Laurance is an unreasonably powerful Shadow Knight. Gene says so himself, claiming he would kill Laurance but he is so powerful it would be a shame to waste that potential. Additionally, it seems the only reason Laurance is the one in charge of the Nether Rebellion is because he bested Zenix in a fight. Which is Absurd because not only has Zenix been a shadow knight MUCH longer than Laurance (all the years prior + 15 year gap), he's been a shadow knight for a larger portion of his life (implied to have been transformed as a child), AND Zenix has absorbed Several other shadow knights to increase his power, AND Laurance, once again, hasn't even completed his full transformation!!!

it’s kind of crazy that both fallout new Vegas and fallout 4 have the same driving force for the first half of the narrative (find the guy who wronged you and make him pay) but Benny is so much more memorable and narratively interesting than Kellogg.
It’s a matter of a strong character foil versus a weak one, in my opinion.
Benny and the courier are very much alike. They are both ambitious people who are willing to do anything possible to stack the odds in their favour. Honestly, Benny and the courier are the same card, reversed.
The Sole Survivor and Kellogg are also intended to be character foils. The game tries to convince us of this with the scenes in Kellogg’s mind, where we see that he ‘isn’t so different’ from our protagonist after all. But we don’t know anything about Kellogg other than his backstory. How can he parallel the protagonist if we don’t know which traits he has? Which traits the two of them share?
(As a side note, I wish Fallout 4 had touched way more on the ‘Man/Woman Out of Time’ thing. The protagonist being frozen in the past + Kellogg being functionally immortal would’ve been really cool to explore! Especially in the context of grief!)
In the end, I think the reason Benny is a more powerful character foil is that he doesn’t disappear from the world when you kill him. The chairmen can mourn him, House will comment on it, and even NPCs across the Mojave will talk about Benny’s death!
In Kellogg’s case, the protagonist is basically the only person who knows he even existed! Once he’s dead HE’s DEAD! He disappears completely from the narrative! As soon as you leave fort Hagen, the game doesn’t bother looking back.
that’s why Benny is a more haunting force for new Vegas; particularly an independent courier. You are Benny’s legacy because you are what he leaves behind whether he likes it or not. People remember him as the couriers victim. Meanwhile, nobody remembers Kellogg at all. The memory of who Kellogg was dies with you, and you can choose to forget him.

girl wake up im writing a no one knows au sequel
“Danny, one of these days you have to tell us what’s up,” Sam said. “You can’t stretch yourself thin like this forever. Whatever your secret life has you doing.” “I don’t have a secret life.” Which is exactly what someone who had a secret life would say, but Danny obviously evaded this with the loophole that was being dead. His secret half-life was also none of their business.

The Light Fury’s design obviously has a lot of flaws, but there is one issue in particular that I haven’t seen enough people talk about and it’s something that really bothers me about the Light Fury. The fact that the writers never thought about the species as a whole. Light Furies were never meant to be a new species that were exciting to learn more about. The writers only focused on one specific individual and making her “feel like a female”. Her entire species lacks any real world building. They never considered how these dragons would fit into the world of HTTYD. There’s no in-universe explanation for why they’re smooth and have fins instead of spikes, we don’t know what their life style is like or how they’re different than Night Furies (besides their appearance). There’s almost no real information on them, not in the art book, not in the movie, not in an interview. The only thing you’ll find is how the Light Fury had to be a pretty and feminine love interest. No wonder the Light Fury, and by extension her entire species, are so bland and uninteresting.

My Thoughts on the possibilities for Splatoon 4
Alright, with the Grand Festival currently going on, I thought I'd chip in with my thoughts on what the next entry in the franchise. So prepare for a decently long yap session.
So, first of all, we have that point made in the Nintendo Direct about 3 being "the finale of this Splat-tastic Saga". What I believe is meant by this is that 3 is the last game with the Squids Vs Octopus conflict as the throughline for the story. Splatoon 4 is going to shift it's focus on a different part of the lore/world and have a very different main conflict in its story mode.
A lot of people were saying its the end of Splatoon as a whole, but I find that unlikely given how successful the franchise is. I also see folks saying that the next game won't have any of the old characters, which I also think is unlikely. I feel like we'll definitely still see the Idols again, they will just be more in the background (ie. You won't have Callie and Marie as your Mission Control in Hero mode...But you might get the new idols doing that.). They could drop the New Squidbeak Splatoon (ie. the Agents), but I think they'll be refenced somewhere.
They're not gonna get rid of all the old characters. We'll probably still have Sheldon running the next hub area's Ammo Knights, for example.
I do hope they do more with Deep Cut at some point, and it would be nice to see Agent 4 again, since all of these characters were underutilised in 3 in my (and many others) opinion.
Second point, the Splatfest itself: Past v Present V Future. Since Splatoon's "present day" occurs in real time, I don't think we're gonna have a huge time skip backwards or forwards in Splatoon 4. I think like with 3, the winning team is going to determine the setting and "vibes" of the next game.
If past wins, the hub area will be a historic, traditional town, maybe it'll be set in Calamari County, from the Squid Sister's backstory? We could them see what Craig Cuttlefish gets up to in his retirement (and if he's still stuck in Squid Mode).
If present wins, I think Splatoon 4 might be set in Inkopolis or Splatsville again, but maybe for the latter things have improved a bit thanks to Deep Cut's adventures? (the story mode could play into this and give them some much needed focus).
Another possibly for present could see one of the Octarian domes as the setting if present wins, and the story is about helping the people out and making the place liveable again. This could form a very nice conclusion to DJ Octavio's character, if they want to fully commit to him being redeemed and improving things for his people.
If future wins, we might arrive in a high tech, maybe very wealthy city. This location would very likely be completely new, maybe even in a completely different part of the world. So who knows what'll happen here.
Third point: Plot foreshadowing that is in the games.
Okay, so we know that Lil Judd is likely going to be a Big Bad at some point, highly likely the next game. It's heavily implied that he's the new owner of GrizzCo Industries, taking over in Mr.Grizz's absence. I wonder how he could use the company...They did say they'd "find good use" for the 1.5 Billion Golden Eggs we stole collected during the Grand Festival Big Run.
Which you'd think is disconnected from his plans to overthrow Judd, but I'm sure Nintendo can cook up something. Even if it makes no friggin' sense for the character (side eyeing RoTM), it's at least be cool.
The Octarians seem to have made peace, Kamabo Co. dissolved with Tartar's destruction, and Mr.Grizz the Capitalist Space Bear is...Probably chilling on the moon now (although there is potential for GrizzCo to get involved, see above.). Overlorder and the Jelletons are contained to a VR game, and the former seems to be slowly rehabbed by Agent 8 kicking their ass over and over again.
The Salmonids on the other hand...
We also know that the Salmonids have been given much more importance in Splatoon 3, with Big Run and all that jazz. Our beloved Gremlin Fish are also the only big "villain" faction that still exists as of Splatoon 3. (Well, until Nintendo makes another new one.) They have, like, organisation, and ramping up their war efforts and have Full On Goddang Kaiju in their ranks. Plus the numbers done on them in the Big Runs.
Just saying, I'd be pissed too if my population was decimated because some Boneless Teenagers care more about seeing some celebrities sing songs in a desert than respecting another race of people that are different from them.
Something very Fishy will likely be going down in Splatoon 4.
Of course, at this point I also think there's a very good chance that the next Splatoon game will be a spin-off. Pretty much anything goes. A lot of people want a game about the Great Turf War. Maybe Squid Beats will become its own dedicated game (very likely a phone game.). Pretty much anything could go here.
Anyways, I might not play the game that much (and even then exclusively Salmon Run), but I'm invested enough in the world and characters to be excited about what happens next.
What do you guys think?

I know there are many things contradicting this and it’s not canon at all so it’s more of an “imagine if” not a “what if” but
What/imagine if the way Solomon got his immortality wasn’t through his own cooking, but through thirteen? We know through s2 that putting even a drop of a humans candle can slow down a demons candle’s burning significantly, so why wouldn’t that work the other way round? If anything it’d make more sense.
So just think if a young thirteen accidentally spilt some of a demons candle into Solomon’s, resulting in his immortality. Perhaps because she saw him and since his soul is known to have been shiny previously, maybe she was curious about his candle? Then oops! The wax is mixed! This carelessness would give a reason for her and her older sister to get into an argument and not talk much anymore (which I’m fairly sure is canon/implied?? I swear they said this in the main story)
Also, what if it was Barbatos’ candle who was spilt into his? Or WWAIT WAIT what IF Solomon’s candle was spilt into Barbatos’, and given he’s a mortal that could’ve been a good part of his life gone now. This would endanger Solomon, giving him a reason to summon Barbatos and want to form a pact, to command him to give him it back or something
I know that doesn’t make sense, but it could (now this is getting to be a really big stretch I know) give Barbatos a reason to comply and make the pact if thirteen was the one to spill it. She could threaten to nub his candle if he didn’t pour it back into Solomon’s (maybe because she didn’t want to get into more trouble for interfering that she already would have?) and since she might have been young, she wouldn’t understand what the now-mixed wax would do to Solomon’s lifespan.
I know this doesn’t make sense I just don’t understand the lore regarding those three so I’m making something up in my mind and sharing it because what is this app for if not that

i know the dr2 survivors having zero chemistry couldve easily been fixed by like. If The Writers Had Taken The Time To Write The Chemistry instead of just last minute throwing in one or two lines literally at the very end. the combo of characters does have lots of potential for chemistry but also i think one thing that wouldve really helped is LETTING HIYOKO SURVIVE 😭😭😭😭😭😭 if dr2 had just had 6 survivors like dr1 their survivor dynamic during chapters 5 and 6 couldve been so much better 😭😭
hiyoko just slots with them perfectly. theyre missing the energy that she’s able to bring if that makes sense like dr1 has hina as its more upbeat survivor and v3 has himiko but dr2’s most upbeat survivor is. like. Akane. am i making sense here. and also hiyoko bonding with any of the dr2 survivors theyre the last people youd expect her to bond with and it can be representative of her character arc and i also wish theyd been able to play more with fuyuhiko’s arc spurring on hiyoko’s because they had that kinda going on too. idk i know we’ve had this conversation as a fandom already but i just get angrier every day that she didnt live. of course adding hiyoko in isnt a Fix All Solution to the issue of the survivors not having been given chemistry but it couldve elevated the dynamic a lot i think :( i wanted to see her fight with and bond with everyone
