Man I had to put this somewhere and just scream into the void a moment but Balloon SMP was so good... I pretty much only have Team F's perspective since I watched their streams live but the story from their perspective wraps up the individual, team, and overarching plotlines SO well. Slapping down the read more for rambling and spoilers
The emotional catharsis of Team F almost never really being together as a full team, fighting and fracturing and dying and reviving and dying and reviving and dying and reviving and dy--
But MAN the individual plotlines all coalescing around the themes of family and trust and the dynamic was SO good and watching in real time as they fractured and then came back together and finally, FINALLY got to say what was on their minds was so good!
Kuu's perspective was fantastic (highly recommend for Reasons) and going from that to Robby's Nightly Emotional Whiplash was SO fun live. It's ALSO really fun in the VODs.
And the ending... We That Have Been Lost May Still Rise, If Only For a Moment, And All Be Lighter Than The Air meant to be bookended by And Forests Shall Rise In Our Wake, one who held souls within them and found out how to release them in a different fashion as the world around them slowly encroached on the end, as they forsake joining those they cared for and looked after to send others on their journey... and looked after those who chose to remain behind The fact the story ebbed and changed and got REALLY weird but still managed a satisfying conclusion was SO cool and introduced me to a bunch of new people. Very excited for the multiple perspective cuts and other team VODs that are already coming out and hopeful for more later on! Literally no idea what happened the first like. 8 days for anyone else LOL
Idk it was just really good and it's so cool to see a bunch of really cool people just hang out and have fun and tell this compelling story. in minecraft!
Okay. I'm done rambling I think. Go watch BSMP and support the people who made it happen because what a ride. https://balloonsmp.neocities.org/
#Go watch balloonSMP#SO good#and when you're done watching the like multiple months worth of content LOL you should follow everyone#great time all around good vibes#watch a streamer watch a streamer on tv in minecraft who then watches a streamer watch a streamer watch a streamer--

omg literally in love with hasan but i’m a pretty new fan of his & i was wondering if you could give like a lil run down of all his people 😭😭
i’m getting into fear&, i’ve watched a a bunch of vids, but i’m a little curious abt will & austin, like how did they meet hasan, what do they do exactly, stuff like that??
i need to get caught up on the lore!! tysmm
Will: Probably the most important person on this list. Meet Hasan when they were in collage, I think it was Hassans second year and will forth year. He mad short sketches for a while, he used to work at BuzzFeed, and has gone and officially graduated from multiple comedy schools. If you see me talk about a Caroline, that's his girlfriend. Fear& co-host.
Austin: the gay one TM. He host a lot of game show like content on twitch, he just ended Name Your Price (price is right), Love or host and The Rajj Show (most every dating show ever), and The Roast of (which he stole from QT Who atole from TV). They meet five years ago, when Austin was going by Rajj Patel. This is a good recap. Fear& co-host
Qt: Mother. I love QT. If there's an event she's probably the one who planned it. Host the streamer awards, ShitCamp, and Girls trip. Queen of baking. If you watch some of the old episodes of love or host, Austin's old show, then she's bitch and we love that. I miss brunette qt. Also is dating Ludwig. Fear& co-host.
Ludwig: dating QT, she made him. You know that joke about having a younger sibling who has the capacity to succeed at almost anything, that's ludwig. Held the record for longest stream in twitch, become the top earned and then immediately signed to YouTube. Makes bidets.
Myth: unironically the best and most talented person in the group. I don't watch alot of him, but irl stuff is always really fun. I'm partial to shitcamp content that he's in.
Tubbo: not super important, but included because we love tubbo. British, Minecraft streamer, super into computers.
Murat: No a part of the streaming scene, but is his brother. Two years younger than Hasan, went to collage in Oklahoma. Is/was a volunteer firefighter, is an engineer. The better Piker™. Owns Fiona.
#i couldnt really find pocs for murat or myth#myth#tubbo#hasanabi#hasan piker#murat piker#ludwig#ludwig ahgren#qt cinderella#QTCinderella#will neff#austin show#twitch#twitch streamer

I... LIVE for the fact that QSMP worked so well as a minecraft server with a small(in terms of people in the world) audience of mostly teenagers or people who are only starting to become adults...
But if it was an animated adult cartoon with the same premise, story lines and arcs, characters, and streamers as the voice actors that arrived on TV...
The internet and humanity itself would lose their fucking minds over what the hell their watching for SO many different reasons.

hooloooo i see you rebagel a lot of stuff for mcyt... what is that? how do i watch it? it sounds so dramatic and full of lore! thankya!
OH WOW ok!!! alright. sit down because i am about to learn you a thing!!!! so MCYT stands for "minecraft youtube" and it actually encompasses a HUGE amount of youtubers/twitch streamers, minecraft smps, content, and storylines. A LOT of different creators fall under the MCYT umbrella, but the SMPs are probably what you're talking about, because those are FULL of lore. you don't have to watch one to understand another, although some might make references to other SMPs. think of it like... huge DND campaigns but in minecraft. they roleplay as fictionalized versions of themselves and do a lot of improv acting
the servers i'm into right now are the DSMP and QSMP!! the DSMP was a server owned by Dream (who is kind of a shit person which is part of the reason the server ended) but the storyline created by creators on the server like Wilbur Soot, Tommyinnit, Technoblade, and a lot of others was AMAZING. they created this insane story about a small nation who went to war, there was a revolution, an election that resulted in a dictatorship, and so much more. oh my god it was so cool. someone named EvanMC made videos summarizing some major plot points (playlist here), but if you REALLY want to get into it, there's a channel called Blueberry TV that's making full recap videos, and the playlist (here) has like. over 300 videos so far. BUT NOT ALL OF THEM ARE NECESSARY TO UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING!! you can skip ahead at a lot of points, or even just find a single creator's character you like and watch vods or videos from their point of view. i would highly recommend Wilbur Soot, Tommyinnit, Tubbo, BadBoyHalo, or Quackity because their roleplay was consistently just absolutely insane, but i'd also recommend POVs like Fundy, Captain Puffy, DropsByPonk, or Jack Manifold if you want to explore different viewpoints! I know Wilbur and Tommy have made edited down videos of many of their DSMP vods, so that might be a decent place to start if you're curious (although searching for those in the mess of their other videos might be a hassle lol), or you can skim the wiki if you'd like (here!!!) it officially ended i think late 2022-early 2023 (i can't remember) but the official canon ending to the overall story is really up in the air, so it's mostly left to fan interpretation now.
THE QSMP IS SO GOOD oh my god. it's a huge multilingual server that started around March and is still going!! it was started by Quackity, and the plot really started when a bunch of eggs appeared on the island and the members were paired up to take care of them, with one English speaking creator and one Spanish speaking creator to a pair. eventually five Brazilians were invited to the server, and later some French creators as well!! they're all trapped on this one island by an organization called the Federation, and no one knows exactly what's going on, but there are mysteries to solve and monsters to fight and lots of found family elements in the overall plot. if you want some general recaps, the official QSMP Info channel has a couple videos recapping stuff (link here) and there are channels like Angry Thomas that make bite sized videos (like 5-20 minutes) about some general plot points. Quackity ofc has his own vod channel where you can watch his streams and learn about his character's lore. you can also skim the wiki (link here) to familiarize yourself with some of the characters. if all else fails you can probably make a post asking for the plot and throw it in the qsmp tag here on tumblr and you'll get a decent handful of people in your notes giving you a sparknotes summary. we love talking about our weird little minecraft guys
The DSMP and QSMP are so good in their own ways, the DSMP for its insane improv roleplay and the QSMP for its crazy planned events and and the way it brings multiple communities and cultures together!!! you don't have to watch one to understand the other. i suggest you only get into one at a time because they are both crammed with backstory and lore. i'd recommend getting into QSMP first because it's still going, and once you feel more or less caught up, you can probably test the DSMP waters. they can both get quite heavy in their stories, so if you need a list of trigger warnings or anything feel free to ask and i can def provide :3 if you're intrigued by either of them but don't know exactly where to start, i'd suggest the Blueberry TV playlist for DSMP and the Angry Thomas videos or the Quackity VODs for QSMP. see if there are any creators you enjoy watching and go from there!!!! consuming the stories of these SMPs is a bit difficult because there's so much content, but no one is expected to watch every single video or stream by every creator. a lot of the story gets passed around through word of mouth through the fandoms, so don't feel bad if you feel like you miss anything!!! if you have questions, you can ask just about anyone in the fandoms and they'll probably have an answer!!!
if you're interested but need a little more convincing, feel free to shoot me another ask. i will gladly ramble about my favourite minecraft roleplay characters. it's like my entire life at this point i think it's a problem <3

Alright, enough of things from *insert place* that would put other people in a coma; here’s things that I interact with every day that would kill a high value alpha male on site:
The tv show willow: honestly I think they would watch the first episode, see Kit and Jade kiss, and then immediately perish. The vibes of the this show are too queer and powerful for their small minds
Rock climbing: now you would like a high value alpha male would be good at rock climbing since they all never shut up about how strong they are, but let me tell you something. I’ve been a climber for years, and there is so much technique involved; not just with your climbing movements, but all of the different types of hand holds as well. They would go into it so cocky and arrogant and get absolutely demolished.
Therapy: I mean, no explanation needed, we all know what will happen.
My fashion professor: listen, I love this woman with all of my heart she is the single most intense person I’ve ever met. this 5’3”, 65 year old is an absolute force, she would humble an alpha male so quickly
Foolish_gamers: if you don’t know who this is, foolish he’s a variety streamer on twitch. I’ve been watching him for a few years now, and for reference this is what he looks like
Yeah. Now, I know what you’re thinking, how could this insanely gorgeous person defeat a high value alpha male? Well, I’ll tell you how. foolish dresses like such a frat boy, and also works out a lot, so an alpha male would immediately like him. but upon finding out he’s the kindest, sweetest person ever that also listens to/respects women like a motherfucker they couldn’t handle it. He’s also an absolute nerd that plays Minecraft/valorant all day, he is quite literally their worst enemy.
A single interaction with Brennan lee mulligan: I mean this with my whole heart Brennan would take one look at Andrew tate and just utterly obliterate him with the most elegantly crafted improvised monologue you’ve ever heard. He’s also a native New Yorker so he can also cuss them out just as easily.

The thing about me is I fucking hate everything that seems to have mass appeal, and this isn't a me being superior thing, it's a damn everything tends to be made in ways I can't enjoy
Like battle royale and pvp in general... can't stand it, and yet it's a huge fucking market. Fortnite actually looked good to me back when it was a horde based builder thing, and then it turned into one of the most miserable things you could hope to design from my point of view
Just a whole lot of stuff like that... streaming in general if I'm honest, barring a few situations I really don't care for live content. I'm not the kind of people who chats, so for me I like being able to pause and skip way more than seeing stuff as it is
Also for me... like I love minecraft, live streamed minecraft even as an archive is soporific to me
Like I get it, especially from the streamer's point of view, I think I might even like being the one streaming and getting some company while I do something (there's some games I'd like to play again but really only if I had company, like Geneforge or Might and Magic 6)
But yeah... to be clear, there's zero value being placed here other than at most at total befuddlement over why people like some stuff
(And that's more towards like... how can you fucking stomach buying loot boxes and stuff?)
Anyway... was just thinking about how much I fucking hate youtube "premieres" as a feature... no, I want to just watch the video, I don't want it live streamed to me when it's prerecorded. All you're doing is making this so for the first however long the video is I'm being kneecapped and forced to watch tv
It's not the end of the world, it becomes a normal video after that, but it's like... videos that are just uploaded and I catch seconds after they upload, vs premiered... there's no context in my preference

Generation Loss Part One: The Analysis
June 8, 2023
Trigger warnings for: horror, disillusioned reality, and theatrical gore.
Generation Loss is a horror web series written by, directed by, and starring Ranboo. Ranboo is a popular live streamer who has over four million followers. A live streamer is someone who broadcasts themselves to an audience, often on YouTube or Twitch, in their broadcasts they can do anything. A majority of streamers play video games.
Much like other online content creators, Ranboo’s real name isn’t publicly available. He is 19 years old and uses he/they pronouns. He wears a face mask because he has severe facial dysmorphia. Ranboo rose to fame in late 2020 after joining the Dream SMP (Survival Multiplayer) Minecraft server. He quickly became a fan favorite due to his improvisational acting skills. Currently Ranboo streams many different video games on his Twitch channel and is a member of the Sorry Boys YouTube channel. A channel that features many of his previous Dream SMP peers.
Ranboo has been working on Generation Loss for the last two years. Paying for the entire project himself. It has been a labor intense passion project. Ranboo got greatly injured on set but persevered. The series premiered on May 24 and finished on May 28. With three episodes, roughly an hour and a half each. All episodes were acted live – like a play – with rare moments of prerecorded clips. The audience voted on the choices Ranboo’s character, also called Ranboo, could make in real time. Like a video game protagonist.
https://x.com/Ranboosaysstuff/status/1661524533780652033?s=20
Episode #1
The episode began with the initial tone and set similar to another famous live-streamed project, Jerma's Dollhouse. Many fans were shocked as we had been anticipating a more serious tone of horror. Due to the content trigger warnings. Ranboo wakes up in a cabin in the middle of space and time. Charlie Slimecicle (Charles Dalgleish) appears as a slime demon. He lets Ranboo leave the cabin, but the dimension the cabin is stuck in is “Actual Christian Hell”. Not wanting to be stuck in hell, Ranboo agrees to cook the demon dinner in exchange for being free to go to a different dimension. Which he wins but is granted freedom to the slime dimension. He returns back to the cabin. The episode momentarily goes off the rails into a much more serious tone once the first VHS tape appears. VHS tapes have been a staple of the current wave of Analog Horror genre, as well as in previous promotional material for Generation Loss. The viewers quickly learned that not everything is as it seems in the Gen. Loss universe and that there is a meta narrative. Ranboo watches the tape and is contacted by a mysterious hacker named Hetch (Criken/Keenan Mosimann). He leaves Ranboo and the audience with more questions than answers. Ranboo flees to the basement, running into Sneegsnag (Brendan Thro) in a cage. After two fights, one with Sneeg and one with demon Charlie, who ends up possessing a rag, the episode ends. Both Charlie and Sneeg are essential characters for the rest of the show, but in different ways than episode one. Episode one is, in the meta narrative, a TV show made by the villains of Gen. Loss; Showfall Media. The episode ends with a cliffhanger of Ranboo being kidnapped. A jarring change of the campy comedy to a mature horror tone. This was also the episode that caused Ranboo to go to the E.R. in real life thanks to a live wire burning him. He didn’t stop the show stream as he didn’t understand how badly he was injured at the moment. Which is shockingly pertinent to the show and its commentary on streaming culture.
Episode #2
Episode two begins in a saw-like room with Ranboo tied up to an electrocution device in front of TV. Jerma985 (Jeremy Elbertson) an incredibly famous streamer and personal hero of Ranboo's plays a villain named The Puzzler. He speaks through the TV. After his character shocks Ranboo, he figures out and escapes the trap. Ranboo runs into a room made to look like an abandoned hospital. He sees Charlie on an operation table. However, he's not the silly slime demon anymore, he's just a normal person. In saw like fashion Ranboo must cut a key out of his stomach. This is all played for laughs, with slime green blood and ridiculous props in the fake stomach. In one of the most stomach-churning moments of the series' meta narrative Showfall's 'reality filter' breaks. The screen gains a red frame, the slime changes to blood red, and Charlie screeches in pain. It is the first major sign something is wrong here. The filter returns and the joking nature does too. Ranboo runs to the next room. This room and scene is one of my favorites in the entire series. Ranboo sees five other streamers tied to a playground carousel. All with t.n.t. necklaces visually similar to Ranboo’s mask. The Puzzler shows up through the TV, but steps out of it this time. Each streamer must convince Ranboo, and the audience, as to why their character should live. Some seem more aware of reality than others. It's harrowing. Each of the five streamers are labeled and reduced to a few words in their onscreen name card. CrankGamePlays (Ethan Nestor) labeled as Unemployed, he pleads to live for his goldfish. Austin Show is labeled as his sexuality 'Gay' [quick aside this is done in jest of homophobic censorship - Ranboo himself is also gay.] He pleads to live for his totally real wife and kids. Sneeg is labeled as The Taken. Sneeg’s episode one hat is taken out of Charlie’s stomach. The Puzzler returns it to Sneeg, breaking his filter of reality. At his turn to speak he asks to go to the restroom. The assistants lead Sneeg into the restroom. It's clear he's attempting an escape and the entire game is paused. He is returned with people in masks that match the Gen. Loss mascot. He struggles but is controlled by a matching mask. Lead back to his spot the game continues as normal. As Showfall planned. He has a cherry attitude and is excited to possibly live. Nihachu (Nikita “Niki”) is labeled Nice. She has been the most aware of her fate, the entire scene sobbing. All she can plead is that she’s nice. VinnyVinesauce (Vincent Franzetti) labeled Hoarder. Insisting he’s useful as he can find items to beat puzzles. Niki and Sneeg are chosen to move on. The next room is a Willy Wonka inspired candy room in which the contestants play the board game Mousetrap to escape. Niki is killed off by the Puzzler and then replaced by Vinny. A few similar scenes of another game and audience puzzle followed by character death occur. Ranboo, as the hero, outlives them all. He is not guiltless, causing Ethan’s death directly, and the others indirectly. The cliffhanger ending is honestly spectacular. The Puzzler is killed off by Showfall. Ranboo runs into his office. Hetch hacks into Ranboo’s mask allowing him to 'see' reality. He walks past the camera crew and into the lobby of a giant mall. Now confronted with the fact everything he knows is fake. It’s surreal. His illusion and the audiences are both shattered. Ranboo isn’t the story’s hero. He has been a pawn the entire time.
https://x.com/Ranboosaysstuff/status/1662256733572542464?s=20
Episode #3
Episode three is a wild ride. Ranboo is told by Hetch he must find the server room “the heart of Showfall” and kill Showfall's system. Freeing everyone stuck in the endless loop of dying and being unwilling entertainment. He, of course, has concerns but unable to trust anything else, obeys. Ranboo makes it to the server room and in his only act of defiance ever ignores the audience's vote on the computer code. [Watching it live was an experience.] Putting in what he thinks is best. The system crashes, and he loses connection to Hetch. Ranboo finds and frees Charlie, this character the actual streamer version of Charlie, from a fast-food stall made to look like his home office while he was live streaming a mindless reaction video and begging for money. [Again, live viewing this was so wild.] Ranboo screams at his audience, ripping off his headphones and breaking the camera to free him. The two plan to escape. Being hunted by Showfall employees they run to the set of episode one. To push an 'emergency stop button'. Charlie dies in a self-sacrifice to a wiremonster to protect Ranboo. Ranboo pushes the button and looks to have won, sunlight glows and birds chirp. Before exiting he does an iconic bow, like The Truman Show. However, he is pulled into the shadows by Hetch. Ranboo is tied up to serve in a crucifixion pose, with an iron maiden box around his head. The audience must vote on whether his character lives or dies. It was one of the most visceral moments I've ever felt watching horror. At first, I voted for him to live but as Hetch explained, living would continue Showfall's cycle, myself and thousands of others rapidly changed our vote. [One vote per viewer but it wasn’t locked - you could change it.] Ranboo pleaded to die. In the end death won permanently, killing off Ranboo's character in his own show. We voted and crucified the hero. We broke the heart of Showfall.
The absolutely insane experience of watching live, of having direct influence over a pivotal moment in a project that I’ve excitedly waited to see for two years, it’s almost indescribable. I am so proud of everyone involved. I am still in shock and awe. The artful lens and craftsmanship that went into every sound, fiber, and wire of this set. The commentary on internet personalities being treated like toys, breakable and replaceable. On corporations controlling their entire self, on corporate greed being so explorative of a generation. I can’t stop thinking about it all.

Why It's Okay That Someone Hasn't Played Your Favorite Game
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/why-its-okay-that-someone-hasnt-played-your-favorite-game/
Why It's Okay That Someone Hasn't Played Your Favorite Game
At the end of every year, gamers are faced with an undeniable fact: far too many video games are released in a 12-month span for anyone to reasonably play them all. It’s literally my job to play video games and I bet someone could fill a reasonable top ten this year of titles I didn’t even get time to touch. But even as it’s a universal, undeniable truth, the revelation that you missed out on something popular is always met with the same incredulous statement.
“You’ve never played this?”
I understand the impulse. For instance, Baldur’s Gate 3 took up so many hours of my 2023 that it’s hard to fathom what the year would be like without it. This sentiment extends well beyond GOTY talks, though – some games are so fundamental to our taste or upbringing that it can be hard to process that people who did it differently exist. There are people who have never played a Zelda game or a Halo game, and I bet if you asked a middle school crowd, plenty of them have never played Wii Sports. But personally, any shock I experience is quickly overwritten by excitement. If someone I’m close to has never played one of my favorite games, then I get to do something even better than replaying it; I get to watch them experience it for the first time.
The earliest examples of this are undoubtedly tied to my relationship with my younger brother, Andre. A 6-year-old can’t play games as well as an 8-year-old, so sometimes it would be a few years before he would experience a single-player game. While I probably initially watched him because he was playing games on the only TV we had, it eventually became a fun way to reexperience games I held near and dear to my heart.
Fast forward ten years or so. As I’m about to go to college, I buy a PlayStation 4 to have in my dorm room. Later that year Spider-Man (2018) was released, and after so many hours of playing Spider-Man: Web of Shadows with my brother, I knew he would be excited to play this far superior version. So, I took the console home on the weekends and watched as he played while essentially getting a second playthrough myself. It scratches the same itch as watching a Twitch streamer, but it’s far more personal and interactive.
My gaming relationship with my partner is another great example. After we had been dating for a while, she decided to get a Switch of her own so we could play Animal Crossing together. Of course, once she had the console, she wanted to know what other games to try and wound up messing around with Breath of the Wild.
POV: It’s April 2020 and you’re on an Animal Crossing date with your girlfriend
One of the most common things you hear fans of Breath of the Wild (or other huge open-world games) say is, “I wish I could play it again for the first time.” I’m here to tell you – watching someone close to you try it out is the next best thing. Seeing the ways she would discover locations or enemies I was familiar with helped me to see them in a whole new light, and even though I had well over 150 hours in the game, I was shocked by how often she discovered things I missed.
I love video games, and because of that, there’s no better feeling than introducing someone to a game they end up loving. I got my Minecraft-obsessed friend to try Fortnite, and now it’s literally all he plays. In a few weeks, my partner’s mom went from being confused by my Marvel Snap lingo to complaining about the latest meta decks. And it’s always a joy to bust out Snipperclips at a party and watch people leave and consider getting it for themselves.
Here’s my advice. It’s going to sound preachy, but I mean it. Next time you hear someone say they haven’t played one of your favorites (or vice versa), don’t look at it as a failure in their pop culture experience. Look at it as an opportunity to connect with this person and learn or share exactly why this game is so important to warrant that reaction. Watching my friends play games has led to some of my favorite memories – maybe you can make some too.
Do you have any fond memories of introducing people to games? Let us know in the comments!

Week 9: Gaming Communities, Social Gaming and Live Streaming
What is the game?
A game can be restricted activities, a thing made up of rules, small activities of its own brought about by the rules, or a place where artificial contingency exists. The main purpose of the game is for entertainment, education, and competition between people. Besides, many genres of games are available today like action games, adventure games, reality games, battle games like PUBG or interactive fiction, MMO( massively multiplayer online), and simulation games.
Gaming community :
A gaming community is a group of people who come together to share their love for playing video games. It can include players from all around the world or just those in your local area, which is significant for both individual
and clans because players’ incentives for gaming vary. This community can be a toxic environment, cyberbullying or harassment. In the process of playing the game, there may be can cause some unnecessary conflicts, that can cause fights, and quarrels in real life.
What is social gaming?
Social gaming is a soft of online gaming experience that emphasizes social engagement and player participation, player in social games can communicate with one another, create alliances and compete against one another, frequently through the use of social media platforms or gaming networks. Form of social gaming includes massaging, chat rooms, forums, and shared leaderboards. For example Minecraft, candy crush, among us, and animal crossing, new horizons.
Minecraft
Candy Crush
Among Us
What is live streaming?
When someone watches a video on the Internet, streaming is the technique of data transmission that is utilized. It is a method for delivering a video file in pieces, frequently from a distant storage site. Client devices do not need to download the complete video before playing it because only a few seconds of the clip are sent over the internet at once. When a video stream is delivered over the Internet in real-time without being beforehand recorded and saved, this is known as live streaming. Live streaming is now possible for TV shows, video game streams, and social media videos.
These days some viewers love watching streamers not just for their content. They love it for the personality of the streamers themselves because 70% of streamers play a variety of games that are not exclusive to a genre. The most common platform used for streaming its YouTube Facebook, Instagram, and Twitch. Steaming also has its own advantages and disadvantages. The drawback of this is burnout and mental health issues.

I find it fascinating that with a ton of movies and TV media shifting to an overhyped group of garbage content, we as people online have chosen the Old Ways of sitting around someone Doing Something and watching it happen.
Sometimes it's something that already happened and we watch the process:
We sit for hours watching people clean carpets.
We sit for hours watching people power wash grass off the sidewalk or make it clean.
We sit for hours watching people bake cakes and decorate cookies.
We watch hours of sped up footage of little Jimmy building a card tower so it can knock down.
Sometimes it's in real time:
We watch streamers struggle through a game for 5 hours and root for them.
We watch streamers play minecraft rpgs making up stories as they go.
We watch sports games and root for our favourite teams.
We watch groups of people plag dnd in real time.
We watch someone create artwork through the whole process, start to finish.
To me this speaks of a community necessity. We are meant to come together and talk while people do stuff. We are meant to watch humans being humans but in a way that's not just ogling through a glass, but with a community of people who want to talk about and admire what they're seeing or what they saw.
A lot of Capitalism tells us we have to Be Unique, Be Separate, Be Individual, Be Alone. Reach that Pinacle of the pyramid top to be Successful. It's bullshit.
But I think most of us, just like our ancestors, want to sit around a fire and hear someone tell us a story or let us watch how they bend the marble to their will or how threads turn into a blanket with the right hands, or how they take something dirty and clean it or just watch little Jimmy build his 50000th marble race track and root for a coloured marble none of us has any control over.
And I think all those who want to do the creating, who want to tell the stories, who want to paint the pictures, who want to weave the rugs and clean the carpets and make the race tracks and paint the stars and sing their campaigns are the backbones of our society and I'm tired of people not valuing it.

Was watching a dumb movie, one of those ones where a bunch of randoms are kidnapped and held hostage and have to escape and get home by the end of the 2 hour 30 minute runtime, and I realized how Wilbur Soot would just ruin this plotline. Imagine you’ve been kidnapped with a bunch of strangers, including this tall British dude named William. You manage to escape and flee the shady abandoned warehouse you were held in, only for Will to stare intensely at the road for a few moments, glance at the trees, spin around in a circle and go “ok so we’re in one of these five possible countries”. wtf. Time passes, you’re on the run, for whatever reason you can’t go to the authorities but oh no you’re being pursued and there’s a field of those small planes ahead but you don’t know how to use them you’ll just get yourself killed and you glance to your side as Will just leisurely jogs past you towards the plane because oh don’t worry he has a pilot license. wtf. And now you’re in the air escaping and Will says it’s time to get you home and then names the block you live on because he’s good at accents it’s his “party trick”. And he drops you off in your neighbourhood in this stolen plane that’s miraculously got enough fuel for all this and he says he has to go because his band is releasing an EP in a couple weeks and he has to get everything sorted in time. When the police ask you to describe the man who helped you a few days later when you go in to report what happened, you don’t really know what to say. Sorry officer, he was a tall British guy named William, I don’t know anything else about him except he really likes bugs. You check Twitter as you leave to see “Wilbur Soot” trending, with the description “Minecraft streamer Wilbur Soot describes how he was kidnapped last week live on Twitch dot tv”. You open Twitch and his face is the top of the trending page with over 100 thousand people watching. His name isn’t even fucking William.
#wilbur soot#my posts#I don't know what this is either ok#also ik that is his name but the 'you' in this scenario is flabbergasted ok cut them some slack

I've noticed a lot of the really wildly over the top dead doves on AO3 are RPF, usually of youtubers. (I'm not judging, I know about this trend because I look for it deliberately and enjoy reading it.) I search AO3 by kink a lot, and end up reading a bunch for fandoms I'm unfamiliar with. But it's just kind of odd to me that so much of really extreme guro and necro stuff is of random video game streamers and not of horror movie characters or something that'd directly inspire that. When I've written this stuff myself, it's been of video game characters (who get repeatedly beat up and killed by the nature of the medium). Some of the boyband fandoms can get pretty extreme, too.
--
In my experience, RPF fandoms tend to have a lot of everything extreme because they're good sandboxes for quasi-original writing that may not fit as well with a tv show or whatever.
But also, isn't it all those Minecraft people? I don't play that or watch any of them, but I had the impression their actual games were the inspiration.
It's not like people are writing dead dove about historical costuming youtube even if Bernadette Banner looks like a vampire and everyone kind of wants Karolina Żebrowska to step on them.

"You're kinda cute, y'know?"
Pairing: cc!Sapnap x gn!Reader
Summary: Sapnap's finally done streaming, and all he wants to do is spend time with his baby :]
Warnings: cursing, fluff.
Word Count: 570
A/N: Wow I'm back! Again! Sorry, i'm back to doing online school again and it's really been kicking my ass recently :/ but I'm better now! I feel more motivated and ready to write more! Good morning/afternoon/night! I hope you enjoy reading! Stay hydrated! -Hunee <3
Staring back at the chat in front of him, Sapnap rubbed his eyes. It was going fast like always, due to him being a popular streamer and all. The male raised his arms above his head, stretching them out.
His gaze moved over to the digital clock on one of his monitors. 3:26am. 'Ah fuck.' Closing his eyes, Sapnap let out a groan. He had promised (Y/N) that he would finish up before 2:30, yet managed to go on for an hour more.
Unmuting his mic, Sapnap quickly moved his character in Minecraft into third person, crouching and punching the air.
"Alright guys, I think I'm gonna stop here. It's really late and I feel like I'm gonna pass out soon." The chat quickly filled with 'Okay!', 'Get lots of rest!', 'We love you!', 'Sleep well Sapitus Napitus!' along with a stream of heart emotes.
"Bye chat, see you all soon." His mouse hovered over the 'end stream' button and he quickly clicked it. His twitch setup closed, and Sapnap moved to shut down his computer for the night.
It was time to go to (Y/N).
After his bright monitor turned black from being shut down, Sapnap quickly moved off his chair, going out of his streaming room and into his shared bedroom with his partner.
Quietly closing the door behind him, the young streamer turned around. He softly smiled at the sight in front of him.
There they were. Sleeping on top of the bedsheets, wearing his sweatshirt that they stole earlier because they 'liked how it smelt'. Their phone lay loosely in their hand, indicating that they must have fallen asleep waiting for him to finish his stream.
'What a cutie.'
Sapnap quietly moved towards the bed, softly sitting on it, trying not to disturb his partner.
"Sap? Is that you?'
Mission failed.
(Y/N) stirred, sweater paws coming up to rub the sleep from their eyes. Blinking their eyes open to fully adjust to the low light of the room, they moved to look over at Sapnap, who was laying next to them.
"Yeah. It's me. Sorry for breaking my promise. I went a bit later than I planned on streaming."
His hand moved over to brush a few stray hairs that fell in front of their face. His partner curled into him, burying their head in his chest.
"That's okay."
(Y/N) suddenly sat up, bringing Sapnap with them. They leaned forward, face close with his.
"But now that you're here, we can finally watch that movie we planned on watching earlier!"
Sapnap smiled as he watched his partner frantically move to turn on the TV to put on the movie. They were excitedly rambling about the people in the movie, happy to finally watch it.
After putting on the movie, (Y/N) moved back towards their boyfriend, wrapping their arms around him as they moved their head to watch the movie.
Sapnap quickly reciprocated the action, moving one hand to the back of (Y/N)'s head, softy pushing their head against him, moving them more close to him.
He observed his partner's face, watching as their eyes had stars in them as they continued to watch the movie.
He chuckled, making (Y/N) look up at him.
"What's so funny, Sappy Nap?"
Sapnap moved one of his hands up to Y/N's face, booping their nose lightly.
"You're kinda cute, y'know?"
