, Ellie had finally found the keys to the backroom. You and Joel had raided the food section while you waited. Joel had even found some coffee. It was Japanese, with a animie character on the front, but it was coffee.
"Check this out!" Ellie appeared from behind the counter. Well, it sounded like Ellie. It looked like a character from one of her Savage Starlight comics.
"Endure and Survive!" It shouted as it leaped from one side of the counter to the other. When it slipped making another leap, it removed it's mask and return it it's Ellie form.
"You guys, there's toys and costumes. We need to take some back for the kids. They'll go apeshit. There's grown up costumes too! Did you ever dress up?" She sat on the counter eagerly awaiting your response.
"Once or twice." You smiled at the memory of comic cons past.
"Joel?" She asked. He seemed surprised and relieved to be included in the conversation.
"Nope. This wasn't my thing." He told her.
"You never dressed up at Halloween for…fun." Ellie caught herself before she mentioned Sarah.
"No. I have never dressed up. For anything." Joel firmly shook his head.
Ellie shot you a look before scrambling to get to the backroom.
"Looks like you are dressing up." You teased him.
"No, I'm not." He came to stand by your side. His arm pressed against yours. Showing affection when Ellie was around was still relatively new. He'd wanted to keep things between you private. His fingers just began to lace with yours when she appeared with a few costumes in her arms.
"Here." Ellie grinned triumphantly. She was so pleased with herself, she completely missed the little squeeze Joel gave your hand before he moved forward.
Humouring her, he sifted through the bags. There was a blue alien, some sort of space pirate complete with metal eyepatch, the last one was some sort of space armour.
"Hunter." He heard you breathe as he got to the space armour. He didn't miss the slight flush on your cheeks but he pretended to.
"What even are these?" He asked Ellie.
"This guy is a trader." She pointed to the blue alien. "This guy." She pointed to the space pirate. "Is a morally ambiguous space bandit and this guy…" She pointed to the metal looking suit. "...is a mysterious bounty hunter."
"What makes him so mysterious? The mask?" Joel prodded, watching you out of the corner of his eye.
"Kind of. He never takes it off, not even the girl that loves him has seen his face. No one knows his name. They just call him Hunter because, you know, bounty hunter. In the newer comics he has to help this kid and everyone sees that he's not just a skilled killer, he's really a good guy…it was a fun arc." Ellie grinned at recalling the comic Joel had climbed down a hole in the floor, into a basement to get for her.
Even though he was distracted by the smile Ellie was finally giving in his direction he saw the blush on your face spread further.
"So who did you dress up as?" She turned her attention to you.
"Erm…a character from a vampire show and…er…Captain Annabelle Croft." You avoided Joel's quizzical gaze.
"Hunter's girlfriend?" Ellie chucked before jumping off of the counter and shoving the Hunter costume into Joel's arms. She walked off laughing to grab some decades old comic book themed candy.
It was Joel's turn to blush. He opened his mouth to say something before the sound of Clickers cut him off.
The warm water of Joel's shower was just what you needed after having to climb through two buildings to pick of the last of the infected this morning. Luckily, the comic book store was only a short ride from Jackson. It was on the patrol route of a couple of older guys who just didn't get the significance of it. It was only when Tommy asked you to cover that you found out about it. Climbing out of the tub, you made your way to Joel's room in your bath robe. Ellie had made it suspiciously clear that she wouldn't be near the house tonight so you left your things on his bed.
The door to Joel's room was open, you know you left it closed so he must have been in there. When it was clear he wasn't still there you began to undo your robe.
"Don't move." Joel's voice gritted out behind you.
"What?" His direction confused you. Your body instantly reacted, it froze in place, your breathing slowed, your ears searched for sounds of infected. Your mind knew you were safe here.
"I have orders to bring you in dead or alive." Joel continued.
That was the point when you turned around to come face to face with Hunter. The laughter that peeled out of you was uncontrollable. Joel's own laughter, muffled as it was, joined it. Removing the mask he smiled at you. "That sound was definitely worth strapping all this on. It even got me an hour of no shit from Ellie. I might keep the suit."
Finally calming down, you took Joel in. The amour plates accentuated his muscle thighs, his solid chest and broad shoulders.
"Maybe you could keep it on for a little while longer." Your fingers traced lightly over his chest plate.
"You like it, huh?" He smirked.
Taking his hand, you removed his glove before pressing his hand between your legs.
"Oh, you really like it." He groaned against your neck as he pressed kisses to it while he slipped his fingers inside of you.
"Joel? Erm…helmet?" You blushed at your own request.
Thankfully, the helmet covered the shit eater grin he gave you. You were definitely going to hear about that later. With his fingers stretching you and his thumb on your clit, you didn't even care.
"Look at you. I bet you'd let me cuff you and take you back for the reward the King has for me, as long as I kept doing this. Dirty little thing." Joel teased.
Your inner fangirl squealed as your inner walls gripped him. Joel had actually learned about the character. In the comics he had met his love when she was a bounty he was assigned by the king of a small planet. He definitely didn't make her come on his fingers embarrassingly quickly in the comics.
Joel slipped his fingers out and under the rim of the helmet to lick them clean. "Maybe this is a better reward. You got anything else for me?"
The words were barely out when you were on your knees for him. The zip of his jumpsuit was down and his cock was in your mouth in seconds.
"Jesus!" Joel exclaimed. The helmet almost came off of his head at the speed of which he threw his head back.
"I take it back. The way you suck dick is worth more than any reward." He chuckled as he threaded his fingers into your hair. They rested there as your head bobbed up and down on his length. Your split rolling down over his balls made them easier to manipulate in your hands as you massaged them. Joel's gripped tightened as he urged you off of him.
"I want to feel that little pussy around my cock before I come." He helped you up as he spoke.
Not being able to kiss him was a little strange so you pressed a kiss to his ungloved hand.
"If I let you fuck this pussy with you let me go?" You asked, dropping your robe.
"I'll be honest. I don't know. I might just have to keep you for myself." He surged forward and grabbed you against his chest. You giggled as you turn him toward the bed. "Sit up, at the headboard."
He did as he was told before you straddled his lap. His groan echoed around his helmet as you sunk all the way down on to him.
"Maybe I should run. Then you'd have to catch me and cuff me." You panted as you began to ride him.
Joel picked up what your were putting down real quick. He grabbed you hands in his, holding them behind your back. He used his grip on you to help you bounce on him. The next few minutes were an intense mix of skin slapping on skin, the wet sound of Joel's girth sliding in and out and your collective moans as you rode him with all your worth. Joel did enough for you but Joel dresses as your favourite fantasy had you feral.
"I don't think I need to hold you. You ain't running anywhere. Not away from a fucking like this." He let go of your hands allowing you to grip his headboard and bouncing even harder on him.
"You want me to give up my bounty? Then you better come for me. Soak my cock." His dirty words were enough to push you over the edge you'd been balanced on pretty much since he entered you.
"Oh fuck, yes! You feel so good, Baby." He groaned as your pussy tried to milk him. "Oh shit." He pulled out, your hand joining his jerked him a few times before he shot his load. Some of it spurting as high as your breasts.

Cuphead Theory: Cupbros’ parents and Kettle’s relatives are Sailors and died sailing
This theory will have minor spoilers for the comics!
So in Chilly Thriller we see these photos on the wall
What’s interesting is these photos are in full color. Color photography until 1935 looked something along the lines of this:
So they’re still alive? Where are they, then? My theory:
They’re sailing around the world to spread the word of the Calix Animi.
So, the Inkwell Isle III has a ton of ports for importing and exporting goods, as seen in the overworld map and Perilous Piers. It would make sense sailing is common knowledge. It would explain Mugman’s interest in pirates in the Show (although there’s no trace of it in the comic Ship Shenanigans, replaced by rather Cuphead’s enthusiasm). It also explains why Cuphead and Mugman just have a ship at the ready in Siren Smackdown.
Side note that I’m too dumb to somehow tie in with the rest of the theory properly: Interestingly, there’s a comic in Runaway Regrets where Cuphead and Mugman WANT to go off an travel town to town but they hear all the hardships from Mac and decide they don’t like it. Possible contrast between the brothers and their parents?
But where did they go?
Yeah… This definitely makes Cala even more messed up. Also, this might possibly be why Brineybeard has a tanker with a picture of a cup on it in Swashbuckle Strife.
(An image, which of in itself, seems to reference the show, with the parrot, picture of Cala, and Brineybeard starting the day by drinking coffee.)
So yeah there’s my theory. RIP.

animus magic rewrite/restructure (or at least an attempt)
so first, the problems
not enough rules and very overpowered
the one rule is that you can’t bring a dragon back from the dead, but honestly idk if i even trust this one
bc darkstalker also said you can’t make an animus, but you CAN make an animus so maybe you can bring someone back from the dead too idk
regardless, this is not enough of a limit. in fact, this isn’t a limit at all
my plan to fix it
assign “stages” or “levels” of animus power
propose a more concrete idea as to how animus power works
rework the whole soul thingy,,
???
profit.
stages/levels/classes?? maybe
stick with me as this may get messy/complicated/confusing. i will try my best
there’s elemental magic that’s split between the tribes (i realize this is very avatar esque but just like,, go with it,, avatar doesn’t own elemental magic and avatar is also great)
skywings can have air and fire magic
mudwings can have fire, earth, or water magic
seawings and icewings can have water magic (different forms)
nightwings and sandwings can have fire magic
(we come back to rainwings later)
the base idea with elemental magic is: if a skywing is born with air magic, it is considered a veryyyyy low level of being an animus
it’s relatively common but not super super common, a medium level of common i suppose
the next level up would be a skywing having air AND fire magic, which is much less common
then the next level is a skywing having air AND fire AND another element that’s considered outside of their tribe (ie water)
any elemental magic is considered pretty low level though and is more common relative to the other types of magic
other types of magic: healing, illusion, divination, enchantment, alchemy, nature magic
nature magic is common among rainwings + leafwings, it’s their version of elemental magic, but it’s uncommon amongst the other tribes
leafspeak is a form of very powerful nature magic
divination is common among nightwings, even those not directly born under the moons
moon-born dragonets aren’t the most common, so usually when one is hatched they work for the queen
so more common divination magic is what a normal dragon will go to
like tarot and scrying
possessing any of these types of magics is MUCH MORE rare
a “true” animus (like the ones we see in the series) would have to possess enchantment, alchemy, and illusion magic at minimum, which is why they’re so rare
there’s only been a few “true” animi because being an animus is the top level of power (darkstalker, albatross, jerboa,,,)
side note that idk where to really put but uh,,, animi have to train. like anemone in the second book. they are not just hatched all powerful. i think animus magic really lost some of its,, well,,, magic,, in the later books
the soul thingy,,
i think there is the basis for something good here. now hear me out. let me cook.
my idea: everytime an animus enchants something, part of themselves is imbued in that object in order to make it work
part of a “soul”? not really, because souls are not concrete objects and i think it gets really up in the air and weird abt morality and stuff
but memories
a memory slips from the animi’s mind and is implanted into that object, which gives the object a little bit of sentience and the power of the enchantment
this doesn’t happen with all types of magic, but it is NECESSARY for enchantment and alchemy
basically, the knife darkstalker enchanted to kill an icewing every full moon had some memory from darkstalker
memory implantation also allows for the enchantment of other dragons. the enchanter’s memory is now IN the enchanted dragon and the memory is implementing the enchanter’s will over the enchanted dragon
that’s why animi go crazy. parts of their lives are slipping out of their claws, and the more they enchant, the more they forget, the less they are themselves
also, spells often cause physical symptoms
dizziness, headaches, fainting, seizures, nose bleeds, nasuea, etc etc
severity of the symptom depends on intensity of the spell
healing a dragon’s cold? a little bit dizzy. healing their broken limb? yeah you’re gonna pass out buddy.
(trying to revive them from the dead? you might end up dead yourself bud)
it’s still a little rough around the edges i know, but uhh yeah
i am aware that this is unfinished, unpolished, rough around the edges, etc but i like it as a framework. i wanted to add in more magic into the world (which i feel like i accomplished with the levels) and also give some actual limitations to real animi (the memory loss, sickness, etc). i am SO OPEN TO MORE SUGGESTIONS. PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR SUGGESTIONS. hit up my inbox my dms my reblogs my anything!! i want more people’s ideas and eyes on this in order to like. make it GOOD

Memoir of an Albatross
Chapter 3 - Selling One's Soul
[1] [2] [3] [4]
(Art by Loquatic)
Chapter Description: Years after that traumatic day, Albatross finds himself preoccupied with his thoughts in the library. Life, while not certainly great, could be a lot worse. Princess Lagoon seems to believe otherwise.
Animus magic: a concept that seems far too mystical and powerful to be a reality, and yet here we are, living among dragons with endless potential. Spellcasters. Gods with grand, sacred blood in their veins. Reality bends to their will. At a mere thought, a mere enchantment, they can do anything.
And that terrified Albatross. He was afraid. He knew what it– what he was capable of.
Nothing had been the same since the incident on the beach. A few minutes after Albatross had saved Sapphire, royal guards swooped down to investigate. They saw the blood-stained water and found the dragonets there. Had he hesitated, Sapphire would've bled out entirely before they arrived.
Even if she survived, she was gone. For four years, he only had one sister. She was sent off to a cave far off in the corner of the Sea Kingdom. Hidden. A shameful secret forever locked away.
Sapphire since the incident was rendered "useless" in the eyes of her parents. She couldn't write anymore. She couldn't fight or defend herself as she needed assistance to hold spears. Since it happened, she had been isolating herself and lashing out more. Queen Gannet insisted that it was her going mad. That Albatross harming her in such a violent and drastic way had destroyed her mind.
He remembered watching Sapphire when she had an outburst. Her eyes held a look he knew all too well. She was lucid. Sane. She was afraid. Scared. Full of spite and anger at her circumstances. She was trying to cope.
But, she was a liability to the kingdom in their mother's eyes. And now she's gone.
The story that their parents have been telling the masses is that Sapphire had an incident with a shark. They knew the truth. But, they couldn't tell the public. That would have tainted their reputation. Imagine what the dragons, SeaWings and other tribes alike, would have thought. The SeaWings have found their animus, but it was discovered through mutilating another. It would have tainted their perfect reputation, the image that their mother, Queen Gannet, had built.
Because of Albatross, he had ruined Sapphire's life. She would've become queen. She would've lived a nice, happy life. All because he overreacted. She probably didn't mean it when she said all those things. She was playing around. Trying to scare him. She didn't mean it. It's...it's all his fault.
He had since then buried himself in research into animus magic. It was the one thing he could do. These days, he found himself in the complicated hallways of the Deep Palace library, sifting through scroll after scroll. The guards gave him strange looks. Most weren't aware of the truth either. They had only known the fabricated lie that Queen Gannet told everyone. He couldn't care less. He needed to learn more about this curse of his.
Frustratingly enough, the scrolls said little about it other than surface-level observations and myths. Magic powers that could be passed on through generations. The only tribes who currently have their magic are the SandWings and IceWings, as the SkyWings had genocided their own animi many moons ago. Rightfully fearful of what they could do.
The magic seemed limitless. Animi could transmute rocks into precious gemstones, manipulate the minds of others, and hypothetically cataclysmic destruction. For as much as the IceWings love to flaunt their glorious wall built from little more than the imagination and will of an animus, there were just as many tales of mad animus dragons. Ones who caused an upheaval in the Sky Kingdom. Ones who've brought chaos.
And here was little Albatross, who was still too scared to look at his talons for fear that the blood of Sapphire was still stained on them.
He refused to use his magic since that day. Constantly he was trying to regulate and control his thoughts. Even thinking about casing a spell would do it. He was anxious that one day he would have one stray thought, get caught up in his own emotions when all of a sudden boom! The whole palace- the whole world explodes. Would it be possible? Probably given that there doesn't seem to be any rules or restraints for this magic.
The only drawbacks of animus magic were two things: a myth about the magic draining the soul of the user, corrupting them and twisting them into some evil, horrid version of themselves, and another tale of animi losing physical parts of themselves. Some sort of physical impairment. They're rare and only happen to the ones who use their magic the most, however.
Albatross already decided that he would never use his magic again for the rest of his life. There was no amount of convincing somebody could put him through to make him. Absolutely nothing.
Then, from behind him, he heard the sound of shifting water.
Maybe he was just more jumpy since the incident, but he could've sworn his hearing had gotten better. Even if it was a dead silent room, he could almost always make out some sort of white noise. The movement of fish around him. The heavy pressure of the water. Even his own heartbeat and breathing.
He heard that noise loud and clear; so much so that he knew exactly who it was.
Albatross. The bright glow of Lagoon's bioluminescent scales lit up in the corner of his eye. Being underwater, their vocal cords can't exactly work. Brilliantly enough, they had a solution for this. Using their scales, they could light up certain parts of their body, communicating in a language dubbed "aquatic".
Albatross was never particularly gifted with it– his scales never quite lit up as well as the average SeaWing– but it worked in a pinch. Hopefully whatever Lagoon wanted to say was quick. Some half-hearted jest tossed his way before swimming back with her tail between her legs.
He turned to face her, still clutching his scroll. Do you need something? He flashed his neck and tail scales.
Was I interrupting you? Her response was explicitly passive-aggressive.
No, I-
It doesn't matter anyway. She waved her talons, dismissing him. We have a bigger problem.
...we do?
Yes! Of course, you kelp-brained- She paused, collecting herself. Sorry. I'm rather emotional.
Aren't you always?
Don't joke right now, this is serious! It's about Sapphire. Her scales dimmed at that last part.
His eyes widened. What do you mean?
You can't tell me you agree with what happened to her, right?
He looked down at his claws. A feeling of guilt washed over him. No, I don't.
Obviously, yeah. It's the right way to feel about it.
And you just wanted to make sure I was feeling the 'right way' about it? he asked.
Lagoon hesitated. Her eyes looked past him. Of course not! Don't be ridiculous. I'm only having a conversation with you. Why would you think of me like that?
I wasn't! Just... Albatross rubbed his eyes. Get to the point. Please.
Sapphire doesn't deserve this. Lagoon began to pace back and forth. How heartless could our parents be?! Sapphire isn't mad. You and I both know this. She was only hurt by you cutting off all of her claws. She was scared because of it. Because of it, now she's on some distant island. She glanced back at Albatross. You know exactly what this is.
Albatross blinked.
Tyranny! Lagoon answered for him. This is exactly the sort of thing that we learned about in ruling lessons. Learning from the horrible monarchs of the past and how their mistakes eventually led to their downfall. Being too reckless with orders, exploiting their own citizens for personal benefit, making random and rash decisions that end up harming the tribe in the end, you know all that stuff.
No, I don't. I'm a prince. I don't take these lessons.
Well, perhaps you should. Even if you'll never be king, you're still royalty. Perhaps when I'm queen I'll implement it as a new rule.
He scoffed. Yeah, in a couple decades that is.
Lagoon cracked a cocky smirk like she had been waiting for him to say it. Well, what if we didn't have to wait that long?
What? Wait. Wait... No, nononono, you aren't thinking it, are you? You are. You definitely are.
Lagoon nodded. C'mon, brother! All I have to do is challenge her to the throne, win, and then we can get her back.
You're only six years old! Not even an adult yet!
Uh-huh, and?
You're suggesting that you kill our mother, Lagoon.
Never in a million years had Albatross thought he would see a dragon challenge the throne, much less Lagoon. And yet, he wasn't terribly surprised to see her suggest it.
Lagoon detested Queen Gannet the moment she hatched from the egg. Hushed whispers that only grew more intense and angry as the years went on. Critical of every tiny choice she made, insisting that, had she been in the same position, she would've gone for the other, "better" option.
Albatross found it to be petty garbled nonsense when he was younger. He saw it as little more than Lagoon being haughty and believing herself to be more intelligent and proper than their mother. Her ego blinded her. Their mother was only a dragon after all. Prone to the same mistakes as anybody else. He felt pity when she was forced with a tough decision while Lagoon snorted and went on about how she obviously should have done something else.
These days though? He was upset at Queen Gannet. Not angry per se– he hated the idea of feeling such a strong, malicious emotion with his capabilities– but rather solemn disapproval. Denial and distraught that she could do such a thing to Sapphire. She was scared! She was dealing with trauma from that awful day.
He knew she wasn't right to rule the moment she abandoned Sapphire. Exiled her to isolation. And for what? Appearances? Shame? Fear that every dragon on Pyrrhia would look down on her for allowing her own deformed son to mutilate the heir to her throne? Whatever it may be, he couldn't forgive her.
But he couldn't imagine Lagoon being any better. He didn't need to consult a NightWing prophet to see that.
Hellloooooo? Lagoon flashed her scales exceedingly bright. Am I boring you or what?
Albatross shook his head. Sorry, I was thinking about things.
Like what, exactly? She snorted.
That this is a terrible idea.
What?! Lagoon's scales were harsh. They agitated Albatross's eyes. What do you mean?
You're...six! You're young! How could you even suggest that?
Look. Lagoon took a deep breath. What is the alternative?
He paused. We...wait another three decades? Maybe four? Five?
Exactly! That's the issue! Our mother needs to be taken out.
Why? Why does she need to?
Lagoon narrowed her eyes. Her scales brightened. Don't kid yourself here, brother. You KNOW what she's done. She's terrible! Awful! By the tides, she's the worst queen this kingdom has seen. Her relations with the SkyWings and MudWings are atrocious. Don't even get me started on the RainWings. If she is in power for another year, given how things are, we'll be at war.
That's ridiculous, Lagoon.
Is it? She snapped. Is it really? Look. It's simply awful. I need your help. I know I'm weak, but I know I will be a better ruler than our mother. She's erratic and impulsive. Me? I'm calm. Collected. She noticed Albatross's scales begin to light up. And don't you dare accuse me of not being that! You know I've changed since we were dragonets.
He stayed silent.
Not to also mention that very incident itself... Moons above, if the public knew about what our mother had done to our sister, our very own Princess Sapphire, she'd been dragged out into the streets and gutted. She's monstrous. For that reason alone, she should be dead.
I don't know...
Albatross. You of all dragons should know what it feels. You were the one who did this to her.
He visibly flinched. Any mention of that event always sent a shock through his system. Even if the moment had long since passed, those memories were fresh in his mind. He couldn't get those screams and all that blood out of his head.
So, what will you do? Lagoon asked. Are you just going to stand there and let our tyrannical mother continue her oppressive rule, or will you help me? The choice is pretty simple to me. Either be useless while your sister rots away because of what you've done to her, or at least try to make up for it by killing her. Once I'm queen, I'll do everything in my power to bring her back. I promise.
He looked up into her eyes. You promise?
She grinned. Of course.
He exhaled. Fine. What do you need?
Lagoon's barely contained excitement showed through her scales and swishing tail. Okay, okay. I just need you to enchant...this! She pulled off a pearl bracelet. Enchant this to make it so that I will win any battle I face against with no real harm done to my body. She placed it into Albatross's talons.
He looked at the string of pearls. They glistened in the low lighting. I'm not so sure about this... A pit formed in his stomach. It had been so long since he last used it. He had vowed never to again.
Oh come on! One little spell won't hurt! After this, no more magic, okay?
Albatross clenched his talons into a fist. He repeated the exact spell that Lagoon had told him. She would win any battle with little damage done to her.
The tips of his claws tingled as he made the spell. The bracelet carried a new energy to it, one that he felt uncomfortable to be near. Animus enchantments tended to have that effect, wherein anything that had a spell on it held an ominous and strange aura of wrongness. This time, it was faint.
He pawed it off to Lagoon. There. Take it. It's done.
How do I know you've done it?
I have. Just go. I don't want to see what happens. Just...tell your guards to spread the message of her death once it happens. He turned back to the scrolls. I'd rather not see for myself what happens.
Lagoon dipped her head. You have my word. Thank you, Albatross. She smiled as she swam off.
Albatross watched as she disappeared back into the palace. He felt positively terrible. His scales felt slimy and uncomfortable to be in. How could he do something like that? Once before, he had used his magic to almost kill Sapphire. Now? He's using it to kill his very own mother. How could he do that?
...well, there was the slight, tiny chance that he would be redeemed. That, maybe, this was the last time he would ever use it. That, soon enough, things would return to some sort of normalcy. He would be treated like a normal dragon, animus magic or not. That was what he had hoped for the future. It must be what happens.

The First Meeting
Fair warning this is my first time writing any kind of fanfic so they may be a little out of character
When He woke up that morning, Cuphead knew that it was going to be a difficult day, His brother had spent the past two weeks trying to find a box that contained the old books that Elder Kettle had read to them but after looking through every single shelf, chest, and closet it became clear that it wasn’t anywhere in the apartment.
“I just dont understand where they could be? We have the fairytales and the photo books but where are the rest of them?” Mugman had shouted exasperated by the restless search “The only written version of Calix animi legends and they’re not a single place in this damned apartment! I know we packed them up! Where are they?!”
“well…. If they’re not here then….what if we left them at….The house? Maybe…maybe I forgot to take it down from the attic when we made the last trip…” Cuphead said scratching the back of his head nervously “I did almost forget to grab some of the clothes boxes… maybe we should check it? I mean…if they’re not anywhere in the apartment it might at least be worth the trip just to make sure that it’s not missing”
“….huh….are you sure that….you’re up for that? Seeing the house again?”
“…”
——————————————————-
*Knock Knock knock* “Mugs? You awake up yet—
The door opened revealing a completely dressed Mugman in the doorway
“Never mind looks like your ready, let’s head out” Cuphead said, heading to put on his shoes, stopping to pat Dasiy on the head
“hold down the fort while we’re gone okay little guy? Don’t need anyone poking their noses where they don’t belong.”
It would be a long bus ride from the City to the Woods, then a notable walk to get to the House…thankfully they both already knew the path well enough from the years of play in those Woods
“Best to head out early, I do have to meet with professor Gabriel this evening” Mugman stated grabbing this bag
“ugh please tell me your not meeting here again..” Cuphead groaned over his shoulder
“We’re meeting at the library Cuphead, and it would be nice to have you come with. Can’t ever have enough help with the research. Besides Gabriel has been nothing but helpful, maybe those legends will have some answers, all legends have at least some truth to them.” Mugs stated opening the door. “After you”
——————————————————
The path had become overgrown throughout the years, coming almost up to their knees and the rain that had begun to fall wasn’t much help
“whew…. Never thought much of the walk when we were kids huh?” Cups grinned tired from trip so far “always felt so easy to run place to place”
*Mugman chuckled* “Yes well running from government officials every few weeks isn’t really a good exercise regamie”
“Well I guess it’s easier if one thi—
Elder kettle’s cottage had come into view…garden overgrown with weeds and windows dirty and dusty but despite that…it still felt like home…like coming back to where they were supposed to be
*CRACK*
“oh geez it’s really starting to pour, Mugs you got the key ready?” Cuphead said as they reached the door
“yes I have it right here— hold the umbrella steady!”
“I’m trying to! unlock the door the door alrea—-
*Creeaaak* The second they put weight on the door it opened, causing them both to catch a glimpse of a small silhouette disappearing up the stairs.
“…”
“…”
*Cuphead quickly pushed the door completely open, rushing inside* “Nononono—- did someone break in?!”
“Cuphead don’t rush in—
The inside was a mess…stray papers had been thrown around and there was a claw mark on the living room wallpaper and some dried dark red liquid on the floor leaving a trail upstairs. Which they quickly followed, finding that it led to the same room they had slept in as children. Dust covers had been placed on the beds and the nightstand had been tipped over.
They could hear small panicked breathing coming from underneath the right bed, nodding to each other they slowly lifted the dust cover and looked at the figure underneath it
“….is-…is that a kid?” Cuphead said quietly…bewildered.
“Come…come on out… don’t worry we…we aren’t going to hurt you” Mugman whispered kneeling down slightly, slowly pulling the kid out from under the bed and helping them stand upright.
The kid….the kid wasn’t in good shape, even with what little they could see. its fur was dirty and stuck together with dried blood in areas, its right knee was scraped and scabbed over. It had bad bruising on the right side of its head along with a long irritated scar over its left eye. It was wearing what at some point in time would have been a very nice looking white dress. All in all, it was clear that they weren’t in good shape.
“oh….oh my god…”
*CRACK* Another loud clap of thunder and a bright flash of lightning cause the kid to wince and try to hid under the bed again.
“aahhh…no its okay! Uh…” Cuphead ran over to the windows and pulled the shutters completely closed and turned the lights on “See? All gone!”
“Okay…now…little…girl?…whats your name?” Mugman said, trying to kept a calm tone
The girl turned her head away from him seemingly scared
“I don’t…I don’t know…”
Oh Oh that wasn’t good
“okay….do you know how to got here? Do you know where you are?” Cuphead tried asking
The girl shook her head “no….”
“okay…..do….do you know how you got so hurt?” Mugman tried, hoping for an answer this time
The girl just shook her head again more upset “I don’t know!”
The brothers looked at each other sharing the exact same concerns
“okay…okay first things first….how about we get you patched up a bit okay?” Cuphead said leading her out of the bedroom. “Mugs can you get first aid kid from the closet? You know more about this than me”
“Al—alright…”
———————————————————
The girl had thankfully stayed still while they tried to clean up the open wounds. Being patched up made it easier for her to move around, now they just needed to decide what to do next.
“so….we’re bringing back to the apartment with us right?” Cuphead asked once they stepped out of earshot of the girl
“What we can’t just do that….*sigh* we should contact the police, let them know we found a kid with memory loss in the woods…” Mugman said trying to rationalize it
“Well yeah! But the kids gotta stay somewhere and you and I both know that the foster system in Inkwell isn’t….great…we do have a spare room, it’s small but still a room, we can just keep an eye on the kid until her family comes forward and brings her back home” Cuphead tried to explain
“Okay I’ll admit, the foster system wouldn’t be a good idea, but between my research and our work are we going to be home enough to justify taking in an amnesiac kid?” Mugs continued
“I could pick up fewer shifts, maybe we change our schedules so that only one of us is working at a time? We could figure it out”
“…*sigh* fine…I guess we could figure out the finer details in the morning…it’s late enough already…we should get her to a proper place to sleep” Mugman said, slowly deciding to leave at this for a bit.
“alright….let head out then”
———————————————————
The rain had stopped by the time they left the House, revealing a bright starry night sky and crickets chirping as they walked.
“so….what should we call you little missy?” Mugman asked as they made their way to the Bus station. “We could try and come up with something if you wanted?”
The girl nodded brightening up and grinning widely
“Well you just perked up like a flower in sunny weather huh?” Cups joked “Probably the most expressive you’ve been with us so far”
The girl started giggling at that “Sunny! Sunny!” She said in a sing-song voice
Mugman chuckled a bit “huh….well…you do hate stormy weather, I guess it wouldn’t be the worse name to have for you. What do you think? Would you like for us to call you Sunny while you’re with us?”
The Girl nodded “I like it! It’s my name now!”
“Well then it’s settled. Sunny it is!”
——————————————————
”okay now do try and kept your voice down, when we enter okay Sunny? Daisy is pretty skittish and we don’t want it scare them” Mugman whispered opening the apartment door, showing the Daisy was still awake sitting on the sofa. peering over and curiously staring at the girl.
“um…hello” Sunny said nervously waving a bit.
The Daisy looked at her and nodded as they walked in all together.
“Alright…first things first we should probably get you out of that…I’m saying dress? And have you change into something else….” Cups said, kicking off his shoes and heading into the bathroom and starting to fill up the tub “I think we have some old pajamas that would fit you, I can grab them…you prefer stars or polka dots?”
“Um….polka dots…” Sunny said looking around at the apartment curious.
“Well, I found some spare pillows and blankets, so you’ll be able to sleep alright tonight. Now I’ve got to call Gabriel and let him know that something came up and I’m not going to be able to meet up for research for a while” Mugman said, spreading the blankets and pillow out on the couch, before leaving and heading into his room.
“Night mugs.” Cuphead said walking back into the living room “Sunny the bath is ready you can head in now, the pajamas are in the bathroom too”
Sunny nodded heading in ———————————————————
“okay now what would should I give her to eat…..let’s see….thats gone bad…that’s gin…that whiskey….oh there we go…” Cuphead mumbled grabbing a paper bag and opening it.
“Hmm….Sunny here try this” Cups handed her a soft pretzel, watching as she turned it in her hands a couple times. “You gotta bite it Sunspot, that’s how eating works”
Sunny looked at it for another second…before biting into it and chewing a bit
“there we go! Not bad right? It’s from this bakery couple blocks from here, I could take you tomorrow if you’d like?”
Sunny nodded, finishing it the rest of it quickly.
Cuphead looked at the Clock “huh…well…guess we should both go to sleep huh?” He picked her up and placed her on the sofa pulling the blanket up over her and tucking her in.
“now if you need anything me and mugs will be just down the hall, knock on the either of the doors if you need anything okay Sunny?”
Sunny looked at him and nodded “okay I will”
“Goodnight Sunny, sleep tight and don’t let the bedbugs bite”
———————————————————
and that’s it! Lemme know what you thought about it! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Omegamon vs Diaboromon - "Digimon: Our War Game"
As Kid I was a huge Digimon Fan. And yer, I liked pokemon too, but this TV show blew Aah, Pikachu and the gang right out of the water. It had story arcs, and progression, great characters and huge set peice moments. And then the movie came out and I simply adored it, everything from the animiation, story and soundtrack was *chefs Kiss* to my young brain (though credit where credit is due, the first Pokemon movie was far superior).
Having revisited it was my own kids a quickly realised it was a bit of a mess, and after dome digging learnt that this movie is rated as one of the wrost anime dubs every made. Ahhhh, the 90s....this was not its only victim, and the culpritc was a distripution compant called 4Kids, who heavily censorered a lot fo show that made thier way west, including Digimon, Pokemon and DragonBall Z.
The Digimon film that we got here, was actually 3 different short films (with unconnected stories, different teams, different directors....everything) that had been re-edited with the fruit blender and dropped to audiences. So I want to acknowledge that here, as it's legitimately not ok to take people's works and treat them like that.
However, i still loved parts of this film, especially the part that was 'Our War Games,' where a hacker bot attempted to take over the internet and two of our main heroes go into battle against it. This was directed my Mamoru Hosoda who also created some of my favourite anime movies, including my absolute favourite of all time, Summer Wars, which owes its like to Digimon. Mamoru Hosoda loved the concept he created for Out War Games so much that he developed the story into its original film.
So Digimon, once again, continues to make my like better!

okay now that all 10 episodes are out on youtube in english, Ful lthoughts on monkie kid s5! spoilers under the cut :)
So, the big one. I really hardly notice the chance in animiation studio. I still see people being upset about it and saying its worse. But if no one had told me, I wouldn't have noticed.
On to the Fun stuff (pain)
This season is so freaking heartbeaking yall. Like MK has always felt like things were His fault, that he was bringing the chaos to the world. And then his Worst fear comes true. Nyua tells him that she created him For that reason. He exists for taht sacrafice and the demon (what's his name? the guy at the end?) only sped things up. Woke him up early. That's Insane! He really is the beginning of the end. And even when he Tried to do the right thing, sacrafice himself so everyone else would be safe, the universe/gods/whatever still were going to take his sacrafice and rewrite the world again anyway. And that's what Gets me about this season. Bc yeah MK listens at first and sacrafices himself. But the seccond he learns they've been pulling his strings this whole time and that his friends Won't be safe, he realizes taht he's still in control. He goes back to spend their last moments with his family and That ends up being waht saves everything. They share the power and prove that they don't need someone else calling every shot. it's just... a Lot for a lego show and im so so pleased with it.
Second thing! Uh we need to talk about Wukong in episode 9 and 10 bc oooh boy. NOt only was the man who was Terrified of dying to the point of becoming multiple times over imortal and taking his name out of the book of the dead WILLING to die so that MK wouldn't. But he fought MK with what I am assuming was his full power for the first time. MK wasn't holding back either. And that means a lot I think. MK is finally stronger (or maybe AS strong as him). Also the fact that MK used the circlet on him guts me everytime.
Also, adding onto the whole Wukong those last two episodes. What the Hell were those screams when MK 'dies'??? I have never heard something like that in a lego show. it gave me Chills. Like I fully expected him to yk get angry get Mean again but not just LIke That. That was so real sounding. Props to his va bc Shit dudes
third thing! Speaking of VA's god MK's was doing Just as good. All those little moments where his voice wavers as he comes to belive that sacraficing himself is the only way. God and the way his voice sounds as he tells Piggsy that 'jsut because it's hard doesn't mean it's not the right thing' (or something along those lines). This season Hurt me so much yall. Especially as MK chose to come back and Wukong catches him. And he just keeps telling him he's okay??? PAIN??
Oh and at the end when MK is just crying??? IM fine. Yep. His voice actor really nailed all of this. 10/10
Fourth thing! I said it in my other post but uhhhh Macaque?? He sacrafices himself Twice in this season. First into the Pagoda and then by using up a lot of his strength getting them all out of those bindings so SWK can save MK. For all their bickering this season (some might say like an old married couple) Maqaque and Wukong really do seem to be making up yk? and i mean not to mention at the end when they all think it's over and Wukong reaches for him????
Fifth! Are we gonna talk about the memory demon thign showing Wukong The fight with Macaque???? Like of all the shitty/awful things he's done and lived through, That is what the demon shows him to hurt him the most. And it is the Most painful thing bc MK's is all about his monkie side and sacraficing himself. And that's His biggest fear. SO it makes sense that Wukong( and the others) were shown Their worst memories. And yk the fact taht after he's cut free there are Tears in his eyes??? god Im gonna have to watch this season a few more times to pick out all the little details cause the tears thing I only noticed bc someone pointed it out in the comments on the video i was watching.
Final thoughts lol
This season was Incredible! Not only did everything MK has been through Finally catch up with him, something they've been hinting at since s1, but it did in a very satisfying way. I was on the edge of my seat all through the 9th and 10th episodes. I genuinly didn't know who was gonna do the sacrafice. And then when MK jumpped in, I was in awe bc this is a lego show. They wouldn't kill the main charcter. But I really like how they got around that. BC it doesn't Feel like getting around it. It feels like the thing mk Would have done. IF the goddess had told him that his friends were safe, MK would have stayed. 100%. The way his voice breaks as his knees give out when he realizes (incorectly) that they're safe. He'd have died to save them. The only reason he comes back is bc it was a pointless sacrafice.
The season as a whole was also really good. I was a bit confused why it was so easy for MK to get al the stones but then it was revealed that it was Meant to be. This was supposed to be his destiny so things litterally fell into his lap. That was a really nice touch I think. I also really loved all the character interactions! Piggsy calling him son Repeatedly. MK saying he has a ton of dads. Just. Big emphasis on family and i Can't Wait to see how MK's almost sacrafice is gonna change things in following seasons! Bc that was a suicide attempt guys. He saw a world better without him in it and tried to die. if you take away all the fancy wording that's what it is. And ik lego would never yk Say that. but they're already tackling bigger themes than they have before (in this show and dreams and ninjago) so I have faith that they'll go somewhere with this too. Clearly Mk is still terrified and hurt by everything so I really hope eveyrone will come together to try and help him through all this. And yk the next big bad. Can Chaos be a big bad??? I'm so excited for S6!
#this came out waaaay longer than i meant lol#but i have SO many thoughts#monkie kid#d rambles#monkie kid spoilers

What do you thjnk it was the cuphead show's biggest missed potential?
Oh boy do I have a list-
Listen, I love this show more than any show I’ve ever watched, it’s incredible. Buuuut there are some things I would’ve like to add.
1. Backstories
I know we got only one backstory, chalice’s (which I had a tiny bit of a problem with, I’ll explain in a bit) but it would’ve been nice if we got backstories fo other characters, because we’ve only gotten hints. For example: Devil pointing up confirming heaven kind of exists, Elder Kettle mentioning his mother and diaper baby, the VA for devil saying he met King Dice at an underground convention, etc.
Like, how did henchman and the devil meet, which brings me to my next point-
2. Inkwell heaven
I know it would be a bit risky adding events from the Bible into the show, but there are two theories for how devil was born/created. Either he was born a demon, son of a much powerful demon, or he fell from heaven.
I would’ve loved to have at least an Angel of some sort interact with someone in the hellish trio. Specifically Michael, because it’s his job to make sure Lucifer doesn’t start shit.
But that’s got me thinking, if devil is down in inkwell city, causing havoc, why hasn’t anyone above stopped him?? But enough about that-
3. Calix Animi
Ok this? This pisses me off the most. I know a lot of people like the backstory chalice got in the show, I liked it too, but stILL- -
Ok, kind of a weird take, but what if the legendary chalice and ms chalice have a sort of Steven Universe = Rose Quartz situation? (If you watch Steven Universe, you’d get it. It’s a great show tbh-) where they’re both different people, but the same? It’s hard to explain.
What I would’ve loved is chalice to go through the rugged ridge and have a sort of flashback with a musical note cause ofc-
Hopefully if the show gets renewed we have a chance of getting all this, cause I would love it.
@netflix please I beg of you-

Animus Magic Regarding the Soul
Animus Magic. Does it make you lose your soul? We don't get a clear answer, but in my opinion/theory, it doesn't and only helps you lose your soul. Let's take a look at all of the animuses. (Animuses? Animi?)
Jerboa I: The first occurrence of Animus magic turning a dragon bad. Jerboa wants a dragonet, so she decides to make one. She swears that she won't use her powers to manipulate and change the child, but over the course of a few centuries, that's exactly what happens. I think that in this case, Jerboa essentially just got into a bad habit. I think that one day, Jerboa II or Jerboa III was being annoying, and Jerboa I just thought, "Ah, it wouldn't hurt if I just did it this one time, right?" and then she realized how convenient it was, and she kept doing it. Animus magic didn't directly take from her soul.
Albatross: I don't have too much proof for this one but here are my points. At the Royal SeaWing Massacre, the SkyWing soldiers were talking about how Animus magic destroys the soul, and then Albatross walks up to the queen, and says something along the lines of "It can't take away from your soul if you never had one to begin with." Suspicious. Second point: His first Animus enchantment was an accident when his sisters were teasing him as a dragonet and he told a clamshell to bite off his sister's claws, and although he was young, it is still a very dark thought to have as a child. I bet that he was a terrible dragon to begin with, but then he got pissed off at the way his family was using him, and then he snapped.
Arctic: This one is fairly simple. The rotten patches Darkstalker saw on his Father's soul were guilt. Guilt for the IceWings he accidentally killed, and guilt for betraying his tribe. Some people say that the proof that he lost his soul was the fact that he was willing to trade his own daughter and an entire tribe's secrets just for his wife. I think that after everything that happened, Foeslayer was an island in the middle of the ocean. She was the one point of light in his life, and all of his guilt and anger and sadness made him go insane, and he needed Foeslayer. However, Animus magic definitely had a role in this.
Darkstalker: Although Darkstalker had his scroll with his Animus magic, the reason he lost his soul was the fact that not having to worry about Animus magic made him think that he could use his powers anywhere at any time. This freedom turned him into a Karen. "I deserve the NightWing throne. After all, I was born with these powers. What else would they be used for?" These were basically the words he lived by. Not only this but the more he used his magic, the more he thought it was okay to do more extreme stuff.
Fathom: I don't have much to say, by staying away from using his Animus powers, the less greedy he got for power.
Stonemover: His enchantment with the turning into stone, was instead of losing his soul. In book six, he thinks, "Lost another scale today." This shows us that he was still losing his soul, long after he stopped using his powers. Why? Well, I think that he was so beaten by the fact that he was losing his soul that he became depressed. And because of him no longer being happy, he was losing his soul. Animus magic really scared and scarred him.
Turtle: Just the fact that Turtle wanted to be a side character tells us that he wouldn't want to use his powers for bad things because that would be putting him in the spotlight. Also, he was a really good dragon. He enchanted a lot of items, and yet he's still a happy guy.
Anemone: Her situation is ridiculously similar to Darkstalker's, but she still has her differences. When she was young, she saw what animus magic could do, and as a dragonet, she was probably scared of it. When Anemone got older, she saw how powerful it could really be, and she loved that power. Thankfully, her friends were able to steer her back on the right path. The cold feeling she got when she used her powers in book two? Probably shock. Just seeing that power in action is thrilling and a little scary as well.
Well, that's it! I hope you enjoyed reading this, even if it didn't change your mind.

Episode Ten: The Will of a Hunter
Something was there. Mugman knew it. He wasn’t crazy unless he could blink and wake up from this nightmare.
A stone statue of a brave cup in the deep underground of withering Sugarland had his eyes flickered between blue and red.
Blue and red.
Blue and red.
Blue and red.
Mugman was tossing and turning on the bottom bunk bed below Natalie. Cassidy was sleeping next to him. She didn’t seem disturb by his constant tossing and turning.
Mugman moaned in discomfort as his dream continued.
There was electricity and fire gripping on both sides of the stoned cup statue, getting brighter and brighter until the fire and electricity broke through. Both spread across the underground, engulfing everything and anything around the statue.
Mugman’s eyes shot opened, revealing his pupils to be bright blue. His veins became brighter blue while he could feel his insides being electrocuted. Everything started to hurt while he tried to clenched his teeth to not scream and wake the others up until he collapsed on the floor. He had no control over his body convulsing on the floor. He felt his teeth biting his tongue to the point where he could feel blood trickling up to his bottom lip.
Mugman could see something completely different though despite feeling pain. He could see stars above him with endless galaxies upon galaxies. He couldn’t count them all to calm himself down because he could lost souls roaming through the blue liquid plane, each of them lost.
“Calix Animi sumus.
a Altissimo sumus electi.
Altissimi tueri liberos vovemus.
Votum est pugnare cum angelis et daemones eicere.”
Mugman breathed heavily, trying to figure out why his vision suddenly changed into a beautiful heavenly place with luscious green forest, just as beautiful as the forest he used to live in. He could feel himself being pulled into the luscious forest with the smell of pine everywhere infiltrating his nose much more than it used to. It was then, he saw a small building of twelve objects gathered in a circle, speaking in a foreign language that Mugman couldn’t understand.
“Calix Animi sumus.
a Altissimo sumus electi.
Altissimi tueri liberos vovemus.
Votum est pugnare cum angelis et daemones eicere.”
Those words repeated themselves until Mugman heard more closely, translating into a language he could understand better.
“We are the Calix Animi.
We are chosen by the Most High.
We vow to protect the Most High’s children.
We vow to fight alongside with angels and cast out the demons.”
Mugman gasped in shock. What was going on here? Who was the Calix Animi? He saw a familiar cup stranger in the crowd…wait he looked like that stoned statue cup, but he couldn’t remember the name of his until—
The blue in Mugman’s vision faded away, causing him to gasp as if he hadn’t breathed in a while. He looked around to find that he was still in the bedroom and was surprised that his friends, his girlfriend, and his brother slept through all the commotion he was making unknowingly. Once Mugman sat up, blood started to leaked out from his mouth. He covered his mouth with a shocked gasp, realizing that he might have bit his tongue too hard.
He rushed out of the bedroom and hurried to find a bathroom two doors down from Natalie’s bedroom. He didn’t hesitate to enter the bathroom and shut the door, blood leaking out of his fingers. Mugman strode to the sink and uncovered his mouth, seeing blood falling out of his mouth. Luckily his tongue was okay, but it was bleeding.
Mugman washed his mouth and stroked his bleeding tongue, getting as much blood out as he could before grabbing a dry cloth and stuck it on his tongue. He breathed heavily, trying grasp of what he just saw in his vision. He took deep breaths to calm himself down, groaning. It was all probably just a stupid dream. But what happened back there? There had to be a reason why he was flapping around like a fish.
Did it had something to do with whatever orb there was down below Sugarland? Did Cuphead have the same dream? Will Cuphead have the same dream? Wait, was that why Cuphead could shape-shift suddenly? Was it the red part of whatever that orb was?
There were so many questions that he deserved to know. Mugman deserved to know what was going on with him and his brother. That would be the last time Cuphead and Mugman will ever touch anything.
Mugman looked up and saw his reflection, his eyes widened in shock. He could himself in the mirror, but he looked too different. His irises were red in his yellow eyes, sharp teeth grinning wickedly at him. His big blue nose wrinkled and darkened. The flames erupted from his ceramic head and his claws gripped the porcelain sink.
The mug breathed heavily as he could’ve sworn he saw his reflection leaping out of the mirror to get him. Mugman stumbled back with a gasp against the wall, but he blinked and the creature that looked so much like him disappeared without a trace. He could hear his little maniacal laugh.
“W-What is going on?!” Mugman screamed, not sure what he was seeing all around was real. It was sudden that he could feel the familiar pain in his head again. Oh no, not again. Mugman growled while clutching the side of his head.
“Stop, stop, stop, stop, stop,” Mugman groaned in pain, his hands gripping the sides of his ceramic head. “No, no, no, please—”
Mugman felt hairs coming out of his body like fur, his vision turning red around him like blood. He watched his hands transformed into paws with claws extended out of the tips of his fingers. Breathing heavily in panic, he looked to see the door unlocked. With the last bit of sanity he had left, he pushed through his pain and locked the door so that no one could come in and get harmed by him.
“S-Stop! Please…I don’t want this…I don’t want this…”
Mugman felt the tip of his tongue torn apart, making a forked tongue like a reptilian monster. He gasped in shock while feeling his conscious slip away. He could no longer control his body. He couldn’t control the laughter coming out of his mouth.
~.~
“NOOOO!!!” Mugman cried and fell through the darkness. He screamed all the way down, not sure what he was doing or what was going on. Someone else had taken hold of his body and he needed to get it back before he could hurt anyone by accident.
He collapsed on the floor with a groan in pain. He blinked his eyes open to realize…he was in the same place before. In the bathroom in the Ruth Mansion. Wait, was this all a stupid dream? What was going on?
“Hello, little animal.”
Mugman gasped and whirled around as he felt someone picking him up by the throat slamming him against the wall, losing the center part of his handle. It was that tiger stranger once again.
“WHO ARE YOU?!” Mugman cried while thrashing his feet. He watched his veins glowing orange at the tiger’s touch. “WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!”
“Aww, you haven’t figured out already? Your father was dumb enough to bring you into his little lab. You oughta know something.”
“I DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT!!! I WAS ONLY A BABY!!!” Mugman screamed in pain from the burn he felt in his veins. “STOP!!! STOP!!!”
“Well, if you can’t remember what I want you to remember, then maybe you could remember something so recent. How about where you are right now?”
“I’ll never tell you that!” Mugman growled, spitting at the tiger’s face.
“Oh, don’t worry, I have ways of getting you to tell me…whether you mean to or not.”
With that said, Mugman was thrown into the mirror, transporting him outside of Natalie’s house. He blinked open his eyes and gasped. He shook his head and looked, trying to prevent whoever was messing with his head to come near the house.
“No, I won’t! I won’t let you—!” Mugman felt his handle being grabbed by the tiger and the intensified burn throughout his veins. “LEAVE ME ALONE!!!”
He snapped his eyes open to see Natalie’s house in full view. Mugman screamed in pain, his body going limped from the pain.
“Good. Good. Don’t get too worried about it, you’ll be the only one left alive,” the tiger whispered cruelly into his ears.
“NO! NO! I WON’T LET YOU HURT THEM!!!”
“Oh, I won’t be the one to hurt them.”
Mugman blinked as he felt something damped on his gloves suddenly. He lifted his hands up to see…blood. Nothing but fresh blood. The tears started to edge out of the mug’s face, his head shaking in denial.
“NO! NO!!! I DON’T WANT TO HURT THEM!!!” Mugman cried, transporting back in the bathroom with the tiger holding him hostage.
“Mugman…Mugman, are you in there?!” Elder Kettle’s voice called from the other side of the door, panicked.
“No, Elder Kettle! Get away from me!!!” Mugman cried while struggling against the tiger’s grip.
“Mugman! Mugman, you okay in there?!” Cuphead’s voice echoed from the other side.
“I’ll go see what’s going on,” Chalice’s voice said with determination.
“NO! CHALICE! STAY AWAY!!!” Mugman screamed while sobbing uncontrollably.
“Wait, I can hear some weird maniacal laughter on the other side of the door,” Jerry’s quiet tone uttered.
“Yeah, I agree. Kettle, I think the potion was wearing off,” Porkrind’s gruff voice said in a timid manner.
“Mugman! Mugman! Are you okay?!” Cassidy’s sweet angelic voice soothed his ears a little.
“CASSI! CASSI!!!” Mugman cried.
“Your little family and friends won’t hear you scream. They’ll only hear your bloodlust laughs as you slaughtered them into pieces.”
“NOOOO!!!! GET AWAY!!!! GET AWAY!!!!” Mugman begged his family and friends.
“Don’t worry, Mugsy! We’ll help ya!” Cuphead shouted in determination.
“NOO!!! CUPHEAD!!! STAY AWAY!!!”
“Hold on, Mugman!” Cassidy encouraged.
“NOOO!!! I SAID STAY AWAY!!!” Mugman said as his veins went from orange to blue in an instant, confusing the tiger holding him until the electricity was shot out of his body. The tiger stumbled away while Mugman was dropped to the ground, watching electricity spreading across the bathroom and onto the door. He heard yelps in shock from the other side of the door, now happy that his family and friends had gotten the message.
“What the heck?!” Canteen’s voice shouted.
“Stay away from the door!” Natalie replied loudly at, if Mugman had to guess, Aurora.
Mugman heard someone else coming into the bathroom. He turned his head to find someone familiar and yet…not so familiar at the same time. It was a cup stranger, walking into the bathroom through the wall with the ball of electricity on one hand and red fire on the other hand. He charged towards the tiger and tackled him away from Mugman, who was dropped on the floor on his butt. He looked up to see the cup stranger pinning the tiger against the wall with his swords summoned on his hands magically.
“Who are you?! What are you?!” the tiger growled at the cup stranger.
Mugman looked up at the cup stranger with some sense of admiration.
“Let’s just say that I’m his protector,” the cup stranger replied with a smirk. With the telepathic force, he controlled the electric waves to electrocute the tiger.
The tiger screamed in pain and disappeared into thin air.
Mugman’s surroundings disappeared until it was black void. Before Mugman could question the identity of the cup stranger, his surroundings changed automatically. Now, Mugman was in someplace warm and familiar…in the living room of Elder Kettle’s house.
“You okay?”
Mugman looked up at the cup stranger, who held a hand up to help the little mug up on his feet.
Mugman nodded his head and took the stranger’s hand, standing up to his feet. “W-What just happened? Who are you?”
“You’re in the safe place now,” the stranger explained. “The name is Gabriel. Gabriel Arch-Cup.”
“Gabriel Arch-Cup—?” Mugman widened his eyes in shock. “Wait! You’re that stone statue in the caverns in Sugarland with the weird glowing orb thingy and-and—holy cow.”
“No one has come this far to touch the Eternal’s Orb,” Gabriel, the cup stranger, responded. “You two must have my blood to get the orb.”
Mugman blinked his eyes in shock. “Wait, wait, wait, you’re telling me that—Wait…this doesn’t make sense. You said you’re my protector.”
“Yes, as a member of the Calix Animi, I vow to protect anyone who absorbed the orb, and that would be you and your brother.”
“Calix Animi…what’s that?”
Gabriel frowned. “I’m surprised you haven’t heard of us. If you are my descendant, how far into the future are you?”
“Future…? Do you mean right now as I’m living?”
“I guess that’s what I mean.”
“Uh…I don’t know.”
“Huh, okay. What year are you guys in?”
“Uuuuummm, maybe 1936.”
“Oh wow! Okay, I wasn’t expecting that.”
Mugman arched a brow. “Wasn’t expecting what?”
“Well, to be three centuries old…heh, I guess I’ve been living in the dark for too long.”
“Three centuries old?! Whoa! You’re really old! But…you don’t even look old.”
“I died a long time ago.”
“Oh…”
“What I should’ve said was that I’ve been trapped underground for three centuries. I’ve sworn myself to protect anyone who has my blood and absorbed the Eternal’s orb. You and your brother found me.”
“Does that mean you’ll protect Cuphead too?”
“Mhm.” Gabriel nodded his head. “Although, you’re brother is a little…”
“Annoying?”
“No.”
“Stupid?”
“No.”
“Weird?”
“Chaotic…Reckless.”
“Oh yeah, that’s typical for Cuphead.”
“So are you though.”
“I’m not that chaotic and reckless.”
“That’s debatable based on you and your brother’s memories.”
Mugman crossed his arm with a huff. “Well then—wait—! You looked through our memories?!”
“Yeah. Kind of. I kinda want to see who I’m protecting. That’s how I know that your safe place was at Elder Kettle’s house.”
They heard voices coming from the other side of the door. Mugman and Gabriel looked at the door.
“It’s time to wake up,” Gabriel said.
“Wait, what?”
Gabriel walked towards the door and opened it, revealing a bright light flashing before their eyes.
Mugman covered his face and glanced at Gabriel. “Wait, Gabriel!”
“Hm?”
“Will I see you again?” Mugman questioned.
“You’ll see me again. Maybe sooner than later,” Gabriel replied while stepping into the light.
Mugman could hear voices of his loved ones, calling to him to wake up finally. He clutched his chest and stepped through the light.
~.~
Mugman groaned in pain while fluttering his eyes open. He found himself laying on the bottom bunk bed with the morning blinding his eyes. His vision was no longer red and he didn’t feel claws digging through the mattress. He was back to normal…how? How did this happen?
Mugman flicked a gaze around him to find Cuphead by his bedside along with Cassidy, both smiling excitedly to see him awake.
“You okay, bud?” Cuphead asked softly.
Mugman sat up with a groan while rubbing his ceramic head. “Ugh, kind of…what-what just happened? D-Did I hurt anyone?”
“Nah, ya didn’t. BUT YOU BLEW OFF THE BATHROOM DOOR WITH SOME SUDDEN BURST OF ELECTRICITY!!!” Cuphead shouted excitedly. “THAT WAS SO COOL! HOW DID YOU DO THAT?! TELL ME! TELL ME! TELL ME!!”
He was swiftly interrupted by Elder Kettle picking Cuphead by the handle and pulling him away from his brother.
“Cuphead, give your brother some space. He’s still recovering,” Elder Kettle responded softly. He shifted his gaze at Mugman. “Are you okay, son?”
“Y-Yeah. Just a bit hurt in some areas,” Mugman uttered with a nervous smile. Then he widened his eyes in sudden realization. “We have to get out of here.”
“What?” Cuphead, Cassidy, and Elder Kettle questioned simultaneously.
Mugman got up from the bed, barely stumbling. “We got to get everyone out of here. We’re not safe!”
“Whoa, slow down, boy,” Elder Kettle said while helping Mugman up on his feet, which was noticed by Porkrind, Jerry, Chalice, Canteen, Natalie, and Aurora. “What’s going on?”
“We don’t have time. The-The Night Stalkers…they-they knew we’re here.”
“Are you sure it’s not just a nightmare?”
“It’s not! It’s-It’s real! All of it! We have to go now!”
“Hey, kid, don’t panic,” Porkrind stepped in.
There was a sudden knock at the door, causing everyone to froze in terror.
“Are the bad people here?” Aurora questioned, earning a quiet shush from Natalie.
Cassidy stood by Mugman, holding his hand. Chalice stepped in front of Canteen to protect him from incoming danger, earning a blush from the metal canteen.
The knock echoed through the house.
Porkrind hurried into a kitchen to grab a frying pan with Jerry taking out his cannon guns. Elder Kettle grabbed the sword from the mantel in the living room as the three adult men stood together in front of the door.
“You kids hide somewhere safe,” Porkrind instructed. “We’ll take care of this.”
“Dad—”
Cassidy watched her father and Jerry go with Elder Kettle to the front door. Elder Kettle motioned up to three with his fingers and opened the door.
“AHA!!” all three of them screamed, only for them to realize that Ribby and Croaks were standing at the porch with a shriek.
“WHOA! WHOA! We friendly here! We friendly here!” Ribby shouted with his hands raised up.
Captain Brineybeard appeared behind them, carrying Cala Maria in his arms. “Aye, we aren’t goin’ t’ hurt ye!”
“I could turn them into stone if we need to get inside,” Cala offered.
“No, that won’t be necessary,” Croaks responded.
“Ribby? Croaks?” Cassidy recognized excitedly while running up to them.
The frog brothers brightly smiled. “Cassi!!!” They lifted her up and hugged her with laughter and happiness.
Porkrind lowered his frying pan. “They’re not our enemies.”
Dice approached the group.
“HE IS!” Elder Kettle growled while pointing at the sword at King Dice.
“Whoa! Whoa!” The frog brothers shouted.
“He works for the Devil!” Elder Kettle shouted at the others.
“Oh, then he’s gotta go,” Jerry said while pointing his guns at Dice.
Porkrind tilted his head while aiming his frying pan at Dice. “You gotta a lot of nerve to show up here without your boss creepin’ around.”
“Look, I know you all don’t trust me, but believe me when I tell you that Big D and the Night Stalkers ain’t that far behind us,” King Dice alerted the rest of the group.
“Big D?!” Porkrind and Jerry gasped.
“Yeah…?” Dice uttered. “You know, the Devil.”
“Oh, I thought you were…talking about…down there…between your…you know what, nevermind,” Jerry said with a groan.
“Aye, he’s right! The Davy Jones ‘n his cult o’ killers are on thar way here right now!” Brineybeard agreed with King Dice.
The three men began lowering their guards down slightly.
“If we’re leaving, we’re leaving you behind,” Elder Kettle growled at King Dice, pointing his sword at him.
Dice widened his eyes. “Hey, the Devil wants to kill me too, you know!”
“Oh boo-hoo, Mr. Fancy Man. I’m sure he’ll welcome you back with open arms if you surrender yourself to him,” Elder Kettle snarled at the gambler.
“Kettle?”
Elder Kettle perked up at the familiar sword and looked over beside Dice, his weary eyes widening in shock to see Murray standing there with only one eye and a handle missing. A gasp escaped his lips while he dropped his sword.
Murray smiled a little to see Elder Kettle again. “It’s been a while, has it?”
Elder Kettle covered his mouth, trying not to cry in seeing Murray again. Cuphead and Mugman walked outside to see Elder Kettle in utter tears. They had never seen the old war-veteran and former arsonist almost breaking down crying.
“Is…everything alright—?” Mugman looked up at Murray along with Cuphead. Murray tried not to cry in front of his boys, smiling through the tears.
“Who are you?” Cuphead asked with more of an abrasive tone.
Elder Kettle managed to clear his throat first. “He’s your father, boys.”
Cuphead blinked in shock along with Mugman.
“Dad?” Mugman uttered in shock.
Murray nodded his head.
Mugman felt tears edging out of his eyes while running up to Murray and leaping into his father’s arms. Murray almost stumbled from Mugman jumping on him and knocking him down. He embraced his son, finally letting the tears fall from his eye.
Cuphead examined his father with the look of skepticism. Not that he didn’t believe that Elder Kettle would lie to them about who their father was…but he couldn’t believe he saw his father…after fifteen years. It was awkward to say the least. There was so much to catch up on. So much to even talk about. Where was his father in the past fifteen years? Why did he leave them? Why were they abandoned?
Murray noticed Cuphead not running into his arms. If Murray had to be honest, he wouldn’t blame Cuphead for being skeptical. He extended his hand out for Cuphead to join them in a hug. Cuphead looked at Murray’s hand with the look of confusion before shaking his hand with a friendly smile. Murray chuckled a bit at his son’s reaction and shook his hand too.
Murray broke away from Mugman and set him down. “I feel like I owe you boys a lot explanation, do I?”
Cuphead nodded his head while Mugman wiped the tears away and nodded.
“I-I remembered…” Mugman almost whimpered. “I remembered Mama and you and Cuphead…I-I remembered the tiger trying to kill us.”
“How could you remember all of that?” Murray asked with a curious tone.
“I-I don’t know.”
Murray frowned and sighed. “The tiger you remembered was named Hunter. Hunter Manson…he’s…not a good guy. It’s best if you stay away from him.”
“Will do!” Cuphead replied with a thumbs up.
“I-I can’t…” Mugman uttered tearfully.
Murray tilted his head. “What do you mean?”
Mugman started to tremble. “I-I—I keep seeing him…in my dreams…he-he was trying to—” The little mug started to weep, his small body trembling.
Elder Kettle clenched his teeth. “Mugman has Tremaine inside of him.”
“What?!” Murray gasped in shock and looked at Mugman.
Mugman started to cry. “He’s torturing me with it…”
“Wait, what? You never told us that,” Cuphead pointed out to Mugman.
“I-I didn’t want to worry you guys,” Mugman answered.
Everyone was dead silent.
Murray looked at Jerry. “Do you have extra guns?”
Jerry looked at Porkrind, who shrugged his shoulders, and then back at Murray. Jerry dug out one extra cannonball hand gun and handed it to Murray.
“Thanks,” Murray responded.
“Yeah…Hunter sent Bowlboy to inject Tremaine into Mugman,” King Dice said with clenched teeth.
“WHAT?!” the group gasped in shock.
“Okay, in the kid’s defense, he didn’t know what he was putting in Mugman…the kid likes to inject random weird stuff into people…which was mostly harmless until Tremaine happened,” King Dice responded.
“Look, as much as we like to catch up with each other and reunite, the Night Stalkers are right there,” Cala Maria said while pointing at the army of hooded figures coming towards them in the woods.
“Oh no, they’ve followed us!!” Croaks shouted in panic.
“You saying it’s my fault?!” Ribby barked with his fists clenched.
“So what if I did?!” Croaks snarled back. The imaginary bell rang as the two frogs were punching each other.
“Are ye serious right now? GET INSIDE NOW!!!” Brineybeard shouted at the frogs.
The frogs didn’t hesitate to hurry inside, carrying Cassidy inside while Porkrind and Jerry pulled Elder Kettle into the house. Murray picked up Cuphead and Mugman and hurried inside.
King Dice saw the Devil among the Night Stalkers with a glare at the house, breathing heavily in fear.
“Dice, get in!” Ribby shouted for Dice.
Brineybeard noticed Dice being frozen in terror at the sight of the Devil and stepped forward just to grab the gambler by the shoulder and yanked him inside of the house.
~.~
Natalie, who had been inside of the house the entire time with Chalice, Canteen, and Aurora, put a protective arm over her baby sister while Ribby and Croaks barricaded the door after Dice was pulled inside.
Brineybeard turned Dice to face him. “Listen t’ me, lad, he won’t listen t’ ye if ye try t’ explain the situation. He doesn’t care. He sees ye as someone who’s easily replaceable. Ye’re worth more than that, mate. Don’t forget that.”
Dice blinked in shock at the pirate’s words. Even Cala Maria was shocked from his words while sitting on his shoulder. She blushed a bit from even hearing those words, even though it wasn’t meant for her at the moment.
Brineybeard nodded his head and focused on what was going on outside of the house.
“Oh man, we’re going to die here,” Ribby uttered in fear. “We was doin’ just fine running a boat restaurant…now…we’re going to die.”
“I don’t wanna die,” Croaks sobbed. “I’m sorry we was always fightin’!”
“Me too. Me too.”
Brineybeard widened his eyes in shock. “Belay that! Ye ‘ave a boat?”
Ribby glanced at the pirate. “Uh…yeah.”
“It’s a ferry boat though,” Croaks uttered.
“That’s more than enough!” Brineybeard determined. “Come on, we got t’ get off o’ this island! Thar be an island across the way that could get us further from the Night Stalkers!”
Chalice brightly smiled at the idea. “Yeah, I know a friend from another island! He’ll be more than happy to help with this whole Tremaine situation!”
“I sure hope so,” Ribby muttered lowly as they heard more and more footsteps surrounding the place.
“Come on, we gotta get out of here!” Cuphead determined.
Natalie clenched her jaw. “Oh, Mom’s going to be so mad at me for leaving this house a mess.”
“I think you should consider more about you and your sister’s safety,” Porkrind pointed out to Natalie.
“We gotta go!” Jerry urged the group as they were on their way to the back door until they were met with more hooded assassins breaking down the door. They froze and looked to see the front door broken down.
Cuphead and Mugman gasped to see Devil among them.
“There, now I can kill all of you right where you stand!”
Cassidy growled with her ears pinned down on her head.
Brineybeard took out his sword along with Elder Kettle. Ribby and Croaks put up their gloved hands to ready to fight anyone coming near them. Cassidy extended her claws with her teeth clenched, standing by Porkrind and Jerry. Porkrind had his frying pan ready with Jerry taking out his pistol. Murray stood in front of Cuphead and Mugman and aimed the pistol he was given at any assassin who would dare come near them. Natalie hugged her little sister closer with heavy breaths in fear. Chalice stood in front of Canteen with a growl and her fists clenched.
“What are we waiting for? Kill them all!” Devil barked at the assassins.
Cassidy snarled at the assassins raising their guns at them.
Dice shook his head and stepped in between the group and the Devil and the cultists. “Wait! These cultists do not have your best interest, boss! They have an underground cell with your name on it!”
Devil widened his eyes.
“Hunter is going to stab you in the back and rule Hell! You gotta listen to me! He’s trying to take over the world by ruling Hell! You gotta believe me!” Dice shouted in a pleading tone.
“Aye, we heard it all, ain’t that right, lads?” Brineybeard asked Ribby, Croaks, and Cala Maria.
“Yeah! He’s also going to trap Dice underground too,” Ribby spoke out.
Croaks nodded his head in agreement.
“Look, you may hate us, but I heard their plan in the underground cell as well,” Cala Maria responded with her arms crossed and her eyes glowing red. “Believe us or not, your choice. But we won’t let you have our souls.”
“YEAH!” Ribby and Croaks shouted in determination.
The Devil arched a brow in confusion. “You’ve all hated me. How do you expect me to believe you?!”
“Please, listen to them! They were there with me!” Dice shouted at the Devil.
“He ain’t goin’ t’ listen t’ us, lad! We won’t convince ‘im otherwise!” Brineybeard reminded Dice.
“Kill them all!” Devil growled at the assassins. The assassins raised their guns at the same time Cala Maria shot laser beams out of her eyes, turning the assassins all around them into stone, including Devil.
The group stood in shock at the fact that they didn’t have to fight the assassins until they saw more coming towards them.
Dice looked down to notice the orange glow within the cracks of the stoned Devil. “It ain’t gonna hold long. We have to go!”
“Now ye’re talkin’! Come on!” Brineybeard said with a bright smile, hurrying to pick Natalie and Aurora up in his one strong arm while his other strong arm was holding Cala Maria on his shoulder.
Murray picked up the boys and rushed out the back door with Brineybeard, Cala, Natalie, and Aurora, followed by Elder Kettle, Porkrind, Cassidy, Jerry, Chalice, and Canteen.
Ribby and Croaks were the last to get out behind them, barricading the door with a nearby board leaned against the wall. Elder Kettle picked up his black goat just grazing outside in the backyard.
They hurried towards the town, being followed by the assassins, including Hunter.
Ribby and Croaks noticed their ferry parked on the shore a few blocks away from the coastal town.
Ribby looked at the gang. “Hey! We’ll meet youse guys over at the port!”
The gang nodded their heads in understanding when they saw the frogs taking off towards the ferry as fast as they could.
Hunter had the assassins split up to go after Ribby and Croaks while he stuck with the assassins chasing after the rest of the gang.
~.~
They hurried into the coastal town with the assassins chasing after them.
Cassidy realized they were hitting a dead end at the port. “Guys!”
Everyone widened their eyes in shock once they hit a dead end. They stood at the edge and watched Hunter approached them with his assassins behind him.
Mugman trembled watching the tiger who was in his dreams becoming real in front of him. “You.”
Cuphead heard his brother and then glared at Hunter. He raised his finger guns, clenching his teeth in anger. The tips of his fingers glowed blue. “Don’t you take another step or else I’ll shoot!”
Hunter smirked at the small cup. “How cute. Where was that need to protect your brother when you owed the Devil your soul?”
Cuphead growled, his eyes turned into red flames and the glow went from blue to red quickly. Hunter broadened his eyes at this sight before dodging when the fireballs fired at them by hanging on the side edge of the port.
The group widened their eyes in shock at Cuphead’s new abilities. Cuphead’s veins glowed red while he zoomed towards the rest of the assassins who dodged his fire attack. He punched one of them in the stomach, breaking his ribs with multiple cracks sound. He slammed his fist into another assassin’s jaw, completely broke it off of his mouth.
The group watched with more shock at Cuphead fighting the assassins violently. They looked at each other and got out their fists and weapons to join the fight. Cala Maria fell back into the ocean while Brineybeard put Aurora and Natalie down from his shoulders and led the charge towards the assassins, slashing his swords against the incoming assassins. Elder Kettle managed to swipe his sword at the assassin’s stomach causing him to bleed.
Murray put Mugman down and tackled the assassin coming towards them, getting into his memories with his eye glowing violet. Murray chose a memory to torture the assassin with and left him there to scream in agony. Then, he used his pistol Jerry gave him to shoot the assassin approaching him.
Mugman’s eyes suddenly turned blue. What was happening to him? His vision was blue, seeing skeletons fighting against each other. He couldn’t tell which were his friends and family and which were his family until he could feel a burst of electricity burst out of his hand, electrocuting the assassin, who was about to attack Murray. Murray turned around and watched his son’s body trembling at this newfound power he had inside of him. Murray loaded his gun and noticed the other assassin coming towards them, jumping in front of his son to defend him.
Jerry and Porkrind charged towards the assassins with the one-eyed pig struggling against the bigger assassin. He heard someone coming towards them and saw Cassidy climbing on the assassin, scratching his face up with an aggressive meow. The assassin felt a bullet on his shoulder, causing him to yelp in pain. Cassidy jumped back onto her father’s shoulder, holding onto his overall strap. They looked to find Jerry loading his pistol to fire the next shot.
Dice noticed Jerry fumbling to load his pistol and the assassin raising his rifle out of anger. He looked around people fighting while sighing heavily. It was then his eyes turned green as he took out his deck of cards and threw an ace of spades onto the tip of the assassin’s rifle, blocking the bullet from firing at Jerry. Instead, the bullet ricochet back inside of the rifle and exploded at the back, managing to get the assassin in the head. They looked to see Dice’s eyes turning green while all the cards surrounded him, ready to fight more than ever.
Canteen gasped in horror and watched three assassins coming towards him at the edge of the pier. He closed his eyes to accept his fate until one of the assassins turned around and shot two other assassins behind him. Canteen glanced up with eyes wide when he witnessed the assassin shooting himself after he shot the other assassins. Chalice’s ghost form popped out of the assassin once the assassin pulled the trigger and possessed the other assassin charging towards Natalie and Aurora and used him to shoot the incoming assassins.
Chalice phased out of the assassin once she made him shot himself and transformed back to her physical form with a sigh of relief. “Wonder when Ribby and Croaks were going to show up with the boat.”
She looked back and she noticed Canteen’s eyes dilated with a big blush across his face.
“Wow…” Canteen uttered.
“What?” Chalice questioned with a brow raised.
Canteen shook his head. “Nothing…uh, you…uh, you fight good as both ghost and mortal…I guess?”
Chalice gave him a flirty grin. “I could teach ya if you’re ever up for it.”
“That would be cool,” Canteen said, wiping off the sweat on his forehead.
“Get away from us!” Natalie shouted at the assassin, drawing both of Canteen’s and Chalice’s attention towards her and her sister.
The assassin raised his gun at them. Natalie hugged her sister, shielding her from the potential bullet. Before Chalice could turn into a ghost and defend Natalie and Aurora, everyone felt something shaking underneath the port. It was then that Cala Maria appeared, growing bigger than any skyscraper in Inkwell Isle City. She used her eyes to turned the assassin coming towards Natalie and Aurora into stone, which earned a look of admiration from Aurora.
“Ooh, big fishy!” Aurora called with a bright smile.
Cala Maria fired laser beams from her eyes with the ends of her hair turning into snakes hissing at the assassins coming towards them.
Hunter managed to recover and looked to find his assassins being out bested by the group. The tiger growled and looked to see Mugman with his eyes glowing blue. He smirked and put on the brown gloves with buttons on them, the same gloves Dice found in the secret room. He raised them up and pushed the buttons, managing to cause Mugman to stumble and groan in pain. Mugman breathed heavily while the blue in his eyes faded. He saw his veins turning from blue to orange. He gritted his teeth in pain and looked up to find Hunter torturing him from the side with those gloves.
Hunter chuckled lowly until he heard someone dashing towards him. He turned quickly and noticed Cuphead punching him in the chest, causing Hunter to lose control of Mugman and fall over into the water. The group saw more assassins coming towards them.
Finally Ribby and Croaks arrived with the ferry boat at the port.
“GET IN!!!” Ribby shouted for the group.
The red in Cuphead’s eyes faded, causing Cuphead to collapse. Murray picked Cuphead up along with Mugman, who almost fainted too. Murray carried both of his sons into the ferry boat, followed by Elder Kettle, Porkrind, Jerry, and Cassidy. Natalie picked Aurora up in her arms and hurried to the ferry with Chalice and Canteen.
Brineybeard picked up Canteen and Chalice and threw them up into the ferry. The buff pirate picked up Natalie and Aurora and placed them on his shoulders while climbing onto the deck of the ferry boat. Dice stayed behind and saw Devil approaching the scene with more assassins.
Dice clenched his teeth, feeling conflicted about his choices. Should he join the others and prolong his fate or should he accept his fate now? Dice looked up and saw Porkrind and Jerry watching this unfold from the deck.
Jerry and Porkrind exchanged glances while Jerry took out his gun and aimed it at the Devil, shooting the bullets at the Devil to temporarily slow him down. The Devil growled in pain as Dice watched in shock.
“Hey!”
Dice looked up and saw Porkrind’s hand extended to Dice.
“Are you gonna get on or what?!” Porkrind called.
Dice gasped in shock at the gesture and then looked back. He took a deep breath and finally made up his mind. He grasped Porkrind’s hand as the pig pulled him up into the ferry with Jerry helping them.
The ferry boat moved away from the port as fast as it could while Cala Maria gave them a boost with her tail splashing the water, causing a large wave to push the ferry away from the port. She glared back at the assassins and continued fighting them. Cala Maria felt a sting on her arm and she looked to see a huge syringe shot on her arm. She realized it was something that had knocked her out before as she started to breathe heavily, collapsing on the port.
Brineybeard saw all of this with tears welling up in his eyes. "CALA!!!"
The ferry moved forward, causing the pirate to breathed heavily at this sudden loss.
~.~
The ferry boat traveled in the middle of the ocean with Croaks driving it. Ribby looked ahead with his hand over his eyes to block the sun blinding him.
“How far is this other isle?” Ribby asked the group camping on the deck.
Chalice hopped on the railing, looking over at the ocean. “It should be that way. Hopefully, we’ll be safer there.”
“That was quite a fight you guys put up,” Ribby commented. “Is everyone alright?”
“Yeah, we're alright. We're alright. ,” Porkrind said while looking at the kids. Natalie was playing hopscotch with Aurora while Canteen used his binoculars to look around the ocean. Cassidy was frozen on the deck when surrounded by water, but Porkrind sat by her to let her know that he was here.
Brineybeard was still coping with Cala Maria not catching up with them and losing her again.
Porkrind sighed deeply and looked at Dice to see him looking back from where they came, processing what he was even doing on this ferry.
Jerry came up behind Dice and tilted his head. “Uh…are you doing okay?”
Dice turned to look at Jerry. “Oh, uh, I’m fine, thanks. Just deep in thought about something.”
Jerry nodded his head in understanding. “About what?”
“Oh. Just stuff and things.”
“Like Big…D…? You know, I’m calling him the Devil. That name didn’t sound appropriate to say in front of the children,” Jerry responded with a huff.
Dice chuckled at Jerry. “Yeah. Only his number one could call him that.” Dice frowned and sighed deeply. “What am I even doing? I mean, I wanna help in any way I can, but no matter what I tell him, he ain’t gonna listen to me.”
“He doesn’t listen to anyone,” Jerry cut in with his arms over the railing. “He’s the Devil for goodness sakes. You think he’s been around longer than everyone else and doesn’t listen to anyone all because his pride got the best of him. Such a shame really.”
Dice frowned. “Guess he’s gonna find out the hard way.”
“I think he knows,” Jerry replied.
“What makes you say that?”
Jerry glanced up at Dice. “First off, the Devil is a master of manipulation. If he can manipulate anyone, he can tell when he’s being manipulated pretty easily. Either he was dragging this longer to play or he’s waiting for Hunter to break the deal and get his soul. You’re probably ruining his fun by telling him something he already knew but didn’t want Hunter to know he already knew.”
Dice tilted his head. “Then why try to kill me?”
Jerry shrugged. “Maybe he thought you’re betraying him by joining our side.”
“I guess. But I wasn’t joining your side. I’m just…I…just…”
Jerry frowned to see Dice glancing down at the calm waters. “Just what?”
“I don’t know what I’m even doing. I got that guy out from the underground cell he’d been trapped in for years and helped him reunite with his boys and now I’m freeing all the prisoners and fighting by your side. I mean, I had no intention on doing any of this. I just want to be able to fight the Night Stalkers and Hunter. They were going to put me and Big D in those cells. And for what?! So that they could put Tremaine in us like they already did with Beppi and the Baroness in some sugar kingdom?! I refuse to be a part of their experiments! I can’t suffer like that. I don’t want to suffer like how Beppi suffered. Like how Mugman suffered. But I didn’t think I was fighting by your side.”
“Well, you did save my life back there at the port,” Jerry said with a small smile behind the scarf. “That I’m thankful for.”
“It’s nothing.”
“Well, it’s a life you saved. The Devil didn’t care about lives. He cares about collecting souls. You seem to care about lives…just a tad.”
Dice huffed an amused laugh. “Well, I care about my life.”
“Yeah, but you still saved mine,” Jerry responded.
“Let’s just say that it’s an one-time thing then.”
Jerry nodded his head. “Okay. Okay.” There was a pause as Jerry looked out into the calm seas. “I have a question. You say you’re the Devil’s number one, right?”
“Not anymore,” Dice said sadly.
“Are you doing all of this because someone else took that spot from you?”
“Psh, no!”
Jerry arched a brow at Dice, causing him to groan.
“Okay, maybe a little. Hunter had taken that spot actually. He had done everything Big D wanted, but I knew there was something off with him. What he offered Big D was too good to be true. I had to find out for myself if what I’m feeling or thinking was valid. Turned out it was. I thought that if I tell Big D about my ‘discoveries’, he could get me back into his number one spot. Guess that backfired, huh?”
“Either that or he thinks you’re rebelling against him by freeing the prisoners and fighting with us,” Jerry responded.
“But I didn’t do that to spite him! I did it to fight Hunter and his cult of maniacs!”
“That doesn’t matter to him. He sees that you freed the prisoners and if you think Hunter has that much influence over the Devil…which I highly doubt…the Devil might be inclined to believe Hunter more since Hunter probably did more things the Devil wanted than you did. I honestly don’t think he values you at all. He wouldn’t be so quick to shoot you if he does value you. When the time comes and if it were your life on the line or Hunter’s, he would choose Hunter since he’s done more ‘useful’ things than you have.”
“But I’ve delivered souls before and they’re just as subtle as how Hunter does it. And it has worked until those cups showed up,” King Dice grumbled. “Since then…I guess I got myself out of touch and I’m not even sure what I’m even doing.”
Jerry frowned and looked at the water. “You’ll figure it out. You’re the King Dice after all. I’m sure you’ll figure out something eventually.”
There was a brief silence while Dice smiled at the creature next to him.
“What’s your name? I didn’t catch it,” Dice asked Jerry.
“Jerry.”
“Thanks, Jerry.”
“No problem.”
Murray walked out onto the deck with Cuphead and Mugman barely gaining consciousness from using their powers earlier with Elder Kettle following them.
Cassidy noticed and smiled brightly to see Mugman. “Mugsy!”
Mugman lifted his head up just in time to see her jump into his arms. He nearly stumbled from her weight suddenly being pressed against him, but he embraced her anyway.
“Are you okay?” Cassidy replied while cupping his porcelain face.
“I’m fine now that you’re here,” Mugman responded with a love-sick smile. She smiled, blushed, and purred. She gave him kisses by licking his big blue nose. Mugman giggled. “C-Cassi, that tickles!” She rubbed her head against his with her purrs growing louder, making him giggle a little more.
The group smiled at them while hearing something booming from the sky.
Ribby looked up at the clouds. “Huh, I wonder what’s going on.”
“‘ave ye taken the ferry this far out into the ocean afore?” Brineybeard asked Ribby.
“Eh, not really,” Ribby responded.
“Guys…I think we’re approaching a storm,” Canteen uttered, pointing at the darkness ahead of them, lightened up by lightning strikes on the water to reveal turbulent waves up ahead.
Ribby widened his eyes. “I’m sure everything will be fine.”
“Wha’ do ye mean that everythin’ will be fine? Look at it! Thar’s goin’ t’ be a storm up ahead ‘n the ferry could only take so much water afore it sinks!” Brineybeard shouted at the frog.
“We should try to avoid the storm,” Elder Kettle suggested.
“Impossible. We can nah get around the storm. The rogue waves will consume us if we try t’ run from it,” Brineybeard responded.
“Guys…” Canteen uttered in fear.
Everyone looked to see their first rogue waves.
“EVERYBODY, TAKE COVER!” Ribby screamed for the others to go inside of the ferry. It was already too late as the first wave crashed into the ferry boat, knocking it back halfway before it would land right back into the water. Everyone sighed in relief except for Canteen and Brineybeard.
“LOOK OUT!!” Canteen screamed, watching the wave crashed ahead of them and rushing towards the small ferry. Luckily for them, the ferry was able to hobbled over it, rocking back and forth.
Dice glanced ahead and saw another wave towering over them. “WE’RE GOING TO SINK!!!”
“TAKE COVER!” Brineybeard yelled. Everyone held on for dear lives, closing their eyes to accept their fates. Cuphead brought Natalie and Aurora behind him to protect them while Mugman pulled Cassidy behind him and used himself as a shield, his hand reached out towards the water.
The water strangely bend to Mugman’s hand, letting the ferry ride over the wave and slid down into the water.
Ribby noticed with his brow raised. “WHAT THE—?!” They soon ran into another rogue wave, taller than the last. However, the tall wave soon let the ferry ride over it, crashing on the other side where it wouldn’t hit the ferry.
“The waters! They be nah crashin’ into us!” Brineybeard pointed out.
Ribby turned to ferry from the inside. “CROAKS! STEP ON IT!”
Croaks, steering the ferry, pushed onward through the storm.
Mugman fluttered his eyes opened and looked to see his hand glowing blue and the waters glowing blue, submitting to his control.
Cuphead noticed this with a bright smile. “WHOA, MUGSY!!! YOU’RE CONTROLLING THE WATER!”
“WHATEVER YOU’RE DOING, KEEP IT UP!!” Porkrind yelled for Mugman.
Mugman’s nose started to bleed from controlling the waves throughout the storm and Murray noticed this.
“Son, don’t hurt yourself!” Murray shouted.
Mugman didn’t listen as they got over to the other rogue wave, however it was a bit rocky and crashed down with them on top of the wave, shoving them forward.
Cassidy hanged onto Mugman when the water started to flood the deck.
Chalice fell off the ferry, but she was saved by Canteen grabbing her arm and pulling her up. He smiled at her with a blush.
“Now, we’re even!” Canteen said.
Chalice smirked at him.
Mugman breathed heavily until he collapsed on his knees.
“Mugman!” everyone called out as the last rogue wave crashed into them from the side, tearing the ferry apart wood by wood. Everyone was knocked out of the ferry by the huge rogue wave, drowning them in the ocean.
Everything went black.

here im once again, tbh i feel the comic is startying to feel like te AC movie. Also interested on the "Who is the fhater?" thing going on. And yeah we have another one on the bingo "family problems"
My thoughts on Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
Official English translation (the free chapters anyway) here
Kenway Daddy Issues plays a major part in this one, that's for sure.
My main takeaway is…
Ah. I’ve been unnecessarily torturing Desmond because I've desynced soooo many times due to fall damage… Sorry, Desmond.
But see, that’s my problem with this setup though.
This seems… too dramatic?
Because let’s remember that at this point, we already have the Animus that is being used by Abstergo Entertainment AND it's a mainly a headset. (Let's remember this is the Animus that they used to check Edward's memories back in Black Flag as well so it works with Edward's memories so this isn't a case of "oh those Animus can't watch memories like the big ones" because these headset Animi were the main Animus that Black Flag, Rogue, Unity and Syndicate used)
But Noa’s Animus as seen above looks more like Abstergo’s Animus from AC1 with its overhead transparent screen-like thing and the fact that it keeps the subject flat.
It's even look more similar to the one Desmond was forced to use than the Animus Layla stole in Origin:
(We're not comparing it to the Odyssey and Valhalla Animus because those have been modified by Layla and her team.)
So this mean, in terms of looks, Noa's Animus is most similar to an older Animus version.
This is weird because why is the Templars or Abstergo using a variation (and deadlier version) of an old model?
My theory is that they’re a rogue team and this entire thing has not been approved by Abstergo at all because there is one important plot point that they have yet to tackle:
“Why do they need Noa Kim’s genetic memories in the first place?”
The memory they’re looking for is from 1725
AND Noa’s DNA states specifically that he has Iroquois DNA
Then that means he came from the Edward-Haytham-Ratonhnhaké:ton line because that’s more believable than “Oh, Edward had a one-night stand/affair with someone before/while he’s married to Tessa AND just so happened to have an Iroquois ancestor LIKE Ratonhnhaké:ton”
This means that Haytham was probably born prematurely for this entire thing to work since we do know Edward was still in Macau on February 1725 and Haytham was born in December 1725.
Aaaannndd we’re back to the Desmond is Noa’s biological dad theory OR the William Miles is Noa’s biological dad theory BUT here’s the thing though.
If he is Ratonhnhaké:ton’s descendant then that means any and all genetic memory that Noa might have of Edward Kenway is in Desmond’s genetic memories EVEN IF they are not ‘closely’ related (I call bullshit if they’re not AND I don’t even like the theory that Desmond is Noa’s biological father, ELIJAH IS SEVERELY HORRIBLY NEGLECTED BY UBISOFT ALREADY!!!) because if Ratonhnhaké:ton is both Noa and Desmond’s ancestors, even if they had different ancestors after Ratonhnhaké:ton, their genetic memories of Edward stops at the same place: the conception of Haytham Kenway.
This means that there’s no need for Abstergo to take Noa because they still have Sample 17.
The same thing they used to watch Edward’s memories in Black Flag in the first place.
Abstergo would have a better time getting some poor intern(s) checking Edward Kenway’s later memories (Noob style) than
Kidnapping Noa Kim
Hiding him somewhere
Making sure no one would look for him
Forcing him into the Animus
And doing all this manipulation and threatening bullshit
In conclusion, I propose the following theory:
The people who kidnapped Noa are a rogue team affiliated with the Templars and/or Abstergo and are doing this on their own without the Inner Sanctum’s approval.
(Oh, and ‘Shimazu’ is acting like a bitch version of Sofia Rikkin and this does have AC Movie vibes to it and, I’m saying this as someone who rewatches the AC movie whenever I’m stressed to relax, that is not a comparison this webtoon would probably want to have right now)
#every time this webtoon tries to do something with the animus#i get a headache#because…#if you read my fics#you know how much i love to play around with the animus and the bleeding effect#but this whole desyncing thing hurting the subject#is too dramatic for me#assassin's creed#teecup analyze more than necessary#noa kim#edward kenway#teecup analyze and reacts to acft webtoon

74 - Gemini Fights and Supernatural Fates
Part 75
Gemini Runaway
Tag list ask to be added @icefrye19 @secretdreamlandmentality
Jacob and I just stared silently at Kai siphoning off his little sister until I called his name. “Let her go, Kai!”
“What makes you think that I’ll listen to you?” He asked.
“Because I can do this, Motus.” Launching my hand upward I throw him against the wall harshly.
“ You think your magic will be able to hold me back for long, dear cousin, “ Kai said, smirking at me. “I’m more powerful than you.”
“ You don’t know what I’m capable of, cousin “ I said, flashing my vampire veins at him.
He stared at me in disbelief at what he was seeing. “ You’re a heretic.” But, how could you possibly unlock such power like that.”
“That’s a long story you won’t have time to hear.”
“ If you don’t leave now. My sister Rae will rip your heart out your chest “Jacob said, removing his hand from mine.
“She wouldn't, “ Kai said, scoffing. “ She’s not a killer, she’s far too goody two shoes.”
Vamping in front of my cousin I held him by his throat against the wall. “Your father made me merge with my brother. And then he came after my daughters. So you have no idea who I am anymore!”
“Motus.” He grabbed my shoulder siphoning off of me where he threw me away from him.
Kai lowered his hand for a second while walking towards me. “If you’re trying to make me feel sorry for you. It won’t work. I’ve been the black sheep of the family for far too long and now here you are being loved by them all.”
“I wouldn’t call being forced to merge with my brother Jaocb as being loved. Now take this asshole, ah sha Lana.” Throwing my hand forward he grabbed his head in pain.
“Bitch! Errox femus.” He used a bone breaking spell snapping one of my legs.
“I’m only going to tell you this once, Parker. “ I said, glaring at him, popping my leg back into place. “Stay away from me, Jacob and my family. If you come near any of them I will tear you apart. You won’t have to worry about our family coming after you, I’ll do it myself!”
He chuckles raising his hand again chanting again. “Phasmatos superous ‘em animi..”
“Ah!” Holding my head in agony I holler out for Jacob. “J!”
My twin brother ran forward in front of me using his own magic. “Vessera a portus.” Kai dropped his hands when metal chain’s appeared around his wrists pinning him down on his knees on the ground.
“Aww that’s cute, little J. Fractos” Kai smiled proud at his little effort unlocking the chains as if they were nothing.
Rising to my feet while Kai was distracted I got into a fighting stance. Flipping my hair out of my eyes I raised my hand up again. "Lihednat dolchitni."
"Phasmatos navaro pulsus sanguinox…" Kai gasped beginning to suffocate for air yet he managed to hit me with another spell that I didn't recognize.
Dropping to my knees I clawed at my skin, wincing feeling my blood burning on fire. "Kai why are you doing this - to me. I thought you wanted to hurt Jo!"
"Oh I do. But you see Raelyn, I want to hurt you first." He walked over to me raising his other hand causing Jacob to hold his head wincing. "Josette accepted you and your brother even though I am her sibling. The two twins whose mother left the Coven get to be a part of the family and I don't."
"Urgh! I might feel sorry for you if you weren't trying to kill people. At least my husband never wanted to murder his siblings!" I groaned feeling the burning getting worse.
Jacob gasped through pain looking at me. "Rae, can I do…Averto insiguinae a tor a ver."
"We can't poison his blood, J. If he merges with Jo he will kill her when he starts dying if he wins." I shoot him a quick no.
Kai tapped his fingers together in thought. "Hmm wonder if this really works, Espirimus paratis." He waved his hand at me.
I vamped quickly away before the spell could take effect. Grabbing the wall I stand by Liv who was just watching the magic fight. "You shouldn't have taught me your blood trick, Kai. Phasmatos navaro pulsus sanguinox, Reboundus!"
"Ahhh!" Kai was clawing at his skin where I used his own blood boil spell against him.
Liv rushed past me helping my brother up to his feet. "J, repeat after me when I tell you."
"Got it." He nodded.
Kai moaned, getting to his feet. "I'm impressed, Rae Rae. But like I said earlier you are too good to actually kill me. That's the sad thing about being so powerful. You'll never have the nerve to use it -"
"Inpulsa!" Launching my hands forward Kai's body got thrown into the bar. Glass bottles shattered when his body was cut up with the impact. "Do it now!"
Liv and Jacob clasped hands together chanting. "Imperium monstrum.”
"Using little Liv to try and stop me. How pathetic - uh!" Kai got ti his feet hitting a barrier with his hands. "Ah you know this won't hold me for long."
Walking over to the pair I crossed my arms over my chest smirking at my cousin. "I'm well aware of that. But it will be long enough for us to find the Ascendant and put your ass back in your prison world when the next eclipse comes. So goodbye Kai." The three of us vamped back to Liv's place where she locked the door.
"Thank you for helping me. But now with him out it means Luke and I don't have to merge." She sighed sitting down on the bed.
Clicking my tongue I hated to disappoint her. "Liv, he has to go back."
"Are you serious?" She raised her tone.
"I am. Kai will kill Jo and I can’t let that happen. I may not be linked to the Coven anymore. But it doesn't mean I can't care about my cousin's."
Jacob's phone rang where he answered it. "Caroline, what - wait, slow down. Alina did what. Uh okay I tell her."
"What's going on? That sounded like too quick of a phone call to be any good." I pointed out eyeing my brother.
He put his phone in his back pocket. "It was Caroline apparently Alina got into a fight with a kid on the playground. She almost killed her when she shoved her into the monkey bars."
"Geeez. It's already happening and she hasn't even triggered her curse yet." Running a hand through my hair Liv and Jacob stared at me.
He tilted his head. "Rae, what are you talking about. I thought the twins were just siphons like us."
"They're not. A witch way back when told us otherwise. Right after Alina nearly set a boy on fire for messing with his younger sister." I explained to him flashing back to our day in Chicago.
Carrying Missy in my arms we had taken a family trip to Chicago since the girls had been through a lot the past few days. Hope and Alina were holding their fathers hands. "Are we sure I can't just answer why she lost her temper like that. You haven't used another witch since we met."
"That's true, love. But I trust this witch very much." He told me sitting our daughters down at one of the tables in the bar.
"You gotta be kidding me." Whipping my head around I noticed a tan skinned woman with short white hair. "I thought we were done after I helped you make hybrids. And you can't have these cuties in here."
Klaus smiled resting his hands on the table. "So a hybrid walks into a bar, says to the bartender…"
Gloria cut him off looking in my direction. "Stop. You may be invincible, but that doesn't make you funny. Who are you girly, I can sense magic in you."
"Half witch yes. But…vampire too." I opened my mouth showing her my fangs lightly smiling. Tilting my head I was confused though. "I thought you said she was an older witch. No offense but I am a little confused. Shouldn't you be…"
Gloria smiled at me. "Old and dead? Now if I die, who's going to run this place, huh?"
Klaus tilted his head at me, moving down on a knee to be level with our daughters. "Gloria's a very powerful witch indeed."
"I can slow the aging down some Herbs and spells. But don't worry, it'll catch up to me one day." She explains clasping her hands together in front of her. "Now, why exactly are you in my bar this time hybrid?"
Crossing my arms over my chest I sighed to the older witch. "Gloria, our daughters here are born with magic. But lately we've noticed that there's aggression in them. Specifically Alina. Can you tell us if there's something we're not seeing?"
"I can try, doll's come here." She waved to the girls sitting down at a table. She waved her hand creating some light candles around them. "You two come over too."
Missy asked her. "What do we do?"
"Take my hands, sweeties." She laid her palms out on the table and the three girls placed their hands in hers.
Klaus and I stood over her. "What about us, love?"
"Since your girl is a siphon, take her hand. Then she can help you enter my mind." She explains where I put my hand over their's.
The second I do I gasped seeing images flashing through my mind. Gloria's voice rang through my head when I first saw Hope standing in an area with storage units. Thunder and lightning flashed behind her before a set of fangs came out with her golden eyes. "You're eldest will become a Tribrid. Witch, werewolf and vampire…"
"The second will be…a werewitch. Half witch and half vampire." Klaus sucked in a breath at her words. We watched a teenager version of Alina breaking her bones and transforming into a dark fur wolf.
Finally that left innocent little Missy. "The third will be like her mother. A heretic, vampire and witch." Gloria released their hands where we all just stared at her. The witch would later tell us she came back from the Other Side to deliver us those visisions.

Frisk Hart Clips #63
[The Rainbow Kids are walking into Monster Town after going into the Underground.]
Yellow: Despite our encounters with the Underground in the past, I think I’m getting used to the frequent visits for aiding the Monsters.
Blue: Those Slimes know how to clean the Waterfall instantly and keep the Underground clean.
Green: If humanity had a slime in their house, the grim in bathrooms and kitchens won’t be a problem anymore.
Purple: (writes down in his notebook) Oh, yeah. That is every cleaner, maid, butler, janitor, and housewife’s dream. But then it would leave the bankruptcy to the clean product companies.
Orange: Not to the ones we need to wash our hands, hair, and bodies.
Purple: Good point.
[At Monster Town’s Square, the Monster Family welcomes back the Rainbow Kids with smiles and waves.]
Asriel: Hi, guys. How was the trip to the Waterfall?
Flowey: (smirked) You know? I know a couple of Echo Flower babes at the Waterfall. They can’t get enough of my pheromones.
Chara: (annoyed while the Six rolled their eyes and Frisk smiled) You are disgusting, Flowey. You better not traumatize us with your “Flower Gal Interaction” stories.
Flowey: (smiled) Now that you mentioned, there was this time when I moved into the greenhouse, I met this cutie called Lan the Lotus. She doesn’t talk too much, but-
Chara: (yelled) SHUT UP!!!
Toriel: Chara, languagege!
Chara: Yes, Mom.
Sans: By the way, Cyan, who’s your friend?
Cyan: (confused) Friend?
Papyrus: Did you bring a baby smile back from the Waterfall?
Rainbow Kids: (confused) Eh?
[The Rainbow Kids turned around and looked down to see a baby cyan slime happily muffling and moving around like the mushroom in the Castle of Illusion 2013 remake.]
Frisk: Huh? How long has it been following us?
Cyan: I recognize this slime. Poor cutie had difficulty reaching the garbage to eat, so I gave it plenty.
Orange: (the baby slime jumps and down happily) Well, it seems to have taken a shine to you, Cyan. (the slime then jumps into Cyan’s arms and snuggles her) Very much.
Alphys: Hmmm…I think it wants to form a contract.
Blue: (confused) Contract?
Purple: (excited) As in wanting to become Cyan’s familiar?! Those animes and mangas were ahead of their time again!
Green: Humans and Monsters did that before?
Alphys: During ancient times, Humans would contract with Monsters to create good partnerships during the Monster and Human War. But since it’s been years, no one knows if it’s possible to make it, and it’s no longer required since you can quickly develop friendships now.
Cyan: My Dad doesn’t allow me to have a pet, but he never mentioned having a familiar.
Yellow: You want to try it, Cyan?
Cyan: (pets the baby slime) Judging how sweet it is, I can’t say no to something so precious.
Undyne: From what I read about the Human and Monster Contract, it says you need to recite a spell and have both foreheads touch.
Alphys: (takes out a book) Luckily, I check out this book on the spell. Since it's written in Latin, I’ll read it for you. Okay, have your foreheads touch.
[When Cyan and the baby slime’s foreheads, a cyan-blue light circles beneath them as yellow light illuminates where the foreheads touch. Soon, water surrounds the pair, leaving everyone amazed at what they’re seeing.]
Frisk: (starry-eye and records with her phone) Friendship is magical.
Alphys: (hand opened before the pair) Mentibus in unum coalescant animis. (With minds becoming one, may their souls connect.)
Vinculum cum cordis effectu. (A bond with heartfelt effect.)
Magia componitur et aeternaliter communicatur. (Magic combined and eternally shared.)
Firma autem fidelitate hec contractus declaretur. (Now, by strong loyalty, may this contract be declared.)
[Soon, the water formed a blonde teardrop mark on the baby slime’s forehead, and a cyan teardrop mark formed on Cyan’s right palm. The water and a light circle disappeared in a gust of wind. At Madame Meh’s shop, she sits on the porch and has tea.]
Madam Meh: (the wind blew onto her face, which surprised her, but she smiled) After all these years, someone formed a Human and Monster pact. And who would guess that my darling apprentice in clairvoyant, Clara-Lynn Prior, would be the first…but me. Hehehe…
[Back at Monster Town, everyone was amazed.]
Cyan: (holding the baby slime) Did it work?
Chara: Water clear it did. Check your hand and your partner’s forehead.
Cyan: (by looking at her hand and her familiar) No joke. What should I name it?
Frisk: (smiled) I got some name ideas! Slimera, Slimador, Slimyia, Slimore.
Cyan: I’ll go with the first one. My baby slime will be forever named Slimera. (Slimera goes on top of Cyan’s head in glee) I can tell she loves it.
Alphys: (hands Cyan a book) You might need this book on Slimes to get to know your familiar.
Purple: (biting on a napkin) I’m so jealous. I hope I get a familiar in the future.
Asgore: To find the right familiar, you must gain its trust and share the same magical association. Cyan and Slimera are both associated with water. Although in the past, no one ever had got a brilliant Monster to form a contract, they can communicate as we do.
Purple: So, for me to get one, I need my familiar to be associated with clouds, snow, or ice.
Orange: Mine has to be with fire.
Blue: I do space magic, so will there be a familiar that can associate with that?
Green: Probably something alien, planet, star, sun, moon, or any other outer space. As for me, I can do plants and earth, and it is possible to encounter such a creature.
Yellow: I can do wind and electricity. Is there a familiar that can get for both?
Frisk and Chara: (look at each other in worry before pointing to each other) What about us?
Toriel: Hmm…True. You don’t have elemental magic.
Chara: So does Blue!
Undyne: Actually, there’s an element of space called ether. So, it is.
Chara: Darn!
Sans: Maybe you need a familiar who is dark as your Soul. Hehehehe…
Chara: Not funny!
Papyrus: No, wait. Sans might be on to something.
Sans: I am?
Chara: He is?
Alphys: The Skeleton Brothers are correct. Darkness and Light are part of the elements. Frisk would get a familiar with light magic, and Chara could get a Darkness familiar.
Frisk: (smiled) That sounds right.
Chara: Future familiars, we’ll be waiting for you.
