Random, but can someone please make an Andrew Rannells colouring book, I want to colour the iconic little gay man.
Like Andrew from Book of Mormon, falsettos, black Monday, the new normal, and so on.
That would be amazing!!!!

The Watkins Book of Urban Legends by Gail De Vos: Book Review
Before I get to the book, indulge me in a little waffle about the subject matter … I first became aware of Urban Legends … Friend of a Friend Tales … Whale Tumour Stories … Contemporary Legends … call them what you will at a very young age. I was a monster kid into horror films and scary stories (think Mark from…

Remember Me by Lesley Pearse
☆☆☆☆☆
If you are looking for a historical romance book inspired by true events, go read this one! If you are looking for a strong, likable female lead character, good love interests, a lot of twist and turns, go read this book!
It captivated me until the last page, and I felt like I was part of the story. I grew a connection with the characters in this book. Mary Broad, our protagonist, who exalts femininity yet strength will surely stay with you long after you finish this book. I didn't want to finish it, I just wanted more.
Lesley's writing is fluid and a nice read when you want to decompress and dive deep inside a story. I was never really into historical romance until I picked up this book, but it completely changed the game for me.
Surely a new favorite book. 🤍

A pearl from the Senna Versus Prost book, featuring Derek Warwick's shunt at Monza:
Only two races earlier, Warwick had survived an enormous shunt at Monza. [...] "Back at at the pits, I went into the Arrows garage, not mine, as I was so used to going there after three years in the team. At Lotus, the boys wanted my helmet. I thought they wanted me to stop. But they just wanted to change it for my spare as it was so badly damaged. When i went out in the car again I had a splitting headache. [...] After I'd got on the grid I had to report to the Prof [dr. Sid Watkins] , I joined him in the back of the safety car. Bernie Ecclestone was in the front. The prof said that he had to ask me a few questions. "What's your name?" he asked.
"Nelson Piquet", i replied. I kept on doing this to all the questions, and Bernie was not amused. He turned round and said "If you don't answer properly, you're not racing." The Prof asked me where I was and what I was doing. Outside the window, I had a bit of help. There was a big sign saying "Monza" and there were a few racing cars around, so I passed Prof's test!"

Little snap of Watkins Books, my home, my forever paradise.
We have finally received the meditation cushions, which have now added so much color to the bookshop.
In the weekend my manager and I opened a few boxes of items that arrived in the last year or so, to find some precious little gems like handmade frames with beautiful original artwork coming from Nepal and India. I reorganised some shelves and put these frames as background and, once again, Watkins gained a lot of color. What an incredible discovery it was to find this bookshop, and how lucky I am to spend my days here!

If I had a nickel for every time there was a slasher/thriller/horror film with a murderous antagonist named Michael, I’d be strangely middle class

V. L. Locey’s Watkins Glen Gladiators series is such a special warmhearted group of stories and characters. These kinds of non-fiction library books never end up on any of my lists, because I don't read them cover-to-cover, but they're fun to flip through, and occasionally useful!
