Okay okay SO. First of all one of my best friends from back home showed me THIS FUCKING WEBSITE https://www.fantasytowngenerator.com/ it makes the most goddamn in depth maps like I made the capital city of axtia (what i renamed Zeus) and it generated 10,003 individual npcs for me so I've just been messing around with that right

Also. You may not be familiar with the changeling race in DnD, I'll link their page if you care Changeling - DND 5th Edition (wikidot.com) but basically they have the power to shapechange into anyone they want and they're my little blorbos and I love them. So of course I'm having changelings be a decently important race in Osira (continent name), they're widely feared because they're connected to the fae and also they do literally steal babies - changeling mothers have this instinctual urge to swap their newborn with a newborn of another race, some manage to resist but Not All. and when a changeling's been put in the place of another child they instinctively take the form of that child and hold it until their 15th birthday at which point they revert to their true form and that's also usually when they and their family find out they're a changeling. and usually they get kicked out. (this is all my worldbuilding btw this is not canon in dnd) so yeah I've got a changeling npc named Jessamin (true name Jex) and she's totally not a self insert and she's my favorite

Remember how I said I added two more gods? Yeah I did that. The Hunter used to be a human until she died leading a revolt against Axtia because oh yeah axtia is like not good and she was given immortality by the other god the Watcher who was tired of Axtia's antics. The Hunter trained for like several hundred years and then nearly succeeded in killing Axtia's avatar at which point Axtia was like oh shit she's like kind of a problem. Remember the Chasm? The big Texas-sized hole in the ground that causes a lot of fae-related issues? Yeah Axtia created the Chasm to imprison the Hunter 1 or 2 thousand years before the present day. So the party's objective will be to free the Hunter from the prison in the center of the Chasm and she will then proceed to do her damndest to kill Axtia and like half the other gods who are also not chill. The Watcher's mostly along for the ride, they've been keeping the Hunter up to date on everything that's been going on for as long as she's been locked up. It's forbidden to worship those two, not least because Axtia and the others would very much like people to not know they exist, but they have a decent underground following among mostly elves, tieflings, and changelings.

4. Which traits does your Watcher admire in others? Are theytraits that they themselves exhibit, or something that they aspire tobe more like?

Amaryllis –Honesty, kindness, a sense of adventure, nerdy-ness, people who stickto their ideals. That’s what she tries to be like. While shedisagreed with him, she has some respect for Thaos for following hisbeliefs although she strongly disagreed with his methods. She’spassionate, and admires people who can keep a cool head in heatedsituations which is something she is not good at.

Lillian –Directness, lack of equivocation, hard working. She has very littlepatience for political games or presumption.

9. Did yourWatcher hire any Adventurers to accompany them in their travels? Ifso, tell us a little about them.

None of theadventurers for these guys are particularly fleshed out as characters(I even had to pull up their games to find out who I created since Itend to use game companions after I pick them up and don’t considerthe adventurers to exist as far as their “canon” goes), buthere’s a list.

Amaryllis – Glorythe savanna folk paladin/monk and Gobbet the orlan chanter/monk (Iforgot I named these guys after Shadowrun characters XD)

Lillian – Hollythe orlan rogue, Jessamine the nature godlike chanter, and Rosaliethe mountain dwarf priest

Amaryllis – Hardtruths? She’s Honest, but diplomacy is not her strong suit. Not afan of “brutal honesty” because she believe in being kind. She’llcheerfully tell people what she learned in Sun and Shadow (she didpromise Iovara to spread the truth, after all).

Lillian – Hardtruths. She’s Honest and direct. However, she doesn’t exactlyadvertise the truth about the gods because she doesn’t feel likeit’ll do the general populace good to know.

...I'm only like an hour and half into Jessamine's game, I might start it over and make her Old Vailian instead of Aedyran, because I have stricken out again at making an Aedyran character whose name has letters that don't exist in the Aedyran alphabet ('J', in this case).

Or I could just have her been named by a Vailian, I had been leaning towards her having spent a good amount of time in the Republics.

...No, I don't want to start over, I'll just come up with a complicated backstory reason. Again.

I've been working on a playlist for Jessamine, and flipping through my Watcher playlists, most of them have an leaning towards an artist or even specific album.

Lillian's is The Indigo Girls, and honestly sometimes I just listen straight to Restrospective for Lillian vibes.

Amaryllis is Brandi Carlile, specifically The Firewatcher's Daughter.

Hazel is pretty mixed, but has a slight leaning to Brandi Carlile, Bear Creek.

Cal is also pretty mixed, but with a slight preference to Natalie Merchant and Sarah McLachlan.

And then there's Jessamine, whose leading artist is Stevie Nicks.

I actually don't know that Jessamine CAN romance Tekehu. Because she would 100% just immediately release the watershaping dragon, which breaks off the Huana quest chain, which I think prevents Tekehu's romance.

After a six hour outing to visit my in-laws for mother's day, I did not have the mental fortitude left to conquer Forgotten Sanctum (because new things are scary), so I did start a new game for the new iteration of Watcher Jessamine!

Still working on her backstory (and surname), but I know she's an escaped slave come to Dyrwood to start a new life, and everything goes horribly wrong. She's a trained singer, spy, and assassin.

I'm a little worried her stats are spread too thin, but I'm also playing on Easy, so. (I have been debating on bumping up to Normal because it's been a bit too easy.)(I used to be good enough at this game to play it on Hard once upon a time...)

I'm trying real hard to not fall for Aloth for the fourth time, and instead ship her with Tekehu or maybe even Pallegina. (I don't think her and Maia would work out, and I don't think she'll be close to Xoti.)
