Messing around with some watercolor brush pens I got for Christmas. I filled them up with French aquamarine, veridian, raw sienna, and a mix of burnt sienna/French ultramarine. Then I did an easy seascape just to see what would happen. I had to put more paint in because I started way too heavy on the water. And I added a bit of white guoache for the waves because why not. The finished product is pretty light so I probably need to add more paint.

Inktober 2024 - day 10: nomadic

I didn't post yesterday's prompt cause I didn't have time but also I was starting to feel a little uninspired and burnt out but I still want to sketch stuff and try new things so I'll use the rest of the days to do that if the prompts are cool

I'm trying out using a brush pen instead of fine liners and I really like it so here's some whales 🐳

A character collage of Raimundo Pedrosa in traditional ink and watercolor! I had made this a while ago.

I had drawn Rai’s robes in the traditional “Y” cross to match that of authentic Chinese robes. I’ve heard though that temples may cross the robes in the opposite direction for foreigners, but I’m not sure if that fully true (let me know if you know!).

For Rai’s casual clothes, I’d decided to modernize them while making them more breezy and sporty. Not only does this match his element, but being from Brazil with its warm and humid climate, I thought short sleeves and looser fit clothing would match that as well. ☺️🍃🌪️
