The Function Of Hydration In The Immune System
Immunity depends on hydration, which is necessary for bodily functions. The immune system protects the body from dangerous pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, and parasites. By creating antibodies against these invaders or triggering immune cells like T and B, it recognizes them and fights them.Â
Dehydration can cause a reduction in the production of lymph. The immune system's ability to function depends on this fluid. Immune cells may have trouble moving to other body areas when dehydrated, making it more challenging to recognize and react to infections. Drinking enough water also helps the body rid itself of pollutants.
The Function Of Hydration In The Immune System
The body's ability to fight infection depends on enough hydration. The immune system shields the body from dangerous pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Therefore, these immunological cells and molecules require enough water.
According to Toneop, hydration has the following effects on immune function:
1. Keeping The Atmosphere Damp
Immune system hydration contributes to preserving the body's moisture content, which is essential for mucous membrane health. The initial line of defense in the respiratory, digestive, and urinary tracts against invasive infections is mucous membranes. These membranes also include antibodies and immunological cells, which prevent diseases from entering the body. Because dehydration can cause mucous membranes to dry down and make it easier for viruses to enter the body and cause infections, hydration plays a critical role in immune function.
2. Nutrient Transport
Nutrients must be transported throughout the body via water. Numerous nutrients, including vitamins and minerals, are necessary for the immune system to operate as it should. For the advantages, one should include vitamins in their diet, such as meals high in vitamin C. Hydration is essential for immune function because dehydration can hinder the movement of these nutrients, which can compromise immunological function.
3. Role Of The Lymphatic System
The immune system depends on the lymphatic system. It delivers immune cells to their designated locations and eliminates waste and poisons from the body. The lymphatic system has to be well-hydrated to function. Resistant system performance can be hampered by the lymphatic system becoming lethargic in the human body.
4. Circulation
Reduced blood flow from dehydration can weaken the immune system. On the other hand, enough hydration supports healthy blood flow, which is necessary to supply immune cells with nutrients and oxygen.
5. Trash Removal
While warding off infections, water aids in the removal of waste products from the body, including those created by immune cells.
Sufficient hydration is crucial for immune system function and overall bodily health.Hence, adults who exercise frequently or live in a hot climate should consume eight glasses of water or more each day. It's also important to remember that other liquids, including broth and herbal tea, can help you stay hydrated.
How Can My Everyday Lifestyle Be More Hydrated?
There are numerous easy methods to enhance immune function and hydration in day-to-day living:
1. Up Your Water Intake
Drinking more water is the most straightforward approach to enhance immune function through hydration. If you live in a hot climate or engage in strenuous activity, try to drink eight glasses of water a day or more. Always carry a bottle of water and drink from it throughout the day.
2. Consume Hydrating Meals
High-water content fruits and vegetables can enhance immune system hydration. Watermelon, cucumbers, celery, strawberries, and spinach are a few examples.
3. Steer Clear Of sugary beverages
Sports drinks and sodas are examples of sugary beverages that can cause dehydration. Select water or other low-sugar drinks, including coconut water or herbal tea.
4. Check The Color Of UrineÂ
Examining the color of your pee is one easy way to determine your level of hydration. It is probably well-hydrated if it is clear or pale yellow. You should drink more water if it is an amber or dark yellow color.
5. Use An App For Hydration
You can track how much water you drink and receive reminders to drink more throughout the day with several apps, like Toneop.
The Final Say
To sum up, the immune system needs to be properly hydrated. Transporting nutrition, eliminating waste, preserving the lymphatic system, and keeping mucosal membranes moist all depend on adequate hydration. Maintaining sufficient hydration also promotes blood flow, which is essential for providing immune cells nutrition and oxygen. Dietitians recommend consuming hydrating foods, having eight glasses of water or more a day, and monitoring the color of your urine to ensure that you are well hydrated.

How Does the Cellulose Capsule Shell Perform in Terms of Disintegration and Dissolution?
Capsules are a popular choice for pharmaceutical formulations due to their convenience, ease of swallowing, and ability to mask unpleasant tastes. One of the most common materials used for the shell of these capsules is cellulose, a naturally occurring polysaccharide. The performance of the cellulose capsule shell in terms of disintegration and dissolution is critical for the efficacy and safety of the medication it contains. In this blog post, Wecaps will share the intricacies of cellulose vegetable capsule shell behavior, examining factors that influence these properties and the implications for drug delivery.
Introduction to Cellulose Vegetable Capsule Shell for sale
Cellulose is a versatile biopolymer derived from plant cell walls, renowned for its biocompatibility and biodegradability. It is the primary component in the construction of capsule shells, which are typically made from hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC) or its derivatives. These capsules provide a protective barrier for the active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) until they reach the appropriate site of action in the body.
The Importance of Disintegration and Dissolution of Cellulose Vegetable Capsule Shell
Disintegration refers to the process by which a capsule shell breaks apart into smaller fragments, allowing the contents to be released. Dissolution, on the other hand, is the process by which the active ingredients within the capsule dissolve in the gastrointestinal (GI) fluids. Both processes have an impact on the absorption of drugs into the blood and subsequent distribution throughout the body.
Factors Affecting Disintegration and Dissolution of Cellulose Vegetable Capsule Shell
1. Capsule Shell Composition
The chemical composition of the capsule shell, including the degree of substitution (DS) of hydroxypropyl groups in HPC, can significantly impact disintegration and dissolution rates. A higher DS typically results in slower disintegration and dissolution due to increased hydrophobicity.
2. Manufacturing Process
The method of capsule production can also affect performance. For instance, the use of different plasticizers or the application of specific coatings can alter the disintegration and dissolution profiles.
3. Environmental Conditions
Temperature, pH, and the presence of enzymes in the GI tract can all impact the rate at which a cellulose capsule shell disintegrates and dissolves. The capsule shell's performance may vary under different physiological conditions.
4. Fill Material
The nature of the fill material can also influence the disintegration and dissolution of the capsule. For example, a highly viscous or hygroscopic fill can slow down disintegration.
5. Patient-Related Factors
Individual differences in GI motility, stomach acidity, and the presence of food in the stomach can affect the disintegration and dissolution of cellulose capsules.
Mechanisms of Disintegration and Dissolution
Disintegration Mechanisms
1. Swelling: Capsule shells absorb water, causing them to swell and eventually rupture.
2. Erosion: The capsule shell gradually wears away as it comes into contact with GI fluids.
3. Fragmentation: Mechanical forces within the GI tract can cause the capsule to break into smaller pieces.
Dissolution Mechanisms
1. Solubilization: The API dissolves in the surrounding GI fluid once the capsule shell has disintegrated.
2. Diffusion: Dissolved drug molecules diffuse through the GI fluid towards the absorptive surface of the gut.
Optimizing Performance
1. Selection of Appropriate Cellulose Derivatives: Choosing the right type of cellulose derivative with the optimal DS can help tailor the disintegration and dissolution profile to the specific needs of the drug.
2. Shell Formulation: Adjusting the plasticizer content or incorporating additives can modify the mechanical properties of the capsule shell, influencing its disintegration and dissolution behavior.
3. Coating Technologies: Applying enteric or controlled-release coatings can protect the capsule shell from premature disintegration or dissolution in the stomach, ensuring targeted drug release in the intestine.
4. Design of the Fill Material: The selection and preparation of the fill material can be optimized to ensure compatibility with the capsule shell and to facilitate efficient disintegration and dissolution.
5. In Vitro Testing: In vitro testing methods, such as the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) disintegration test and dissolution test, are essential for evaluating and comparing the performance of different capsule formulations.
The disintegration and dissolution of cellulose capsule shells are complex processes that are influenced by a multitude of factors. By optimizing the capsule shell composition, manufacturing process, and fill material design, pharmaceutical scientists can enhance the performance of cellulose capsules, ensuring reliable and consistent drug release for improved patient outcomes.

Foods High in CoQ10 for Vegetarians and Vegans
There is no definitive answer to this question since there is no one-size-fits-all answer when it comes to veganism and CoQ10 levels. Some vegans may be low in CoQ10due to their diet or lifestyle, while others may have adequate levels. The best way to determine if you are low in CoQ10 is to speak with a healthcare professional and have your levels tested.
CoQ10 is a naturally occurring antioxidant that supports heart health and helps maintain healthy blood pressure. CoQ10 is an important nutrient that’s found in foods like whole grains, nuts, and leafy greens. It’s also produced naturally by the body, Vegans can get enough CoQ10 by eating a variety of plant-based foods. Vegan foods rich in CoQ10 include chia seeds, almonds, Lima beans, spinach and Brussels sprouts. They also can take supplement or eat foods that contain added CoQ10. One way to get more CoQ10 in your diet is to take a supplement. There are several other vegan options besides chia seeds and almond milk that can deliver an ample amount of CoQ10 as well. Some examples include wheatgrass juice, spirulina and aloe vera gel. These options can all be taken as supplements or blended into smoothies or juices for extra nutrition and a boost of energy.
One option is brewer’s yeast, which is a rich source of both folate and CoQ10. Brewer’s yeast also provides B vitamins and other nutrients that are important for health. Be sure to check the label to make sure brewer’s yeast isn’t processed with any fillers or added sugars. Another option is spirulina, which is a type of blue-green algae that grows in fresh water ponds and lakes. Spirulina is high in protein and antioxidants, which can help support a healthy immune system. Like brewer’s yeast, spirulina is also an excellent source of B vitamins and other nutrients. While brewer’s yeast can be purchased at most grocery stores, spirulina can only be found online or at specialty health stores.
CoQ10 In the early twenties, the amount of CoQ10 production decreases, also the lack of some vitamins such as B6, mitochondrial diseases, stress and unbalanced diet will decrease CoQ10. If you recently chose a plant-based diet, you may encounter a decrease in CoQ10 in your body.
CoQ10 is an antioxidant that helps your body produce enough energy to keep you going. It’s found in the mitochondria of your cells, which are responsible for producing energy.
Luckily, there are plenty of foods rich in coenzyme Q10 that will give you a boost without having to eat meat:
Nuts
Walnuts are rich in CoQ10, but so are almonds, cashews and macadamia nuts. They’re also high in omega-3 fatty acids, which have been linked to lower cholesterol levels and reduced risk of heart disease.
1. Sunflower Seeds: 10 mg per 1/2 cup serving (8 seeds)
2. Cashews: 5 mg per 1/2 cup serving (20 nuts)
3. Peanut Butter: 4 mg per 1/4 cup serving (60 grams)
4. Pistachios: 3.5 mg per 1/2 cup serving (60 grams)
Whole Grains
Whole grains like barley and brown rice contain significant amounts of coenzyme Q10. So does wheat germ, which can be added to cereals or used in baking recipes.
Leafy Greens
Dark leafy greens like spinach and kale contain small amounts of CoQ10, as well as other nutrients like iron and calcium that help your body function properly.
The body makes coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) in the mitochondria of all cells. The process begins with the amino acids tyrosine and phenylalanine, which are converted into 4-hydroxybenzoate and 4-aminobenzoate. These two molecules are then combined to form CoQ10. The body produces coq10 in the liver. This substance is important for the production of energy in the body, and it also functions as an antioxidant.

10 Reasons Why Alkaline Water Is Better Than Plain Water
What Is Alkaline Water?
Alkaline water simply has higher potential hydrogen than regular drinking water. Alkaline substances are like salt, metal, and minerals that when mixed in water make it more basic.
The PH level of alkaline water is a little more than neutral. If you look at the PH scale, it may fall under the reading of 8 to 9. This is due to the higher amount of total dissolved minerals like calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium.
On the PH scale if we look at anything above the reading of 7 it will be considered alkaline. For example, the blood in your system has a value of 7.4 but soaps and bleach range from 12 to 13 in value.
Benefits Of Alkaline Water
Some common benefits of alkaline water are:
May aid the treatment of diabetics: Alkaline water is said to reduce blood glucose levels and cholesterol. It is also said to improve the thickness of blood to ease the flow through the body. It is rich in antioxidants which help prevent many diseases. Antioxidants prevent the oxidation of fat. These fats are harmful to blood vessels. Published studies have proved that alkaline water can fight the action of oxidative elements that attack body tissues. This also helps the body age slower.
Mineral rich: Alkaline water has a higher calcium, magnesium, and potassium concentration. These are essential minerals for your body. Some are responsible for bone health, teeth, or even hair. Alkaline water also helps support our immune system by supplementing you with the necessary minerals.
Oxygen rich: Oxygen plays an important role in our body and the cells inside it. The blood in the body carries the oxygen supply to the necessary cells. This ensures more energy for the body as oxygen can be considered one of the fuels of the body. This helps keep your metabolism on track and makes sure your nervous system is functioning well.
Aids detoxification of the body: Alkaline water can also be considered a detox drink. Alkaline water helps reduce the build-up of mucus in the small and big intestine walls. This in turn helps the body absorb the necessary nutrients well while digestion takes place. The ionized solution rids the body of toxins and waste.
Energizing: With so-called magical properties alkaline water is a source of abundant energy. The ions present in it increase energy levels and mental capability or clarity. It is also known to combat the effects of lactic acid build-up thus helping the body’s recovery after intense efforts.
Helps maintain weight: Alkaline water increases your metabolism and reduces fatty tissues. Fatty tissues usually form around our organs, which is not good for you. The reduction of this harmful tissue helps the organs absorb nutrients during digestion.
Reduced effects of pesticides: Most of the fresh fruit and vegetables that we consume are laced with pesticides. You might take precautions to wash and sterilize before consumption, but residues remain. Alkaline water helps neutralize these pesticides in the body thus reducing the harmful effects. In pregnant women, pesticides affect the development of the fetus and alkaline water can help combat this. If you aren’t comfortable consuming alkaline water, you may also wash your fruits and vegetables in it before cooking.
Prevents hyperacidity: Due to the ph level, alkaline water is said to correct the acidity levels in the body in turn helping you reduce that painful burn. Acidity can be caused by many things like stress and irregular eating habits but, there is a counter out there for you!
Hydrating: Water is made up of clusters of arranged molecules. To make it simpler, tap water has about 12 to 15 molecule clusters. Alkaline water breaks electrical links between the molecules thus rearranging them into clusters of 4 to 6 molecules. The reduced size of water clusters in alkaline water ensures that the water effectively penetrates the body’s organs when ingested.
Cleansing: Alkaline water helps eliminate waste and toxins stored in the body. Over time this can be harmful to the body and lead to health issues. Alkaline water is a natural cleanser and helps purify the body.

I think this is largely semantics, not in the common sense of dismissing distinctions as nitpicking or negligible but in the linguistic sense of what the meaning of "water" is.
From a chemical perspective, water is a molecule composed of two hydrogen atoms bonded to one oxygen atom. Water here refers to this particular arrangement of these particular things, but implies nothing about the state they exist in other than those qualifiers. Solid water (ice), liquid water (water water) and vaporized water (steam) are all made of the same chemical (H20).
But notice how I used "water water" to refer to liquid water? From a more physical/intuitive perspective, liquid water is what is often meant when one says water, rather than ice or steam, which is why (in English and many other languages) there are different words for the other two common forms. So physically, water is often understood to be the fluid form of the molecule of the same name.
But taking another step back, what is colloquially referred to as water, as @headspace-hotel pointed out, is generally not 100% pure distilled water composed only of water molecules (and good luck *ever* getting that, because water loves having not-water in it so much it even sucks in gases from the atmosphere). Water from the tap, or a river, or the rain, or wherever you get it is practically guaranteed to have non-water molecules in it, contributing to the "taste of water" along with factors like the temperature of the water. But we still call it water. We (humans) are generally about half water by mass [1] but we rarely call ourselves water, despite practically being "water with some stuff in it". Sea water is about 3.5% "other stuff" (mostly salt, some sediment, etc.) [2] but we still generally refer to it as water. So generally speaking, the line that divides "Water" from "not water" would probably be between ~4% and ~50%. But the line that divides the two is, I would argue, not actually there! Because what actually matters here is the context, not a strict definition of what is or isn't water.
For example, in the context of the surface planet, the most common form of water is seawater, because that's where most (~97%[3]) of the water at the surface of the Earth is, and so water refers secondarily to the freshwater lakes, rivers, glaciers, etc, that compose the remaining 3%. We aren't entirely sure how much water there is in the whole planet (though were working on it) but the general consensus is that there could be one or more ocean's worth of water in the Earth's interior [4] (likely in the mantle), so the most common form of water on Earth may be as the hydrous form of minerals, completely different in form from the loose water we're familiar with at the surface! And don't even get me started on how astronomers and planetary scientists define water.
The context that I think this post was initially discussing was something like "water as the thing we as humans need to consume to live". In that sense, water could mean the culinary-type "water with so little not-water in it that it doesn't taste much like anything". It could also mean the very general "thing that you drink that makes you less thirsty", in which case there are a small handful of commonly consumed beverages that will actually dehydrate you, things like alcohol and other diuretics, which don't meet our definition. Milk, sodas, eggs, even blood all fit our definition, to varying levels of efficacy.
And all of these contexts apply simultaneously, in practice. If I hold a glass of tap water in my hand, it is (mostly) water by the chemical sense, low-salinity seawater in the global surface sense, weird not-rocky water in the planetary sense, etc. A glass of kool-aid is, in some senses water and in other senses not-water. In the contexts that generally most closely apply to kool-aid (beverages, thing that hydrates), it's "mostly water and useful nutrients that will relatively efficiently hydrate you upon consumption, and also some food-safe dye to make it fun". If someone says "it's just water", they're wrong in the most applicable contexts, but someone saying that "it's still water" is, arguably, not incorrect in that it still serves the same function, if not better for some folks.
The important thing here is why the distinction matters. Denying someone their agency and potentially their safety by not informing them of the "not-water" parts of the "water" you're giving them is harmful and should not be tolerated. Informing people that adding flavoring to water doesn't make it less hydrating is beneficial. Shaming people for needing or wanting to add flavoring to their water for them to drink enough to stay hydrated is harmful [5]. The words we use are tools and we get a lot more done when we use them to make things together than we do by wielding them against each other.
Tl;dr - it depends on the context! Culinarily, Kool-aid is arguably a subset of water, so it's correct to call it either or both in the context of hydration. I wouldn't put kool-aid in the municipal water system, but I would put it in my body if I were thirsty.
Finally, to paraphrase what @headspace-hotel said, "There are no water rules, only the pursuit of cooperative communication and mutual understanding in a world that demands dichotomies where none exist."

[2]: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seawater
[3]: https://oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/oceanwater.html
[4]: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_distribution_on_Earth
[5]: Just want to be clear: I am not saying that anyone on this post is or has been doing this. This is for contextually relevant illustrative purposes.
i don't really care about watertok because i don't really care what other people put into their bodies but i am confused because people keep saying 'that's not water anymore' and the creators are disagreeing??
like, when you dissolve kool-aid powder into water, it's kool-aid. it's not water. it's not water with kool-aid powder in it. it's kool-aid. because it dissolves into the water it creates a new substance that is Not Water.
there's absolutely no judgement behind my stance here like i'm glad these people are getting their liquids in i just don't understand why people keep trying to pretend that their modified drinks are still water? isn't that like the Water Rules
#Not to mention the ableism that gets wrapped up in the judgement folks who can't drink regular tap water face#or the inaccessibility of clean safe drinking water for lots of folks especially due to racism; colonialism; capitalism#and increasingly from the destruction and loss of fresh water sources due to climate change#Water- in the sense of safe to consume liquid which hydrates you- is a human right

Various Facts And Health Benefits Of Kei Apple
Kei apple has become a household name in Japan since the late 1970s. It’s also known as kiwi apple or Japanese Kiwifruit (Kiwiana). This fruit was initially called Japanese Kiwi due to its similarity to the kiwis found in New Zealand. These days, however, it is commonly used interchangeably.
Today, Kei apples are grown in several countries around the globe, from Spain (where they are also called Pimpinela) to Chile. The United States produces about 75% of the total global production.
“Kei Apples” is used in cooking in various ways. For example, they can be eaten fresh or added to juices and smoothies. They can also be fermented into alcohol. Another way to enjoy them is to add their flavor to ice cream. Some food producers even freeze them and serve them as dessert bars.
Regarding nutrition, Kei apples have less sugar than regular apples but more vitamin C than regular oranges. They are also exceptionally rich in fiber. That means that these fruits will not cause you to gain weight quickly. Kei apples contain higher levels of antioxidants than any other fruit on earth. They may help prevent cancerous cells from growing and even protect your skin against sunburn.
There are two types of Kei apples: Red-skinned and Green-skinned. Both styles come in different shapes and sizes, depending on where they were grown. Generally speaking, green-skinned varieties tend to be smaller, while red-skinned ones tend to be larger.
Health Benefits Of Kei Apple (Dovyalis caffra)
Are you looking out for ways to plant Kei Apple? Then Hire a gardener for a day because Plant Judo will help you with seeds and planting methods.
1. Antioxidant-Rich: A recent study revealed that critical apples contain antioxidants such as polyphenol compounds that fight our body’s free radicals. Free radicals are highly reactive oxygen molecules that destroy healthy tissue. This makes critical apples perfect for preventing diseases like cancer and heart disease.
2. Anti-Inflammatory: Due to their high anti-inflammatory properties, kei apples are suitable for people suffering from inflammation-related disorders. It helps reduce swelling and pain caused by arthritis, sore muscles, wounds, and injuries.
3. Anti-Cancer: The presence of lycopene and beta-carotene helps fight off harmful substances that cause cancer. Lycopene is an organic compound in many plants, including tomatoes, watermelons, guavas, and papayas. Beta carotene is a fat-soluble plant pigment found mainly in carrots. Both chemicals help slow cell division so that cells cannot mutate into abnormal forms.
4. Good source of Vitamin C: Like all citrus fruits, Kei apples are loaded with vitamin C. However, apples provide most of their vitamin C content during ripening, unlike other fruit. During storage, vitamin C begins to degrade and become oxidized. So, it’s important to consume fresh apples whenever possible.
5. Nutrient Rich: Like all other fruits, the nutrients found in Kei apples are vital for human health. Among the vitamins, minerals, and essential amino acids, there are several notable ones.
For example, potassium aids normal muscle contraction and relaxation. Magnesium is known to prevent bone loss following menopause. And iron helps us produce blood. I do not forget that fiber plays an integral role in digestion and absorption.
6. Blood Pressure Lowering: Another benefit of consuming Kei apples is their ability to lower blood pressure. High blood pressure has been linked to chronic ailments like coronary artery disease, stroke, and kidney failure.
7. Diuretic: Consuming apples can also aid in reducing fluid retention in your body. Because they contain citric acid, these products stimulate your kidneys to excrete excess fluids out of your body. To reap maximum benefits, make sure you drink plenty of water on top of eating Kei apples regularly.
8. Digestive Aid: Apples contain pectin, a natural substance that acts as a digestive aid. Pectin promotes peristalsis, the movement of food through the intestines. When combined with fiber, it helps pass stool quickly and easily.
9. Treats constipation: You may cause constipation due to a low magnesium intake level. One way to remedy this is to eat Kei apples since they have more than double the amount of magnesium compared to regular apples.

What are the basic applications in coordination compounds?
Let's start by defining a coordination compound or complex. A coordination complex is made up of a core atom or ion called the coordination center, which is generally metallic, and a surrounding array of bonded molecules or ions called ligands or complexing agents. Coordination complexes are found in many metal-containing compounds, particularly those containing transition metals (d block elements). Because coordination complexes are so common, their reactions and structures are explained in a variety of ways, which can be confusing. The donor atom is the atom in a ligand which is bound to the central metal atom or ion. A metal ion is linked to many donor atoms in a typical complex, which might be the same or different. A polydentate (many bonded) ligand is a molecule or ion having numerous bonds to the core atom; ligands with 2, 3, 4, or even 6 connections to the central atom are frequent. These complexes are identified as chelate complexes, and the method of forming them is known as complexation, chelation, and coordination.
Coordination means the "coordinate covalent bonds" between the ligands and the central atom. This is the dipolar link. Initially, a complex meant that such weak chemical connections involved a reversible combination of molecules, atoms or ions. This notion has evolved in terms of coordination chemistry. Certain metal complexes are almost permanently generated and many are linked by strong bonds. Coordination number is the number of donor atoms connected to the center atom or ion. There are 2, 4 and notably 6 as the most prevalent coordinating number.
In coordination chemistry, the number of ligands attaching to the metal is characterized initially by its coordinating number (more specifically, the number of donor atoms). You can usually count the connected ligands, but occasionally even the count may be confusing. There are typically two to nine coordination numbers, although for lanthanides and actinides a great number of ligands is not unusual. The number of bonds depends on the metal ion and the ligands' size, charging and electron configuration. More than one coordinating number can be used for metal ions. The chemistry of metal transition complexes is generally controlled by the interactions between s and p of the donor-atom molecular orbits of the ligand and the ion orbit. 18 electrons can be used in the metal orbitals s, p and d. The maximal coordinate number for a given metal thus is associated with the metal ion's electronic state and with the ligand size and metal ion ratio. The high coordination numbers result in large metals and small ligands. Low coordination results from small metals with large ligands. Lanthanides, actinides and early transition metals tend to have high amounts of coordination due to their enormous size.
Application of coordination compounds
·       Coordinating complexes provide either structural or catalytic functions in bioinorganic chemistry and bio-organometallic chemistry. The proteins include ions of metal estimated at 30 per cent. For example, heme group haemoglobin, cytochromes, chlorophyll chlorine and carboxypeptidase are highly colored, an essential hydrolytic enzyme for digesting. Examples included: Catalase, which decomposes hydrogen peroxide from the cells, is another complex ion enzyme. Synthetic coordination chemicals are also utilized to bind protein and nucleic acids in particular.
·       For determining water hardness EDTA is another complicated substance that we employ. The application of coordination compounds as catalysts also involves their use. Today, the polymer sector is also growing increasingly popular.
·       The main application of coordination compounds to the synthesis of organic molecules is homogeneous catalysis. Hydrogenation, hydroformylation, oxidation are all processes. For instance, Ziegler-Natta-catalysts are used to polymerize ethylene and propylene to provide polymers of commercial value such fibers, film and plastics, with a mixture of titanium trichlorides and trihyl Aluminum.
·       Using hydrometallurgical procedures with complex ions, nickel, cobalt and copper may be extracted. They are mined as ammine complexes from their ores. The selective precipitation and the solubility of complex ions may also be used to separate metals. Cyanide is mainly utilized for gold and silver extraction from their ores.
·       In biological systems, coordination molecules are important. Chlorophyll is a coordinated compound of magnesium and is the primary pigment for photosynthesis. A coordination compound of iron is haemoglobin, a red blood pigment that works as oxygen carrier. Cobalt coordination compound is vitamin B12, cyanocobalamine, an anti-pernicious anaemia factor. The enzymes such as carboxypeptidase A and carbonic anhydrase (catalysts of biological systems) are among those of biological relevance with coordinated metal ions.
·       Complex formation is used in certain major metal extraction procedures, such as silver and gold extraction. Gold, for instance, forms the coordinator [Au(CN)2]- in aceous solution in the presence of oxygen and water. Gold, by adding zinc, may be separated into metallic zinc fro.
·       With increasing synthesis of coordination compounds, scientists and engineers now have a range of possibilities to improve and optimize operations.

Biochemistry
Update: Pictures are working!
Atoms
There are a few basic chemistry concepts that are essential to understand. For starters, understanding what an atom is and its basic properties.
Atoms are the building block of all matter. They have a positive nucleus, with positive protons, and neutral neutrons. In a large area surrounding the nucleus, is the electron cloud, made of negatively charged electrons.
An atom in its elemental state is always neutral.
When an element has a charge, it is because it has an unequal number of protons an electrons, making it an ion. Sometimes an element’s nucleus has an unequal number of neutrons and protons, making it an isotope. Carbon-14, for example, has 8 neutrons, instead of the 6 that Carbon-12 has. Carbon-14 is also a radioisotope, meaning it emits particles and decays at a rate called a half-life, making it useful for fossil dating. Along with that, radioactive carbon can be used as a tracer. This means it is incorporated in CO2 molecules and used to track metabolic pathways.
The location of the electron affects how the atom will react with other elements. When electrons are in the lowest available energy level, they are in the ground state. When they absorb energy, they move to a higher energy level, entering the excited state. For instance, when chlorophyll absorbs light energy, electrons within it are boosted to higher energy levels. This provides the energy necessary to produce sugar when they return to their ground state level as they release the energy they absorbed.
Bonding
Elements bond when two nuclei are attracted to each other. Energy is released when a bond is formed. All atoms want to either get rid of all their electrons on their outer shell or fill their outer shell with 8 (or in hydrogen’s case, 2) electrons, which makes them stable. There are 3 kinds of bonds, but for biochemistry, Ionic and covalent bonds are what is relevant.
Ionic bonds form ions (hence the name.) They occur when electrons are transferred. The atom that gains electrons becomes a negatively charged anion. The atom that loses electrons becomes a positively charged cation.
Covalent bonds are made when electrons are shared. This occurs when the two atoms have electronegativities that are closer together than in an ionic bond. Electronegativity is the tendency of an atom to pull electrons towards it. These bonds can be polar if the electronegativity is high enough. A polar molecule is a molecule with a partial charge. For example, water is a polar molecule, as oxygen is extremely electronegative, and water is partially electronegative.
Hydrogen Bonding
Hydrogen bonding is a specific kind of intermolecular force that is essential to life. It is what keeps the 2 strands of DNA bonded together, and gives water its unique characteristics. Since oxygen has a partial negative charge, and hydrogen has a partial positive charge, they are naturally drawn to each other.
Hydrophobic vs Hydrophilic
Polar molecules are hydrophilic. This is because they are attracted to the partially charged ends of water. Hydrophilic means they are attracted to water. (Not in that way... sick) NaCl or table salt is hydrophilic. This is why salt dissolves in water.
Non-polar molecules are hydrophobic. This means they are repelled by water. (They’re filthy water haters.) Lipids are hydrophobic, which is why fats and oils do not dissolve in water.
The cell membrane is a phospholipid bilayer, only allowing nonpolar substances to dissolve through it. Large polar molecules have to use specific hydrophilic channels.
Characteristics of Water
Water is a unique molecule, and without its unique properties, life on earth would not exist as it does, or even at all.
Water has a high specific heat: Because hydrogen bonds are so strong, it requires a lot of heat energy to break them. This is why large bodies of water remain the same temperature, and why coastal cities have a consistent temperature because the water absorbs all the heat energy before it can warm up.
Water has a high heat of vaporisation: A large amount of energy is needed for water to vaporise, which is why sweating is such an effective cooling method.
Water has high adhesion properties: Adhesion is when one substance clings to another. Adhesion causes capillary action, which occurs in the xylem of plants, and is used to bring water up from the roots without expending energy.
Water is a universal solvent: Due to its high polarity, water makes an excellent solvent.
Water is extremely cohesive: Molecules of water tend to stick to each other. This is observed in surface tension and allows for small insects to run across the surface of the water. Cohesion is also necessary to bring water up from the roots, by transpirational-pull cohesion tension.
Ice is less dense than water: Instead of freezing all the way through, ice crystallises, leaving large amounts of space, causing ice to float. This is essential for the survival of marine life during the winter, as they can live beneath the ice.
pH
pH is calculated by taking the -log of the chance of finding hydronium (H30+) ions within a certain amount of water. Hydronium is made in rare circumstances, where a hydrogen ion breaks off from a water molecule. Normally, there is a 1 in 10 million chance of there being a hydronium ion. This is the equivalent of 1x10^-7. The -log of this number is 7, the neutral pH.
Any pH below 7 is acidic. Any pH above 7 is basic. Stomach acid has a pH of 2, while bleach has a pH of 11. Human blood has a pH of around 7.4
Most living cells need to have an internal environment with a pH of around 7. Buffers exist to regulate pH by either absorbing excess hydrogen ions or donating missing hydrogen ions. In human blood, the bicarbonate ion (HCO3) is essential.
Macromolecules
There are 4 types of macromolecules: carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids.
Carbohydrates
Carbohydrates are made of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. They supply quick and easy energy. 1 gram of all carbohydrates will release 4 calories of energy. In our diet, they can be found almost everywhere in foods such as rice, pasta, bread, cookies, etc.
There are 3 kinds of carbohydrates: monosaccharides, disaccharides, and polysaccharides.
Monosaccharides
All monosaccharides have a chemical formula of C6H12O6. It is the placement of the carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen that determines its properties. Glucose, fructose, and galactose are all examples. They are isomers, meaning they have the same chemical formula, but a different structure.
Disaccharides
When 2 monosaccharides join together, they create disaccharides. They all have the chemical formula C12H22O11. Dehydration synthesis is the process that creates them. This process releases 1 molecule of water, hence the name. Lactose, maltose, and sucrose are all examples.
Hydrolysis is the exact opposite of dehydration synthesis. It is used during digestion. One molecule of water is used to breakdown polymers into monomers.
Polysaccharides Polysaccharides are long polymers of carbohydrates. Cellulose (plant cell wall), chitin (exoskeleton, fungi cell wall), glycogen (how animals store carbohydrates) and starch (how plants store carbohydrates) are all examples.
Lipids
Lipids include fats, oils, and waxes. Most contain 1 glycerol and 3 fatty acids. Glycerol is alcohol.
Fatty acids are the building blocks of lipids and are hydrocarbon chains with carboxyl groups at the end. There are 2 varieties; saturated and unsaturated. (3 if you count trans-fats when extra hydrogen is added to the fat to make the lipid solid)
Saturated fats are solid at room temperature, and are famously unhealthy as they are linked to heart disease.
Unsaturated fats are liquid at room temperature and are good dietary fats.
Lipids store much more energy than carbohydrates. 1 gram of any lipid will release 9 calories of heat per gram. They can be structural, as in the phospholipids of the cell membrane, or they can be hormones.
Proteins
Proteins are polymers of amino acids linked together by peptide bonds.
Amino acids are identifiable by their carboxyl group, amine group, and variable R, attached to a central carbon atom.
Proteins are complex and perform a vast array of duties, such as growth and repair, being enzymes, membrane channels, and hormones.
1 gram of protein releases 4 calories of heat.
Proteins contain the elements C H O N P S
There are only 20 amino acids coding for the thousands of proteins in the human body.
Protein Structure
There are 4 levels to the structure of a protein.
The primary structure results from the sequence of amino acids making up the polypeptide
The secondary structure results from hydrogen bonding within the molecule. This causes a helical structure
The tertiary structure is an intricate 3-dimensional shape or conformation of a protein and most directly decides the function of the protein. Enzymes denature in high temperatures or in the wrong pH because the tertiary structure is compromised.
The quaternary structure is only found in proteins that have more than 1 polypeptide chain, such as in haemoglobin.
Enzymes
Enzymes are large proteins
Enzymes lower the energy of activation, speeding up the reaction, as it lowers the amount of energy needed to start the reaction.
The chemical an enzyme works on is known as a substrate
Enzymes are specifically designed for specific substrates. For example, lactase only works on lactose. Notice the naming pattern for enzymes and their substrates.
The induced fit model is an explanation for how they work. When the substrate enters the active site, it induces the enzyme to change its shape to fit the substrate.
Enzymes can be reused as they do not degrade during a reaction
Enzymes are assisted by cofactors (minerals) or coenzymes (vitamins)
Prions
Prions are proteins that cause diseases. Mad cow disease is an example. It is a misformed protein able to influence other proteins to fold in the same way.
Nucleic Acids
There are 2 kinds of nucleic acids: RNA and DNA. They are necessary for carrying genetic information.
Nucleic acids are polymers of nucleotides
The nucleotides are the two purines: Adenine and Guanine, and the 3 pyrimidines, Thymine, Uracil, and Cytosine. Uracil is only found in RNA, and thymine is only found in DNA. Adenine connects with thymine/uracil, and guanine connects with cytosine.

Choose the right paint for each room
Would you like to give all your rooms the same look? Maybe Yes! But, while painting each room, you can get creative and create unique looks for each room, kitchen, dining space, bedroom, etc.Â
Also, the condition of each room and the purposes are not the same. Based on the goal, the paint can vary; for example, the state of a basement and your bedroom will not be identical; you might have to go for different paint options in that case.Â
Here are some key points that will help you choose the right paint for each of your rooms.
1. Kitchen
If you want warm colors for the kitchen, you can go for colors like orange and red. You can choose soft pumpkin orange as well. It is believed that orange color helps digestion.Â
However, if you prefer basic tones, you can opt for white, cream, or even light shades of blue (sky blue). Dark earthy browns can be a good option for the ones looking for darker shades in their kitchen.Â
Avoid using matte paints; it can catch stains easily and is also difficult to wipe. Gloss or semi-gloss is the appropriate choice for kitchens.
2.         Bathroom
The use of light tones in a bathroom is always recommended as it provides a calming effect and helps to relax the skin. You can go for ivory, buttery white, light pink, or blue(aqua). Any light shades will work and will make the bathroom look more open in the presence of natural light.Â
The bathroom is mainly filled with moisture; due to that, a glossy wall is usually preferred as the glossier paints have tighter molecules than flat paints, making them less prone to absorb moisture.Â
3.         Bedroom
Bedrooms are mostly the most low-impacted area of the house, and hence, you can add any shade of your choice. Blue colors on the bedroom walls make it inherently relaxing. Researches have proved that people get more sleep in a blue room. Blue paint is also believed to lower blood pressure, thereby indicating relaxation.Â
If you do not prefer blue, there are other mind relaxing colors you can experiment with, such as grey, grey-green, purple, and many more. Take help from your home painters in Brooklyn primarily to find out more shades.
4.         Living Room
The living room is one that room where you can experiment with multiple colors and show your creativity. The living room is usually that area of a house where the guest comes, and you interact, and hence you prefer to make it the most attractive place of your home.
You can opt for red in combination with a contrasting color like yellow; red is one of the most attractive colors and can draw attention provided you choose the right shade. Muted red will be a fantastic choice.
You can also go for other tones like jewel tones to give your living room a royal touch.Â
5.         Home OfficeÂ
Yellow and green shades are mostly suggested as office shades as they help keep the mind awake and active. You can also opt for neutral tones like blue, pink, or white.Â
While choosing shades for your office, avoid bright and bold shades; the home painter in NYC primarily recommends soft and neutral tones.
6.         Basements
The masonry walls of the basement mostly give off water vapor. You must be fortunate if your basement doesn’t. But, if they do liberate water in that case, special precautions must be taken while painting those walls.Â
Painting options are numerous and vary from one painter to another. However, by choosing the best contractor, you can expect to get the most variations. Reliable Home Contractor in Brooklyn and NYC is one of the most reputed home contactors in Brooklyn; they have master class experts who can help you pick the best options for you.

TAFAKKUR: Part 218
The Magical World of the Mosquito
O humankind! A parable is struck, so pay heed to it: Those whom, apart from God, you deify and invoke will never be able to create even a fly, even if all of them were to come together to do so. And if a fly snatches away anything from them, they cannot recover that from it. Powerless indeed is the seeker, and (so is) the sought! (Al-Hajj 22:73)
In some verses of the Qur’an, mosquitoes and other small creatures are mentioned; when these verses were revealed to Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, some unbelievers sarcastically responded, saying: “This does not seem like the word of God.” They mocked these verses as they thought that God Almighty would not give examples of such “trivial and non-significant” animals in His Book. Later, Almighty God revealed another verse related to these responses:
God does not disdain to strike any parable – (that of) something like a gnat or something greater or lower than it. Those who have already believed know that it is the truth from their Lord. As to those whose unbelief has long been established in their hearts, they say, “What does God mean by such a parable?” Thereby He leads many astray, and thereby He guides many. He thereby leads none astray save the transgressors. (Al-Baqara 2:26)
During the revelation of the Qur’an, biological and physical sciences were not adequate to explain and shed light onto some of the sublime verses regarding these small creatures. However, in this century we have witnessed astounding advances in science and now we are better able to understand the extraordinary structure of such creatures. Once again, we are amazed at the accuracy, precision and eloquence of the Qur’an, which illuminated not only the Age of Ignorance, but also the modern world. Even though for believers the harmony of the universe testifies to the existence of the All-Knowing One without a need for understanding the details of physics or biology, for non-believers masses of learning or years of scientific education may have led them astray. In this article, even though the Qur’anic verses mentioned above speak of flies in general, our focus will be given in particular to the biological aspects of mosquitoes. Â
Mosquitoes are two-winged flies that belong to the family Culicidae. In nature there are approximately 3,500 species of mosquitoes. They have a pair of scaled wings, a pair of halteres,1 a slender body, and long legs. Their length varies, but is rarely greater than 16 mm (approximately 0,6 inches), and they can weigh up to 2,5 mg. A mosquito can fly for 1 to 4 hours continuously at up to 1 mile/h, traveling up to 6 miles in a night.2 Most species are nocturnal or crepuscular (dawn or dusk) feeders. During the heat of the day most mosquitoes rest in a cool place and wait for evening.
It is widely thought that mosquitoes are insects that live on blood.  On the contrary, this is not true, because not all mosquitoes suck blood; only female mosquitoes do. Mentioning the mosquito in the feminine form in the Qur’an can be considered to be one of its miracles, not only because the female mosquitoes are more powerful and complex than the males, but also because they transmit and spread diseases. The male mosquitoes appear only in breeding seasons and they feed only on plant juices.
Females do not require blood for their own survival, but they do need supplemental substances (like protein and iron) found in blood to develop eggs. Prior to and during blood feeding, they inject saliva into the bodies of their source(s) of blood. Female mosquitoes hunt their blood host by detecting carbon dioxide (CO2) and 1-Octen-3-ol from a distance. Circulating blood in animals and humans radiates body heat. Thanks to the sophisticated heat sensors installed in their body, mosquitoes follow body heat and exhaled gases and fly to their target. From an unbiased point of view, that who led to the creation of carbon dioxide and 1-Octen-3-ol must have led to the creation of the sensors of female mosquitoes, allowing them to sense these chemicals. That who created the eggs of mosquito must have been aware of the needs of these eggs. This process alone proves the extensiveness of mercy, knowledge, wisdom and encompassment of a Conscious Sustainer Who is operating behind all these processes.
When mosquitoes land on their prey they search for a thin place on the skin where a great deal of blood is passing. In order for the mosquito to obtain blood it must circumvent the physiological responses of the prey. The mosquito sprays the place from where it is to suck blood with a type of local anesthetic. When blood flows from a cut, with the help of enzymes the blood quickly coagulates. The mosquito uses an elusive mechanism to effectively block the clotting of blood with their saliva, which contains a complex mixture of secreted proteins. Mosquito saliva also contains enzymes that facilitate in sugar feeding as well as antimicrobial agents that control bacterial growth in the sugar. Mosquito saliva contains fewer than 20 dominant proteins.3 Although there has been great progress in determining these molecules and their role in bloodfeeding, scientists are still unable to ascribe functions to more than half of the molecules found in mosquito saliva.
In general, there are four distinct stages in the life cycle of the mosquito: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. The adult is a flying insect, while the larvae and pupae are aquatic and live only in fresh water. All mosquito species lay their eggs on fresh water or on a moist surface. These eggs will not hatch until covered by rising water caused by rainfall, melting snow in the spring, or other such phenomena. The larvae of all mosquitoes live in water and have four developmental periods. In this stage, the larva actively feeds on organic material in the water. The larvae of most species have a breathing tube and come to the surface of the water to get oxygen. The durations of this stage depends on the species and the water temperature. The mosquito pupa is very active and lives in water. The pupa has a comma-shaped body with two visible separate regions. The tail of the comma is the developing abdomen of the mosquito. The abdomen is composed of nine segments. Between each abdominal segment are flexible areas that allow the pupa to swim. Active movement is unusual for most insect species during the pupal stage; however, mosquitoes will dive under water when the surface is disturbed or there is a disruption in light penetrating the water. The pupa has two large “paddles” on the eighth segment of the abdomen that propel it through the water as the abdomen flexes up and down. When the abdominal movement stops, the pupa floats back to the top of the water. A float hair, found on the first segment of the abdomen, helps the pupa to stabilize on the water’s surface. The pupal stage lasts for a few days and this is the stage when all the larval tissues change into adult tissues. The adult mosquito is capable of flying long distances. Males and females mate during the first 3 to 5 days after they have emerged from the pupal stage. Females mate only once. Males generally live for only a week and their primary function is reproduction.
The entire body of the adult mosquito is covered by an exoskeleton layer which provides the body with strength and support. The body of an adult mosquito has three regions, the head, thorax, and abdomen. The head contains the eyes, antennae, palpi,4 and mouthparts of the mosquito. Mosquitoes have compound eyes. This means their eyes are made up of numerous facets. Each facet is capable of forming a separate image. Therefore, the multi-imaging eye allows the mosquito to see movement over a large area, helping it to react quickly. The antennae are important sensory organs for the adult mosquito. They house a very significant sensory structure called the Johnston organ that helps to transmit movements of the antennae to the brain. The antennae differ according the sex of a mosquito. Males have many hairs on their antennae, making them look fury, while females have very few hairs. The mosquito has two sets of wings, the fore wings and the hind wings. The fore wings are used to propel the mosquito through the air, while the hind wings are highly modified structures that help to balance the mosquito during flight. Mosquitoes do not have lungs; rather, they receive oxygen through holes on their skins. These holes open and close according to the amount of oxygen the insect needs to function. Oxygen exchange takes place by diffusion. The mosquito has a needle, a hollow in the upper lip, which has a special cover used while sucking the blood from the skin of prey. The skin is not pierced by this needle, as thought, but by the upper mandible which look like a knife, and the lower mandible which has teeth leaning inward, that works and moves as a saw. The hollow lower lip has a lubricant that gathers the parts of the mouth as one organ. The skin of the prey is pierced by the upper mandible, which works as a knife, and in piercing the needle is inserted until it reaches a vein, and then the mosquito starts to suck blood. This process clearly indicates that mosquitoes have the necessary equipment to survive and sustain life in an amazing manner.
However, mosquitoes tend to carry various disease that spread viruses and parasites; they do not succumb to these diseases themselves. The principal mosquito-borne diseases are viral diseases, like yellow fever, dengue fever and malaria. Mosquitoes are thought to transmit disease to more than 700 million people annually in Africa, South America, Central America, Mexico and much of Asia, with millions resulting in deaths. At least 2 million people annually die of these diseases. The first Qur’anic verse mentioned above is also quite striking in terms of the disease spreading aspect of these insects. A powerless animal can snatch away the health of person who could be regarded as powerful; however, both of them are weak against the will of the One who created them. Â

How To Easily Lose Weight Without Dieting
Restricting what you eat and how much you eat will not always work in your favor. Many studies have shown that restrictions of any kind are bound to fail in the long term. So, if you had previously gone on a strict diet and had some success but then bounced back to your fat weight again in a matter of weeks, you’re your own proof that restrictions don’t work!
But, fret not. You can certainly still lose a ton of weight without restrictions—all you have to do is make a few tweaks to your lifestyle. The following list of 16 simple ways will help you to lose weight without any forms of restriction. Imagine stepping on the scale and seeing your desired number pop up without depriving yourself or cutting out your favorite foods—and best of all, these terrific tips and tricks will help you achieve sustainable, long-term weight loss.
Carb Pairing trick burns 2 pounds of belly fat per day ? Click <<
1. Don’t Skip Breakfast
Contrary to popular belief, skipping meals doesn’t help you shed pounds. In fact, it’s the other way around! Skipping a morning meal causes your blood sugar to drop, making you feel hungry and sluggish throughout the morning. You’ll be more likely to binge on carb-rich or high-fat meals later on. Eating in the AM also gives your metabolism a nice boost, so you burn calories at a faster rate throughout the day.
2. Don’t Snack at Night
Do you snack when night rolls around? This destructive pattern can pack on the pounds. Your metabolism drops as you get ready to hit the pillow and catch some ZZZs. Breaking the habit can help you lose weight because you’ll end up consuming less calories throughout the day. Reduce your PM munchies by keeping your appetite under control and eating small, wholesome meals at regular intervals throughout the day. It also helps to brush your teeth after your final meal!
3. Drink More Water
Beverages besides water might taste great, but they often contain calories that add up throughout the day. These empty calories don’t affect hunger levels, so you’ll still eat as much as you would otherwise. Instead of drinking your calories, opt for good old H20. Sticking to water hydrates your body and helps it work efficiently while boosting your metabolism and curbing cravings.
4. Eat More Fruits and Vegetables
Fruits and vegetables contain tons of nutrients. Fresh produce can melt pounds by supplying you with essential vitamins, minerals, and fiber your body needs to feel fully satisfied. Thanks to their high water content, these volume-rich foods take up room in your stomach and make you feel full. Fruits and vegetables also curb your cravings for carb-laden, sugar-filled snacks, and can prevent you from mindlessly munching. Instead of filling up on meat, eat more fruits and vegetables!
5. Eat Foods Loaded With Fiber
Your ticket to a slimmer figure is fiber. Your body doesn’t actually digest fiber. Instead, the nutrient passes through the intestines, latching onto fat and calories as it leaves your system. Fiber also removes toxic waste from the colon while balancing acidity in the intestines. It also acts as a bulking agent and allows food to move through your digestive track quicker. Never underestimate the fat-burning powers of filling fiber!
6. Eat Until You Are Full
Losing weight comes down to burning more calories than you eat, which leads us to portion control. Granted, this doesn’t mean consuming teeny tiny portions of food. It involves eating just enough to feel satisfied and fully nourished. Monitoring what and how much you’re eating will tip the scales in your weight loss favor. Begin portioning your meals according to the amount of calories you should eat per day.
7. Set A Fitness Goal
Give yourself a goal of taking at least 10,000 steps per day, or running a few miles a week. Goals like these will force you to sneak more exercise into your schedule. Once you start achieving your goals and feeling victorious, you’ll likely start including them in your routine and live a more active lifestyle. There are apps you can get on your phone that count your steps.
8. Eat More Protein
Protein tames hunger and curbs cravings, keeping you feeling full throughout the day. As a result, you’ll eat less and trim calories from your menu. The slimming powers of protein work soon after leaving your plate and entering your mouth. Protein-packed foods take more energy to digest and metabolize, meaning you’ll burn calories by simply eating them!
9. Eat More Salad
Never underestimate the slenderizing powers of a nutritious salad! The leafy dish, especially when packed with fibrous, filling vegetables and lean protein, can hook you up with essential nutrients and help you achieve rapid weight loss. Keep in mind that numerous dressings are rich in calories, ultimately defeating the whole diet-friendly purpose of salad. Reach for clean, healthy vinaigrettes and dressings. Olive oil and vinegar tastes delicious and serves as a healthy alternative to store-bought dressings.
10. Keep Temptations at Bay
When it comes to weight loss, the out of sight, out of mind rule serves you well. Rid your cupboard of fatty, overly-processed snacks and keep unhealthy indulgences out of reach. For example, if that leftover birthday cake is calling your name, then pop it in the freezer or bring it to work. Keeping temptations away will keep cravings at bay.
11. Manage Your Stress
Stress can wreak havoc on your hormones, causing your body to enter fight-or-flight mode. During this response, your body releases cortisol, which stimulates insulin release and throws off your blood sugar levels. The result? Your body will latch on to every calorie consumed and your appetite will increase. Higher hunger levels and a slower metabolism don’t mix well when it comes to losing weight! Banish stress and stay calm and collected.
12. Stay Out Of Boredom
More often than not, mindless snacking comes from pure boredom. When there’s nothing to do, scoping the kitchen for something to munch on seems enticing. Instead of taking your boredom out by stocking up on calories, distract yourself by reading a book, calling a friend, or going for a walk. Research shows that cravings pass within ten minutes, so banish these cravings by using that time to do something productive!
13. Keep A Bowl Of Washed Fruits
Have fruits pre-washed and handy at all times. This will make them easier to access in times of extreme hunger! Readily-available fruits that don’t require any meal prep whatsoever will be calling your name next time you’re dealing with a grumbling tummy.
