Shalnark's penchant for recording you is really quite invasive. If the cameras he secretly placed in your apartment while he was still stalking you aren't enough proof of this, consider the fact that he's still recording you once he's kidnapped you, only he's less secretive about it now.

Now, instead of having small, discrete cameras placed into things like a stuffed animal, a book cover, or an unused outlet, they're just out in the open. The small, black cameras are clearly visible against the off-white walls of the apartment he keeps you in, standing out like a beacon. Plus, when the lights are off, the red flashing light on each is still on - taunting you from the corner of your vision, declaring that even while you're sleeping and he's not in the room, he's seeing everything.

They're everywhere, too - you've counted at least four in your bedroom space, one for each corner of the room. There's two in the bathroom; one covers the room at large, so he can see you brushing your teeth or drying yourself off or even using the toilet, and the other's angled to catch your every movement in the shower. (He's got an additional two waterproof ones in the shower that you don't know about yet - one sits in the center of the shower head (installed for the sole purpose of seeing and capturing everything should you decide to use the shower head for some stress relieving, personal activities), and one sits on the top of the plastic drain cover, so that he can get a nice view from below (when you drop your loofah or soap up your legs, the camera gets a nice, full view of your ass and cunt, a sight that Shalnark will always pause on and screenshot, the image being saved to the some dozens of photo folders he has dedicated to your nude body).

And he'll make you watch the footage with him, too - with a smile on his face and his fingers nearly trembling from his excitement and joy at seeing your horrified expression. He likes to narrate everything, too, prefacing with what you're about to do to show that he's already watched the footage multiple times - enough to be able to recite every action and move you make. He likes the way it makes you squirm, and he also just enjoys watching you, too.

Outside of that voyeuristic habit, Shalnark is certainly no saint when it comes to more risqué reasons why he might be placed lower on the desirability chart of Phantom Troupe yanderes. That is, he has this weird habit of limiting how often you can shower and bathe. At first, he uses this as a tactic to punish you or deter you from certain behaviors he deems undesirable. (Like avoiding his touch or ignoring him.) He figures that by letting you grow dirty and greasy and desperate to clean yourself, you'll be more likely to bend to his wishes, and frankly, it works - you feel disgusting with all the sweat caked into your skin, the sudden whiff of body order making you cringe when you move your arms (he won't provide you with deodorant, of course).

It'll drive you crazy, but no matter how complacent you are, or how receptive you are to his attempts at molding you into what he wants, Shalnark will become hesitant to give into your pleas to let you shower.

Because while he agrees that your skin feels better when it's freshly washed (softer, cleaner, more pure), there's something about the way you smell that gets him a little hot under the collar. It's your natural scent, something that's so you. It may be your body odor, sure, or just your pheromones (he likes to think that's what makes him want to rip off his pants and fuck you until you're crying nearly every time he sees you), but regardless, you'll find that he's much handsier and touchier when you haven't showered in a few days.

And frankly, that's saying a lot for Shalnark - he's already all over you, but now he's burying his face into your neck and inhaling, moaning at the way your skin smells. He's coming up behind you and pressing every inch of his body against yours, pinning your hips against the kitchen counter and letting his hands slip under your shirt to cup the undersides of your breasts, only to remove them and smell his hands because fuck your sweat smells good.

Well, if you know what's good for you, you won't touch your pretty little pussy without his explicit permission that you can wash it.

Susie from Deltarune scuba diving in a underwater deep end pool like environment alongside the Bull Shark Pup aka the shark protagonist from the Game Maneater while gently petting its snout in the process.

And Kris be snorkelling underwater using a waterproof camera to take video and photos of the Bull Shark Pup while interacting with the shark alongside Susie.

Mini Story Backstory: Kris and Susie were struggling to choose whatever Aquatic life to study on for a test in school that boredly exhausted them both a lot so they would head to the pool to try and clear their heads and try to come up with something.

until they came across a mysterious coloured striped patterned injured scarred bull shark pup caught in a shark net at the bottom of the pool. and they would both help it but oddly figure out this shark has a lot of silent intelligence and was quite friendly curious even was able to defend itself and importantly it was able to survive in pool waters conditions. That intrigued Kris and Susie a lot thus they secretly took care of it and checked on it to keep it safe from anyone knowing about it. and decided to swim underwater alongside the Bull Shark Pup to study off its unique personality and action but it’s appearance and pattern aswell!

The Author Falling in Love

It takes him by such large surprise. After all, he's not exactly one to play nice with his...protagonists.

A little bloodshed makes a good story, after all, right?

Like always, picked at random...and yet...he's never had a protagonist work with him before.

He catches himself growing...soft. Easing up on what he puts them through.

It's easy for him to just be where he needs to be, to lead someone where he wants them.

And seeing this protagonist for the first time, not just writing them...maybe he's feeling something new.

He's just not going to call it love.

That's a completely different genre.

The Host Falling in Love

The Host was never expecting that narration. Ever.

After all, he bleeds constantly from his eyes (or the sockets themselves, he doesn't truly need to see any more after all)

And his narrations usually take him a bit by surprise, just not to the point that he stumbles over the words.

But the narrations...they're truth in action, in the moment, in the now, and he realizes that yes, that person loves him.

It's surprising, almost overwhelming, and it makes him feel shy. Nervous.

He's a very confident man, usually. Almost cocky in his god-like ability to narrate the world around him, to bend it to his will.

For something to be outside of his control, to be something that bends him...

It's different, and as much as he's scared of losing this new feeling to his narrations, he finds himself reaching for it.

And maybe he's falling a little in love with the idea that he can be loved even like this.

Sometimes he spends a little too long trying to get the shape of a cliff face just right, but it's a damn good way to relax by the fire before starting a hike through treacherous terrain.

I was advised by an old friend who is now a professional photographer/videographer to shoot in black and white.

I have discovered that I only know how to do that one one camera, and it’s the Canon, which ran out of battery very quickly after taking today’s dice photo.

Also my action cam that I carry around with me is waterproof! So that one really weird shot is actually looking upwards at the sky from under the surface of the pool.

Took me ages to pick the player character (and even longer for the name). Guessing what I entered is their actual name, judging by the way they don't remember it during the "info dump on the amnesiac" prologue? Glad I took the serious route and went with "Alice" bc dumped into an unfamiliar world (and bc I was drinking tea with packaging inspired by the story earlier).

Strongest waterproof eyeliner in existence. Also, this game consistently looks gorgeous on my four-year-old gaming laptop, even though I'm playing on medium visual settings.

Oh? That feels like a setup for a monster that can pull off human imitation (down the line). It'd make for a creepy boss fight or something.

Also, there were so many proper nouns that my head started spinning. It's fine, this happens in RPGs. I largely showed up for the Platinum-esque combat, though, and that tutorial boss fight delivered. Easy-to-read cues for perfect counters, the neat little flourish of making character switching an actual attack, that summon mechanic I haven't played around with yet, etc. In general, it's flashy enough to grab me as a Devil May Cry-raised kid.

There're voiceovers in english, mandarin, korean, and japanese (and I'm going with english for now, to ensure I can keep track of things in high-action moments). The cast is decent, but I wish direction was to be a little faster. It's also okay for actors to emote.

Also, I've had several instances of text getting cut off in boxes and audio spontaneously skipping to the next line? There were also slight differences between the subtitles and the audio, but not to the extent of changing the entire line's meaning. Still, this is not something I'm a fan of. This comes from my experience of watching TV while learning english and often looking up new words.

I did approve of the visual settings, as they have settings for motion sickness mitigation.

Settings I prefer to disable/lower for my case:

Motion blur, camera shake. I'd also recommend fiddling with the "combat camera distance" setting because low field-of-view can set off episodes.

In short:

I like it, but there're minor quibbles. Also, impressed by how lag-free the opening night experience was.

It's definitely looking like a good scale-up for a developer who previously only had one smaller title.

It was Jack’s idea to sneak into the lake and take a swim in the middle of the night. But it was Rapunzel’s idea to race him there and jump in head first after stripping off her clothes. She surprised Jack by showing she had her swimsuit on, almost as if she had a hunch this would happen. Then Jack amused her when he said he wore his swimming trunks the whole day for this.

They splashed at each other and made bets on who could do the goofiest pose while jumping into the water. The other, of course, would hold a waterproof camera as they take the picture while jumping in as well. While they did their jobs well as counselors for Corona Summer Camp for Children, they too wanted to let loose and have some fun even if it means going against the rules they tell to the children themselves.

The longer they swam, the more they calmed down and eventually ended up floating on their backs as they held hands and watched the moon shine along with the stars. It was beautiful, what more with no clouds to be seen, until Jack turned his head to look at Rapunzel and smiled softly.

While it surprised her every time, she didn’t mind his bluntness. If anything, it consoled her in a way.

This time, Jack swam closer to her and held her hands. He then pulled her in as he slowly twirled them around in the water. It wasn’t until she made another bet to see who could hold their breath longer underwater that he stopped.

There, they made faces at each other underwater as a means to win. Though the more they did it, the more Rapunzel’s heart grew with such intense emotions. He was the only one, after all, who could make her feel such things.

Suddenly, she had a surged of confidence flow through her and she wanted to do something daring before it was too late. So when Rapunzel surprised Jack by wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him all so passionately, he was left speechless at the very action that confirmed his theory.

That maybe their intense gazes across the room with a smile that slowly grows on their face meant so much more. That maybe the way she brushed her hands to his were intentionally and she wanted to hold hands with him. That maybe, just maybe, Rapunzel reciprocated his romantic feelings for her. Except, now, it wasn’t a maybe anymore. Not when she kissed him this way.

But then Jack pulled her in for another kiss, and that was all it took for them to melt into each other with the moon and stars as their only witnesses... And maybe a gaping Hiccup, a cheering Merida, and a supportive Anna as well who were hiding in the bushes after hearing laughter in the lake just a few moments ago.
