#kingdom hearts dream drop distance #khddd #symphony of sorcery #scenery #my gif #i originally planned on splitting this set in two and wanted to create separate posts for both sides of this world #but i was surprised that i struggled with that and many of my shots didn't feel distinct enough when i put them all together #dunno how i messed that up so bad since this world has so much going for it #so i had to scrap a good chunk of what i made but i actually think it looks better this way so maybe it's not such a bad thing #sora's side is on the left (except for the last gif) and riku's is on the right #it gives you a better feel for how varied and different these magical realms are #and yeah that's what they're called #anyways i'm so glad this world exists because it's so experimental and different #everything from the visuals to the music and how sora and riku's battle sounds are instead replaced by more music #as if they're composing it themselves #which of course ties into how they must find and collect their sound ideas #it's all so incredible and works perfectly for a game centering around dreams #i hope we can see more unique worlds like it in future games too

Anyone interested in buying isopuppy plushies?

Either as a pattern or actual sewn-by-me toys. Because I have crocheted So Many Toys over my children, and I am thinking it's time to go back to sewing for awhile, but I should also stop rampantly making toys without homes to send them to. So. Casual interest check. I am absolutely making one for myself; this just determines if I should go through the effort of making an actual pattern so I can replicate the process.

#for those unaware E/A decided that we suffered enough and let us buy reformatted editions of og si/ms and si/ms 2 #which for bitches like me who STILL prefers ts2's gameplay over t/s3 and 4's gameplay (but likes a lot of the other #parts of those two more like the added diversity and everything which t/s2 does lack bc it was last updated in 2008)#in t/s2 it was still clearly a passion project whereas in t/s3 like halfway through the packs you could tell they stopped caring #t/s3 still had the storyline element tho that t/s4 just doesnt #but t/s2's lore is so!!!#the s/ims r/esource has once again proven itself a disappointment bc ppl last made content in like 2013 which is like still good for a game #again last updated in 2008 but yknow #and then made impossible to play so E/A released the whole collection for free after breaking the original buy and now even that doesnt wor #i had to reprogram the entire game last time i tried playing it which is why the price of the not even really a remaster #all they did was update the gameplay so it works on modern pcs (mostly)#which is worth it to me bc im not a great programmer and do not have the time to reprogram a game for three days to play it #and it was my favorite it honestly still is my favorite thing in the world is #playing v/eronaville and ruining shakespeare by making r/omeo and t/ybalt enemies to l/overs and having j/uliet take revenge w m/ercutio #only to get w p/uck its a whole thing but anyways im im so happy at least the m/od the s/ims community never abandoned me #bc t/sr certainly tf did. tumbs seems to have quite a bit of cc too which is so!!!#when my harddrive w all my old gifs and stuff broke i also lost all the CC i made all my meshes and everything #and unfortunately they did not bring body shop back like i wanted i doubt they will so i do not know how to make meshes without it #making custom sims is gonna be a fucking bitch without it actually bc bodyshop is my favorite thing its way way better than ts4's maker #i ust im so happy. also annoyed by the lack of body shop but so happy. i know a lot of ppl are pissed they're charging for it but its worth #it to me. and people are making si/ms 2 machinima again which is also a favorite thing. most of the old ones do NOT hold up anymore #anyways how do i bully E/A into bringing back b/ody s/hop i'll even pay for it at this point make it work for all four games #or at least 2-4 like #i honestly dont play 3 much im a 2 girlie and have been w 4 off and on bc i love it but the lacking is so clear as #someone whos been there since the start yknow but #asidjiasdifbeiadpisadhasidhasipdaspodhifoeajcapsdjsa #out.

every time i think of system jason i think about. well first i think about how jason todd is a separate alter but jason todd is also the person because thats the name they own but the main host for like 20 years goes by jason and thats his name and. anyways. next i think about the ways he dissociates. but THEN i think about the littles/teens/even some adults that will only respond to robin or their name, and if they dont have a name, just robin, and maybe jason

sometimes its just a game of firing off names. some of them only respond to red hood, some of them respond to jason todd in full specifically, some of them respond to peter. theyre bad at names and in the early days its hard to figure out whos who (both in the system and out), too, so sometimes theyll just stare at whoevers talking to them with squinted eyes until they say a name they recognize as their own. some of them only respond to Specific Nicknames, some of them love people besides dick and bruce and alfred (and sometimes damian and tim and steph, but not duke, or...you get the picture) because they all love their family, even if they dont know them, but they dont Know Them. and some of them only respond to jaylad or jaybird or little bird, some of the older ones only respond to damian. its definitely a trial and error kind of thing. usually they can interact with everyone just fine, but some days they find jason in the kitchen and when tim tries to talk to him he looks away and creeps into a corner of the kitchen and they have to find dick and then bruce (bad choice) and then damian. its the trauma conversation but its also the memory conversation and the 'who are you to yourself and who do people know you as' conversation. i have a lot of thoughts abt jason w osdd/did (preferably did that sounds more like him) it does things to my brain. this post was supposed to be abt alters that respond to robin and then i just. kept talking. oops

oh my god the thought i just had. some of the littles dont know any of them and just hole themselves away in the library and everyones like 'ok has anyone seen jason he skittered off earlier and he looked fucking Scared we are Worried' but they learned early on that looking for him is a Bad Idea because hell get scared. so they just have to wait until jason texts one of them or smth like 'bad news weve got a new kid and they dont know any of you. good news we know what they respond to. bad news its a nickname from our mom most of us cant bear to hear. good news were getting them a name. bad news we cant leave the library yet. were alive though' and thats all they have to go off until he trudges out of the library three hours later asking what the hell happened because the little and a protector had a whole Convo then threw jason back in front to fend for himself

Still not over the fact that Glenn or Geoff or whatever his name was nerfed melee speed just so we could “see the animations.” Like buddy, how do I tell you that I use only a few select stance mods and do not care about the animations so much as if they open up melee finishers, do slam attacks, etc. The animations are nice, but nerfing melee speed wasn’t the right move.

If you are gonna nerf melee speed for non-balance reasons, at the very least buff the melee speed mods so that at the end of the day the endgame builds are the same.

huh i just realised. we don't get imposter syndrome anymore nowadays when posting about our system

#back when we had just newly discovered ourselves #(or rather; discovered ourselves to be plural; stayed in the closet abt it for a year and a half; experienced An Event;#went through a full system overhaul; the new guys made a new blog to post system stuff)#but anyway back when we had just started posting about ourselves (and kind of even up to the third cycle with Ro and the others)#we felt like. wrong. posting abt it. like we'd get chased out of the community #now we're a bit older and more experienced #and we know so much more about ourselves and about systems #we actually put in the effort to learn and it *stuck*#and now we feel totally comfortable posting as a collective #i mean we're still paranoid about like. leaving this safe little bubble of nice people I've found on the internet #but I've gotten a bit more confident and am more able to reach out to people where i was almost completely unable to send asks before #like we actually split a girl specifically made for sending anon asks bc it was so stressful 😭😭😭😭#now we sometimes even have the courage to ask stuff off anon which makes us feel proud we've made so much progress :)#it might not look like much but for us it's a huge step that makes the rest of the journey so much easier #maybe we'll be able to start talking to people regularly again :)

A thing I pre-ordered months ago has shipped!

What's the thing?

Keepsake Quilting, and several other quilt companies/stores, put a sort of gift box together with fabric, notions, patterns, and gift cards in them. You don't know what you're getting, making it a surprise. I have never purchased one because they're expensive. This was 50% upfront, 50% when shipped, for a total of $150. Considering how much is in it, and what reviews were left the last several years, it's a steal. Plus, I wanna treat myself after having such a stressful and unpleasant year.

My mom and one of aunts have ordered such boxes in the past, but according to my mom, they're disappointing because she has so many of the things in the package, or no use for many of them. Rulers (some of which cost $30), needles, rotary cutters and extra blades (blades can be $10/each, new cutters up to $50), fabric marking tools (chalk pencils, disappearing ink, etc), precut fabric collections (jelly rolls can be $80, fat quarter collections up to $100 depending on number of FQs), and yardage ($12.99-$21.99/yard). She's been disappointed by "ugly" fabric too many times.

I, on the other hand, have significantly fewer tools. I make things for people to buy, and some folks love fabric I cannot stand (like x-mas and patriotic prints). There have been fabrics I consider well and truly hideous, and those I list in my shop or sell to people here. One person's trash is another's treasure, right? I've met people who think pastels are ugliest things to have ever existed. I think baby pink and green military camouflage look fantastic together, as well as turquoise and light hemp brown or terracotta and peacock blue. My mom finds them hideous. I think pink and any shade of brown look terrible together, or red and khaki (likely from working at Target and seeing is everywhere). Again, personal taste.

If any of you ever fancy treating me to one of these random collections of fabric and/or notions, feel free to do so. They're the sort of surprise I enjoy (that and people purchasing my work, especially from my shop). Sure, there are things that may he of no use to me, but others can use them. Nothing goes to waste.

This package will be arriving on November 18th, and has me giggling with excitement!

#words from the artist #my year has been filled with my husband nearly dying and us having thousands of dollars in medical bills to pay AFTER #the financial aid program forgave three of the six bills. we have around $5k of thag left to pay off #and one of the bills has gone to collections #plus my ear issues that cleared up after over six months of torment. my husband had to quit his previous job because working in #kitchens was slowly killing him and is now working fulltime in theory but not getting enough hours #i've sold virtually nothing and have had to beg for aid because not enough money due to lack of hours and lack of sales #my asthma throwing a fit and my sewing room being entirely too hot to work in and remaining that way for weeks at a time #then my left wrist being injured and leaving me unable to do virtually anything.#my husband then being taken to court by Unemployment three years after receiving the money. oh and being denied Unemployment #this year so for 10 weeks were on thoughts and prayers while he hunted for a non-kitchen job #plus his major surgery over the summer that was 100% covered by financial aid because we opted for a different hospital #there have been good things like he has insurance now and i'm abke to walk without feeling like i'm walking on glass #plus a few commissions over the summer. but those have been among the very few good things. oh and he won his court case #i would just like to have the rest of the year be filled with good things like all or most of my listed quilts selling. someone #commissioning me to finish the quilts i have listed as available to handquilting. the tops are finished but if i finish the quilts #completely they're gonna take up sooooo much space. even folded and rolled up. i store them in plastic bins to protect them but the #bins take up a lot of space. people praise my work and tell me hoe much they wanna buy it or will buy the things as soon as i list them...#and then no one buys them and the things just hang in my closet or rest in a bin. it's extremely disheartening to be repeatedly #disappointed. it has made me cry and question if it's worth making anything at all.

BUY OUR GAME BC WE SAID ALEXANDRIA & MIMICKED SOME BUILDINGS #YOU'LL BUY IT AND LIKE IT JUST BC IT SAYS SOLUTION NINE LIKE ZIDANE EVEN WHEN IT HAS NOTHING IN LINE WITH FF9- YOU DUMB TOOL #the solution 9 plot is just the twist from ff9 but if it had nothing to do with anything aside from being one giant reference #it's never made to fit xiv itself and it only appears at literally the last quarter of the story with virtually zero mention of it before #and then to drag it out even more they added a sprinkle of ffx fayth but make them disconnected from the themes and have no personal connec #with the protagonist (s)#everything before this is pure seasonal anime lowest grade shounen tropes with no seasoning bc it's played so predictably flat and straight #zero novelty beyond fringe ideas that just get mentioned w/o much writing behind them which this game loves doing #they love mentioning shit just to postpone it to the last second when it's suddenly important despite having no depth attached before #saves money on actually having to write a complete story #they even got Wish.com Steiner in here lmao #if anything the time for them to rip off IX was in EW because those stories actually have themes in common to make some sense #also the way characters are expendable to the story in the sense the game forgets they exist after they play their role #is at the worst it's ever been- they drop even long time main characters like flies once their exposition is done #it's so abrupt too just when you think a character might contribute more they're already gone #this expac is everything bad about the game which makes it worse than bad- it's unbearably boring and tedious #even characters that were HYPED IN THE TRAILER literally only show up for a few lines of dialogue then leave

Nope now it’s at the point that i’m shocked that people off tt don’t know what’s going down. I have no reach but i’ll sum it up anyway.

SCOTUS is hearing on the constitutionality of the ban as tiktok and creators are arguing that it is a violation of our first amendment rights to free speech, freedom of the press and freedom to assemble.

SCOTUS: tiktok bad, big security concern because china bad!

Tiktok lawyers: if china is such a concern why are you singling us out? Why not SHEIN or temu which collect far more information and are less transparent with their users?

SCOTUS (out loud): well you see we don’t like how users are communicating with each other, it’s making them more anti-american and china could disseminate pro china propaganda (get it? They literally said they do not like how we Speak or how we Assemble. Independent journalists reach their audience on tt meaning they have Press they want to suppress)

Tiktok users: this is fucking bullshit i don’t want to lose this community what should we do? We don’t want to go to meta or x because they both lobbied congress to ban tiktok (free market capitalism amirite? Paying off your local congressmen to suppress the competition is totally what the free market is about) but nothing else is like TikTok

A few users: what about xiaohongshu? It’s the Chinese version of tiktok (not quite, douyin is the chinese tiktok but it’s primarily for younger users so xiaohongshu was chosen)

Tiktok as a community has chosen to collectively migrate TO a chinese owned app that is purely in Chinese out of utter spite and contempt for meta/x and the gov that is backing them.

My fyp is a mix of “i would rather mail memes to my friends than ever return to instagram reels” and “i will xerox my data to xi jinping myself i do not care i share my ss# with 5 other people anyway” and “im just getting ready for my day with my chinese made coffee maker and my Chinese made blowdryer and my chinese made clothing and listening to a podcast on my chinese made phone and get in my car running on chinese manufactured microchips but logging into a chinese social media? Too much for our gov!” etc.

So the government was scared that tiktok was creating a sense of class consciousness and tried to kill it but by doing so they sent us all to xiaohongshu. And now? Oh it’s adorable seeing this gov-manufactured divide be crossed in such a way.

This is adorable and so not what they were expecting. Im sure they were expecting a reluctant return to reels and shorts to fill the void but tiktokers said fuck that, we will forge connections across the world. Who you tell me is my enemy i will make my friend. That’s pretty damn cool.
