What You Need: Various cut flowers! I chose white roses with baby’s breath, yellow roses, and purple..something or others... What Else You Need: Various containers of your choice! I chose $4 colored glass lanterns! How To: trim flower stems at an angle to fit height of container. Evenly separate flowers and arrange to your heart’s content. What You Have: Three “thank you” arrangements for the price of one! (You also have some good stress relief since you got to play with flowers!) The women at school who will be on the receiving end of these LITERALLY made it possible to have picture day and a yearbook. The man who also helped make this possible is receiving a far less exciting gift card- but seriously. My first year as yearbook and newspaper lady is coming to an end tomorrow and I would have floundered on day one without the glorious humans who helped me along the way. These silly gifts don’t even begin to say how truly grateful I am. But...they’re fun. And summery. Here is a VERY drastic #beforeandafter of the side of the Burrow!! My mom helped by trimming down the forsythia bushes in the very beginning. I tried to live with their craziness for awhile and couldn’t. So, FINALLY, last summer, I spent a really long time dug those bad boys out all on my own!! I had empty dirt for quite awhile... then I made a trip to the #openairgardencenter and bought some awesome burning bushes and transplanted a WHOLE bunch of hostas I had in a place they didn’t need be! Another change at The Burrow! Before and After! Don’t worry, I plan on reusing the period light to replace a weird modern one in the kitchen!! Here is an old house for you!! I took down the period light fixture to find NO JUNCTION BOX- I wasn’t *entirely* surprised although it had looked like this light was painted and messed with. So there I was... couldn’t put the old light back (no grounding wire) SHOULDN’T put the new light up.... I did anyway. I’m calling some electricians tomorrow for quotes... Funny thing is? I bought this house on the promise they fixed all that... This is what 12 days away from The Burrow's yard and garden look like! Usually, the bittersweet is neatly trimmed, when I got back, he had vines a-growin' every which way. When I left the Shasta daisies were not to their full height and had not bloomed, and I'm pretty sure someone has been feeding my green coral bell something more than rain.... he is ginormous!! Also.... see that trash bin of grass cuttings?! I ran out of room- my grass was soooo long, it would've taken 3 of those large bins!! My sister, @sarahhhmills, is the Cactus Queen, but I've learned from her! My second cactus baby was getting a biiiit top heavy!! So with her guidance, I chopped him and planted his top half in a small pot and left his bottom half to heal. Look how he has begun to heal! It is like he has little Mickey Mouse ears!!
