Kevin Day, who knows them from being family friends, introduces them to his school friends Nicky, Aaron, and Andrew. Andrew will help protect them from the school bully, Riko (another family 'friend'), Kevin tells them.

Neil doesn't need help, because while Andrew stands in front of his family and Kevin, Neil stands in front of Jean.

Eventually Jean stops being covered in band-aids. Neil, however, continues to be covered in band-aids until they're all in college and still causing a myriad of problems, with more new friends to cause a ruckus with.

recently saw an insta post that made a lot of things make sense for me. I have ADHD and anxiety, so my anxiety meds have an effect on my libido, but I'm gonna talk about ADHD and libido for a minute here. Sometimes we forget about sex, sometimes we aren't interest in it, and sometimes we hyper fixate on it. I thought there was something wrong with me for so long because, even before I was sexually active, I have had this cycle of being feral and being entirely uninterested. Now, I know why and I don't feel as shitty about it

I don't think we talk enough about the masks Bruce Wayne/Batman wears and how they translate into the specific spaces that are associated with his character. That is, Batman and Brucie Wayne are both masks, but they aren't torn off immediately upon reaching one specific space. And what about the one who's just Bruce? The man sitting at the computer in the Cave isn't just Batman, but he's definitely more Batman than Bruce. The man patrolling Gotham is all Batman, and the man at a gala is all Brucie, but what about the man on the Cave stairs leading back up to Wayne Manor? He's Bruce-barely-Batman, but not much of Brucie. But the man reading the paper at the breakfast table in the Manor, decidedly not mentioning anything related to Batman or vigilante work, isn't wholly Bruce then, is he? He's a little Brucie, because Brucie doesn't know about Batman, beyond what he reads in the paper.

Somebody give me the rights to the LOTR cinematic productions so I can create a coming of age dramedy taking place during the seventeen years between Bilbo's 111th birthday party and Frodo leaving the Shire. I'd call it "The Shire Seventeen". It would not only include the Conspiracy as a backdrop but also a bunch of the development and growing up that was probably done within those seventeen years, that is entirely unrelated to the Ring.

It's a whole seventeen years worth of low-stakes hobbit Shire drama and shenanigans, guys-- I need that cozy comedy content.
