Wasteland creek wip

I’ve always been a sucker for wasteland and apocalyptic aesthetics, maybe it just comes with being Australian /j anyway wanted to share this wip, I haven’t been drawing much so,,

Tweek has mud smudged as war paint plus his goggles keep sand and dirt out of his eyes andddd act as sunglasses because the guy is probably crazily light sensitive (me too) he also has a armoured heavy vest on because it hugs his body tight while keeping his arms free, like wearing a weighted blanket, he also has metal spikes on his gloves so if he finds himself unarmed he can just,, beat people

Craig has a toothpick it’s not a smoke btw, not much on his outfit but he’s wearing a sleeveless vest coat thing,, his helmet though I love, it’s just a army helmet but he has painted it and yes there’s a little stripe painted on it, I may add more tears and stitches into clothing, ehhh I’ll work it out,

Not sure if I’ll draw any of the other boys in a wasteland au but if enough people like this post I may, and I say boys because.. I cannot draw girls 😔

Plus 2 out of the 15 sketch phase wips… I sketch for a whileeeeee before moving on (sometimes I don’t even get as far as a solid sketch)

Post Apocalyptic/Wasteland AU

I saw the picture of Ogata on Twitter from a Korean artist of him in a post apocalyptic AU. My brain when brrrrrr and here’s the resulting commission.

The Backstory

In this AU, me and Ogata meet in the wasteland.

He’s still a sniper and I’m still a medic. I was looting an abandoned building for medical supplies, unbeknownst to me, Ogata was there too. Ogata proceeds to neutralize me but I try to fight back. Though, clearly I wouldn’t stand a chance to him. Determining i wasn’t a threat, he releases me. However, I kept encountering Ogata as I explored more of the wasteland. Ogata was purposely trailing me, playing cat and mouse as he would surprise me by showing up and fighting me almost playfully. So here’s the picture that came from that. Clearly we’re enjoying the situation we’re in, though Ogata was a bit rough this time around. At some point though, while Ogata was trailing me, he saw me get ambushed. He saved me. From that point onward, he stayed with me constantly. I became his spotter and medic. We became partners in the wasteland, well more than that really.

Ingo's reference is coming soon enough but here are some information about these designs// -Shiny Joltiks can survive radioactivity, as their 'shiny' forms are well adapted to the atmosphere more then the regular Joltiks. -Emmet usually fixes Ingo's prosthetics whenever they break down all of a sudden -Emmet is around 6'4 with his prosthetics, while Ingo is 6'5. -He knows his way around, and he also has a hand-made bow with gears and metal pipes he finds around the waste land of Nimbasa City. -Both Ingo and Emmet still tries to protect the gear station and keep on hoping the train will work and they can escape safely. -The pink/Yellow liquid is magma (which to the human touch, it is fine to touch, just not for long.)

does anyone here remember epic mickey??? well i do!!! and i recently dove back into the world of wasteland and i got pretty inspired…..

here are my original sketches!! I wanted to explore the idea of ‘what if the eddsworld boys were in wasteland too’ soooooo I did. I touched on different aspects of the game like toons,blots,and animatronics. I have a whole story for them in my head the more I research and dive into the lore…. I thought ‘yknow, what if the EW boys were forgotten over time due to no new content and their toon hearts faded and then were transported to wasteland’ but ofc, theyre not disney so lets pretend that this is for all toons lol .

Then I got working…

Here are my digital concepts! I made them pretty diverse for the universe… All of them are essentially toons but two of em got turned into animatronics as you can tell (thanks Mad Doc). For the designs of the boys I wanted to use a mixture of new and old, matt and tom are old designs while edd and tord are more recent….. it kinda makes sense just think abt it. However when Tord first appeared in WL he had his trench coat….. that changed as you can read from my notes…. (I’m so sorry if you cant read them)

I wanted to explore this world and topic more! So i then designed what their house would look like!

This is their abandoned house somewhere in Ostown. Ya’ll remember when they had a blue house??? But anyways theres plenty of easter eggs in there….. I tried my best to make it look as toontown as possible but still keep that creepy feel !

This AU idea I got has been so much fun to work on ….. I hope I can work on more places/story driven pieces soon!! Like Edd’s Sketch Shop in Mean Street or where Matt dwells in the Gluch. Argh so many ideas!! I would make this post too long with my own wasteland boys ‘lore’ sooooo……. Feel free to ask questions in my inbox if you want!!! I’m always open to share :D

Wasteland High School AU where The Listening Lady (The Listening Girl(??)) is a cheerleader and prom queen and Johnny, her bf, is a juvenile delinquent who has an after school job (that they hate) at an Italian restaurant.

These are goofy but I think they still have charm. I love the little milkshake-drinking gesture I’ve given TLL & her big fat braids in the second pic!

Eh, let us be real; Terry Silver undoubtedly causes this figurative zombie apocalypse you speak of once his ventures with Dynatox go too far, resulting in an environmental disaster of near nuclear degrees, but he still manages to profit off of the situation by either not being affected at all and bringing in an unimaginable sort of monetary revenue nonetheless, as is usually the case with Billionaires, or becoming a goddamn near Mad Max type of wasteland Warlord with his pretty (collared?) beloved paramour by his side, or whatever the heck is going on here;

Yeah, I wanted to give Breezie a way less mad max/cleaner look than the others due to the fact that she would even in a post-apocalyptic world still have all the luxuries she deserves. The hair change was just a little something to make her different from her base design.

Delving into me and Ogata’s Wasteland AU Lore

Each GK groups are factions similar to mad max. They are fighting for resources as well as searching for tattooed prisoners. The tattoos lead to some type of sanctuary with abundant resources and fertile land. The prisoners though have either got infected and became really powerful/unique zombies (similar to resident evil) or are part of factions (eg. ushiyama, Shiraishi, ienaga, hijikata) but have unique characteristics (like dead rising). Though there was an outbreak, it has been mostly controlled the world has not been restored to its previous state due to the pathogen also affecting the land and crops. Making resources scarce.

Ogata is mainly part Hijikata’s faction, though not completely. As he has no loyalty for any particular faction, unless I’m considered a faction. So we both tend to jump around a bit. Mainly doing our own thing, exploring the wasteland and gathering our own resources and valuables to sell. Occasionally encountering small factions that we may have to deal with.

Scattered amongst the vast wasteland are havens. Which are cities that have not completely disintegrated from the outbreak and have been restored for habitation. Me and Ogata have made our home in one of these havens, where Hijikata’s faction also is located. We do occasionally work with them to explore uncharted areas. Ogata mainly as a sniper. Then me as his spotter and also the medic of the faction along with Ienaga. Due to the nature of the wasteland I also carry my own fire arms and rifle. Especially when me and Ogata are traversing the wasteland on his bike and we get tailed. I would need to get them off our backs while he drove.

Me and Ogata have random encounters throughout the wasteland that I need to write about more. Like maybe me getting kidnapped and him obliterating a whole faction to save me.

This part may change but as for the prisoners I was thinking henmi is a zombie covered in sharps. Boutarou is a zombie that you encounter him near the ocean as he stays mainly underwater. Kei is an agile zombie. Toni is a zombie you encounter only at night and echolocates like a clicker.
