I'm going to be trying the #beeswaxwraps for the first time! I got a bonus and have a large and a medium from @mightynest. They are good for one year and it takes worker bees a lot to produce a small amount of wax... Sooo, while I think these might be my answer to some problems, I think I'll still stick mainly with reusing containers (which I also try to #reduce) and using my freezer to oven glass containers (which have a very long life usage as long as I don't drop them. But the problem with them is that they do break at times and they are glass with doesn't break down. I'm not sure there is a perfect solution but I'd like to #practice the best). I know someone who made their own #diy #waxwraps and I wonder if doing this if using old clothes (#reuse) would be a little more #environmentlying helpful. Are there no bee and perhaps longer use alternatives? I've had a fab "nanna" day as I like to call it, simply put it is a day of shop wandering with intermittent tea and nibbles. It all started off with a very tasty bacon and smoked cheese eggy bread sandwich... Todays nanna day took place in nearby Melrose. Firstly I had a gander in the fabric shop which has a huge variety of prints and everything else you need fabric related. After a light bulb moment of thinking maybe I can buy some pretty fat quarters of my choosing to then turn my hand at making some #waxwraps I asked the lovely lady in the shop for her advice and she directed me to the Natural Crafts Shop on the other street. The Natural Craft Shop is full of DIY craft supplies and kits along with a wonderful collection of handmade gifts made locally and further afield. I again asked for avice and left with half a kilo of soy wax. Hungry I went to @simply__delicious__ for some Orkney ice cream and sat in the market Square enjoying every scoop. Two food stops before home, the butchers for a whole load of pies just because I love a pie, and also the Country Kitchen Deli where I tasted some superb cheeses including a good selection of local cheese and I also topped up on my lapsang souchong tea in a lovely little container from @brodies1867 Lastly I called in to the @butterfly.melrose shop which is full of wonderment, lots of beautiful gifts and the shop owner was very attentive and friendly. I realised today that there are so many brilliant local businesses nearby with beautiful products most of which are handmade locally or in Scotland and a lot are made sustainably too! Bees Wax Wraps

I have chosen Beeswax wrap as my issue to settle on. I chose this because I think it is something easy that all people can use that save plastic rubbish as well as supporting the survival of bees by becoming more reliable on their wax.

There are a few beeswax wrap businesses out there however I have chosen DeesBees and Lilybeewrap for their locality as well as their well designed products and informative websites

The lilybeewrap website seemed to focus more on the sustainable side of the wrap as well as having a more sophisticated look. It had plenty of articles and content in the website including videos, DIY etc. 

Dee’s Bees seemed to focus more on the products, the website bombarded with product information. However, the dee’s bees wraps were less expensive.

IMO the lilybeewrap appealed to me more out of the two, however in terms of my website design I think I will aim for a sophisticated/aproachable website that is more simple so that information is clear.

When researching for stats/evidence of the big impact, I found it hard to find the impact of plastic wraps specifically. However, it is clear that plastic that is not recycled is dangerous for the planet - thus, every time you reuse a wax wrap is one cling wrap/ tinfoil/ baking paper that is not being disposed of.
