And just like that, it’s the end of the school year. This year has been hard and weird and many aren’t sad that it is over. However, for the first time ever, I don’t feel ready for summer break... I don’t feel immense relief that the year is over. And- I AM a bit sad this year is over! This is an uncommon feeling that I’m sure I won’t experience often. I am so grateful for the humans that sat in these seats this year. They blessed and enriched my life during a time when I needed it. I am proud of them for carrying on and for getting it done. I am beyond grateful for my team, my department, our administration, and everyone who helps in every way. I love my job. And I’m already looking forward to the fall! .... This week is #teacherappreciationweek ❤️ . I graduated from WCHS and I am so fortunate to have been teaching there for the past seven years. Some of the best people I will ever know work in this building. These are the men and women who helped me love to learn and they are the same men and women who are helping me become a better educator and person every day. . I’ve gotten to see their art, hear their music, read their poems, read their books, talk about life... I’ve gotten to share vulnerable moments with them and share moments of strength. I’ve been supported and loved more than I deserved to be... All of those things- those things are in the hearts of these teachers. . Diversity Day ❤️❤️❤️ It was amazing. I couldn’t have asked for a better evening! The dancers from Our Lady of Guadalupe performing Baile Folklorico were incredible. The student speakers were vulnerable, honest, and beautiful. Noemi Ponce from Tippy was moving and motivating. Pastor Kondo was incredible and passionate. The GSAlliance provided awesome face paint, the Chinese Club had an fun game with chopsticks and M&Ms, the German Club had board games, ENL had dominoes... there was delicious food from local restaurants... I don’t have many photos because I was busy enjoying myself!!!!
