Can I just drop something I really love about watcher Tubbo and Tommy? One of my friends pointed out Wilbur and Grian have the same eyes and general aesthetic for minecraft skins, so I have a crackpot au where Grian and Wilbur are siblings, so like... Putting those two aus together? Funny as shit. Grian shows up at Wilburs base after a while with T&T just like, "Hey Wilbur? Bro? I think these kids belong to you, can you take them back now? They might be minor gods now, not my fault, BYE!" -Pepsi

Brothers!au Crossed with the Watcher!Tubbo and Tommy

ok so I basically am forcing myself to take a break from writing my own stuff and so here we are. For anyone who doesn’t know, this is a continuation of that one post that pami made where all of Tommy’s memories are now in Tubbo and its lots of fun :D

No. No this couldn’t be happening. This had to be a nightmare, some sort of hellish reality that his brain had come up with. He had failed them… He had failed them all. His brother was already dead because of him, and now the family he had surrounded himself with was lost. 

Tommy couldn’t even remember his own name, and Tubbo… Tubbo had seemingly gone completely insane. Wilbur sat in the dingy prison cell, watching the young teenager for god knows how long. He had just sat there, clinging onto Wilbur’s shirt, muttering to himself about nothing. Every now and then, Tubbo would let out a sharp laugh, making the older man jump in surprise. 

He needed to clear his mind. He needed to calm down. Sitting here with Tubbo, watching as he began to cry, then laugh, then shout in rage, it only served to fuel his panic. Hesitantly, he pulled out his phone. 

Ever since Grian had died in The Blur disaster seven years ago, Wilbur had somehow gotten into the habit of calling his phone whenever he was stressed. He knew that it was pointless, and that no one was ever going to pick up or answer, but something about hearing his brother’s voice in the voicemail recording was soothing. Plus, it gave him a way to vent out his emotions, without anyone actually having to sit and listen to them. 

With a trembling hand, he pulled up his brothers contact information and hit call. 

That was when he heard it. A voice, coming from somewhere behind him. But not just any voice, it was his voice. It sounded like it was several years old, perhaps from when he had just entered high school, but it was still his voice. 

“Hey you bitch! Stop ignoring your brother and pick up the fucking phone already before I-” the sound was cut off as someone swore under their breath. No… No this wasn’t possible. Wilbur recognized that voice clip. It was the clip that he had set as Grian’s ringtone as a prank. But that was years ago… And the only person who had ever even had access to that audio file was Grian himself. So who was hiding in the shadows?

“Look, I don’t know who you are, but you better fucking reveal yourself. You have some explaining to do,” He called out, standing up as straight as he could. His voice held a slight tremble, but he did his best to hide it. 

A person stepped out from the shadows, and Wilbur felt his breath catch in his throat. Standing directly before him, just out of arms reach, was his twin brother. The brother that had died seven years ago in The Blur. The brother who he had left for dead. In many ways, it was like stepping back in time. Grian looked exactly the same as he had before he died. Everything, from his hair to his height, even the bruises and bandages that covered his arms, it all looked exactly the same. 

But there was something different. A heavy sorrow seemed to surround him, as if he were holding the weight of the world on his shoulders. His eyes were no longer filled with the life and light that Wilbur had grown up seeing, but were now only filled with hopelessness and pain. 

“Uh, hi,"  he said, his voice quivering. 

Tears filled Wilbur’s eyes as he fell to his knees. This wasn’t real. It couldn’t be real, it wasn’t fucking real. It was a trick, a hallucination. Some sort of ghost or memory from his past, only there to remind him of how much he had fucked up. A reminder of how he had failed his family. Both of his families. 

"No… Leave me alone, you aren’t real!” He cried out

His brother’s face filled with pain, which only served to twist the knife in Wilbur’s heart. “It’s good to see you again too Will…" 

The tears only fell faster. Wilbur kneeled in the dingy cell for what felt like hours, clutching his stomach and trying to control the waves of sobs that ran through him. The only other sounds that pierced the quiet air, were the hysterical giggles of the broken boy next to him.

"Geez, Wil, I'm sor- wait what?" Tommy shot out of bed looking at Wilbur.

"I- I'm just glad you're okay." Wilbur walks up to Tommy, eyes watering.

"Wil, I- what's going on?" Tommy asks.

"You... don't know?" Wilbur replies, pulling away from Tommy.

"Yeah, I- I just woke up and- and you've said it's been months and now you're hugging me and-"

"Tommy, you- you seriously don't remember?"

"I- I don't."

"Wait... Tommy, where's Tubbo?"

"Sorry, who now?"

OR Tommy and Tubbo have also stopped aging, so the whole Watcher thing is a bit in the past, and then Techno and Dream have to deal with the knowledge that the children they've been bullying are technically on-par with and are friends with the demi-god they've been worshipping. Like, Techno realizing that this kid he's been treating like a little brother and bullying has these otherworldly powers is amazing. 🐙

Okay we’re here making a lot of angst (I was too, I’m the anon that started the tommy and tubbo watcher stuff) and it’s great but all I can think about is They absolutely do NOT respect authority. Grian wouldn’t talk for Techno for weeks. Techno would to be shocked, and disappointed in himself, and anxious to be willing to take the first step to go and talk to Grian, at least for a while. seriously how do you apologize to your god/friend that you shot and (temporarily) killed someone he views as his brother?

I actually am not caught up yet.. but. GOD. I don’t know how supportive Dream was of that entire plan, but yeah in the worship au Dream ends up bringing offerings and stuff to Grian too. Yep, there’s a branch of the twins/brothers au of them being related! In Dream fanart when he doesn’t have his mask on, he usually just looks like a green Grian. 

Ooooh noooo I just realized the Wilbur+Grian brother au is sooooo much more angsty given Wilbur's recent streams. It would've been bad enough for Grian to see one of his high school best friends go insane and become a violent hazard to society, now he has to witness it happen AGAIN, this time to his long lost brother.

OK SO HERES A SUMMARY OF ALL THE SHIT WE TALKED ABOUT EARLIER BECAUSE IM BORED

- The Brothers!AU and watcher!Tubbo and Tommy au’s are connected.

- In this version, Wilbur and Grian haven’t met yet. Wilbur doesn’t know that Grian is alive.

- However, Grian knows about Wilbur being alive. Whenever he’s stressed out, Wilbur calls Grian’s phone and just talks for hours. He tells himself that he’s just trying to get all his ideas out, but in reality he just enjoys hearing Grian’s voicemail message thing and feels like he’s actually talking to his brother. 

- Grian always listens to the voicemails, no matter how long they are. He can’t tell Wilbur that he’s alive because the Watchers made him swear to leave his old life behind. Because of this, he’s been watching Wilbur grow up from the sidelines for the past 7 years. 

- When the two of them were younger, Wilbur set Grian’s ringtone for him to a really annoying song, and Grian never changed it due to the fact that he missed his brother. 

- OK SO BACK TO THE WATCHER!AU

- We’re gonna go with the one where Tommy’s memories were wiped and all the memories were given to Tubbo. 

- This is an extension of that thing that Pami wrote

- So Wilbur has found Tubbo in the prison cell, muttering to himself and pretty much completely insane, since his mind just can’t handle all the memories. 

- Wilbur sits there with Tubbo for a while, trying to comfort him. Thats when he pulls out his phone and does what he would normally do. He tried to call Grian. Of course, he knows that no one will answer, but just talking about it makes him feel better. 

- Thats when he hears it. 

- As he calls Grian, he can hear a song playing behind him. The same annoying song that Wilbur had set to be Grian’s ringtone 

- He turns around, only to see the brother he had thought was dead stepping out of the shadows. It feels like he’s been sent back 7 years. Right in front of him is his dead brother, looking exactly the same as he did before he died, cuts and bruises and everything. 

- Now, Wilbur doesn’t think that he’s real. He thinks that Grian is just some sort of punishment from his mind. He already failed one of his families, and now with Tubbo and Tommy, he’s failed another one. The fact that Grian now has these giant purple wings doesn’t help Wilbur’s mental state at all.
