while I wait for people to send shit to me pinned post I will post sum queer + MAD + song SCP headcanons down below :3 (More to be added ^.^ request any SCPs if u want bc my memory shittyyyyy)
SCP-1471: Bisexual, wolfgender, nonbinary-agender-female (she/they/it/he). Would like Lapfox Trax- Specifically Truxton.
SCP-2521: Agender, loveful aromantic (he/it/thing), possibly neurodivergent. Would like Nightcore.
SCP-999: Xenogender-fluid (I see it as someone who really can't pin point to a specific gender that's "usual" to society due to not really understanding gender "correctly"), mainly joygender, nebulasexual (it/any/any neos), AuDHD (autism + ADHD). Would listen to any breakcore/speedcore it sees, and would probably enjoy goreshit and Mailpup. I also see it as a 100 Gecs fan.
SCP-096: Abrosexual (Bisexual-Gay), transman, twink (not in a fetishizing way, I just think it fits him), aroace (sex & romance oscillate, basically they change fluidly) (he/she), PTSD & autism & social anxiety. Would dislike breakcore, never listens to music, but secretly a metalhead.
SCP-106: Gay (+ Insougay, a gay person who does not care who they get with), transman, hunk (not related to being queer but I also think he'd use his usual "hot" personality & appearance to lure people into his pocket dimension. Someone should make that an aroace label LOL) (he/him), PTSD & Questioning Cluster B disorder. Juggalo, big into Insane Clown Posse's old songs, even before he transitioned from juggalette to juggalo.
SCP-173: Nonbinary, mspec (unlabeled), femme (she/it/any). Listens to more casual and calm music, and enjoys songs related to romance in any way. Would probably listen to them with Dr. Clef.
SCP-049: Questioning sexuality, intersex (he/him). Also listens to calm music, would dislike breakcore or any fast/high bpm music in general.
SCP-049-j: Trans-ally (cisgender male, but questioning intersex), quoiromanic + quoisexual (he/they), Undiagnosed AuDHD. The same can't be said about SCP-049's son. The bastard would blast youtube poop remixes as loud as he can. Fucking Bastard.
SCP-913: Ally (cishet male) (he/him), Binge Eating Disorder & somewhere on the autism spectrum. He LOVES Weird Al, he thinks the "Eat It" song really fits him.
SCP-2396: Girlboss lesbian, transfem, futch (fem leaning) (she/any), neurodivergent but undiagnosed. LOVES Nightcore. Maybe candycore, if that's even a music type. Anything that's fast really.
SCP-3114: Xenogender (doesn't understand genders very well), affection/romance-craving, asexual (doesn't understand why they need to have sex), questioning sexuality (they/it/bone/skeleton/skull), Body Dysmorphia & depression. Really into game OSTs, especially Undertale OSTs. Also would listen to musics used in memes. Very funny lil skeleton I must say!
SCP-973-2: Pansexual, but doesn't really have time for figuring out his identity (any pronouns), autistic (struggles speaking) & PTSD. Listens to whatever is playing on the radio of SCP-973-1, EXCEPT Ed Sheeran. He hates Ed Sheeran.
SCP-079: Love is not existent (byte/bytes/neos). Really likes soothing music, computer/AI generated songs and 8 bit songs.
SCP-056: Identityfluid (basically, their whole identity like gender, sexuality, pronouns, etc. is fluid) (she/any), NPD. She would enjoy jazz music.
SCP-066: Agender, ericgender, aroace (repulsed sexually) (Eric/Ericself), probably depressed. Loves Beethoven. We don't like Beethoven. Eric doesn't care. Also likes Kevin Macleod. We love Kevin Macleod!

Bruh I just started playing earthbound and I get the feeling that Nintendo did crack, coke and Crystal meth while making this game up.
Like bruh I see people here complaining about child soliders in Naruto while fucking Ness and his goonies are solving gang crimes and the mayor restricted access to a location if they didn't vote for him and give a speech.
A freaking future butterfly comes here and tells Ness the freaking that he's the savior of the world from an omnipresence threat that is capable of mind control just by its mere presence (Giygas)
Like there's one guy who literally unleashes a knife at you then a tank, he's the first fucking boss.
I already love this game.
Don't get me on the dialogue it's straight up humor.
Tumblr media
I can see how Undertale is inspired by it.
Like the ost is too good. Just listen to this:
https://youtu.be/PUoN4lfF0hE?t=33s

HOLY SHIT I LOVE EARTHBOUNDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD I WATCHED A PLAYTHROUGH YEARS AGO AND IT LIVES IN MY HEAD RENT FREE,I'M HAPPY YOU GET TO EXPERIENCE TOO,YOU'RE GONNA LOVE IT!!

I get it that Omocat wanted to focus on the feelz over everything else. But games like Yume Nikki(a game that Omori was clearly trying to ape) don't have a big overarching narrative, and is a very simple freeware game that leaves much room for interpretation. Also helps that it's ost was made to be atmospheric, even if you hear a song for only a couple seconds. I can listen to an extended version of this track while working on something, despite it being a 22 second loop.
https://youtu.be/hlayu0pXLYU?si=srwyAuKuP3cKBs3-
And in terms of games where you beat the final boss by unconventional means, the Earthbound/Mother series(another game/s Omocat was obviously trying to emulate) does so in a way that ties in perfectly with the story and characters in all three games, making the emotional pay-off from them earned.
Omori really wanted to be those games, but missed the mark on why they eventually became cult classics, while a game like Undertale was able to perfectly capture the spirit of them.
I could compare OMORI to Silent Hill 2, which I don't know much in detail (@woodchipp is the one who made this comparison - I keep tagging him because he's the expert here :P) but I know that its big twist is that the protagonist actually killed his wife because she fell sick. Apparently many fans picked for James the ending where he kills himself because they did not have any sympathy for him. I know that the game itself did not paint him as a poow bapyboy, just presented you with the events and his understandable guilt.
I could compare it to Hereditary, which also has a brother accidentally causing his sister's death and (before steering into the paranormal side of the plot) was about how that death wrecked the entire family and destroyed the relationship between son and mother who could only blame everyone around her.
I could compare it to Bojack Horseman, which explores the themes of forgiveness with cruel nuance - we viewers relate to Bojack and want him to finally find happiness because we get familiar with his circumstances, but when he fucks up, the people around him are allowed to cut contact with him, which makes eventual forgiveness (like from Todd) be even more precious. Incidentally, Xerox of a Xerox is all about Hollywoo discovering Bojack's role in Sarah Lynn's death (pushing her to go on a bender that led to her overdose and deliberately waiting to call an ambulance to create an alibi)... and he more than pays the consequences.
I could compare it to Steven Universe, and how it shows just how many people Rose hurt with her deception, even if well intentioned - Garnet falls apart, Amethyst tries to protect Steven from feeling responsible, Pearl moves on from her after their final bind has been cut.
I could compare it to Evangelion, which, as @spinningbuster98 said, also has a depressed teen as its protagonist, but he's pitiable because the story actually fleshes him out and doesn't shy away from the worst sympthoms of his depression, self-loathing and deep desire to be loved.
And if you mention unconventional final bosses, then there's also Undertale and its three final bosses: Asgore removing the choice of MERCY because he really wants to be killed, the fight against Asriel where Frisk is so full of Determination to SAVE him that they straight up cannot die, and Sans cheating all over the place because you player are also a cruel cheater. Also hugging Asriel and him crying that he doesn't want to let go >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> a shallow slideshow of Sunny and Mari being oh so happy together.
This story has been done multiple times, and infinitely better, giving all the respect necessary to every character involved, not just the cute protagonist. OMORI has nothing to offer if not a decent aesthetic.

Meso's Mixtapes: Handplates Gaster
In honor of the Handplates comic by @zarla-s finally coming to an end, I decided to finally get back to work on my Mixtapes and do one for their interpretation of W.D. Gaster as a sort of thank you. But before I do, I want to talk for a moment about what this comic has meant to me. I was around 12 or so when I first got into Undertale. I was a pretty sheltered kid and wasn't really allowed to play video games, so I watched playthroughs and listened to the ost all from YouTube. And it was through this that I came across the dubbed version of the comic. I was instantly captivated by the acting and the editing, but the thing that pulled me in the most was the emotion behind the storytelling. Even when I was younger, I had no interest in any sort of AUs, but this one not only caught my attention, but held it in a vice. I binged the entirety of what was available of the comic on YouTube twice, and didn't tire of it one bit. But of course, as the years went by and my interest in Undertale faded, I stopped watching. It wasn't until a few months ago while scrolling through Tumblr that I found the comic again and that it was still being updated. So I picked up the comic right from the beginning and read it all. And to my surprise, it was just as incredible as when I read it all those years ago. To this day, Handplates has been the only AU out of really any media that I enjoy, and I'm not even the biggest fan of Undertale anymore. The fact that an AU has captured my attention longer than the base game itself really speaks to how well written this comic is. I would (and have) genuinely suggest it to people who aren't even into Undertale, specifically for how this comic is written. Unfortunately, I was unable to interact with the community due to no access to social media as well as rediscovering the comic so late, but I've fully enjoyed looking through the archives and reading all the asks, extra comics, and posts about it; it really made me feel like a part of the community after all. I don't know what Zarla has planned for the future, but whether it be little one-off Handplates comics, other Undertale stories, or even a bigger project in something else entirely, I will be eagerly tuning in. This comic has meant a lot to me, and I couldn't be more thankful. Now, without further ado, the playlist.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Villain by Stella Jang (There are a few different ways you could interpret this song, but for the sake of this mixtape, I see it as the idea of "you can be doing something good, but doing something evil to achieve it still makes you the villain". As the song says, there are many shades of grey; "the person I love the most could be a dog to somebody else" and "the person you hate the most is somebody's beloved child" perfectly explain this. It's the basis of "the ends don't justify the means", which is the exact opposite of the ideology Gaster follows over the course of the comic. Although he does this for the better of monster society, he is still aware of the fact that what he is doing is deplorable; that's part of what makes him such an interesting character to examine.) Rule #27 - Drunk on Pride by Fish in a Birdcage Dying Day by Landlady Dentist! by Alan Menken (I had to include this after Zarla mentioned it in a post a while back, and I gotta say it really does fit in a hilarious way) Wernher Von Braun by Tom Lehrer (I debated on whether or not put this one on the list, but in my opinion the line "'Once the rockets are up, who cares where they come down? That's not my department!' says Wernher von Braun" does sound like something he would say; sort of that mentality of "Hey, I did my job. That's not my problem." he showed during scene where the worker was requesting that handrails be added to the CORE. Plus it's Tom Lehrer.) Priest by William Crighton My Friends by Steven Sondheim (The only reason I included this song was because my headcanon voice for Gaster is Len Cariou. Although I will say that my friend also suggested Sam Neill specifically because of the scenes in Jurassic Park where Alan meets Tim and Lex and when he explains how the raptors hunted to that kid at the dig site since they both seem like something he'd do and I stand by that assessment 1000%. Both of those are perfect to me.)
Dead Man's Party by Oingo Boingo Euthanasia by Will Wood Alles im Griff (auf dem sinkenden schiff) by Udo Jürgens ("Ich hab alles im griff auf dem sinkenden schiff" loosely translates to "I have everything under control on the sinking ship", and the song is basically about all of these bad things happening to the narrator, and the narrator just bottling it all up and saying "This is fine. I'm totally fine." If that doesn't describe Gaster, then I don't know what does.) Zombie by The Cranberries (Considering what the song is about, I felt like it would also stand as a good representation for the hardships and trauma war can leave . And yes, I know that's not the main theme of the comic, but to me at least, that theme was crucial for how some of the characters developed. Not just Gaster, but Toriel and Asgore too.) Everything You Ever by Joss Whedon Total Recall by pragmaticNihilist (Ok, so this one needs a bit of explaining more so than the others. This song is one of the themes for the character Secily Iopara from the game Snowbound Blood, which is technically a sort of prequel/spinoff from the webcomic Vast Error. At least in my opinion, Gaster and Secily share several defining traits: both are easily consumed by work to the point where it takes a toll on their social life as well as their mental health, they push away the people that care about them in order to make things easier for themselves, they both basically devoted their entire meaning to one person [Asgore and Ahlina respectively], and their life's work was their downfall. I just thought it was really interesting how two characters from completely different stories manage to share so much, and how one was able to succeed in fields where the other character failed. Things like this in media have always been something I've enjoyed, so I felt compelled to include it.) Venetian Blind Man by Will Wood Arsonist's Lullabye by Hozier Good Old Days by Weird Al (I'm sorry but I couldn't resist adding this one. It was way too funny to not. I am so, so sorry. This is the last "not really serious one" I swear.) I'm Not Supposed to Care by Gordon Lightfoot (First off, the opening line is already perfect, but I can definitely see this song as the sort of the encompassing theme for the final pages of the comic when they're on the surface. The people who were Gaster's family have no idea who he is or how much they mean to him, yet he's still more than willing to devote himself to them and their happiness, which we see mainly with him and Asgore. My interpretation of Gaster's interactions with them are perfectly summed up by this song: He feels like he shouldn't care as much as he does because they're no longer who he knew, but he can't help it. They no longer love him, but he still loves them and will do whatever he can to make sure they're happy, even at his own expense [both before falling into the CORE and after]. Gaster sums up the basis of his own mentality perfectly: "As long as you will have me, I will stay.")
Oh, hello, my name is Max, or better known as MaxO'Bunn, I wanted to ask you how I can make songs like Toby Fox, I really feel very worried and sad for not being able to make songs like him, I started composing 7 months ago, My biggest dream is to be one day like Toby, he is my biggest idol, and that's why I wanted to ask you if you could give me some advice or tip that would help you to make songs like Toby, I would be very grateful... sorry for the inconvenience
If you ever figure it out, let me know.
I'm kidding.
Now, I'd really like to kind of set the stage here by saying I'm probably not the most qualified person in the world to answer your question. Like, I'm probably not even in the top 100, or even the top 1,000. BUT, I do care about this subject a great deal, having spent roughly the last seven years asking the same question you've just asked me: "How do I make music like Toby?"
Alright, so you wanna make music like Toby Fox. If you can read sheet music/have a basic understanding of music theory, you can never go wrong with this post. It's super informative and breaks everything down in a really digestible way.
If you wanna go one step farther, you can even use the same soundfonts that Toby Fox used to compose the OST of Undertale--it's all in this convenient google doc. The people that put this together have no doubt worked tirelessly to try to track down EVERY soundfont used in Undertale, even all the unused tracks. It's pretty damn impressive.
Toby also has some good advice about composing that he posted on his twitter that's worth a look.
But you probably wanna familiarize yourself with the OSTs that inspired the dog himself. He made a post a while back about that exact subject here.
To create music like someone you wanna sound like, it helps to listen to that person's music A LOT. Here's every single Toby Fox song ever (at least up until a year ago). I've listened to this more than I care to admit, and there's some GREAT tracks in there that most people overlook.
Okay, now that I've gone through all that, I would really like to address one thing you said in your ask. You said you're sad that you can't make music like Toby. While it's admirable to want to draw inspiration from the artists we like, I just want you to know that your music doesn't have to be exactly like Toby Fox's to be great. You said that you started composing seven months ago, and buddy, let me tell you that you should not be ashamed if your music doesn't sound the way you want it to at seven months in. Hell, I've been a composer for seven YEARS and I'm still unhappy with the way my tracks turn out ALL THE TIME. And that's okay. Your music doesn't have to be Toby Fox level to be worth doing. Just work on creating your own voice.
If you have any more questions about composing, I'd like to let you know that my IMs are always open. I hope this was all at least somewhat helpful. Thanks for the ask!
🎶?
for VT/taleblr in general i think a lot of lemon demon's discography fits it well, especially the ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny. and the next dimension. both of these songs are kind of homestuck-y too now that i think about it
sibling rivalry by pup is a really good acachalla family song, as well as kids by the same artist.
similarly i think touch tone telephone and ancient aliens are good P.I.E. songs.
i actually have full playlists for some characters- some on my youtube page, and some are kind of just in my head. if i had to narrow down the songs for each character it would be like this
toast - evacuate the dancefloor by cascada, i am not a robot by marina and the diamonds, kaleidoskull by lemon demon, ravers in the UK, take it off by ke$ha, are you satisfied by marina and the diamonds, so its like half sad amv music and half music i think he would actually listen to. people forget hes not just some prim and proper brit, hes also a hard drinking party boy.
ghost- problems by mother mother, bloodeater by mom/girls rituals/cats millionaire/devi mccallion, flight of the crows by jhariah, oh oh oh sexy vampire by disko warp, jerma meatgrinder remix??(if this also includes jimmy casket songs) haunted by laura les, and uh fuck it bad blood by creature feature. and ofc secret by the pierces.
maddiefriend - crazy town by marz mitzi, doktorspiele, best friend by toy-box, prescription by msi, bill watterson by lemon demon, weird science by oingo boingo, serial contraption of malice by ghostie-p, and magical doctor by maretu.
sally - the end by lil uzi vert and babymetal, gimme chocolate by babymetal, mommy's little monsters by creature feature, dead bodies everywhere by korn, IT GIRL by aliyah's interlude, ready to die by andrew w.k., chu chu lovely muni muni mura mura, little girls by oingo boingo, barbie girl, when i grow up by the pussycat dolls, etc.
sue - woof woof by arthur, i cant handle change by roar, 1989 by msi, entomologists (original version) by ghost/ghostie-p/marz mitzi (i forget how they went by at the time of releasing that song), good news by the garden, my alcoholic friends by the dresden dolls, bloody mary-kate and ashley by pup, and ummm no specific song but i think she would listen to korn
billy - fin fin come and see him, butterfly by smile.dk, girl you need a shot of b12, september dark planet by arthur, walking by steampianist, still feel by half alive, gangnam style nightcore by psy, lego racers ost main menu and also the building mode music, boyfriend by big time rush, tbh i just get a lot of eurodance and boyband vibes from him. there are SOME songs that make me think of him in like an amv way but not many
sadly i must admit gertrude and papa i dont imagine amvs of them often. to any songs. except maybe aim for the head by creature feature, i feel like thats a gertrude song. same w spooker chris and any other characters i didnt mention. i simply do not think of them that much while im listening to music. sad!
spencer (main course - i have an entire playlist for him but i'll try to trim it down in this post) - karkat's theme from the homestuck ost, black hole by steampianist, eighth wonder by lemon demon, cabinet man by lemon demon, evil me by arthur, september by the living tombstone i think? the brony song. welcome to kitty city by cyriak, cat hacks by lemon demon, the machine by lemon demon, the blind prophet from the homestuck ost, the 'you are an idiot!' song from that one computer virus, the first watamote ending song, want you gone from portal 2, waiting for the world to end by mother mother, buried alive by creature feature, stupid stupid world by talking kitty cat, weekly shonen bye-bye by pinocchio-p, alphys from the undertale ost, ode to crayola by lemon demon, just monika from the ddlc ost, not safe from the off ost, christmas kids by roar, here we are from the undertale ost, awoken by h8 seed ft woodentoaster, hole-dwelling by kikuo, amygdala's ragdoll by ghost, faget by korn, evolution by korn, and oxidation and dream monsters by ghostie-p. boom. thats basically the meat of my spencer playlist.
i just remembered i also have a cywren caster playlist but im gonna limit myself to gmod roleplay characters cause im tired of typing and i dont think anyone cares anyways. if u do though check my youtube channel O.K. much love bye
giving camp camp characters a favorite song(s)
specifically camp campbell campers because i dont know enough about the other chaacters to really get a grasp of what their music tastes would be, and david and gwen are enigmas to me
preston: meant to be yours from heathers the musical. he appreciates everywhere at the end of time, too though, and the symbolism behind it. he's a big "what's the hidden meaning of this song" kinda guy. he definitely is the type for horribly romantic songs, i hear a symphony by cody fry and dramatic songs like that, and every single song from every single musical he's ever seen.
harrison: viva la vida by coldplay is his favorite song. it's probably his ringtone too. he likely listens to it on loop while doing homework. i like to think he likes the good part, 100 bad days, karma, and bud like you by ajr as well as high hopes by panic! at the disco, though. he probably really likes those songs but is the type to look into what other songs his favorite artists have made, so hes stuck listening to only those songs from ajr/panic! at the disco/coldplay.
nerris: tavern background audio music from youtube. you would think she was joking but she listens to it in their free time. just sitting there listening to wordless medevil tavern/festival music. they probably like critical hit by ghost mice too.
max: loved by fein. it's edgy but he'd blast it. he probably liked mccafferty before mccafferty turned out to be a shit human being. he likes the front bottoms and set it off too, but loved by fein takes the cake. he probably celebrated when mcr got back together, too.
nikki: doesn't often listen to music with words- it distracts her easily and she doesn't focus well with lyrics. so she usually listens to karaoke versions of songs.
neil: video game osts, minecraft, undertale, random obscure underground games, he has a playlist.
space kid: he likes whatever songs his mom likes. plain white ts, taylor swift, all of it. he hasn't branched out to many types of music other than what he's heard his whole childhood.
dolph: he's open to any types of music, but because he's literally nine years old (in my hc at least!!), he hasn't discovered many songs besides what comes on the radio in the car when he goes to school.
ered: similarly to max, she likes set it off and mcr, but she also likes rare americans (ryan & dave being her favorite) and lincoln (person who made saint bernard and smokey eyes)
nurf: i dont like him im going to add him in every one of these "giving camp camp characters X" lists just so i can make that clear. nurf hate club. eggs benefits ruined him for me im sorry
🎶 music and 💥💥💥 BANG!!
🎶 Do you listen to music while you write? What song have you been playing on loop lately?
Oh ABSOLUTELY I listen to music! I find it nearly impossible to write without it, tbh. I always look for instrumental or cinematic music when writing certain scenes. I sometimes even build ambiance tracks with sound effects and such if it calls for it. Fun fact: the Undertale soundtrack is irreversibly tied in with The Harvester's creation. Undertale came out the same month that TH was made, and a lot of characters, scenes, and chapters were made while listening to the OST.
Lately I've been listening to a LOT of Set It Off, almost exclusively. Set It Off is my 'Hema Spite Band' [or one of them] and pretty much 90% of the time will spawn some art of him for my warm-ups. I've been listening to Projector, Cordial, Lonely Dance, Why Worry, Criminal Minds, and Midnight Thoughts in particular on any given day.
---------------------------
💥 How do you feel about criticism?
So....... I have a mixed relationship with Criticism! And it completely hinges on a few things.
1: Did I ask for criticism? 2: What is the nature of the writing? Was it for-fun, or was I TRYING to make something with quality?
For The Harvester, the truth is... I don't like unsolicited critique because 1: I didn't ask for it, and 2: It's... just a roleplay. That's all it is. It's a silly story written between myself and my GF, first-draft, and we don't take it super seriously. It's for fun, and because we like the story and characters! So we don't ask for criticism because tbh, that's not where we want it.
But, for example, sometimes I post mini-stories and actually DO want critique on it. In those cases, I /ask/ for it. I want to seek improvement, and want to hear what I could do better.
I think my biggest problem with online criticism unfortunately, though, is that it often isn't offered in a constructive or healthy way. A criticism should offer both what the person thinks you did wrong, but also what they think you did /well./ That way they know what to build off of, and what to continue doing.
Also... writing criticism is particularly hard because it's much more subjective than, say, the anatomy on a drawing of a human. Every author is trying to achieve something different. One author may be trying to make social commentary, and they would want criticism on their writing to further meet their goal. One author may want to be as grammatically correct and concise as possible. One may want to make you uncomfortable. Another may want to make a steamy romance. Another author [me] may want to paint vivid animations into people's heads, and to take them on fantasy journeys with fun characters and at least vaguely-interesting plots that keep you guessing!
Each of these authors would need a different flavor of criticism. And they don't often overlap. For example, I rarely want criticism on my grammar, punctuation, or more technical things. I focus more on imagery, word choice, sensory stimulation, and making my writing as fun [but understandable] as possible! So it may be at a third-grade reading level, but is it fun??? If yes, then great! My writing structure may be a lil wonky, or a bit amateurish, but that's okay. I'm having fun, and Corrie [my GF] is having fun, and to us, that's all that matters. <3
So, criticism has its place... but it's complicated and subjective, and I don't like receiving it when it's not asked for.
Bestia's Wrath Chapter 14: Wrath All-Consuming
Navigation
Tag in chrono order
Previous
Next
Summary:
Scorpio leaks Odessen's location to Arcann in some sort of a fucked up social experiment. The Alliance is forced to fight back.
Major warning for graphic violence and major character death. Have to finally justify the warnings on the fic itself lol.
Beginning Notes:
So initially I planned Bestia’s Wrath to be three distinct volumes and this would have been the end of volume 1. However, later I’d realise that volumes 2 and 3 would have been much shorter and kinda awkward so I merged everything into one work.
Recommended listening: Murder (Berserk OST) by Susumu Hirasawa for most of the chapter, and Regicide (undertale) by Nathanael Platier for Senya's fight.
A larger than usual crowd was gathered in the War Room, grouped around the main holotable. All of the Dread Masters were present, even Styrak left the solitude of the lab, and Brontes chose to tear herself away from running tests on Gemini Prime. The droid suddenly went dormant during the latest mission, and Brontes was determined to learn why. Even the Scions were in attendance, the larger group making a point of standing as far away from Heskal, and by extension, Shyren as possible. Bestia noticed that Cael was absent. Probably for the best, considering that Senya was there too. She had somehow become aware of Cael's true identity, and while she promised to not reveal it, Cael made a point to avoid her. All eyes and ears were on Lana, who was reading out a combination of various reports from the Alliance scouts.
"Scorpio isn't as gone as we thought, and controls most of the Eternal Fleet." Lana stated. A wave of murmurs passed over the crowd.
Bestia scowled and crossed her arms. Rage was building up inside her, and she had to push it down. Of course Scorpio wasn't gone. That made perfect sense. But the news of her assuming control over the Fleet was troubling. What was her goal? Would it be worse than dealing with Arcann? Could she be convinced to either step aside, or use the fleet against Vitiate when the time came?
"Arcann still has control of a large armada." Theron pressed something on a datapad, projecting a hologram of Arcann's flagship surrounded by smaller Eternal Fleet ships. "No idea how he blocks the signal."
"The same way they blocked the Holonet signal in some parts of the Sith Academy so us acolytes couldn't have nice things?" Rammas quipped from her position on top of a light fixture nearby.
"Might have something to do with Gemini Prime's sudden nap." Koth shrugged.
"I'm running tests on her, but she remains unresponsive." Brontes said, bowing her head slightly. "If all fails I will attempt to disassemble her, to study the technology."
"You could disassemble Scorpio if we got our hands on her again." Bestia grumbled. "I don't know what her game is, but at least we can talk to her. That's an upgrade compared to Arcann, if you ask me."
"We can deal with her later-" Senya started, but was cut off by a high pitched screech from the holotable. The hologram glitched out, replaced by one of Scorpio sitting on the Eternal Throne.
"What the everloving fuck is this?!" Bestia immediately demanded, glaring up at the holo.
"I am sure that what I'm about to share with you will summon more crude vocalisations. Arcann approaches Odessen. He will destroy it like he did with Asylum."
Scorpio was right about the swearing. Bestia let out a string of curses, and punched the nearest wall. Dust rained from the cavern ceiling. Lana was torn between trying to calm down the ticked off Dread Master, and trying to manage the situation itself.
"I understand you're angry, but please don't bring the cave down on us."
"You're right. Apologies."
"How did Arcann find us?"
"I told him." Scorpio said smugly. "I wanted to see what he would do: go against you, or try to retake the Throne."
That prompted another string of progressively more creative curses from Bestia, directed mostly at Scorpio, although Arcann was present as a collateral. Once she was done, she took a few deep breaths.
"Guess I'll be punching his face instead of the wall then." Bestia growled. "What do we do in the meantime? Tyrans, you're up."
Tyrans stepped up to the table, other members of the Alliance parting and giving him wary looks. He ignored them, and pulled out a datapad.
"We'll need someone down here in case Arcann sends ground troops. And we will need a team to board his ship and neutralise him. Bestia is clearly going with the boarding party. Anyone else?"
"I want to go." Replied a quiet, raspy voice. Shyren stepped towards the table, hand raised. "The Scions need avenging. Blood calls out for blood."
"Anyone else?"
"Count me in." Said Sharack. "He ain't Vitiate but he's probably going to be fun to fight."
"I'm also coming." Said Senya. "They're my children."
"So that leaves several Dread Masters on the ground, defending the base. Good enough. Another thing, his ship could be powerful enough to bomb this place to slag."
"Like he did with Oricon." Brontes said grimly.
"Then we need to destroy it. What's the plan?"
"Sabotage its shields and weapons, so it's vulnerable against the Gravestone."
He brought up a few personnel files that were suitable for the jobs. One of them was Brontes. Another was a young Twi’lek woman named Vette who had joined the Alliance recently. Despite her young age, she had a record of infiltrating the Sith tombs of Korriban several times. Quite a feat, considering the tombs were full of traps and Korriban itself was at the very heart of the Sith Empire.
“I recommend these two.” Tyrans simply said. "One doesn't simply walk into Korriban, and Vette has done it multiple times. I trust Brontes doesn't need an introduction."
"I hoped we'd fight him on our terms, but…" Lana shrugged. "We're as ready as it gets. The Gravestone is ready to depart."
Everyone gathered into the ship, and the Gravestone took off, rising through Odessen’s atmosphere and into space. A grid of Eternal Fleet ships sat against the backdrop of a green nebula in the distance, surrounding a larger vessel, shaped like a hand.
Bestia seethed quietly the whole ride out into space. The rage has been building up inside her ever since she was thawed out of carbonite, but until recently, she was able to manage it. Now, it was getting harder and harder to push it down. Especially when the vengeance was so close at hand. Arcann had destroyed Oricon, scattered her family, and set her back five years in her quest against Vitiate, and he had the absolute gall to stand in her way. Bestia gnashed her teeth, a low growl escaping her.
"Are you like, okay?" Sharack asked awkwardly.
"Angry." Bestia managed to spit out.
Sharack gave Lana and Brontes a helpless look. A Jedi she might have been, but diplomacy wasn't exactly her strong suit. Lana side-eyed Bestia, and silently shrugged.
"It's completely understandable." Lana said, trying to pacify the seething Dread Master.
Bestia turned in her seat, facing the rest of the small team. Lana could swear there were small red specks in her normally blue eyes. Like embers. Bestia breathed in deeply before speaking.
"There is a chance I will go berserk. If that happens, stay the fuck away, and get Styrak, or Calphayus. They're the two people who can get me to snap out of it. Because if I go into a rage, I will attack and kill anything in my path. And I mean anything ."
Shyren nodded. Lana murmured her assent. Sharack lifted a finger.
"I could probably hold you back if need be. Would the rage stop if you got knocked out?"
Bestia regarded her doubtfully.
"I'd rather not find out. I already lost you once."
"You really do not want to be around Bestia during one of her rampages, dear." Brontes said. "Please trust me on that."
"Alright this is as close as I can get." Koth said. "Take a shuttle to the ship."
Bestia stood up from her seat, nodding at Koth.
"Someone should see to this blockade."
"I'll do it. Point and shoot, what could be easier?" Theron piped up.
"Enjoy the carnage, then."
A short but grueling shuttle flight later the group was face to face with a host of Skytroopers. Bestia dashed at them, cutting them down in moments. Lana could swear she saw odd shadows slough off Bestia's body. She could definitely sense something about to erupt.
"I think it's for the best if we stay back and let her clear a path. Vette, Lady Brontes, you know your tasks."
"I'll go deal with Vaylin. Keep her away from us." Senya squared her shoulders, searching through the Force for her daughter.
Sharack waved at Brontes as she and Vette disappeared into side corridors. Senya suddenly bolted off into one of them as well. Lana stared right ahead, where Bestia was throwing Skytroopers around. There was something uncoordinated about her movements, but there was so much ferocity in each strike, that it didn't really matter. At least, until a blaster bolt grazed Bestia's shoulder.
Something happened then. Bestia dropped her lightsabers, and let out a loud, completely inhuman roar. The shadows Lana thought she'd seen before enveloped Bestia completely. The pressure from the Dread Master's mere presence increased tenfold. Lana felt scared. Dark corners of the hallway suddenly filled with all manners of beasts. Lana looked inward, quickly bringing up her mental defenses. She could see Shyren do the same, although the Scion looked mostly unfazed, as did Sharack. The three turned their gazes towards Bestia, and were greeted with a huge pitch black beast with a flowing red mane and a maw of pointed golden teeth. Sharack stepped in front of the group, lightsaber at the ready, but the beast stalked towards the Zakuulan who fired the shot. The crewman raised his blaster rifle feebly at the monster. One swipe of a powerful arm sent a spray of blood into the air, and then the beast's form blocked the view. It did not block the sounds. Gargled screams, ripping and tearing, and the disgusting popping of breaking bones.
Lana stood with a hand to her mouth. Shyren's ears were flat against their head. Sharack simply stated at the grizzly scene, face unreadable. Bestia finished with the Zakuulan, and bounded down the corridor, away from the rest of the party. Screams rang out from behind the bend. Sharack was the least affected, at least outwardly. She pulled a holocom off her belt.
"Um. Brontes? Is it normal-" She was cut off.
"I sensed it. She's gone berserk. Stay away from her. Styrak is on the way." She muttered something illegible. "Vette is within the vents, but I will warn her to stay out of the hallways."
"Why didn't we get Styrak to come with us to begin with?!" Sharack exclaimed.
"Because Bestia only told us about her… severe anger problems when we were on the ship and off the planet?" Lana said.
"I'll follow her." Shyren crouched and crept down the corridor. They picked up the discarded lightsabers and clipped them onto their belt. "See where she's going."
As Senya stalked through the corridors, a weight pressed down on her through the Force. The presence eclipsed even her children. It could probably have eclipsed Valkorion, or whatever used his body at the time. Fear tied Senya's guts into knots. She suddenly felt small and hunted. Everything inside her screamed for shelter. She looked around the corridor, and contacted the rest of the group.
"What's going on?"
"Bestia has gone berserk. Whatever you do, stay off the main hallway."
Despite all the atrocities Arcann and Vaylin had committed, Senya found herself fearing for her son and daughter. Would they be able to stand up to such a monster? They both were immensely powerful in the Force, and Arcann had managed to wound Bestia in the past. She glanced behind her shoulder, but the hallway was empty. Now her task was two-fold: keep Vaylin away from the rest of the group, and keep her away from Bestia.
A red haze closed around Bestia's mind. Her maw was full of blood. Nothing mattered. Just killing and tearing. And the ship had enough human personnel for Bestia to rip limb from limb. But the true goal of her hunt wasn't them. They were just an appetizer for the beast. The main prey was Arcann. And eventually, she'd find him.
The beast tore the bridge doors out of their frame and threw them aside. Arcann sneered under his mask, and took up a defensive stance, a golden Force shield enveloping him. The beast towered over him, at least twice his height. Its arms ended in hands tipped with sharp claws, and its face was a warped golden mask. Quite literally. He'd seen this exact mask before, on the Sith he had captured over five years ago. Both the hands and the pointed golden teeth were stained with blood. The beast charged at him, wreathed in shadows, and for a moment, Arcann wondered if he'd been wrong to dismiss and outlaw the Old Ways of Zakuul the way he did. First the beast Scion on Asylum, now this. Maybe, just maybe, the Old Gods were more real than he believed, and he was going to pay the price for slaughtering their followers.
The beast charged at him and struck at the Force shield with two huge fists. It held, but Arcann could see small cracks form on its surface. He hastily channeled more Force into it, patching the shield up. The beast paced the width of the room. Arcann wondered where his sister was. Her strength in the Force could be extremely useful right now. An unwanted image of her mangled body bleeding out somewhere in the hallways wormed its way into his mind. He gritted his teeth and pushed it down.
Bestia struck at the side of the Force shield, sending the entire bubble flying. Arcann tumbled inside, but forced himself to land on his feet. As Bestia charged at him once again, he launched golden lightning at her. The beast's charge slowed, but she stubbornly forged ahead, golden bolts mixing with the black shadows covering her. In the end, it wasn't enough to stop her. She reached Arcann, and set to pummel away at his shield until he could no longer keep up. It cracked, and crumbled, and his lightning did nothing to stop her. He struck out with his lightsaber, but a mighty strike of the shadowy paw knocked him down. A bloodied golden maw descended upon Arcann, and he screamed.
Bestia paid no mind to the shadow following her. Shyren peeked from behind the mangled door, but could only see the bulk of the beast's body, hunched over something on the floor. There was far too much blood around, and moments before Shyren emerged from the shadows, they heard a piercing scream of pure agony. The beast suddenly raised its head and turned, and Shyren hid behind the door and slunk back into the darkness before Bestia saw them. They, however, saw enough. Bestia had an entire arm in her maw, once clad in white, now soaked red. Even with the blessing of Nahut, this was far beyond what they could deal with.
As Shyren was backing away from the bridge entrance, they ran into Senya. She stared at them, their twisted face ashen beneath the dark fur, and the hem of their Scion robes soaked with blood. Shyren sighed, and motioned for her to follow.
Senya ran as fast as she could, following the beastly Scion. The hallways were littered with broken skytroopers and bodies laying in pools of blood, almost none completely intact. Even in her long life as a Knight of Zakuul, Senya had never seen carnage like this. Bile rose up in her throat, and she forced it down, focusing on sprinting after Shyren as they led her towards the bridge. In the end, she was too late. She felt the faint link between her and her remaining son fade out. She rounded a corner and bolted into the bridge, stopping in her tracks. A shadow towered over a crumpled torn up form on the floor, sharp golden teeth covered in bright red blood. She screamed, and threw the beastly Dread Master away from her son with the Force.
“WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!”
The scream pierced the red haze around Bestia’s mind, causing her to hesitate. The haze closed back in, and she roared, unleashing a wave of dread upon Senya. It did little to stop the Knight, fueled now by her own rage and grief.
“YOU KILLED HIM!”
Senya swung her spear at the monstrous shadow. Bestia jumped away. Suddenly, something was on her back and was clawing ferociously at her. Bestia let out an inhuman screech and twisted around, grabbing at whatever attacked her. She threw the Scion across the room. Still, they were enough of a Distraction. Bestia didn't see Senya charging at her. A flash of blue blinded her. She blacked out.
When Bestia came to, Shyren was dragging her along a hallway littered with debris and bodies. Smoke filled the air, and the floor beneath was shuddering. Her face hurt. She lifted a hand to it, and felt a deep gash crossing the bridge of her nose. It extended to both her cheeks.
"What happened?" She asked in a hoarse voice, getting up to run alongside the Scion. Her body ached, completely exhausted out of the sudden.
"You went berserk, turned into a giant shadow beast, and tore Arcann and all his Skytroopers and Knights apart. Senya fought you off. I helped."
Shit. Guilt overwhelmed Bestia. This wasn't supposed to happen. While her anger towards Arcann was strong and justified, she mostly just wanted to beat the shit out of him. To knock him down a few pegs. Maybe let Shyren deal with him as they saw fit. At least then, if Arcann died, the blood wouldn't be on her hands, and the Scions would be avenged.
"Where's she now?"
"Took what was left of Arcann and left."
They ran past a body torn in half, with its insides splayed woefully outside. Bestia nearly slipped in a pool of blood.
"I did this?" She already knew the answer. Shyren didn't even bother replying.
They ran past a viewport, and Bestia noticed that it wasn't the Gravestone firing at the flagship, it was its own chunk of the fleet. A beam of teal hit a group farthest away, the destruction hopping from vessel to vessel.
"Why is the fleet firing at their own?"
"Don't know."
They made it back to the hangar unscathed and with no incident. First thing Bestia focused on was the tall form of Styrak. What was he doing here? Oh, yeah, she did ask the others to get him… well, it was too late. Styrak took Bestia in his arms wordlessly, and looked at her. She felt concern bloom from his end of the Force bond.
"I'm fine. It will heal." She said quietly. "I killed everyone. I killed Arcann. Even though I told Senya I wouldn't."
"So he is gone, then?" Lana approached them while they walked towards the shuttle.
"The Scions won't miss him." Shyren rasped.
Bestia didn't reply, letting Styrak gently herd her inside the transport. On the one hand, yes, Arcann was no longer a problem. On the other hand, if this got out in some way, all her and the Dread Masters' careful work in earning the trust of the Alliance would be ruined. They'd go right back on top of both the Empire, and the Republic's most wanted lists. All because she lost control.
Brontes sat on Bestia's other side, keeping the others away from her. Sharack sat by her, looking uncertain. Brontes patted her hand reassuringly. The ride back to the Gravestone was silent.
Back at the ship, Lana took the brunt of questions from the rest of the crew, while Styrak and Brontes sat Bestia down in the back of the room. Bestia stared out of the porthole quietly, listening to the conversation. Sharack joined Lana at the front of the room. They all watched as the Gravestone fired a final shot from the omnicannon at the already faltering flagship. It exploded, taking the rest of its small fleet with it. Bestia saw two small ships dart away from the blast before everyone was blinded by it for a moment.
Bestia didn't take part in the celebration that followed. It didn't feel right. She mostly stayed with Styrak, her husband fretting around her wound, and the rest of the Dread Masters visiting her to make sure she was alright. She wasn't, not mentally at least. What do you do when your worst fear comes true? What do you do when the victory everyone around you is celebrating was nothing more than a senseless massacre perpetrated by a feral beast? What do you do when that beast is you, and you know it can rise up at any moment? The questions plagued Bestia. And the only answer she had, for now, was to keep moving. To keep working on her control, and hope she'd have enough sense to not go off on her allies next time.
At least there was no conceivable way for her rampage to come out. She was seen by only a small handful of people who wouldn't use it against her, or so she hoped. The ship's security camera recordings were gone. The only loose link was Senya, but somehow Bestia knew she had other things to worry about. If it really did come out, she'd deal with it somehow.
Following Arcann's defeat, new recruits poured into the Alliance. Now that it was proven that Zakuul wasn't infallible, many who doubted the budding rebellion, or were too afraid to join, now sided with it. Bestia stayed out of the spotlight, allowing Lana take the reins.
There was troubling news too. Vaylin has taken the Eternal Throne after her brother's death, and rumors of Bestia's rampage found their way onto the Holonet. There was no footage or other proof to back them up though. Tyrans, Lana, and Brontes did their best to stop the rumors from affecting the Alliance. Scorpio was still a potential threat, seemingly allied with the new Empress of Zakuul. And beyond that, Vitiate was still out there in the galaxy, lurking in the darkness and plotting his next move.
Ink! Sans
the Guardian of all Alternate Universes.
Tumblr media
Ink is a skeleton-looking monster wearing painter's clothes, being a little shorter than its fainted variants and considered the great protector of all AUs.
Ink has black paint/ink on his right cheek. His eyes are usually a blue circle in the right eye socket and a star in the left, However, whenever he blinks, the color and shape of his eye sockets change, He dons a long-sleeved, white undershirt with a small brown jacket over it. His pants are overalls with the tops tucked into his waist. The legs are very wide at the bottom, with creases around the legs. He also has no shoes, instead, he goes barefoot with a pair of leggings.
He has a work belt crossing his chest, with rainbow paint vials (which have heart-shaped tops) on it. When Ink drinks the vials, he gets artificial emotions. On his back, he possesses his most powerful tool, an giant Inkbrush that he named Broomie.
"Let me explain how things work around here!"
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
He is a Sans variant created by Comyet (aka Mye Bi). He was a conceptional Sans from a conceptual AU that never got off the ground. He’s the first and only character with a true soul; yet despite his best efforts to improve and interact with the inhabitants in the AU, they never responded or showed any kind of reaction to his attempts. In a fit of despair, he destroyed his soul; accidentally causing him to stumble into the blank void. There he became an emotionless being alone in the vast space of emptiness, Becoming like the inhabitants of his old universe, but now alone.
Eventually, an ink brush along with different kinds of paint from an unknown artist fell into the blank canvas, each color imbuing him with feelings different from the last. After some time without color, though, he would revert to his emotionless self. Ink fixed this problem by filling vials with the colors that were splashed on him. It allowed him to pretend to have a soul so that he could feel it. Gradually, Ink used the colors from the creators to create the Doodle-Sphere, where his home would now be.
Eventually, he stumbles upon a portal that leads to the source code where all of the paints and colors go. It doesn't take long for him to discover their true purpose; to imprint the Creators' Emotions in the forms of Undertale Fan work (AUs, Fan arts, etc.). Seeing this he concluded that, for him to remain in this fulfilling emotional state, He have to encourage the creators to keep making and maintaining their creations so that the paint keeps flowing through the doodle-sphere itself. Thus, to keep a steady supply of emotions for him to harness, he dedicates himself to being the Muse of the Undertale Creative Community, while he protects their creations from those who wish to harm them; be it vandals or any other off-scripted out!codes, An example of a threat would be Error! Sans, maybe his greatest enemy.
"I can fight for you too!”
Tumblr media
Ink supports all kinds of art, like painting, literature, dance, music, etc. He is very passionate about art and likes to motivate characters and creators, He is friendly and extremely witty and can hardly be put down, His memory is extremely random and he can remember things from millennia of years ago or simply forget some things that were said seconds ago, sometimes stopping mid-sentence to try and remember what he just said a few seconds before. This is why he takes notes on his scarf, in fight, he approaches enemies carefully. He will never try to attack them first, but will mostly focus on trying to discover their motives and talk them through it. Although he does come off as a jerk on first impression, he does know what to analyze to understand the issue so he can brush people the right way and hopefully have them listen. Ink in general acts wittily, optimistic and provocatively.
That is until the ink in his vials runs out..
If he ends up unwilling or wanting to let his bottles empty, he will be left without his emotions and just be someone empty, cold and cruel, without feeling any empathy and only doing what is for his own sake and objectives, And no, he doesn't mind hurting someone for that, fighting much more offensively or defensively, depending on the situation, they think he would even be a psychopath, but what do you expect from a person without emotions and souls?
"After all, there are thousands of alternative versions. Thousands of timelines in their own universes. Why even worry about a small fraction affected..?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ink is somewhat athletic and a martial fighter, being fast, agile, strong and skilled, as well as being extremely acrobatic and resistant, using his brush as a bat, using it to attack and thrust with the bottom of his inkbrush, which is made of sturdy wood along with his punches and kicks, His powers consist of all those of Sans but with a higher damage rate, so he can summon bones, blasters, telekinesis, blue and orange magic.. Along with his additional powers!
Ink Mimicry: Ink can manipulate the ink around him as he pleases! If you fight him, be prepared for a lot of ink in the arena!
Ink Hopping: Ink can appear everywhere in any AU of his liking from any kind of liquid. He uses them as Ink portals
Ink Bones & Others: Ink can solidify its ink to create things from it, creating bones or any other thing that, after using them, can reuse the ink from attacks for other attacks!
Ink Blasters: He can create Gaster Blasters that shoot a very hot ink that while burning the enemy, pushing him away, and can solidifies on contact.
Script reading: He can read the scripts of all of the Undertale AUs in existence, and thus knows the fate of all of its inhabitants, Of course, if the universe isn't an Undertale AU, he can't read
Ink can also use the ink on your body to transform his body into a human! He can have different colors and shapes!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And that's it! I hope you'll have fun if you want to interact with this silly boy!
Oh! And please read my RULES!
Audio
Due to the sheer length (plus wanting to preserve the format,) you can find the accompanying dialogue for this post on Google Drive.
Time’s End is an AHIT/Undertale crossover AU of sorts, taking place in the aftermath of a timeline where you lose the final boss fight against Mustache Girl. You can find the write-up here! In addition to the AO3 link being updated with lots of new material, you can also find the write-ups for the Neutral Endings and TimeWarp Route requirements over on Google Docs! The incredible art in the thumbnail was made by @asterofthedeepforest. Be sure to support his Ko-fi and/or commission him! I commissioned this music track from Nick. Be sure to check out his YouTube as well!
Motifs:
Adventure's End (Mario & Luigi Dream Team, sample of 0:00-0:10)
Death Wish
Collapsing Time Rift
Main Theme/Title Screen
Your Contract Has Expired
Original
SO! Definitely will be having more tracks for this AU coming down the line, updates included, but let's be real folks. This is DEFINITELY the track a lot of you were looking forward to the most (especially in my SC audience.) Well, thanks to Nick's incredible talents, it's now a reality at long last -- and at a really convenient time too! Not only is the OST account on SC close to breaching 50 followers -- thank you all for your support by the way! -- but A Hat In Time, one of the two games this AU is based around, will be 5 years old on October 5th!! So ye, consider the timing of this release an early treat for both occasions! ;) Anyhow, I'm incredibly pleased with how the track turned out. There was a somewhat different idea pitched initially (hence why the Adventure's End sample is there,) but Nick took the notes and ran with them in a MUCH better direction for the piece, while still being fitting for what I had in mind for the AU. It was really nice working with Nick, and I'll definitely be using his services again, should they be available. Anyhow, I hope you guys enjoy the track! (P.S. Just a quick note: I put together the motif list for this post using notes I sent Nick, so it might be slightly inaccurate on my part.)
You can also listen to this track in high quality on the AU’s SoundCloud here! Due to their length, the character blurbs are underneath the Read More.
Bow Kid is still Frisk... but that hardly matters anymore. The bright and cheerful, yet nervous Bow that first landed on the planet is gone. Her original desire of going home has long been forgotten, and only one goal drives this emotionless shell of her former self forward: finish what she started. Hat Kid takes Sans' place. With Bow's killing spree pushing everything to the brink, Hat Kid realizes that she just can’t stand back and watch time and space be torn asunder. As much as she doesn't want to do it deep down, she signs a new contract with Snatcher, selling her soul in exchange for WAY more power. Harriet is deadset on protecting what's left of this timeline and correcting the cataclysm Bow Kid caused, not wanting a repeat of her failure to with Mustache Girl before, and she doesn't care how much of herself she has to give up to accomplish this goal. Snatcher is in a (heavily expanded) Napstablook role. Given that you have killed off everyone that Snatcher could have possibly roped into working for him, and maybe a part of him that he won't acknowledge caring for Hat Kid, he offers his "contractually obligated BFF" direct assistance in addition to the power boost. As far as he's concerned now, Bow's contract expired a long time ago, and it's time to make her head pop off like all the other contractors before her.
aight so uhh lil spontaneous positive rant about OFF rpg bc it’s 1AM and I’m having feelings
.
.
.
bro OFF has that magic that makes me fall for it all over again even if I have,, rewatched it gazillion of times. I religiously rewatch it every year (hush it’s my comfort game), yet it never fails to amaze me and punch me in the gut. Reading theories and fan interpretations of the story and the characters is always fun to read, they’re all absolutely valid and mind-blowing every time.
And every time I take a lil check back in the fandom, I find there’s ppl who still make animations abt it, who makes song remixes with other vgm (undertale x off ost is such a king-to-king crossover), and I learn new stuff like Papyrus was inspired by Dedan’s design? Batter is apparently a beast in battles when in Auto and the Player is probs just holding him back bc he lets you control him? the Bad Batter was confirmed ace?? Batterie is possible in “an alternate universe” confirmed like BRO??? (so does that mean Batterie in fanfics is canon and is validated by the creator bc fanfics are technically kinda like AUs if we treat the game as the canon verse and fanfics as alternate universe -)
Anyways, one thing that blew my small little child brain when I was younger and I just first discovered OFF was the idea of an “unreliable narrator.” I felt so betrayed then, and tbh rewatching it yearly, it still blows my freaking mind. Bad Batter reveal was PERFECT, and it wasn’t some random twist in the end, it was a long build up and the game was dropping hints - it gives the Player ample time to think for themselves. When you return to the purified zones, that’s when the Batter’s motives become questionable, but you still put faith in him bc while purification of the zones seems like a shady mission, he isn’t wrong about eradicating spectres (who ARE hostile) and the Guardians aren’t good either so whatever the Batter is doing still seems like the right decision. The game makes you think it’s a black-and-white “hero vs. villains” when really, everyone is in the grey area, and it becomes especially clear that it is when we found out about the whole Hugo situation. It’s like, every character, including the Guardians, had good intentions at some points but they’re also flawed, and I think the flawed characterization is so beautiful because it made the characters complex and it makes you understand why they’re acting this way or how did they become this way. Tbh there’s so so much to say about each character and their symbolisms but i dont have the brain capacity for deep thinking and analysis like other OFF fans (bless yall btw)
And bro,, the art? the music? Straight up FIRE. The spectre designs are so cool I based off my whole personality off of it at some point when I was younger. But no joke, I was super influenced by Mortis’ artstyle. My love for sketchy pencil art style and concept art; my preference of colorless drawings; my fascination for surreal/body horror, foreshortening and perspective all started with my little caveman brain discovering OFF. I straight up saw OFF art and said “wow. I wanna do something like that.” And lord, the music - someone hold me back. It just as influential to my music taste as the art did to my art style. I never really stopped listening to the soundtrack throughout the years, even if I never check back in the fandom, I still listen to it. My appreciation for percussion went really high after hearing the OFF ost. My habit of checking out video game ost after seeing a game also started with OFF ost, bc what if I miss out another bomb soundtrack like OFF, right? Pepper Steak was my first exposure to Electro Swing, and man I’m so glad bc now Electro Swing is one of my fav genres. Brain Plague ost is very brain (heh) stimulating, it’s literally addicting to listen to?? And the music also did very well in complementing the areas of the game, it added a whole new atmosphere and god don’t you just love it when music does that little magic. The game’s aesthetic is solid and coherent in both the art and music, like what a teamwork! I defo want to do something like that if I create my own game (possibly, I hope my future allows it)
Tbh there’s so much more I can say about this game, but I’m not very good at constructing a professional and coherent analysis or whatever. And this is all first draft so
TL;DR : OFF is very iconic and definitely one of the best rpg games ever bestowed upon Earth, and I love it forever no joke Im having feelings for it again
NO ONE IS HAPPY WITH THIS: Leitmotif & Sound Palette In “Sealed Vessel”
whats UP hk fandom i am back with—“more picante takes?” WOW YES HOW DID YOU KNOW!!!
CONTENT WARNING FOR TONIGHTS PROGRAM: today we are discussing the hollow knight boss fight, and all that entails for all the characters involved. relatedly this post does not have anything nice to say about the pale king, so if you’re very protective of his character, you may want to skip it.
FURTHERMORE, i would like to iterate that this essay is working from a place of compassion for ghost, hollow, radiance, AND hornet, because every single one of them is miserable at this point in the game and doesn’t want the events of this boss fight to be happening at all. this post is not an appropriate place to dunk on ANY of them. if you want to do that, please do it elsewhere.
thanks for your understanding.
ALSO, AS USUAL: if youre from a christian cultural upbringing (whether currently practicing, agnostic/secular, or atheist now), understand that some of what i’m discussing here may challenge you. if thinking thru the implications of radiance and the moth tribe’s backstory is distressing for you, PLEASE only approach this essay when youre in a safe mindset & open to listening, and ask the help of a therapist or anti-racism teacher/mentor to help you process your thoughts & feelings. just like keep in mind that youre listening to an ethnoreligiously marginalized person and please be respectful here or wherever else youre discussing this dang essay, ty
NO ONE IS HAPPY WITH THIS: Leitmotif & Sound Palette In “Sealed Vessel”
A while back @grimmradiance made a lovely essay about comparing and contrasting Hollow’s moveset in their Hollow Knight and Pure Vessel boss fights and using what can be gleaned from the differences to speculate about their psychology. (This essay is currently their pinned, but I’ll attach a link in a reblog.) It is extremely good, and it made me want to look at the Hollow Knight boss fight my own self through one of my own areas of expertise, meaning music!
As we are all well aware, Christopher Larkin's soundtrack to Hollow Knight rules ass. There are two specific ways in which it rules ass that are relevant to this essay: Leitmotif, and sound palette.
Quick rundown for folks who aren’t familiar with these terms: A leitmotif is a melody associated with a character or event or mood that's incorporated into songs in different ways based on what's happening in the story. Undertale is an example of a game with an incredibly strong use of leitmotif that’s really only possible because Toby Fox is both the composer and the game creator, so he can synchronize the subtleties of the writing with music and scene scripting too.
The phrase “sound palette” can have a lot of meanings, but in this case I’m using it to refer to specific instruments or groups of instruments that are associated with certain characters. If you’ve watched Steven Universe and seen interviews/production commentary by its composer team Aivi & Surasshu, you’ll hear them talking about part of their approach to scoring episodes being how each main character is represented by certain instruments: Steven with the triangle wave, Pearl with jazz piano, and so on.
Hollow Knight is a small team project rather than a one-person show, so Christopher Larkin can’t go quite AS over-the-top with leitmotif integration as Toby Fox can on simple virtue of Team Cherry having to communicate what they want to him. But Larkin is Hollow Knight's sound designer as well as its composer, so he folds leitmotif and character sound palette together with striking use of stems to create a very immersive and cinematic musical experience that enhances HK’s story and gameplay.
This brings us back to the track Sealed Vessel, which has EXTREMELY tight and cinematic sound design and uses leitmotif and sound palette to not just sock players in the feelings during a charged and dramatic boss fight, but also tell us a lot about what Hollow and Radiance are experiencing emotionally, especially with the gameplay in mind.
So, let’s play the soundtrack version of Sealed Vessel (and some other stuff) and talk about what’s going on in the game during it!
You may want to get out your copy of the OST or visit Christopher Larkin’s Bandcamp page so that you can listen along.
LEITMOTIF & SOUND PALETTE
Before we actually get into analyzing Sealed Vessel, let’s talk about the involved characters’ leitmotifs/sound palettes so we know what we’re listening for.
Both of these things are easiest to identify when characters have a distinct theme song. Ghost does not. However, the main theme of Hollow Knight (see: the title track, Hollow Knight) is used as a leitmotif for the vessels as a whole. Most pieces involved with a vessel character include this leitmotif somewhere. For instance, you can find this leitmotif and variations on it in Broken Vessel’s boss theme. The Vessel leitmotif is led by a cello solo here, so we can identify that the cello is the central part of Broken Vessel’s personal sound palette.
When the Vessel theme is associated with Ghost in specific, it tends to be performed by viola and/or piano, as it is on the title track and in other places like the opening cinematic.
Moving on to Hollow, their specific sound palette is established not in Sealed Vessel but in Pure Vessel, their pantheon boss theme. (Sealed Vessel was composed first, since the Godmaster DLC didn’t drop until over a year after HK’s initial release, meaning Pure Vessel was reverse-engineered/extrapolated from relevant parts of Sealed Vessel. But we’ll get into that later!)
The major instrumental fixtures in Pure Vessel are choir and tubular bells (i.e., those dramatic vertical fellas that sound like church bells or a carillon), with some soft background instrumentation: bass drum, woodwinds (appropriately led by flute in the main melody’s “falling motion” - flute is the centerpiece of TPK’s sound palette), strings, and high/mid brass. Hollow’s overall sound palette has a very Christian choir-esque sound (in the Pure Vessel theme this is very idealized and saintly: soft and slow and tragic) and the beginning of their leitmotif has a very distinctive climbing melody that mirrors their ascent from the Abyss. The Unbearable Vesselness Of Being leitmotif is absent from the Pure Vessel track.
Meanwhile, Radiance’s boss theme is a very fun expression of her character upon which Larkin evidently went ham. Her sound palette is expressed through full orchestra (plus choir and pipe organ) that has a special emphasis on the bass part of the brass section, which does not see much use in the HK soundtrack. Her leitmotif has also got cute and distinctive touches: It’s full of triplets to match her tiara-looking antennae, and also has a repeated “fluttery” pattern of background sixteenth notes as countermelody, often spiraling downwards.
The majority of the piece is loud and bombastic and in a minor key to play up the “resplendent and terrible” wrathful aspect of herself Radi is pushing during this section of gameplay, a very quintessentially moth intimidation tactic: Try to look as scary as possible to keep your enemies from messing with you, since you’re not built for fighting. These blasts of intensity from the brass section match Radiance’s strategy of Overwhelm You With Bullet Hell Spam To Make Up For Lack Of Battle Experience/Poor Aim. But in between said intensity spikes you can hear traces of softer instrumentation and major key, little glimpses of a gentle warmth we can otherwise only infer from her backstory and the implications of Moth Tribe lore.
0:00 - 0:41 - OPENING AMBIANCE
The Sealed Vessel track begins with the ambiance of the Black Egg Temple’s interior: The faint tones of the glowing seals we hear when we pass by them, the only light in a pitch-black world besides the floor lighting up under Ghost’s feet.
Then a slow string tremolo fades in, slowly growing louder. In the track new notes join the tremolo progressively, while in-game a violin joins the anticipatory chord every time you snap one of Hollow’s chains. Which, may I say: A+++++++ sound design!!!!!! Rules ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The tremolo reaches a peak in dynamics - all three characters present are extremely tense - and then cuts off to allow for Hollow’s boss battle opening, i.e. Radiance screaming. Team Cherry kindly demarcates each phase of the battle with a Radi yell.
0:43 - 1:39 - PHASE 1: HOLLOW ON AUTOPILOT
Phase 1 opens immediately with Hollow’s leitmotif in bells, but with brass, piano, and percussion backing them up; grand and tragic. In the background the bass section of the orchestra's strings flutter in a repetitive pattern of 16th notes, i.e. Panicky Radi Noises. The violins harmonize with Hollow's leitmotif as it climbs, but then join the rest of the string section in fluttering 16th notes, transmuting what in Pure Vessel is the flute leading Hollow back down (8th notes) to a slightly louder “a” from the backseat.
In actual gameplay, the only attacks Hollow uses are their basic nail skills. Building on grimmradiance’s analysis of the window their attacks provide to their psychology, and pairing that with the Pure Vessel leitmotif booming over the metaphorical loudspeakers, we can tell that this is Hollow reacting automatically to a threat the way that their father trained them to. Their conscious mind might still be making dialup noises at Ghost’s sudden reappearance jumpscaring them with murky childhood guilt and trauma, but that’s only let muscle memory take over. Slash, parry, charge and thrust. Their time spent at bee bootcamp (which we can assume because Hornet was trained at the Hive and Hollow’s form while nail fighting is identical to hers on their shared moves) has served them well.
Radiance, meanwhile, has frozen completely for this combat phase, and contributes nothing here except the anxiety of the string section.
As the strings continue to go “a” the piano (Ghost) and woodwinds harmonize on something between Hollow’s personal leitmotif and the Vessel leitmotif in the backdrop.
However at around 1:29ish, the key changes, building into an overall color change for the Sealed Vessel piece.
1:39 - 2:15 - PHASE 2: SHE’S AS SCARED OF YOU AS YOU ARE OF HER
In actual gameplay, the part of Sealed Vessel used for phases 1 and 2 of the Hollow Knight fight is the Entirety of 0:43 - 2:15, possibly because there’s no easy transition spot like there is between phase 2 and phase 3. But the changes to Hollow’s moveset are clearly tied to this specific part of the piece.
Phase 2 is where Radiance pushes herself past her freeze response and starts trying to hit Ghost. Hollow gains two attacks here, which we can tell are Radi because they’re often accompanied by her crying (a softer and more abbreviated sound than her full scream): These two attacks are the Infection blob blast and the Light/Void pillar attack that hits for a full 2 masks damage (which appear to be Radi’s take on Hollow’s Pure Vessel-exclusive moves, their grabby tentacles & silver knife pillars respectively).
In the Sealed Vessel track, this part of the piece is almost entirely Radiance’s fluttering. The strings start by following the descending motion of Hollow’s leitmotif but in 16th notes, then ratchet up to start spiraling down again while straying further from Hollow’s leitmotif. This section ends in a back and forth between hard blasts in a one-two-(rest)-one-two-three pattern and gasps of fluttering between, with piano and low brass building behind it. Eventually the nervous fluttering of the strings becomes less frequent between the blasts: Radiance is inexperienced with fighting and very very afraid, but she’s also FUCKING PISSED and prepared to defend herself.
The OST version of the piece punctuates the break between the first half of the piece and the second with Radiance’s scream.
2:16 - 4:04 - PHASE 3: “I’M HELPING! :)” SAID HOLLOW; “HOLY SHIT PLEASE DON’T,” SAID LITERALLY EVERYONE
Phase 3 opens with Hollow stabbing themself repeatedly, a movement pattern they repeat throughout the phase. It is shocking the first time you see it, and never stops being horrible and sad no matter how many times you do this part of the fight.
Here, Hollow’s mind has finally come back online after their own freeze response, and they choose to destroy themself and bequeath the duty of sealing Radiance to Ghost. Even if they can’t be the one to make their father proud, they can still make sure their directive gets carried out.
Radiance knows exactly what they’re up to and why, and she reacts to this by completely losing her head and mashing buttons in a panic. This is something we see out of her at the ends of her boss fights too, where she’s feeling too threatened and afraid to do anything but spam optic blasts. In the Hollow Knight boss fight this manifests in two horrifying-looking but easy-to-avoid new attacks: The Infection blob sprinkler and the ragdoll.
Ghost does not react visibly because we're in gameplay, but their horror and grief at their sibling’s choice is echoed in the BGM. The Sealed Vessel piece goes soft and sad, with Ghost’s associated viola leading the bass strings in the Unbearable Vesselness of Being leitmotif. At 2:51 the violin comes in with Hollow’s leitmotif, and gradually the choir appears in the backdrop. The ensemble’s overall dynamics build in a slow crescendo, and at the very end of this segment the other instruments begin to join in.
This segment of the piece is also used in phase 4, which occurs if you don't have Hornet’s help or miss your cue to Dream Nail Hollow. Phase 3 ends when Hollow reaches 0 HP; in phase 4 they are for all purposes already dead. But Radiance manifests an extra 250 HP out of terrified, unadulterated FUCK YOU FUCK THIS!!! even though all she can do is get Hollow to fall on their face trying to slash and ragdoll them around. The BGM continues to play as Ghost absorbs Radiance from Hollow and Hollow’s body loses its shape and dissolves into liquid Void.
And there’s one other place in gameplay Sealed Vessel (Unbearable Vesselness of Being) is used: The Path of Pain, the completely evil kaizo-level obstacle course which presumably featured in Hollow’s childhood training, and behind which the Pale King has hidden his last and most terrible secret—that he had realized on some level that Hollow was a kid with feelings who loved him and wanted to make him proud, and condemned them to death despite it all by using them to imprison and torture Radiance as he’d always planned.
The OST version of Sealed Vessel includes the music for both normal ending cinematics, so we’ll be looking at them too.
4:05 - 4:35: ENDINGS 1/2: NO ONE IS HAPPY WITH THIS
In the BGM for The Hollow Knight and Sealed Siblings endings, the Vessel leitmotif is played by violin, viola, and choir while the cellos and contrabasses—and then the brass bass section too—play a slower version of Radiance’s downward spiral. But once Ghost is pierced by the Black Egg’s chains and Radiance’s struggle to free herself ends in failure, the soprano and bass sections harmonize. The animation zooms out of the temple and the seal reforms. They are stuck together now until the end of Ghost’s life. Hooray.
The OST version of the track immediately segues into the BGM for Dream No More.
4:36 - 5:45: ENDING 3: THANKS, I HATE IT
Here, Hornet’s associated instrument, the violin, plays one long sustained note with a few notes of Ghost’s piano alongside as she wakes up.
TPK’s goddamn flute comes in at 5:00 with his leitmotif overpowering the backdrop Vessel leitmotif on piano while Hornet surveys the carnage: The temple has been destroyed, Radiance is dead, and what’s left of Ghost’s corpse is smeared across the floor. The Void may have taken umbrage with his horseshit and unceremoniously vored him, but the motherfucker still got what he wanted in the end; the Pale King has ended the Infection by completing his genocide of the moths, using the children he abused and abandoned as his proxies, and wasting two of their lives. Can I get a hearty THIS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in the chat.
Given that Hornet herself is canonically unsure if bringing the fight to Radiance is really a just course of action, one can only imagine how she must feel when she sees the cost of that decision.
Our only real moment of catharsis is in this shit situation comes in at 5:13, where the flute gives way to a solo from Ghost’s associated viola, playing the Vessel leitmotif as the Siblings curl up and sink back into the mountain of their corpses. Goodnight, kiddos. You deserved better, and so did literally everyone involved in this whole stupid boss fight.
This is where the OST version of Sealed Vessel ends. Even without the gameplay and story context it slaps, but now that we’ve taken a look at how this 5:45 piece is wall to wall misery and fear on the part of literally every involved character, hopefully it will have even more impact!
Ranboo lore from 'Making it feel like home | DreamSMP' - An Extensive Recap
This is a compilation of everything you need to know from Ranboo's stream, prepared by yours truly! It skips over the revival part, since that's been already covered by other people. Enjoy!
Basic summary:
- Once Ranboo, Phil, Eret and Tubbo are back from their mission to get the totems, they all part ways
- Ranboo tells Phil that he'll go to another woodland mansion and get even more
- Upon learning that it's harder than he thought, Ranboo decides to bring Enderchest back from the panic room instead
- On his way he stops by the crater, remarking how he's always been right
- He says that he can't trust Fundy and opens the memory book for the first time this stream. Fundy is in the 'STAY AWAY' section
- He says that he trusts Enderchest a lot
- Soon after Ranboo enters the panic room Dream's voice shows up
- Dream tells Ranboo that he's part of him, and that there's two sides to Ranboo. Dream keeps convincing Ranboo that he was the one to blow up the Community House
- Eventually, Dream tells Ranboo to mine part of the wall. It reveals a hidden chest with two pieces of TNT in it
- Dream tells Ranboo that he also helped Dream with the TNT to blow up L'manberg, and that Ranboo handed Dream his memory book. He tells him to try and remember why
- After Dream's voice leaves Ranboo freaks out, trying to remember. He accepts Dream's words as true, checking the chest
- The screen goes dark and an enderman noise sounds. Soon, an image with Dream's smiley face and Ranboo's crown appears
Here's some more detailed info, split into parts.
Memory book:
'Friends:
There are no changes made to the memory book on stream. Ranboo shows what's inside the book once, and we can see that Page 2 is different. It looks like this:
Phil
Techno
Unsure:
Tubbo
Tommy
STAY AWAY:
Niki
Fundy
Conversation with Dream:
Quackity'
Here's a transcript I made of the last part in the panic room (note that I'm not a professional, so it probably contains mistakes). Dream talks like this and Ranboo talks like this.
Transcipt begins at 03:42:40 and ends at 03:51:53
"Hello"
"Y-you're back?"
"Well, I mean, I never left"
"What do you mean you never left?"
"Well, I mean, I'm in your head, I'm here all the time"
"How long have you been in my head?"
"I mean, forever, I'm just you"
"But... that- that doesn't make any sense though, because why- why now, all of a sudden? Did you just, randomly appear?"
"Well... I mean, you're looking at your book, you're looking at a smile, you're thinking about Dream..."
"Yeah"
"You think about Dream a lot"
"Yeah, I do, because he's the reason why everything is going wrong. He's the reason why there's conflict on this server"
"Mmm... do you really believe that?"
"I mean, yeah. He- if- if it wasn't for Dream everyone- there really wouldn't be that much- like there wouldn't really be one power that everyone would go against"
"Well, what are some of the bad things that Dream has done?"
"I mean, well you- you- or Dream, fights against Tommy and Tubbo all the time, starts wars, blew up L'manberg, the Community House..."
"Well, you blew up the Community House, but Dream- Dream blew up L'manberg but Techno did too, and so did Philza, and you're not complaining about them"
"Well... but the thing is they wouldn't have need- L'manberg wouldn't need to exist if you didn't... you didn't do that, and I didn't blow up the Community House, I know that I didn't do that. Cause there's no way, there's no way that I could've... done that, cause you know that I'm not that type of person"
"Yeah, I know- I know you're not that type of person, but- but you- you did do it. I mean, I'm- I- it's... your memory is just poor"
"But- but, my memory is- my memory is interesting, I remember big stuff, I would've remembered if I blew up the House, I mean-"
"Well, you- you do remember, this is- this is you"
"But- no- y-yeah, but... How? How come you remember stuff that I don't?"
"Well, I think it's- it's complicated"
"Yeah, definitely is"
"Your brain is a funny place"
"Yeah"
"I mean, there's- I see two sides of you"
"No, no, there's no- there- no- I'm- no. You're just- you're just what happens whenever I- whenever I just like panic- this is the panic room, and I've only, I've only talked to you here. So it's obvious that you're not- you're not- it must be- it has to be just something with my past, on why this is happening, there's no way that- you have any reason to be here. But I don't- I don't like- I don't like you here! I'm gonna be honest, really-"
"Well, I'm- I- I'm here all the time, it's just you never open your mind to me unless you're in the panic room. You don't let me talk unless you're in the panic room. You don't listen to me. Even if I scream, you don't listen. Unless you're in this room."
"But I don't- I don't- I don't wanna talk to you. You- you tell me things that you- that you- apparently I did, but I don't- I don't think that I  did those things, I mean- what else have I done, Dream? Because... apparently there's more. There must be more if there is an entire, just-"
"Well, I mean, you helped- you helped Dream with the TNT that he used to blow up L'manberg. You helped Dream blow up the Community House. You helped Techno, you know- survive L'manberg. And he blew up L'manberg as well. And these are some of the things that you're blaming on Dream"
"So I've been... I've been helping Dream?"
"Yeah, you've helped Dream all of the time!"
"No, no, nnnono! I- there's no way that I've been help- Why would I help Dream?"
"You tell me"
"I- Dream is the reason why there's conflict, Dream is the reason why my friends aren't able to just be happy, why would I be helping him this entire time?"
"That's- that's something you should ask yourself"
"I- But- I mean, I am asking myself, if you're- if you're part of me, then I am asking myself right now!"
"You're asking the wrong part of yourself"
"But-"
"Mine the wall"
"Mine the wall? What do you mean mine the wall?"
"Just mine the wall"
"Okay... What is this? What is it? What is this? I-"
"Open it"
"No, no, this is- this ca- no! There's no way that I helped with this! My friends aren't able to be happy, because of- because of Dream, there's no way that I've helped him!"
"You're friends with everybody. You're the one who said you don't want to pick a side"
"Yeah, but- I mean, there's a difference between just- not being on Dream's side- not- I can- I can be on Dream's side without helping him blow up things"
"I mean- you didn't help him, you did it yourself"
"Wait, so you're saying that I did these things- just solo?"
"Well, no. You did the Community House solo."
"But- but why would I just randomly do that? Cause I mean- obviously, I must've been- if I did that, then I'd be working with Dream, because... there's no way that I would just do that on my own"
"I'm sure you had your reasons, but... you don't remember them now. I mean, how did- how did Dream get your- get your memory book?"
"I don't know. I- I can't remember why"
"I can tell you why. It's cause you handed it to him."
"Why would I do that...? I- I wouldn't do that, but- Why would I give him the book to my own demise? Cause... they all see me as a traitor now. They're always gonna see me- even though they know that- even though if they say that they don't see me as a traitor, they're gonna remember. They're gonna remember that I'm a traitor- why would I give him the book that makes everyone turn against me?"
"You just have to try and remember why. You have to think. You have to remember. Just remember. Remember. Remember. Remember."
"Can't- I can't remember. I can't, I- I don't know how to remember, I don't- I don't- and he's gone again. And he's gone again. I've really betrayed everyone. There's no way that I could've done all of that. I've betrayed people more than I think. I can't remember. I can't, I- come on! Think! Think! Please! Just think, just think! No, okay- well- No, that was just- that was- that wasn't rea- That wasn't real- No, that wasn't- that- It couldn't be real, it couldn't be real. No, I didn't- I didn't do that! Come on, think! Think! Think! Please! Please just think, just think! Come on, please, please! Think! Why can't you think? Why can't you think right now?! Please!"
The ending:
Once Ranboo stops talking there's an enderman noise. After a while 'Fallen Down' from Undertale's OST starts playing and keeps playing until the stream ends.
Then this image appears and covers the entire screen. It flickers and animates, wavering slightly. After a bit text saying 'Thanks for watching :)' is placed under it.
Tumblr media
In the last 15 seconds Ranboo comes back and says that he'll see the audience in the stream tomorrow. Then it ends.
Note
what is the favorite book/film/music of the skelebro?
Undertale Sans - No big surprise here, he loves things that makes him laugh. He was stuck for too long Underground and now he has 50 years of comedy to catch up. He also loves sci-fi and fantasy books and films a lot. He even tried role play. He’s not really a music type of people, even if he still enjoys a lot films ost.
Undertale Papyrus - He loves action films and detective stories the most. He also enjoys super-hero comics, cartoons, animes and movies. And also documentaries about the human body for some reason. It’s still weird when S/O come to the room and see it passionate about human feet. For music, he’s not difficult either. He loves whatever his S/O loves. He has no ears anyway, you know.
Underswap Sans - He loves comedy, but also these romantic-thrillery TV movies of the afternoon. He loves to predict all the stories since everything is so bad playing. It’s like a puzzle. For music, he loves everything that is a bit rythmic. He listend to it while doing his jogging the morning.
Underswap Papyrus - Disney movies. Disney OST. Cartoons. And that’s it. If you let him, he can spend two days crying and laughing watching Disney movies and cartoons. He’s so into it you can sometimes hear him yell after the villain.
Underfell Sans - He’s a Netflix watcher. He doesn’t like TV a lot, since Boss never wanted him to watch it anyway in the Underground. The only thing he’s using his TV for is playing video games. God, he loves new video games. The power to kill people without doing it for real. His favorite music are his favorite video games OST. And Metal. He doesn’t like the music, but it’s pissing Edge off, so it’s his favorite music now.
Underfell Papyrus - Believe it or not, he loves Titanic. It got him everytime. He should be happy that everyone dies but he’s always crying like a baby, hugging a big pillow at the end. He is trying to watch it often so he can outpass that stupid weakness but it doesn’t work. He’s yelling after Jack’s stupidity everytime. “WHY WOULD YOU STAY IN THE WATER YOU IDIOT DUMBASS THERE’S ENOUGH PLACE FOR TWO !?”. He enjoys a lot classic music too. Since he is very angry all the time, it’s almost calming him down. Same thing for books. He read only classic books.
Horrortale Sans - Since he has a very low concentration, he’s only enjoying short films and animations, and short books too. He loves comics, strip cartoons, and mangas. It easier to read without him sleeping after two pages. He likes every type of music. He is very anxious all the time and listening to music is one way to calm him down. He has playlists to go with how he feels on the day.
Horrortale Papyrus - He loves sitcoms. He has already watch all the most known one hundred of times, but he is still enjoying it. He also have a passion for old movies and TV shows, because he finds fascinating how everything is evolving so fast in the human world. He loves reading young adult big books on everything, and mostly on fantasy and science-fiction. He actually has a Bookstagram and he is popular on it.
Swapfell Sans - He is such a boomer. He watches only author films and the ones with a deep psychological dimension. He loves reading autobiography and politics book, science and documentaries one too. But he has a deep, deep secret. Hiding in a closet, he’s got a collection of children’s album. He loves the different types of drawings more than the story, but he still scared his brother found out and mocked him about him. He is a very serious Skelly boy. He also enjoys classic music.
Swapfell Papyrus - He’s a big fan of japanese stupid shows. He loves to see how humanity is able to being crazy without being judge. And sometimes people almost die ! That’s so cool ! He also likes animes and is spoiling everything on social medias just to fight with random people, even if he doesn’t like the show. He has also a passion for bad special effects on movies. He used them to spam his brother mailbox and make him angry. His favorite movie is The Gremlins. He watched it with his brother one time. The next day, he bought 700 furbies and make him believe that was Gremlins. Sans is traumatised. He’s having panic attacks when he saw Furbies now. He doesn’t read much, except for Alphys’ fanfictions because it’s always funny. He is always dying in these. He is also a Metal listener. He loves Metal, and even more Metal concerts.
