#Maman is located at #Guggenheim #museum in #Bilbao, #Spain. It is a masterpiece sculpture by the artist Louise Bourgeois, sculpted in 1999. It is almost 9 meters tall and is considered to be one if the most ambitious of a series by Bourgeois. This is supposed to be a tribute to the artist’s mother as she was a weaver. While the first establishment dates back to 1000 BC, Dalyan region, now a #UNESCO World Heritage Site, has been home to many civilizations up until 1500 AD. • Kaunos was an important and thriving sea port in the southwestern Anatolia. Near Dalyan, Mugla, Turkey. Kaleköy lies in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, namely Üçağız, 15km drive from Demre, Antalya. • This Lycian necropolis of Simena has been home to many civilizations including Byzantine Empire era outpost of the Knights of Rhodes (formerly St. John). • Although the ruined city was rebuilt by the Byzantine Empire, later on it was abandoned due to incursions of the Arabs. • The name Kekova derives from Turkish “Plain of thyme” is encompassed by the Island of Kekova, villages of Üçağız, Kaleköy and four ancient towns of Simena, Aperlae, Dolchiste and Teimioussa.
